we had an extraordinary situation at work on monday. fellow had to return to theatre from recovery as he had a slow bleed happening. when he came out the second time, he was left intubated and went straight through to ICU.unfortunately he had listed his niece as next of kin, and the surgeons are not allowed by law to speak to anyone else, and the man's wife was sitting there, wanting to know what had happened to her husband.

how awful

1:38 am

the niece was uncontactable as she was at work....so his poor wife had to wait until the niece gave her permission for the surgeons to speak to the wife.

1:38 am

why would he do that?

1:39 am

poor wife! She must be furious.

1:39 am

current wife...or ex?

I am surprised they hadn't listed both of them prior to the surgery... sounds like a mix up

1:39 am

sure does

1:39 am

jilli, i don't think he was thinking clearly. sometimes people put other family members down as next of kin if/when they are travelling with their spouse. maybe he thought the same situation applied.

1:40 am

dart, current wife, and apparently very happily married

hubby did that once with his mother - I could have killed him

for the reason you mentioned ... about traveling together

1:41 am

maybe he thought it would just be taken for granted that she was the closest and listed the niece as an alternative?

2:15 am

dee and dart, have been following over here. when i heard the news while going to work, i nearly drove off the road. the station i was listening to is christian, and the presenters were calling on all listeners to pray.

2:15 am

like i heard today...gov can't keep you safe.....people have to start to be more aware of things going on around them....most people walk around and don't pay attention to what's going on...too bust texting, chatting etc

2:15 am

busy

definitely in need of that... praying now that the culprits are apprehended ASAP, so fear diminishes

2:16 am

i hear you dart....it seems like that little screen is more important than what is happening around them.

True, dart, but I don't want to live in a country I have to be that kind of cautious. Never thought I would live long enough to ever be nervous in America.

2:17 am

some people have walked into traffic while texting...don't get me started on the drivers who text or talk all of the time

2:17 am

dee, it was wonderful to think that there were thousands of people all at the same time, praying for the same thing.

Totally agree, rose.

2:18 am

sad to say volley...i don't want to either....but think we are getting there.....and the police can't be everywhere all of the time

2:18 am

let you guys in on a secret....it's a mobile phone.....you really don't need to be connected to the internet 24/7.

both true

2:20 am

i only use my phone for calls or texts....and only when it is safe to do so. over here it is a fineable offence to use your mobile phone in the car while the keys are in the ignition.

getting that way here... I only use my phone for emergencies :)

2:21 am

have had people in this town...in daylight...stopped at an intersection...robbed in their car...gun pointed at head and they stole wallet, car and phone...has happened more than a few times....you have to be aware at all times...never know when or where

Actually it is off and in my purse most of the time. We still have a land line.

2:22 am

fortunately, my car comes with blue tooth built into the radio.

That happened to my dad in Chicago in the 50's.... for money...

I'd be in big trouble; I never carry cash.

2:23 am

they will take the credit cards lol

:)

That's all they would get; don't even have an ATM....

2:24 am

*giggle* mine gets shuffled down to the lowest poin t of my bag....then all of a sudden , on a whim, i fish it out, to discover it has turned itself off because the battery needs charging. not much of a techno head here.

ditto that, rose

2:25 am

then with your license..they know where you live and the fact you arent home and cant call quickly

...well, on that happy note, I am gonna poof. :)

2:26 am

lol.....me too.....don't mean to scare everyone

Must think happy thoughts... don't want any nightmares LOL :)

2:26 am

lol, goodnight to both of you. hope you both sleep well, and awake refreshed

You, too, rose, and thanks again for all of your help.

5:35 am

hey puglet and zooz. how are you both tonight/day?

5:35 am

Not too bad thanks, Rose...how are you keeping?

5:36 am

HI Rose--Im great this morn. And you? Things sunnier for you

5:36 am

okay, thanx zooz. thanx for asking. trying to keep myself functioning as our colder weather hits.

5:37 am

i'm either part chook or part snake....probably both, as MollyL would say, lol

5:38 am

:-)

5:39 am

i need sunshine to exist....not a lot around at this time of year.

5:39 am

We got severe weather coming in later today and a thirty degree drop in temps

5:39 am

yeah, pug, so dee was saying earlier.

5:40 am

What's a chook?

5:40 am

Thankfully the sun is out today rather mild..although very blustery.

5:40 am

a chicken or hen

5:40 am

Ahhhh.......

5:41 am

they need sunshine on the retina of their eyes in order to lay an egg.....not that i am going to lay an egg, lol

5:43 am

I was watching a programme here caled 'youv'e been framed' people send in videos of themselves doing silly or daft things...the mother said to her very young child and pointed at the chicken & said look what is it...hoping i suppose for the girl to try & say chicken...to which the girl replied "nuggets"

5:44 am

Pies in yesterdays grid and pies in todays ---makes me want a pie to go with my coffee! And pie crust is one thing Ive tried and tried to make and CANNOT get it --lol

5:44 am

lol, zooz, so true....out of the mouths of babes

5:46 am

pug, have to admit pastry is not my forte.....maybe with a little practice...

5:47 am

Found all the 8s now..yay.

5:48 am

nice, zooz. good job

5:48 am

I dont know Rose--Ive tried "never fell" recipes and lets just say it wasent like my mom or grandma threw together

5:49 am

puglet, that's the clue, hun. they knew what to throw together and how much of everything....they probably didn't measeure much, but went by feel and texture.

5:50 am

thats so true

5:51 am

it's like my fried rice and chow mien recipes....there are some things which are a constant, and others which vary....gives you a completely different flavour everytime.

5:53 am

I have no trouble with the fillings its just that darn crust!I feel untrue to myself to have to buy already made crust

5:54 am

awww, puglet....be kind to yourself....and allow yourself time to gain experience, hun.

5:55 am

ahh thank you Rose--I will keep trying

5:56 am

i remember this first time i made hot cross buns for easter...we used them for door-stops...lol

5:57 am

teehee

5:57 am

I like baking and cooking

5:57 am

it was either that or use them for skeet shooting practice. *giggle*

5:58 am

I made brownies once for a bake sale for our saddle club and some man bought them and brought them back saying they were too hard to eat--I never made another brownie since--lol

5:59 am

do you still make them

5:59 am

Taking a break..back later..take care.

5:59 am

bye zoom have a great day

5:59 am

awww, puglet, please try again. like i said, it will take time to become used to textures etc.

6:00 am

yes, puglet...and my reputation is now legendary in my family....in fact our family easter is not easter if i don't bring my easter buns along.

6:01 am

I think I could be good at making homemade dog bisquits--lol

6:01 am

bye zozz, have a good one, mate

6:01 am

well thats good Rose--Iam glad for you--

6:03 am

pug, i must i was extremely fortunate. i had a great first recipe book. perhaps if you start with a beginners book, master that, then gradually increase to more complicated recipes when you can discern textures etc .

6:06 am

I got to go too--Got to take hubby to town--Yes I got a good cookbook my mom bought for me years ago when I first married(still got it) I use it alot. I will keep trying until I get that perfect pie---You have a beautiful day/night and may God Bless you and yours

6:06 am

pug, look for something along the lines of 'best ever first cook book' my first book took me through scones, to batters to christmas cakes to pastries.

6:07 am

awww, thanx pug...and you and yours, hun

6:08 am

okay Rose--I like the older cookbooks myself--take care --good bye

6:08 am

and over to you, MollyL

7:12 am

Back in a bit

7:12 am

7:17 am

You're only as old as you feel and behave!

7:26 am

jsut found an an8/40

7:27 am

asked my son to walk the dog, because I fell... he was nasty and angry, went to walk the dog anyway. But when I told him I would have liked him to ask if I was hurt, he first went *eyeroll* but... then he said sorry and was I hurt? He is learning (as are we). Milestone!

7:27 am

thanks dawg, good advice, will do that

7:28 am

alas, son will get there. just have to keep your patience pills close at hand.

7:29 am

yeah, I am actually proud of him. He accepted my criticism and apologized and corrected his behaviour. That is all I ask... well done Tim :)

7:29 am

but you try so hard and don't deserve all the sh** he dishes out!

bringing up our children can be a long and sometimes painful process sprite, but your getting there it seems

7:30 am

yup, baby st4s. good for Tim

7:30 am

you know, ruby, I agree. But on the other hand, raising our children is my job, and I intend to do it as well as I can, and I have to do it with the kids I am given. Looks like all in all it works out.

7:31 am

I think so too, Nanette. And indeed, dawg, small steps ahead will get us there.

7:31 am

I guess but I wish I could help you, having loved working with ados when I was a teacher *and with my own)

7:31 am

*final note: and I feel blessed with the kids we were given!*

7:32 am

I'm sorry to love you and leave you, but I have to go and dig

7:32 am

*woof*

7:32 am

7:32 am

have fun, Ruby

bye ruby

7:33 am

7:34 am

doing rehab, nono?

7:35 am

oh how lovely, Nanette! You must have been so tired of that sling.

the bone is about fully healed and now just a matter of loosening things up

absolutely, sprite. And with the warmer weather it got so sweaty

7:35 am

never fun, but worth it.

7:36 am

don't overstress that arm, nono. slow easy stretches before trying to grab, lift or pull anything

7:37 am

yeah, sweaty and your neck gets so irritated and tired and tense. I hate wearing slings. But sometimes it is the only way to heal.

oh i know dawger, theripist has given m e some excersises to get started with

8:04 am

last year there was a couple from Illinois at the workshop - think from the central part of the state

8:05 am

8:06 am

wow..nice :)

8:06 am

this is my second year to attend - last year there were about 65 people at the workshop

8:09 am

how did you start playing an instrument like that?

8:10 am

must still be sleepy...can't stop seeing siesta

8:10 am

my main instrument is the lap dulcimer and some of the others in the dulcimer group came down three years ago and then i came with them last year. My psaltery is made by two people from our group

8:10 am

thanks, smores, you just showed me a word that is there!

8:51 am

Ah, The Jetsons. It predicted a futuristic world that never came to pass.

8:51 am

yep...still waiting :)

8:52 am

Yet.

8:52 am

Really. We're still stuck on Star Trek sci-fi.

8:53 am

you have to know what to read and watch with prognosticators and the jetsons was not it however jules verne predicted a lot of stuff including scuba gear and Issac Asimov predicted the calculator of all things and the orginal star trek's tricorders and communicators have indeed come to pass

8:54 am

Cell phones and tablets. We really need that transporter, 'cause air travel is just too damned expensive.

8:54 am

crossy is still wating on the transporter

8:54 am

what i really want is the holo-deck

8:54 am

visionaries, all of them. And yes, I want that transporter right NOW

8:55 am

Warp drive would be handy as well.

8:55 am

Yep ... beam me up :)

8:55 am

nice holo-deck take a vacation and never leave the house

8:55 am

that is a matter of time only, crossy, the technical stuff is already there

8:55 am

You would think they would have been able to come up with a damn hover board by now. Those things were cool.

8:55 am

'Cause I love vacations, but the travel sucks.

8:55 am

:D

8:55 am

knowing no matter how badly you mess up,all you have to do is say "computer, end program"

8:55 am

I could be here and there if Ihad a transporter.

8:56 am

i could find a job anywhere, it would be great

8:56 am

nice crossy :)

8:56 am

Or "not really here" as so many people say when they are in chat but trying to pretend they are not. : D

8:56 am

nd whoever said warp drive,NASA is working on it now

8:57 am

and we could all invade crossy for brekkies :)

8:57 am

lol,i always have another spot at my breakfast table

8:57 am

I see Smores has fallen under the influence of our British posters.

8:58 am

nah..just for crossy's brekkies..

8:58 am

Found on of my favotire words...as7.

8:59 am

That ends the vowels.

8:59 am

Time for me to bzz...Later...PFFT!

8:59 am

nice going Bea

8:59 am

oh smores..you are going to love today's brekkies, but you will have to wait for the menu a bit

8:59 am

and bye!

9:00 am

lol...I just got that too Bzzn..unfortunately not the end of my vowels though

9:00 am

too late, just finished brekky

9:01 am

speaking of food...BRB

9:01 am

lol,i never finish brekkies.if i am not cooking it and eating it,i am cleaning up after it.if not doing that i am looking in the fridge and planning for the next one and if not doing that i am off foraging at the store for supplies for it

9:02 am

i keep it simple, i hard cook a bunch of eggs at the beginning of the week and then just eat a couple every morning

9:02 am

Well, it is the most important meal of the day. That warrants all the attention.

9:02 am

oh,pippin, you must jazz breakfast up a bit more!

9:03 am

breakfast is THE meal of the day

9:03 am

well, i usually just want something to settle my stomach and give me protein before i go make the workout happen

9:03 am

my favorite though is poached eggs with rice and kale and black beans and teriyaki sauce

9:03 am

not a typical breakfast, but super yum

9:04 am

i eat for the joy of eating, not to calculate, protein,or salt or carbs or iron or whatever.i had a friend like that.she never just ate,she was always treating a condition lol

9:04 am

: O

9:05 am

oh no, i love food, don't get me wrong, just morning food isn't really my main thing, and eggs are super yum and easy

9:05 am

eggs are indeed yummers;))

9:06 am

give me those colesterol bombs:))

9:06 am

it's good cholesterol

9:07 am

There are elite athelets who just "eat fuel". If I ever get to the point where food becomes 'fuel", just shoot me.

9:07 am

never harmed me;)) i eat a minimum of 8 eggs a week and my colesterol is 96

9:07 am

I attended an interesting lecture once by a dietitian who believes that people who can be as obsessed with healthy eating as they can be with over eating.

9:07 am

agreed,judi

9:07 am

it's appalling how many eggs i go through - i buy the 18 pack and i buy one at least every two weeks, often more

9:08 am

lol, pippin.i go to the farm and buy flats of eggs

9:08 am

Sorry, extra "who" in that post.

9:08 am

I am a super-taster, which means I have an above-average amount of taste buds. New scents and flavors intrique and entice me.

9:08 am

i would agree with that,molly

9:08 am

so true molly - especially when you get into really restrictive diets like veganism or gluten free or atkins or whatever - i think it's just a socially acceptable way to basically be anorexic

9:09 am

Constantly counting calories, weighing food, discussing one's diet and exercise habits is an obsession too.

9:09 am

Good morning:)

9:09 am

(which is not to say that everyone in those diets has a problem, but that they attract people who lean towards self-flagellation around food)

9:09 am

I have a neice who has celiac disease. She has a terrible time finding things she can eat. Everything upsets her digestive system.

9:09 am

now, saying all this, there are several genuine conditions that must have food intake closely monitored and i understand it all

9:10 am

celiac is terrible

9:10 am

howdy jan

9:10 am

hi jan

9:10 am

health conditions that require very limited food are awful. So are eating disorders. Very, very difficult to live with.

9:10 am

There are conditions that require special diets. It's the talking about it all the time that indicates a problem.

9:10 am

hi Jan

9:11 am

my name is crossy s. and i am a baconholic

9:12 am

Hello, Crossy. Welcome to the group.

9:12 am

White bread addict here..crusty fresh white bread

9:13 am

well,i have made great strides, the mrs not longer gets bacon scented perfume or bacon earrings for presents

9:13 am

The first step is admitting you have a problem...nom nom nom nom...

9:13 am

do not get me going on fresh bread products either

9:13 am

Lol..terrible stuff that fresh bread

9:13 am

and you stopped using the bacon flavored scope mouthwash, and we're all grateful

9:13 am

ok.i have a problem,now pass the bacon

9:13 am

indeed,pippin

9:14 am

hello, all! Crossy, I fail to see how you have a problem?

9:14 am

Isn't that normal?

9:14 am

crossy, email :)

9:14 am

i know, i'm the abnormal one who doesn't really like bacon

9:15 am

my problem is i cannot get enough bacon on my fresh toasted bacon sammich without it falling off

9:15 am

actually, pippin, you are not alone as any pork products make carlee ill

9:16 am

*GASP*

9:16 am

It's hard to admit you have a problem with your mouth full. : D

9:16 am

i know!

9:16 am

I like bacon in moderation. Too much and it overpowers all other flavours.

9:16 am

Bacon dipped in maple syrup. Mmmmmmm.

9:17 am

thats why i make dishes where the bacon IS the main flavour and all others are just there for support

9:17 am

I don't think bacon overpowers other flavors. Hot peppers do though.

9:17 am

judi, ever tried baked maple/pepper bacon? it is a fav of the royals;))

9:17 am

Hot peppers overpower senses and flavors.

9:18 am

sounds delish, crossy

9:18 am

Hmm. Not wild about the pepper addition.

9:18 am

However, next time I dine with the royals, I'll give it a go.

9:19 am

hey, does anyone have info on the right hand s? i am stumped

9:19 am

now, many will disagree, but with people laying on the hot peppers/sauce all that does to me is mask the real taste of what you are cooking.heck, you could cook the nastiest dish on earth then just pour the hot sauce to it

9:19 am

I have no disagreement with that.

9:20 am

i hate hot sauce. but i love spicy things, just the red flavor of those sauces makes me sad

9:20 am

se6/7 combo, pippin

9:20 am

pippin: ends in biblical bad habit9s)

9:20 am

oh, no wonder i don't have it

9:20 am

se + end with the dried grape and plural

9:20 am

i was told that the use of hot stuff like that originated as a way to mask meats that were not in the best shape as they were past their due date

9:21 am

I rarely use hot peppers. Usually only jalepenos. I always de-vein and de-seed them. Then, I usually roast them. That mellows them out considerably. I like to dice them up and add them to corn bread.

9:21 am

it's also a good way to preserve things, crossy

9:22 am

2 left, Se5 and 6, after the visionary. Could somebody please give me a clue?

9:22 am

ty sprite and molly

9:22 am

interesting, pippin.i only know of canning or salt preservation in regard to long term meat storage

9:23 am

Okay - change of subject. Here at the police department today - we have a young lady in the lobby who is high as a kite and wants to make a theft report. Wheeeee!

9:23 am

it's not necessarily long term, but you still see in in countries with less modern technology

9:23 am

someone stole her stash??

9:23 am

was gonna say the same, crossy

9:24 am

please?

9:24 am

dont have spritee

9:26 am

We haven't determined what was stolen yet, if anything. Something about tennants moving out and taking something that didn't belong to them. Our officer was talking to her in a normal voice and she whined, "why are you yelling at me?".

9:27 am

hello again. I just planted 12 small geraniums, 12 erbena (each, 2 different types), 3 Moroccan mints , dwarf lobelia (seeds) and some other stuff. I am ready to collapse

9:27 am

The officer popped into the office to make a call. He's laughing about it. You really have to have a sense of humor to work here.

9:27 am

nm. Fireflies. Bye all!

9:27 am

Se 5/6. River?

9:27 am

Congrats, Spritey!

9:27 am

Whoo hooo sprite

9:27 am

You must get a lot of that Judi.

9:28 am

I'm back :)

9:28 am

((ruby))

9:28 am

WTG Sprite :)

9:28 am

tc ((sprite))

9:28 am

LBD, saw a funny Maxine yesterday: Laughter is the best medicine. Except for diarrhea.

9:29 am

hi again ruby...wow you got a lot done

9:29 am

boo, molly, kitten has that today, it is awful

9:31 am

they're pr3edicting cold for tomorrow, but not frost, so, hopefully, all I planted will survive.

9:31 am

ruby, your garden must be lovely

9:31 am

stats for teh 4th column E please?

9:32 am

It has had some good years, but itvaries a lot. What I've learned, though, is that perennials are not necessarily perennial

9:32 am

ei5/12

9:33 am

Lol Molly.

9:33 am

And ei4/5

9:33 am

it's my first garden, so I made a lot of mistakes, but it is sometimes very beautiful

9:34 am

that was a fish, molly, and I missed it

9:35 am

There are no mistakes in gardens. Anything you plant and nurture is not a mistake. No matter how it turns out.

9:35 am

the tiny evergreens we put in the first year for winter interest have, in some cases, become monsters and have had to be edxcised

9:36 am

but it gives me enormous pleasure

9:36 am

don't you think pouring acid all over a garden would be a mistake?

9:36 am

YOur garden sounds lovely, ruby. I need to get going and get my flowers planted. Maybe this weekend if mother nature cooperates.

9:37 am

??hurshy?

9:37 am

We are also expecting a cicada hatching this summer. Gee, can't wait for that. Uhg.

9:37 am

molly said there are NO MISTAKES in gardens. well, i have the kind of mind that immediately goes to how to disprove statements.

9:38 am

So, hurshy, how long have you had these thoughts of herbicide?

9:38 am

just fell on the floor, hurshy

9:38 am

i SAID it would be a MISTAKE!

9:38 am

Ihave a mouse companion in my studio. He's very cute and I can't catch him, Brown and hairy

9:39 am

Hi hurshy :)

9:39 am

hi smores, hi all :)

9:39 am

eck...ruby

9:39 am

A mouse? In France? How is this possible?

9:39 am

I've never been this close to a mouse and he is really adorable; any suggestions for a name?

9:39 am

do your dogs go after it

9:39 am

melchisidek

9:39 am

that was what sara crewe named her rat in "a little princess"

9:40 am

for some reason, the dogs don't come in the studio. I think it's because it was "Ruby's place"

9:40 am

aww

9:40 am

I thought there were no rodents or small mammals in France.

9:41 am

why would you think that????

9:41 am

Mouse name: Mr. Jingles (From "The Green Mile)

9:42 am

I loved that movie, Molly

9:42 am

He was a cute mouse.

9:42 am

Judi ... didn't you ever see Ratatouille ....lol

9:42 am

The French have eaten all the rabbits and deer and have worn all the squirrels, but there are still moles, voles and mice and probably, in Annecy, rats

9:42 am

or you could name it martin, after the young boy who died in the boston bombing.

9:43 am

Ah. Okay. I remember hearing about the eating of some of the creatures. Rodents still remain.

9:43 am

the women have fur coats that look like they're made from mide -- too many tiny skins

9:44 am

aww...tha's sadt

9:44 am

I think Martin Jingles and I hope he comes back tonight. I'm putting out a little dish of cheese

9:44 am

Ruby says they are depleted of other animals (I forget which ones) due to them all being killed for game.

9:44 am

phew, cat has calmed down after giving her some rice. let's hope her system clears up!

9:45 am

*thats sad...keyboard randomly backspacing again

9:45 am

pippin\: rice and carrots

9:45 am

Wow, Pip's animal grew from a kitten to a cat in ten minutes. : D

9:45 am

poor kitty

9:46 am

carrots. good to know. i gave her a teaspoon of yogurt too

9:46 am

she will always be my kitten, molly, but she is 12 years old

9:46 am

Update on the theft report: Reporting party says she and her girlfriend were smoking crack. Said "friend" came in and took computer as "trade" for providing the crack. When asked the value of the crack that was purchased, party advised, "$20.00". Hee hee hee. You can't make this stuff up.

9:46 am

I called Ruby my puppy girl until the end

9:47 am

WTH Judi...that is nuts

9:47 am

and she was 10 and weighed about 75 lbs

9:47 am

Oh Judi, the stories you must have. : D

9:47 am

Judi: you couldn't make that up!

9:47 am

Believe me, we are all getting a good laugh out of this one.

9:48 am

judi, that is, er, priceless

9:49 am

Trust me, there will be no report. The officer is now only in it for the entertainment value.

9:49 am

Would somebody please give me a clue for the right-hd I?

9:49 am

9:10 pm

"lol,no,i best keep it pg rating.have taken the plege for the rest of this month anyways, maybe next month i will come in here three sheets to the wind and give you all a reading

9:11 pm

ok,will give you one...

9:12 pm

There once was a man from Madrass Whose balls were made out of brass When he'd bang 'em together They'd play stormy weather And lightning would shoot out of his ass

9:13 pm

:)

9:14 pm

another?

9:15 pm

what about the man in the canoe

9:15 pm

he went to kent to visit the man there lol

9:15 pm

nice

9:16 pm

i only remember the ones from scouts around the campfire

9:16 pm

lol, some of mine were never heard round no scout campfire hehe

9:17 pm

boy do i miss those scouting weekends

9:17 pm

lol,i cannot remember anything before 1980 or is,just a haze

9:18 pm

the saying was the 60's

9:18 pm

all i can remember is some one at a paty in the 70's saying to me "here try this blue pill"

9:19 pm

i always waited for them to try it first

9:19 pm

then i woke up and it was 1980

9:19 pm

and it was all synth music:(

9:20 pm

hopefully you were wealthy went you woke, with a nice house job wife car

9:20 pm

the girls all wore big hair and spandex, god bless them:))

9:20 pm

know what they look like now

9:21 pm

then i went to another party and woke up married in 1994

9:21 pm

after that i stuck to vodka and herbal tea

9:21 pm

happy for you ,,,, you took awhile though

9:21 pm

not mushroom tea

9:22 pm

no,no shrooms for crosy

9:22 pm

now just plain old fresh air can be an adventure lol

9:23 pm

hopefully it is in the mountains on a ridge

9:23 pm

at the base of a mtn on a bay..close enough for me

9:23 pm

i'm trying to get a few more words b4 i call it a night, i don't have many now

9:23 pm

nice view

9:23 pm

quite nice

9:24 pm

on view i have is the sky line of pittsburgh now

9:24 pm

sorry, had to go make a snack

9:24 pm

um snacking on desserts

9:24 pm

now to list my way to my last 32!

9:25 pm

it is sad really.had to give up the smokes in 2002,barely drink, now weeks is almost legal and i cannot use it.think if i tried my lungs would explode..guess there is always hash brownies for the ole arthritis

9:25 pm

how many words are there in the grid 2night

9:25 pm

weed

9:25 pm

i went with tomatoes and mozz with balsamic vinegar and basil. yum

9:25 pm

192

9:25 pm

192

9:25 pm

192 in total

9:25 pm

oh ... i'll get 4 more and go to sleep ,, i have 50 now

9:26 pm

i've always wondered, how do people access the grid without seeing how many words? mine tells me right up front

9:26 pm

it doesn't tell you if you don't have a paid account, pip

9:26 pm

that is because were are members, pippin.others only get the totals for first 3 weeks

9:27 pm

ohhh. that makes a lot of sense

9:27 pm

it is supposed to be an enticement to cough up the 12 bux for a lifetime subscription

9:27 pm

pippin, it doesn't matter, i enjoy the challenge of finding words without assistance, except for the occasional clue

9:27 pm

and crossy, you can always make weed butter, it can be mixed into almost anything if done right, and no lung drama

9:27 pm

hi all. back for more.

9:27 pm

that and having a pretty flag

9:28 pm

how fishy is SI5/10?

9:28 pm

yes,i need no lung drama

9:28 pm

evening mkg

9:28 pm

i am going to change my name to mink instead of mkg. is that hard to do?

9:28 pm

hi mkg

9:28 pm

it is a french river jes

9:29 pm

i think it is not doable. oh well.

9:29 pm

hi pippin

9:29 pm

well, if by fishy do you mean are there fishes in it...

9:29 pm

mkg, just ask dr_g he will do a name change for you

9:29 pm

are you sure that's not the SE5?

9:29 pm

I only know so many French rivers! :P

9:29 pm

se 5/10= french river

9:29 pm

can anyone clue the i words for the i in third column? two words

9:30 pm

oh, whoops, right

9:30 pm

right, I need the SI 5/10 :)

9:30 pm

si5 is pl of si4

9:30 pm

nm, i guess i don't have it yet

9:31 pm

i have in6 21, the small privately made movies

9:31 pm

si 5/10= not brother then pl it

9:31 pm

mkg, they are singular and pl japanese words for american born

9:32 pm

se 5 is just reveresed vowels for the river. and add a hook letter to end for the se 6

9:32 pm

there is another se 6/7: se+ vowel, then what bad deeds are called. then plural, and you have the six seven

9:33 pm

i tried the japanese words. i must be spelling them wrong pip . ty.

9:33 pm

thanks, crossy

9:34 pm

ty got htem now.

9:34 pm

ty mkg

9:39 pm

Pip, pass the butter : D

9:39 pm

of course, i had the is japanese word but not the ni one. sigh

9:39 pm

anytime, molly

9:40 pm

i've not heard of the butter, but, the brownies, and don't think, if i remember, ever trying one

9:40 pm

i've never had the brownies either

9:42 pm

but basically science-wise fat absorbs molecules, it's why we infuse oils and heavy creams and not fat free things (vinegar being an exception because acid works differently, same w alcohol)

9:42 pm

i know some one who has alittle machine, that somehow cooks it, smokeless, collects the vapor in a bag, and inhales that, seems like a lot of work to me

9:42 pm

good grief that's a lot of i words....

9:43 pm

The best I've heard of is Weed Pops...as in lollipops.

9:43 pm

those machines are still somewhat involving smoke, just not open flame, so while they are better on the lungs they're still not awesome

9:43 pm

i'm sure it will be legal in my lifetime

9:44 pm

i went on a date with a guy who was really excited about eating weed infused hard candies, and had pot gummies. but he was a giant loser so i didn't stick around to find out details

9:44 pm

ingestion is probably the safest, but, i've heard it is more intense

9:45 pm

Duuuude...gummy bears : )

9:45 pm

they test where i work at, and i like my paycheck, oops, i mean job, more

9:45 pm

we had a party at my work and there was butter and several people got it who did not intend to, which was terrible, and at least one of them was still so high the next day she couldn't come in to work

9:46 pm

that's funny

9:46 pm

but that was a job where the owners all partook, so testing was not going to be an issue. sort of part of climbing culture

9:46 pm

I know I have a sick sense of humor but I think that is funny : D

9:46 pm

now that i'm looking for health care work, it's definitely not on the agenda, not that it's something i do frequently

9:47 pm

i had a woman i took to lunch and we did it in the park, that lunch time, i did not know she hadn't in years, was during payroll, she messed up and it took days to correct it

9:47 pm

oops

9:49 pm

Were there Cheeto stains all over the paychecks? : D

9:49 pm

yeah, that stuff and work never mixes

9:50 pm

no, the incentives and such did not get in, and since it was on the computer, it took a while to back everything out, the controller made sure that did not happen again ...

9:51 pm

this was long before cheetos were on the market

9:52 pm

Wow. Cheetos have been around since 1948. Must have been a long LONG time ago.

9:53 pm

can anyone help with the last sa5? completely stumped

9:53 pm

i don't remember them before the late eights

9:53 pm

They had payroll computers before they had cheetos? huh.

9:53 pm

i'm not much of a junk foodie

9:53 pm

ugh, nm

9:53 pm

computers came out in the 50s

9:54 pm

is that the one that's like the christmas guy, pip?

9:54 pm

it;s like it's impossible for me to see the word until i publicly ask for it

9:54 pm

yes

9:54 pm

they did not become mainstream till the early 70s

9:54 pm

also, i refuse to admit that's a word

9:54 pm

i came into companies that were trying to migrate off of paper and onto the computer in the late 60s

9:55 pm

hahah. well, it's not an >English< word, anyway.

9:55 pm

Most companies still insist on a back up paper trail, which is really pointless.

9:57 pm

i think a backup of the electronic voting machines would be important

9:57 pm

for sure

9:58 pm

i'm in manufacturing now, and the floor people write everything down on paper and enter it into the machine at the end of the day

9:58 pm

The ones that are rigged or the ones that aren't rigged? : D

9:58 pm

molly: yes

9:58 pm

first di7 please?

9:58 pm

i think they're all rigged now, look at the last 4 elections

9:59 pm

I'll second that.

10:00 pm

You look down your nose with di7

10:01 pm

thanks

10:03 pm

ei5 please?

10:07 pm

nobody? did I kill the chat?

10:08 pm

sorry jes

10:08 pm

I have no idea either jes

10:08 pm

ends like the beer, *** equis

10:08 pm

morewords helps :)

10:08 pm

thanks, pip.

10:08 pm

goodness, from tonight's chat you'd think i'm a drunk and a stoner...

10:08 pm

that was fireworks

10:09 pm

yay!

10:11 pm

10:11 pm

ty cos

10:20 pm

sleep sweet, pip

10:20 pm

I havenot been Babbling much this past week and Jilli asked why. I told her about all the things I was busy with and she just laughed at me... According to her I was sucked in by the myth of retirement. I think she is right

10:21 pm

hanging in, stid, despite contagious adolescent idiocy. how're things going with the new living space?

10:21 pm

oh! LOL yes, I have heard about that myth... akin to the list of "to do" I always have for vacation?

10:22 pm

not horrible, jes. thanks. Love the hellhound in your icon... sorry he has so many health issues.

10:22 pm

:) well, I hope you were at least busy with some fun stuff

Hi

10:22 pm

remember that (most) parents of adolescents manage to survive... and the kids do too.

10:22 pm

hey lady!

10:24 pm

S on the far right for NBT please?

10:24 pm

I am getting pretty sleepy...

10:25 pm

he's actually doing splendidly and i've started reducing his daily medications to see how low (and therefore inexpensive) i can go with them

10:25 pm

nice! I am glad he is making good progress. :-D

Waves back. Jess is that your new puppy?

10:26 pm

yes, herin

10:26 pm

se + vowel + seven deadly ****

He is one big dog

10:26 pm

I think thats the right one

10:27 pm

ah, thanks smores!

10:27 pm

yes! that did it for me!

10:27 pm

yw

10:27 pm

got NBT AND halfway in one fell swoop

10:27 pm

he's a cute and cuddly little baby, herin!

10:28 pm

wtg stid

10:28 pm

Also, have a proud mama brag... the other day in the car Grant used the word "plethora" appropriately and nonchalantly. *grin*

10:28 pm

lol...nice :)

10:28 pm

love those proud mama moments!

I prefer big dogs at least they aren't going to eat your ankles

10:31 pm

I am definitely not a small animal person. Tom is not a big animal person.

10:31 pm

Fortunately, we are both book people. :-D

That works

10:32 pm

hi all!

10:32 pm

hey sue

10:33 pm

hey sue!! hugs to you

10:33 pm

hi stid!!

Stid I have been thinking and please don't take any offence but have you thought of setting up a special Amazon wish list account with anything and everything you need on there so if anyone wishes to send anything to you now or in the future we can?

10:33 pm

thanks, bugs!

HHi Sue

10:33 pm

hi herin, and that is a great idea!

10:34 pm

great idea herein

10:34 pm

yes, lady and I have started putting one together. But right now... I don't even have space for the things we have with us!

10:34 pm

But, yes. I am putting one together.

10:34 pm

I have just discovered the wish list... and yes that is an excellent idea. very simple to use

10:34 pm

feather and nrk suggested it a little while ago

Also Amazon always you to use any other website too.

10:35 pm

It is easier to think about the books than the stuff I really need... *sigh*

10:36 pm

my dream house has an actual "library" in it.

Doesn't have to be right now but if you set one up as you are going through everything you can go 'O need that forgot about that' and stuff it on the list

10:36 pm

more fun too stid. You need something to keep your spirits up until you can move in to the new house

10:36 pm

That's a great idea, lady -- thanks!

I have a wish list for things I have seen or missed on TV and will track down at the livrayr

10:38 pm

hm... I might need to spend some time tonight with Tom and Grant talking about the things we need to ask for.

10:38 pm

I know that all our living room things have to be replaced.

And I mean ANYTHING could be as random as going to Target linking them up with AMazon for a pair of socks

10:40 pm

really? we will need some additional clothing as summer comes along.

Really

10:40 pm

I second that stid

Or go to Target.com and put up a Wedding Registry

10:41 pm

hmmmm.... wanting to not be acquisitive just as my life was finally "simplified" and yet...

10:41 pm

was stuck in grid...finally down to 25

10:41 pm

;-) too late for a wedding registry! LOL

10:41 pm

go smores go!

10:41 pm

Great idea...and yes anything :)

10:41 pm

last st 6, please?

10:41 pm

nan was here, and disappeared?

10:41 pm

oh -- there you are!

Well it is better than a baby registry at least they suggest useful things

10:41 pm

FBI Now at scene

10:41 pm

hi nan!

10:41 pm

I have a plural for a thing that holds something in an upright position nan?

Well Stid everyone needs socks, undies, clothes and coffee/tea

10:42 pm

past tense of walking with long steps nan

10:43 pm

um, bugs has "tea" covered! which reminds me I need to check the marches site.

10:43 pm

oh, thanks bugs!

10:43 pm

so I need the far right s (above the g) and an 8-letter word, and am shamelessly begging for clues

10:43 pm

have that ty stid -- need the last one

10:43 pm

ty bugs

10:43 pm

There is a package of something g'mere suggested coming to you soon stid. Sent with love

10:44 pm

*!* ta da *!* - thanks for the help :)

10:44 pm

??? that Mother! she is so SNEAKY! so are you... *stern mama look at bugs*

10:44 pm

YAY nan!!!!

10:44 pm

thanks Bugs :)

Besides I think a registry allows you to set up mailing address so you don't have to give it out

10:44 pm

yay nan!

10:44 pm

WooHoo nan :)

GO StidMom :D

10:44 pm

I made her do it. Go easy on her

10:45 pm

rofl

10:45 pm

how are things going with the homestead, stid?

10:46 pm

they're going, nan -- I am doing better with getting things done when I am there. The first week just walking in the door was too overwhelming. Now I can get more than an hour of solid sorting in before I have to stop. Having springtime in the garden helps. :-)

Stid can I please make a suggestion

10:47 pm

always, lady -- you have good ideas.

I say you get one of those cheap Ribba Photo frames from Ikea and do a collage of all the items that mean something to you but are now a little bit crispy like your book pages and fabric and put your old house keys in there too. Add a saying that means something you and yours.

10:56 pm

I like that idea VERY much! :-D

It doesn't have to be anything that makes anysense to anyone but you and yours.

I have to get a frame for 2 things - one a dress I wore as a baby and the other the stuffed toy my birth mother made and left for me at the hospital. It was stuffed with stockings and has sadly disintegrated all on the innards.

Clues are up

testing ;-)

11:02 pm

finally finished :)

11:03 pm

What a wonderful idea herin :)

11:05 pm

YAY lickety!

Stid I shared with you the ikeahackers website because it has so many different ideas

11:05 pm

sorry I disappeared.... I like the ikea hackers site. Don't visit it nearly often enough, but it's marvelous.

11:05 pm

YAY smores!

Yah Smores. Ikea is too expensive here to mod it

11:06 pm

I am so glad you have that toy -- and the dress. Good for you.

We got one of the cheap Fullen washstands and put the bit that goes on the wall on the floor and then put a cat box in it. The doors stay up but if you need extra bench space close the doors and yes even madam fatty can go through the gap

11:08 pm

smart

11:09 pm

lol...nice

Lucius is so big and long he needs a high box. Plus we are limited on space

11:10 pm

I am gonna head to bed....night all

Night Smores

11:11 pm
