this grid has a bit of an unfriendly feel, think it's all the Is
think adverbs, Glanterell
Galntarell, sorry I misspelled your handle.
twice LOL
aand then I mistyped it!
but i don't mind :-)
:)
mmm, monkeys are just adding ly to everything, just in case
-ed helps, too
ty
failed
oops
I so want tricycle to be in the puzzle!
Glant - doesn't some of this grid seem to be in Welsh?
it gives that impression jwr - and bore da to you
Bon jour to you, too. I'm usually pretty good with languages but I heard a new one the other day - couldn't even place the continent: turned out to be Mongol.
think I'll get to bed early tonight, night everyone
hi/bye flosey
we have am mongolian restaurant just down the road, food's not bad
night flosey
Is the food close to Chinese?
I'm checking out short of halfway, and with but 3 7s and one 8 letter word. nite, all! [poof]
it has some similarities but is more meaty and uses different flavourings
night melon
hurshy's uneducated guess at mongolian food: boiled yak, roasted yak, baked yak, yak tips in sauce...
i did say more meaty LOL but as yak is hard to find in the Uk I think they substituted lamb in the recipes
that's all talk, hurshy - yakyakyak - what do you really know?
hi all. nbt/nbs and 1/2way
harharhar
have both 8's and 4 7's.
well done m9
i have NBS but not NBT
thanks. Not a fun one!LOL
"giggles shamefaced at bad pun -- thinks: what then is a good one?*
my last tile was the right e
never fear, i like puns
that's what i need for NBT
I
duh whenever you get el5/12 you gotta do the reverse!
it's funny, that it just is one of the other e's backwards!
LOL.. yup
i have the el5 but it's not from there
it's like ante and etna
I've always enjoyed a good yak myself - the pun isn't the same with lamb substitute. ... okay, I'm retiring that part of my brain! Back to the grid.
I didn't see it for a while either!
i need an el6 or ed5
read what we are saying carefully.
ah. light bulb moment, ty
Ha ha ha... VERY carefully!
and el6 is to bring out.
NBT
ty for the el too
wtg glant! Oh, and hursh too!

30s song about cocaine, yeah
*waves to my fans*
cab calloway
you DID - bertie wooster (hugh laurie) sang it in jeeves & wooster!
there are *sigh* 11 7s
Great episode
i never saw jeeves and wooster
it's about COCAINE?
I know...
Oh no! You should watch it
you SHOULD see jeeves & wooster
it is?
ok my total favorite song from it is 47 ginger headed sailors, lol
In Jeeves??? good grief! ... was it s BBC production?
What about Wodehouse Playhouse?
i think i like the sound of 47 ginger sailors
Got me reading Wodehouse when I was little.
did wodehouse take a crack at it?
only ru...
:D <---- can't help himself
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gXr4N51\nRsHA
part of your charm ru
hursh: copied from Wikipedia; "Minnie the Moocher" is a jazz song first recorded in 1931 by Cab Calloway and ... The character "Smokey" is described as "cokey", meaning a user of cocaine
m9 just went to your link - and probably because i'm in uk - it immediately just took me to YouTube but not the video
ok, opinions please. i am looking at a nice inexpensive sweater on ebay. the seller had positive reviews for 3 years and then in january 2 people posted negative ones that he didn't send the item but kept and relished. then in february, gets a couple more positive reviews. then no sales since. to buy or not to buy?
wow jwr.. that's nothing to sneeze at
don't buy, you don't have the same paypal protection as we do
don't buy hursh
SO. NOW we know why we never had any grownup stories about Heidi. ....Hi Ru - I promised hurshy I was going to stop punning ... it's your gig.
well i know the cab calloway part but yeah i didn't really realize the cokey cocaine thing - however - i know that cocaine wasn't taken as seriously for a long time - coca cola orignally had it - in fact at first people thought it was a great side-effect free drug! i thought the realization of its badness had set in sooner than the 30s though.
Oh. Bummer.
they had a rip snorting time back them
and now i'm getting pop up ads...
Stooopid youtube!
oooh .. got the z
of course i don't think i listened carefully enough to even notice the word cokey in the song in the first place... i remember she loved smokey even though he was HOKEY...
it's the hidey hidey HO that always got to me
hursh: on sweater, Glant is probably right but sometimes people post negative things just for the hell of it - look at the two bad posts and see if they look like they might be from the same person. ... and yes on the coke. Speaking of the brand -- they substituted caffeine. Several studies have shown that caffeine is just as bad and just as addictive (doesn't have the sex oomph though)
3 bad posts, 2 diff people - seller didn't comment on them, which they can do, i know.
oooh la6/39 love love love!
Mairzy Doats?
Straight from the news of the last few days: "The latest version of the mental-health bible, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, now includes both caffeine intoxication and withdrawal. "
Really!
wow, wonder if my 2 cups of fresh coffee (OK, mugs) makes me an addict
i do not do caffeine. i despise coffee, drink decaf teas, cocoa sometimes but that doesn't have nearly as much.
Same here hursh
I always knew those kids behind the Starbucks counters were bad news.
uh.. caffeine lover here
i just have the two cups first thing daily then switch to water and fruit infusions - i think carbonated drinks are the work of the devil LOL
*holds coffee cup* "from my cold dead hands"
Glant - try going "cold turkey" with the coffee and see if you have withdrawal symptoms
honestly, you know it must be addictive because it's the same way as alcohol - it doesn't taste good (at least when you first try it in life) and yet VIRTUALLY EVERYONE IN SOCIETY DRINKS IT!
Yeah, sure Ru -- I tried that with my cigarettes in 1989.
if it's not illegal, that is the logical thing to happen with something addictive.
sex isn't good the first time either.. doesn't stop anyone either
i never get withdrawl - if there's no fresh coffee (a much more common occurrence here in theUK than you might think) then I don;t have any. Most people here drink instant coffee
speak for yourself ru!
And sex withdrawal is a doozy
poor ru. bad first sex experience.
i was young glant :D
so was i :-D
guess it depends on the care and attention of the other person
in one of my past lives . . . .
flip. there are 8 MEs
And not a foolproof method either.....
glant, I was the same way about smoking for the first 30 years --- then BOOM -- had to go through horrors to quit, and know I can never have another puff.
i gave up smoking in 1982. after 12 years of 30 a day.
I gave up sex
OK - got lost in four threads - back to grid, and back to work. Calls coming in.
tried many times and failed (because deep down i didn't see why i should have to quit) then one morning woke up and thought - this is it. never had one since
i gave up sex too, but not by choice! darn it.
me neither
:D
I feel like a preist
*is feeling awkward now*
sorry hursh
i'm just kidding hursh
32 years/2 packs (20) a day. Sex gave me up. but then I FOUND BABBLE, praise be!
*whistles* so, how's the weather today? raining here - british summer standard
lol sok
LOL jwr
weather here is - dark
I guess none of you are going to get the la4 then...
dark here too
i already had it m9 :-)
Dark here.
gloomy here
:-P
going poof - got a call and a "live chat" Later all, thanks for the pfun
bye jwr
that reminds me of 5th grade when we had the weather rock. it was a rock on a rope hanging from a tripod of sticks, and we had a sign in the classroom that said, "if rock is wet, it's raining. if rock is white, it's snowing. if rock is on the ground, hurricane." something like that.
Sure hope it was outside..
:-) sometimes it feels like that rock would have a permanenet waterfall coming off it. We did have about 5 days sunshine last week, think that was summer
or you guys REALLY needed more school funding!
yes the rock was outside
he was just a fun teacher :)
he always referred to the bathroom as "tinkle towers"
I recently heard of rain chains...and then I saw that they have these two really large ones at my son's work. Trendy yes. GOod here in the VERY WINDY Gorge.. not so much.
*guessing he was gay*
Ha ha.. tinkle towers.. I'm going to remember that.
or liberace
and sometimes he would leave the room and tell us not to talk while he was gone, and then when he came back he would ask whoever had talked to stand up and people would do it, even though you knew he would make you write 100 times "i will not talk" or whatever. i never understood how that worked.
Well THAT doesn't sound fun...
Training you young ones to lie. Awesome!
well it's sort of inspiring - that you would respect someone enough to be honest even when you didn't have to be
that's the thing people DIDN'T lie, that's what impressed me
Wild.
I have 59 left..and pretty much stuck.
i'm stuck at 69
i have 96, want some help?
been chatting too much, not really even half way through my first pass yet

MMM... good cooking...
Transferred to computer for a while so no battery probs now. Probably ought to charge the iPad though!
I just got 3 cookbooks from the friends of the library sale. I try not to get any more books...since you can always look up something online...
but these were all teh recipes from Better H&G for 3 years.. for just a buck each..
I
I'm just about to switch puters too
I love cookery books - have a shelf of them but don't use them often enough.
I hardly ever cook from recipes. But I like to get ideas.
Same here.
ipad charging
But did a new meatball recipe for lunch guests today - with cinnamon and allspice, in a tomato sauce. Yummy.
interesting!
N. African recipe from Claudia Roden
bon morning all :)
{{sprite}}
hi rose *hugs* How are you doing?
doing okay today, thanx. and you?
good to hear :) I am good! Fight with my love fully behind us, veggie garden starting to grow, did a good day at therapy yesterday. Now if only the weather would clear up, things would be close to perfect ;) Oh, tax return on its way too!
so good to hear sprite. yay you
morning everyone
hi Anita
morning anita
am hitting a wall at halfway here. Not a good sign, grin. usually at 2/3.
not as easy as it seems, some nasty little words, lots of babblets
was afraid of that. But will enjoy the challenge.
if it looks like it couldn't possibly be a word, type it. it probably is one. happened to me several times
new word for the babble dictionary: uchly - very very ugly
*giggle*
thanks to your advice I just found german for milk. How odd.
yay sprite, told you!!
so you did, my friend, so you did!
and how's himself today?
pretty good, not in as much pain. did lose the plot with him earlier. he insists on talking to our canary as if it knows what he's saying. won't cover the cage at night if it hasn't gone to 'bed'. for goodness sake!!!
awwwww... that is kind of cute though. Perhaps you could tell him it helps the canary go to bed when the curtains are drawn? Very glad the pain is less.
(and kick me please when I try medley one more time)
yes, i see what you mean, sprite. will try that.
not the kicking...a gentle nudge, perhaps?
*giggles* Men... got to love them. Yeah, a nudge would be good. For starters ;)
hi rose & sprite.
hiya Dianne :)
i have to say this just the once....IT'S A BIRD, FOR GOODNESS SAKE!!!! there got it off my chest.
hey dianne
yayyyy rose! You goooo girrrrrl!
*highfives rose*
yah yah, ya missed...try again, down low.....
I talk to my cat as if he understands me and he talks right back as if I understand him.
.... too slow! ;)
nope, too slow. *giggle*
rofl, sprite
aw that is sweet, Dianne. Same here with Terra.
dianne, cats, dogs, horses etc i can understand. but this bird has a brain the size of a quarter pea.
I know people with less, though
yeah, and he talks to my canary. lol
roflollllll
Rose..it is not the size that counts..it's what you do with it :-)
Hello, All :-)
well, I do believe that all animals, humans included, react to voice and sound, and probably to body language too.
zooz, LOL!
when I was a kid we had a cat and a bird. the cat was always around the cage as curious as could be. one day the bird managed to open the cage - it did no end well.
oh, my, zooz....that's what he says....ROFLOL
all the time
Teehee
ouch Dianne... that is sad :(
it was for the bird. The cat thought it was pretty good.
poor little bird, and the cat?
This grid is not being friendly..i am having to wrestle with it to get the words.
snack time, indeed.
same here, zooz!
The cats version of a KFC :-)
I know I am missing a de7. I have the shortage of funds one but can't find the other. any hints?
kentucky flying canary
*splutter*
I have neither, but will help look
DE7 having a frenzy..or losing the plot.
were there fries with that?
zooz - you are right - Kitchen Floor Canary
lol!
de7, plural of the d in DT's, what alcoholics go through
thanks for the tremens. Now for the other one.
LOL, Dianne
Got it - thanks
de7, lacking funds in account, or in himself's case, grey matter
haha..you have got it in for him tonight, Rose...lol
I am below himself though... still looking, grin
ah well, they say making up is half the fun, right?

I am happy my love and I don't fight often. I hate it. Making up is better, but I prefer being cuddly and/or corny without the fight.
the sound of the word is like someone who cannot hear.
ah, great, of course. Thanks rose and zooz.
right with you, hun. i geuss the discomfort is getting to me. i rarely have angry words with him.
Cuddly is nice, Sprite..i am a cuddly type person too.
my love and I are horribly... together for 20 years and still holding hands and cuddling all the time. Wouldn't change it for the world, grin.
*hugs rose* Of course, sweetie. Angry words are unpleasant. You'll make up soon, I know.
horrible*
Horribly = fondly...right?
Ahh ok.
yes, very fondly :)
perhaps incorrigible would be a better word, sprite. himself and i still hold hands, and smooch. people observe us, and wonder at how much in love we are.
oooh i love TR****s...one of my fav desserts.
I love that, rose. You guys rock together.
That is lovely, Rose.
hey zooz, did you hear about the man who was going around with custard in one ear, and jelly in the other?
he was a tr6 deaf
lol
*Groans & rolls eyes*
don't forget to past tense it
Done..thaqnks.
Done..thanks.
Done..thanks. Why do i keep forgetting the babble freeze.

:D thanks for the hug!
oh, btw zooz, I took your advice and my love and I have made up completely!
That is good to hear, Sprite..glad i could help..even if just to listen...i do not mind :-)
testing
the listening helped and your advice to defuse the tension before talking it out helped too.
Babble keeps freezing on me.
I am pleased you both have sorted it out.
:)
Nothing worse than having a heavy atmosphere around the house.
sorry, zooz. watching an episode of Heartbeat.
why do you miss when my baby kisses me..doo de doo do.
I hear ya! I hate it. I hate it so much I used to give in all the time just to avoid it. Now that I have learned to stand up for myself, I have to learn to bear a bit of tension for a little while, I guess ;)
I like the theme tune to that series.
that's the one...
never seen it. Might not be on dutch tv yet
Good logical thinking there, Spritey!

poof ty all
according to past chat there are 3 tr7. I have found one
I have neither of the 8's
tr 2 7's. One is an extension of a British yummy destert or to play with
two of the tr 7 are pt, the other is what you do to large letter to make it fit in an envelope
I keep wanting to spell the form of a trike
I found the envelop one. will look for the other two, ty wv
both of the 8s have the same last four letters
I did too pug but it did not work
al 7's, an extension of al 5/10
I only have one other tr word
Looking for the al5/10
tr 5/10 - path thru woods - then pt
someone not of this world, or country
gotta run--company--have a good one E1
tr 6/27 - small amount or kind of a dessert and then pt
ty wv
ty bichone, that al7is an odd looking word

Well, with our oldest home to help we are really trying to put things back together here. After yard wrangled it is new flooring in most of the house and painting the outside trim of the house.
clue for the lasat tr7/44 plz?
prefix for three + **** your laundry right after you remove it from the dryer
I just spent two hours outside weeding
I am sooooo hot right now
tr 7 letter creaces
I have a short attention span for weeding
ahhh...ty bichon
al 5/14 pls
yw Jilly
it was an emergency weeding situation, I was gone all week and it rained. You could have hunted for tiger in my garden this morning
:)
LOL, sort of the same here mael
I also had to take the seed pods off lots of plants and shrubs
al+apple ***er
ty Jilly
I hate doing that bichon, let the seeds fall where they may
of course, then I get extra double weeding duty the following year
I have Peach leafed Bellflower blooming now. I love the blue color. If I take off the spent blossoms, it will bloom at least once more
the upside is that I have a lot of penstemon, which I love, because they spread and flower within a season or two
yeah, they are very much worth the effort!
I had Penstemon once and it took over everything else
it is very, very aggressive with the self seeding
I've got a large number of Foxglove this year. When they're done, I spread the seed
I rip out the ones that don't grow true to seed, I like mine with the dark leaves and they tend to revert to green within a generation or two
I wish foxglove liked it here.... I plant it often and it never, ever self seeds
Where are you mael?
We just got back from England, wow do they have gardens there.
boston, and I'm not used to gardening here yet
yeah, I was very jealous of you bichon! :)
They should grow there mael, not too far from me
where did you live before Boston?
howdy again everyone.back to try and wrest a few more words from this evil grid;)
then I haven;t found the right spot in my garden for them yet :)
They were having open gardens in the towns we were in. One woman with a very large property had a full-time gardener.
Northern Italy, jill. I moved here 8 years ago, but the weather is soooo different
Oh wow, that IS a change!
It's definitely colder in Boston than here, but not that much.
Hello crosssy dear!!
hah, where's the satisfaction in that? my messes and successes are my own! And so's the sweat and backache
((jilly))
I think it's the summers that do them in, sometimes they are way too hot and humid for my plants
I really tried hard to grow Lupines and they never lasted more than a year.
can't grow those either
Move here bichon..have them weeding themselves throughout my front yard!
brb
for a second there my mind said"she is trying to grow wolves" and i wanted one:)
Really Jill, in Montana? We were in Patagonia once, during their summer. They grew everywhere
hugs to all, I need to go take a shower. We're going out with friends for dinner and I could currently be considered hazardous waste :)
se left. Will finish tonight
bye bichon

is this a tough grid or is it me?

It's a bit twisty for sure...
and now it is time for crossy's quote of the day!!!
One may be able to quibble about the quality of a single experiment, or about the veracity of a given experimenter, but, taking all the supportive experiments together, the weight of evidence is so strong as readily to merit a wise man's reflection. - Professor William Tiller, parapsychologist, Standford University, commenting on psi research
Nice quote crossy
*Puts out a pitcher of frosty gin and tonic with sliced limes for the G&T Girls*
Hello Molly. Just picked up our first fresh strawberries from a local farm. Oh my.
There is nothing like them Gran Mere. The smell, the juicyness. It's intoxicating.
ty molly
Okay, break time done....will be back later this evening...hagd all (Molly---> keep that pitcher full)
it is a lovely day here
I love my G&T
I put them in a salad and it was really good.

Lupines grow wild all over Nova Scotia, every color from pale pink to deep purple.
Lupines are such up-standing flowers. Lend great texture to the view
deer5 don't eat lupines too!
I would love to have them along with my foxgloves
You see that along country roads here bichon. It is lovely
Hello everybody. :-)
Still singing Donny Osmond?
hi everyone. stats for the Z pls?
Nah, Molls. Bon Jovi are playing an open air gig very close to me tonight. I'm Livin' On Prayer this evening. :-)
zi5/24
Jon Bon Jovi is in your immediate area? WHAT ARE YOU DOING AT HOME? Go get him woman.
ty Molly...looking
Molly- google Slane Castle, concert venue. Its an incredible place. In my youth, I saw the Stones, Springstein & Bowie there. Its a natural amphitheatre....
Sadly, Bon Jovi are going to have to perform without Soodle in attendance this evening. :-(
Springsteen puts on the best show. I've seen him several times.
I only saw him once- in Slane Castle. I was young, Bruce was young, the sun shone, I was with the man of my dreams..... It was a GOOD day.
Ah, the castle looks like a gorgeous place. You folks are lucky to have such historic beauty around you.
Slane is o
Slane is on my list of places to take Crossy to when he graces us with his presence!
I suppose we could buy it when we win the lottery and rename it Soodly Abbey.
I don't think the present incumbent would be prepared to sell, but, money talks!
Any visitor to this part of the world MUST see Trim Castle. Another Must-See is Newgrange. (Older than the Pyramids of Egypt). To get to Newgrange from Trim, you have to go through Slane!
Newgrange looks breath taking.
it is still in the works soodles.just waiting on others to ge their butt in gear
Cross, as I go about my daily business, I'm making notes to self...... Must show Crossy this, Crossy would be interested in that.....
the tickets for 3(return) business class are $4200.00 and we somehow have to allot 300 pounds/euros for 3 of us each night for accomodations but we are about to pick a travel agents brain on that.time in the uk will be 2-3 weeks
hey all
Molly, Newgrange is awesome. Truly awesome.
lol, soodles, with your help,i am sure you will keep us on the right track
hehe, the mrs is so excited she is almost bouncing through her days
I'll be like a sargeant major, Cross!! Its 10.00! Time for a drink! Its 10.15. Time for a drink. Oh look, theres a castle. Lets have a drink. Lol
Het stiddy. :-)
sadly,to get 4200 dollars ,we will have a 6 hour flight from here THEN a 4 hour layover at heeathrow then to dublin
lol
so we better sleep on the plane
and with toronto airport we have to show up 2-3 hours before the initial flight..long day
sounds like cross will be well hydrated... LOL ((doodle))
dumb spellcheck. SO OD LE
thats after a 2.5 hour drive south from here to toronto airport lol! 18 hour day
And, of course, a visit to Ye Olde Ancestral Home of Soodle would while away another couple of hours. (Note to self.... Stock up on vodka)
i can see it now.i step off the plane after an 18 hour day and no sleep the night before and soodles orders me two pints of their dark strong beer and i fall right on my face
And I'll have the camera at the ready!!!
vodka? in the land of usquebaugh???
nevermind vodka!! i can get that anywhere.i want to drink what everyone else is drinking over there
Hello all. Half way through the grid and ready for the challenge. Ireland? Are we having a Babble Fest there?
i want small batch microbrew stuff made in little factories in the dales that were bulit 600 years ago and the beer vats are lovingly tended by leprachauns
Gmere, Crossy is coming over!! I'm beside myself with anticipation.
Oh Crossy what fun! and to think we can live the adventure vicariously or viciously depending on our spelling.
Yeah yeah yeah, whatever, Cross! But do you want anything special when you are here?
we are all bringing our smart phones and will have tons of videos and pictures to share
hello Mother!
tbh, soodles,at this point other than visiting all the interesting places in your area and a drive up to the giants causeway,i am wide open
soodle beside herself... there are TWO of them? and this is before they even start imbibing! LOL
i do however need to know about the trains that run from ireland to all points south on the island
can i ,for example take a train from trim to london england?
Oh the Giants Causeway is really nice. There is a really old whisky distillery near there (but there would be anywhere you went so that is not a good landmark.) I think it is Bushnells. They give tours and samples.
i want to use trim as my base and do some serious train travel in addition to checing out the hot touristy spots
I don't think there are any trains between ireland and england, cross... there's some water in the way!
ahh, lol, well they better build a bridge
Bushmills, GMere!
i have to get to london for at least 2 days in the midst of all this.visit some family
Yes. Soodle, that's it. Do you think you can take a tour?
For sure Gmere. Been there, done that, & actually got the t-shirt. :-)
love your icon soodle
mm yes,i had scotland mixed up with it in my mind..definatly a bit of water i shall have to deal with

certainly wish I had that in this house with my eldest home!
Crossy, I wrote a sort of funny peom about the bres we drank in England recently from little local breweries, like Crop Circle etc. A bit too long to copy into chat. If I had your email I'd send it. mine is jjack1@uis.edu

Oh heck roundbarn, put it in the chog! I don't mind...
ty mollly for the ar.

With the GPS thing and all we can just call the IRS and I think they have everyone's information on hold somewhere. Shall I start the paperwork for search party recall?
what wine goes with tearing down houses? We get ours demo'd on Monday!!! :-D *sledgehammer in hand*
Old Crow(bar) for the whisky.

oh, you said that you would!
I figured you already had that done...
Do you need me to run out and get them?
god bless the short distances over there because this site is going to pull the entire trip together!!http://tinyurl.com/l54j9y5
LOL....love the ending roundbarn!
very funny poem, roundbarn
thanks jilly--I'm glad someone is reading it!
and thanks to you too stidmama, and any others who read. Th ose are real local brews, crossy.
They are in the fridge here at home. Do you want them today?
oh. LOL I thought you meant get from the farm... I think if we can put it off until tomorrow it's better. I am pretty tired.
unless you need the fridge space, and then I will be able to get them in about an hour
we actually ate all the ripe berries in the garden today when we were done going through the house.
I can keep the berries for the day just fine and you don't need to run over. Only other thing is if you want me to bring them to you this afternoon.
you can drive some down here stidgmere. :D
Sure, ruru. I love road trips and I would surely enjoy seeing your part of California.
thanks, that works -- I don't need them tonight, we'll be eating leftovers I think. Or spaghetti. Or leftover spaghetti. :-)
very interesting,roundbarn
the cadence and the feel reminds me of Elliot
Well. I'm going to say good bye for now. 18 left and no inspiriation here. I think i'll check the frig for dinner fixings. Something with strawberries for dessert!
thanks, Mother! See you tomorrow, talk to you sooner!
thanks crossy--I don't pretend to be a poet, much less elliot.
I am past halfway finally. So tired the tiles are dancing on the screen. I think I might go take a little nap...
see you-all soon! *poof*

good lord,i need a iced vodka...
place however is bare, dryer than a popcorn fart as i say:) poor crossy used up his vodka allowance for the month;(
Ouch crossy...beer?
Well, must head out and start supper. BBQ burgers, salad, fresh corn and cheesecake for desert...
think there is a few in the fridge, but beer to me is little more than water.fills me up after 2 of them
i only drink them on searingly hot days much in the same way i would enjoy iced tea
ok,soodles if you are still in here,i did some calls and did some organizing and it boils down to this the people we are waiting for must get organized by the end of august because the time window we will need for the trip is closed by end of september as it is thus: Toronto to Paris for a weekend-Paris to Coquelle-Pas_Calais and the chunnel to Folkstone - foldstone to london for 2 days-railsail tickets from london to hollyhead to dublin-dublin to Trim and we have just over a week to 2 weeks in trim depending on costs
store run-brb
2 weeks in Trim, Ireland?
rich
SORRY!!!!!!!
1-2 weeks depending on budget
Trim is a very small town. How can you stay there 2 weeks. Are you using that as a hub?
yes.it will be our hub for ireland
Very Excellent! Visit the Castle in Trim!
we will also be hitting the gianst causeway, but the small town of tirm is perfect place to unwinds after planes, trains and busses and chunnels
by the time we get to trim,we will be ready for some quiet
Very nice. I was in Ireland a couple of years ago. What a great country. We did most of the island.
i would welcome any thought or ideas you have then, using your experience and keeping in mind trim as a hub.my mail is p.a.melbourne@gmail.com
Good morning / good evening :)
OK, I will send you a brief list of things to do and see.
hi liz
howdy,liz
hello all....just a little more than half done
You must be getting excited now planning your holiday.
ducid
sorry
hi pen
yes indeed,it is in the second stage of planning, but like i say,we are waiting for one thing that HAS to finish by the end of august and our visit would be in september otherwise the trip will have to be bumped till next year
hi TO
Here's hoping that August thing gets sorted for you :)
18 left here - but only here for another 5 minutes - will prob have to finish later. Nasty little grid :(
store run biab
the most common words are hiding tifily
They certainly are very hiding! Lots of adverbs - some weird ones too.
I often miss words that I think are abbreviations like the de 4 - full of tasty food!

Same here

bye, liz
Crosshair,
Crosshair, I just sent you a brief itinerary of stuff to see going from Trim, going north up along the coast (I forgot to mention Giant's Causeway, but you will not have trouble finding it) all the way to Coleraine. Let me know if you would like more info.
tyvm godthaab
funny enough we had the giants causeway visit already in place so that is perfect
(crossy) so funny I use that term drier than a popcorn fart....tee hee
you are the only other person I know who uses it.
help with la6 pls
(peri)
in a very chill fashion
what is chill fashion Une?
opp of in a frenetic fashion
when you can't be bothered to do anything peri and have a chilled out day
it's an adverb ending
An ice suit
ty une and lill
yw :-)
ty all...i needed that one, too...
yw and hi all
I thought chilled meant cold
ty for la6
hi all
no idea
that too blue
I admit, I thought it was a clue for the ic/5...
the clue led me to both, lol....
oh well,li 6 is still a long way from being my last word
On a ----, crazy afternoon with adverb ending.
actually chilled means relaxed and not part of the la6.
I have 21 left but struggling even with lickety
crossy, when a child can't be bothered to pick up his/her clothes off the floor ect they are bone idle, so add and adverb ending to that word
I have 57 left but don't really care if I finish:)) I had a beautiful day with my red hat ladies. take care everyone.
rats, spent a long time looking for a word which turned out to be past tense of the word before it
bye blueheron and tc
blue, you are from barbados? I vacationed there many years ago and had a wonderful time
Crosshair, I sent you some Irish info.
Ah, I see you got it.
this grid is so twisty and i'm sick of seeing i's
same
can i have a clue for de7/32 please
hi babblers
sorry....don't have the de word
i found it :)
de7 is when you're unconscious and dreaming
hi pip :)

when you have a very high temperature but are passed out, your'e this pen
how've you all been?
well, without the ous on the end
good thanks pip.how's your'e job going?
pretty well, although after everything they paired me with the angry yells-a-lot doctor
still, it's quite interesting and i'm learning all the time
got it...thanks, lillian
i have the ri 8 letter word...can i get a clue for the other one please?
Pip is here. Bar's open!
nm....just got it
hahaha. just having some holy basil tea with ginger and turmeric. but i did have some lovely cocktails last night
glad you're enjoying it pen and it's notch on your belt so to speak which will help in the future and just smile sweetly at the angry doctor and swear in your head :)
Holy tea?
yw pen
hi molly :)
tea will do for me now it is early hours here
what is holy tea?
*Blesses her beer*
holy basil is an herb, it is somewhat clovey in flavor, makes a very healthy tea
Pip has her Hindu on tonight
and lilli, the angry doctor can pick up the phone and get me into a PA program, so it's working out just fine, I will have the best letter of reference possible when i am done
it is true molly, i mixed my tea with turmeric, ginger, lemon, and honey
i've never heard of it pip.i like herbs and drink alot of herbal and fruit teas but to me basil is basil, not holy:)
ty gothaab for the nfo
Hey crossy.

I mean "&#@@!*%%@ Blah!" doesn't sound good.

Oh whew... good!
I was making Blah more exciting :D
Ohh. Ok.
I should have known... smh.
my fingers are hurting ru, so blah is better than sh** :)
at least sh** flushes better :D
All depends on to what you are referring L.
only if your loo is working
I love Brits. They poo in the loo.
i always say blah, blah, blah when i've had enough of the bairn going on
i don't poo, i do a number 2 :)
poo sounds so silly
Better than a number 3. I'm still wondering what the heck that could be.
Poo is what weemees do in the bathroom
a combination of 2 and 1??
well,if you are real prim about it,you could do a immaculate evacuation
i was going to say that pen..lol
or throwing up?
#3? ..never heard that one before
I think the Barely Political guys just used that phrase because it rhymed with "lavatory". Or like the said, "lava-tree". :P
Yeah ru. I'll show you... get on GTalk.
"like they said" even
a number 3 could be when you have an upset stomach and don't know wheter to put your butt or head on the loo
a #3 is a involuntary personal protein spill
that sounds better crossy
Uh oh, adult swim.
i keep forgetting the adverb ending...darn it :)
omg, crossy, just realized what you meantlol
You must not have been reading chat L. People have been saying "just add ly to everything" all day long.
lol
saw two sweetly misspelled signs today
it is womiting,lillian
one was "Happy Fatters Day"
i haven't been on all day molly. i dodn't satert until gone 10pm
the other was happy farters day
That's not what I thought "personal protein spill" meant.
*start
Happy Farters Day is appropriate.
i told both to my dad, and as today is apparently elder abuse awareness day, my folks accused me of elder abuse
well, you ladies are horrbile i must say.shocking even;)) just innocent vomiting is all i meant hehe
i'm with you, molly, i assumed crossy referred to an involuntary #2
No, no, that is not what I thought it meant either. Focus on involuntary.
OHHHHH. for once my head was not in the gutter
Happy to bring you down Pip. : D
i'd already said as in sickness and diarrhoa. it was molly saying about adult swim that got me into thinking something different :D smiling sweetly and fluttering eyelashes :D
just gonna be over here drinking my tea, nursing my sunburn and blisters
did you wear sunscreen,pippin???
Well, I have to maintain my reputation as the Level Lowering Chat Hog of Babble.
um, on my face, crossy
if not,i am not happy.i can show you my melanoma scars to entice you to wear it:(( naughty pippin
i was out for less than an hour, i decided to run on the beach barefoot, which resulted in horrible blisters
well, you're definitely keeping that up molly:D
my face is fine.it is my arms and belly getting agressive mole scooped out of them
ouch
i was prepared for sore leg muscles, but nobody warned me about blisters!
scoop and 2-3 stiches,scoop,3 more stitches, rinse and repeat
i've just found the mi7 as in certain years crisis.it's only taken me 141 words to find it :)
as a public service i will say almost all the problematic one are over 3cm in length, irregular around the border with the center lighter than around the perimeter
May I please have a clue for me5-14 the 2nd? Thanks
and flat
me5/14 same first three as the ones before it, ends with ***k a bird that sings
a nurse type person in the army peach
that's right, always check the ABCDs with your moles!
or doctor
sorry, wrong one
the 2nd me5-14.
That ***k who is learning to pray in The Sound Of Music.
Dang, my clues have gone invisible again.
like the one i clued peach but add same vowel on end
Maybe that is because I clued the 6. Shutting up now.
i wondered what the bird was molly..lol
That's alright, Molly.
did you get it peach?
Actually, I need me5-14 the 2nd and 3rd.....please....thannks
No, hon, I'm sitting here willing my brain to kick into gear.
me5/14, is alot like the me5/16 before it as in nurse like person and had extra vowel on end
and the otherone is the same 3 letters as the 4 and 2 letters for a cold cube
*yawn*
me too peach and i only have 3 left but head isn't working!!
Oh sorry, are we keeping you up?
really... so noisy here
are we boring you or keeping you up ru??
can't you all quietly play the game like all the other lurkers :D
Well it's hard not to control the chat, lower the level in the chat and hog the chat without making a little noise.
noise noise noise!
says the girl about to go to sleep
Get hip, they are disinterested observers.
aye, molly is 'the caht hogger' lol
<----- chog hog:PP
blah blah blah ru :D
hey again. down to 59 earlier
for a second I thought that was disoriented observers
hi stid :)
wb ,stidmama
Oh, there are plenty of those. And disoriented chatters.
Thanks so much, lilliann.....I was able to get the 3rd me5-14, but am still working on me5-4 the 2nd.
i am very orien...HEY!! A BUTTERFLY!!!!
butterfly? where???
beginning of doctor's profession and two double vowels gapeach
as they say..'what do we want?? "a cure for adhd!!" "when do we want it??" "SQUIRREL!!"
peach, me5 is me5/16 but takeway the c and replace with a vowel
lol crossy
*Passes around the Ritiln*
Thanks so much, ruru.
no,that studd is not good for you..here,have some adderal
stuff
And thanks again to lilliann, who is a great cluer.
ritlin messes up the kidneys
i'm not but thanks anyway peach. glad you got it in the end :D
we'll be the judge of that lillian :D
I can't believe this little grid is such a meanie.
I still have 5 left and I should have been finished long ago.
i want a big juicy grid and will tap my foot until i get one.i'm going to have tantrum like my daughter :)
Make that 4 (got another one).
*covers ears with hands* LALALALALALALA no tantrum no tantrum....
hold your breath, you look good in purple:))
Unfortunately, both adderall and ritalin are addictive.
I WANT A BIG GRID!!
Good luck with that L. This game has become Babble Junior.
le
opps sorry about that.
there there lilliann... *looks around for old NY times crossword puzzles
how is everyone tonight?
go phand go!
well,i will not get into the adhd debate and some concessions must be made and with careful monitoring and close dr supervision it enables adults as well as children to lead a better life
fireworks at last :)
This grid is soooo hard today, I haven't even hit 1/2 way yet.
Hi Nurse Phan : D
YAY lilliann!!!!!
hi Molly!
hi phan
we are watching the first Doctor Who episode that had the Daleks in it... Love William Hartnell!!!
my son is heavily adhd,so i am not just blowing smoke out of my arse and he graduates this month:))
Trying to figure out how to find a job, haven't had one of those in close to 20 years!
he has turned into a fine young man who yes, still takes low dose adderal
I wasn't trying to start a debate. I have two friends whose kids got into serious addiction problems with adderall. It's an unfortunate problem associated with the drug.
good for him crossy. my best friend's son also has adhd
ty stid :)
it not used correcty, yes indeed there can be problems, molly
any clues needed before i go to bed.early night for me :D
any drug can be abused of course
