hi Dee. I am never good at finding long ones, especially early on in the game so I usually stay lurking at this time of night. Still, it is always good to see you all!

having a good grid, i hope
doing just loverly, thanx.and you, dear?
aside from the typos Im okie ^^
have less than 20 to go...pottering along like the old grey mare. lol
my last 20 were a bit like that too. I missed some really simple ones
yeah, fish slap me...i missed the snow vehicle, for goodness sakes!
I missed the poems... at least the snow one is backwards lol
the poems are just Right. There.
hmmmm perhaps i'm backwards??
there are worse ways to be tho =D
oh, woof you would have laughed yourself silly. last night DH put on TWO hoodies at the same time, then made the mistake of asking how it looked.
lol!
i answered, it would look really weird if one of them was turned the other way. look on his face, priceless.
it is only on rare occassions that the layered hoodie look is fashionable and Im pretty sure both of those moments are below freezing xD
excellent answer!
he was laughing so hard, he couldn't answer me... then he said that he should of expected that from me, given my weird sense of humour.
It is with sad deliberation that I report that foton is not a word =\
agreed! He really should
we have had a cat we rescued, long ago... who's never been a very social boy
*sigh* how did i miss su5, a su5 of rooms
we've had him for years now, and he sticks with us everywhere we go, but he's very handsoff
12 to go....and woof?
same way I missed the monkey su4 that started that line ^^
yoos?
yeah, cats can be like that. like they are giving us permission to pat them...lol. they can be so stand-offish
Actually, Id never seen it like this, before
all of our other furkids are very very very cuddly. To the point where they usually require 3 pts of contact
But he's the oddball
oh? what does your cat do?
well the girl cat Ive had forever. She turned 22 last month. And she lays on us as often as possible.
But he absolutely goes out of his way to stay out of grabbing reach at almost all times.
one of the cats my son has is sooo cute. if you ignore him, he puts out a paw, and taps you on the chin. if you continue to ignore him, he then uses his paw to turn your face around so you HAVE to look at him. it's such a scream.
He only likes to be touched when he eats dinner and right before we go to bed
please may i have a clue for the 9
hello all - oh wow moon 22 years old - good innings
The Queen High Bitch Of All She Surveys does that too lol She'll even hold your face still with both paws so she can stare at you, until you get the hint that she wants something
heya ursh! and agreed. She's a goer
el9, el + abbreviation for newspaper chief + 2 vowels + wrongful act
jenny, start from the bottom e in the 4th column
She's even still really spry and active, which has my vet asking me things like what I feed her lol
But I told mike, tonight, that we should start thinking about taking a family pic for xmas cards, cause we havent done them in years.
thanks rose
And he looked at me and said "Of course. Cause the boy will totally sit near the rest of us for that... In your dreams."
We once had a female cat that got to 19 and was physically fit and well but sadly went completely senile and was put down for her own safety
He said that it would only happen if we photoshopped him in or something. So I told him I could cut out a picture of the boy and put it on a stick he can hold for the picture. He stared at me like the girl cat before he started to laugh so hard he fell off the couch
aww. Im glad she had good innings for you ursh, but that's a hard choice. I empathize
please can you clue the E in the bottom row and one of the 8s then i will have nbs and nbt
el5 = premier of it's kind
jenny i think the bottom E is el5/10
el5, best of a kind
and oi8 = a slick rock (compound word)
he8, he + ***r, fibber + abbreviation for road
1 to go
go go go!
oh, what a feeling!!!
psh... flashdance wasnt in this grid, even if enable was that cool lol
ty got all of those
grats jenny!
ho8 ?
is a cow
ho8, ho*, short for vacation + german beer glass
{{urshy}} nice to see you, hun
right. a cow ^^
ty got the cow and the beer glass
Im still waiting to get to clue the buttocks
lol, woof
i know, right? my inner four year old is dying over here!
i dont recall a bum word moon - so go for it
I dont think wee ketchup will work for it... oo! ok
he + not out + diminuative
*diminuative vowels
The four yr old hit enter early ^^
ha ty - we dont use that word here at all so didn't see it
np! thank you for obliging my inner twerp!
May I please have a word for fo5-16 the 2nd? thanks.
I am now replete
the 2nd fo is the end of an artist's portfo***
Thanks much, mooon.
np. evening peach
hmmm i have that fo so must be missing the first
is a feninine sounding vowel on the artist's portfo***
or fo + ***r, fibber
ty got it
I never think of those things until you say them that way, rose. You're a goddess among women.
oh, for pete's sake, woof. shhhh! or we will have to widen the doorways.
Nah. Goddesses have that whole pan-dimensional thing going for them. Just alter your surrounding environ accordingly ^^
You're completely much cooler than even spice racks. Which if considered are really quite excellent
*giggle* well of course, dear. i do it all the time..learnt it from my granny
okay, so now i'm a spice rack...is that a compliment or insult? LOLOL
Nice! Hereditary Goddessnesses! Cant even be surprised by that.
roflol
good morning babble friends
Totally a compliment! A kitchen without a spice rack isnt even really a kitchen. Its a break area =D
Morning spritely one!
{ sprite }
Morning sprite.
hiya moonwoof, it is nice to see you around babble again
hiya peach :)
fo7-44 the 2nd please.....thanks
Im enjoying it greatly as much as I can!
ohhh, i found out the other day...my great-grandmother, the one i'm supposed to resemble...her surname was lush.but my grandmother was a ransome before she married. still trying to figure it out.
Is good to see you, too!
How are you this morning sprite?
{{spritey}} xoxoxox
tired and worried, but otherwise fine. And you?
peach, fo7, past tense of artist's portfo***
I believe that if I were named Lush, I might also bequeeth another surname for my child, as well.
awww. hugs sprite. what's up, girl?
it's very intriguing, woof
*hugs rose* Husband still in hospital, hun, will be there at least until Monday. But if they cannot find what is causing the pain on the mri scan, it will be longer.
I imagine so. However, I was also under the impression that surnames can do that in england a bit. They dont even have to be granted by the monarchy anymore.
gosh, sprite...no wonder you are worried. nothing on the mri..that is strange. have they called in an neurologist?
aww! I hadnt realized he wasnt well. *sends tons of hugs and chocolate and healy feelings to Mr Sprite*
My bad, rose. Need fo7-44 the 2nd.....please....thanks
thanks moonwoof :)
rose, the MRI scan still has to be made. Won't be possible until Monday at the earliest.
thats artist's portfo*** + mickey m***e
okay, peach. fo + **ed, fibbed + ar***e, wake up
yes, Rob is on the Neurology ward now, and the neurology professor is doing his case, because he is such a weird one. One thing has changed though, Rob's leg is starting to feel 'deaf', which definitely could indicate nerve issues.
huh, sprite. why are they taking so long, for heavens sake?
Thanks so much, rose.
because they don't do MRI's in the weekend. Can you believe it?
for goodness sake...that is absolutely unforgivable, sprite...
that's odd... it's not like people wont get hurt or need them on weekends =(
woof, am guessing if it was life-threatening they would do one...but mr sprite, although in so much pain, is not considered 'life-threatening'.(my guess)
I was totally baffled too. But the people who run that thing are specialists who work normal working hours. 9 to 5 on weekdays. It is crazy.
That's just rediculous either way. If they *can* they should. And if they *cant* they're idiots. Its not like an anuerism will wait til monday.
well at least he is on the correct ward, now, sprite. i am convinced it is neurological.
Thanks much, moon.
np
thanks, both of you. I feel frustrated too. And true, Rob is not considered life-treatheningly sick. Just in severe pain. But he is now on morphine that is working for him, it makes things bearable.
and there are no 'on-call' staff, right?
I believe, but I might be wrong, that they are on call for life-or-dead situations.
at least he's getting some relief, sprite. and what about you? are you okay? doing all the right things for you?
I do not know what I am doing now....bed time...good luck with the grid
Still, then. I'll keep wishing him lots of better feelings. And for you, tho you're strong and will get thru this, even if it sucks for the weekend.
lol, peach. hope you rest and sleep well, hun
gn peach
hm, I try, I try! Have trouble eating though. Which translates in grabbing a snack in the evening. Otherwise... yeah. Babbling, resting in between hospital runs, and asking my kids to take some of the chores.
night pieach, sleep well
prayers for you all, sprite. glad the kids are chipping in.
thank you rose :)
and thanks moonwoof too
np at all! I always wish you good things!
well, it helps. I can feel all those good wishes and the support from all over the world.
Then I willl wish extra hard this weekend, if it's helping, and try to be on again tomorrow
thanks hun!
sprite, i know they are expensive..but can you afford a couple of frozen dinners from the local shop...i find it such a relief if i have a couple on 'stand-by'
we have a local deli I use for things like that. Even just sandwich-like finger foods can help
it is an idea. Though I would have to buy 3. But definitely something to check out. Thanks for the reminder, rose.
when i am thoroughly whacked, it such a relief to be able to pull them out of the freezer. the other thing i do, is slow-cook roasts, stews, curries. any excess i freeze.
that is a smart way to go. I was thinking of an oven dish for tonight. I can make it when we are back from the hospital this morning, then shove it in the oven when I come back from the afternoon/evening visit.
then it's just a matter of cooking vegetables, and hey presto, mother mac is sitting down to a roast dinner.
canned soups are what I point mike at when I just cant make dinner lol
and whenever i make a pot of soup, i always freeze half.
but the over dish is also a good idea
I sometimes add veggies to the stew too, rose. All done in one go. Courgettes are great for that, and bell peppers, carrots.
*oven
*giggle* woof we are almost on the same wave length
soup is always good. I can eat soup 3 times a day. soup is comfort food for me.
bonding over hoodies can lead to these things =D
me too. split pea soup or tomato... very comfy
and sprite? there is absolutely nothing wrong with a couple of eggs...omelets....with ham, cheese and toast. anything which fills the \hollows.
also a great idea. Thanks :)
Mike prefers the beef/venison stews or chicken noodle. But still... it's hard to mess up heating soup.
lol, woof...
even I can heat soup =D
when i make mother mac's soup for the week, i always freeze half. then the next week isn't as hard as the first.
Lurking as usual but just read the chog, my thoughts and hopes are with you sprite x
there are lots of quicky things, really... when Im stressed like that tho, the big trick is really to think to get them
thank you, witchy :)
'lo witchy lurker ^^
I will put the children to work today, for various chores. Then tomorrow they don't have to do much, except maybe heating dinner. I can organise, but my body won't let me do much more. Just the hospital runs are killing me physically.
g'day witchy...lurk away hun
Do the markets there ever deliver groceries? While it would be an extra cost, maybe that would be worth it to save your time and energy...?
or a neighbor, perhaps?
it's no good to have to make extra trips, if these are already taking a toll
we have one store that does deliver, but you have to order a week in advance. Yes, neighbours have already offered help. It is always a step to actually take that help, isn't it?
goodness, sprite..i really need to be over there. wish i wasn't half a world away, sweetie
me too, rose, me tooooooo! I'd give half my kingdom for just a hug from you.
agreed on both counts.
sprite...new thought...does your local church have a casserole 'bank' ?
And while it's a step, the neighbors are much closer than the market.
or is there anywhere which supplies meals to those who are struggling physically to meet the demands of a family?
no, I am afraid not, rose. I think, when you are a member of the church, people will help out. But I am not.
we do have a meals on wheels, I think, now that you mention it.
*shakes head* not so dear, one. please ask. over here anyone who needs help, has only to apply to a local church. you do not have to be a member of that church.
the last church one of those I needed, I got this awful bacon feta thing... go for the meals on wheels, if it's an option. Who in thier right mind puts feta and bacon in a thing with tater tots?
please, sweetheart, reach out. the help you need is there
lol, woof...maybe they were experimenting...and guess who was the guinea pig?
ok rose, will do. Found a meals on wheels thing just now on the internet, around 5 euro for one meal. I might do that, especially if Rob has to stay next week too.
it definately felt like that a bit. I ate it... but I definately wasnt real happy about it
and if the local church will not help you...well...i'll be right over to sort them out...not a good attitude to have.
woof, that sounds positively yucky. I love feta and bacon, but not with tater tots.
I like them, as well... but I know now that I dont like them *together*, as well.
I mean really... I very appreciated the help, at the time. And feta isnt cheap... but I still was a bit put off
will leave for the hospital in about 10 minutes. In the weekends they have 2 visiting times, 11-12 in the morning and the usual 16.00-19.30 one.
oh, they can go together, woof. If you put together a green salad, cook the bacon out, and then add it to the salad with feta. Very tasty.
oh nice! a bit of extra time could be excellent, so long as it's not too hard on you
Hello, All...not got long this morning..Hospital??...seems i am out of the loop?
actually, that does sound much much more tasty than what I had.
hiya zooz, my husband is in hospital with severe pain which they cannot find the cause for.
heya zooz
(((Sprite))) very sorry to hear that. Hope it turns out to be nothing too serious.
from your mouth to God's ear, zooz! But all the bloodwork was good, so I am kind of optimistic that it isn't some cancer thing.
I am being summoned to attend to the family before bed. Have good family time today, sprite, and dont push yourself too much
goodnight all you lovely people!
Will pray likewise, Spritey.
bye woof, have fun with the family, and thanks.
Sweet dreams, Moon.
thanks zooz, that really helps
{sprite} {mr sprite} {rose} *waves to zooz*
*Waves back*
bye dear people, thanks for being there for me. *hugs*
Please keep us informed, Spritey.
((Sprite))
good-night, woof...and g'day to zooz
sprite, please email, if you can...maybe you willbe too stressed or tired. {{hugs}}
Hello, Rose..how are you keeping?
doing goodly, thanx zooz
Thats what i like to hear :-)
and you, mate? how are you and mrs zooz?
Just me, Rose....doing good thanks...been helping parents yesterday ..as they got a new fridge...had to change the door over as it opened the wrong way round for where they wanted it..plus new boiler was being fitted...they are not keen on too much outside activity inside there home...bless them..a bit stressfull.
Will call in on them again today to see if they are ok..lol
*their
oh, yeah, zooz. know what you mean..my mum is so resistant to change...
Temp here should be around the 30c mark today...love it nice and hot...is it still warm enough where you are, Rose or has it started to get chilly?
zooz, have quite a few mornings of below zero. no matter which thermometer you use..it is still bl***y cold. lol
Oh do i know the feeling, Rose, All to very well..keep well wrapped up.
Ok time for me to go. Take care ((Rose))..till next time toodle pips!
zooz, small issue. my fibro myalgia throws a high body temp. every night. add to that, an inability to sleep under polyester sheets(they make me feel hot)...you have a very disturbed night's rest.
okay, zooz. hope you have a good one, mate
good grief...computer gone nuts...see you all later...
ef
clue 4 the el9 please
dont worry got it
i'm not good at clueing this is the definition of el9 - venom formed by various species of octupuses
any hints for working with Windows 7 here ... am used to XP and can't get the windows to appear how I am used to them :( ?
back from the hospital, hi all
or hi none :P
Hi, how is he?
hey spritey, sorry hubby's not well :-(
hi xeiluj and Une :) The pain is manageable now with the morphine. They hope he can have the MRI scan on Monday, and we all jhope that will show a herniated disk so they can make a plan for treatment.
sounds painful, how come you have to wait until Monday?
ouch . . . glad he's being cared for and pain is manageable . . . hugs to you, sprite
they only do emergency MRI scans in the weekend. No staff available.
thanks Une :)
Poor thing, hope he gets it sorted soon
I really hope so. Being in so much pain and not knowing what causes it or how it can be remedied is so frustrating. And Rob can't sit still, normally. Being bed-bound is hellish for the poor man.
I am just back from Cornwall. Had a tumble and have very bruised ribs, so I feel his pain. But at least I know mine will be gone in a few weeks
ouch xeiluj :( That sounds painful. Been there... worst is when you have to cough or laugh...
I know, trying to take my inhalers is a hoot!!
argh yes!
Are you going back today to visit?
yes, this afternoon, without the children. I did the same yesterday. I bring my book and I sit with him, let him do his own things. Just the company does him good. And not having to entertain me.
Can you take a lap top? He might want to play Babble??
:-D
lol no not babble, that is not his thing. But yes, I brought him his laptop this morning.
Ah well, just seeing you must do him some good
indeed! :-)
yeah, it does. He enjoyed it that I was sitting next to him, simply being there and being able to touch eachother. Touch does so much.
Sure does, try to keep smiling. Off to do a bit more unpacking :(
bye xei, take it easy on those ribs!
Thanks, dreading going back to work on Monday, maybe it will ease off a bit by then. Take care
I found a cow
Moo
:D Hiya Molly
such a sweet icon :)
I love babies
it is a lovely picture. Bea will love it.
She saw it yesterday : )
oh good :) Bea, if you read up on chog: congratulations!
fireflies. Gentle grid today. Bye all *hugs*
congrats sprite :-)

Dancing is one of the best forms of exercise.
where am i? PA
i must say, i danced with someone last weekend and he told me he was 72 and i was shocked
I thought you might be away for a wild weekend of dancing
that was last week ;) only a wild day of dancing today
el 9 pls?
old age isn't so old anymore a lot of times (or is that I am now old?)
Good day to all.
hello scrabs
morning, scrabbs
hi Scrabbs
good morning everyone:)) i am told el9 is octopus venom, but i have no idea on it
morning, crossy
howdy,annie:)
hi scrabs, molly, and crossy :)
howdy,kate:))
Let's have breakfast! I shall get the Babble Breakfast Buffet prepared by my cooking staff.
mmm,breffast...
don't forget to rouse the barkeeps
OK, I'll wake up the bartenders.
mmmm still trying to wake up, and already TO wants mimosas....
mmm,champagne breffast
I'm ready!
one bellini, pls
I was really delirious when I woke up...stuck in a dream.
I love bellinis
What is a bellini? I don't drink alcohol.
poor scrabby
champagne and peach nectar
scrabbler, i danced last night and my ankles are aching. and this is with no weight on them
I never liked the taste of alcoholic beverages nor the effects on my brain.
Quite a workout, Owl.
Anybody following the Tour de France?
scrabs quick question... wild bunnies at my place - i'm giving them apples (which they love) and carrots. they don't seem keen on cucumber, snap peas or darker leafy things like spinach too much. i was thinking of getting them some bunny kibbles from the bulk store. ggood idea? they are into the birds' sunflower seeds too.
el & f***ra (a type of hat) & vwl & one of the 7 deadly ***s (TY Morewords)
a famous sir who plays the piano is in the grid today.name him
ty
*squeal* Bunnies! Well, they really need nothing other than greens. Not spinach or kale--high in oxalates which can hurt kidneys.
ty lynx :)
They have everything they need in the wild. If you give them anything, give them hay.
Elton
ty for the 9,lynxx
ding!! ding!! scrabby wins a full canadian north wood crossy breakfast!! sans, meat products
i can get hay for them, ty scrabs... but gosh how they love their apples! we are bunny central here... they're everywhere!
should you be feeding them if there are so many?
kate, do you want some more? I have about 25 to spare
TY, Crossy!
I give my bunnies 2 baby carrots twice daily, and a tiny piece of banana, which they devour!
No natural predators, Kate? Sadly rabbits exist in the wild to be food for raptors, foxes, etc
for scrabby we have home made jumbo Belgian waffles with fresh preserves, mini potato pancakes done all golden brown with ice cold apple sauce for dipping and fresh diced fruit in light syrup afterwards to clense the palate
Aaaah, TY!
lol, i probably shouldn't be feeding them, but i do like to watch them... and the birds :) i don't usually have bananas in the house.
I tell my bunnies that bananas are not part of a wild bunny's diet! But how they devour their little piece of banana!
We had bacon, egg and cheese on English muffins and homemade hash browns.
Over the years I have had my bunnies jump on the couch when I was eating breakfast and eat out of my bowl--Cheerios and bananas.
I had eggs and cheese yesterday.
not a lot of predators here... back in toronto you could watch the fox-bunny populations rise and fall in inverse proportions, but there aren't any foxes here, and only the occasional coyote... cats are more likely to get them :( i may break down and get them a banana.....
Kate, you love your bunnies as I do!
Sleep is what I want for breakfast. Long (or short?) night here.
Was watching a documentary on an island off Tasmania - previously a whaling station - and they had brought in rabbits for fresh meat - they had destroyed nearly all the vegetation on the island with burrowing. It took a year of trapping to get rid of them so native seals and birds could survive. The devastation was unbelievable.
I see the occasional wild rabbit here. But they are fast because there ARE a lot of predators.
that sounds good molls!
none here. they are brazen, have eaten all of the blooms on my front yard coneflowers
<---- loves all furry creatures didn't the rabits brought to aus do a lot of damage to the local ecology too? naughty bunnies! eating out of scrabs' breakfast bowl and TO's flower garden!
Correct that - 7 years and $24 million dollars to restore - McQuarie island
where are you molly?
First column n stats please?

i think this must be the way some people used to feel (or still feel perhaps) about a nice fresh morning newspaper
Yes, H!
he7/8 the start of whirly birds and l*** but not least
Owl, no def. for he7
I don't know what it means, Owl, but he7 = first 4 letters of copter + Waldorf-***oria Hotel.
oh reat. i am doomed.
ty. i heard molly's clue but could not see that l word :/
the same feeling as when the NYT crossword page is opened
Yes, Annie! We get the NYT puzzle in our Saturday newspaper and it is such a highlight for me.
I probably will start my NYT subscription again
what is special about the NYT puzzle?
apparently it was a judge in ancient athens
scrabbler i understand your clue ibt its not working inthe grid
?
and we are therefore stuck with the word forever
lynxxx, it is very clever and inventive and fun and not easy (for me anyway)
hi, all...so excited today! I have an interview to see about doing volunteer work at a local veteran's center.
is it cryptic Annie?
anyone have a clue for the first he7?
The New York Times crossword is the best!
MLFAN, it works.
Angel, good for you.
yes. if you get it, you get it. if you don't, it is hellish
angel scroll through chat a bit if that is the one you need?
it's not a cryptic crossword (UK style)
I like spending a few days on the NYT puzzle, processing clues and finally figuring it all out.
it's just the most sophisticated US crossword, the most respected, and sunday is the biggest size. (but saturday is the hardest difficulty)
nyt puzzle can be devilish...
Patrick Berry, one of my favorite crossword creators, has his own book of puzzles. Toughies.
happy babbling, wee you later all! poof
kate is coming back to urinate on us!
Bye Kate
*opens umbrella*
Wee, wee, wee, all the way home.
*Dons raincoat*
in case you ever want to know - earplugs in your nose will do pretty well at keeping out a smell, however, it feels quite unpleasant and makes you want to sneeze.

scrabler: if i tkae one aspirin tab with lots of food, do you think it would hurt? ulcer is healed and it did not come from aspirin
I hate incorrect clues, so please forgive me!
Or 600 mg of ibuprofen.
Good day to SF, kje.
hola
dr said what happened was one shot deal but then reneged. i have not taken any thing for pain in two years
Um, thanks for the earplug hint Hursh...I think.
Anyone can get ulcer from overuse of NSAIDs (aspirin, ibuprofen, etc). Add alcohol--> trouble. And a bacteria is known to cause ulcers too.
no bacteria. nsaid, gi doc was sure
you're welcome molly... i think.
My friend's husband got a GI bleed from swallowing pain meds without a fluid.
okey dokie, i will wait and try it. will remember no alcohol at all, why risk that?
how much use is overuse?
i don't need to drink to have fun. hurshy, it is an individual thing but small doses without food are bad
No clear definition because some people tolerate chronic use of NSAID, say for chronic pain, and other people will get GI bleeding.
tx for the el9! :-)
and time to make the salad for the party, see you tomorrow all
Sorry about incorrect clue, Une.
if one has to have an el9, i would prefer a word like el4where
all i know is i got in in two days and my hemolobin was below 8
puhleeze -- i would never have come CLOSE to finding that one without your help!
Why would aspirin cause hemoglobin levels to lower?
f's are a bit hard
the bleeding lowers the hemoglobin
GI bleeding causes blood loss.
Ah, thanks Scrabs and Hego. I didn't think aspirin by itself would do that.
And at 116/110 I have had enough of this grid. Maybe I will return this evening. Great-nephew (12 months) and my sister (grandmother) are coming down for the day. We will be chasing him everywhere.
have fun Scrabs.
I must go also. hagd All.

Where's Scrabs when we need her advice
more help pls with the oi8
3 letter word meaning grease + a rock
duh, ty
np
going to rest
that oo** word - I have heard and read it over many years, and it seems to be a sort of filler word in Scots speech - maybe now archaic - sort of like our "uh" or "ah" but (at least in print) more focused - emphasized what follows, breaks up a sentence for pacing of speech - but I can't recall trying to look it up before today! So what I offer is from interpretation from context starting when I was a kid. Treat with caution.
break time = Babble time (or I'd be napping).. hi all
hi aloy!
hi sue - lovely icon pic
thanks!
Sorry, I stand firm that babies smile. I don't care what anyone says. : D
hi molly!

ooh boy.. am smiling at the el9, feeling fine bc I did not see it.. nope, a newbie for sure!
octopus venom? LOL.. one never knows
babies smile. . .the gas theory is bs by old school doctors who wanted to seem like they knew it all
hi all
howdy jmc!
cruising through to pick up a few clues before i pay some more bills. . .
hey snuffy
uu is oo** a cloud in the stars?
*wanders back out*
if you leave, jmc... she will be back and answer you..
The Order of the Stick (OO**) is a comedic webcomic that celebrates and satirizes tabletop role-playing games and medieval fantasy through the ongoing tale of the eponymous fellowship of adventurers. The comic is written and drawn by Rich Burlew, who illustrates the comic in a colorful stick figure style.
i thought the gas thing was concocted by bitter old aunts who had no joy in their lives. : P
never knew that! ty, o-o
That would make oo4 a proper noun, which is supposedly not allowed in Babble.
see, I'll bet jmc missed that neat definition!
It would be an acronym. And one that is allowed: TYPES OF WORDS NOT ALLOWED Proper nouns, abbreviations, contractions, hyphenated words and foreign words that are not in the Enable Dictionary.
oo 4 obviously is in Enable
like awol
My guess is that Enable is allowing the Scottish variant of out. Not the name of a web comic book. Since Enable doesn't recognize anything to do with the internet.
enable was written before the internet existed methinks..
there are other acronyms for it.
Urban dictionary: http://tinyurl.com/nlr5cox
Other acronyms: http://tinyurl.com/nw7eqph
sorry I missed jmc - the cloud she was asking about is the Oort cloud, which is a roughly spherical cloud of rocky debris that surrounds our solar system
ty sue, maybe she will be back and she your reply
nothing like leaving to get an answer
:-)
The Scrabble dictionary defines oo3 as out
hi jmc! :-)
works every time!
hehe i figured that would work!
trader thought it was the cloud but obviously not. . .of course oort is not in the enable dictionary
yeah molls i think the scottish out is the correct definition. . .
well, my last words are the name of an Ohio city, to6 + pl.. back to work, having fun dancing with the vac today! See you all next time, ciao for now..
no, Oort is definitely a proper noun
bye aloy!
cha-cha-cha!
bye snuffy

Hi Hego

bye dear babblers
bye Dear Annie
Hi Annie :)
Bye Annie.that was quick :) tc hin
Bye dearest of the dear dearies!!
"Yer bum's oot the windae!" Another colorful Scottish saying, that definitely needs some explaining. Direct English translation would be "Your bum is out the window", but that's probably not going to make you any the wiser. So, the actual meaning of this phrase is something along the lines of 'You're talking rubbish (trash)', or 'You're not making any sense'. Believe me, I heard this one a few times!
I'll take your word for it. :)
Tried to download the Enhanced North American Benchmark Lexicon without success. Only got word lists.
Scottish sayings: http://tinyurl.com/d2tp55r
I don't know what that is, but I'm sorry you had a problem.
Enable is an acronym for Enhanced North American Benchmark Lexicon
Aha!!
That's all Enable is, a word list.
Years ago, I downloaded the dictionary
In any event, Molly, oo 4 is as you say.
Is the PB closed today, not like you to slip up Molls
Wow, walked in to empty chog
Hi Chrissie, was getting sidetracked by the tv
Hi lilli :)
Oh I slip up all the time. But since I was a bartender in a former life, I like to go in the PB and mix drinks.

Bummer lilli :(

Finger, femur, foot, face...
Well done ladies
that's 4 but there are 6 and ther are 100 people asked the question. one of the questions was name something that goes faster than 100 miles an hour and 3 or 4 people said a sneeze!!
Fallopian tubes, forehead, femoral artery
A sneeze can go faster than 100 miles per hour.
forehead was one
Don't you just hate it when people don't contain their sneezes
well, it probably can but it's not something i would think about
Yes Chrissie, especially in the produce section of the grocery store.
I do Chrissie.if i don't have a tissue then i always sneeze into the sleeve of my top.i try not to sneeze on my hand
What sort of bracelets do you make lilli?
Chambala, and other's that i design myself using beads and gemstones.i want to make some Kumihimo which is braiding in a bit.i haven't done that yet, but the bairn wants one and apparently it's big at the moment
Back. Clean. Powdered. Deodorised.
I make all sorts of jewellery chrissie as a hobby.my husband and bairn say i should sell them
That's alot better Soodle, now you smell sweeter :D
Are you trying to impress someone Soodle?
I normally just give them away as presents
L, you should put your jewelry up on eBay.
Just had to google image them lilli, they are beautiful
feels like he's watching a soap commercial
Sniff sniff, much better Soodle
Not at all Molls. Au contraire! I'm actively trying not to offend anybody!
*Tries to figure out a way to break it to Soodle that people cannot smell through the internet*
Arrggghhh! Its Ru!!!!! Running for cover.....
You really should consider it Lilli
Aye, i should do Molly.i should seriously think about it, as atleast then i would get some money back which i would donate to Help for Heroes and the house where my husband and i stopped at the hospital when the bairn was in
Damn Ru, what did you do?
Go for it Lill!
I am as innocent as can be
If you ever do L, let us know. I would love to see what you make.
Good evening. What's happening here?
MMM, the word innocent and Ru, don't go together in my head :D
I will Molly
Hi Bichon
Hi Bich:-)
Looks like mischief here
lol, "name a shade of red"... answer "dark red "
Ha ha Chrissie. Name a bird with a long beck.... Naoimi Campbell.....
Doh.... Neck!
lol
I know Chrissie, that was so funny. i said Burgundy
Was that why her book was named Swan?
Are you a red wine drinker by any chance?
No, i'm not, i can't stand red wine but Burgany is my husband's favourite colour
*Burgandy
Give up
Fridge is calling me to finish off the trifle, bbl
Lol, well, you can't ignore your fridge lol.Enjoy:)
I have a great recipe for pumpkin trifle. It's a great Thanksgiving dessert.
I must admit i'm not keen on pumpkin, but i did enjoy the pumpkin bread that Mom sent me from babble.I'm not a big trifle eater as i don't like cold custard or fresh cream.
well.. that will squash that recipe lilli
trifles, love, devour. I've heard of "The Tipsy Squire"
Oh God!! That is so bad that it's actually funny ru :D
My mam used to put loads of sherry in ours and minus the custard as my brother and i don't like it cold and she always used swiss roll instead of the trifle biscuits.i didn't mind her's so much but would scrape some of the cream off
May I please have a clue for te7-28 the 1st? Thanks
Sorry Peach, i don't have it yet and hi :)
Infact, i don't have ant te7's
Hi there, lilliann.
I will look Peach
te7 is te4 and h***, someone who gives a party
sorry, crap clue, am thinking of another
te4 and what you do when you mail a letter minus the p
and pl for the 8
te4, the first one
ty, lilliann.....got it.....hello all....
working on it while i am eating my lobster roll...
Mmm, lobster rolls.
yw Pen and hi :)
got a nice deal....lobster roll, fries and a can of soda for $14....
Thanks so much, lilliann. Had a call come in, so I couldn't let you know right away.
mmm, dinner is in da oven, red angus beef red skinned new potatos, sweet baby carrots valencia sweet onions,2 stalks of chopped celery and some secrect herbs and spices to be served with crossy's famouse home made gravy and yorkshire pudding:))))
mmmm.. yorkshire pudding
sounds yummy, crossy....lobster roll was good, too... ;o)
I've never been a lover of shellfish, but i do like prawns and mussels. We are having mussels tomorrow in a garlic and wine sauce, which is basically Moulle mariniere
We had barbecued chicken, broccoli, cauliflower and carrot casserole with cheese sauce and Parmesan noodles.
never had a lobster roll
mmm,all good stuff
I would have traded it all for a lobster roll.
Have a "b" of a headache.....going to lie down for a while. bbl
love moules cooked any which way....
wish i could email you a lobster roll, molly....
Peach and Peri are sickly today. Sending out healing thoughts.
Sounds lovely Crossy.I had Yorkshire pud tonight with pork loins and loads of veg
your dinner sounded very good, too, molly....
I hope you feel better soon Peach, Tc hin :)
have to love the yorkie puds:)))
and yours, lilliann....was too lazy to cook tonight....
Eh, just dressing up what was on sale this week. : D
I've never had parmesan noodles Molly, but it all sounds delicious. i do like chicken and most vegetables
wow, never knew you could past tense the small slow slimy garden creature:)
Sending healing thoughts to Peri too
what's up with peri?
Stomach bug
Mine aren't slimey anymore Crossy as i've put pellets down and they're all dead!!i have so many, perhaps i should cook them in garlic :)
ugh.hate that.
crosst does not like escoargottie, wrapped in bacon or no
Crossy, why do you skin your new potatoes. they are alot nicer with the skins on
i did not skin them
<---Does not eat slimy things. Not snails, not okra.
just gave a wa run under water
rub
just looked up a recipe for York. pudding....funny how the equal parts flour, eggs, and milk sounded a lot like my mother's crepe recipe....
He meant potatoes with red skins.
It's very much like crepe batter Pen. I'm not a big fan of Yorkshire as a bread with dinner. I like yeast rolls.
i realize what he said now Molly
oh...i take that back....it was water, eggs, and flour, i think, for the crepes.....and a pinch of salt...
not really eaten like bread, molly.we pur the gravy over it maybe add a bit of butter.as a child when the mini yorkies done in a muffin pan came out hollow inside,we used to stuff them with garden peas and butter
pour
It is similar Pen.i use flour 2 eggs, a little drop of milk and more water with a pinch of salt fot the Yorkshire pudding mix but when i make pancakes, i use milk and not water and 1 egg
to me the whole point of making roast beef is to get to the yorkshire pudding.
Yorkshire puddings are not bread
Up North we cook them with all meats Joso, and we have to have them with the Christmas dinner and hi :)
So do you eat bread/rolls along with it?
no,you do not usually eat bread in addition to yorkies
My yorkshire puds are flour, eggs, water, milk.....beat the living daylights out of all those. Have the muffin tin smoking hit, pour in the mix, pop in a very hot oven. 30 mins later, big puffy yorkshire puddings.
yorkies are a filler basically
I was surprised you had them with pork, I'll have to try that
Herbs and diced red onion is nice cooked in a Yorkshire pudding
indeed soodles,i get mine blistering hot with a dab of bacon grease
Mine too soodle
tis the secret
I only ever do yorkshire puddings with roast beef.
i think you can eat them with any meat Joso
my red angus roast would bring a tear of joy to yer eye
I had never heard of Yorkshire pudding or plum pudding until I started hanging out with a friend who had a British Dad. And all that bubble and squeak and bangers and mash stuff.
mmm,bubble and squeak
I think, it's the 'norm' to eat them with beef, but they don't spoil any roast dinner
If they're done well, yorkshire puddings, gravy & spuds can be an awesome dinner!
The Americanized version of Yorkshire is popovers.
they do work with any roast
mm,i think of popovers as desert jam filled turnovers
Yorkshire, gravy and potatoes? That is a heavy starch meal.
I love bubble and squeak, but we'll do our own version with any leftover veg and then make some mash.my husband then grates cheese on top and puts under the grill once the bubble and squeak as been cooked in the pan, plus we add onions and caramelize them first and it is a tasy fillinjg meal
I just thought the beef drippings where essential to the recipe, bacon drippings sounds very good though.
Comfort food!
it is heavy.do not do it often
I had Yorkie whilst in England and I thought it a tad on the boring side
i'm not a big spud eater so i let myself have 2 yorkshire puds :)
but that roast will now make meals for 4 days
That's what I think Bich, it's awful plain.
That's why you have it with meat and gravy, so it isn't
It's better with herbs and onion in Bichon
yup, pour your home made gravy over the yorkies.it is how it is suppsed to be,not eaten plain
we also have sweet ones but i don't
and i add things to mine
I don't like potatos in hot weather. Rather have corn or rice as a starch
Oh, it's a gravy sopper. We don't have gravy too often.
Toad in the hole is nice as it has sausages cooked in it and then a nice homemade gravy poured over and with veg
mmm,i also break up leftover beef and bits of onion and herbs in the yorkie batter nad bake it like that
lol,you either get the idea of yorkies,or you do not
it sis served with beef, which of course has gravy eh?
Mmm, i've never put bits of beef in crossy, but sounds tasty
do you like my new look??
it,is lillian
Rats, I was hoping it was a lobster roll Pen. : D
lolol....
it's my puppet, Kai...
well, apparently English food is bland so people say, but not if you add your own flavours, it isn't. when we make our gravy, we always use the meat juice and add some of the yorkshire pudding mix and it is lovely and thick and tasty
yuppers,i jazz my gravy right up mmmm
It's cute Pen :)
That is what my kids said when they went to London. That British food was bland.
ty...he is wearing his everyday tie....
British food is much improved
New season potatoes. So fresh that they are breaking out of their skins. A dab of fresh creamery butter, a sprinkle of sea-salt. You can keep your lobster & your fillet steak. Give me a plate of fresh spuds.....
mmm,fresh spuds
*Adds asparagus to Soodle's potato dish*
i'm not being funny but bacon, maple syrup and pancakes on the same plate is so wrong!!
my red skin new taters are in there soaking up the juices, and in the last 15 min,i will take the lid off the roaster and give them a lil brush with butter and they are all golden brown
I never put bacon on the same plate as pancakes and maple syrup.
and the gravy from beef drippings will about about 10,000 calories a tbs:))
Not to mention the bacon fat the Yorkshire is cooked in, but who's counting?
never count with a traditional beef dinners.there is no point
we eat like supermodels for 3 days after one of these meals
when i was a child,you would see it once a week,no more,on a sunday usually
A carrot stick and celery stick a day then Crossy?
which was the point because the leftovers would make meals well into the middle of the following week
Oh for heavens sake! I don't give a rat's ar*e how many calories are in a well balanced, tasty , Sunday dinner.
lol,not far off,lillian
lol,that's my soodles
Can't wait to hear the super model dinner menus.
alot of American food is full of cholesterol
Just finished trying to transcribe the alien dr....my dinner tonight is 3 martinis and an olive!
Energy in - energy out! If you overdo the calorie intake, go for a long walk, have energetic sex, take a swim.....
are you near northumberland lil
Hi Mimi, sounds good, a low fat diet :D and hi :)
Soodle, the best weight loss advice I ever got was from a doctor I used to work with who I just adored. He said, and I quote "Lots of tuna, lots of sex." To which I replied "I'm not sure I can eat that much tuna." Hehe
hehe
((crossy))
how much tuna = one sexing? would love to know the formulae, mimi;))
we're inbetween sunderland and Newcastle Joso, so not too far. Northumberland is the other side of the Tyne tunnel. alot of my family are from Northumberland
Energetic sex Soodle, i've forgotten what that's like, sex even and walking :)
Don't know, crossy....I only ended up with the tuna.
lol,i now sweat when i comb my hair, does that count?
I've downloaded the George Gently series and was wondering if you were in the vicinity of the show
I think it must, crossy! I sweat just thinking about exercise!
Lol Mimi. I'm signing out now, to partake of A) a walk, B),energetic sex, C) a swim. Undecided which is the best option. Good night all. ;-)
Glad you HAVE options, Soodle! Night.
It's based in Northumberland and County Durham joso, which is where i live
Just finished first martini...seeing all kinds of words that don't exist...love when that happens...
Night soodle, so inother words, you're going to be dreaming of walking along a beach, then take a midnight swim and have sex int eh sea with a gorgeous stranger :D
well,i advise against sex while walking, but you could combine it with swimming, but i suggest shallow water so the pair of you do not drown:)
OK, all this sex talk means I need another martini....
i sould make you crossy's famous martini
looks a lot like a more tamed Canada. cooler than london but the land worked for far longer period.
Lol Mimi
Do tell, crossy!
Hey, never had sex while walking but had it on a motorcycle once...don't even ask.
It is cooler than the south but i love it up here more than i did down south and i was brought up there.there is a lot of beautiful countryside up in the north and the people are friendlier
ok,you take 3 ounces of gin from the freezer, place into a forsted martini glass.now take a sterling silver cocktail sword and impale three pimento olives with it and gently float it in the glass so as to not bruise the alcohol.now lean over the glass and whisper " Antonio Benedetto Carpano" then add a wee bit of lemon peel and serve
frosted
Lol Mimi, i'm not going there :D
Don't have your daughter em me tonight, lil, she might hear stories you don't want told!
even crossy will leat the motorcycle sex pass
Also in a glass elevator once...again, don't ask.
She's at her grandad's, so you're alright
Charter member of the mile-high club....ditto.
OMG Mimi,i hope there weren't any bystanders?
Wow, do I sound like I was a slut? Well, the truth doesn't even hurt! Hey, it was the 70's.....
LOL
Oh, there are soooo many more stories...wait for the book!
You keep saying that, so i wish you'd hurry up and write it!! :D
You have me in fits Mimi :D
It takes a long time to write a book with this much experience, lil...am working on it. Maybe I should get a ghostwriter...before I AM a ghost!
See, when a younger person talks about their exploits, it's common. But when an older person does, it's fascinating.....and, boy, has my life been fascinating. The talk shows will love me.
i think you should Mimi.how much have you written so far?
Maybe I should send you excerpts along the way, lil, and you can save them as a memento and let me sign your collection when I visit...and I DO intend to visit!
I tried writing in chronological order but it was too confining and intimidating. Now I just write whatever I feel at the time and will worry about putting it together later....sprite gave me good advice about that.
You should Mimi and you are always welcome here as i've said before:)
I would SO love to visit you, lil....we WILL make that happen!
i think you should just write as you remember and then put it altogether after
i hope so Mimi:D
Luckily, I've written all my life so that helps. I wrote a one-act play when I was 10. There is the issue, however, of exposing such private experiences to public scrutiny...that's why I've waited so long. If I was younger, I'd more easily be criticized but now I'll be considered colorful!
well, you don't have to publicise everything, and your'e right, when you get older life experiences are looked upon differently, but there will still be people that criticise as people are like that.
ooh, my favorite ladies are here!
I don't even care, lil...let it fly!
((sue)) So good to see you!
So, why didn't you take up writing i then Mimi, as it sounds like you could be a very talented writer?
Hi Sue :D great to see you
hi lilli and mimi! :-)
Am on martini #2, sue, trying to erase bad alien doctor from my brain after transcribing today. The grid is looking pretty funky.
LOVE the icon, sue!
ha, sounds good to me, mimi! The grid is ok, the usual assortment of weird words
I am now making up my own words...much more fun.
haha, I do that too sometimes, along with definitions :-)
I'd like to make up new swear words because the old ones no longer have any impact.
aww, ty Sue for the favourite ladies comments...it'll be embarassing if you weren't talking about me though..how are you and Frank doing?
I was indeed talking about you, lilli, and mimi!
Frank and I are doing well, he is continuing to recover from the chemo and is feeling much better
Brilliant!i'm so glad to hear it.Sending squeezy hugs to you and Frank:)
Haven't seen smores for quite some time...miss her. Think I'll send her an em to touch base. Got to talk to Jilly and Trader Kate yesterday...lovely.
that's right, I haven't seen smores for a while either! Hope she is ok.
was she not on the other day?
she may have been and I missed her, lilli, I've been pretty occasional lately
Will send her your regards, sue. OK, martinis kicking in and I'll start getting all emotional...no one needs that! See you tomorrow...hugs all around.
bye, mimi! Take care!
Crossy, if you're still here, dedicating the next one to you, dear!
There's nowt wrong with emotion Mimi. it's great to see you as usual.Enjoy your martinis Mimi and tc hin.hugs :D
i think he's eating his beef dinner which sounds delicious, i'm hungry again now :)
Hi all :)
Hi Liz:)
Oh, Liz, so good to see you! I was just leaving!
hi liz!
I hear a Geordie accent in your writing lilli! I love it!
Hi Mimi.
I haven't Ben around much recently. Check in when I can
,
Sorry, dear, empty martini glass beckons....hug to you!
Hi Sue - good to read that franks recovering from his chemo.
Hugs Mimi. See you soon.
yes, he is a much happier camper now, liz!
Will toast a continued recovery tonight!
I'm a southern Geordie Liz.when i'm angry, my southern accent comes out!! lol
which is alot lately with the bairn!13 going on 30!!
Yes I know youre a southerner but still it comes out in some words and the rest I leave to my imagination!
Stuff to do. Busy day. Hugs to all :)
bye liz!
i do now have a more northern accent and the geordie words tend to just come out naturally, but my f.i.l has a broad accent and says alot of words that aren't said today, so after hearing them alot, it's easy to pick up
Bye Liz, lovely seeing you as usual. hugs :)
ussue, happy to hear about Frank. My brother as well is feeling better after chemo and radiation.:)
oh, that is great, blue! I hope he continues to feel better as well.
Hi Blue, good to hear about your brother and hope all goes well for him.
ty:)
waiting for the Zimmerman trial verdict.
hi everyone :) if anyone is stilhere???
hi kate!
i am lurking....

*whispers hi to lurking penquis*
Hi Kate, i was just reading up on the Zimmerman case
you changed you icon pen...what's with the frog? it made me smile :)
hi liliann :) have no clue about it, so for once i have no opinion ;)
fireworks!
! didn't have a clue about it, which i why i looked it up :)
congratulations sue!!!!! what was your last word?
Yay!Wtg Sue :D
34 left here
my icon is my new granddaughter Iris Elizabeth. She will be one week old tomorrow. Proud Grama!!!:))
my last word was the last word, the us5/18
yay blue! She has quite a head of hair!
the frog is a puppet named Kai....his mouth opens via a lever for your finger....he's wearing his everyday tie in this pic....
i!can only see you old icon Blue:(
refresh lill
it doesn't work,i've tried that before when people say they've changed they're icons. It should be there tomorrow
ok, I am going to go get some dinner, bbl
hi blue :) adorable... congratulations are in order for the proud grama!!!!!
she was 8 pounds 13 ounces.
Bye Sue, tc hin :D
That's a good weight Blue. Was she a natural birth?
take care sue:)
that's a big baby! bye sue, see you soon. sometimes you don't see it until the next day... but you could try closing babble and going back in, sometimes that helps lil.
Yes she was.
no, that doesn't work either Kate
first child
like sue, i require sustenance... will bein and out trying to forage for victuals ;)
Lil, are you on facebook?
Ouch!! When i see her i'm sure i'll say she is gorgeous :) Congrats to you and her family:)
yes Blue, but i don't go on very often at the moment
sjomeone changed an icon a few weeks ago, it was two full days before i could see it... have patience lil. does that make you a first time grama blue? or just hte first for the parents?
i will go on later today and see some pics Blue
i am down to 20 but it's slow like molasses...
still 61 to go here, listed, but some of the f words are really f@#$%^&*()_ werdz ;)
22 here, and i'm the same as you pen, slow going
Saying that, i went to the loo and come back and getting words i should have got when i started...as usual :)
i have been making up words....down to 16...
lol, my turn next... we all do it! BREAK THEN FISHIES JUMP RIGHT ONTO THE FISHING POLE... ooops caps lock again...
18 here.
haha.. 52
why do i always miss the place to buy bagels and lox????
i don't think i'll know that place Kate, unless it is a bakers or coffee shop
They don't have de4s in the UK
n. y. style de 4/5....maybe ham and swiss with sourkraut on rye?
definitely missing loads of words i should have got earlier and words i thought i'd typed
molly came back!
de4, aye, we have de4 counters in our supermarkets
making food..bbs
What's Lox?
bfn kate
L, a de4 is a kind of restaurant where they sell de4 sandwhiches and other New York style food. Lox is shaved smoked salmon.
Y'all don't have bagels over there either, do you?
yes we do Molly
i must admit, i'm not a bagel person
we can buy them in packs and i'm sure, that in London and other places you can get them with fillings
Really good bagels are the best, but you can't find really good ones too many places.
i like a crumpet
The kind you buy in the grocery store are crap.
best bagels in the world are in Montreal....yummy!
not as bready as NY bagels....a little sweet, too....
Used to go to Ridley road market after a Saturday night out and get lox on bagels! Yum!
I'd put a New York bagel up against a Montreal bagel any day.
i've had them on holiday in mexico and the Carribbean but i prefer toast or a sandwich. i find them quite dry
In London
have you had a real Montreal bagel, molly?
Best bagels from Daniels or the hendon bagel bakery - both in London
I'll head off again now!
bye!
i've never been to Ridley road Market
It was a regular hang out place late on Saturday nights when I was in my 20s.
Bye, again. For real this time!
i've just googled it, in Hackney. i've never been to that one, obviously :0
bye Liz, tc hin:)
can someone clue the oo 6/18 please?
i used to like Petticoat Lane market
oo6, oo and not dark
ty
Yw
well, by making up words, i am down to 14...
make that 13....
figures, i leave the hog, and people start talking about places i've been :( had a friend from canada, who moved back to london, was in hackney... i went to the market there! then he moved to harrow....
i'm doing the same as you Pen, 6 here
big ol' 47 for me ;) i have a chance of finishing after all....
well you must be guessing better than I am, lol....
go, you two, go!!!!!!
i have the list now and as i said earlier, i've missed alot of words i should have got earlier
really fishy words :)
i've just got ho4, as in brit shortened word for vacation. how bad is that after 219 words to get that word??!!
ho ho ho.... ;)
there are loads of great markets all over London kate. i used to live in South London
i always get the four letter words before i get near the end....i can usually guess at those and get them....
i had dinner with an engineer in south london - don't remember the name of the district, but it was south of the thames.... i'll probably think of it...
i lived near Croydon
i've been guessing at alot of words lately pen :D
can someone clue the io 6/18?
io and not dark pen
ah! have not been... i think? i spent a huge amount of time in the british museum and the victoria and albert. didn't even make it to hamptoncourt. was at the tower, but the line was very long... i was actually there to go to the employment office for the tube... was looking into working there
plural of the is 5/10 [em
i should just indiscriminately add that ending to all of my words....
pen*
hi diane :)
probably pen, i started doing that earlier lol
Hi Diane
hi lilliann :-0
hi TraderKate :-)
I have 24 left but I'm nodding off at the keyboard.... too much fresh air outside with the little one. Taking a break :-)
lol...
lol, change out the peepers while you're gone, diane :)
:-)) will do ;-)
argh! just found the crazy bird!
my ten left feel like 1000....
I love Hampton Court. we used to go there alot when we were younger and i love the victoria and Albert Museum, the Science museum, the National history and my favourite was the Imperial war museum
what do you need pen? i'm sure someone has them.... maybe even a lurker :)
how about eo 6/18?
i was only there for 3 weeks, on a very limited budget.. but had a wonderful time, living the local life :)
eo and not dark...just kidding...lol eo6 is eo and alt spelling of the roaring wild cat
sounds like out of star trek's web... eo + george washinton never tells a **e + indefinite article
London is very expensive, especially the city
much better clue lil!!
it sounds like the wild cat Pen
No clues are better here Kate
ty, lilliann....got it....
yw Pen
at the time, the exchange rate just about killed me... 2.5 canadian dollars for 1 pound... but everything cost in pounds what i would have spent in dollars at home... now the rate is about 1.5 dollars for one pound... wishing i could just hop a plane and go...
but then all cities all over the world are very expensive
I thought Britain was expensive compared to the US
bichon came back :)
really Bichon? but i suppose it depends on the exchange rate as Molly has just said
Yes, bleary eyed, but determined to find the las 16. Thought the food was very expensive and the lodgings we had in Oxford.
i've been to the same country a few years running and it could be cheap one year and more expensive the next, depending on the exchange rate
But not as bad as the Scandinavian countries
i found that you'd spend a pound as you would spend a dollar... a cup of tea... one dollar or one pound...but of course, a pound was 2.50 -ish
Oxford is expensive.next time come up North.lots of great walks up here.food prices are just ridiculous here now
the Scandinavian countries are VERY expensive
oxford is rather expensive... and you were there in high season bichon. had yoou been on yourown, you might have found somethings cheaper... most tours get a kick back for bringing patrons to them, and prices reflect it
We really wanted to experience Oxford and glad we stayed there.
funny how people in the scandinavian countries consistently say that they are happy and comfortable with their lives in polls....
Norway is a paradise, despite the cold
they are paid accordingly ... and factor in national health, good free schooling etc.... it all adds up
they probably are Pen, but then there wages are higher to go with their cost of living
et
if you are asking about et 6/21, i don't have it.... :o|
the scandinavians are consistently rated "the happiest people on earth".. despitethe lack of winter sun...
they use full spectrum lights to ward off depression...
there was a programme here the other night highlighting the food prices and that alot of British people can't afford to eat.it makes me sick that the prices of food have gone up but the supermarkets are still in high profits!!
lol sorry, typed in the wrong place, have a house full of dogs today and out of stors
sorts I mean

i feel like a trip to the PB... SUGARY ENDING IS: O-S-E as in sucrose, lactose, glucose....
ah, that makes sense
why would that be pb worthy?
desirous of a very large bowl of chocolate ice cream right now....
well, practically spelling out the clues can be frowned upon, but to ACTUALLY spell it out is an out-right no-no... as in O-S-E...
ah. well, it kinda seems you and i are the only ones here, so we can stretch the rules a bit, yes?
Rules are made to be broken, aren't they?
he7 please?
i figure, it's the end of the night, there are lurkerz out there trying to finish....and improve so i try to toss a few out when i can.....just don't toss anything out before the 12 hour mark...

HI
thankee
Hello hootowl! How are you doing today? Welcome to grid.
yw
Hi there, hootowl.
that's him peach!!! he was perfectly vile in the film!
hi peach - how are you?
Hi Min - missed you
i am horrendous with names - especially famous people....
Yes hootowl, it has been quite awhile. Where've you been?
He is a great actor though. But yes, his character was vile, indeed.
jess - what else?
Hootowl, I'm doing OK. How have you been?
oi8?
Roth usually plays bad guys, but he is so good at being bad!
I have been showing a sure sign of old, watching old TV shows and movies and being able to name most of the actors and actresses!
i saw him in something else i really liked... it'll come to me (eventually)
An oi 8/40 word is grease plus the st5/10 word jesdraggon
oi 8/45: a rock... compound word
Busy peach. We moved into this rental in October thinking it was better than the cheapies we were in before and it's one disaster after another at double the price!
thanks, kate
starts like grease + word for rock st 5/10
and next jess?
oo6?
oi8 is what you use to sharpen knoves
Oh, hoot, that is such a bummer. Did you sign a lease or anything?
oo 6/18: OO + NOT HEAVY OR NOT DARK
Was it like "The Money Pit" Hootowl?Sorry to hear about it.
yep! 2 years!
caps lock - again, sorry for yelling :(
thanks again :)
ouch!!! taht hurts hoo!!!! can you get out of it?
You wre yelling TraderKate? Funny, I didn't hear a thing! :)
Well it started with the guy who showed us the place saying they would spot clean the rugs, have the lawns mowed and the gutters cleaned.
Didn't happen
Hoot, Kate is right about getting out of it. Can you make the owner pay for anything that goes wrong?
all night long i have been hitting the caps lock button, and then enter, before looking, but now we're pressed for time to finish, so no time to re-type
5 left
Teah Maybe Kate, if there is a fire
drat! taht's not right hoot! is there a landlord/tennent board or something to get things done or the rent reduced?
1 left :)
Perhaps small claims court would be the answer.
whaat else jess?
just list the 5 you need jess
GO, JESS , GO!!!!!!!! caps intended...
us5?
We have "rental Agents". Never see the owner, could be on the moon. We know this one is in CA because we had trouble with the bathroom sink and they had to pick one in Ca - arrange to get it to Tn and then get around to installinf it!
us 5/18: us + french "what"
use a really high point tile
The old one is still in the garage tho he said he was taking it to a warehouse.,
that's firewords, thank you thank you
french "what" is the back end of the canadian knit cap
what on earth is that word supposed to mean?
Congratulations jesdraggon on your fireworks! Good for U!
cjongratulations jess!!!!!! woooot!
We were also told we could swap stoves but they wouldn't do it and we finally joined Angies list to get it done.
no dictionary results
Mine is a plain self-cleaning gas range about 30" hi, theirs was a fancy convection job with half the oven space, 3" higher than mine and filthy!
That's in the garage too!
what a nightmare hoot! i hope it all gets done and you live in peace for the rest of the lease... but being in the USA, how about suing for breach of contract? both verbal and written.... they have to rprovide what they said they would in a timely manner...and surely they are obliged under the law to rent a place that is habitable under heath/safety/fire code????
Oh congrats jess - got involved in purging instead of helping!
Well it depends on where you are. Here there ARE apparently NO rules for rentals!
purge away hootie! gotta get it off your chest! otherwise it'll eat you up... and they don't deserve that much power over you!!!!
Just don't give up, hoot. There are lots of landlords out there who take advantage of people.....just find out whom to contact.
