hi erda :) i'm not staying up, way too tired, gonna save those 177 fishies for tomorrow :)
Doing fine, Judy -- and you?
way too late for me judy, been up late and rising rather early the last 3 days, dead tired...
Me too Jilli! Having lots of rain here in the last two days. Weeds are growing nicely.

needless to say...
good evening
hey moon :) ow ow owooooooo!
heya tk
el8, we are so happy, the chuck it all!
all 8s (:
oooh!!!! nbs/nbt.....not bad for dead on my feet, guess choclit really does cure everythung!
Amen, Kate.
can i get a witness??? i need a true believer to step forward and give testimony to the great power of choclit...don't be shy folks... the gods of cacao are benevolent, and the congregation is anxious to hear the word of the bean!
methinks someone's chocolate had espresso beans in it lol
Midsomer Murders had me in thrall -- it's over now so I can get back to this.
wb jilli ^^
Please pose that question to stiddie.
blasphemer!! repent of your impure thoughts lest the choclit and babble gods smite you!!!
<---- thinkin' i'm a bit tired.... whaddya htink?
i'm probably in the PB until next tuesday....
Naw, don't think so.
stiddie said she was coming back fo rthe flip.. she must be hip deep in fabric swatches and paint chips....
maybe... but I have been touched by the noodly appendage and blessed with a vision of the best way. The Great ragu, himself, has told us Pasta is the Way
Besides, we can get stiddie to put plenty of, you know what, in there.
that's a very good show jill, glad you enjoyedit so much. i got cught up in criminal minds here
Our Pasta, who "Arghh" in the colander, Swallowed be thy sauce. Thy serving come, Thy strands be wrung, On forks as they are on spoons. Give us this day our garlic bread, And forgive us our starchiness,
As we swashbuckle, splice the main-brace and cuss, And lead us not into Kraft parmessan, But deliver us from Chef Boy-Ar-Dee, For thine are Meatballs, and the beer, and the strippers, for ever and ever. R'Amen.
ROFL moon! is the great meatball a lesser god in your religion? what about the great consort parm/romano???
Amusingly, not mine. Altho Pastafarianism *is* actually a religion, of sorts.
that's a scream moon!!!! imust poach it and use it somewhere....
And yea... they have all kinds of amusing stuff like that.
nbt/nbs/>halfway/all ≥7 letters. Mediocrity equalled. Clues anyone?
you rock the grid melon!!!! well done :)
there's a little mermaid in here tho I dont think thats what you're likely looking for lol
but i'll take it, as it has been offered... one mermaidon the fish hook ;)
i don't have an 8
reeling her in... whoa - she's heavier than she looks! those scales must weigh a ton (hahaha)
ruru, i PUT UP with your silly jokes all the time, but not tonight, i'm tired
huh?
:-D hint
{ ru } sorry. I only have up to 6s so far
bottom row grey
not actually insulting you ruru....
tx, TK (:
hi ruru -- I'm sleepy too (as usual)
hi jilli
melon, please tell ruru i'm not insulting him...
heir
gggggrrrrrr
:) scoop
oh there's one
if you can't STAND the heat, get out of the kitchen...
someone who was super happy + photo **
<pulling out the vacuum> for all the clues...
ty mooon :)
Im not allowed to suck that hard anymore =(
*sigh* finally nbt, nbs
grats {rose}
{{{{granny rose}}}
what does super happy begin with
there's a joke in there somewhere moon....
el ruru
el6/18 + photo **
stupid word
ruru - i was trying to hint (obviously unsuccessfully) at an 8... not insulting you - you know i love ya ;)
yea. But I got points!
*leaves bubble wrap on*
:)
g'day {{{kate}}} ruru woof jilli melon
how goes the battle granny?
just went into kitchen, dinner is smelling sooo good
hi granny
*runs of for snacks to fight off rose's dinner chat*
chicken slow-roasted in apricot nectar with french onion soup
kate, some days are good, some bad, as they are for all of us. today is a good one for me. ;)
figure skater to*** cranston was ****d poorly by the judges, he just couldn't PUT UP with it any more and quit competative skating...
ooooh granny! that sounds marvelous! i like chicken cooked with fruits.. gives it a special zest and juciness :)
where do you get apricots this time of year granny?
good clue, Kate!
please note i said nectar...so the answer is out of a bottle, lol
oh
we had chicken tonight too
no fancy smanchy nectar
nbt/nbs
ty jill, unfortunately, it is rather esoteric.. only OLD CANUCK figure skating junkies are likely to get it...
more screwed up is fl7/56... gech i hate the dictionary here bunches
I had halibut for dinner, with asparagus and mash
tinned apricots would stand in well ruru...
i mix a packet of dried french onion soup with apricot nectar, pour it over the chicken, by yhe time the chicken if cooked, it is sitting in a pool of ready-made gravy.
I did it with marmelade a cpl of weeks ago over a fire... jellies work just as smancy ^^
ooh, sounds great, granny!
oooh, must remeber that one woof
and I love soup mixes for that stuff... i use them for tons of things like that
oh, i mis-understood! i thought the french onion soup was another course....
*note to self.. . please start calling moonwoof "lady marmalade "
thats an incredibly wierd way to say it, imo, rose... just sayin lol
didn't find the fl 7...
but a+ for typos!
lol
lots of good recipes make too much for one person
kate, you have to try it. the 2 flavours mingled with the chicken, to die for.
I'll let you after I start canning stuff ^^
I roasted a chicken with herbs and lemon.. i"m so outdated
I thought that too, jilli, until I learned how to package right for longer freezing
sounds good to me ruru... lemon's still a fruit :)
ruru, i love chicken cooked like that, too
*shrug* but then again i love chicken..full stop
yeah.. well lemons ain't apricot nectar :D
Hello Everyone!
i had left over hamburgers and french fries 0- no veg except what was on the buger... (health nut here)
evening puglet
hey pugs
same here... sadly mike is a bovinavor =(
I do that woof -- vacuum packing for some things.
but i bet you had fancy schmancy lemons ruru... organic and everything...
who needed the fl7? just found it
hi pug
we have two meyer lemon trees in the back yard
right. also portioning and boil bags... means I can make a *ton* more stuff now that I can package for single meals
actually i have 2 x fl7
they're great
I already found it... I just think that's a dumb way to say it lol ty tho rose!
ruru, do you make your own lemonade, like they served on our cruise ship. 'cos i really would love that recipe.
We had chicken too--cooked in ketchup and sodapop
oh. unless you meant the 2nd fl7 that I just found.
i've heard of those! we only get "garden variety" boring lemons up here... exce[pt maybe in wholefoods...
That one is a much more normal word, imo
ohhh, pugs that sounds different
hi puglet :)
they're sweet and flavorful
the best lemons
woof, the dead person in the wa5?
ewwwww pug! with alphagetti on the side?
lol sure was lol he was a fl7!
taste kinda like bQ and its really tender
soda pop?
But there's also an fl7 for more screwed up off of the fl4/11
this will make you giggle, over he4, we have a dish called a south australian fl7, it's a meat pie, fl5ing in a bowl of split pea soup.
<-----just realised there are 2 possible fl starts....
oh... and yet another that sounds like a small british apartment
so that's fl7 x 2, peeps
i could eat that granny :)
yep! mix sodapop(like coke) with equall amount of ketchup-enought to cover meat and let it cook really slow
so fl7 x3
duh, thanx woof, i hit 3 and 2 came up. lol
molly had a recipe with coke..
np ^^
I can't imagine
It's surprisingly good, actually. I thought I would hate the soda chickens
the acid in the coke would act as a suuper tenderiser... after all it can take the rust off the bumper of a car...
I dont prefer it for the preservatives, myself, but it's tasty and juicy
wow
maybe with barbecue sauce instead of ketchup....
yea
coke and ketchup sounds too sweet for my liking
I can see the sugary flavors if you balance it with heat
and apricot nectar instead of coke, lol...
better to cook with coke than snort it .. believe me
:D
yeah, the bubbles will burn your nose lining
the coke and bbq sauce, would probably be good... somehting like a beercan chicken....
Sems to me Americans have more of a sweet tooth than Canadians.
nice. Just almost made me snort my tea thinking "coke rub"
I'm sure Keith RIchard had those moon
:D
lol
at least with their meats jill? maybe more of a southern barbecue kind of history..
*dart? Have we done something to offend you?
moon.... you snort the coke NOT the tea!!!
ROFLOL
I remember the order... just couldnt control my reaction ^^
dart????
Im beginning to think dart's been hacked by someone who likes word games =(
he used to chat sometimes
always a smart ass :D
i didn't see dart in the chog....
I remember... But no more sharing... and makes me wonder who I should beat up for skurring him off.
i used to talk to him...
you're just trying to goad him into a response, eh, ruru?
probably me..
Kate, look in Who's Online
he's on-line. well at least his computer is.
i never log out of babble... you'll stay logged in for about 2 weeks i think before you are booted out of the online list if there is no activity...
I love to tease dart
Its possible, I suppose. But I have doubts. If it IS the case, however, lemme know dart so I can kick ru for ya!
poor ruru! no kick ruru moon!
elsa's legacy : the real born free story on pbs this week!
I might have to tho! I shall have to prepare myself for the worst.
he may chuck lemons at you in retaliation....
i have all the r's
I am jealous of you.
that doesn't sound ap-peeling
although he may do it with zest
well done ruru...12 down, 165 to go...
better than an axe to rind...
pip pip old chap
yeah, ruru, wouldn't it give you the pip, though?
and bully and stuff!
orange ya tired of citrus jokes?
that's like asking him to just squeeze out more.
that sounds juicy
when life gives you ruru, make lmonade....
ru, you tart!
around around we go , ruru, do you have a recipe for lemonade?
or is that lemonade gives you ruru
over halfway, nbt/nbs/nbg so bed beckons. Goodnight all...*poof
gn jilli, sleep sweet

good night moon (isn't that a story??) good day granny, glad i got to see you!
now I have to think about cat anus's
ditto, kate. xoxox
Its is an Excellent story, yes ^^
phantom - hoiden
lol, sweeeet dreams ruru...watch out for the kitty farts ;)
or wishful thinking... but still want it there so I can use ru as the clue lol
waddaya mean phantom...i'm right he4
i'll be littered with bad dreams
as long as you don't wake up with a furry tongue...
ruru, that leaves me in little pieces, in fact i'm stoned
i'm sorry you're feline that way granny
please paws the puns so ru can leave bast-fully knowing he's caused us a great kitnundrum
*giggle* ruru
punning without the instigator is like leaving catnip for the dogs ^^
I don't have any as-persians to continue this
and yet you're still here you minx! xD
take a paws everyone, else furballs may fly, you're all minxes
oh damn. I wasn thinking manx

Im missing a *ton* of t's =(
{{urshy}} my dearest, how are you? apologies for not emailing...between the pain and the pain meds and the struggle to return to work...i am so sorry hun
hello rose - all well here and everybody fine - sorry you battling with pain issues :(
urshy, have a few weeks off on annual leave as of tomorrow(monday) will try and email you and bring you up to speed. glad all is well over there, hun

well done, chrissie
I was there not long ago, gj chrissie!
they were all little t words -.-
and they went on for.ev.er.
lol, told you woof....there are some many of the little blighters
lol, told you woof....there are some many of the little blighters
lol, told you woof....there are some many of the little blighters
Are you still going to manage to get away while you're off work rose?
aarrgghh sorry. finger twitched
You would certainly benefit from a break
yes chrissie, and we have lots of films to see, dinners, lunches, breakfasts all lined up too.
no problem. You put up with us, we'll trade you ^^
That's good
between DH and myself, we belong to quite a few web sites which offer great specials.
I just cant get into online coupons. It's such a pain to go thru a zillion and only find one or two that are worthwhile
It might help if we didnt live in the boonies, but i doubt it
but are you taking a trip soon, then?
Only a zillion moon? ;)
seems like even more than all the little t words in this puzzle!
I have trouble just sitting thru tv show commercials and I *know* there's something I want if I cant get thru those lol
Counting non-stop, at one number a second, it would take you 31 years, 251 days, 7 hours, 46 minutes, and 39 seconds to count to 1 billion.
so it may well just be me ^^
yeah, woof. af5 retirement, and once mother mac has fallen off her twig, we are planning to move to a rural town/area which we both like. we are going down there for a few days, in the colder weather, to make sure we can live there
Excellent, then I can take that off my bucket list
oh nice!
See moon, it wouldn't be a waste of almost 32 years of your life, lol
then the week af5, we are heading north to warmer climes to unfreeze, lol
good call. A lot of people in AZ do that too. summer up north when it's warmer and winter here when is cooler
all within our own state of victoria. it seems really strange, we have snow in our nearby mountains, and yet up to the north of our state it is sunny and warm.
and you *say* that chrissie, but it felt like it!
Ive travelled and hiked too much to find that weird, anymore. Altitude makes a huge difference
Love your expression re mother mac
yeah, woof. and i have finally managed to show DH what 'snow' clouds look like. a bunch of them went over our area, and that night our snow fields had their first decent fall for the year.
lol, chrissie..she is so frail, she is like a little sparrow.
you know, woof, it's not such a bad idea for old fo4s. have two homes, which you can use at the 2 different times of the year.
I know people who do, and they seem to enjoy it greatly. And I know more who have motor homes and do the same kind of thing.
they all swear by it as perfect for thei r retirement
yeah, motor home is an alternative. we are seriously considering it.
there are tons of options, of course, but most with the motor homes have a vehicle they tow it with, instead of the all in one version. Apparently thats less expensive
woof, we can have an unit made which fits onto the back of our ute. when we want to travel, we put it into place and hey presto, a mobile home.
nice
omg Im totally not making it
Without the little word worms to distract me, Im nodding off =\
gonna dip out for a whiles. lots of emails to answer, and heaps of jigsaws to do. happy babbling. woof see you tomorrow if you aren't he4 when i come back in a few hours. xoxox
oh, and motoGP is on tonight, so am gonna be tied up watching that...
gn {rose} sleep well
and same. If you see sprite on your return, plz make sure she had dinner ^^
good night, as well, all you lurky types. Have fun!
good morning, all
rest well, woof, and will do, re checking that sprite has eaten...
speak of the 'devil'
lol
yes, I had dinner. My lovely daughter cooked and it was tasty.
well, sprite...and have you eaten today...and how is DH tonight?
thanks for caring, you two
sweetheart....thoughts and prayers for all of you...
husband was a little better yesterday, the pain medication is adequate now, he can manage the pain and even sleep a little. Oh, I need to tell you something funny...
I wanted to buy him a balloon with helium, a huge red heart. But Caya was with me and she insisted I bought another one... a big blue foot with the text: "It's a boy!" We did, and Rob couldn't stop laughing while we tied it to his bed.
oh, heavens...ROFLOL
it was a hoot. Big smiles from the nurses too.
god bless, her. at least he had a good laugh.
yes, it was brilliant. Every time his eye fell on it, he had a huge grin on his face.
and how is my sweet rose today?
having a good one, thanx, hun
glad to hear it. And your husband?
this morning was sad. lower back in spasm. but went to church anyways. was great. DH is well. he is cooking vegetables to go with the apricot chicken for dinner.
argh, such pain :( But glad church was good, and your husband rocks :)
yeah, lol, was bad when i had to struggle to wash my feet in the shower...but was so pleased to get to church. a recently widowed lady was there. she is such a legend. and her faith is such an example to us all.
my son is being a pest, btw. Unwilling to chip in with help, rude, not even willing to help distribute the chores with Caya and me. Frustrating, how those hormones make a helpful caring boy into such an icecold egoist.
am so glad, rose. Makes all the difference, doesn't it, to be able to get out, meet people and be inspired.
aww sprite. he is so typical. he is obviously hiding his feeling. he is so worried about his dad.
probably. But right now I don't know how to handle it. I have to do the shopping today, because he won't and Caya needs days off, I refuse to let her take up his slack.
and so right, sprite. can you reach out to him, when he is alone? boys do not like to show emotion in front of anyone? but mom's are not anyone, they are...well, mom's. talk to him as an equal, on the quiet.
yeah, tried that yesterday. No joy. Perhaps I will try again today. Though right now I feel like ignoring him ;)
tell him you need his help...boys respond to that.
that is what I did... and he said "So?"
they usually like to think that they are now the 'head' of the household
okay...so he is isolating himself...hmmm
he is more like the ass
could DH speak to him...as in hand over the reins to him?
he could if I would tell him what is happening at home... but I don't. I don't want Rob worrying, while he has to focus on himself and getting through the day in pain.
ahh, sprite. stop it right there, hun. let DH do it, and let DH know you need help from both children. DH is much stronger than you think. besides, this would keep Rob linked to his family, very important fact.
you think that would be best? I'd hate for him to worry while I can manage. I always find a way.
you step in, 'protect' Rob from what is happening at home, do not allow Rob to continue as "head' of his family. this will undermine Rob's self-esteem. if you are in doubt, discuss it with his specialist.
thanks rose. I will. Never thought of it that way. You definitely have a point.
sometimes we have the problem so in our face, that we fail to see the other side of the problem.
so very very true :)
crying a little now... thanks again, sweetie.
prayers for you, sweetheart, and all your little family. go forward in faith, dear
I will... can't do otherwise, with my babble friends supporting me :)
*hands sprite a tissue* i'm sorry sweetheart, didn't mean to make you cry.
oh rose, my first tears since it all started. I think they were due. And I cry because I feel blessed with a friend like you.
sprite, tears are good, hun. cleansing, releasing. xoxox
*hug*
hun, email me. dinner ready...must eat...will respond soonest. {{hug}}
will do. Enjoy dinner!
good morning
{{sprite}} you still here?
{{ruby}} will i do, hun?
hiya yes I am here
hi ruby *hug* Did you find the papers?
you'll definitely do, {{rosie}}
yes, Burt had them on his desk, so annoying
ahh, may i introduce the first and foremost...SPRITE!!!!!
lol rose :) Am glad, ruby.
you know, gals...when we finally get together...the whole world will need tranquillisers. LOL
lolol yes... and we won't!
ya think?? lol
*giggle*
oh I love this word... and the animal too... the tiny raptor bird.
first letter? I've just strted and only have ten minutes
O. Night raptor bird.
oh, the baby one
I don't think of them as raptors, more like cats with wings
lol lol
DH is trying to find on the internet, a statement that washed potatoes as opposed to unwashed potatoes are better as roast potatoes. have tried to tell him it 'old' versus 'new'. *sigh* he's not listening..
just found the 8 on my own (an 8!)
he will not accept that new potatoes have a completely different taste and texture.
yesterday, I tried to make vichysoise using the wrong knd of potatoes and I made Library paste instead
whoot, ruby, you rock
well done, on both counts, grin
must go, Mr. Grumpy awaits
just called my love, he slept well last night :)
hug mr Grumpy from me, and have a hug yourself too
big hugs to both my friends!!!
PS: I gree with Roe about getting Rob involved with Master Grumpy!
xoxox to you sweetheart.
ok, will do :)
sprite, good news, hun...that he slept last night.
oh yes, that makes so much difference.
sprite, today you must address the problems at home, with Rob. he will have gained so much strength from a good night's rest.
you are right, and I will. I realise you are right that when I take over, Rob will feel unneeded. And he is needed so much.
yes, darling. that male ego is a very fragile thing. as the females, we need to bolster it so much.
grin, tis true
oh, yeah...and they never realise that it us 'ladies' which keep them afloat.
we keep eachother afloat, I think. Complementary people :)
yeah, dearest sprite. as Don and i do...i'm not saying that they don't contribute...
I know :) We treasure our men, rose. We are the lucky ones.
yup..too true. we surely are fortunate.
am gonna take a shower after this grid, and then rest a bit, and then shopping. Then rest a bit more and then visiting hours. And I will ask for Rob's help with Tim.
good on you, sprite...and i am off to do some jigsaws. hope all goes well, hun. look forward to seeing you at the flip.
enjoy the puzzles, rose, and thanks for being there for me *hugs*
xoxox, sprite. love you, hun
luv u right back :)
fireflies. Bye all.

*giggle* sprung...popped back in to see how you all are doing.
yes
{{ruby}} roast chicken turned out a treat. and tonight we had veggies, no salad. was scrumptious.
how's it going, hurshy
fine, just a sad news morning
hello hurshy
oh??? share hun.
besides the French train crash, what else?
george zimmerman acquitted, while a woman who fired warning shots at her abusive husband has been sentenced to 20 years in the same state. finn hudson of glee dead prob of drug overdose.
please don't say nelson mandela is gone.
acckk!!! no more!! too sad, as you say.
i wouldn't even mind zimmerman so much if like, he seemed to have changed and realized how crazy his behavior had been and feel unbelievably guilt-ridden, you know? that's really all the punishment anyone needs. but as far as i can tell he still seems to think he was perfectly justified.
first A stats please?

or have more coffe
Some clues work for some people and not others, so the more clues we have the better off we are.
i think i will just add another half cup of coffee and some bacon and see how it goes
And the bacon infatuation has even extended to coffee. You can now order maple bacon flavored coffee beans.
really??
wow
Crossy, you are probably looking for that on the internet now.
Here is the link if you want to try it: http://tinyurl.com/bjxmpqx
It got good reviews.
well,i have toasted bacon sammiches, with maple smoked cheddar with baconayse,so i must have something to wash it down with
have had*
and there is bacon salt of course
You were a pig in a former life, or a pig farmer.
actually it is worse that that scrabby.you know the contrast stuff they inject you with to get a better ct picture.how it makes your body hot and flushed and you get that taste in your mouth?.last time i had that i wondered if they could make that bacon flavoured
And at 92/85 I have had enough of this grid. Not a fun one.
I think you might get better flavor adding a touch of bacon syrup and maple syrup to regular coffee.
Haha, Crossy. Well, have a wonderful bacon Sunday!
mmm bacon syrup on jumbo Belgian waffles
And Capella actually makes bacon flavoring drops so you could make your own bacon syrup by adding that to simple syrup.
<----is taking bacon notes
In your Bacon Diary
ode to bacon; "oh noble pig/oh brave old sow/the chicken is a participant/but your comitted now...

and now it is time for crossy's tidbit of the day!!!
China is the birthplace of the first seismograph. Built in 132 AD by a man named Cheng Heng, it consisted of eight metal dragons holding eight carved balls over eight frog figurines. If an earthquake made the ground vibrate, the dragon facing the quake’s source would drop a ball into the mouth of its corresponding frog.
i saw it on the History Channel just a little while ago! Very fascinating! It would tell him which province the quake had happened in.
:))
Just change my icon to Summer Eeyore...
i like it:)) now we need some poohsticks:))
Another heat wave coming this week. Ugh.
my beloved collects pooh plushies and i bought her a classic eeyore plushie done after the style of the book illistations, not the 70,s cartoon.she loves it ordered it right from disney world
Yup! I have a couple of those!

t-i double gu-er
Bouncy, trouncy, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun!
wonderful thing about tiggers,is im the only one..immmmmmm they only one! growwwwllll
now,i have slid off my shelf again
Our kitten is very tigger-ish
we have three kitties as you know a black bombay ,6 years old by the name of sirius black,a second black bombay kitty by the name of Amos and he is just over a year and a female butterscotch swirl tabby that is 14-16 years of age by the name of aberacadabera hocus pocus
Sweet!
she has a half stubby tail as she lost the end of it 2 years ago
so now she can wag her tail like a puppy
so cute!
bout 2 inches longer than a boxer stubby
she has that name because she can escape from any collar or harness
Oooh! A magician!
if she was a boy,we would of called her houdini, but we can use abby for short
Perfecto!
Need a break. Have a wonderful day!
And good bye car.ee! Hello all...((crossy))

well, unless it is tea time in china
LOL
Too bad there is no P we would have Walt Whitman's barbaric ya4
imagine a green elephant and confusing it with an olive..would have to order larger martini glasses...
and some different swizzle sticks
An alcoholic's Nirvana martini
but at least you would be following the doctors orders about just one drink a day
The alcoholic told his doctor, "I do have one drink a day. Vodka, that's all I drink, all day long."
and besides.i am a drunk, not an alcoholic.alcoholics go to meetings
Good morning, all.
howdy,judi:)
Hello judy, and a late hello to miss molly!

welcome, nan .. brb, break time for me
.. back but checking out.. going on a "stream exploration" and need to get ready - later, gaters! poof
nbt, nbs and sloooowing down
That's a new one. Back, but leaving. ??
stream exploration sounds like fun... walter and i used to take the kids adn do things like that ... years ago
we have not used our canoe is years. maybe it is time to pass it down to the grandkids
a unused canoe is a terrible thing
Getting out on the water is nice, as long as you are not traveling near someone yacking on their cell phone.
we have a largely unused kayak. it's so sad. my husband is sad, because he loves it. i'm sad, because it was so expensive.
Why isn't it getting used?
people who are constantly on their cells irritate the bejeezus out of me.. including my own grandkids............. will not even try to include them in conversation.. not hold a meal up for them..........actually.. i ignore them... even left one on her front porch once/ was goint to take her shopping, but her phone conversation was more important then her nana- so i lefrt her. saved myself a bunch of money that time
we have young kids, no longer live near water we can easily access, and he's often traveling the world for work.
110 - break time
perhaps once the girls learn to swim well, we can outfit the family. i love kayaking, too.
Good for you, SMom!
what drive me around the bend is people who use them in movie theares
theatres
last i checked they all had a ringer off/vibration feature andvoicemail box

hi ru
hello Molly
good morning ruby
hi ruby
tee jay, have you followed VanGarderen in the Tour?
Tee jay is such a rare name.....
no, i haven't.
when the kid told her mother what i had done, my daughter laughed and said " i told you not to screw with nana kid and you didn't believe me you may neer get another shot"
Does he tote around little people on his bike a lot?
good story, mom!
I don't think so, but I was rooting for him anyway as there are so few Americans in the Tour this year
yeah.. they're at home doping up for the next race :D
boo hiss
94 words and I'm cooked. Good night, everybody
good night!
sticks a fork in ruby
yep .. she's cooked
*Gets SMom a t-shirt that says DON'T SCREW WITH NANA*
i would wear it with joy !!
Sammysmom; way to go!!!!
thanks good
i was amazed and delighted when i overheard my great grandson, sam, age 5, telling his little sister julia, age 2, " this is g'nana's house jules and we use HER rules here, and her i love you pats and much nicer than her " i told you not to do that pats."
omg... did i kill the chog? don't worry babies... i cannot reach you to "pat " you
<----comes out of lurk.....I think that your g-kids know you well!! LOL
yup
Julia = smart kid
Oops, Sam = Smart kid
When we came to visit my m-in-law with our first, my hubby asked his mom for the paddle she used on them. To which my m-i-l replied "Your're not going to hit that little boy???" Hubby wondered who this lady was....wasn't the women that raised him!
actuallly , they both are molly, some times it scares me... they seem to have perception way beyond their years at times
lol jilly.. i understand
I do paper sculpture. My 5 year old g-daughter came into my sitting room the other day, put her hands on hers hips and said 'Nana you are ALWAYS cutting up bits of paper'!!
dee, did you do the ones in your profile?
Didn't remember I had put any on!! I expect they are mine. I do a lot of apples - a good seller- and 'vases'.
i see animals
I see a giant photograph.
No not that good!! No, those are my 'dot' pictures Havent done any of those for ages
I know there iks a gient photo it wasn't L
Julia + Sam = Old souls
I know thereis a giant photo. It wasn't like that when I put it one it just went like that and now I cant get rid of it!!!!
Is there something wrong with the Lickety Clues. It's a big blank
They look fine to me, Bich.
Deeha, you have to replace the icon picture with one that is properly sized, no bigger than 350 x 350.
Okay, working now. np
bichon, did you try refreshing lickety?
lol

All that gin will slow ya down. : P

Jill is a little powerhouse. She might take you up on that. : D

Ah, but a good thing to be worn out from.
yes, danceathon yesterday. three bands, three styles, potluck dunner & BBQ

No wonder you're tired.

back again - can't stand the pressure of watching Phil in a playoff after making a bogie on the 18th
hi nan :)
it's a bit early, but perhaps a libation is in order ;)
Funny, Kate, I just said that to you in an em!!
{{{{{((((MIMICAT)))}}} are you keeping well? not working too hard, i hope?
i will have to make a dash in a bit, if i'm to have some wine for dinner anb babbling later ;)
Just finished for today and getting ready to make chicken spaghetti. Well, get to dashing then, girl...gotta get the wine!
Does anyone here watch Glee? One of the stars, Cory Monteith, was found dead in a hotel room yesterday in B.C. No cause of death yet.
ah, in slo-motion here, taking my time- not even dressed yet cotton jammies are so much cooler than clothes...
a brilliant chip shot and Phil wins the Scottish Open
uh oh.... there are a lot of glee fans here mimi.
woooot! let's hear it for phil!
im still reeling from the not guilty verdict!
I stay in a Slinky t-shirt dress most of the time, Kate. Cool and comfy.
Good for Phil.... Nan, I'm just following it on a live blog and it's a few minutes behind !! You broke the news !!
i think a lot of people were taken by surprise by that one ivesy. i didn't followit myself.
hi diane :)
Ivesy, I'll be surprised if someone doesn't shoot him. He really will need to watch his back.
hi Kate, Nana, Ivesy, Mimi .... everyone :-)
i think u are right mimi.. not saying the kid was an angel, but he is dead at zimmermans hands
Hi, Diane!
hi lady di, nana,mimi all
I wasn't in favor of a murder conviction but I do think manslaughter was appropriate.
Was that even an option? I didn't really follow it closely.
in the sweet and final hour, truth and justice will prevail.
i think manslaughter was on the table. ..
sorry, diane!
patience my brother, patience my son, in the sweet and final hour truth and justice will be done..thats the song i ws trying to think of..
And I called you Nana.... I did mean Nan !
Gotta go slice onions and start them caramelizing....bbl. Hugs to all.
bye mimi, see ya in a bit. running to the store soon ;)
i am back and forth between fb. lol
John Denver, ivesy :-)
yes diane lol., with the muppets... u always know the songs i mean
i should clear out about a million fb spams in my e-mail... never seem to get the time :(
Kate needs a spam filter on her email. : D
yes i do, or go into fb, and find the games to disable them - or at least stop the posts from them. i have been away from fb so long, i have a hard time navigating there
but alas, I don't have that one on my computer. I must go find it in private hub. :-)
It's not very user friendly.
i had over 1000 emails from my roadrunner acct. trying to get rid of them. only let u do 25 at a time
its a great song diane. im sure u will find it :)
good news, i am on a new shot for my diabeties , only 1x a week.. bad news it makes me feel like jumping out of my skin...
written by Paul Williams .
i'm up to about 2500, slowly getting rid of them. tyring to delete at least 50 a day. i'll get there eventually :( i'm glad someone else thinks fb is not easy to get around on...
yes , thats rite lady di.. forgot he wrote it.
oh ivesy! just when you get the shot, or for the whole week?
ivesy3, there are plenty of us here in central FL who agree with you and don't understand how such a verdict is possible. Manslaughter was a 2nd alterntive, but jury opted to disregard it for whatever reason. Z's life won't be easy if that's any kind of justice. Just something wrong with following someone who's doing nothing, armed with a gun w/hollow points, and going free. jmo
about 12 hrs after i get the shot.. last about a day.. have to take 1/2 xanax to control it.
John Denver: When The River Meets The Sea http://tinyurl.com/nck9vuj
i know mom.. i dont care what the kid was doing, zimmerman had no right to shoot him. esp after cops told hm not to follow.. what was wrong with that jury
my question is when the kid asked z why he was following him, why didn't z identify himself?
ty molly.. i will have to save that to my puter
It's on YouTube Ivesy, you can just go there and search if you forget to save the url.
ok.. thks. i always liked that song. always think of it after my young cousins were killed by a drunk driver.. guy got off with six months.. truth and justice shall be done
that's rotten ivesy, can you have the shot so that you are deeply asleep when the side effects hit?
i could change the time of day i take it.. later mb. didnt think of that ! thks kate..
well, hopefully, it wouldn't wake you up...worth a try!
was going to ask dr. about changing it, but it act. is working. and i dont want to start to round of side effects. this is the only side effect i have and hoping my body gets used to it
Truth and justice often get perverted when they are "dispensed" by those who have no business doing so. A man was beaten into critical condition in Alabama and those who did so left saying "That was justice for Trayvon" http://tinyurl.com/6s22vot
te 6/27, please?
omg! that is just stupidity.. but people wanted justice and they didnt get it.. so they take it in their own hands.. wont change anything though. he is free, trayvon is dead
sorry, nan...
got it
ya, ride it out for a bit, a shot once a week beats 2-3 times a day. how long have you been on the new regimen?
* a ground squirrel that spends all of his time on the phone?
Certainly don't condone any of that nonsense, Molly. Just sad that, despite what's spouted to the contrary, certain things are alive and well in the south as well as other places in our country. And I personally find the gun culture frightening.
think this is my third week.. stabilizes my numbers and cuts appetite.. .. seems to be working.
I hope you find a way to make that shot work for you Ivesy.
ty molly... :)
sounds like the trade off is worth it, especially if the xanax mitigates the heebie jeebies ;) getting xsanax up here is like pulling teeth now.... i used to use it occassionally on really bad days, but now i just have to suffer.... like 1/4 mg. once or twice in 3 weeks is gonna make me an addict...
oh my dr. will only give me 30 , and thats every four months only... i try not to use them unless i have to , then only 1/2.. i dont like the feeling.. would make a terrible addict lol
*!* ta da *!* - thank heavens for lickety!
I've heard similar things about getting medication in Canada, Kate.
congratulations nan!!!!
bye everyone :)
but yet jason had a dr. gave me 30 every month! go figure
ooops gave him 30 every month, not me lol
just the listed ones molly - ones that have been problematic for predisposition to addiction... for the xanax, i think it had a lot to do with a few high profile stars' problems/deaths that did that one in. oxycodone is no longer available here at all.
they r putting more of a control on oxycodone here.now u have to agree to drug testing by dr. if not they wont give it to u
that's la lot ivesy, depending on strength... i like to use it because it does not make me "stupid" just pulls me down off the ceiling. and because it is so quick-scting, i can try to delay, rather than reach for one, because i can give it a chnce to go away on its own, if you get my meaning
Ivesy, most doctors are clueless about addiction.
.. or oxycontin, can't remember which...
typing in the toilet again, gonna make a quick run to the store fjor some wine for dinner and a babble ;)
Oh wow, TMI to the max Kate.
Oh sorry, I thought you meant typing while on the toilet.
TMI???
lollol.. def tmi..
too much info kate
lololol.... no!!!!! wouldn't type, or phone or anything from the bathroom..... eeeeeeew!
ok..bbs need cold drink
clarification.... my typing is crappy, gonna take a quick run to the store
I used to transcribe a doctor who dictated while he peed...and I could hear it....double yuck.
ah - "too much information" got it! ickers mimi!!!! mini-poof, bbs
Eww to Mimi's doc!
Hi all...
how terribly unprofessional!
hi jellen :)
But I'd rather transcribe him than this new crazy dr....you know, the "alien chipmunk with OCD on drugs" doctor I'm trying to do now. Horrible. The worst I've ever heard in 40 years.
howdy all:)) crossy is back!:)
((crossy)) My place smells great---am caramelizing onions...yum.
hello crossy and everybody:))
((mimi)).i have new breadmaker coming next month(last thing crossy needs) but my place is going to smell like a bakery 24/7 :))
howdy foffle
Hi, Fof!
how are you today?
Oooooh....LOVE freshly baked bread....especially sourdough. Now, how can we arrange for you to send me a couple of loafs?!!!
lo
hello everyone
Hi, flosey!
hi flosey
well, the regular store bread is running 2.50-3.50 here.i am sure i can make better bread for a better price here at home
howdy flosey
hi all!
hey,we can make onion bread,mimi!!
(((sue)))
suze!!
taking a minute here and there - houseful of company, 3 kids and their spouses, 2 grands
oh, onion bread sounds good crossy
hi mimi, crossy, flosey, foffle!
wow,busy house flosey!
yup, but lots of fun
get the husbands to do all the heavy hauling around the place before they get dinner
If making a lot of your own bread, buying bread flour in bulk saves a lot of money.
Am caramelizing the onions for my chicken spaghetti today. I make a big pot and it lasts 3 days..tastes even better left over. Would taste better with homemade bread!
everyone pitches in crossy
this is the breadmaker i am ordering was rated very highly for a reasonable price.. http://tinyurl.com/pkj7dp3
afternoon, everyone
howdy jes
Hi Jes
hi jes
how's everybody?
hi jes!
great here, thanks Jes
Hey, newcomers...had nose in grid...
supercute squirrels, flosey :)
hi Jellen, how's your day
thanks jes
Quiet so far, flosey.
Did I tell you I met the kids?
not quiet here, but happy noises, 8 extras - kids and their families
howdy jellen
how did it go, jellen?
Well, I think...very casual. Just sat in backyard with Josh while they played. He said they liked me!
that is great!
casual is good :)
I was touched. The youngest, about 18 months old, gave me a toy car...
that sounds like acceptance, Jellen
Yup! :D
Nice bread maker, enjoy!
best part, molly,is that it comes in under 100 dollars
I'd love to have a bread maker (if I could control myself not to eat the whole loaf).
Could I have stats for the 3rd row E, please?
stats for the e in the far right column please?
Yeah, that one too! lol
et5/18

not yet, mimi.in the next two weeks i think everything is going to happen at once around here, new tv,roku, nbetflix etc
You'll be all set, crossy---watching great shows, munching on great bread and drinking your frosted tini!
:)
Don't forget, I have a list to send you of shows I know you'll like....trust me.
will be glad to get rid of this 20 year old hotel tv i picked up for 60 dollars years ago
Gotta have the Netflix with it, though.
you will be the first brain i pick for netflix, mimi
:)
hi all, not sure who's still here mimi, crossy :) short walk to the store, drenched with sweat... NOT impressed....
I pity anyone who doesn't have air conditioning, or who doesn't run it (why??) when it gets this hot.
is the el8 re6'd to the el6?
hi kate!
simple molly, economics....
and sorry jes, I have no idea about the el8
hi sue :)
jes - el 8 is related to the 6. starts the same
poooop! PB! for me....
el8...e + it gets dark la5 in the summer + Freud's first stage
*slips an ice cream sandwich into pb for Kate*
Thanks, Molly!
ah, there it is. thankee.
tytyty jes :) scrumpdillyishous ;)
saw you met the kids jellen :-DDD
thanks Molly, for el8
Yup, Kate!
thanks molly!
3 seem very sweet, and 1 seems like a handful!
we are at 24c and sunny:)) ac is of with just a single fan in the living room gently moving air around:)) (a nice 75.2 f for my southern friends)
He's 3 years old.
our thermometer outside says 114 F but i think it lies. box is in the sun this time of day.
last week or was it the week before during that usa heat wave,my brother is in henderson nv and it was 117f for the entire week! i would be dead!
30 C (86 F) here, humidex 40 C (104) humidity is pushing 90 %
poor kate:((
We're supposed to be in monsoon here but no rain at all really yet...but now it's humid AND over 100 degrees! I didn't even have to die to go to hell.
acck!
we're supposed to be at 30 C for the next week... and always high humidity here, unless you're right at the lake - a bit better there
first babble to hit the lottery pulls mimi out of that furnace she lives in
lollolol mimi!!!! my sincerest sympathies, i don't know how you do it!
that is our saving grace, kate,we are right on georgian bay
absolutely!!!! i'm right near water, but on a day like this, you have to be ayt the shore under some shade...
with a cooler full of frosty beverages of an adult nature;)
if we had a breeze, it would be a lot better. funny, the wind just howls here most of the time, but we are now literally in the doldrums...
Oh, yes, please, crossy!
i would bring you here ,mimi and set you up in this amazing little log cottage i see for sale on top of blue mountain.you can go out on your front lawn and look out over the trees and see the blue of geogian bay laid out at your feet like a blue carpet shimmering in the distance
I'm serious about moving next year if my lawsuit turns out well....just want a little house with veg and flower gardens...preferably in Napa where I can be a pest to ruru! But Canada isn't sounding too bad either.
That is some great picture you just painted, crossy.
you will however need a nice gazebo as we have horse flies and deer flie that in season will feast upon you but this is just for 2 months
flies*
Mosquitoes love me, too. I have yet to find any kind of repellant that discourages them...must be because I am just so sweet......I can hear Molly throwing up now.
best is deep woods off.liquid form maximum deet.trust crossy on this
my life is good. was just served lunch by my naked hubby :)
how does a gazebo keep the flies off, crossy? I thought they were open-sided
lol!!
molly would not be so ill-mannered as to up-chuck in the chog ;)
do you take the neck collar and lead chain off when he eats or is he a naughty boy today? hehe
mimi, just stop bathing, lololol... that'll keep them away!
he's a good boy, he even gets to sit on the couch :)
we make then so that all open isde can be fitted with mesh bug screen inserts
Luckily, mosquitoes aren't prevalent here. They come after me so badly that it literally makes me feel like I have the flu.
Whoa...just got back! Naked hubby?
naked lunch... there's a movie in there....
Since naked hubby is serving lunch, one wonders what the appetizer (or dessert) might be......bad mimi...
:) Mimi
well, breakfast was served in bed...
on the mountain all outside things like that and the front porcehs have it set so you can add bug screen panels
i was wondering if he served weiners ...
porches
an storm panes in wonter.that way you store your firewood on the porch and do not have to dig through 15 feet of snow to find it
winter
was it served with RELISH jes????
lol!!
Good one, Kate!
hah! chicken soup and a sandwich, actually
well we know how he carried the napkins
Crossy, that sounds like heaven to me.
lollol...
<---doesn't need to pun
we'll have to get you up here mimi, just for a visit... my finances may improve, and i can rent a cottage for a couple weeks... get all the local babblers fjor an open hhouse :)
(((ruru)))
un...
howdy, ru
hi mimi
I am so THERE, Kate!
i know several families on the mountain, mimi, they have been off the power grid for decades.propane for lighting and wood for heat and an emergency genny just in case.for me though,i like my computer too much.need a few creature comforts
too funny crossy
ruru's imperative is to pun at will...can't fool us! hi ruru :)
i wonder how much a plane ticket would cost...
Yeah, crossy, my idea of roughing it in the wild these days would be the Yellowstone Hilton!
Sometimes chat just takes care of itself and Ru doesn't need to pun.
Good afternoon. What's up in the chog?
howdy,bichon
I might be able to afford a plane ticket in the Fall, Kate...will let you know.
Finally put the
((bichon))
AC on
Guess you didn't look back, bichon or you'd KNOW what's UP!
just jes getting served breakfast by her husband who is naked
we are dreaming of busting mimi out of her furnace;))
oh and neeked breffast for dr jes
a naked hubby?
that's the best kind, bichon :)
Sometimes it's better to just let that stuff be.
Just spotted a while back in the chog. Feel left out :(
I'm dreaming of that, too, crossy....every day.
well.. I'd be careful there aren't any hairs in the food
Well, jes, if you have an ice cream sundae, at least you know you've got nuts!
he's probably planning a petite dejumpee
hahhahaha
...and YOU can put the "cherry" on top!
<---Sits back and lets everyone else lower the tone.
we may be all out of cherries around here...
Sorry....shouldn't be working blue on Sunday....
Yep...that ship sailed a LONG time ago for me, too!
blue?
nice ruru, but wasn't it lunch, not breakfast? ... i know there's a can of whipped cream around here somewhere....
Yep, ruru...when one does "off-color" humor they're said to be working blue...euphemism for dirty.
Did you get the wine, Kate?
hi bichon :)
I work Blue all the time then
but sunday's a great day for it, Mimi, no coworkers around to frighten.
hi all, i've just started and was wound up by the bairn but have been laughing loads reading through chat.you've all cheered me up now.even if the chat was lowered to it's usual tone :)
yea, good lady mimi, i wenteth to the shop and procured some nectar of the gods.
*tosses our priesthood application *
hi lliliann :) we can lower it further if it would suit you ;)
I love it when the chat goes a bit crazy....reassures me I'm not the only wild, and crazy gal in the world!
<----picturing ruru at the sunday pulpit delivering the PUNAY sermon....nekkid under his robe...
I can work it back to "do you have a clue for...ty...yvw...how's the weather?...dog story..." if you want L.
Hi Kate, believe me, i can lower it better than anyone :)
lol, mimi, should of seem my ode to a pig poem in this mornings chog hehe
And I am enjoying first bowl of my chicken spaghetti....so yum, even if I do say so myself!
I envision you having a pig shrine somewhere on your property, crossy.
No, i like it like this as i said it cheered me up Molly
;)
what time was it crossy? i may read back if i can find the energy... i must tend to a few blooms first though... they are parched and in need of a good pruning
i do my best chog work half awake and uncaffineated
sec kate..will look
! don't want to be picturing Ru naked under his robe, thanks Kate..lol
was the altercation with your bairn that bad lil?
well, he's not really naked if he's wearing a robe, though, is he?
<----useless until i have got the "high octane" bevvies into me...
*notice how the pastor isn't leaving the podium?*
it all starts really at 08:38 and finishes around 09:15 ,kete
true jess... i suppose he could be totally nekkid... the pulpit would hide the naughtiest bits....
then i found my meds and coffe
....not necessarily......or is that every man's fantasy?!
you don't want to get into crossy's fantasies
i must tend garden bbs
Lets just say kate, i'm sick of getting sworn at and leave it at that
And vice versa, ruru.....
it involves young women, Bacon, and lardons
who swears at you Lili
oh, dear lil !!!!
Glad chat cheered you up, L. I find it much more amusing when it's real chat and not a clue, ty, yvw, fest.
her kid, bichon
King Lear is my new favorite play, lil...."Oh, how sharper than a serpent's tooth it is to have an ungrateful child." And I have THREE...
my 19 year old son is filled to the brim with teenage angst and drama
hah... and how about yours, Ru? much safer than Crossy's, I suppose?
Your child swore at you, how old is she/he?
I can't even take part in this discussion....way too painful....bbl.
good quote mimi.. how a propos :)
much safer.. no nitrates
cjome back mimi!!!!!
My kids are grown and the grands aren't old enough to swear. I'm in a sweet spot
she's 13, but it's not just the swearing, it's the anger!
Isn't anyone going to get all offended and say that chat is sexist and we should not be talking about men's privates? *Waits*
I remember when my daughter was 13. She asked me to drive her and her friend to the mall and then she told me not to be near here, too embarassing
L, that is hormones in your daughter. You know she loves you.
Today my daughter is constant apologizing for the angst she caused me. And she has a daughter herself and is jittery about what is to come
we can talk about whatever private you would like, molly
privates
Hey, I'm just watching while everyone else does what I get criticized for. : D
when her dad is home she is lovely and as soon as he goes away, the mouth starts, and the nastiness, it doesn't matter what i do, it's never good enough.i take her mobile and laptop away and ground her but i still get things thrown in my face and she also gets physical when the anger builds up. she has been bullied alot throughout her life because of her hair colour but is beginning to fight back now and swear at others but hormones and teenage angst ends up being against me
it's a tough lot to offend in he4/4 today, which is fun :)
Isn't the whole idea of "privates" is that they are private?
L, I don't care how angry she is, she does NOT get to throw things at you. EVER.
the stuff you take away, especially the thrown stuff, keep locked up for the rest of the month
She doesn't throw things in my face Molly, that was a litteral expression :)
Oh, that was probably a figure of speech and not meant as really throwing things.
she kicks
She kicks you?
some wise mother told us once that when it comes to kids and rules and consequences to "say what you mean and mean what you say" or there is chaos
i end up throwing things after she has kicked me as i can't chase her, i normally miss and then feel guilty
mm
Any form of physical abuse is not acceptable.
oops, sorry cat laid on my keyboard
i know she has alot of pent up frustration but i'm sick of being the one she takes it out on.we all get frustrated, but there are ways to get rid of it which doesn't hurt others.i need to go and check on her, and see if she is asleep
wow. lillian.. this sounds like you need to get her counseling
sigh..children.they do not come with an owners manual and each is unique
L, I'm serious. it is not acceptable for her to be physically abusing you. I don't care how much pent up frustration she has. She needs some anger management help.
best thing we ever did was get couciling for us and our child when he was younger
it is nothing to be ashamed of,you get coaching and coping advice as well as a ton of other ideas
Agree with both Molly and crossy. Physical abuse is not allowed.
Sorry if I am coming on too strong, but it scares me when people indicate that they tolerate that kind of stuff. Especially people that I like.
they can also help with parental relief periods as well as subsidized activities for your child during summer months
te6/27 please?
((((Lillianne)))) thats a bloody difficult place you find yourself in! But the youngster must be made aware of how unnaceptable her behaviour is. Otherwise, I fear, a monster is being created. Said the Mother of the Year!
If she's doing that at home, what is she doing at school, with her peers?
te + a go**** puts his ball on the tee
ty Molly
thanks
with my son he was a bastion of virtue and help and goodness outside the home.it was the home environment that triggered things.school is much more structured in many cases and children like this need heavy structure
Good point, Bich!
And how is your hubby helping you with this issue Lili?
You should be a team.
bichon, she was bullied quite a bit at school. i wonder if she percieves lil as some to be bullied because she is " weaker than herself" ? perhaps a nightly family conference (by phone) is in order? it may help if she knows that things won't "blow over before dad gets home again days later...
el 8?
anything from the o in the first comum please
hi soodles :)
build on hte el 6 bichon
ol 4/4 = margarine
el8 is the family of click beetles
OT5/10
ot 5/10 crossy
am back, and she's still awake!! just read through chog. she's brilliant with other people and bot a bully.at aschool she is a great student and a lovely child.no problems with her bullying others but she has been.she is also my carer when her dad is away which also puts stress onto her and she helps her grandad and his neighbour with special needs.she is just a gobby, horrible teenager. i wasn't as bad as her and didn't get to be mouthy until i was 15
ty jellen.always forget the old margerine term
ot5 that sounds like a wa5 mammal
ty Kate
ty,kate
ol 4/4 yoo
Definitely think counseling would help. If she won't go, you can surely go by yourself or with your hubby
{{{{liliann}}}} G&T anyone???
L, her extra responsibilities because she needs to help you, do not justify her physically abusing you.
too*
what's G&T?
the problem is, we are very much alike and argue all the time.i won't let her get away with alot whereas her dad has more patience
Gin and tonic
Kate, check your em if you can...you'll laugh.
no, you're right Molly. i've already told her that she needs anger management
L, would you tolerate your husband kicking you, or hitting you? Why justify your daughter doing the same thing? It's not right.
my husband's never here Bichon, and i wouldn't always be able to make my appointment.she calms down alot when my husband talks to her on teh phone and obviously blames me for her whole life
No. Molly as i have been in a physical marriage before and left
I have to get out of chat now. These kinds of stories about physical abuse really bother me. Best of luck dealing with this L.

hands annie back a fresh glass with one glistening drop of condensation running down to the base...
lovely, thank you
sigh... off ot look up what a mouloe is...
Moules are mussels kate
Then why not just say mussles? Is there a difference?
Moules is th e French word. We had Moules Mariniere, which is white wine, garlic and onions
Because Moules sounds nicer
looked on wiki, lil.... not a fan of seafood (unfortunately) but it does look/sound good - especially your variation.
Ooo la la!
whenever we go to an Italian restaurant we always start with a big bowl of mussels. yum!
same reason they say escargot..sounds better than snails:)
the dish is mussels and frit.. fried potatoes, customarily served in separate dishes/bowls... or even in the pan
exactly crossy :)
Pretty words for slimy things.
i make a killer sweet potato fritte
sweetmeats....
I'm not a big seafood eater but i do like mussels and have eaten snails and i do like prawns but not into crab or lobster and i'm not a big fish eater, especially fishy fish and ones with loads of bones in
i mean sweetbreads...
love a good english beer-battered fish and chips (even like the mushy peas)
L LOVES mushy peas! Bring them on!
i think it's time to forage, getting a wee bit peckish ;)
i was going to say, sweetmeat is sugary, i thought you did mean sweetbreads Kate :)
kate,i could make you some halibut in a german beer batter and chips done crispy plank style from fresh ontario russets that would bring a tear to yer eye
Shut up Molly :D
mushy peas for molls... crossy's f&c for me!!!!!
We all cry every time Crosshair cooks. : D

*Worried that Annie will drive from her living room to her bedroom*
sun is over the yardarm here.time for a snort!:))
I've had Tuna steaks in Jamaica and Swordfish steaks and they were nice but i can't eat tuna out of a tin anymore. I ate too much of it with mayonnaise and sweetcorn years ago and got sick of it
Tun on a bun L, tun on a bun. And mushy peas on the side.
Yuck!!!
If i ate that, i'd throw up all over you Molly :)
oh, don't mention throwing up
i'm sweating here! I closed my lounge window as i keep getting a waft of horse manure from the field opposite!! when i was in my front garden today pottering about when th wind blew it stank!i'll have to put a peg on my nose tomorrow!1 :)
Sorry Peri, but atleast you have stopped now :)

Fri I ate the fish stew I had made. I had it for lunch and for dinner.
I had some in the freezer and I threw it out today.
Ew, do you think it was bad fish?
I was running to the bathroom for various reasons :(
maybe if it came from China. I have heard bad things about talapia from china. I did not check the package.
it tasted good tho
I don't eat a lot of fish, just for that reason. I know it's good for you, but I have nowhere to get it fresh.
i remember you saying that you had made fish stew Peri.I've seen Tilapia in our supermarket but never had it before
Hi Mkg, i don't have any 8's yet, sorry

The only 7's i have mkg is a fl7,40, a British appartment with one or 2 bedrooms
the one you have.. change the lasr vowel for another ko 4
fl7...more fl4/11
ty for the ko. got it.
fl7...one who is bouyant on water
And off I go to the PB!
got the fl. ty.
ty got the fl in water.
And mkg goes to the PB too.
and the two other fl7's that Molly just clued, even though i started to clue them ...lol :)
ah, bummer, i have that wa5 :(
dont have the fl more of the fl 4 11.
Pardon me L, I will quit cluing now.
oooops. sorry about that. pb for me.
fl 4/11... comparative form mkg
I'm joking Molly, you should know me by now :D
I give up, re6/18 pls
kate, confused. dont get it.
i can re 6/18 to that peri, i want to give up too
good clue, ty kate
mkg - were you asking for the fl 7/56?
I like your clues Molly, so how way and come back
the fl 7/56 is the comparative (more, not most) of the word before it.. fl 4/11
you got it okay peri?
yes indeed
i tried that with both fl 4/11s. no luck.
first fl 4/11... a diamond with an occlusion is said commonly- to have a fl 4/11
mkg - as if the root word ended in "y"! sorry!!!!
got it. ty ty ty
woooot!

Kate can you give Cool and me clues for the el and fo8 please
bye peri :)
Bye Peri, i'm glad you're feeling better and happy reading.tc :0
hi again all!
fl8 for me
el + not early + you get *** of things you don't need
el 8... add 2 letters to the word before it (short for things like passport, driver's licence)etc.
just the fl8 for me
fo8...fo4 that rhymes with yellow egg part + ta4...a story
fl8 is a rose, lilly, petunia etc but sounds like a broocolli spear
a broccoli fl....... - bit of the tips of the plant
Ty Molly
ty
Ty Kate aswell, but i didn't have any other el's
The broccoli word is spelled differently.
That's why when i read a clue about brocolli earlier Molly, i didn't get it as i kept putting the actual word in
Sometimes when people clue a "sort of" word, they think people will get it. Doesn't always work.
I've just read your fo8 clue Molly, ty
It doesn't always for some but it does for others Molly.i suppose it depends on what we all know or how tired we are at teh time
I figure very few clues are going to work for everybody, so I do my best and hope....
hi sue :)
Hi Sue :D
hi kate :-)
and lilli! :-)
is frank almost back to himself sue? hope he's feeling a whole lot better
yes, he is doing much better now, Kate! He is very glad of this, too
he still has one toe that is pretty sore but even it is getting better (one of the chemo drugs attacked all his nails, fingers and toes, and they were all quite sore and bleeding)
glad for both of, it will be nice to lead a somewhat "normal" life for a while after all the hospital/clinic time..
indeed it will! And I've just retired, again, so we finally have some time to spend together.
hope he has some nice comfy sandals to let the little piggie breath ;)
he does indeed - he didn't want to wear them before because if he hit his toe on anything it was pretty agonizing, but now it is a lot better
are you jplanning any celebratory outings this summer? maybe a little road trip?
a big fat layer of gauze and cotton balls helps, but it'd look funny!
so far no big plans, he's only been feeling better for about a week, but we do have a holiday scheduled in November
and of course we can take off any time we want, really, just have to make sure my son feeds the animals and walks the dog
where are you planning to go in november?
Hilton Head Island, off South Carolina
we have reservations there for a week, and will drive there and back, will probably visit my dad in New Jersey and maybe my niece in New Hampshire
woooot! get your motor running, head out on the highway, lookin' for adventure, in whatever comes our way..... (really bad singing here)
:-)
sounds like a great trip sue! i hear it is lovely down there in the fall... is it a thanksgiving jaunt?
yes, it is, should still be pretty nice then
So, your plans to travel around and perhaps visit Babble people in Canada didn't pan out?
wolvie is down that way somewhere....
I haven't scheduled anything yet, Molly, so it may wind up waiting until next year - but we shall see
Next year...
my goodness - going through the list - I seem to have missed rather a lot of te words!
oh dear - crossy will not like that it took me so long to find the wo4/11!
fireworks!
congrats sue
thanks, wv!
congratulations sue!!!!!
I am off for a while now; may be back later to clue for a bit
teach came back :)
just got back from dinner
where did you go?what did you eat? who were you with??? enquiring minds want to know ;0.....
enjoy hilton head and the beach sue - we will be down in myrtle beach next week for a week
didn't gop anywhere - leftovers - but mine was crab cakes from last night and fresh corn on the cob
bye sue :0
<---Wants to go to Hilton Head or Myrtle Beach
mmmmm i live for fresh local corn on th ecob... nothing like it!
going to myrtle beach because grandaughter has a dance competition there - but i love the beach
and i love all the seafood restaurants
the corn on the cob was really good tonight
ah, so lots of good reasons to head out! how old is the granddaughter? i hear the seafoood there is wonderful, and so much fresh-caught... like our east coast up in hte maritimes.
granddaughter is only 7 - and the grandson is 2 1/2 - she will take classes during the day and competes in four categories on Monday and Tuesday evenings
we havce a condo right on the beach that sleeps 6 and has a small kitchen
they are so cute at that age - what sort of dancing does she do? 9i used to do irish dancing many moons ago)
spent a wonderful vacation in Novba Scotia several years ago and enjoyed the beaches and food there
that's great! and with a kitchen, it really cuts down on meal expenses...have your morning coffee whilst contemplating the waves rushin to the shore, then rush into them yourself... sounds like heaven!
would love to have her take irish step dancing but she hasn't yet. she loves gymnastics best but will not compete in that. She will be in tap, ballet, and lyrical in samll group and a tap solo
Wow, a condo on the beach...nice.
wherre were you in nova scotia? i spent 3 summers in the big town of digby (world's highest tides, dontcha know....)
part of a large resort so there are also lots of pools etc. - never been there so i don't know what we are getting into
wow! she has a lot on her plate for one so young! sounds like a well rounded basis for dance - the time will come when she may have to decide - it's good that she gets exposure to all kinds... and the tap will help her with the irish (if she does the hard shoe). i loved gymnastics when i was her age - though i was hopeless, lol
we were in PEI for 4-5 days and then 2 weeks in different places in Nova Scotia. Saw lots of pla es with the high tides and long walks out in low tifde. Were in Parsboro. Loved Cape Breton. We were campiong and based in 4 or 5 different locations all around Nova Scotia
My husband is a geologist and worked in Parsboro studying the tidal changes for use in generating electricity. He was there right after college so it was a while ago
you sure got around! i am jealous that you have been to pei... did you see anne shirley's house? er i mean l.m. montgomery's house? the tides in nova scotia are truly spectacular! couldn'r believe my eyes (coming from lakes at home). the cape bretoiners are poobably the friendliest people on earth... so inviting...
that sounds fascinating teach! harness more of mother nature's power to generate hydro! is he still in the field? or at least still in geology?
we loved the music of cape breton. every night there was a "caligh" in different communities. Yes, we saw the house and also the set that they were using fo rhte tv show.
he is basically retired though still does some consulting. worked here at the university in the geology department.
i'm so glad you got to sample some of the local "flavoour" of the cape bretoners... they are unique in canada... kinda french scotsmen... difficult to explain, but what a combo!
their music is unique and can recognize the sound of cape breton music - but also places for bagpiping and highland dancing there also
northern cape breton is very much like west virginia - hills and deep valleys
i am hoping that one day a paleontologist will appear here... rocks are cool -especially since i have been doing a lot of research for mining and oil companies (for investing, not on contract).. i find them fascinating - especially plate tectonics..
the consulting my husband does is analyzing geological maps for investors in order to predict where to drill for oil and gas
i was down that way... carolinas, kentuky etc. near the end of high school, i remember all those hills... very pretty! altoona penn. was another story though....thought i was in a mini san fran...
So Kate, you are doing research so you can invest in, what?
that's my kind of consultant teach! there is a lot of demand, though for oil and gas not quite as much with the fraccing going on...
publicly traded companies
fracking is quite an issue all around here
So you are invested in the stock market?
it is becoming an issue everywhere.... as it should be.
yes
Interesting
there is no easy answer to the energy crunch the west... and now the east is experiencing... but what fascinating work! whenn i was in college a buddy of mine had a brother in law who ws a geologist for shell. he went all over the world. lost a couple of toes to frostbite up north many moons ago.. not always safe work!
yes it is
hello all....can someone clue the he 6/21 please?
dont have it but will look with you
ty...
HE 6 - not gay - given as clue earlier which i didn't get, but now i do
he6 is a shortened word for someone who likes the opposite sex
Hi Teach and Pen :)
hi lill
hey again all
hello stid
Pen, not Bi-sexual, but he*** sexual.a woman likes a man a man like a woman :)
Hi again Stid:)
ty, lilliann....got it
i am down to three...
yw.67 here. i started far too late
go pen go
33 here
teach, Grant cleaned up my home-made (not by me, by a friend of grandparents in the 70s) mountain dulcimer today, and now we need to restring it -- any suggestions for type of wire for restringing?
go lilliann go! I am down to 76 myself, but not sure if I will finish today.
Solid cluing for the he6
plus my husband phoned and i was looking for vignettes for \germany and the speed limit for coaches in Belgium and i looked at tons of sites and none helpful!
oh, that is frustrating, lilliann
our local music store sells a set of strings that are specifically for dulcimers. how many strings do you need - there are 3, 4 ,5 or 6 string dulcimers. mine has 5 strings. the "top" string is the bass string and is usually a "wound string"
I thought it was one of my best clues yet molly :)
this is a 4-string dulcimer
It was. Nifty!!
i'm going to dive in and see what i can find before i end up chatting again :D
I have been reading up on the tuning and such. I wonder if the harp makers in Seattle would be able to find what I need. The local stores are pretty limited.
go lillian go!
then you will usually have two strings closest to you (the melody strings), the middle string and then the bass string (furthest from you). Depending on your area, you will then tune it to either DAA or DAD. WV tunes to DAA but most places tune to DAD
how strange -- what is the difference in the harmonies played in WV compared to other Appalachian places?
you can probably go online and look for dulciomer strings
I'll do that. Thinking I will want to get a book as well, dulcimer for dummies, or something similar.
stiddie came back :) and pen too! did you fw pen?
it sounds the same, it is just a different way of doing it. DAA players also tend to do more finger picking and moving across the strings. DAA uses more strumming - it is supposed to be the older more traditional way of playing the dulcimer
A couple years ago, Grant and I sat down and listened to a lot of dulcimer music, and tried tuning using some guitar strings (I always have extra) but it just didn't sound right.
hey kate!
Mel Bay has a bood basic book. There are also hundreds of free dulcimer tabs on line and on line tutorials. Find a local group or workshops to attend
"ottet" a musical group of river mammals?
hiya stiddie, sorry can't chat, learning about dulcimers atm ;)
*chortle* @ stiddie :)
I will look for that one, thanks teach. Sometimes for a beginner it's hard to know which sorts of things to look for.
LOL kate!
there is something very close to that river mamal in the grid...
thanks kate! I was monkeying all around that one! (obviously)
carry on, i find your chat with teach enlightening...
also good to find others to learn / play with. we have a group that gets together once a week and we all are learning together
it is also special to know the history of the instrument that you are playing - mine was built here in wv
true, but for now... Grant and I will take turns with it. I have a good friend (actually several) who are active in the local ethnomusicology scene and will ask them for groups I might try.
I love that this one was crafted with love by someone my grandparents knew. It's clearly home-built with "found" materials, but I remember picking it up when I was younger and it has a nice tone.
we have a couple in our group who share a dulcimer and luckily we have two groups - a 9 and then a 10 group - and that way they can pass on the dulcimer to the other
that's nice!
and that's why it will be special to you - i am learning to play the psaltery and i have one made by two friends who worked together to make it for me as a gift. It will always be special because of thier work doing it
yes! found an 8!
helloa ll
congrats stid
that is wonderful to have friends like that -- psalteries are so pretty to listen to
hey TO!
my last 8 was the TO -which is a readily known word not like the E8
TO, welcome home ;0
hiya stiddy
Hi TO.
have only been playing it a little bit more than a year - so still learning a lot - will spend tomorrow afternoon with our group of psaltery players
I got the F 8 :-) a favorite topic to teach!
Hi TO :)
well, I know "elktater" isn't it... *hm*
hi molly hi lil hi teach
there are 2 f 8's stiddie, sure you got a favourite topic? lolol
Hi TO - earlier you mentioned 3 styles of dancing - wanted to ask what you were doing
elktater... mashed moose?
cajun, swing and zydeco
There is only one fo8, I think that is what she meant.
rofl, that's what I was thinking: do you want ketchup or tartar sauce with them fries?
actually, those were the muscial styles
nice, TO!
EL 8 - supposed to be the family name for clicking beetles - googled it
;)
dances were zydeco, swing ( east and west coast), waltz, two step, mamou two step
serioulsy teach! I just had a click beetle in the kitchen. like a mexican jumping bean!!!
hm.... *thinking* and yes, molly, that is what I meant. my figerns are missing a lot of things today
the passport or driver's locence of one who makes one very very happy?
sounds like some fun times dancing - don't know if i have heard of mamou two step
I would wonder if you were teaching the other f8. : O

:(( i can commiserate liliann.... as you know my typing is beyond reproach hahahaha
i'm missing a 7. hang on and i will look
molly i can only find one video
re7 please Kate
i saw you post earlier about that, are they not posted on the roads? or are coach speeds lower/higher than for cars?
i'm down to 18 so not doing so bad
re 7.... put air back into the football....
lorries and coaches, cars with trailers/caravans are different speeds than cars
tjo blow up a baloon you in***** it.... not really but in the grid if you blow it up again you re***** it...
my husband has driven all over the world with trucks but never coaches and they can go faster than trucks

Why do you keep saying nifty Molly?
Because it's such a swell word.
molly is re-visting the 40's speech patterns methinks ;)
that was a word we said when we were younger

Some people like to use words like that to sound unique.

hi m9 :)
<----- typo queen of babble.... :-/
When I grow up, I don't think I'll want to go back again :-)
get in line behind me, kate!
:))
oh, btw -- I inadvertently used my patented stern mama look on a friend's child yesterday and the kid cried... *sigh*
we can be 28 together???
don't sigh... good for you! i have a similar look - once in toronto, stopped a panhandler in mid-word with the look....
I made a student cry the other day and I didn't even give a stern look! She spilled water on her desk and I told her she had to be careful with her bottle and she started crying.
Oh no stid! Poor little thing :-)
the kid obviously needed it! made him/her stop and think... not likely to transgress like that again...
kids cry waaaaaaay too easily these days....
Feeling so dumb
Some people are created more sensitive. Believe me, they don't want to be that way.
And pushing them doesn't "toughen them up".. it often makes it worse.
Hi again...
Hey Jellen!
Hi
I'm VERY sensitive. I cry at the drop of a hat & i don't want to be that way!
Don't feel dumb, rocky...we all have been beginners here!
No i just found a word i should have found long ago
Exactly Min. I'm not that way as much as I used to be, but boy it took a lot of work.LOL
well done rocky!
But you found it! Yay for you!
don't cry min... we love you! we are all created differently
Ya i ges
I don't cry much -- usually -- and don't really understand why some people do; but I certainly don't like to trigger other peoples' waterworks!
jellen came back!!!!
(((min)))
hey jellen!
And Min.. I've come to terms with the fact that the problems associated with being that sensitive, I wouldn't give up because then I'd have to give up all the positive aspects too.
you're going to get a lot of that rocky, we all do, just go with it. don't beat yourself up over shoulda-coulda-woulda....
Usealy peeps who are sensitive are really nice peeps
Yup. True that rocky!
On the other hand, there is something going on when telling a child "no" in a calm voice about something that is previously agreed upon/understood triggers tears. Speaking as a teacher now, something like that (and it happens a lot more nowadays than it used to) is a red flag and I go talk to the school counselor.
i get that stiddie! i literally never cry (not sure that's a good thing) but i can be a bit hard... especially on kids... funny thing is, they like me anyway... because i have rules and structure - not something they all get at home.
I usually see peeps around EAster
RURU!!!! ((hugs)) what fun to see you this evening!
Although a way to get over being sensitive is to go through some toughf stuff in your life
ruru came back :)
Hi Stid
being sensetive does not mean you can't be strong too rocky.... but i get you.
I never cry...
and rust never sleeeps ;)
yes, once they are used to me it generally settles down. :-) Which is good. otherwise, as long as I know they aren't experiencing out-of-school issues, I generally ignore them so they can calm down.
But it's a case-by-case basis. Different kids need different approaches. Just like in a family.
kids actually want definite boundaries and rules easily understood, imho... they don't get enough of it.... and we now have 2 generations of kids that have such a sense of self-entitlement! and no one to blame but ourselves... present company excluded, of course
of course, kate... LOL
The senistivity starts at home alot of the time cuz parents spoil thier kids and then they go to school and for the first time they are told no
Hello rururocks! How are you doing today? Welcome to grid
i'm not saying there aren't damn good parents out there... there are just too many that will try to throw money at a problem rather than spend their TIME to get to the rooot of it and correct what's wrong
I am known for being "strict but fair" and the kids respond to that. I wasn't sure it was the right approach (it comes pretty naturally to me, I am NOT a cuddly teacher, and I do not talk as if asking for permission)... but after March and how the kids responded I know it was working for them at least.
you got it oin one rocky! very astute of you for a 15 year old...
adult tears are oftenfrom something you know not of. Same with kids. It helps to watch and listen.
very true, roundbarn
and touh stuff makes peole more sensitive--often--to other people, to living.
hi rooundbarn :) glad of your input :)
unless it makes them harder-edged
if they crawl into themselves--or you do.
Bulling also has alot to do with it cuz the emotions just sit there and build up and then at every tiny thing they let it all out
here you are a stranger, stidmama--yet I am noticing how you are progressing with your loss, talking to your mom, talking abt your kids--I son't know you but I am more sensitive to you
a defined set of rules didn't make hundreds of generations 'harder-edged", the difference is in not re-inforcing the rules and standing by the need for correction - and yes, punishment as ewarranted
Hello RoundBarn! How are you doing? Welcome to the chog
rocky - bullying has been a problem since the beginning of time... the difference, is that now we are trying to do something about it, but it is hard to make kids understand about it... it is more complicated than it looks at first glance
i understand that
Min, do I have your phone in Burlington? Maybe you'd drive out to the lake.
But since it wasn't dealt with earlyer its much harder to stop
My cell is lost--have to get a new one tmr before I leave Thurs. I hope I can get the same number. It seems crazy to connect my phone in Vt for 10 days.
thanks roundbarn -- I am a person who believes strongly in not mind-reading, so I am quite straightforward.
You should be able to keep your same number, roundbarn -- as long as you are not moving a long distance?
i must excuse myself from the chat log soon, "shameless" is coming on....
Actually, since the meet-up is not happening I will not be in Burlington. I am going to try again at another time to do a meet-up on New York or Connecticut maybe next summer.
I got the phone in Wis so it's 262. I live in 217&, Illinois! And Vermont is 802! I'll ask. And you oknow what--then it will show up.
Every one who has been bullied feels theneed to bullie some one els so it never stops
Ah, kate, thanks for the help this evening! I have to go, too. I have decided to work on my knitting project (a random-pattern scarf) when I watch TV with my fellows. We are going through the whole star trek series (all of them!) this summer!
rocky - most bulllies have very low self -esteem and they lash out at others they think are weaker in some way than they are... not always physical strength, sometimes it's a simple as targeting a smart kid that has very few friends, and no one to help defend him from the bullying
I hope you-all have a wonderful week coming up. **scatters choclits and ice creams for everyone** *poof*
<-------wants ot move to stiddie's for the summer to watch star trek!!!!! can i can i can i ???? huh? hu? hiuh?
