Here's the story: I am on opioids, and periodically, I am tested to make sure I am taking them. They switched to a test that used a strip of cotton on a stick that you suck on until it is saturated. Wel, I had dry mouth at the time. The test came back negative, which I only found out on my visit two months later, where the doc sternly warned me I needed to find a new physician, as he suspected I was diverting my meds.
and as all doctors should know, opioids can give you dry mouth :(
i have realised that my brain no longer registers the lower levels of pain, i just sweat or feel really hot. the information sites say FM sufferers have a low pain tolerance. i think it's the other way around.
Well, I blew up, and was quite articulate in the heat of the moment. "How DARE you toss aside five years of your own clinical experience with me over a test that just might have been wrong?!" I demanded a urine test, which of course came back positive. He's been most solicitious since. In his defense, pain docs practice with the DEA on their necks; it's as if there's a third person in the exam room.

well, i did work for 13 months on a fractured ankle, before it was diagnosed.
the people I know who have fibro all have a high tolerance for pain.
I confess to having extreme low tolerance to pain :-)
maybe i need to go into wiki and correct the entry. and also let the company which supplies me with anatrin the facts of life.
I was to have had a hip replacement this summer, canceled it when I felt suddenly better, and in light of my son's mental health needs, which had become more critical. Now the pain is back. I need to call hip doc for a cortisone shot, and plan possibly for surgery next summer (I teach, so summer it is).

I am aware. Fortunately I's been > 6 months since last shot, and, truth be told, I keep putting off the call. My PT guy also got after me about taking stairs. He says the weight bearing when I'm bone-on-bone for that hip is harmful. What can I do? I have a chronic case of bad-assedness.

My son has turned the corner in addressing his issues. I call him "triple diagnosis"_ learning disability/communication disorder/mental health dx (still being worked up)/addiction. As the substance use issues recede, the other issues crystallize. Applying for SSI—again_this time with a lawyer from the get-go.

My surgeon is very respectful of my decisions. While me knees show some OA, I find the knee pain to be referred from the hip. At least in my case.

I was lucky with getting my sister on ssi. When she was in the hospital and they found she had schizophrenia they help allot on getting her goverment help

am glad, pug, so important to have the right help at the right time
puglet, I hope her illness is well managed. My son goes to a "clubhouse" which is a wonderful model for mental health support, where the members participate in the running of the organization, sit on the board, etc. Having a destination where you are respected and treasured makes all the difference.
She does pretty well as long as she is cued
They haven't rued out schizophrenia in my son. No delusions or hallucinations, more disordered thinking and negative symptoms. The docs and the lawyer have been very plain-spoken with him that using obscures his underlying condition.
she is a diabetic too so when thats out of whack it sends the other out of whack too.
Oh, my, pug, that is a lot for both of you to go through.
Getting her to socialize is a big problem cause she has so many voices in her head that she wants to spend all her time with them
so complicated... not easy to manage at all.

The ex's house, about a mile from us, is where the use was happening. ex has alcoholism in his family. Luckily, my kid tells me everything. Onetime kid bought a 40 oz malt liquor, the cheapest, nastiest way to get drunk. His dad saw him head up to his room with the bottle and just shrugged it off, sayin, "well, I guess I can't stop you>" Hell, yes, you can and should have! That's why I call him the feckless ex.

Had it not been for the kids, I probably would have toughed it out despite what the relationship was doing to me. It was clear I stood no chance of raising my kids on any of my terms, and that's what got me out the door. That, and my family nudging me.

hi Annie :) Husband is in hospital because of severe leg pain, has been on morphine for days now, they couldn't find the source and they couldn't squeeze him in for an MRI. Now they have and it looks like they found what is causing the pain. Good news indeed.

If you want to know cool and fun things to do with cars get the same matirial as your car seat and color and make a suit of it hold your hand at the bottom of the stairing wheel and go to a drive through if you do it right its really funny

that is the greatest colour! as nice as the jags are ( real mahogany dashes etc. they aren't very reliable mechanically) and i do not need to mention 12 cylinders...the gas alone!!!

i would really love to get a cottage for a week or two and have an open house.... mimicat and crossy got me thinking about it seriously...
solly took all the pets when she left, but returned shadow a year later. As he outweighed her she found him a bit much to handle.

she was too tender hearted to properly train him when he was a pup and she had the size advantage. I trained him with a couple of commands for my convenience, but he was supposed to be her dog. Pardon me means you are in the way, move, wait means don't run into traffic, ok means you can cross the street now, and kill means make a fierce show of growling and straining at the leash. Also trained him not to bull past people on the stairs, wait until stairs clear.
