Hi everyone, very late coming in tonight
kids have gone to bed, their last night, take them to Victoria Airport tomorrow
hey flosey
hi Rose
Hope you've had a wonderful time and made happy memories flosey
has everyone left?
Hi rose
yes Chrissie, thanks, have had a great time
h everyone :) sorry i can't stay, early day tomorrow, i should already be in bed, but storms had to die down a bit first... lots of thunder boomers!
Hi kate
hi kate, please stay safe. hello chrissie
wow Kate, do you know, that was one thing I really missed when first moving to BC - lots of rain but no thunder/lightening
lightning
hi chrissie :)
hello all - clue for the te8 please
hi ursh, just starting here
Gummy babies are te8
i love a good thunder storm, but most of ontario south of around sudbury has been under a tornado watch all afternoon and evening. i think the last pulse of strong cells has now passed us by. quite a bit of localized damage/power outages... but the way it was setting up, it could have been very bad indeed.
ah, that is very scary Kate, glad you're safe
Help with the corner O please?
oo4, 5
i think we are all fine. carleecat didn't get the worst of it for once, crossy got the nastiest bit... rolling pulses all day, joso would have gotten a lot of the high winds and driving rain
throughout the day
ty rose, nbt, nbs, can get up and face the day now
lol, that's nice chrissie
Bye all, sweet dreams where appropriate :)
How did the Toronto area fare Kate?
bye Chrissie, perhaps see you tomorrow
completely blind to that te8 - another clue please
babies chew on this to relieve pain in mouth
thing babies gum on ursh
toronto got all the major pulses - driving rain, high winds, and a bit of flooding (not bad) that lasted throught the day. they have been clear for a while now. the usual downed trees and power out. burlington and oakville actually got it worse. at one point the maps showed over 1200 lightening strikes in an hour according to the weather network.
good heavens thank you - now i see the gummy bear
rather gummy babyies
wow, son is in Woodbridge, other son will be home to Scarborough very early Sunday morning
i am so tired i must get to bed. granny rose - i hope you are not hurting too much. will e-amil you tomorrow.
goodnight Kate, thanks for weather report
woodbridge fine, scarborough okay too... north - claedon area among others got it the worst. nothing for you to worry about.. but toronto, and montreal cancelled flights today, his plans for travel may have been altered
caledon, that is....
could be, we'll know when we take them in tomorrow
good night ursh, dizgrannnie and chrissie, see you all tomorrow night :)
thanx kate, will look forward to hearing from you. sleep well, hun
hugs to all!!! poof D
hugs Kate
hello all
hi M9
LOL, figures I came in at freeze
nbt pretty easy
but no 8
hey m9. 8's are te and ro
oh I got one!
Thanks rose..Ijust got the te! Like my grandson!
*giggle* have just found out how to keep DH amused and occupied while i sit here doing jigsaws and chatting. bought him a compartmentalised plastic case, and he is sorting through all his nuts and bolts and stuff.
GOOD DAY EVERYONE!
hello pugs
Sounds like fun. :-)
reminds me of how my granny used to give me her button tin and tell me to sort them into colours, 2 or 3 holes...it kept me occupied for ages
My son just hired his little sister to sort his magic the gathering cards :-)
lolol, now i know why she did it...
My Grandma also collected buttons! She had tins after tins of them. I wish now I had some of her collection
I used to love looking through my mother's button box
memories....happy ones at that
slow going tonight, must get to bed, goodnight all
night Flosey hope you get rested up
night, flosey, hope you have a sweep sleep
darn, he's finished...now he wants to know what to do with all the plastic boxes and tins he has had everything in...aagghh, just throw them out!!
nite flosey.
a sweep sleep? is that like the slepp of last night?LOL
lol--sounds like hes bored Rose
lol, told you he had finished...see what he does to me??
Um,... make home made instruments?
to quote sheldon from big bang...he tasks me, he tasks me..
See how many he can nest together to save space in the trash?
rofl, m9.....saints preserve me....
does he play on the computer too
only solitaire....usually just has a lot of emails to answer...
read poetry to you? Rub salve on your chest? :-P
m9!!! don't give him any ideas. i'm worn out keeping up with the ones he thinks up on his own!!
Did you get the big bang reference? :-P
OOhh! Bob Newhart!!
Well Rose maybe he just loves beening around you! And looks to suddle things to get your attention focus on him
lol, m9, yes dear
pugs, i really do love being around him. just the 2 of us.
oh now you're just patronizing me! LOL
lol, m9
"The potato clock, how does it work? Is it a trick clock? Or a trick potato?"
"kids are like pancakes, the first one is always a throw away"
nope, sorry, m9, you just lost me, hun
are these bob newhart lines? sounds like him..
No. the first is Penny to Bob Newhart's character. The second is the astronaut guy... can't think of his name
but from the bob newhart show, surely.
No.. Big Bang Theory
Oh.. you mean the episode with Bob Newhart. Yes. I'm watching it
aahhh, now you are making sense, sad isn't it? we don't want that, do we?
LOL. Bob Newhart is so funny
He thinks Sheldon is nuts
and your point is??? sheldon is nuts....
Just that he's always so funny when he's thinking someone is crazy. Pretty much made his career on that!LOL
yeah,,lolol
okay, outta here. heartbeat on, then father brown mysterys. happy babbling everyone. m9 nice to see you, hun
night Rose
nite rose!
oops, night pugs, didn't know you were still here. xoxox hun
*poof*
good morning all
good morning
hiya Glant :)
Hi Sprite - sunny in the Netherlands?
not today, very overcast. But up till today it was pretty sunny. And with you?
still sunny
good :) We were due, don't you think? A bit of summer before autumn sets in.
over 2 weeks now, and forecast also for next week - it feels like a proper summer, we didn;t get one last year or the year before!
hehehe, gmta
:-)
my love spent most of yesterday in our garden... so happy to be out of hospital :)
i haven't been babbling at the same time as you for a while, didn't know your love had been in hospital - hope s/he is recovering well
yes he is, doing much better and healing up further all the time. Babble kept me sane last week :)
good to hear he's doing better - and thta you remained sane!
:D Thank you! How are things with you?
they are fine, mostly
that is all we can ask for, really, isn't it?
my doctor is a bit concerned that my recent blood test results don;t make sense to him - apparently i have an inflammation marker which is sky high but i don;t appear to be ill
so he has referred me to oncology, i go on 30th - thye may have some blood test results on file form 8 years ago - the doctor is keeping his fingers crossed that high inflammatory marker is normal for me
ouch, that is tough. Some inflammation but no idea where. He checked gums and bladder right away, I take it?
oncology... ok that is pretty serious. I hope it won't be anything like that, Glant, and that it is either normal for you or due to something simple.
he says the level of marker indicates severe inflammation - he'd expect somebody with a rheumatoid arthritis attack leaving them almost unable to move at the levels my test show - and i walk in with a sile, feeling fine
*smile
i hope it's nothing serious, I feel OK but my skin keeps doing starnge things - painless, but strange - this morning I had long lumpy lines down my arm, a few weeks ago it was strange spots on hands, feet and chest
strange readings, Glant. And strange symptoms. I'll hold you in my thoughts and prayers. May the outcome be minor and easy to resolve.
hope so
am doing ok with the 7s but still no joy with the 8s. Do you know the starting letter?
te8 & ro *
hi Anita, and thanks :)
{{spritey}} AND {{anita}} AND {{glant}} my lucky night. how are you all? how's Rob?
hi rose thought you might have retired to your bed :)
yw sprite
hi dear friend :) I am good, feeling the reaction to last week's stress, so taking things easy. Rob is doing well. Spent most of yesterday in the garden, enjoying being outdoors again. Walking a lot. Much less pain.
not quite yet, anita...glant, reading back through chog...glant....my prayers are with you, hun
he surprised me with a small impromptu wedding celebration to honor the arrival of my wedding ring :D
wow, sprite. must have some words with the man upstairs and thank him for prayers answered. my goodness!!
specialist said to walk a lot, movement is good, no lifting though. When I had a hernia, ages ago, strict bedrest and muscle relaxants were the treatment. Things change.
oh yes! The Big Man worked hard on our behalf.
found the 8s, thanks again :)
yay sprite, nice job
how are you today, rose?
quite happy, thanx. we are gradually getting things done. are you sitting down?
I am. Hit me.
himself has actually started working on the reno's in the loungerooom in preparation to convert it into our new bedroom.
O. M. G. how awesome! Yay for Mr Rose.
LOLOL....yeah....yay for DH!!
:D
i'm not expecting miracles, and i realise i have to stand back and allow him time. but a start is a start.
a start is where all good things come from. Yes it will take time. But yay!
AND he did it voluntarily...lol
that is even better!
I think that is fireflies... exactly at hiccup time :)
WTG SPRITE!!!
:) Thank you! Big *hug* for you and your DH, sleep well, and I hope to see you tomorrow. Glant, I am holding you in my thoughts and prayers. Bye all!

If you have any coverage on your TV's, and the helicopters point toward the East side of the lake, you will see my village, Veyrier du Lac.
Evening Ms Foo!
Im sorry I dont own a tv =(

She is doing well. Needs to sleep better at night. But she will get there.
Thanks for asking.
None of mine slept well at night, at first. I always envied people who had babies who did.
They are heading out to see sil's family today. It is going to be a long day for mom and baby.
More coffee...brb
te8 and... ?
ro8
ty
nice grid
i only need 12 more
4 T 3 P 3 H 1 S 1 R
guess i'll just list and get it done
Sometimes your brain just refuses to see anymore.
esp if you're still sleepy
but, most of what i had missed was also easy, if i had been on my toes i shouldn't really have needed the list at all.
Well then, you lose no Smarty Pants points for that. : D
on the contrary. and i lose all my perseverance points.
: (
it's ok :)
i'm heading to my family's today so i didn't want to spend a lot of time on babble
Have a good time

Weird word. Sounds like someone laying pr9 on the floor with the p chopped off.
it is odd.have not seen it often
looked it up--means having a beak
is not babble amazing? always something interesting:)
I have learned lots of words on babble...not that they can be used in ordinary conversation but still interesting
most of babble cannot be used in ordinary conversation ;)) "i was walking over the cwms one day and a nene attacked me out of nowhere causing me to drop my etui"..just does not work lol
crossy, I understood that completely :)
hehe
of course we do,but say that in public and the men in the white coat will haul us away
only a babbler would
forgot to toss fishing for hairy nosed dolphins into that
when you dropped the etui the inia stole it
lol
I mostly use the babblets in scrabble and wwf lol
yup;)
no one in the house will play scrabble with me anymore however;(
and my non-babble friends think i'm cheating.
re
exactly
spend half the night hauling the scrabble dictionary out
'morning
hiya welki
howdy,welki:)
hi welki :)
how's the jeep, crossy? (what color is it?)
it is black.not our first colour choice but i got a kick ass deal on one that was on the lot
you'll like the black and end up glad it was the one you got - i wanted a different color, too, but ended up with black - very sharp looking
best of luck with it :)
well, thing was a cancelled brand new order for someone else,so i got the thing fully loaded for almost 9k off
only thing it does not have is the tow package
the only thing i wish i'd had on mine was a winch to get me up into the seat - i'm a shortie *lol*
i think the mrs will love the heated seats this winter
name that proper noun...George Washington's mate
hello, martha!
i am 6 foot 2 and have the same i9ssue but due to arthritis and bursitis.takes me a bit of work to get in
ding ding ding!!!
oi may order the snorkel kit for it however
i
for those wild mud-bogging trips into the muskeg?
yuppers, when you bury the tailpipe in water or mud,it is nice to not have it stall out
you won't want to do any serious off roading until you get the first few scratches and dings on it
tadone!! finito!! must be off, hagd everyone!
wtg dawg - enjoy the day
lol.first day with it yesterday,i had it on some rutted goast path on top on the mountain when that storm came through.was great fun:)
goat
with elegant? is she a game trooper for that sort of stuff?
lol,she had no choice, she was riding shotgun. the rain was torrential, tornado warnings issued brances and trees were all over to path we wre driving on,visibility was so bad i had the headlights off and the fog lamps on:)) water and mud was splashing up over top of the hood.was a good christening
branches
and the winch would of been handy.had one blow down i could not go over or around and had to back track
<-- would have been white knuckled, screaming, 'watch that branch! you'll scratch the jeep on the first day!"
you'll be at princess auto for the winch pretty soon :)
lol,yup all on the first day.my beloved was a white knuckled mess
was covered in mud from top to bottm by the time we got back to a paved road, but it was raining so hard,by the time i got back to town, she was showroom clean again;)
well, enjoy it - they're fun. and you've been around the block enough times to watch your center of gravity - don't want to turtle in the middle of nowhere
hello dear friends
hi, tri!
nope:)) the 4 door feels less incline to go "turtle" anyways
howdy ,trif
ohh, i thought you said you were getting the two door
going to see bon jovi tonight with my beloved valnetine - whee
like i said on an earlier post.the 2 doors were getting rarer than hens teeth and i got a deal i could not refuse on this 4 door
hI Trif, have a great time
have a great time, trif - *singing living on a prayer*
hi annie! I am really looking forward to cutting loose. been WAY too busy at work lately, need a fun night out
yaa for trif!! some squee time with bon jovi!
yup
new jeep sounds great crossy! glad you made it back safely
yup.wife was a wreck, but i think it will grow on her
we used to have one - loved it
she loves sitting so high and she love the sat radio and the gps and she will adore the heated seats in winter
sat radio....a dream I have
me? i adore the new kick ass penastar engine and the freedom top
get oen ,trif, the monthly fee is low and it is awsome
last i checked it was about 14 bux a month
cant buy a single solitary thing at present, crossy....but will keep it in mind
cheaper in the states, crossy - and come renewal time, they'll bargain with you if you hedge on the renewal rate
good to know, welki.we have one year free with the jeep
Have fun at the Bon Jovi concert Trif. He puts on a great show.
crossy, did you lease or buy?
the navigation alerts might be helpful if you travel (particularly in the city - for traffic alerts), but here, it's not worth it
is it hard to choose what to listen to crossy? I feel I would be overwhelmed with the choices!
and thanks molly
I leased my Honda and glad I did
we bought, annie, but the bank will own a portion of it for a few years
Enjoy!
the choices are endless,trif!!
i also like the gps navigation.never had that before..but then again us guys never get lost anyways:)
yeah right
Hello everyone
hey, lynxxx
howdy,lynxx
hello lynxxx
hi lynxxxx
hi Trif - nice to see you around
nice to have some down time, lynxxx - been swamped lately
thats good though - ?
it is what has to happen right now. work is a real stresser at the moment. the powers that be desperately underallocated the amount of staff we would need for the summer, and the remaining staff is overwhelmed. it means a bigger check, but a smaller life
ugh - just hope they remember what has happened for next year
Hi All
hi Hego
Special hi to Trif.
I wont be working there next summer. I HAVE To find a better job.
hi hego :)
Hi Annie
hello hego dear!
hiya Trif!
Done
Whooo hoot!!! Annie!!

my friend's family is making a birthday lunch for her and that is where I am headed today. Bobby and I were invited. I know her since 5th grade. Many moons ago.

I am also going to a b'day party.

Hi Owl :)

You are just a sweet young thing.
Owl, hego said it right.
i cancelled my plans for family work and my brother canclled on ME. looks like a weekend home
Owl, I think it going to be a scorcher today...stay home and relax
oh, well, relax then.

and so i will come back for the last 29
later Owl, Im on my way out too. bye dear babblers
see you later.
Bye
welk, pic is up finally
I feel so much better that this is the last day of the heat wave.
Anyone out there or have you all melted away?
good morning everyone, I'll be in and out today
hi Flosey!
hi Saanich
Hi there bichon, will melt away when it gets warmer...

More specific, Jewish sabbath
WOW flosey congrats!
Thanky you, Molly. I knew my clue was too vague.
No worries, I am often vague. Sometimes vapid. : D
I connected it with Passover - Jewish friends once invited us to share with them - explained everything as they went through the meal - must have been 35 - 40 years ago
Molly you do make me laugh with your icons :D
: D
Paying you back for all the laughs I STILL get over your brandy drink, Chrissie. : D
;)
Wouldn't mind if it'd been true
thanks Saan, must go now - kids last day then we'll be going in to Sidney to get some of Janet's Earl Grey tea, then fish/chip supper (at re taking them to

bb at flip
bye flosey. . . sorry i missed you
hi all
Hi, jmc.
love your kitti judi
Thanks, jmc. Alas, my eyes grow weary of this grid. I think I'll pack it in with 40 left. Gotta go finish cleaning my cabinet faces.
hi all
hey welki
Hi, welki! Anyone want clues before I poof?
cold cream?
thanks, judi - but done here, just here to chat for a little while
it is a big grid. . . i spent the morning being productive so even though i still need to work i let myself be captured! haha
babble is your reward - no capture required :)
Ah yes, the inescapable Babble vortex. No one is safe from it.
clearly not me!
i really should learn to turn my computer off instead of hibernate since i would not then automatically open to babbleland. . .
and then you'd just say - wish i'd left it in hibernate so i don't have to wait for it to load :D
haha
no doubt
Babble never sleeps. It's always there. Lurking.
hello...need an O stat please
OR5/6: gave a speach.
so true so true. . .but that was very nice when i was traveling so much. . . i could always find someone i knew to talk to . . .
oo4/5
was thinking yesterday that these computers were supposed to make things easier and save time - seems that, since i started working on computers (huge monster mainframes), they've taken up more time than i used to spend doing things manually
oo5/14
ty...now have nbs/nbt
or5/10
wtg phae!
:)
that said, sure is nice that the world has become more accessible and, like jmc said, you can find someone to talk to just about any time of day
and i have friends all over the world!
(not to mention it makes it easier for me to do tax returns for my expat clients)
stats for the middle column E please
anesthesia
oh shoot - et 5/12
ah. . .i went for the flower instead! ty
et5/12x2
nbt, nbs for me now!
hi phae

ty...hagd all!
Hello all. :-)
Hi, Soodle.
How are you guys surviving the heatwave?
Living in the ac.
Lol! After the wettest March here since records began, now they've declared an official drought! And nobody here has air con!
*!* ta da *!*
spoke with my cousin in Scotland yesterday, Soodle - they've had 2 weeks of weather in the high 20's - no air conditioning there either
anyone want clues before Ieave?
Sorry Nan, was on the phone. No clues yet.... I'll muddle along. Congrats on the FW. :-)
that's ok - I was answering a skype from the kids ;)
good evening all, back for the last 25
bye everyone :)
bye nan
Mostly soaking wet whenever anything involving exercise happens.
Exercise - please don't swear at me
Sorry Glant : )
:-D
fireworks
and goodnight - happy babbling all
Bye Glan & well done. The closest I got to exercising today was pushing a cart round the supermarket. I dawdled for so long in the chilled department, enjoying the coolness, I was afraid that security man would eject me.
good afternoon all!
evening sue
managed to get nbs, nbt, and more than half way in 15 minutes last night - now for the rest of the grid! :-)
hi sandr!
We have a walk in cold section where they keep all the beer. That is my last stop at the grocery store and I linger there, pretending to studiously inspect all the high priced beers. : D
hi Molly! The Costco by us has a walk-in cooler for produce, which is also nice
I haven't been to Costco in ages. It's so hard to shop there for just two people.
we manage :-)
we're not used to this heat really its starting to hit 30 average now
it has cooled off a bit today, still in the mid-80s but the humidity is lower - amazing how much difference that makes!
thats the problem with the uk at the moment, its been wet for 7 years then when the heat comes so does the humidity
sounds beastly, sandr
sleep is the worst part you cant get comfortable at night, at least its been overcast all day today which might help. they've given warnings on the news for people to be very careful as we're not used to it, its more hotter than LA supposidly.
Still been a deep blue sky here, Sandr :-)
heat can be deadly; it is important to stay hydrated. If you don't have air conditioning, you can use fans - they are better than nothing and can really help especially if it cools off at night
wheres that zoom?
Isle Of Wight.
yorkshire for me
we also have been feeling the heat in the us.
I said a little prayer of thanksgiving in front of my fan last night. I am using more of them to keep the AC at a reasonable level. A cool breeze on the back of a sweaty neck is lovely.
I feel for you
a bucket of water over the head is fantastic, at least we dont have the dreaded hose pipe ban yet, my roses are loving this weather
I know i am mad..but i am loving the heat...It is the cold i cannot stand.
I'd rather stick to the AC.
Ha i am sure the ho4 pipe ban will soon be in place, Sandr.
well lets face it...we moan when its cold, we moan when its hot.
I'm not sure I like either, Zoom. But I find cold depressing.
We are, Brits..we love to moan :-)
Oh trust me, you Brits have not cornered the market on moaning. Plenty of that here in the US. : D
100 left, getting stuck now
I can picture you in a British accent, zoom...
At least when i get hot i can peel of layers of clothing..putting on soo many in cold weather makes me feel like i am being stifled.
hahaha i'll take your word for that, Molly :-)
Makes me like I'm trapped, or in jail
Off not of..sorry.
Everyone makes kistakes, your humn.
See?
33 left here, Sandr..going to sit in garden for a while..refresh the eyes...might find some more words later.
yeah think ill go to the pub for an hour
Good bye
in a bit everyone
Lol!!! Picturing Molly in the beer aisle, supposedly considering which six-pack she should purchase. Then, when nobody is looking, she lurries in about 20 x 20 packs!! :-)
It's funnier than that. While I am perusing the froo-froo ales, I have a 12-pack of cheap stuff in my cart.
I do, however buy the good stuff on occasion, when my kids deign to visit.
Anyone heard of GreyWoulf? I'm his daughter.
Cheap stuff is good stuff. My yardstick when buying wine or beer is A) Does it come in liquid form and B) is there alcohol in it. Once those boxes are ticked, I'm happy.
Soodle, I know what it means, what is the pronunciation for dar bhri na gréine is na gealai?
Dhar vree na grain-ya isss na gwallee! Or there abouts. My Irish teacher is probably spinning in her grave.
Thank you. Finding out how to pronounce Gaelic is hard to do on the internet.
Any time Molls! We got to get your pronounciation up to scratch before you get here!
I am so thick-tongued when it comes to Gaelic. That and my basic dislike of tea makes me think my Irish blood has been infected somehow.
Nope. You like beer. Your pedigree is intact.
Hello all...or at least Molly and soodle! ((hugs))
The surprise party for my brother's 50th was a roaring success. He was genuinely surprised, & the festivities finished uo (well, actually I left them to it,)at 5.30 this am. Hi Jilly :-)
...up....
How did hoity toity sister in law react to the parents coming along?
Not much she could say, Molls. The Olds were in situ when she, along with the birthday boy, made her Grand Entrance. At that stage, there was nothing she COULD say. And the aged parents really enjoyed the night.
Good for you for bringing them. They were the cause for the celebration, they should have been there to enjoy it.
It worked out well, with a complete lack of ill- will all round. A date to be marked as historic in the O Carroll family history annals!
hi all :)
Hi Foffle. :-)
I will take that as a sign of changing fortune and have even more faith that lottery winnings are imminent.
Hows the weather where you are Jilly?
Hi Soodle - love your profile script
OMG soodle....I am rofl over your profile....
HI foffle!
Molly, my youngest is absolutely mad into The Secret. Power of positive thinking etc.. She has given me a stone, which I must rub, and concentrate on positivity! Heck! I'll give it a go...,.
hi Jilly
:-). So glad ye like it!!!!
phantom - hazard
brb...gonna grab a snack...
Bring back a snack for us Jilly..... :-)
The Secret was a kind of pop culture take on the power of positive thinking. That philosophy has been around for ages. The basic tenet being, thoughts become things.
If your mind is full of negative thought and worry, that is what you attract. If your mind is full of positive thought and confidence in the best, that is what you attract.
*places fresh pea pods and homemade trail mix in PB*
I'm a little bit tired & emotional (for emotional - read hungover) after the party last nite. I think I may treat myself to an early night, chanting Thoughts Become Things. Molly, you & my Suzie would get on like a house on fire!
We would, we are old souls.
afternoon all
hi jes
Hi there jes! How's the animal kingdom today?
Hi Jes
frustrtating - 8:30, 9, 9:30 appointments all no call/no showed, then my 10:00 showed up at 10:25, right about the same time my 10:30 showed up.
Lol. I look at Suzie. 18. Beautiful. Brainy. First 'proper' boyfriend. Literally, the world is her oyster. How I hope things stay good for her. Sheesh, I'm getting maudlin now. Hiya Jess :-)
*Cues up "Where Are You Going My Little One" for maudlin Soodle*
frustrating when people come inton the library 5 mins before we close and want to look for movies..i want to toss them out the window, the people not the movies
Sorry Jes...people can be such idiots...
*adds 'Sunrise, Sunset" to soodles playlist*
and the 10 that showed up late is a client i don't like anyway - he bitches EVERY TIME about how much flea treatment costs, like it's my fault that he has 2 DOZEN freaking cats? yeah, it's gonna add up when you're treated that many animals. But the skin issues will NOT GO AWAY until you treat the fleas. And he keeps getting more animals!
Humming along with those songs, while sympathising with Jess & Ivesy.
I would help you Ivesy. People who come in five minutes before closing time anywhere are rude and self absorbed.
Many of the big box stores shut their doors a bit early to prevent that...
*Hands Soodle the Emotional Empath crown*
they are molly.. i want to find out where they work and go there at 5 mins bfor.. and the temps in there have been high 80s no ac in main library
oh god forbid they dont have three movies for the w/e
I will go with you Ivesy. And we will take our time. Mwahahahaha!
people are just rude when they wait til the last minute for anything. as if the world revolves only for them...grrrr. *shoves soap box back into PB* Hi everyone!
Adjusting crown, and waving empath wand over all disgruntled Babblers.....
have to go for a while bbl
oh yes i like that idea molly!! lollol
happy babbling
<---thinks we are getting close to the rubber room
Bye foffle!
course in this area , half of them dont work
bye, foffle
hi bye foffle
*Moves the soap box over, moves the healthy snack over and adds cream cheese brownies to the PB*
Hi dawg!
*nearly trips over soap box to grab some brownies!* snarf
And beer. Don't forget the beer....
Hi Jilly! warm down your way?
The bar in the PB has been open all day. Get with the program.
'Snarf'! What a wonderful word!
Yep...yesterday I survived by going to my friends pool...today just sweating
*Serving lemon water for tea totalers*
lol, Molly. does the bar ever close in the PB?
if u like pina coladas.... getting caught in the rain.. bellies up to the bar...
a large g & t sounds good. too bad I don't have anything but the ice and large glass. :(
Probably not LBD. The few times I have been up in the wee hours and looked at Babble chat, it seems as though the bar is raging on.
*Takes pity on LBD and fills her frosty glass with gin, tonic and fresh lime juice*
ahh, thank you, Molly. just need a light breeze to make it a perfect day here. otherwise it's kinda stifling. sitting in the dark, just with only the light from my computer screen.
Any smoke up your way?
no, fortunately the fires are far enough away from us.
And me too Dawg, everything shut down tight and curtains pulled...wishing I had AC
well that's a good way to start a grid - first shake down got 122 words and NBT :)
the only misfortune happening up here are people falling off the trails in glacier and killing themselves.
We supposedly have some from Calif fires, but I don't really notice it
fires are no fun... stay safe
wtg, Jes!
And getting hit by lightening!
oh yes, the hikers...but that was on the east side.
YAY for jes!!
making beef kabobs for dinner, need some ideas for side dish...maybe just a tossed salad, since the kabobs have veggies on them.
Usually I do salad....
I think that's what i'll do, I don't want to h4t up the house
chop up potatoes and cook them on the barbeque with the kabobs
or roast whole ears of corn.
Summer cooking here onlly involves microwave or BBQ
should have bought corn this morning...darn
kabobs will be on the grill. hmmm, taters on the grill... a possibility.
I have a grill stir fry utensil....or put them in aluminum foil...
or take your potatoes, cut them in half length wise, coat the skin with olive oil and roll them in salt and pepper, then cook them on the grill
those suggestions are making me hungry. must go rummage for a nosh and maybe a nap! lol bbl
bye, dawg :)
STay cool dawg!
oh, watermelon and fresh raw peas are also good summer side dishes
Wonderful coworker brought me in a huge bag of fresh pea pods after she heard my crop had failed to come up...
Did you ever figure out why your crop failed?
Probably soil molly...
brb
My nephew James, aka Jamsie, attained the age of 7 today. I went to the toy store this afternoon. Huge signs all over the shop.. 'PLEASE DO NOT ASK. WE HAVE NO PADDLING POOLS LEFT''.
did you go ask what their pool selection is, to see if you can get an appearance on http://notalwaysright.com/ ?
Like someone said earlier, Soodle. You all are down to buckets of cool water over your heads.
I have a friend whose son is a Jamie. Full name: Jameson. I'm so proud.
Clearly a child with enormous potential, Molly. Lol Jess!! So true. My nephew is a cross between Denis the Menace and a boy soprano. He is an absolute joy to spend time with!
I have some things sauteing on the stove for dinner. I wouldn't cook outside in 95 degree heat if my life depended on it.
Things sauteing........ I'm smelling onions, steak, all sorts of lovely things.....
steak!! where??!
Hello crossy!
Moll's place.....
howdy,jilly
on the barby, crossy :)
mmmmm, just wipe the bum,and cut the horns off and sear it with a flame and slide it on my plate please
With a lovely wilted lettuce salad loaded with bacon...
mmmm!!
i saw a picture of a bacon candle on fb... !
yup.crossy has one
Yep, steak and onions and fried potatoes. Steaming some fresh green beans to go with.
really? do they smell like bacon crossy
Good heavens above! How's a person supposed to go to bed with those kinds of images dancing in front of her eyes?
I put bacon and onions in my green beans...
i can wake everyone up with the smell of bacon frying without actually having to cook any, then when they are up i get them to do chores:)
hi all back again :)
Hi again foffle!
howdy,foffle
Hi Foffle
That is a trickster breakfast. I would be shunned forever by my clan if I did that.
hi crossy and jilly
hi soodle
well, then they will do the chores,or i do not cook the real thing:))
Oh, I'm off to bed! No doubt to dream about steak, onions & bacon. Gastric juices will be in overdrive. Thank you all. Not!
<-----really slowing down on finding words...
Niters soodle...sweet sleeps
Having to do chores before being fed breakfast would be a deal breaker here too.
i can usually get people to jump through flaming hoops for a full crossy breakfast with all the trimmings:))
off to bed early soodle?
((soodles))
MY PROBLEM IS THAT ONCE I STUFF THEM FULL,NOBODY WANTS TO MOVE
sorry caps
I have got to get my eyes checked....glasses on, glasses off...computer glasses....sheesh!
Wooter Magoo
I'm still on pound shop glasses - they seems to do the trick
<------loved mr magoo!!
seem
I'm near sighted....they don't work for me
I'm just glad I don't have to fork out for expensive ones
foffle,i was on dollar store glasses for 2 years and i also thought they did the trick.what i did not know untill my first full eye exam was not only did i have glaucoma, but one eye was perfect and one eye needed a corrective lens,so what i was really doing was damaging the good eye while trying to fix the bad eye with dollar store glasses
so my perscriptions sat had plain glass in the left eye and a corrective lens in the right
oh gawd that's a cheery thought crossy NOT
just a cautionary tale is all.something to think on
my ex partner has glaucoma
he's blind now poor soul
:((
he used to joke about painting me white and using me as a stick lol
bit on the thin side are we?
not at all these days!
never have been but the poor guy had bad vision
Wow....gotta love living in a small town! Our neighbor and friend whom works at the Post Office just stopped by to give us something....a Christmas card from 2011 was found in the office. Seems my cousin had used our old address from before they renumbered our street.
well,a good woman should have curves.crossy hates those anorexic types, all sharp edges and angles.laying down with one of those is like falling on a bicycle
rofl crossy. no, plenty of padding now, more bouncy castle that bicycle
hehe
I'm losing the will with this grid
still 130 left
i am just slowly meandering my way through this one
I wish there were more vowels around the z
keep seeing hazard but phantom
Most of the z words are phantoming their way today...
I need 28 more...will list soon if i do not find another word in the next 5 mins.
I had to list at about that zoozzoom...almost done here
Just hoping i did not miss any easy words..i usually do..lol
<-----------------------!!FW!! tedious little grid.....
Congrats Jilly!
yaa for jilly!!
wtg jilly
aww....Helen Thomas died...
who is that?
i had to google her as well.had no idea
She was a journalist, Foffle.
oh
says here a member of the white house press corp
well I wouldn't know that. how do you know that zooz?
ahh, looks like she was into a bunch of stuff
lol,she even did a interview for playboy
I have seen her name a few times over the years of watching news channels..as boring as i am..lol...i even watch the bbc parliment channel from time to time.
She was a pioneer for women in politics, and a very feisty broad. Wishing her happy trails in The Summerlands.
does anybody actually READ playboy?
lol,never been that bored
seems so,foffle
No Foffle, that is just a myth.
I did have a peek when i was about 14 i think..lol
but did you READ it zooz?
Very controversal Molly. Upset a lot of people with her anti-Israel and anti-Jewish statements
Of course...........................NOT.
lol
ahh,she was a tad racist was she?
have to go bye bye all
tc,foffle
happy babbling
Bye, Foffle.
I don't know about her other views, but definitely unsettle a whole lot of Jews
:(
Sorry Bich. Did not mean to indicate that I agreed with everything she said. Just that she was one of the first women making her way in the political arena...which was largely male at that time.
I understand Molly, but I wanted that brought out.
well, never knew the woman, but she has passed on and rest in peace
She said the nasty things a few years ago and I won't if it was a result of dementia
*wonder
well,my da is just past 70,and not all his cheese is firmly aligned on his cracker anymore,so anything is possible
I think that might have been the end of her in the WH Press room
th6/24?
th + to glean a harvest
ty!
yw kje
Actually bichon, she is Jewish herself and if you read her comments, they were directed at the occupation of Palestine only, not a slam against the Jewish race
20 left... listing so I can take a nap ; )
*poof*
Actually, she said the Jew should go home to Poland and Germany. Really?
fw
thanks for the help, bichon

my son's girlfriend's dog just ate a balloon (maybe) and they are very concerned - I think it is probably fine
hi bichon!
Morning all
hi lyn.
hi lynxxx!
I am sure it will be Sue - we had a small dog who used to eat them often - always passed through OK
they are coming to the same conclusion
my favorite story is that the same dog also ate a threaded needle
oh dear...
hopefully it isn't a weiner dog
I was amazed when I pulled gently on this bit of thread hanging out of his **** and the needle followed
he 5/14?
wow, he was lucky, lynxxx!

Needle case alert!!!
Sue, it could be interesting if that dog gets gassy. : D
haha

LOL
if he squeaks .. take him to the vet :D

Ah, nothing like a big ole severe thunder storm to bring the temperature down 15 degrees.

Hi i'm back how is every one doing
hi all, got nbt and a-woot
hi gwen :)
hi kate 8-)
congrats
uh, oh, i'm yawning and sneexing at the same time, lol
sneezing
lol, careful or you'll suck it all back in....
ew! lol
sorry, tired and hungry - blaming low glucose levels. eating now...typing one-fingered
how did your saturday go?
not too bad, saturdays i usually hit garage sales hunting for books (i'm an independent used-book dealer) and i bought a few nice ones today, so, yeah, pooped
my plan was to cook some dinner when i got home, but power was out, so i went to a restaurant by myself and hung out, hoping power would be back on when i got home, and hooray, it was
howsabout you?
sounds like a great day...you were aslking about book stores last week for your mini-roadtrip....
What books did you get
yep, bought too many books on that trip, but i'll manage
hell, don't even remember what i bought today, they're still in the car, i was too pooped to unload 'em
Lol i've felt that way before
i can tell you what i cataloged today, which are books i bought last week . . .
ah! much better to let someone else cook for you, after slaving over hot books all day... find anything special in the restaurant or the garage sales?
Sure what books did you get last week
okay, books today: an opinion piece against secession, 1862. autobiography of a not-so-famous unitarian. biography of a nantucket whaling captain.
as for the restaurant, i got some yummy tilapia and read a magazine
(i specialize in history books, as you might have guessed)
How have you been kate and i have never even heard of those books
(actually, those weren't the titles, they were descriptives)
(hmm, now that you mention it, i could write a book and call it autobiography of a not-so-famous unitarian, LOL)
Oh i still probably havent heard of them i'm not very big on history
that would be a funny title of a book
no, i try to find books that people haven't heard of; i like the weird, the unusual, and so on
Titles
that's why bdg laughs at my jokes
:D
Oh then you would like me * smiles michivisly*
the opinion piece against sessession sounds like it could be interesting.. who wrote it?
and i like hanging out with the weird and the unusual, too LOL
<-----weird, and strange.....or so i'mtold ;)
kate, it was written by Parson Brownlow (William Gannaway Brownlow), a colorful character
I'm very weird and unusual is what peeps tell me
Brb
<--perfectly normal and pleasant
gonna make a pilgramage your way one of these days gwen. gotta see them thar books... is there a reason brownlow sounds familliar?
(generous discount to babble players, hint hint hint)
hi ruru :) love your pleasantries... aka puns ;)
well, in looking him up, and his book, seems there were many editions, and he was a newspaper editor who was rather infamous at the time
and he was also governor of Tennessee at one point
you're not that far from me gwen, i was thinking of you yesterday when the news was talking about the bankruptcy of detroit...
and you needn't make a pilgrimage to me, i don't have an open shop. but all my inventory can be browsed online, like the shelves of a bookstore, because it is all organized like that on my site
so, a man of "some importance"... more intruiging all the time!
aw, gee, thanks, but i had nothing to do with that! LOL
http://www.gwenfoss.com/categories.asp
:(( adore brick and mortar stores.... especially with books! when you pick them up, they speak to you before you even crack the cover.... love to feel the pages betweeen my fingers...
click on a category to get to the subcategories . . .
yes, true, there is no thumbing through the book when you're webshopping, sorry
i will look gwen, one of the many things i have been putting off due to limited computer time, lap top with me on loan again tonight...but fv2 needs attention. it crashed on me earlier, took 1 1/2 hours to get the lappie up and running again :( ... i was only trying to visit a farm to help!
oy! i am too scared to play fv2 since "fv1" is such a time sucker
Hi folks
Gwen is there a particular part of history you favor?
if you can't find anything you want among my books, check out tomfolio.com, which is a little cooperative of little independent used-bookdealers like me
joso, not really. well, i like liberal religious history, and i like those books that are the history of just one little town . . .
gwen, i went to your sight and see you have a section on folk songs, and that you have some 'sing out' literature. i have a small stack of sing out magazines. they were given to me by my high school librarian (because she was going to throw them out) - would you like them?
hi welki
and i went to your site, too :)
i thought if i keep it to a minimum... only adding neighbours as required to expand (learned that from fv 1)... but it is strange, even at the internert cafe, fv is laboriously slow....and fv2 is not much better (even though i have almost nothing on my farm... level (7?) yet it crashed when i wnt to visit one of my 8 neighbours...that's it - 8!
i have a ton of sing outs -- can you tell me what years (or what decade) yours are from?
sure - hang on
i don't wish to breach the anti-farmville protocal in here, but, yes, farmville crashes a lot, you just have to accept it. i've tried everything, and a friend of mine who's a technogeek did too, and we oculd find to solution
(could find no solution)
hi joso and welki :)
i have something like 225 neighbors, but only about 15 who are actually still playing
not so much an era, ever since playing civilization I've been fascinated by the progress of mankinds tech and institutions, also love the odd quirks of WWII.
ha - a very small stack! i guess the ones that were borrowed were never returned. I could only find five (one is in very poor condition) - they're all from prime time - 1966
yes, i do pick up books on the history of technlogy when i find them
(they are stamped 'library" + my high school name on the front, if that matters)
welki, heck, yes, i would be delighted to get them. how much are you asking? or are you trying to get rid of them for nothing?
beats me, gwen - let me see how much postage is to send them to you (canada post is ridiculous)
even in fv2, on the newer, more high speed internet, it can take 5-8 minutes to go to a neighbour's farm and have it fully load...times 5 neighbours (max. visits?) and then re-load home farm... takes way too long! with my lap top of yore, i figured it was my antiquated lappie, but it's not.. so the question is why do people play?
omg - tom paxton is just a baby!
the psychological answer is very simple (and the makers of these games know it): once a person has invested their time into making a farm, they don't want to "lose" their investment by giving up the game
i started playing fv for one very good reason, my boyfriend would not shut up about it until i agreed to play on the condition that if i started playing, he had to shut up about it
ohhh - i'll have to read them again first - phil ochs, tom rush, ian and sylvia, richie havens - holy moly! (and a subscription was $5.00/year!)
so true gwen... we like to keep our possessions, don't we? ... even the irtual ones. i will make a point of visiting fv tomorrow and helping at your farm. i just want to know where the dinos are....
welki, okay, send me an email when you're ready to sell 'em -- my email is on my website gwenfoss.com
will do
kate, i don't have dinos on all my farms, and i believe you can only visit the farm that i last played -- i'm assunming you're aware that there are 13 farms inside the game . . .
lol, gwen - and is he still your boyfriend?
yes, he shut up about it, and he's still my boyfriend, and here's the kicker: he got disgusted and stopped playing 2 years ago (give or take) and i'm still playing
i knew there was england and fv 2, and an outer space one....celestial(?) that is all i know, i've been away for a very long time.
are we neighbors already? i don't know your facebook name . . .
how did i know that was coming gwen??? he may have been playing longer, but we play with babblers,; harder to let down someone you "know" than someone you got off an "add me" list in cyber space
i was gwen, i have been winnonwed form many people's friends list because i was away for so long...kate skinner, fort erie... just look for the bright red sweater- i never changed it
well, he was a very aggressive player, ued to try to get every possible point from everything, used to put his chickens into the chicken coop and take them out again every day (don't remembeer the strategy behind that) . . . so he got pretty frustrated by all the crashing and so forth
we had that co-op group together....
oh, heck, yeah, i remember visiting your farm until it wouldn't even load anymore. way too stuffed, was my theory LOL
soo000.... now he plays angry birds? lol...
that's what people thought, but in fv2 i have nothiing and it still won't go...
my strategy is much less hyperactive: have fun with it, and if you don't get every possible point, who CARES
one rainy day, i will go and sell most of my stuff that can't be stored, and see what happens....my farm does load but it can take a while.....*cough*
yep, he plays angry birds, and lots of other games. i'm not really a gamer: boggle and fv is it
yeah, for god's sake, sell the seagulls! lol
crossy has been talking about a new word game that he thinks is a keeper...
i leave "blank space" on my farms and while they hang up and crash, they don't take so long to load on those days when they don't crash . . .
maybe i'll build an ark out of hay bales... 2 of each type of animal only... and store them in my castle... but i'm not taking out the hay bales that spell out "zynga sux" though....
earlier today i actually got to three farms before it hung up (oooh and aaahs from the crowd, LOL)
oooh!!!! ahhhhh! a whole three???? wowza!!!!
yes, i LOVE your zynga sux!
it's a free game (unless you volunteer your own money) so i don't complain all that much about how unstable it is
i was sooo pissed off at them - still am, and never took it out, i'll get rid of it when they get rid of their bugs....
i have noticed that frontierville has morphed into pioneer trail... but my homestead has been transported there... i may investigate that again. i liked that one more than fv, because it had a few bugs, but never crashed on me....
hells bells, i forgot to babble
me too, i must get my head back in the grid, still 34 to go here...
zynga is just trying to suck money out of us. only we can prevent that LOL
okay, babbling now . . .
i never give games real money - hell, i don't even spen the farm cash.....just hoard it ;)
does the he 7/32 build off the he 4/5 before it?
there's an he7? (joke!)
lol, carry on gwen...

been browsing your booksite Gwen. most categories have 5 or 6 books, some 1 or 2, then there is the erotica section. Don't now why so many people try to repress sex, obviously humanity has a strong too strong an interest for it to be quelled.
fer sher
Then fire again
Hello to my fellow babblers! How is everybody doing today?
i'm not a specialist in erotica, but i happened to acquire a huge lot of books from an estate and there was a lot of erotica in there
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! Way to go!

Hi there, rocky.
he7 doe not build off anything, as far as i know
i second that! excellent clue!
Well this is a first
now cluing the he7:
ty gwen, keep trying my monkey on it, but nothing.. may have to go to morewords....
saved by a clue!!!!!!! yeah gwen, my he 4/5 of the day :)
he7: h + greek letter (3 letters) + the victorian *** (another word for a long time, not age)
not sure that's such a great clue, i'll keep working on it lol
scoooop! ty!
sometimes there is no "clever clue"...
he7 (according to dict): "a highly cultured courtesan or concubine, especially in ancient Greece"
so the back of the clue should be "greek age"?
bbl
