Thanks lickety.
Thx Lickety; Hi Neil
Thanks, Rose. I'm stylin' huh?
Hi jillibus. Yeah... I'm here now and then but not usually at this time anymore.
I won't be on long -- very sleepy -- didn
t get much zzz last night because of extremely sore shoulder (tendinitis). Got anti-inflammatory meds today and hope to be able to sleep. Typing is hard because I can't move the right arm yet but at least it doesn't hurt all the time now.
not always itting the right keys as you can see. Mousing left-handed.
Ouch, jilli. Hope that heals soon.
jilli...use the cream, dear, use the cream
NBT/NBS

It's a bear. :P

And you think this is a hat? :P

Going to fall into bed -- wish me luck for a pain-free sleep
Lots of luck jilli. Feel better soon and hope you sleep well.

hail and goodnight jilli. Wishing you a comfortable uninterrupted sleep.
Hey, Neil
Hey, melon.
goodnight all...*poof (I hope)
Did you notice my icon, Neil?
hello everyone :)
hi, nan. hi, ruru.
Oh very good, melon... I recorded a strange little piano composition once, while "under the influence". Here's the evidence: http://tinyurl.com/NN-Piano-\n03
All totally ad-libbed of course. And sounds like it I'm sure, haha. :P
tried the link got a not found, Neil.
Huh? Works fine for me... that's strange.
Oh, I know why!
The chog put that \ in the URL.
Remove that, then try.
Anyway, that is a pic of my dream come true. As I call it, the impiulse purchase that was decades in the making.
trying new words...like pugel.. a cross between a dog and a horn instrument
okay GR, pics posted.
I tried that one, ru! And actually admit it.
Oh wow melon... nice.
still no luck >:/
I'd love to have a Steinway.
chog sounds like recklessly consumed chocolate milk "he totally chogged it."
Huh melon? I'll email the link.
They are all they are cracked up to be. Mine is a 1975 Model L, about 6 feet.
OK, thanks!
Ok melon... check email.
But I warn you... it's pretty bad.
No worse than the silent film accompaniments on TCM. It's a bit Glassy—as in Philip.
Oh? I think it's worse. Way worse. :P
i don't see the wa 9.. what's it related to?
tailoring, ruru. Or anatomy.
It's something a woman watches when she's on a diet, ru.
nbt, nbs
the skinny part of the hour glass ; )
nevermind
nearby
the middle of the torso and most of us dont have one
And anyone for that matter.
Haha, ursh.
thanks everyone .. I'm an dummy
or just a larger one than we'd like, ursh
LOL ursh. Most of us used to, at least (;
OK, around 3 1/2 minutes it sounds like an oncoming train...can I stop listening now?
I'm surprised you've listened that far. :P
Like I said... it's BAD.
Oh, here comes the part where our heroine wonders what has happened to her beau, who is out capturing the bad guys who threatened their frontier town. She's pacing in cirlces...
Haha.
I'm a good sport Neil. Ah, they're on horseback, come to a spring. I can hear the water bubbling.
Horse? No... elephant. :P
Have you ever watched the silent flicks on TCM around 2 am on Saturday nights?
I've seen them, yeah.
Yep, here are the elephants. They are about to stampede. And have come to an abrupt halt. No, the video is stalled.
And I say elephant, because:
http://tinyurl.com/7u479fp
OK, I gotta clear my cache, which usually means retarting firefox. brb
Whoa, that's you on an elephant and it doesn't look photochopped!
Well yeah, I rode an elephant in Chiang Mai. I'll send you the full size copy.
Unfortunately Picasa resizes large photos and makes them much smaller... very annoying.
cool.
That had to be a thrill.
I prefer flickr
Actually here... it's better on photobucket: http://tinyurl.com/oggfxb\nm
Take the \ out of the URL first.
Between the b and nm.
http://tinyurl.com/oggfxbm
There! Use that last one I just pasted.
Then click on the image, to see it full size.
brain just crashed - see you tomorrow :)
nite, nan!
Neil, you are barefoot!
Yep. It was HOT.
I'm bugging out, too. First day of school tomorrow. Since substitute teachers aren't much needed first day, I'm a lunch lady this week!
it was fun, Neil. Later. [poof]
http://tinyurl.com/ptr3ex6
That's another photo from that day. Take care melon, if you see this.
and back again
Welcome back Rose!
thanx mate. you really need to be here more often. this early anyways. ruru has the harem all to himself.
Ha. Well I don't need a harem. ;)
yes i know, you have more than you can handle right there, yeah?
Well she's the only one I need. :)
nice, Neil. *sigh* there a capital letter for you....don't say i didn't do the least i could do for you. *giggle*
FWs

Haha, Rose.
hmmm, just thought...neil? are you okay? you are usually up this late/early when you are having an asthma attack.
I'm fine Rose. It's 11:14 pm here. Will be going to bed very soon.
okay, well that's calmed me down. got a tad anxious here, just then
Huh?
well, if you were unwell....nm
Well you'd know it if I was.
Which isn't that often... so no worrying. ;)

Hi puglet

I got it done Sprite! thanks
Hi there, puglet, sprite and Liz.
pug you goooooo girrrrrl! Good job! And omg what a delightful picture.
Hi Peach
hiya peach *hug*
Hi Mrs Peach
I like this time of night.....my favorite peeps are here.
all thanks to you Sprite
thats so nice Peach--hugs
*gives peach a big hug*
pug, my pleasure, but you are the one who actually did it.
That's a lovely thing to say, peach :)
I give each of you a hug right back.
Rose, thanks to dear Sprite I got a picture of Gradyn on my profile. His first trip squirrel hunting
Lovely looking boy :)
we are missing Joso
those freckles... I could kiss him!
thanks Liz--hes my great nephew
joso and rose, and zooz
Iam so glad to see him so happy now
He looks happy in the pic
yeah I forgot poor Zoom--hope he got his cat problem fixed
he is a lucky boy, pug, with a great dad and you on his team
thanks Sprite and everyone else
Time to love you and leave you - really just back from gym and need to shower. BBL.
enjoy the well-earned shower, Liz :)
bye Liz enjoy!
I dont know what happen to our Rose---not too good of news yesterday for her Sprite
oh dear :(
I will let her tell you cause I dont know how to spell all the medical words
so how are you Sprite?
that's fine, I think she will be back with us soon
very sleepy and tired, had to start on double dose of meds yesterday. But otherwise I am fine. And you?
Iam here--lol--okay really
meds for your sugar?
yeah, the sugar ones
glad to hear you are ok :) Must be a good feeling to see gradyn like this. And knowing you are partly responsible for his perking up and feeling safer.
I dont know about you but when my sister's sugar is high it makes her tired and sluggish
same goes for me, probably. I don't know yet. Sugar hasn't been down since diagnosed, we are still working on getting the dose right.
yes it does Sprite
I seen something sad on tv last night and I cant get the images out of my head. Its making me kind of down and sad---Dedroit MI went bankrupt and lots of people have left the city leaving behind their dogs.So they got thousands of homeless dogs wondering the streets. Some are still staying about their homes or in the homes waitiing for their owners. Its such a sad thing. Them wondering where their owners are. I would never just pack up and leave my animals like that.
me neither. Animals are people too. And more vulnerable than most humans and therefore more entitled to our care... not less. *hugs pug*
thanks Sprite--makes me cry now--those faces they showed
Maybe Unea could have suggestions for the homeless little ones. I won't say Animal Control, but there are probable people who would "foster" them until they find a home.
one of the reasons I really don't watch the ne4. I can't handle it. I will hold you while you cry, hun. Sorry it made you so sad.
I know I would, peach. Must be lots of people willing.
Peach I guess the problem is so huge with so many left they cant handle it all. People are taking bags of food and dumping it here and there. You would never think a city as big as that would go bankrupt
I do hope it was on TV, that is always a place to start.....and newspapers also.
Yes it was on last night on the world news
Good. Usually, air time helps. I would think a city that big would have volunteers and shelters where they are well kept.
Hey, how about contacting the ASPCA?
back in a minute, time for meds
I dont know Peach. The news said they had only four people working on it due to no funds in the city. It must have had be going on for some time because now some of the dogs has formed packs.
I hope now that it has been aired that help will come
Oh, dear! One of my neighbors rescues cats. She has a friend near Atlanta who rescues dogs and I believe horses. I will talk to my neighbor and see if she has any ideas.
back
thats so nice of you Peach
good Sprite
oh wow peach, awesome
I love Charles Standly the tv preacher from Alanta
Have you ever gotten to see him Peach
need more coffee brb
The volunteers need to keep in the forefront of news. Some people who would help but got sidetracked. They may make fliers and have them taken, perhaps, to all the shops and restaurants. Teenagers, who have the stamina, would be helpful if asked.
good ideas, all
Oh, pug, I don't know Rev. Standly.
hi peach, pug, sprite, and likely lurking gran. nice of you to say you were missing me, makes me feel all toasty and gooey inside, ewuuuuw. Pug sorry, can't find any antivirus that will run on your box so best to keep what you have.
hiya joso :) Glad to see you.
would Microsoft Essentials run?
;)
Hi Joso!
Hey there, joso.
hey pug, did you note earlier message?
thanks Peach for reaching out----dont know what you are speaking of Joso
Pug sorry, can't find any antivirus that will run on your box so best to keep what you have.
Sprite right now I got windows security that the computer place put on
okay Joso
found a few that run on win98 but require hardware that is better than what I guess you have.
I got a darn cricket inside the house and its singing is getting on my nerves-lol
what city is it that is nearly bankrupt pug
as long as I can babble this will do until I can find me a better computer.
It did bankrupt Joso--detroit MI
I always think of crickets as playing itsy bitsy fiddles ever since a cartoon I saw as a kid, and the rubbing hind legs thing is kind of like fiddleing
well this does not sound like a fiddle--lol
oh yea, have heard of that one, thought there might be another, are you near detroit?
the chinese believe it brings luck and prosperity if a cricket wants to live in your house, pug
no---its several states away
thats fine Sprite but I wish it was just a tad quieter
lol
trying to catch up on the dog conversation, where are the uncontrolled dogs
al4 in Detroit
on the streets of Detroit
and you want to help but from a few states away
any clue for the ei?
brb
I would if I could but I dont know what I could do==its just a sad sit.
ei + austrian spelling of vino
I don't speak austrian
g'day from me to all the peeps
ouwachita is that a Indian word
hiya rose *hugs* So sorry about your bad ne4. Emailed you back.
ei + blond nation ***den + not out **
Hi Rose--was worried you not being here
ou, ei + anagram of 5 letter word for pig
yes...I got it off a canoe I own
what does it mean
thanx sprite
hi gran
no idea...but I always tell people..."Man with large p***s...
hey joso
Hugs Rose ---Is this going to delay you going back to work now
Hi again.
it is a lake in Arkansas, if I am not mistaken
welcome back Liz
hi liz
lol Ouwachita :D
am going to try to work in between, pugs. ankle fine. drove the car today, no probs.
please take care, rose? Not sure if work is such a great idea?
Hey Rose - hugs from me too. Sounds like you need them :)
strange that...all of a sudden they have found heaps for me to do, all sitting down.
you know that being up on your feet is not good on your ligs. Yes Rose please take care
i'm okay, now, really i am. resigned to it.
how interesting. Please note in the diary that very observation!
lolol, tongue in cheek, of course
cheeky tongue!
joso and rose, thanks for the cold vino
we have accreditation happening at the end of the year. there is so much to do, paperwork-wise.
np's sprite
Rose I dont know if you caught it before you left while ago but Sprite helped me get Gradyn's picture on my profile
as long as you remember to take very good care of yourself, rose...
yes, pugs dear. i saw it. what a cute little fellow he is. no wonder you are besotted with him. looks like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth.
lol I get much of the credit, but all I did was giving the guide. Puglet is becoming computer-savvy so quickly!
you might invest in a seatbelt too at work just to make sure you dont fall out of it--lol
don't know what you are talking about sprite, but of course the troublesome twosome can always find booze
Yikes! Accreditation! Poor thing!
lol pug
sprite, this time i can take all the time i need, and i am going to do just that
joso: the ei7 is the cold vino.
ah, i never knew
ok rose. Forgive me for worrying :) I know you know what you are doing.
s'okay, sprite. i am learning to let others express themselves without being judgmental.
If we worry about others we got little time to worry about ourselves
:D
I'd think babble would give you lots of practice at that gran
lol, yeah, liz...the word that makes hospital managers cringe.
joso, i do so hope i do not give the impression of being judgmental. please, please pull me up, and tell me if it is so.
you never struck me as such, rose. Not at all.
Me either nor Sprite
I'm sure you'll be fine but it really p*s me off that there's so much focus on paper in teaching and medicine! Wrong focus!
i never got that impression, a woman that knows her mind and with a strong spirit, but not judgy or preachy
lol, liz, exactly. and there are so many committees, and sub-committees. for goodness sake....look after the patients.
Will they ever realise that we can do our jobs effectively without hot air and trees!
Well, my ex-job!
our family doctor told us she used to run the practice by herself, doing deliveries too, and acupuncture, and still worked less hours than nowadays... with all the red tape she makes longer days but spends less time with her patients.
nope, never. and EVERYTHING has to be audited. *sigh*
Big , no huge sigh
are you a nurse too Liz
No, I used to teach, when I lived in London.
seems to be something that just grows as organisations age. older orgs should get a regular bureaucracy pruning
taught nursing?
But the focus there became more on meetings and paperwork rather than the kids.
Primary school.
lol, yeah, joso. or just shake a bit, and watch the rotten apples roll away.
did the chog die or freeze?
guess not... all busy doing other stuff... like babbling ;)
hard to believe we ran out of stuff to say
Well Iam holding myself back from talking so much since I do so almost everyday--giving others a chance
Doing the usual at this time. Babbling and tv!
we didn't, I am sure :) Just out of time to say it in... or out of focus!
hehehe regular multitasking there, Liz
Finding this grid not the easiest! Slow going in fact.
yeah, not many series in this one
Down time! Hubby does computer stuff and I catch up on stuff he doesn't want to watch!
I want to put down gasline but I guess its 2 words instead of one
:)
ha got the 9
watching a program on a lady who helps families make their very old houses pay for themselves.
good job, joso!
yeah I got that one on here and on myself
yay, joso
Another multi tasker
goooo pugs. nicely done
yayyy pug
wtg puglet
:)
WTG pug
oh, liz, the program is british. called ' country house rescue'
i think it's on ABC1
this house has been owned by 14 generations of the family. the mind boggles!!
are you all skilled with multi languages
Sounds good. Mine uses less focus - it's an old doctor who! But I just looked at the country house programme. Have seen similar and like them!
Oh that sounds really good Rose--I like things like that
lol, pugs, i speak english, anaestheticese, surgeon, physician, and donaldese
dear ones, am gonna leave the rest for later. Am so very sleepy, I think I am gonna give in to it and take a nap. *hugs*
giggle Rose
oh, and can read french fairly well, but speaking is very school-girlish
Have a good day sprite and look after yourself
Hugs Sprite--catch ya later maybe
sprite, sweet sleep, dear. and awake refreshed.
Hubby and I often play with words!
have you set your fireworks off yet Rose
liz, think of ruru. i live with his australian counterpart.
g'nite sprite, sleep well
of course, pugs. got stuck with 16 left, and had to list. :(
Does don have a twin then. Hubby also ru 's counterpart!
Hello all :)
oh, no, triplets, yet!!!!
then congrats
Was talking about his puns today!
Nice to meet you Mrpresident
hey prez
aaahhhhh, mrp!!! *runing around room frantically* xoxoxoxox
Thank good our hubby's don't babble then!

have been so bloody busy, but without being busy... that make sense?? Just great to see you guys!
So acrobatic today
rose!! how you going luv?
absolutely, dear.
up and down, dear. shall i email you? have you time?
I am always on email for you. waiting for my son to emerge from his room so I can make dinner, so may take a while to answer
bloody 14 year old boys! urgh!
isn't she liz!
:)
Is Everyone asleep?
I'm here pug, how are things with you anyway
everything is good and you? Did you go pooling
sorry, peeps, was off chatting to mrp.
yes i swam,
first time Ive met her
you should be so proud of yourself Joso for keeping up with the exercises
I will have to make some other arrangements, my pool is at a school and the students will return next week
joso!! you rock, mate. am proud of your staying power.
is there no boy's club near or some gym
joso, is the pool not open before school-time?
Rose does your hospital have water therapy
I don't know what will happen, all the parks dept. schedules end this month and they haven't posted anything for sept. yet
well I wish you luck on finding a way to continue
no, pugs. but i use a pool in a school nearby for my hydrotherapy. we are allowed the use of the pool until 9am. big plus is that the water has been filtered and treated overnight, so no nasties.
I imagine there will be fewer pools open as fewer want to swim when it is cooler, but there should be some
what about dancing?
does you hubby go too Rose and does it help
hmmm, joso. cutting it a bit fine, aren't they?
are all the pools outdoors Joso
i don't really feel comfortable at the clubs any longer, I'll leave that to my niece
hubby drives me there and back...and yes, it is very helpful. believe it or not, your muscles work very hard in the water, but without the stress of weight on the limb.
no, but obviously the outdoor ones will close
why dosent your hubby go with you Rose? Is he so fine he dont need it--lol
I like that you don't notice the sweat, don't feel icky as you work out
lol, pugs, no. but i do the exercises under the direction of my physiotherapist.
so hes not allowed to use it--that sucks
i did discover that you still need to clean, been skipping showers as I've been swimming at least every other day, been gradually feeling grotty without knowing why, showered today and felt 10 times better, soap makes all the difference. For a bright guy I am such an idiot at times.
Joso -do you have alot of snow where you live in canada
lol--yeah those chemical in the pools are not the best body lotions
not too much, about 3 months of snow. as a child i remember there being more.
Iam surprise that they havent dried out your skin
ei 7/44 - clue please
*giggle* i used to be a brunette. and in my younger days, i discovered even brown hair goes green if you don't wash it after each swim.:(
ei, german for icewine
gran, ei + anagram of 5 letter word for pig
i don't want a green beard
not even on st. paddy's day
well, wash it, dear 'liza, wash it
but the hole
Thanks - and finished
congrats gran
wtg gran!!!!~
well in today's world green hair would fit right in the groove of things-Rose
congrats Gran
lol, joso, so sad....we understand each other.
If my hair goes green maybe then I'll start clubbing
pugs, not this green...it was repulsive.
it's a great song, makes me laugh every time I hear it, smiling just thinking about it.
I love when she snaps and shouts FIX IT
what song are you talking about Joso
over to you joso
good to get a little story with your music, "there's a hole in my bucket" pug.
ahh I know that one!
Havent heard it in years!
belafonte and I forget
lol, i like that song sooo much. my grandfather used to sing it to me, it has fascinated me ever since.
at our wal-mart store they have a 5$ rack of old songs on cds and whenever possible I try getting one to build up a collection. Yesterday I got one by Grand Funk Railroad
and I bet you are singing it now, arent you? lol
belafonte and odetta... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yD-ffhv\nefsw
listening to it
good guess, pugs....he's singing it....
thanks for bring that back gran
good morning
93 today with 100and up index--:(
hi ruby
Morning Ruby--how are you?
wow, pugs, it is not even 60F here, really cold and it feels like summer is over.
send it my way Ruby!
I loved the summer, didn't mind the heat since the humidity was low. And after our awful spring and winter, th warmth was a pleaure
can I also send my depressed husband? I've asked his daughter to come for his birthday, even offered to pay for her ticket, but she's too busy!
why not--I will give you a break
Is today his b-day
no, it's at the end of Sept and he'll be 88.
She lives in California,so it's a big deal, but stilll.....
could he go to her?
no he can't travel any more and he didn't want her to come,I tried to arrange it as a birthday surprise
hellooo, my dearest ruby...and a very happy birthday to burt when?
It's the last time I offer!
30 Sept
Maybe you can plan something extra special for him then
ahhh, making a note of it...
she'll be very sorry if he doesn't make it through the winter.....
thats too bad she cant find time for him
but there's just so much I can do
ruby, we try to make mother mac's birthday each year a special occasion. the family, after her 90th, just will not come anymore.
how aware is she of things like that?
and so it goes, sweetie. you do what you can, and if the family won't come to the party, well it's their loss. surprise, dear. mother mac is quite on the ball.
but is starting to lose it, mentally. He is surprisingly physically strong, so it bodes ill for the future
burt*
ruby, please look out for yourself. elderly gents can become very physical. i have had 80+ year olds try to strangle me with their hands, and via my stethoscope, which was around my neck.
if he ever touches me, he's outta here
when not in their right mind Ruby they do things they would never do
ruby, it won't be him, per se. it will be just the way his brain is working at the time.
but that's a line I've drawn. When he's nasty (verbally), I just leave the room
Rose is right you need to take caution
Doesn't matter if he can control it or not' I am too small to deal with anything physical
someone like that can draw you into depression too Ruby so its just not physical but mental health too you need to be cautious about
absolutely, ruby. protect yourself...or you won't be able to help him.
true, pugs, but the dogs and my babble friends keep me sane and happy enough
I can't help him and realize it
that's a good line, important to recognise when a situation is getting beyond your control, can be tough if it's a creeping change
ah, the joys getting old...all these great things we have to consider. Hello all
same for me too Ruby. My guy can be nasty too with verbal abuse
hi lynx
hello lynxx
Hi Lyn
angel
whoops, you guys are my ang***
Ruby - is there anthing local that Burt will be able to go to when he becomes to difficult for you to handle (physically I mean)
ahhh hugs Ruby
there is no way he would voluntarily go to the local home. I would sooner hire somebody to come here every day to take care of him if I can't
hey lyn
I could put him into the guest room which has its own bath etc
what about a social group?
Hopefully it won't come to that but I am pleased you are considering options
he won't tak to anybody but me and th housekeeper
and now, off to lunch
enjoy, my dear.
thanks for the support, my friends!!!!
enjoy Ruby
bye Ruby
ta ruby, enjoy
Lyn is your icon something you drew
no Pug - just something I found on the web that suited my feelings at the time
lol - I was very exasperated
hope you are over that now-lol
yes - walked away from the situation - but still love the little sketch
or did the grid at that time make you like that
never the grid
news
sorry. meant to make a comment about "inlaw(s)"
well I need to go get things done before the heat gets any worse. bye to all my friends and hope you each enjoy your day/evening
have a good day pug
hi/bi puglet
I should toddle off too, g'nite all
tomorrow, dear pugs. hope you hyave a good one.
and i hope you have a good day, also, joso
What's green and walks through walls? Casper the Friendly Pickle.
*giggle* hey Br. how are you coping?
good morning, everyone!
good afternoon, all
lol BabbleRabble, and good to see you. Hi rose and dawg too :)
hiya, sprite!
how've you been, dawg?
doin' well, sprite. and yourself?
bit of a struggle healthwise, but feeling good mentally.
oh, dear. I haven't been keeping up with the chat of late, hope your health isn't severe. mental health is very important to healing.
O stats please?
no, nothing severe, and doing the right things to make it better now.

I'm certainly in the same age group Annie.

Happy hump day, Babblers!
Hi Judi
Ah, a pink rotary phone. It doesn't get much more retro than that. : D
I'm glad it's still Hump Day. I thought, after recent events, they might have changed it to Twerk Day. : P
Did you see that twerk is now in the OED [Oxford English Dictionary]
Uhg! Call me oblivious, but I never heard the term "twerking" until the MIley Cirus skank-fest.
It's pretty sad what they will add to the OED these days.
Twerk...combination of twitch and jerk...what people who can't dance, do.
This is true. However, I'd trade Enabel for the OED in a heartbeat.
Yeah, me too. At least OED updates.
I think that the OED picks up current new jargon
And so much more fun to say than "seizure".
I need to go "walkies" bbl
hello, not even half this AM and only a few minutes now
It feels like autumn here, much too soon
Hiya, ruby!
hello judi
half, yay
morning all!
Hiya, sue!
hello sue
hi Judi! nice phone!
hi ruby!
Ty, sue. It's a retro-princess thing.
if we had all held on to the stuff we had when we were Young, we'd all be wealthy
I had all the original comic books [[ let them slip through my fingers. Who knew?
ah well, if we'd all kept them they wouldn't be rare, either...
Hmm. Some stuff maybe. Mostly what I had was junk.
didn't think of that
I actually feel sorry for all those people who collected Beanie Babies. Oy vey.
hahah
uh h, mr. nasty is stomping around
see you later, kids
buy, I am not doing well with the lone e's in this grid!
take care, ruby!
I am only missing the ei7.
I am missing both e's under the w but don't have stats for them yet
ei7---someone clued it earlier as ei and anagram of another word for a pig
I did, however, find the oe7 all by myself - a sure sign I have been babbling too long!
hi sue
hi annie!
ok, I got the ei7, I even know what it is (and have drunk it) but still nothing from the bottom e's
Ty for the ei7 clue.
el 4 is slimy slippery looking denizens of the sea

two fish, one literal, figures - thanks annie!
maybe I need my morning tea....
Down to 25. Time for a break.

hi and nbt
now why did sherlock tell watson that the things moriarty said about him were true? i mean, it didn't seem like that was even necessary to prevent the snipers from firing. so was that somehow necessary to his being able to survive and fake his death? (i rewatched the reichenbach fall recently, can you tell?)
ok... uninteresting topic
help with O besides female hormone?
sorry hursh, it's been ages since i watched that sherlock and i've lost all knowledge of what happens

tis amazing to me sometimes, the people who haven't seen the game before, when they are regular babblers. i invented it so very long ago.
hey, i'm not in here all day every day lol
sometimes i miss a whole day 8-(
well sure but it gets played frequently and i just would have thought you'd have seen it sometime, but, i guess now is the time
hi all
maybe i did, and forgot, or thought it was a one-time thing
Gee, the G's are hard
I have seen the game before,.... I just don't chat often and I give you full credit for the invention of it. I just chirped in for fun !
good morning all :)
hi jm, cybernan, and any i missed
oh don't worry about the credit diane. do chirp in and have the fun. i like it to get played.
esp when other people do them when i'm here and they are ones i actually know
hehe
pee l
*gets a mop*
if i come across as caring about the credit, that is inadvertent. i am proud of it, but i don't care if credit is omitted either.
it is a fun game
gwennie (no points)
*gives hursh a gold star*
'morning, folks
hi welki
is this the texas week, jm?
??
Is a fun game on the side...I like it when people's names, nick or otherwise, show up in the grid :-)
texas??
hi welki!
hi jmc :-)
hehe - guess not. thought you had a family thing to go to in texas. *scratch that post*
hi, neighbor - beautiful week up here
uh. . .no. . . I went to brooklyn to see my great niece. . .
hi diane
lovely here too, although hubby's golf game got rained out yesterday, then it cleared and was beautiful for the remainder of the day.
ohhhh, in the southern part of brooklyn, little texas :)
haha i hear there are more russians in brooklyn than any other group now
which neighborhood, jm? (and yes, i was talking with anniebrook just the other day about that - huge russian population)
but i can see how you would have gotten confused. . . the wide open range of prospect park. . .
did you go walking in the botanical gardens?
that's a lovely area, always has been (even when folks said it was in decline)
ohhhh, give me a home, where the flying rats roam, and the deer and the antelope aren't ...
we saw a black headed heron there. . . on the other side of the scum covered lake from the dog pool. . .
then we went to lunch at a fairly decent mexican restaurant. . .
so, i don't think itunes is very good at targeted advertising
i was shocked. .
stats for the corner E please
at the heron, or the good mexican food?
i've downloaded 2 things recently - the theme song from "jeeves & wooster" and a 1935 "i can't give you anything but love" and they send me email suggesting i preorder katy perry's new album. um, no.
Ew! That was a quantum leap.
corner E is ep4, a little sword
ep 4/5
ty
ty
did you have any egrets for the heron JMC?
I should have known
no ru we were birds of a feather

ty - was trying to work the george washington one
I was just as bad at the wedding
well, i finally got my new refrigerator today. this has been an ordeal
how about the ipad?
i'm sure you kept everyone properly amused
it works. but i had to pay 250 for it
there was a guy there punning more than me.. i couldn't keep up
oh, and my cell phone had to be replaced and they were going to send me one by friday, so i'd have one in baltimore... but they screwed up. it SHOULD be here today. i've really been on a roll
It's good for you to be challenged now and again. Keeps you on your to4.
You could't keep up with another punner? He must have been horrendous
not a wedding pun-off !!! sounds like a nesty situation
i'd have found someone else to talk to!
gotta go play with the refrigerator. see you later
oops
ding ding ding for dorens!
a work thing distracted me
i have missed her
george takei posted one on FB the other day about submitting 10 puns to a pun contest to see if one could win. but no pun in ten did.
that's cute hursh
*!* ta da *!* - ty for the help :)
yeah, hehe
hagd everyone
what rock and soul group is in the grid...
bye nan
that's a very wide range, ruru
you might consider a clue that narrows our search
you can keep your hat on
i will do that
is the ei7 tough?
that was the clue hursh
i figured. :) i just responded because ... i am unlikely to get the answer... but hopefully someone will
Hint.. it was the lead song in the Full Monty
i'm going to say yes, onpaki, but, that's only cause i can't find it
ok, trying to remember what they sang in that movie
ei I sure don't see one
and then i'm very bad with knowing what band sang what song
fireworks! (she whispered)
something about being sexy? or stripping?
care to help us with ei7, gwen? and/or ruru's band? and/or the 9?
good morning everyone
help for se7 please?
se7 is a compund word, a s** of dishes + here's where I draw the l***
ei7 is a beverage, german spelling, frozen spirits
ooh i FOUND the 9
TY Gwen
still need the 9, anyone?
no but i haven't any idea how to get the ei7 still
what i remember most about the Full Monty was that there was a strike going on in the movie, and our hero was sneaking into the plant, and a kid asking his dad what was going on, and his dad started explaining what a strike was, which is not what the kid needed to know
ei + plural letter and a hot dog or ****er
ei7, here we go. e + present tense of "was" + another name for a hot dog w***ie
thanks!
sorry about that, i'm a teetotaler.
(the kids was in the theater, not in the movie)
now that you say it, though, it makes sense.
bottom, top, left, all grey!
<-- teetotaler, too, and i remember getting a similar clue for this word last time it was in the gid 8-)
i have un5/14, what is the other U?
yeah, and then there was some stripping . . .
un5, take out the wooden rod, and un5, take out the skinny metal rod
Seems to be a big focus on we**ies today : P
well, most of us are womens . . .
ah gotcha
coupla more J's and my edges will all be grey
well i'm off to finish today's boring work stuff. bye!
thank you gwen!
we4ies?
My edges have been grey for years, that's why I go see the Hair Color Goddess.
what's wrong with grey edges?
They infringe on my "I'm still young, damn it" illusion.
oh...
hasn't that ship sailed :D
u better duck ru
Sssh...I'm shopping at Forever 21...
I'm grey on the edges.. I get joke exemptions with Molly
lol
ah... if I were 21 again.. I'd do things a lot differently
See Gypsy, if I was old, cranky and had no sense of humor, that comment would have bothered me. : D
your only 6 anyway....long time away from cranky and u have a great sense of humor
i see i opened a can of worms and then went away
well i have 2 ju and 4 je, anyone help me toward my missing j?
fine, see if i invite any of you on my yacht.
There are 3 ju words.
aha, haz, you will be the first guest on the J.
there is a ju 5 and i cant swim
ok um, that was really just a ploy to elicit clues, there is no yacht nor ever likely to be one.
Do I get to eat at the captain's table?
you're the queen of the world, of COURSE you get to eat at the captain's table!
That's good.
oh i am heartbroken... such lies, such deceit... i like u!!
how are things in your idyllic corner of the world, haz?
Poor ivesy, the scales have fallen from her eyes.
Things are fine, I'm getting my packing list done for holidays.
where are you going?
yep.. cant see out of my glasses..boo hoo
Eeeeeetaly - Lake Garda.
niiiiiice
Si.
yeah that's my second blatant lie. it started the other day when i said coffee would be allowed at my house in order to get... umm... was it ruru? to say he would watch the princess bride.
I've never watched it either.
well he was under the impression that it was a chick flick which it is NOT.
And even if it were a chick flick, if you enjoy it, it doesn't matter.
it just suddenly struck me when he said he would watch it if i would allow coffee at my house, why not just say "fine" because, he would never know, lol
what with it being a virtual world here and all
I know, you could tell him it had been delivered by the lorry load. He couldn't check - you could ask hard questions about the movie to make sure he had watched it.
yeah, it seemed like a very silly sort of a thing
now i have just given it away so if he hasn't got around to watching it yet, oh well.
Phone
And back, but time to forage for tea. Not the drinking kind, the evening meal kind.
have something yummy for me
I'll try. It won't be as good as what I'll expect at the captain's table.
on the J
Yes?
:)
that's what i'm planning to name the yacht, if i ever get one
the J
Just J?
just J
it's very sesame street, don't you think?
It saves on paint, that's for sure.
And you don't run the risk of the sign-writer getting it wrong.
you don't know how dumb a sign-writer can be
they might put "Jay"
but i'm cheap, i'd prolly just do it myself.
I saw a label in Marks and Spencer today - they had lenght instead of length. Standards are slipping everywhere.
did you see that some dictionaries are now including the wrong definition of "literally" - when people say, for instance, "my head, like, literally exploded!" ? thankfully not the OED i believe.
Yes, I saw that. I was literally amazed.
:)
Okay, I must head off and let you carry on with your word seeking. Some interesting words today.
well, i'm done so i'll be off to sudoku whilst you get on with your tea.
*mutual poof*
Ah, you're done. Enjoy the numbers. Bye!
Hello babbleworld!!

Whispers back.... Hello Jilly :)
How are things across the sea?
Beautiful evening, just taken the pooch for a walk and now enjoying some babble time. How are things with you?
Enjoying lunch. Had the day off so I could be in our county fair parade, now babbling for lunch.
Do you have good weather for the parade?
Semi good. A few sprinkles. But no one here complaining with all the fires around us.
Usually is good weather for our fair (falling on Labour Day weekend here). Also usually start heading near freezing for lows, certainly hoping not as my corn needs a few more days to ripen.
Do you have a farm?
LOL, no just a garden.
Oh, corn cobs, thought of a field of corn :)
"There's a bright golden haze on the meadow..."
The corn is as high as an elephant's eye, An' it looks like its climbin' clear up to the sky
The corn is as high as an elephant's eye..... and....

Wi4 made from frozen grapes
A Slurpee for adults
well, now I can order one of those sometime and see if anyone knows what I am talking about.....
It kind of sounds like someone slurring I want some wi4

Not liking this grid any more this morning than I did last night :(
It is not a nice grid but lickety and morewords are helping
Down to 26 with help of lickety - will be turning to morewords very soon, I think.
Good day to all. This is my first view of the grid today. I had no time this morning because I hit the snooze alarm several times.
Hi scrabbs
hi Scrabs
How is Thursday, Liz?
Lovely thanks. Bread rising in the kitchen :)
Hi Liz, Scrabs and periwinkle. Just starting.
hi stidgmere
I just started too, stidgmere
Hi stidg :)
First 2 words with morewords - very odd!
Already one word down! Flying as it were.
done and gone, see you all tomorrow
Congrats peri :)
By peri, congrats.
Relax now, Peri.
Liz, you had me confused with the bread until I realized it's already Thursday there.
Yes Molly - and we're out tonight, so can't start it off tonight!
Lots to make with New Year next week!
Oh that's right.
At least most of the words that I'm finding in morewords are unfamiliar to me!!!
It's that kind of a grid.
7 left

May I please have a clue for oe7-28 ? Thanks
Congrats liz!
uk spelling of es 6
Good evening Babblers
Hi Wht
Oh, yes, congrats Liz!!!!!!
Hey there, wht.
Sorry, Liz, I don't have es6 either. Thanks will keep looking.
Crossy, I wish I could afford to retire. I might never be able to retire.
That is becoming a widespread worry, Scrabs.
alee
Yep
Sorry
Hmm, nothing put picked over, pinched chocolates in the PB. I'll have to bake something.
The oe7 is an alternate spelling of a female hormone
Thanks, wht. looking.
bbl
I think all the words in the grid went to Hogwarts and got invisibility cloaks.
not the oe 7 28 add the cheese you get in the store, long tube that you peel, just leave off the 'g' from the end
I passed halfway so I am going to bed now. See you in about 9 hrs.
It would help if the words in the grid bore some resemblance to English.
Fireworks
Last word was the expensive electric car.
ty for the expensive car. I was looking for Lambourgini but was happy to settle for the electric one.
I'm going to dish up our dinner so will see you another day.
Good night all lurkers.

Hi all! Just got my fireworks. Had a busy day and only just got back here to finish. This grid is definitely aimed at people from UK, who also understand Scottish dialect and have studied Latin. Luckily, I fit into that category. lol
hi jacs!

as 6/21 help please
*don't all just jump in at once you all * :D
Everyone is as6 ..

uusue - wa9/78 = what most people, especially women, are concerned about the measurement of.
7 left, time to finish
