Since 2010, I've lost 12 friends and family members, starting with my father, mother, cousin, two best friends, two best friends husbands, and two best friends children. Along with three co-corkers. All to heart problems and/or Cancer.

And my Daughter Marie in 2011.
No one should have to bury their child.

I've been fighting a bad case of depression, and find that playing Babble and lurking in the chog is a great help. So thanks to all you Babblers for being there.
I really appreciate you.....

Who speaks For The Trees?
Published: Sep 21, 2006 Tampa Tribune

Out on the banks of the river they grow,
Tall tupelo trees that Floridians know.
Their white flowers bloom and call to the bees,
Who work to make honey as sweet as you please.
They call this rare honey "tupelo gold."
Beekeepers have lived on the nectar they sold.
Fame came to this place, but because of abuse
Gold's glimmer is fading, so help us, Dr. Seuss.
The sad, sad story familiar to these parts
Is the river's been drained, while new housing starts
Have brought folks to a place where once there were none
Now keepers of bees fear the trees are all done.
The scene of this gloom is our fair state's Panhandle.
A backwoods paradise, now a backdrop for scandal.
Cities upstream gulped the Apalachicola low.
When tupelo gums need water to grow.
And then, oh the shame, it gets worse, yes it does
New dwellers took aim at things that go buzz.
Human missteps are wildlife depleters.
Meaning folks killed the bees, aiming for 'skeeters.
This wise man named Seuss once told of this tale
He called it "The Lorax," hitting the head on the nail.
"Who Will Speak for the Trees?" was the good doc's lament.
With tupelos dying, we see what he meant.
Now stand the last of the tupelo trees,
And the trees and the bees are what everyone needs.
Give them some water, give them some air.
Heed these sage words from Seuss, show that you care.

UNLESS someone like you
Cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better,
It's not.
