I suppose everyone's griped about ghrelin already.
rasta...col....that is not a word i use in my everyday conversation. i had to look it up. and it appears to be quite a legit word.
bb l. dinner ready. xoxox
good morning all
the ghrelin hormone might not be valid because it is actually an abbreviation. It stands for ' growth hormone-releasing peptide'
{{hugs}} my darling sprite
though I don't know where the P from peptide has gone, but ok, that is language for ya
hello my dear rose *hugs* My dentist visit is today, darling... still have to go.
actually sprite it is the name of the cells in the gastrointestinal tract which produce the pepsin, ghrelin. at least according to wikipaedia.
ahhh, my love...i am still praying then....
and wikipedia spells it with a lower case g
ah, here it is, growth hormone-releasing neuropeptide' is what the name comes from.
which is very weird when as you say it is an anacronym
I got up this morning and had a spontaneous nosebleed. What do you think, lol... bloodpressure through the roof much?
ks killed
*giggle* i think, considering what your day holds. {{hugs}} my darling
am having coffee now, will try for the apples after, and then extensive brusing of teeth... after that, just shoot me please :)
NO WAY!!!!! i want you alive and well, standing with arms open, ready for the bestus cuddle ever.
yay on the k's sprite. well done you
well, yeah, of course. I want that too. But I don't wanna dentist!
just gently hold his family jewels in your hand, bat your eyelashes, and say sweetly...now...we aren't going to hurt each other, are we?
roflollllll oh that would work!
hold it in your mind as you sit in that chair. marvellous the effect on how you feel.
hehehe you are funny! :)
i am so excited about the car...not so over-joyed about sunday.
*hugs rose* Well who knows, the new car might be there already. And if not, just let the man have his fun. You go do your own thing... laze about, watch dvds, eat goodies... and ignore the telephone.
they so wanted us to instal a GPS...but we held firm. to up-date the maps cost up to AU$400 each time.
omg! That is more than our car cost in total, lol
we are adding a glaze to the duco, as from experience i know it protects the duco so well. also adding the most dark tint to the windows as is legal.
oh wait... no... comma misplaced. But still, a load of money.
what is the duco?
the paint on the outside
ah, we call that the laquer layer (laklaag)
lacquer? Yeah, I think lacquer with a C
originally a lacquer developed to protect the metal cars are made from.
yeah, right
we use duco as a generic term
sounds good to me, darling. I hope the car will be there before sunday. And if Don is dumb enough to go drive all day in the old car, hurting his shoulder, he does not deserve any sympathy or help for it.
I like it, short and clear. Duco sounds good. But alas, not a dutch word.
oh he won't be driving...he will be on the motorcycle which of course excludes me from participating.
aw sweetie *hugs* It sucks when you can't do what you want to do, I know. Can you try and be happy for him? And plan good stuff for yourself so you can enjoy the day in another way?
yeah, i can...but am not ready to deal with the bon-homie phone call he usually makes. it tears my gut apart...especiallly when he invites everyone who is there to yell hello or cheers.
*holds rose real close* I understand, darling, I really do. I had to learn to let Rob go canoeing and camping out too, and it hurts. Such a phone call... he only wants to let you know he is thinking of you and wants you to feel part of it somehow. It is not gloating at all. But yeah, it is hard.
sprite, the motorcycle culture...the females feel that every male with arm reach is to be subjected to hugs and kisses...i so am not ready for that...and i am thinking i never will be ready.
you will, darling. You grow stronger every day. You have nothing to fear from any of those females. Don loves you, and hugs and kisses are a far cry from mindblowing sex, lol... which he finds with you. Have faith. Just let it go and let him... it will be fine.
especially females i do not know, and do not have the courtesy to introduce themselves.
i hear you sweetie. i will read, learn and inwardly digest. * sigh * you are so wise.
bad manners from the ladies and not so good from Don either. *hugs* Oh that rotten insecurity, huh... it will bite our asses each and every time.
you still with me, darling?
sorry, sweetie. pumpkin time fast approaching. went and got my meds.
ah, good! Time to nod off and dream sweet dreams soon.
wish I could say the same, lol
sprite, does the term ..... a crusty old bachelor....mean anything? that is a great description of don. he simply cannot see that his behaviour has to modify now that he is married.
hahaha yes that means something to me, I get the picture. What he must learn is to make sure he introduces you, and to let everybody know you are the love of his life and very special to him. Once that is clear, he can hug and kiss his friends, no problem.
absolutely sprite. i could live with that.
then all that is left to do is tell Don he can spare you a lot of pain and insecurity by doing so. That much of it is teachable at least :)
yeah...i don't think he understands just how much it hurts me...i am thinking he would be devastated if he knew.
yes I think so too, darling. Because for him it is just friendship towards the other motor club people. And he doesn't know the kind of insecurity and vulnerability that is causing you so much pain. You will have to explain it to him, and simply ask him to introduce you to them every time, as his wife and love. While he holds your hand, lol. And then you can stand back and let him act as normal with his friends, while you look on in the security that everyone knows he is yours.
yup, all good
but on sunday i am not going to be there...waaahhhh!
lol ok :) Just let the phone go to voicemail. No need to leave yourself open to pain. Make sure you have some awesome dvds lying around, and spend the day as lazy as you can ::)
wow, I just sprouted two more eyes. I meant :)
yeah, the ey's were easy...at least i hope that is what you meant.
lol no. I meant the smiley with the double ::
oh... * giggle *
laser is also an acronym - light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation. So is scuba - self contained underwater breathing apparatus. There's a point where they just become words. Certainly in the biochem/nutrition fields (where I reside) ghrelin is just a word.
:D
see?? just how much i see past anything wrong you may do?? in my sight you are perfect.
whoot!! g'day rasta
hello rasta, I totally agree. But that is enable for you. Always a surprise, never a dull moment.
roflollll rose.... kick me from that pedestal please, before I fall down... :P
oh...i will catch you dearest.
ah, ok then :)
i'm the grease spot on the floor under you....just joking...roflol
lololllll noooooo! Rose, please bounce back... I need you alive and round and perfect
gosh i love joking with you!!! we are so in sync.

you r the sweet bunch
you are very very welcome to join us any time, pink. We promise to be nice :) And yeah, I know, some babblers are not so nice. I white them out on my computer screen, mostly :)
lol
pink...not sure if you saw?? medical panel decided in my favour. workcover agents have to re-instal payments.
Yes, I know, I'm just griping. I was so excited to find it :) and then it was declined....
that is super grose what a long haul for you though
I hear ya, rasta! Just a beautiful word, and so smart to spot it, with that unusual ghr combo... and then to be refused!
just such* a beautiful word
a quick hello from SE Painland!
hi ruby, sorry to hear you are still in pain.
hi ruby
I'm going crazy
(or crazier)
xoxox to my dearest ruby
heading to sleepland bye all tc
Sprite, you're in France, right? I'm currently in Paris, my dd just had a baby here.
bye and hi pink
constant pain will do that to you. Poor darling :(
sweet dreams pink. xoxox
night pink, sleep well and dream sweet (or very naughty) dreams
congratz on the new arrival, rasta! No, I am in the netherlands. Ruby is in France though.
rasta, sprite in holland, ruby in france.
and rasta, congrats on the new granddaughter. i hope all is well?
are mother and child ok?
yes, some nursing issues but they're improving
congrats, new granny
it's a grandson, actually. But yes, very excited.
awww,rasta...so much pleasure. do we have a name yet? birth weight?
3.15 kg, his name is Trevor Ray David. I was expecting something a little more French, but I guess his French last name is deemed sufficient...
it sometimes takes a while for the nursing to really start going. Both mother and child have to learn, lol.
wow, nice and sturdy names!
Yes, that's what's happening. :)
hmmm, good weight. i hope all goes well with that family.
50+ years ago, when y son was born, my Greek pediatriciansaid "1 pint of Guinness a day" for making milk. I guess that's no lo*er pc, but it worked and he slept through the night at one week
I hate to think what the french population will do to the name Trevor though. Now that I think of it.
So far so good. I look around their tiny city apartment though, stuffed with cute little doodads, and think about how they'll be redecorating soon lol
Trevor has some back-up with his birth weight. is this the first for this couple?
hehehe nice one, ruby! Wish mine had adviced me that. I love guinness.
Well, it's a family name on our side, but spelled Trever because it was a last name. They discarded that because of "very green"
hahaha oh yes! A big chest for the doodahs, to be stowed away for many years.
But liked the other spelling partly because he would Trevor, their little tresor
Trevor is a celtic name, and is perfectly acceptable in France
rasta..i bet you have a cheshire cat grin your face...
ah, smart. And lol @ tresor :)
I've suggested beer & wine, to relax for the let down if nothing else. Her spouse disapproves....
hi Buggie! But they would pronounce it Tres Vor, I think?
* giggle * rasta...you provide, let the mother decide.
the stout really worked! plus more than a quart of milk a day. I could have nursed triplets!
beer is good advice, rasta. And the most important thing is to relax and have faith... for the mother I mean. She needs to have faith in her ability to nurse and be a mother. And in her baby, to take from her what he needs.
yes, no pronunciation difficulties there, it's very easy to pronounce in France. Of course the pronunciation is a little different than in English, but that goes for any name
actually...i didn't need any stimulants. the boobs performed well at each birth.
and do they pronounce buggie "boogie"?
once my boobs got going, they were awesome. As soon as I dropped the bra, the milk went everywhere. Straight in the baby's and my eyes too!
But Sprite knows what I look like, so everybody was surprised
that was me too lol
back to my cave
bye kids
ruby is a fireplug :) Not so tall and not at all burly.
bye thanks for letting me brag :)
bye ruby, all the best, hon.
no, the French know how to pronounce buggy as in the vehicle, so buggie is the same (and the double g makes for a hard g in French)
bye rasta, have a lovely stay and thanks for sharing!
rasta, please keep us in the loop
funny image, sprite
*woof*
ruby...{{hugs}} my dear friend.
I had better be going too. Teeth to brush, nerves to hell, dentist's balls to grab
Yes, granny the first, I see I never answered your question below.
oh the first is always stressful. Must mean a lot for the mother to have you there!
{{hugs}} darling sprite. WTG SPRITE!!!! just think of me and cobi. and rob is right there for you. xoxoxox
thanks darling. Apres moi la déluge then...
rasta...xoxox to you...it is an amazing feeling...the next generation beginning.
Thanks. Yes, she's my only, and they were having trouble, so I was resigning to no grandchildren.
an extra special xoxox to rasta.
Long time, no chat ((rose))!
Good for you, rasta--I have two grandsons, 3 and 2, and it's always amazing to see your own children and yourself in their features and behavior even at this young age.
Good morning, everyone:)
((crossy))

You're lucky to even find your car.
tonight it will be in the garage, so no worries. I am much more worried about the ice on the roof....getting scary up there
I hear you Trif
valentine and I are just back from a few days away to visit his mom, and I let him park in the garage while we were gone, as my car was in the commuter lot - we took a shuttle to the airport. Don't know why anyone ever complains about getting to the airport in boston. Shuttle makes it a snap
What? You haven't been out clearing off the roof like your sister? : D
I will be later today, molly, believe me! she has one flat portion of roof she can reach. I don't.
You must have had so many snow days off from school. Did they get rid of April vacation?
You all are much braver than I am
not as yet, bichon, as we start before labor day, and thus have plenty of room in our schedule. The town where I live, however, starts after labor day, and they are crunched. Not sure what they are going to do
I think we have missed six full days thus far
bravery has nothing to do with it, molly. This is where we live, and thus such is our lot. Some winters are hard, some aren't.
Well, I think it's brave to get up on a ladder in the snow and clear ice and snow off the roof
its necessary. I guess you are right - sometimes the necessary takes bravery

40 car pileup on the interstate near Bangor this morning...
Oh dear.Hope no one is too seriously injured.
ce6 everywhere weeps from the hatred
some with significant injuries....i think 14 to the hospital...
Good let them weep, Molly...lol
Sad to hear that, Pen.
It's actually one of my most used vegetables. I put it in salads and soups all the time.
amazing no one was killed...pics of smashed cars....
included a school bus with kids but they were not hurt...
That is good to hear then, Pen.
i was supposed to go to lunch with bro and nephew, but i opted to stay home and eat leftover chicken chili...
It's unfortunate that kids were out in school buses on the highway, in a snow storm
well it had just started snowing there.....more slippery than they thought, i guess.....schools are closed here....
Just watched a small youtube video of the aftermath on the Bangordailynews website.
ah....i saw it on the news at noon....nurse witness said it was amazing no one was killed given the scrunched up vehicles...
Yes the certainly are mangled!
they*
lady on the news was in an SUV that got wedged between two tractor trailer trucks....
It must of been a very scary thing to have to go through.
yes, she was hit from behind by one, spun around 180 degrees and saw another coming at her in the passing lane....she hit reverse and got wedged in between the two trucks.....she's ok....miraculously....
Wow!
yes, she stared death in the face and survived!
It's always so cheerful here in the chat : D
here's a pic of her car...http://tinyurl.com/p2pqqgu.....a\nt least i think it is...
you have to keep scrolling through the photos until you see a car sideways between two trucks...
What the blue one with half of the car sticking up in the air?
Oh ok.
it's a station wagon with a carrier on top wedged between two trucks, i think....
Oh yes I see it. Very luck lady!
after seeing those cars, i will not complain too much when i have my taxes done today...
yes, amazing...
Ironic to have a car advert next to the story of the crash.but there you go.
yes, really!
i am going to knit for a while....bb tonight to finish....bye!
BYe, Pen.
27 left and really starting to struggle.Time for a break to refresh the brain cell.
aughh! how can there be ce6 haters, lol?! Chicken broth wouldn't be the same without it, gosh! Carrots, onions, ce6 - it goes into every chicken broth I make. That's the "holy trinity" of cooking... :D
blech
of course sometimes I have to fish them back out afterwards, so many touchy eaters around here - if it were just Hubs and I, it would all just stay in there. I often save them to top our two bowls later, the heck with the kids, fussy ones...
one hates carrots, one hates onions... how can they be our kids, lol
mushy green things...ugh
oh, I don't let them get mushy, I like them just a bit on the firm side, like the carrots. And yummy in stirfry.
i didn't like half the stuff my parents did
for some reason, though, I've never really liked it with peanut butter, bad memories of school lunches long ago, lol
I do like peanut butter and honey sandwiches, though, and that's another school lunch memory, so go figure.
that's all one granddaughter would eat...pb and honey
you almost have to put pb on both slices of bread, I think, or the honey gets crystal-y in the bread. That's if you're eating it later, like taking it to work for lunch.
can't take pb to school anymore
fine cuisine, lol
oh, why not?
too many allergies in kids these days
oh, that's true, I forget.
they sure used to feed us a lot of it in the '60s and '70s, I don't recall how they dealt with allergic kids back then... I wonder if there was an alternative... pimento, maybe? yuck...
It's impossible to plan a kids party these days. Johnny has a peanut allergy, Susie is lactose intolerant, Bobby is gluten free, etc.
isn't that the truth, Molly - glad all the local kids were good with cake and ice cream, or my kids would have been deprived.
stop feeding them...give them toys or money
When my kids were in elementary school, the peanut allergy thing was unheard of.
"you're invited to a party, BYO food" - lol!
lol
Oh I forgot all the vegans and vegetarians
So you can have a party but no meat, wheat products, peanuts or dairy products. Water and tofu, yummy!

Glad you got it, MayanWarrior :-)

any clue for the re5/14 just before the re4/4 (nap)
To put up a sail again, most clued word of the day
thanks Molly...got it
Now that chat is full of clues, it helps to look back through the days chat for them.
I usually do, but I am in a hurry today
Have t go to a meeting tonight
it was the last one I needed to finish
Pity for Madonna. We're birthday-mates, you know. I'm exactly a year older than she is.
At nbt7
Good evening. Not off to a great start with this grid... I go across the tiles to see if I can find words. Not finding any (well, I am only up to the G)
Hello all. Just starting.
I got the O and getting some E's. Just in case you were wondering. (Which I am convinced you were)
"You might be somebody's mistress, maybe somebody's ****, but you're gonna have to serve somebody..." - Bob Dylan
I like that song.
Oh there is Douglas, singing again
"Then he walked up to a stranger, and he asked him with a ****, 'Can you kindly tell me, friend, just what time the show begins?'" - Bob Dylan, Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts
That word is also in the Dylan song "Maggie's Farm"
i keep seeing "orgy"...
I bet you do!
o.O
hogini isn't a word, but should it be?
i wish i would see more words that are actually in the grids.
You're not alone, TO. I 'saw' orgy, too. :)
hey,jacs!
I'd better get a move on with this. I was busy watching 'Wolf Hall' and had forgotten I've still got 60 words to find.
Gandalf said "May your ****** receive you at your journey's end," which is the polite thing to say among eagles.
Are there very many words which start in one corner, and end in the opposite corner?
any kn words?
I've got one kn word, TO. What you do when you pray.
Or rather what you did when you prayed.
ty
y/w
need 53. also need to make dinner.
Make dinner first and do more while it's cooking - if it that sort of meal. :)
Given that there's three letters of orgy on the top and three letters of orgy on the bottom...
lunch was too rich, i am waiting to feel better,
Do you have to feed anyone else? If not, just leave it if you're not hungry. x
anybody have the first re 5/14 please. its my last re.
no, but i already took it out of the freezer.
This has been a busy day for us but happy to be here working on this grid that has such improbable combinations!!
It'll keep until tomorrow if you leave it in the fridge (unless it's icecream, lol).
Agreed
did you ever have too much food, like i already have leftoers that must be eaten as well, or thrown out.
kind of screwed up, not used to cooking anymore.
Only happens if I'm on my own, TO, which isn't too often. I do try to think ahead and freeze leftovers for future use where poss.
same here. began cooking again for two, and when i am alone i cook too much
jpc1966 - not sure which is first yet, since I'm flying listless.
same here.
re5/14...put up a sail on a mast again
lots of words using y as a second letter.
gy hy
is there another re5/14 after?
Yes, a word that describes vomiting
im not a sailor molly i still cant find it
re + oil drilling platform, or 18 wheel truck
Just finished the r words and Molly is correct.
i found it thank you
FIREWORKS! *~*~*~* It's amazing what a few hours away from the grid can do - I went along at a cracking pace when I returned. :)
hey, do you have actual kittens or do you mean cats?
and wtg!
I think I am giving up. found only 81 words.
TO - actual kittens. Three of them just over 7 months old now. If you check out my FB page you can see their progress from tiny balls of fur to little monsters. :)
TO - I can see you've visited my page now. Check through the photos.x
phan - You do whatever's comfortable. It's not a competition, but if you want clues I'm here and I think Molly is, too.
re5/14, please?
Found it thanks
thanks, Jacula. I appreciate that. I have other things to do as well, so. But I might do what you did, take a break and come back.
Okay, phan. It's after midnight here in Uk, so I might well be in the land of nod when you come back, but there's usually someone here happy to give clues.
if I miss you then sweet dreams.
Thank you.
se7 pls
do you have cats are well? i thought i saw a full grown
se7...a fishing term
hmm, fishing term, thinking
Ends in what you hang clothes on to dry

No, what you do to the table with silverware and plates comes first
And seline isn't se6
ah, got it, ty Molly
TO - I used to have 2 adult cats but they're no longer with us. I do, however, have many adult cats visiting my garden.

he + head bugS works

Plural TO
hell, NOW what is wrong with this thing?!
head bugs does that a li4/5 word?
yep
ty. the bugs are already plural, hence the confusion. but ty

Yep. I tried the singular first, as well.
