miracles never cease. Praise the Lord and pass the sauce.

3:28 am

considering we didn't even receive a christmas card from her. i guess we should be grateful for small miracles.

3:29 am

absolutely. And probably just kick out any expectations you still had about her... they will only lead to disappointments. Don't expect anything, then a way too late, begrudged phonecall will surprise you pleasantly, lol

3:33 am

oh, new babble word: a femir! That is a female em4.

3:39 am

I can imagine. Would be awesome if it worked as well as he hopes, wouldn't it? Of course you are anxious.

Selfishly, it will be good to have a coue of days without running up and down the steps with his food, but now I'm looking for a nurse to come in the afternoons during his recovery, basically to walk him around. There is no way I can do it

3:42 am

sorry it came back, but so glad you had a day to recover a litlle. Will be nice for you to have Burt out of your hair for a few days, I think.

3:42 am

yeah, a nurse is absolutely necessary

3:43 am

ruby, any chance you can sit back a relax a bit, with burt out of the house?

3:43 am

The surprise was tat the hernia (s) are uch bigger than I realized and that he needs general anesthesia. The whole thing is risk at his age, but all he does is moan and it's making me crazy

3:44 am

yeah, pretty risky, but the alternative is worse.

3:44 am

Sprite, ty for jigidi, my favorites, o far, are the chows (of course) and the pinwheels. It is helping to keep me from going off the rails

3:45 am

Burt's daughter is too busy to come here to help

3:46 am

am ever so glad, ruby. Let me know if you have another theme that you would like a puzzle from.

3:46 am

I actually made one myself of Ruby's watercolor portrait

3:46 am

oh lovely. Did you publish it?

3:47 am

I'm not sure and don't know how to find it now

3:47 am

I'm sure it's too easy for you, but it's very pretty

3:48 am

sprite, i did my ballet jigsaw. it was terrific. and would you believe?? don came home from the market stall with a jigsaw for me. a degas pic of ballet dancers. what a coincidence.!

3:48 am

on jigidi, just click on your name at the right side (next to the Create button) and then on My Puzzles.

3:49 am

omg rose, that is so funny! Quite a coincidence indeed. Am glad you enjoyed your puzzle. I very much enjoyed creating it. Isn't the pink tutu child adorable?

3:49 am

I'm too achy to sit up now, but I wanted to say "hello" and thank you to you two dear friends

3:49 am

*hugs* for ruby. Hang in there, darling.

3:51 am

absolutely sprite.

3:51 am

*gentle hugs* ruby . xoxox

3:54 am

rose, same for you: if you have any kind of theme you would enjoy another jigsaw from, let me know. I'll gladly create one for you.

3:55 am

thanx sweetie. i will ponder on it....*grin*

3:55 am

:D

3:56 am

rose, I have sq and fe, can you tell me the stats of the 3rd 7?

3:56 am

please?

3:57 am

another sq7, sprite

3:57 am

thanks darling

3:58 am

sq7/48 and sq7/52

4:00 am

found it, thank you. At least some nice finds in this tiny grid

4:02 am

a horse is a horse, of course, of course...

4:03 am

*giggle*

4:04 am

:D that is why my kids call me a jukebox. Put in a word and by association, a song comes out. Or some odd poem.

4:04 am

that's very clever, sprite

4:05 am

not according to them, lol. They say it is really really stupid :D

4:09 am

fireflies

4:09 am

WTG SPRITE!!!!

4:10 am

thanks :) It was a nice grid, too small but nice. So... off to bed with you? And off to Mt. Washmore for me?

4:11 am

*grin* i hope your day is kind to you dear. catch you tomorrow...xoxox

4:11 am

**hugs** my dear rose. I hope the new med will work perfectly and you will have a good night.

4:12 am

thanx dear

5:57 am

Good morning all.

6:10 am

good morning, sukee and everyone lurking

6:10 am

Hi tbd

6:11 am

Small grid but finicky

6:12 am

t-b-d = to be determined. ok, dawg, 'fess up! what are you???

6:14 am

hi bojazz...??? what am I

6:15 am

sukee address you as tbd - just curios (or with not much else to do - puzzle tooooo small)

6:15 am

lol,

6:16 am

of course you have the right to remain silent and if you do not have one, an attorney will be appointed for you, blah, blah, blah

6:16 am

yeah, tiny finicky grid.

6:17 am

it's Sat for gosh sake - a time consuming challenge is needed today!!!

6:17 am

I agree

6:18 am

well, a bit bigger would have been appreciated like around 175 - 200.

6:19 am

excellent size - agree

6:19 am

niri

6:19 am

5 left, time for breakfast.

6:19 am

ooops, sorry

6:20 am

tbd...lbd takes on an air of mystery

6:21 am

good icon, Molly

6:22 am

I don't know. It's 9 degrees and we turn the clocks ahead tonight. There is something inherently wrong with that.

6:23 am

agree on that - leave the time as the time it should be all the time! :)

6:24 am

but it's the government - what else should we expect? logical, reasonable thinking? NOT

6:25 am

I agree, Bo. daylight savings is a waste of time.

6:27 am

well, it worked when farmers and ranchers were our backbone of economic trade, and they needed to use as much daylight as possible. obviously no longer true or needed.

6:28 am

agree it's the switching that is stupid. But I prefer evening daylight so would vote to stay on DST

6:28 am

morning all!

6:28 am

understand origin - trouble is once government starts something - right or wrong - there ain't no going back

6:29 am

my argument would be JUST stay, dan - daylight, nightlite, moonlight, whatever...

Actually I think they did get rid of it once, after the first time they introduced it, but then they brought it back. If I am remembering right.

6:30 am

woo hoo top two rows done :-)

6:30 am

see? got way to much time on my hands this a.m. - no more rants. the government is good...

6:31 am

Daylight Savings Time is not a waste of time. It is a welcome relief to people with Seasonal Affective Disorder.

I think that's going a bit too far, bojazz...

6:32 am

SAD? really?

6:32 am

You've never heard of Seasonal Affective Disorder?

6:33 am

just a few seconds ago...

6:35 am

OK - it is real. I can understand how it would happen...

6:35 am

Lack of daylight affects peoples moods. For some people, it's a serious problem and can lead to, or increase already present depression.

From what I've read it's not clear that DST has any clear effect on SAD - it is a shorter period of light in the winter no matter what you do.

6:36 am

Okay, I'll leave this conversation to the experts then.

I do know that Hawaii touts their non-usage of DST as one of the benefits of living there.

6:38 am

Arizona also doesn't change.

and they have more need for touting reasons to live there...

6:42 am

think I'd like Arizona, then

6:44 am

you're in good company, bojazz. A 2010 US phone survey put the number of Americans who don’t think the time change is worth the hassle at 47%

when did they take the survey

6:44 am

not sure if the survey question was a leading one, because I'm not paying to subscribe to Rassmussen Reports, tyvm

6:45 am

it's always comforting to be in good company...

If it was in the spring, I bet you'd get a higher percent of dissatisfaction than if it was in the fall.

6:45 am

hanging out on Babble is being in good company, IMO

6:47 am

jj - I'd also bet that where you are longitudinally within your time zone makes a difference.

could be, could be

6:48 am

good word, dan - that should be in a spelling bee. I'd never get it for sure

hey look at that - gold, frankincense, and ...

6:49 am

thanks, jj

6:49 am

thanx, jj

6:49 am

it wil make getting miss2bit up for church tomorrow a hassle, that's clear

6:49 am

yeah, it can mess-up the young 'uns

6:51 am

it messes up us old 'uns too

6:51 am

2Bit, you are already having problems getting the child up in the morning? God help you when she's a teenager.

6:59 am

generally she has no trouble bouncing out after ~11 hours or so. It's just unlikely that she'll go to bed an hour early tonight just because we want her to :-)

7:00 am

teen years are another story of course. I suspect she'll align much better with her mother the night owl then

7:01 am

stats for the bottom row E, please?

7:05 am

welp, I've finished guess I'll go get brekkies. have a great day everyone.

7:05 am

tc dawg

7:05 am

congrats, dawg!!!

7:06 am

53!

7:07 am

Hi scrabbs, yes, 53 and I am done. Getting ready to go to the dentist. Ugh!

7:10 am

Good morning, everyone:)

7:10 am

G'day, Sir Crosshair!

7:12 am

How is scrabby this fine, mild morning?

7:12 am

I still have a mild migraine which started yesterday afternoon, but it is snowing and I will XC-ski today and tomorrow!

7:13 am

We snowshoed yesterday because of the crunchy snow caused by Tuesday's freezing rain.

7:13 am

It is minus 5c and good for everything outdoors:)

7:14 am

We got a pass on the freezing rain and instead got a few more inches of fresh powder

7:14 am

Starting tomorrow we will be above freezing for many days. That put me into a panic when I looked at the forecast a few days ago.

7:17 am

Our ski resorts pre-purchases electricity in "blocks of KW usage" at a set fee. Now they will run the snow guns until the end of March break to make the base as deep as they possibly can and go into snow storage/management mode and just let people use it till it runs out (usually the end of April depending on weather)

7:18 am

There is, however, tons of natural stuff in the bush, and that is where crossy goes to play:)

7:18 am

The ski resort across the valley here usually closes around mid-March, but, with a base of at least 2 feet, they may stay open longer. The other resort 30 miles south typically stays open into early April if they can.

7:18 am

Yes, snowshoeing in the woods sure is fun.

7:19 am

I just went to our ski site and Blue has a 5 foot base today

7:20 am

Wow!

7:22 am

It will keep our city visitors happy and out of my way in the woods

7:22 am

Spring skiing and snowshoeing is fun--wearing a T-shirt and jeans.

7:23 am

'morning, folks

7:23 am

I know! I over-dressed yesterday, and when I took my ski shell off it was dripping wet on the inside. It did, however, do its job and keep all that moisture away from me:)

7:24 am

Howdy, welki

7:24 am

Hi welki

7:25 am

I am always soaked.

7:26 am

my fleece pull-over and my ski shell are my dynamic duo:)

7:27 am

not to mention a pair of those form-fitting thermal undies for deep cold

7:27 am

Yes, I just change up the layers depending on the temp.

7:27 am

They have really come down in price. They used to cost a fortune!

7:28 am

Do you have the merino wool ones? I do not and looked at some recently--more than I want to spend.

7:29 am

Sec , I will check the brand. i buy them here at Marks Work Warehouse...

ga6?

7:30 am

I will look with you, leona.

7:31 am

they are Wind River "t-max" polyester set

7:31 am

GA6 - type of petroleum and not females

tx scrabb

7:32 am

I have the moisture-wicking base layers, but someone told me to get the merino wool ones. The shirt is $50+ and bottoms $80+.

7:32 am

TY, teach

LOL - I'm married to a ga6 - baaahaaahaaa

7:32 am

yvw

7:32 am

I have no experience with the merino wool ones. I may have to give them a go next winter

7:33 am

ouch! they have merino sets, but it is it is almost 100 dollars apiece for the top and bottom!

7:34 am

Poor, leona!

7:34 am

And poor Leona too.

7:35 am

My layers work for me, Crossy.

7:35 am

Yes, i think i will stick with my tried and true layer combos

7:36 am

Leona, if you are going to be married to more than one, make sure they are not flatulent : D

7:36 am

oh my, a little one today.. hi everyone

7:36 am

Hi Aloy

7:37 am

hi Scrabbs the winter lover!

7:38 am

hello...any one have the fe7?

7:38 am

you must be in great shape, Scrabbler for all the exercise you get outside.. I think that is the best way to enjoy the cold weather.. rosy cheeks and healthy activity

7:39 am

My outer shell is a nice one from North Face. It was given to me after I volunteered at the 1997 special Olympic winter games here on Blue Mountain. It is a lovely commemorative shell, and as well put together today as when it was new. I did not have any glorious position, but instead kept people in bounds and moved hay bales and ropes around:)

7:40 am

clue for the se6?

7:40 am

I bet our scrabby has buns of steel:)))

7:41 am

Aloy, I remain fat but mostly fit--muscular legs, great endurance, but I have not lost any weight this winter. The eternal battle.

7:42 am

I have an old LL Bean shell--pull on over the head, front pouch.

7:42 am

Dan, I tried and gave up on that one.

7:43 am

Soarkly thing on fabric, 2Bit

7:43 am

on the other hand, strength, flexibility, stamina, bone density.. you are building all those things that tend to diminish as we get older.. great investment in the future.. and you are NOT "fat"

7:45 am

congrats, dan2 !

7:46 am

Move it or lose it, Aloy. When people become inactive in their 50's and later the ballgame is over

7:47 am

think I'll put your words on my mirror, Scrabs.. to remind me each day I feel like a slug.. (-:

7:47 am

Molly I like to celebrate my small accomplishments :-)

7:53 am

8:16 am

fw, off and on connection.. hope the server behaves for you all.. signing off - hagd, Babblers!

8:32 am

Hiya babblers

8:38 am

and now it is time for crossy's tidbit of the day!

8:38 am

When immigrants to Canada officially become citizens, they are given a free one-year pass to thousands of museums and cultural centers across Canada. The ticket helps Canada's newest citizens to discover the vast cultural history, artworks and parks of the country.

8:39 am

Nice to do a little self-promoting once in a while:)

8:39 am

That is fantastic

8:41 am

Keeping in mind that tickets to many of these centres start at a 10 dollar "donation" the value of a free year pass becomes quite apparant.

8:51 am

found a nice my 5/18 we do not get in the grid too often, although we hear about it repeatedly at Christmas time:)

9:06 am

<- wishes someone had told her about the one year free pass when she took canadian citizenship. (nothing about immigrating was free for me)

9:06 am

is that something new, crossy?

9:06 am

is that something new, crossy?

9:07 am

I do not know when the policy was established, welki

9:08 am

started in 2007 and is officially know as the Cultural Access Pass

9:08 am

aha - looked it up. seems like it's a new initiative, started around 2010

9:12 am

I was lucky. I came is under the old Landed immigrant set-up which gives me a status as a permanent resident. This way i have the best of both worlds and I keep my U.K Passport.

9:12 am

our local science centre charges $15/adult and $11/child admission - that cultural pass would help out a lot, but what about the taxpayers who paid for the centre? no break for them - and if a couple has two kids, that's more than $50 to walk through the door - much more than an average family can afford (same for museums and the zoo here - cost prohibitive to working class families)

9:12 am

i have my dual citizenship

9:13 am

Well, as a tax payer. it does not bother me in the slightest to do my bit to help new citizens enjoy all this country has to offer.

9:14 am

Many who come here have never been able to enjoy museums and cultural centres, while I have had them at my fingetips for decades.

9:14 am

not saying otherwise, just that it'd be nice if citizens were offered some incentives to participate in the cultural scene, too

9:15 am

(at least here, in alberta - don't know what it's like in other provinces)

9:15 am

yes, a break on admission would be nice, but until them a visit is a treat and not a weekly thing:)

9:16 am

given a free or discounted pass, there's bound to be abuse of the privilege - human nature

9:17 am

There are many free ones though, if you dig a bit. We have county museums and archives hidden off the beaten path as well as open donation township museums run out of old schoolhouses.

9:17 am

Not to mention our own town museum filled with local relics of our past

9:18 am

sure, i get that - but the 'pay for admission' venues are what people would like to see - a major art exhibit, the dinosaur fossils, etc.

9:18 am

ahh, yeas, the bit ticket places like our royal ontario Museum.

9:18 am

big*

9:19 am

I must say i do not care for the design of the new addition they put on the place:(

9:19 am

i was really caught off guard the first time i went to the glenbow museum and there was an admission fee. i was used to the museums in nyc that are admission by donation - everyone gets to visit (and yes, it's by honor system - and i'm sure that for the most part, people are honorable and donate what they can afford)

9:20 am

at the time, i was new to canada and had very little money - and a passel of kids in tow

9:21 am

oh well, it is what it is. time for laundry duty - later, crossy

9:21 am

We were poor growing up as well , so we went to places like The Robert McLaughlin Gallery and the Ontario Science centre

9:21 am

tc welki

9:22 am

Sadly, the science centre is a shadow of what it once was:(

9:23 am

There was also a Horticultural centre we used to frequent as I recall.

9:46 am

This grid is putting up a hard fight. think I shall head over to Jigidi for a bit. TC all, and do not forget to check out the puzzles i have created on Jigidi for my Babble friends. i promise to add some new ones real soon!

9:53 am

fireworks, last one was a goaty sa5

9:53 am

congrats!

9:55 am

i am also done.... :oD

9:57 am

Lots of free things to visit in DC, including The National Zoo and many of the art galleries and museums. Which makes it nice for the people who have spent money traveling there to visit.

9:57 am

:)

10:05 am

we have a nice art museum in my town....supported by the Wyeths, whose summer houses are in this area....what's nice is that residents of my town can go for free anytime....not bad for a town of 7600...

10:13 am

If I excitedly discover tr 4/5 one more time I'm gonna scream

10:21 am

Good Morning Everyone. I'd like to chime in on the museum fees for visits. I've found that if you check around on the museums' online sites, you may find that there may be a day once a month or once a week that has a free entry day.

10:21 am

Well I guess it's good to get excited over 4 letter words

10:22 am

Or reduced fees; for the public. And if you join 1 museum, you can get discounted tickets to numerous museums across the country.

10:22 am

very true, nef....we have that here...

10:22 am

I've heard that about US museums Nef. Not sure about the Canadian ones that were being discussed. Having grown up around DC, I can't imagine paying to get into a museum. I am fortunate in that respect.

10:27 am

It's been so long since I've been to Canada that my kids have grown up since back then! But I remember we went to a couple of museums near Kenora and Thunder Bay (Manitoba) and it didn't seem very expensive back then (& we always watched our pennies back then)

10:28 am

hi all - clues for fe7,44 and mi6,24 pls

10:28 am

Chicago's Museum of Science& Industry charges $18. adults & $11. for children but also $36 for special displays. So for a family of 4 quite expensive. Few years ago I went to the Aquarium and for (4) it cost me around $75.00

10:28 am

mi6 ... plural of mi5/14

10:29 am

duh, i was reading it the wrong way.

10:29 am

ty

10:31 am

10:31 am

10:31 am

10:31 am

thx

10:32 am

fe7...fe + Mickey Mouse's girlfriend without the double consonant

10:32 am

ty pen

10:32 am

I just checked, and there are some Canadian museums with museum passports that are good for limited time lenghts; plus also if you join some museums you can get discounts to other ones. It sounds similar to ours.

10:32 am

yay hoyamd!

10:33 am

I think admission vs. no admission has to do with Federally funded museums vs. privately funded.

10:33 am

... I'd check out the Royal Ontario Museum website ... it's the largest around ... it might be expensive but I'll bet a membership there would get you into just about everything

10:33 am

YAY, hoyand!!! WTG!!!

10:37 am

I belong to the Science Museum of MN and they have a special exhibit there right now on Space. I took DH and our grandson there last weekend, and we also saw the movie in the Omni theater (also on Space). With our senior discounts and membership we paid about half of what a non-member would pay.

10:38 am

half way

10:38 am

Go, jes!

10:40 am

nbt/nbs

10:41 am

my membership allows free admission to general exhibits at 300 different museums around the world (it states). I've used it in the past when traveling and it's definitely worth the price

10:42 am

The most amazing museum I have been to is the Air And Space Museum at Dulles. The Space Shuttle, the Mars Rover, the Concorde, Enola Gay and many other impressive things are stored there.

10:43 am

<--likes the museum of Modern Art in NYC

10:43 am

big fan of MOMA, and the Museum of Natural History

10:43 am

Don't you hep cats call that MOMA?

10:44 am

apparently pippingeek is hepper than ruru...

10:44 am

I've never been to NYC, but we thoroughly enjoyed the museums in DC.

10:44 am

guess so

10:44 am

& Philly

10:44 am

or just too lazy to type so much

10:45 am

You could spend a week or two visiting Art Museums and History Museums in DC. It's pretty cool to go to The National Archives and see the original copy of The Constitution.

10:45 am

was also about to say something about the museum of scitech in dc but thought my laziness might not be understood

10:46 am

What's the gigantic museum in DC? I went there as a kid and it was completely overwhelming

10:46 am

and FW for me

10:47 am

Well Pip, I got bitched about here for commenting on "too lazy to type" so I refrain from using that terminology any more. : D

10:47 am

yay pippingeek!

10:47 am

Smithsonian?

10:47 am

smithsonian?

10:47 am

The Smithsonian, Ru

10:47 am

ah.. spaced on it.. yes..

10:47 am

There, you have it three times for your memory banks.

10:47 am

I need more coffee.. just got up

10:47 am

hahaha

10:47 am

well that was unanimous...

10:47 am

YAY, pippingeek!!! WTG!!!

10:47 am

okay, now that i am done, time to run one last time in sub-freezing weather

10:48 am

***poms for pippingeek***

10:48 am

The best thing about the Smithsonian used to be the giant pendulum they had in front of the original Star Spangled Banner. But it is gone now.

10:48 am

enjoy, pippengeek!

10:48 am

which altho it has its unpleasant moments, keeps the migraines away, so i will take it

10:48 am

no more pendulum?! i used to love that when i was a kid. could watch it for ages

10:49 am

One of our favorite museums in DC was the Goddard Space Flight Center, but it could have been because it wasn't jammed packed with people (like the Smithsonian was that week).

10:50 am

i will have to go to the Natural History Museum one more time before I leave NYC

10:50 am

and would liike to go to MOMA too, it's just always so bloody crowded on free days

10:51 am

I always jump at the chance to go to DC. We were there for a wedding last Sept., but we only got the the American History Museum. The one in Dulles is number one on the list

10:51 am

The Natural History Museum in NYC is way better than the one in DC. To me it's the ultimate in that genre

10:53 am

... all done ... may I offer a clue for anyone? ...

10:53 am

Congrats, dose!

10:54 am

YAY, doseffing!! WTG!!

10:55 am

<now will remember MOMA and Smithsonian

10:56 am

... thanks ... oh well ... maybe I'll visit a museum in the big city this afternoon while waiting for birthday dinner with kid at university ... maybe I'll find something neat in the gift shop ... ... gotta go ... luck to all

10:59 am

We've had some very interesting museum vivts in odd places in our travels in the US. theres' a museum in Rock Springs, WY. that has a Foucaut pendulum, but they also have a huge display of dinosaurs, etc. And we crawled under an inflatable planetarium in Peirre, SD. Years ago. (The planetary guide was a 10 or 12 year old kid: it was really quite good if a bit strange. I suppose it's gone now…)

11:00 am

yay doseffing!

11:02 am

(sorry phone call)

11:03 am

We asked about the Smithsonian pendulum last time we were there. The guy at the desk says it is the thing people ask about the most. It's a shame they removed it.

11:04 am

There is one at the California Academy of the Science in SF

11:04 am

Also an albino crocodile

11:11 am

I'll take the free history museum in DC over the 22 dollar admission museum in New York. Plus you are in a much cleaner city.

11:16 am

back.

11:17 am

front

11:18 am

:-)

11:19 am

Molly, the one in NYC has far more than the one in DC. And I have found lots of dirt in DC

11:21 am

There are three reasons why I like DC better than New York. DC is a beautiful city, DC doesn't smell like pee and you can see the sky in DC. : D

11:23 am

As a native New Yorker, I beg to differ

11:24 am

Could I please have the stats on the left corner O? I can't find anything.

11:24 am

NM

11:32 am

New York is really clean now Molly.. that's old news

11:32 am

I go there a lot.. it's a beautiful City.. very exciting.. and unfortunately very expensive :D

11:33 am

Everyone has their own likes and dislikes. Personally, I don't like New York. I find it kind of gross and way too crowded. I'm sure there are plenty of people who love it, as evidenced by how many people live there.

11:34 am

I LOVE your icon molly.. hysterical

11:41 am

It's supposed to be 50 degrees here tomorrow. My plans are to put on my sunglasses, grab a beer and sit outside and watch the shit melt. (insert maniacal laughter)

11:45 am

fireworks. last word my5, which took way longer than it should because I managed to convince myself that h didn't exist...

11:46 am

hmm. sounds like the new kitten has come out to play.

11:48 am

YAY, jes!!! WTG!!!

11:48 am

congrats!

11:54 am

I'm sure you all finished long before I did, but if you happen to need clues, I'll be in and out for a bit.

11:55 am

jes, I still have 15 left; but am very distracted so probably won't finish for a while

11:56 am

thanks for the offer. :-)

11:58 am

the last 15 are the hardest :)

11:58 am

take your time, it's a saturday, no rush, right?

12:01 pm

true. But there's so much to do and it's beautiful here (45 degrees & sunny, snow's melting & I'm reading seed catalogs! :-D

12:07 pm

winter has been so messed up... it's like the weather from here just skipped over and piled on top of the weather out east. we've have nothing for snow.

12:09 pm

We've had just a bit under our average snowfall this winter. The weatherman just this AM said that 2012 is the last time we had less than this,

12:10 pm

and both of these winters were abnormal

12:17 pm

I think we ended up with a total of 4", that only stayed a week or 2. big swing from a few years ago when we got 5 feet in 24 hours.

12:20 pm

ga 6, hint pls

12:21 pm

sorry, bichon, I don't have it yet

12:21 pm

12:22 pm

Got it!

12:31 pm

12:33 pm

hey, jes, that's ok. We like your company, not just your clues

12:37 pm

awww, you're so sweet.

12:38 pm

Well, it's true. (BTW, how's that new kitten doing? I think you went & checked on it?)

12:39 pm

And I meant to tell you that I feel so bad for that poor dog in your iicon!

12:57 pm

I had to use Lickety for my last 5. Once I found those last 5 I can see why they were invisible before!

12:59 pm

Anyone need Clues?

1:03 pm

congrats, nef!

1:04 pm

i am heading out....bye to all who remain....

1:04 pm

thanks, pen. You're done too, right?

1:04 pm

yes, i finished a while ago....bye!

1:05 pm

I'm heading out too. HAGD, Everyone; & Happy Babbling!

1:20 pm

I consoder this grid more to be pitied than scorned

1:20 pm

*consider*

1:34 pm

is anyone here?

1:45 pm

What does it mean when they start marketing a "retro" camera, and all i think is "finally! they are making honest-to-goodness normal cameras again!" lol http://tinyurl.com/pk77xha

1:45 pm

Well, they are mostly normal:)

2:01 pm

Now it is time for Crossy's quote of the day!

2:01 pm

"Ego says,Once everything falls into place, I'll feel at peace." Spirit says, find your peace, and then everything will fall into place"--Marianne Williamson

2:01 pm

I love that one! :)

2:04 pm

She has many fine quotes:)

2:23 pm

It should be the female but it isn't...enable doesn't even have a definition for it!

2:24 pm

Its almost the whole word, without that second N in it.

2:24 pm

ahhh thank you - strange word

2:32 pm

can I get a clue for the MI 5 please?

2:34 pm

Not the maximum...take off the last two letters

2:36 pm

Thanks so much, Molly! That completes the puzzle for me. I guess I will go get ready for my evening out with my middle daughter. We are going to a corks and canvas event tonight.

2:36 pm

112 - Canvas & Corks 2 hour evening painting workshop | The Faux School thefauxschool.com

2:37 pm

Everyone finishes on 53 days. Well, everyone except those who are here to chat rather than solve the puzzle.

2:37 pm

which category are you in, Molly?

2:39 pm

Oh I'm here to work on the puzzle. No one needs to hear every minute detail of my life.

2:40 pm

Or the plethora of over posted facts I see on the internet.

2:40 pm

I find that interesting...

2:41 pm

Do you?

2:41 pm

no, not really.

2:41 pm

just being silly, really.

2:42 pm

daughter is home, later, gater.

2:45 pm

Good evening all. Everybody having a good day?

2:45 pm

2:45 pm

Evening frog my dear

2:50 pm

Everyone enjoys babble in their own way.

2:51 pm

true, true

2:52 pm

Good thing I do not have to please everyone eh? lol

2:53 pm

must be a nightmare to try to please everyone

2:54 pm

I do not even try.

2:54 pm

That is why chat can be turned off.

2:56 pm

Thankfully, many babblers enter into the spirit of the thing with my tidbits and quotes and other random "over-posted" facts I share here.

2:56 pm

And I sometimes wonder why some don't use the facility lol

2:56 pm

i like listening to other people babbling on

2:56 pm

crossy I find your factets and nibbles of information very interesting - keep up the good work x

2:57 pm

Dr-G has thought of everything...well, Enable could use a freshening, but other than that it is all good.

2:57 pm

Why, ty worzel:))

2:58 pm

my pleasure

2:59 pm

I actually get email if I do not post often enough:)

3:00 pm

nice to be wanted, and missed cross

3:00 pm

Speaking of tardy, I am long overdue for putting a fresh jig-saw into Jigidi. I must get on that soon:)

3:01 pm

Sprite has some new ones, Crossy.

3:01 pm

Now that my classes are over I shall have more time:)

3:02 pm

ahh ty, zooz. Sprite puts up some good ones:)

3:03 pm

I have had a craving of late. I want to head out one day soon and pick up a real puzzle. Some big 5000 piece monster.

3:03 pm

It has been a long time since I have done a real one

3:05 pm

Nice to have a little sapce in some corner of the room where you can leave it out and do when you have time. You can also but these jig-saw roll mats..so you can just roll it up and unroll when ever needed.Saves on space :-)

3:06 pm

Buy*

3:08 pm

That is what I usually have. I use a spare fold-up kitchen table and just leave it out for the duration. Nothing finer after a hard day that getting home, puring a beverage of an adult nature, putting on some good music, and working on a puzzle for a bit.

3:08 pm

pouring*

3:10 pm

Shortly we will have a block of time where the snow will be turning to mush, and will be useless for winter sport, and waiting for the hiking trails to un-bury themselves. good time for something like this

3:11 pm

Supposed to be +7C this Tuesday!!

3:11 pm

Also when the babble grids are very low word count ;-)

3:11 pm

yes, that is when i fire up jigidi normally

3:11 pm

It got to about 15c here today!

3:13 pm

I think Spring reall is just around the corner now..Thank goodness.

3:23 pm

Been nice up here in Liverpool too zoo

3:26 pm

Lets hope it lasts..lol

3:27 pm

Be alright when my daffodils decide to flower. They seem to have stopped at just stalks lol. Still, plenty of time yet

3:29 pm

They are all out here. And the crocuses look amazing too!

3:30 pm

I've not got much - just two pots of daffs. But I've just planted some more pots for the summer and I've got some seedlings growing for my hanging baskets so hopefully my little pad will look a little more cheery as the year progresses

3:30 pm

can't really make excuses for the inside of the place though lol

3:31 pm

lol

3:32 pm

my theory is that no bugger sees the inside! As long as me doorstep is abloom thats all the better. Hopefully none of the little "angels" around my way won't nick the pots

3:33 pm

I would think they prefer to destroy them than steal them.

3:35 pm

that's true. The parks up here have that problem. The council spend a lot of money making them look nice only for the little gits to pull the plants out and throw them around the park. If it's not that then they go round smashing empty bottles everywhere. Still, musn't grumble - like you say, spring's on it's way! Along with my birthday (grooooaaaan!!!!)

3:35 pm

I Love nature, and green and growing things, but sadly I have a "black thumb" I can kill the hardiest plant in mere days:(

3:36 pm

cross you should try a spider plant - nigh on impossible to kill

3:36 pm

Turning 44 soon then, Worzel :-)

3:36 pm

I have killed many in my time:(

3:36 pm

only in body zoo, only in body . . .

3:37 pm

lol

3:37 pm

I have even killed the indestructible "mother-in-laws tongue" plant

3:38 pm

Well plants do need water, Crossy..lol

3:38 pm

And there's many a man that's wanted to do that crossy lol

3:38 pm

I water them;I feed them, and they wither and die:(

3:38 pm

hahaha funny!

3:38 pm

I give them fertilizer drops, but they die in droves:(

3:39 pm

That was to , Worzel..Not your attempt to keep plants alive.

3:39 pm

So now I get realistic plastic plants:)

3:40 pm

Funnily it's one thing I'm good at is keeping plants alive. I worked in a warehouse once and they had a dead ficus plant - about 6ft tall. I took it home and within 2 weeks it was pickled in leaves!

3:40 pm

Do the plants grow okay in the garden, Croosy.Or do you not have any plants outside either?

3:40 pm

aww cross you'd laugh - there's someone round here that's got a plastic lawn and, to be fair, it looks flipping terrible!!!

3:41 pm

Crossy*

3:41 pm

I once bought my beloved this gorgeous baby fig tree for our 7th anniversary. I should have known better. it was done in a month:(

3:42 pm

The one thing I do suffer from though is mildew

3:42 pm

i mean not me, of course, the compost in the pots gets covered in mildew

3:42 pm

grass I CAN grow! My lawns used to be a verdant , lush green. I used to always use the Kentucky blue grass seeds:)

3:42 pm

What on earth do you do to these poor plants!

3:42 pm

Need more ventalation, Worzel.

3:42 pm

I do not know,Zooz. They just sense me coming and give up!

3:43 pm

That is why I never pick any flower or plant while hiking. I just leave it growing where it is.

3:43 pm

ty zoo didn't know that

3:47 pm

Well that is the grid finished.Time to do..well nothing..lol.Will have an early night I think. And read a book.Have a great day/night.toodle pips for now.

3:50 pm

TC Zooz

3:51 pm

I also have a good book waiting for me later this evening:)

3:52 pm

So many books, so little time:)

Two left - and it's bedtime - sa5/15 and se6/27 - does anyone have any quick clues so I can go to sleep knowing I've finished

3:53 pm

se 6/27 is a dress with fancy designs in it.

3:54 pm

sa5.14 - part goat, part human

3:55 pm

hi everyone and thx for the se crossy

Oh duh, Lynxx - I might have got that eventually had I not been impatient. The dress with fancy designs is baffling me...

3:55 pm

se6.27 not so much a dress but the sparkles sewn on it

3:55 pm

Howdy, Andree

3:55 pm

hi Andree

3:56 pm

yes, I am a guy, what can i say? TY for the clarification lynxx

Thanks Lynxx. All done - have a good day/evening etc!

3:56 pm

3:56 pm

you sure are Cross - can see you in se6.27ed leotards

3:57 pm

can't!!

3:57 pm

lol

3:58 pm

Lynxx, we are going to have a heat wave this week. Supposed to go all the way up to 7C!!!

3:58 pm

A day or two of that and back down to minus ten or so by weekend:)

3:59 pm

ugh i hate the cold

3:59 pm

Lovely. Our temps seem to be heading south - time to take the shades off the windows here

4:01 pm

You would love to watch us Canucks as winter first releases its hold, lynxx. Plus 10c and you see us all out there with the bbq, washing our cars and wearing shorts and trying to mow grass that has not even begun to think about coming to life again:)

4:02 pm

And you see us all just standing there with our faces upturned to the sun with our eyes closed, tracking it like a sunflower lol

4:02 pm

wow - my last one was the frankincense and my5.18, would not have even looked to that corner w'out Lickety

4:03 pm

That one does not make the grid too often

4:03 pm

Sounds exactly like a Spring here Cross - the first vaguely warm day and evceryone is in shorts!

4:04 pm

Bye for now - determined to achieve lots today

4:04 pm

bye lynxxx

4:04 pm

You see all the march break skiers coming off the hill with "raccoon face" from the sun bouncing off the snow.

4:04 pm

tc lynxx

4:08 pm

our forecast today is 19 to 29F and we are in the first days of autumn and tomorrow 31
