good morning to you too!
hey saan :) How are you today?
nice and relaxed, getting ready for bed --how about you?
just got out of bed, grin... am tired but otherwise feeling good. Relaxed day ahead of me.
Hi Sprite :)
getting out of bed is a dood way to start the day!
good morning and {{hugs}} sprite.
hey Liz *hugs* and one for your husband as well. How was your day?
lol saan, indeed
Hi Rose :)
heelo rose!
*hugs rose* Hello dear friend, and how are you today?
g'day liz girl
Wonderful - sculpture exhibition down on the beach - will send pics.
heelo saanichcat...lol
please do! Just saw the pic of the lunch place... amazing. So beautiful. That ocean!
it seems to be a recurring typing error
okay today. have started taking the magnesium ta\bs on a regular basis again today. darn cramps woke me this morning.
I'll include some views of the other direction from the lunch place - local surf life saving club.
Hope they'll help you, Rose.
I hope it works, rose. Very rotten way to wake up.
really sorry to hear that rose
it's okay, friends. apart from the nasty jolt awake, no harm done. sprite, you said you were tired still. another pear-shaped night, hun?
yep, and a series of days of overdoing stuff. Am gonna take it very easy today, for sure.
g'day worzel. i know you are lurking, mate. nice to see that you are still with us. at least in spirit...lol
Hi Worz - from me too :)
yeah well running from appointment to appointment doesn't give you much of a relaxing time.
no, and having to shop and cook for 3 days in succession is still too much for me, apparently. But Rob is back home now, he will shop and cook today. I will do laundry, terra and tonight the dishes. That is all.
just make sure th4 is all, young lady.
yes m'am!
Next time insist on kids making pasta or sandwiches one night!
Or even an omelette - I'm sure that's not past them!
will do, Liz.
Taking a break - to process some of today's pics. Hope to catch you later. Hugs.
bye Liz *hugs* and have fun
okay liz. will catch you later. looking forward to your pics.
Looking forward to sitting with you all at the SLSC - enjoying the views, even without the sculpture festival :)
oh wouldn't that be awesome?
Truly :)
what is the verdict on today's grid, rose?
it's not too bad
a couple of curly ones, so to speak.
ok :) *gives monkeys another banana*
sprite, you would have died laughing. yesterday don pruned our plum tree. today he was cutting up the branches, even the small ones....using his....
electric power saw.
usually I slow down considerably when reaching 3/4. But today, it happened only halfway, lol. Brain must be tired.
roflollllll! Oh dear... men! Give them toys and off they go.
squirrel, rose?
just letting you get on with the grid, dear
hehehe I prefer my grids with a bit of rose :)
how are you doing now, hun?
64 left, and trying to stay awake, lol. I might take a nap in the morning today. Such self-indulgence... but I might do it anyway :)
sprite, it's quite strange. when i first had psycho, he shredded his sandpaper covers. nowadays he is leaving them totally alone.
psycho is calming down, being with you guys is good for him
we are going into the 3rd week of them being on the perches.
very nice record :)
and now for something completely different. turned my mobile phone on for the first time today. a message from a post office i have never been in has found a labeller with my name, address and phone number on it. and i say ...huh ?
how very odd?
will have to call tomorrow morning. too late today. very strange and a little scary
I can see why. Don't like stuff like that myself.
maybe it is the center for lost and found
sprite, have you heard from pugs? apart from seeing her a day or so ago, nothing.
hmmm, good thought, broll
oh, good one, broll
no, nothing here either, rose. But pugs said she would be very busy this week, might not have time to make it to babble
must try to check in my morning time, it's her mid evening time th4. th4's when i saw her.
if you see her, please hug her from me, rose?
for sure, sprite
funny little bird, the ti7
oh, is th4 what it is? must google it.
yeah I just did, lol, had to know what it looked like.
looks cute
yeah :) cuddly kind of bird
fireflies
WTG SPRITE!!!
rose, dear friend, I am gonna indulge and take a morning nap. I guess fatigue and the new meds are catching up with me. *hugs* for you and Don, and I hope you will sleep well tonight. Without cramps!
as i suspected from the pics, it is flightless. must remember that word.
nice, sprite. enjoy. perhaps you could email me later and tell me how you are doing on the new meds. xoxox
will do! *hugs*
Could I get a clue for ec8, please? Good morning all.
morning marc. ec8, ec + most of female deer + past tense of to consume

yay you marc
{{hugs}} ruby
Morning Rose
aaah, {{rosie}}, I thought I was too late. Spent the morning taking Burt to the dentist for root canals. He is really stoic, never says hen it hurts
g'day sukee. boy!! are you a sight for sore eyes!!
and ruby IS here...lol
Thought I was alone, digging through this grid.
ugh...poor burt....i had a root canal once, not going there again if it can possibily be avoided.
are you sure I'm here? Claudia is adorable; I finally got y e-mail to stop wiggling
*giggle* ruby...it wasn't the email wriggling...it was claudia. lol. yeah, i think she's a sweetie too
And I need to take a break from this, be back after breakfast
I even found the lettuce right away
okay, sukee. see you later.
hi and bye sukee

i wish you luck, dearest crossy. i hope it all goes your way, mate.
Been a long tough road. Breaking back into something different after 30 years in same business at age 50. Anyone who says there is not age discrimination out there in the job market is full of crap:) This interview is a work-for the -town gig and a plum opening;)

i had one mug of coffee so far and it does wonders for the heart rate but thats about it
wolvie we shall see
awww mlf. here, i keep waking up to each change in hubby's breathing. and it takes me forever to fall asleep again. the number of nights i have lain there in the dark, waiting for sleep to overtake me again.
granny i do the same thing with my hubby sometimes.. or his snoring lol
I snore a lot less since I lost a few pounds and my apnea has abated
yeah, mlf...and there isn't a pillow made which can block out th4 sound. believe me, i have tried it...
and i snore too so..
good for you crossy...i lost all the weight...and nothing changed for me...still have to wear the CPAP. :-(
cross i have never had a sleep test to see if i have any of those types of sleep disorders. Just looking at that mask scares me
mlf, i trained myself to sleep with my mouth closed. having said th4, if the nasal bolster dislodges, i cannot fall asleep until i cannot hear the rush of air, or feel the escaping air on my face.
creeps me out granny
ae4?
lol...not the greatest seductive thing i have ever seen. but if the other half can sleep....it is worth it. mlf, hun. check out the Resmed machines and masks. you might be surprised
mlf, ae4...a long time
i would also scare my cat lol
or ae + not off
oh duh sorry granny i should have seen that
lolol...don used to say i was blowing out his pilot light...
nice granny lol
but...compared to the noise without the CPAP, he does concede the breeze is not much of a problem.
uhh no thanks
well what do you know - finally found 2 8 letter words lol- took awhile
what do they begin with wolvie?
i only have ec8
mlf...you have my email addy? it is in my profile. i am quite willing to chat with you about this. i do have to say...once i started using the CPAP, my tiredness subsided, and my life turned around.
tr - they are related to each other
oh ty- now i know what to look for mlf
ty wolvie i just got a tr 7/8
:-)
and the other tr8
morning all, could someone please clue me the ec8, I cannot find it even on a list
mlf, i remember the first few nights, sleeping with the CPAP. the only way to describe it was horizontal parade rest. i woke up in the exactly the same position i went to sleep in.
i probably would too
e + bottom part of face + consumed
button, e + body feature below your mouth + past tense of to consume
hi buttonman-
oh annie and rose are so good with those clues lol

thanks, Granny, I would never have found it without a clue
and g'day buttonman
:)
button, and anniebrook, mate
hi, button
I know this is kind of vague but Sarah Palin always said in response to a remark, she said you be****! This is sort of name that word.
bugger, finger nail has split and broken....and now i have to try and grow it AGAIN...
darn or dammm! rose
ttfn all- hope to bb later. :-)
np's wolvie. hope your day is kind to you
bye wolvie, later
hagd, wolvie
annie, this is on the left hand...i chewed two of th4 over the last few weeks. i had one quite a de6 length, it split and broke tonight. i cut and filed it and the wretched thing still went to the quick. * sigh *
rose, I found when I was working it was hard to have de6 nails. I was always breaking th4.
i wish, annie. i have to use toe-nail clippers to cut my fingernails. they are very strong.
rose, how are you feeling?
well now th4 you mention it...i am a tad anxious. waiting for a decision r4e disability support pension...also awaiting results of my case re workers' compensation for my work-place injury.
rose, Waiting for a decision to favor you is not easy. You certainly deserve a disability pension if you cannot work as you did before. Good luck on the workers comp case..you should get a judgment in your favor.
rose, Waiting for a decision to favor you is not easy. You certainly deserve a disability pension if you cannot work as you did before. Good luck on the workers comp case..you should get a judgment in your favor.
annie, dear...it is my bed-time. my meds are working very well. i hope your day treats you well, hun. and thanx for your support. not a lot of people support me.
rose, have a peaceful sleep and wake up refreshed
xoxox annie.

Annie I will be in NYC tomorrow thru Sat.
peri, coming in for anything special?
I will be staying with friends. have not been there in many years. going to MomA and the usual tourist stuff.
maybe see a show, not sure if they have bought any tickets.
it will be nice to get away for a while
anything I should try, do or see when I am there?
peri, The Met Museum of Art and The Frick are great museums. The World Trade Center too.
ok
I am dying to see the Book of Mormon but the tickets are so expensive.
I would too. Have you seen Beautiful? my friends have seen it already
I only get into NY when I must go. I am not as ambulatory as I once was. No, I haven't but one of the ladies I play mah jongg with saw it and loved it.
It's too bad Broadway can't do a few affordable shows a week for those of us not made of money.
Annie, do you live near Coney Island. last time I was there I was 12!
do they still have the TKTS booths for 1/2 price tickets?
peri, Yes they still have TKTS but get there very early and be prepared to stand on line. Yes, I live near Coney.
I hate standing in line and there is so much to see in NY
I would love to meet you someday Annie. maybe next. I could take the train or bus to NYC and then come to you. what do you think. wish Mom could come too. that would be fun.
Try going to the box office of the shows, sometimes you can get lucky.
that is an idea
peri, it would be very nice meeting you. Just be prepared I dont get around the way I used to. I could meet you in the city but I cannot walk around a lot. A restaurant would be nice.
NO, I meant that I would come to Coney Island or somewhere near to your
or we could meet at a restaurant.
Hi kids. My first patient just left in an ambulance and is going up to our children's hospital--difficulty breathing, wheezing...cute little 5 yr old.
hope he or she will be all right, Scrabbs
Oh dear Scrabbs..hope everything turns out okay
She will get better but she is exhausted from breathing hard and fast all night.
peri, we could put plans on the back burner for now.
ok, Annie

By the way, the tr7 rhymes with a measurement as there are 16 blank to a pound

and hi everyone, just in for a few minutes, brother is coming over to take me to lunch
Good morning, all!
hi Judi
hi,judi
I saw some woman walking down a public city street, wearing pajamas and a bathrobe. How lazy can you get??
That was this morning, by the way.
I once had a coworker whose abusive husband locked her out when she stepped out in her bathrobe to put out the trash; she had to walk quite a ways to get to a friend who would help her. you just never know!
Well, this woman was walking with a man and a dog on a leash. It looked a little too routine to me.
glad to know he didn't have the woman on a leash! ;->
...or did you mean the woman had both the man and the dog on a leash? ;->
lol. Well yes, points for that at least.
I see women in the grocery store all the time in fuzzy pajama pants and fuzzy slippers. Apparently, getting dressed to go out is no longer a requirement.
it's a lack of self resepct
I think that outfit is required for Walmart.
Either lack of self respect or just "I don't give a shit".
I think when you're carrying your social network with you in your pocket wherever you go, you end up not thinking as much about the people in your "face to face" world. Not necessarily a good thing.
Oh man 2Bit, that is sad, but probably true.
Speaking of sad but true, this is an excerpt from an article about the winner of the Miss America pageant. "For her talent performance, Kazantsev sang Pharrell Williams' "Happy" while sitting cross-legged on the stage and banging a red plastic cup on the floor."
Once upon a time, people would have assumed someone dressed like that had just walked away from a hospital or escaped from a mental institution.
lol, Molly! Wow.
Men on leashes are commonplace out here
Woof!
Her name isn't Dixie is it Molly?
Kira, close enough.
*Sniff* I miss Pope Pommes Frites
Hugh Hefner wears pajamas all day judi
isn't he a geriatric tho?
Jac, I'm rooting for your vote for independence this week.
I'm pretty sure Hef doesn't walk the streets in his jammies.
i am a yes, i ws a no, then i havered for a bit then i paid attention to what was beinf said by Cameron and his uber rich cronies, now i want to save my country
sorry bad hands today spelling pays the price lol
the last re6/21, please?
Re + sporting group.
thanks
Time for a break. 57 left.
ne7, please?
good morning, everyone :-)
hola
don't know, marc - just starting
You should be working :D
I know!
Being at work doesn't seem to stop people from playing this game. : D
I am surprised at how many babbler play at work
well, just to clarify, in case big brother is watching - I am at home
we were told not to use computers for personal use and I never took the chance

zooz, how do you thingk the Scottish independence vote will go on Thurs?
I feel they will vote no when it comes to the crunch.
Personally, I hope that. The have much more to gain by staying in the UK
From what I have read, there could be ways to avoid a credit crunch. Personally, I am for Scotland having their independence.
Well for me I would like it to saty as part of the UK. Selfish reaons as I have always known England to include Scotland. But if they get the independance that some are seeking. Then I will be happy for them also. Sorry if I used any words that got me into the PB. But I could not be bothered to check :-)
I was reading Paul Krugman, economic columist for the Times and he didn't think thing would be better for the Scots. What monetary unit would they use?

Well, I won't get into a political thing about Scotland since it seems to make some people petulant. : D
Yes there is a lot of tit for tat tactics going on, Bichon about companies moving to the south if Scotland get the yes vote and the prime minister going to Scotland and trying his talk to persuade not sure voters and trying scare tactics. Not into all that as I do not know how much is true..lol But I am sure scotish people are not stupid. They will choose what they think is right for them.
i need one more NO4?
things just get compicatored and complicatored...................
one ends in a vowel the other ends in N

Is anyone else having problems finding re words?

i need 4 more
Molly I think that is a shame if people get funny about discussing a particular subject. I do not et offended if someone does not agree with me.I would rather agree to dis-agree with someone than to fall out with them.
the re are not too weird, as far as weird goes in this grid
lol kje is that supposed to make it easier for anyone to magically find them?
Thanks Zoom, I feel the same way. As far as Scotland goes, I can see why they would want their independence. I think it's easy for people who have not lived under the rule of another country to dismiss that desire of theirs.
re/6 to keep something
i have all 3 of the re 6 words sammy
i still need one of the 6
and 2 5's
re 6/18 is it happened a short time ago
However, if the vote is "no", I will assume that there are not enough people interested in real independence. Kind of like those who live at home with Mom and Dad all their lives.
one is to put a group of players together again
re pluste4/5
Well Ireland went independant way back in the early 1920 something not sure about the date to be honest. seemed to work for them.I am not sure about what happens though if Scotland get independance. All this talk about they can not use the pound. Who will own the oil in the north sea etc
Claiming independence is not an easy thing, to be sure. But I think people have a right to live in a country governed by their own people. We Americans are uppity that way since we claimed our independence 238 years ago. : D
And Ireland is not completely independent yet.
There was a poll done recently in the UK about if Scotland get their independance a high percentage of people said stuff them they can have it. I am thinking ..hang on ..they are next door neighbours..we can trade with them for starters. We should be supporting one another not getting all up our own bottoms and getting a stiff upper lip.
Yes well that is an issue that will run & run I feel, Molly. re: Northern Ireland.
I wish more people felt the way you did Zoom.
Again, "stuff them, they can have their independence" smacks of people who have never lived under the rule of another country.
im
Still we shall see what happens this Thursday!
This chatt log is running very slow here.
Hello, Sandy :-)
We technically became independent from the U.K in 1982 and the sky did not fall. We wish Scotland well:)
Hello, Crossy!

Hello, Ruby :-)
just got off the phone with my son who is coming to visit in Oct. Yay.

hi ruby and hi cross
I bet you are excited, Ruby :-)
I reached my small goals earlier and am too tired to do more than say "hello" and vote Yea for Babble
He and his wife are going to Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris and here
Maybe a nice early night.A good restful sleep and you will be right as rain tomorrow!
Nice.A sight seeing holiday.Sounds wonderful.
speaking of rain are they having flooding in Tx?
husband had a root canal this AM and I did a lot of driving and too much walking
I heard there was a hurricane in Florida, Mlf.
He didn't mention the weather, so I have no idea. A tiny branch of the little Colorado runs behind his house and is usually barely a creek
what part zooz?
ooh hope he is not in too much pain, Ruby :-(
Not sure, Mlf.Caught the tail end of the news story on Sky news.
he' very stoic, but I've been giving him mild analgesics
thanks zooz i appreciate it very much
You are welcome, Mlf :-)
good night, everybody
Could have a G & T yourself as a reward, Ruby :-)
Sweet dreams, Ruby.
Atually I think I have been hogging the chat way too much so will take my leave too. Happy babbling everyone.

The UK is a rather small island not a huge continent like the US and lots of us have Scots, Welsh, Irish and English blood in our veins. David Cameron's heritage is also Scottish. We do NOT rule the Scots or the others they vote for their own Members of Parliament who sit in Westminster, which happens to be in London. I don't want a split but we all have a democratic choice and whatever will be, will be.
PS I live in the North of England which is not too far from the Scottish border and within easy reach of Wales and Ireland. The US probably has beaches bigger than the UK so don't read our history as if we are all strangers here. We have always thought the UK would play and flight together and it's a shock to think we might end up with border controls etc to go see relatives up the road. It's a wee bit frightening!
you are right pat.. we have states bigger than the uk. i imagine it would be like a total separation from a child or a parent to be a separate entity. the social, emotional and legal problems are just way too big to contemplate
well said Pat - Standing together maintains strength

ty for your thoughts on the separation vote patxx. Others (such as myself) forget how small and close everything is in the U.K, and the ramifications of a full border and all it entails will be a shock for all.

going to scrounge for something sweet. Good night everybody
Lobster season's almost done, pen - what will you do for lobster rolls!?
Bye, ruby
night, ruby
howdy penquis
omg, I miss lobster:(
and good shrimp... and quality king crab legs..
we treat ourselves to lobster and Dungeness crab every now and then, but it's nothing like fresh out of the sea
and sometimes we can get Nova Scotia mussels here
Do they still air that show about those crab boats on the Bearing sea? I kind of liked that one and is one of only a handful of shows I miss after having no cable for what soon will be 2 years
they have a harvest date on them, so I buy ones that are only a couple of days old
Deadliest catch - maybe you can get it on Netflix?
No, I have not seen it. will have to look
We cut off all but basic cable, so I understand :)
nope, not on netflix:( But is still love netflix. i was not getting value for the expense of my old cable pack, so it had to go
ahh I can play certain episodes on discovery.com:)
I keep hearing rumours that we are going to be able to customise our "packages" on cable and/or satellite TV. I hate having to buy one package just to get one or two favourite channels.
yes diane, the "a la carte" programming. we have been waiting years for that as well. i got tired of waiting
the original idea was that you got the basic pack, then you would add ten or 20 channels of your choice for a fixed rate
I'm all for cutting back to basic TV as well, as I watch very little television..... it's the "other half" who realy enjoys his TV. :-)
my ten would be TLC, discovery, Nat geo, AMC, Dejaview.. and I would have to think on the rest
same here, diane, but i have a few shows that i like - but i don't miss the big bill
later, folks - thanks for the chat :)
As it is now, one needs one package to get the golf channel and TSN on another etc. etc. .... they've got you over a barrel!
yes, it was costing me 100/month plus tax and I do not miss that
they do indeed, diane, but they are losing people fast.
Bye for now welki.... I'm off to make supper as well, with 15 words remaining.
See you soon, crossy... .bye for today :-)
tc diane, welki
clue for re 6/21. the last one
Hey crossy.... see my profile icon ? Granddaughter made it using our now obsolete Canadian penny ! It is quite unique!
re + sports group
She took an old marble - like pedestal table, spray painted it black and then did the arrangement of pennies. Then she painted several coats of some type of lacquer over the top.
ty molly. don't know why I didn't find that ome
looking now diane
very interesting. i saw a fella who did his entire kitchen floor in pennies, polished them all up and put a clear-coat over it all. looks very nice and is inexpensive as far as floor coverings go.
I think we all have jars of obsolete pennies laying around now:)
it was well past its prime. When it costs two cents to make a penny, it is time for it to go:)
Canada will save 4 million a year by NOT making pennies:)
Whew!! just finished brushing out our medium- haired butterscotch tabby kitty! Pulled out almost enough loose fur to make a kitten!

Nef! I learned something! Never assume you can teach little kids just because you can teach older kids! *"argh" teacher look*
The younger, the harder to teach, I'd suspect!
and I also learned that EVERY virus in that community is new to me. I have been there for ten days with students in the room and have had two viruses already.
LOL!!! stid, little kids love you more! ;-)
Yep. It's important you build up your immunity by taking care of yourself, stid
true that! :-D
double PB, stid! :)
profound thought about to be unleashed on the chog...
third graders are DIFFERENT from eighth graders!
no way! where????
oh carp. *sitting in PB*
true that
THat means try to cut back on the stress you put on yourself, stid. (I'm a fine one to talk, right?)
didn't have those yet, thanks for pointing th4 out!
doing that -- going to sleep early, slept all weekend (this virus is worse compared to the first), and taking echinacea and drinking lots of things with vitamin c
Salt water gargles, and (even thought they say newer research says it doesn't work) I still use the zinc lozenges
ah, salt water. Forgot that one. GrannyRose reminded me that steam might help, so will take a lovely hot shower before I turn in tonight.
Are you using the salt water nasal sprays too.
Hot shower should definitely feel good, moisture /humidity always helps
no, no way to do them any more, but haven't had any sinusitis, just a terrible post-nasal drip that has lodged in my lungs.
Grant and Tom are taking extra-good care of me since I was hired. A couple more weeks and I might be able to revert to human again.
maybe take a shower and read James Bond's books by Ian Phleming stid
not at the same time, ruru
rofl ruru!!!! LOVE his books when I am sick actually, they are bizarre enough that I manage to forget for a while how yucky I feel.
I think I can guess how you want the vote to go on Thursday, ruru?
no, but I do have that lovely soaking tub, Nef... I could read and soak...
maybe with a nice glass of wine. Something good for a deep hacking cough. Probably a red wine, with a lot of oak in it.
I think it's pretty obvious about Scotland.. it's time
:-) Sounds like a plan.
something with lemon and honey sounds better stid with junk in the throat
red wine will taste metallic with a virus
YES! Great idea, ruru!
maybe a hot toddy
I think there are some good reasons for and good reasons against. I think the time for making necessary changes to the status quo that would make staying in the UK passed long ago...
I have tea with honey, and thanks to Nef reminding me, zinc lozenge with mallow and slippery elm.
that should help a lot stid
Red wine usually has too much tannin for me, but I was thinking it would cut some of the thickness...
but I think with the tea, zinc, hot shower... I will be good for tonight. :-D
young red wine has tannin stid.. you need something aged
meantime, I am up to 88 words already!
hm. OLD, like me?
1/3 done stid
sure.. or older like me :D
I'm old enough to be your Father I bet
I've just hit 101; but I'm tired tonight and am only trying for half of the grid
:-) my goal tonight is just 100. Too tired to try the whole thing
I have to finish them
not a bad grid stid. i have 130. got more than 1oo myself.
not a bad grid stid. i have 130. got more than 1oo myself.
No, you might be an older brother or cousin, though I think. You talk like you are about a decade older than I am. If we hadn't just had to get a brand-new mortgage I would be retiring in about 15 years. As it is, and since I love teaching so much, I might just go for the full 30.
I received a medical report for my doctor after some testing, he told me what the medical condition is and "that it isn't uncommon in older women…." Thanks , doc!!!
I like to finish the grids, but usually it's not possible. My status in the rankings has fallen off completely since I started grad school about 5 years ago.
how old are you stid.. if you don't mind me asking? 41? 42?
ugh. HE could work on his "bedside manner" a bit, the young whippersnapper...
oh no, ruru -- considerably older!
oh wow
I'm 38, still a baby.
I thought you were younger
almost to "red hat society" status (but not quite)
you are a young'un gremlinn
I'm guessing your 48 or so stid
ah, a wee young thing you are, gremlinn!
But I'm older than I've ever been before, anyway.
38 was a fun time! :-)
I hear that gremlinn
Last year I got to quote Monty Python and say "I'm 37! I'm not old!"
true. 38 was a great year for me. One kid was 12, one was 10.
I'll be celebrating my next birthday in NYC
late 30s, in looking back, were very pleasant.
at the time, I was too young to appreciate them... LOL
40 was really fun for me
really?? what fun!
38 was a good time. i had kids ages 4, 8, 10, 12 and 16. and last kid wasnt born til i was 42.
at 38 i felt that i was the luckiest lady. and i was
holy cow mkg
that's a ton of kids
At 38 my oldest was a first grader...
Not literally I hope - it would take a couple dozen kids to reach a ton of them.
that is a LOT of kids, but at least they had a mother who loved them. I love my boys, but more than two would have stretched me a little thinner than I had energy for.
I skipped the kidlets.. no little ruru's running around
I think you would have made a fine pater familias, ruru...
for what it's worth. :-D
naw.. I don't think so
Same here, stid. When I was a young kid, I loved babysitting and I wanted to have 6 kids. I had 2 and they used up all my energy...
thanks though..
You pretend to be grumpy, but you are kind and thoughtful.
I'm never grumpy here :D
HA! I knew it!
I pretend to be self-contradictory, but I am.
you are an enigma gremlinn
I agree with stid about you ruru. But if you didn't have a good role model it's tough to be the parent you'd want to be
I had crappy role models.. and a lousy childhood
LOL gremlinn
and yes, gremlin is an enigma. :-)
I was always afraid I'd repeat my parents mistakes
ruru, I completely understand. I am sorry your childhood wasn't pleasant.
We talked about that many years ago, ruru.
such is life though isn't it. I'm happy now. They only ruined 16 years of my life. I've enjoyed the rest
I am very glad to hear that, ruru! Being happy is hard to come by in this world. ((hugs))
So you grew up and became a crazy punned on a word game….
punner!
you guys bring the punning out of me.. normally I'm very quiet and soft spoken.. ask Doren
:D
LOL!!!
hm. *looks for Doren*
ooooh. DOWN to 100. My work here is done... LOL
take care of yourself stid. hope you feel better
thanks ruru. A nice long sleep after I finish this tea and I think we'll be in good shape. **leaves choclits on sideboard* see you-all again soon I hope! *poof*
night stid
Niters stid; take care of yourself!
hi nef and goodnight. I had 100 on my lawn yesterday celebrating the dedication of my Little Free Library--saw them in Minnesota!
I'was entering all sorts of words and just looked up and --nothing entered. I was seeing the ht as th and had tons of words that weren't there.
and go to Wis tomorrow to meet Swedes coming to see the farm--there is no farm.
Hi RoundBarn
how can they see a farm that isn't there?
And I have a box of books for your free library too? That's quite a celebration you had for your dedication!
Is that like how when someone "buys the farm" they can't see anything at all afterward?
I've always thought that term meant they died, gremlinn
Fell asleep watching the Roosevelts ar friends--so this is brief respite before bed, and going to Wis tomorrow. In addition, Elle's kids are in some trauma, their dad committed suicide so I may stay in Wis and just be a presence while they adjust to school
Yes, exactly
the suiciede was in July but its hit the kids hard as you can imagine--
e lle wishes he'd done it when they were 4 and 6 rather than 12 and 14.
oh, my, RoundBarn! im so sorry to hear that!
oh dear. I understand her feelings, but it's terrible at any age. (our ex D-I-L is threatening to do the same again...
Yeah. Pretty bad summer. The swedes worked on the farm in the 60's, hey don't know it's gone. So I'll drive them around Turtle township and Rock County and give them the books-- vol 3 is out now, have I sent you yours, Nef?--and, our wonderful house got moved so they can see that and the mural barn got moved, too. So I'm going so they won't be totally disappointed. I can also take muy computer and let them hear Dad talking to people they knew.
Where will you be staying in Wis?
At Elle's. It's only 18 miles from where the farm was. And I can be with the kids some.
I know you're tending Ronnie and so he is having a good childhood now.
Okay. I think I do have Vol 3, RoundBarn, but I don't see it right now.
Signing off. It's a long drive tomorrow and I'm not ready--I'll have a few hours in the morning. Goodnight, Nef--also Gremlin and Ruru o if still there. I lurk and listen to you, talk when Nef comes on.
He has so much anger at times though. My son says he thinks I'm trying to be his Mom, but I really am not. He's a big Kindergatener now!
Niters RB. Take care and drive safe!
Still, better for him to be with you. Sorry Frank's had a set back, and that you're getting a vacation. (See, I lurk and don't comment!)
correction--glad you're getting a vacation. Goodnight.
LOL!! :-D
(We need to meet up again sometime soon!)
I hope to get up to work with Jerry again, but not till Nov at earliest. again goodnight.
