g'day from me.
hi (rose)
hello dee, broll, aloy, smom
what an icky grid!!
ahhhh, aloy gone to bed. hope you sleep well, hun
icky tricky :)
FWs
nicely done, diz!
WTG DIZ!!!
hi granny
hey broll
hey rose
saw the latest grandson today. he is so beautiful. he slept the whole visit. what a cherub he is! his siblings were capering all around him, and he slept. he only awakes for 1 feed each night, then goes straight back to sleep.
oh, smom, so nice to see you.
sounds like a keeper to me
lol ditto that
hi again, what an angel he is
William just skyped me, they're trying their darndest to get him onto a proper sleep schedule
hello flosey. and claudia is an absolute girly girl. she was running around in all pink, with a pink "hair extension' in her hair.
how lovely
did you see that deacon is doing a 'marathon' to fund raise for his school? i am so proud of him...and as usual, granny rose gots heaps of cuddles...lol...i think it might be 'purse' love as i am sponsoring him.
braxton seems to be a mix of his own...not his daddy or his mummy.
lol, whatever it takes, those hugs are prescious
yeah, flosey...they are so lovely.
be interesting to hear if that changes as he gets older, looking more like one parent over the other
it is interesting, how they change
William is most like his dad
our daughter should di
that was supposed to say, "our daughter sure did" (change)
dee, when he was born, braxton looked like his older half-brother. which leads me to think he may look more like his mum than dad.
could be.. our daughter was born with dark, almost black hair; then it fell out and grew in blonde. Her bone structure seemed to be like my mom and me, but she has her dad's eyes... so fun to watch them change
lolol....so true. my second, braxton's daddy, had nordic blond curls as a toddler, nowadays, he is quite brown...but if he stays out in the sun a lot...the tips go blond.
so interesting
finally fireworks... so tired... couldn't think straight
the youngest son, however...he goes auburn in the sun...almost black before that
WTG DEE!!!
ty
where does the red come from?
hope you sleep well, dear. and awake refreshed.
lolol...no idea!!
ty rose... off to "find" my pillow
but we did look at the milkman VERY intently at the time of his birth.
best wishes to you and yours LOL
(((rose))) *poof*
55 to go and I'm off to bed, goodnight all
night, dear flosey. sweet dreams
Morning Everyone! hugs to all!:)
hello, my darling. my package arrived i see.
you are such a silly goose. pugs...you deserve everything good that happens.
Yes, Rose it did...those are big books! and again tysm
How was your service today
lovely as usual. we had a baptism today...it was gorgeous. as usual melbourne weather changed, and it pored with rain. our organist played 'singing in the rain' as we filed out. was rather funny.
umm *poured*
thats cool. Do you baptise right there in the church
pugs, i do so hope you will enjoy the books, my dear
oh Iam sure I will, Rose!
Does the church have to pool their resources?
yes, pugs. we are anglican. but even so, the baptists have their baptismal baths in the church.
I like the pics you sent! :)
lol, ruru...and hello dear man. are you having a nice day?
I did
Hi Ru
weren't they incredible?
yes they were---but the ear phone was kind of creepy
Hi pug
pugs, do you think ruru would like those pics?
I dont see why not--He likes a laugh
okay, ruru? am sending you some pics now...
but they are kind of sad too in a way, are they not?
pugs? i kinda think about the ingenuity of the people shown. it is sad in that they have to innovate.
Thats how I felt too---
I see I missed Flosey, is she feeling better?
i didn't see, pugs. i logged in late also.
or rather, i forgot to check. :-(
bad rose.....
I read where you got lots of hugs and got to hold that new baby! Bet hes getting big too
oh, yeah, pugs. hugs from deacon and claudia...but as the saying goes...let sleeping dogs and babies lie.
i hope you will excuse me in a little while...the motoGP will be on soon
oh sure Rose! I know how you feel about that! lol
good morning!
Morning Mrs Ruby! How are you?
Hello Ms. Pugs {{}} 'm good this am after having spilled a whole saucepan full of hot milk during breakfast prep
At least I know that that part of the floor is extra-clean!
I bet the pups liked that
Unfortunately, I didn't think of them until after. They were outside :(
How are you doing? You are up early, as usual
hi all
hi joso
Oh! Well no sense in crying over spilt milk! lol
Morning Joso, thinks for the imfo
that's what I said to DH who was glowering at me
thanks, I meant
np pug
hah, my maiden name, li4/7, is in the grid
that it is, I just now seen it
what is it like, changing names halfway through life
I got on here late and am just starting
or even a couple of times, joso. I feel like Elizabeth taylor with so many names and nicknames
Boo
eek!
{{sandy}}
How are you going everyone , espec Ruby
yikes! Boo back Sandy
back, for a bit...it's not the squirrel...it's the motorbikes...please excuse
{{rosie}}
voices heard from down under!
We finally have got the computor going well and so I have been wasting time again Ruby
hi pugs
how is the manse coming?
humm, I got the nickname Joso in my teens, my family calls me steve and if someone calls me jim or james I know they got my name from a form
Iam trying to get myself awake but other then that Iam fine
{{hugs}} ruby
joso is a great nickname
I hated it at first, reminded me of bozo the clown, but it's me now. came from me trying to unify my 2 names, signed things J.S. ... because cheap pens don't do good periods I made little circles, them someone read it.
hi rose
that's how "nel" came about, nancy ellen li**, signed nel. then, all the rest
I'm called nance, nel, Nellie, ruby, and worse!
and better im sure
(not often and not here, lol)
well I've been called worse, all of us have been called worse, lol hi sandy
hi joso
not sandy, pugs or rose, all of whom are angels!
hey joso
hey sandy
hi gran how is the weather where you are?
yeah I wish! But thanks Ruby dear
cold and wet again....
well get inside you silly git
my son is in melbourne, went for awedding and is back tomorrow after two weeks of peace here for me
the wet is bad for your computer
Cold and sunny here but the wet weather has been terrible
like laughing while drinking a coke
roflol, joso....am inside..it's cold and wet inside too
Iam getting the most wonderful aromas coming through the window! The farmer has spread his field with good old poop!
do you live on a farm Pugs?
no, but Iam surrounded by farm land
whoot...i wish you all could share this with me...they are such GREAT riders...
that's a pretty shoddy house, or do you live in a manger or cave or something weird\
Cute pony sandyloo - one of yours?
cu** jack, sorry about Team New Wealand's loss!
he is and he is very grumpy at the moment because we have locked him away so he wont get too fat on the grass so he missed his friends (our other two horses
hey up, jack!! where in new zealand are you?
but pb for you, anyway
cu** kitty
morning Jack, nice to meet you
that's a problem for lots of ponies in spring
I'm in Motueka, top of south island near Nelson
he had a touch of laminitus but is better - it was my fault for not locking hm up but it was so wet and stormy I got lazy - I felt very bad
Thanks puglet and ruby. That's Nina our abyssinian
ahhh, didn't visit there last time...maybe next time? would love to meet with you.
I have never been to new zealand but I hear its sooo beautiful
my grandma's name!
Keep his feet well trimmed but no doubt you know that
yes we do - in fact he is being done again this week
ul. Really lovely at our place at the moment, surrounded by trees coming into leaf and a garden bursting forth. Lots of weeds too tho ...
I do out other two horses myself but get a farrier for him as he is too small to bend down to and is also naughty
sandy, you will never know, until you go. hubby and i were absolutely gob-smacked.
Another pony trait!
I love the image of glamorous sandy trimming her horses! And also the naughty pony -- sounds like a good children's book title
we will go no doubt to nz one day - have been so many other places we cant miss nz
I like the name Nina, would have liked it for a daughter but didn't happen so the cat got it instead!
Not far away sandyloo
lucky cat..lolool...jack
our first chow was Rosie
was she a red chow?
Ruby, We let him go in the paddock for a little treat the other day - he didnt want us to catch him again so we chased him all over through the mud in our welllies (really glamorous that was)
My sister says that the most common name for dogs and children in the US now is Max, the name of the chow in my icon
keep those images coming, sandy!
next time DH and i come over, we are talking about hiring a campervan, and driving the inner north island. we did check out lower south island well last time.
we had a nice time this morning kayaking on the dam with the cat in the kayak
yes gran, i think we will do the camper van thing too eventually
sandy, naughty pony
Good mountains there but less interesting parts of the country too. Top of the south is well worth a look as is top of the north above Auckland
have to go and check on the fire (cold and wet here, too)
He is so cute his name is champ- he is my favourite
will keep in mind, jack
lovely to see you, sandy, and big hugs for the rest of the morning "club", pugs, rose and joso
later, ruby
but i have to go it's wine o'clock here and hugs to you nel
bye bye Ruby
bbl
and a little hug for our new friend jack!
oh and hugs back
bye for now everyone
*giggle* sandy
Ty ruby much appreciated
it's always wine o'clock someplace!
bye Sandy enjoy your day
*woof*
{{little pugs}}
I was wondering how you knew jack was ausie. your nations had better never go to war, a one star difference, the friendly fire incidents will be egregious.
bye ruby, hagd
wow, you are observant, joso, I didn't see the difference, thought jack was another Aussie! duh me
took a lot of staring, now it jumps out at me when I look
Any other kiwi babblers?
there are quite a few, jack
Hi all :)
Rose, I was reading back and saw that you've had a lovely day with the grandkids :)
hey, lizgirl
Until now I would have I would have id'ed them all as ausy
Hi and hugs Liz--how are you
Hi Liz
hi liz
aha! The extra star!!!!
Are you feeling better today, pugs?
I'd be feeling much better if I liked this grid more!
yes and ths for asking
has sprite been on yet?
I havent seen her
haven't seen her
Haven't seen her but then I've been in and out of the grid this arvo
but I got on late too
4 laps to go on the motoGP...
Ah! That season again! Happy Rose and Don :)
so long as i haven't missed her.
Pretty sure you haven't
yah, liz...next weekend himself is down on the island for 3 days...
PARTY!!!!!
and i am going to...PARTY!!
That's my Rose :)
down on the island, is that tazmania?
at the moment watching pederosa's butt. what a sight!!
Could I get a clue for oc5, please?
joso, phillip island. * sigh * must educate this man!!!
marc, oc + text message you + **es, fibs
ty grannyrose
np's jack
joso...tasmania is a state in it's own right.
ok, so as a state, down on the island could never be a colloquialism referring to the big island south of australia?
back to the grid for a while
no, mate. tasmania is always referred to as tasmania...despite what the locals think...
sorry don't understand the 'text message you' clue?
happy delving, joso
hey...liz...are you still here?
what do the locals think, center of the universe, lol
like a text abbreviation for you
okay, marc.oc + 4th vowel + **es, fibs
*5th vowel* duh me
starts from o in the 2nd column, 4th row
tried that but doesn't work. Presume it is oc + 4th vowel plus the first part of li4, yes?
Marc it is the 5th vowel not the 4th.
ahh got it thanks
Back now Ro, if you're still there. Was just skyping with R & D
thanx zooz. did explain that...hope marc picked it up
Hi Zoom, have missed you being on here
I know ((Rose)) was just relaying it again :-)
So you were saying Rose, geography lessons for Joso!
Hello, Puglet :-)
Hi zooz!
okay...dinner is definitely ready...see you all tomorrow
Hello, Liz :-)
Enjoy the evening, Rose hugs
Enjoy your meal, Rose.
night Rose, hugs and enjoy
*poof*
How've you been? Haven't seen you for a while. Condolences about your aunt - sorry to read that this morning.
I have been ok, Liz..plodding on as usual..lol..getting colder here now and the nights are quickly drawing in...hope you are well...i heard on the news here that you have been getting some very hot spring weather.
True - many fire bans in the area. Hot strong winds make it worse but walking on the beach has been good as the sea breeze makes it feel much cooler.
cr8, please?
Love walking on the beach when there is hardly anyone else around.
The beaches here are never too crowded even on the weekends and public holidays! There
There's so much beach here.
Sorry, Marc...i do not have that on myself..so will wait and see if anyone else can clue it.
np
That sounds wonderful, Liz.
Sorry Marc - I don't have it or any of the 7s either!
We try to walk on the beach most days.
The sand is so soft, it squeaks when you walk on it.
Me too!..it is not that hard for me as i live nearly next to the beach..lol
Is your sand white there?
Haven't been to the IOW for many years. Had a couple of childhood holidays there and took the kids on a school trip once. Lovely place.
Yes, pugs. It's pretty white.
If you google KIrra Beach Gold Coast images - that's one of our favourite beaches.
The sand here is golden, Puglet..although there are parts of our island that has red, yellow & black sand in the cliffs.
I bet it is beautiful there. Although I dont have the ocean or sea to enjoy, I do have a nice creek that I spend alot of time in when temps allows
I remember making those glass phials of sand on the IOW
New Zealand has black sand beaches too.
Beautiful coloured sand!
Hope to get to NZ perhaps in 2015
That is right, Liz..though they will not let you do that anymore...i think too many people have done that over the decades so not much left..lol
A creek sounds lovely too, Puglet!
I thought it was an organised tourist thing to do! Certainly we didn't just go and grab sand! You're not supposed to do that here either.
Sorry Pugs - yes, a creek does sound lovely.
People here were so they have curtailed that activity.
theres just something calming about water and nature, thats for sure
Love watching water! Especially a really rough sea - providing I'm safe on land!
Oh yes i agree..very calming...like in a forest..which i am not too far from either...thats the beauty of a small island..not far from most things..lol
Funny here how many locals won't drive for 30 mins down the coast!
what kind of wildlife do you have there
haha i have cycled along the esplandes when the sea is angry and found it thrilling yet scary at the same time..but also strangley beautiful to watch too.
It sounds like paridise there Liz and Zoom
That is sad, liz...they are soo missing out.
Nah..winter time here, Puglet is dull and not much to do.
For us it really is paradise, especially as I was lucky enough to take early retirement! I really value every day that we're just able to go out and enjoy where we live.
Now if it was warm nearly all year round instead of a few weeks then i would be more content..lol
But thats just me being greedy..never satisfied.
do you get snow there Zoom
I don't miss winter but now I complain because I've acclimatised here and in winter the temperature might go into single figures (celsius)
I am sure it is beautiful too, where you live, Puglet.
And that's at night.
100 down and time for dinner. This grid is a struggle!
Hugs to you both
When i first moved here in 97..no snow for a few years but recently i would say the last four years we have had snow every year.
Take care, Liz..lovely to talk to you..hugs back.
I like where I live most of the time and I like the four seasons(though temps pass 80 and temps below 0--I dont care for)
bye Liz , enjoy your dinner and hugs back
I agree with the low temps..i do not care for those..in fact anything below 10c for me is not nice..but do not mind high temperatures though.
Thats probably because we do not get high temps often or for long periods of time..not like Mimi...where they get high temps for very long periods..i might change my mind then if that was the case..lol
I bet the snow is pretty though on the sand and the forrest.Gives your area a whole different look, I bet
Oh yes i agree..can look all christmassy ( is that a word?) and it is lovely to walk on..the scrunch noise it makes teehee.
It is when it starts to melt i am in fear of...as i am not keen on breaking my bones on slush & ice.
Do you have any national parks near you to enjoy, Puglet].
the word works for me-lol-------I love it during winter when the snow has covered everything even the fences are white and sparkly
got 2 that are about fifty miles away. Brown County and Whitewater
When we had horses I went to them and others out of our state to trailride
Well if you drive then i am sure they would be nice places to visit..but if you rely on public transport then i suppose it is a bit of a journey.
no public trans here, I drive
Oh wow you had horses!..how come you do not have them anymore?
My knees dont let me ride anymore and I do miss it
How many hands was your horse?
I use to show and ground train, also had some driving horses and even owned a mule or two
Wow you could of run a farm lol
Well the largest I ever owned was a percheon and he was about 18 hands or more
Sorry to hear about your knees..bloody bodies never last as long as our minds do..lol
isnt that the truth! lol
Rather large then...love horses..never owned one..no where to put it..plus i could not aford the upkeep of one at the moment either.
My horse I raised and rode the most was a quarter horse about 16 hands
and the horses name was?
yeah the 18 hand horse was a workhorse I bought as a baby and he was coal black and named Moses and the Qh was named Samson
Nice names..sorry, Puglet, but i have to go now as i am going to the car boot sales now..Lovely to talk to you..take care untill next time ((Puglet))
do you have a place there that you can rent a horse to ride
bye Zoom, was nice chatting with you too, enjoy and hugs to see you off
Afraid not, Puglet..i have no job at the moment either so money is tight..*poof*
good morning my friends
Morning Sprite
hi lyn :) xxx
hmmm - it doesn't like mouli
enable is a silly thing
BBS - checking cake
cake is fine *holds up plate*
repeating the message - sorry you will have to hang around for an hour or so
darn ;)
doesn't like blech either
no. And that is certainly a word.
but I found a dance and a family member of yours as very nice words, lyn
hmmmm
how many votes for making "chog" -- ch4,8 ch5,18 -- a legitimate word?
hi jwr, this version of enable does not even acknowledge 'internet' so all words like email, blog, chog etc are unknown still :)
no, knew that one was the same as email
ah well I think I got the count on the pl version wrong anyway
and hello hello hello
no, I think the count would have been correct. 9 x 2
that's one for sprite, one for lynxxx, and one for whoever is lurking ... as I am about to leave ... Oh thanks for checking my arithmetic sprite
yvw, bye jwr, have a good one
bye jwr
ta, bye not enamored of this grid but will try again later
am finding it fun, but it isn't easy today
back for a little while. massive crash on the track..hello sprite{{hugs}}
hi rose *hugs*
hi Rose
hey lyn
I hope they are all still alive and relatively unhurt, rose
yes, hun. no major injuries to the riders...bikes are another issue.
bikes, I don't care about, lol
darling sprite, how are you? the race and riders are secondary to you, sweetie.
am okayish. Had toast with cheese and ham in the middle of the night and then slept in until noon... which is probably the sugar acting up... so am not too proud of myself right now.
and you, rose?
or did you need the time out, sprite? glad that DH was able to handle the household until you surfaced.
my love is gone for today, canoeing, of all things, it is raining cats and dogs. My girl walked terra just now, lol... we are all late today, it seems.
sprite, knee noticeably swollen today...not sure why.and quite painful. aaaccckkk!! seeing my doctor on tuesday.
darn, rose, am so sorry :( Gentle healing vibes your way, and please be careful with it.
yay for the beautiful daughter...
she rocks. Very dependable lady.
sprite, my darling...one day at a time, sweetie. thank goodness for weekends...lol
I so so wish for your leg to get better, rose. Prayers up all the time.
hi all, fw
hi joso, wtg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and *hugs*
WTG JOSO!!!
tnx, so living the life of riley sprite sleeping until the crack of noon
gm, everyone! whooo hoooo Joso
hi dawg :)
hey dawg
hi Joso - well done
joso, watching bike racing at sepang circuit. nasty crash involving 5 riders...
hiya, Sprite!
too true, joso. Very weird for me.
hi dawg
ecoli
g'day ibd
hi linxxx
any missing limbs?
are you still working Rose? and any news from W'care?
hi GR!
hi lyn
I tried ecoli too. And eboli but that should have been ebola to start with.
argh, tough grid this one
yes it is. Fun though. Found some very nice words.
lyn, not working as of last tuesday when GP spat the dummy and said no more. strange that!! by friday workcover had an appointment for me with their ortho surgeon..in 10 days time.
Any clues for cr8,45 please?
so nice how having to pay for nothing speeds up the sandy gears of W'cover
pity it had to come to that - but Hooray!!!!
cr8, make tree sap tar
thanks joso
pms,cr8, cr + **n, an era + tell fibs, **e + wind direction
my you are fast on such a slim clue
ty joso
TY Joso - don't think I would have found that
rose has to go to the PB, rose has to go to the PB
yeah, joso..he's our man...
ah... that was because it was apparently a verb and there aren't that many verb endings in this grid, joso. Easy to be fast when you know the start and the end of a word.
can't go li4 ither rose, must say 'speaks with forked tounge'
acckkk...in cl4 giving?...*shrug* ...oh, well...anyone for a scotch?
oooohhh I like that, joso. Very poetic.
I could go for a virtual scotch right now. Bring it on, my dear friend
and so much easier to type than fi4 or li4, lol
lol
*hands sprite a virtual scotch* with ice or cola,or water, dear?
with ice, I think. I like my drinks either hot or cold.
hokay, hun
thanks, dear one
and the race is about to begin again. 12 laps only.
enjoy!
sorry the knee is giving you more grief Rose, you'd think with the rest it would give you a break. such an unfair world at times
omg, another 2 down....nothing serious...except for pride..
it may be a very literal knee and obliging every time rose says 'give me a break'
thanx joso...am pretty disappointed myself
you should zap to another station, rose, you are watching bowling right now
roflol...not b****y likely
so these racers are eager to die it seems
joso, tune in, moto2...it's so exciting...in a ghoulish way
i think all the spectators are watching in proxy
don't let sprite visit until you are better, she may think baby janing you is the height of humor
yeah... that is one of the things I don't like about motor races
lolol, joso...sprite, you see that?
I need to look up baby janing, lol, before I can tell if I am insulted or not
ah, a movie scene, where one lady pushes the wheelchair lady down the stairs, was a joke refering to your joke
omg...DH develops an accent every time he says one of these names....it gives me the giggles.
joso, i am not in a wheelchair.....yet...lolol
whatever happened to baby jane, a ghastly movie thought to be a classic, like virginia woolf
ah, indeed :D Lol joso....
I would be very good to rose, I promise. But no risk, cause I can't afford a ticket ;)
people picking on cripples, not that I would ever do such a thing, like cautioning against cartwheels or anything.
no, not you, joso, never you
see my wings, let me polish up the halo
omg...what is it about the half naked body of the male of the species??? yum!!!!
people wearing halos make me wanna throw a tennis ball through the loop.
which half, left or right?
stop drooling, rose! Jeezz girl, I have to wipe of my entire keyboard!
TOP!~!!!!
I think rose is the ghoul here. There they are, dragging a biker out of the crash, carefully peeling of his clothes to see the injuries and there goes rose, all hot and bothered at seeing his torso.
mind you...if it was the bottom....i would be totally absent
mind you...if it was the bottom....i would be totally absent
mind you...if it was the bottom....i would be totally absent
panting so hard she pushes on the throttle... errrr... enter key
LOLOL, sprite...it would have to be DH's
*grin*
oh, yeah...no squirrels needed....
Could I get a clue for cr8, please?
joso has a good one, Marc... to make tree sap tar
cr8 making tree sap tar
see?
marc, cr + era + untruths , anagram
um....what joso said...lolol
Thanks granny but don't get the era part or the anagram part
cr8, french black white mix ****le + misspelled untruths ****
got it thanks granny and joso
cr + **n, era + **e down, not stand up + wind direction, not north west
ahhh, good for you marc
ty, joso
and GR
stats for the O top row first column?
oc6 family of lynx
ty, sprite
yvw
oc5-14, eye like windows or dome openings
oops, thats a low o start
that one is from the bottom, I think, joso
or6-24
other is or6, or + blind creature who burrows under ground, minus last vowel + 5th vowel
lol
ty, joso.
again ty, GR
okay, DH is on his way to bed...guess i had better join him. xoxox to all. see you at the flip.
sleep well, rose. I hope your knee will be better tomorrow. *hugs*
sweet sleeps, GR
I'm going to push off too, g'nite rose, any last clues?
bye joso, I am ok, still need too many to ask. *hugs*
bye, joso. hagd!
cl6, please?
CL + 2 vowels + not you

yvw. Am struggling with the Cs as well here
new word learned for today: fi7/44 - Of or pertaining to the color of a dead or faded leaf: dull brown or yellowish brown.
bbl to finish, 18 remaining. must get ready for work. hagd everyone!
have a good day, dawg!
hi guys, hope everyone is having a good day
hi sandy, am ok here, and you?
I am good, we had a lovely sunny day here and went kayaking on our dam
We went to the neighbours farm last nite for dinner and went marroning in her dam and had some marron for dinner
what's a marron
a fish
hi hurs :)
is it a white fish
sounds like a lovely day, sandy
a marron is a west australian fresh water crayfish which is found here and it is sooo good
not a fish
see NOT a fish, :P sprite
as good as any lobster you will find anywhere
lolllllll see how little I know of waterspecies...
for the public the marron season is only open for two days and you would need a marroning licence. However on private property you can catch them anytime
if atalante were here ...
indeed. I miss her lots
two days? that is a very short season
huge fines exist for people who try to catch them out of season and if you catch them on a farm (like we did) you never take them off the property but eat them there
they are very sort after and a great delicacy in the restaurants down here who buy them from marron farms
Thanks for the cr 8/45 clues, but just not finding it - any more clues please
what has happened to atalante - i havent been on for a long time
she's just got busy with work and doesn't play anymore
ata got divorced, got a wonderful job, moved and got way too busy to babble. She is on very rarely now and doesn't chat much if she is.
marine biology work
oh ... i thought something bad...she will be back, it is her fate (as it is mine
i dunno lots of people have disappeared really
lola, anj, smeltzdog...
I think they come back, I joined long ago and even if i have busy times, I always come back

lol sandy
when two professors apply for a grant together, wouldn't you say they cobeg?
I would
seems like a better word than ceorl, anyway
yeah, and ceorl is a phantom today
that is why i chose it for my contrast
ho bs
nice :)
nono just called me a ho and accused me of spouting bs
lol hursh! Hi Nanette, nice entree!
Hi all :)
hiya Liz :) How are you today?
Good thanks sprite - how's it going with you?
Never seen ceorl!! I'll try to remember that one!
am ok, taking it easy today, therapy day tomorrow
I'm sure you'll feel good after it, even though it's tough at the time.
blech isn't a word?
a ceorl is a freeman of the lowest class in Anglo-Saxon England. Another babblet :)
Nor is mouli
I think so too, Liz.
yes hursh, of course it is. But enable doesn't know it.
I missed that word in my history lessons!
bs: Bank of Slovenia; Barbra Streisand; Bart Simpson ...
blood sugar too. Hi o-o, glad to see you.
pretty icon.
A blech (from the German by way of Yiddish word for tin or sheet metal) is a metal sheet used by many observant Jews to cover stovetop burners (and for some, the cooker's knobs and dials) on Shabbat (the Jewish Sabbath), as part of the precautions taken to avoid violating the halachic prohibition against cooking on the Sabbath.
oh. i just meant blech. like, cooked cabbage, blech.
Liz, I have learned so much from the babblets. Not necessarily useful things, but still fun to know
yeah, my association was also blech - yuck.
Both descriptions are good. Haven't come across o-o's description since I left London.
may I beg a clue for the re6/27? Can't seem to find it and trust me, I have tried :)
Surprise! I don't have it!

Good luck tomorrow - if I don't see you before!

Didn't understand it then! Do now. lol!
Bye, enjoy the weekend
it's not being dumb
it's just an american commercial

Figured that but only after I found the word.
ah ok, never saw it. *hugs* and till tomorrow, maybe.
Enjoy the rest of your day sprite. Hugs

what are the stats for the first O please?
it is a copy of the old tangleword - a lot of people here used to play tangleword- it is the same principal as this but against the clock and you get rated - my rating is in the cellar, I think i am the worst player there
lol sandy

Okay, I have a bone to pick. I came on earlier to innocently babble a bit. And someone in this group talked about another game, Serpentine. Wee that just stole hours from my life. Who ever mentioned it will have to pay for my addiction therapy!
Now back to a more reasonable game, Babble.
yes, babble of course is non- addictive. i have quit many times:))
At least it ends for awhile. That stupid Serpentine just keeps going. I thought I may have to result to adult diapers
lol, just like the casinos.depends and food in paste form and every 24 hours they come by to see if you are still acting on your own free will and are not having an embolism
lol
or three of you tag team a machine in 8 hours shifts
There is a reason I don't gamble and you just reminded me.
not for me though
we have two casinos maybe 3.casino Niagra, casino rama and that is 2 too many
Speaking of addictions. Whoever came up with sober-October should be shot! The 1st couple of weeks is like sure I don't need a cocktail in the evening...and then it's the weekend and you start avoiding people and places because you are not strong enough to be in that situation. Next thing you know, you're just on the puter all the time because it's your only friend left. Do you think I'm being over dramatic?
i think there may be one in windsor but i am not sure
never heard of sober october so to be honest it has not bothered me in the slightest.haad my nightly tipple last night as always
how can you have octoberfest in sober october?
there are many benifits of not having cabe tv programming and missing made up events like sober october is just one of them
It's a silly test of will power. They (whoever they are) say your liver completely rejuvenates in 30 days. Then you can punish it again.
bah, time enough to test myself when the cabinet is bare
It came from my children not tv
maybe it an alcoholism test?
i only buy so much in a month and when it is gone,it is gone till next month
cu 5/18 plz
i am a drunk, mixi, alcoholics go to meeting and everyone in town takes a turn
Personally, I think "going along with the crowd" is something that should only be observed by lemmings....and we know what happens to them!
:)
I like your attitude! I discovered a wonderful thing called Green Spot when I was in Ireland. 6 bottles are calling my name.
yup,off the cliff with you!
I only have about one drink a month, except when visiting my sister.
i used to drink too much, now i have slowed down and only drink to excess
on bright side i gave upthe lung darts in 2002
I like being independent and thinking for myself. I try not to be judgmental but there is a t-shirt I saw that I really like..it says "If you don't like my opinion of you...you can always change." Hmmm....
I just gave those friends up 5 months ago.
they are like belly buttons, everyone has one:)
Mimi, that's Great.
cu + students at some schools eat in *un**rooms
Phone call---bbl
ty o-o
ty o-o
ty o-o
epic phone call;) hate the telephone myself.i use it only to transmit important info as fast as possible and then get off the thing.think it stems from the late 60,s when my da used to time our call to gramma in the UK with a stop watch
ty oo
think the usage of the trans atlantic cable to the UK used to be $1.65 a min and that was about an hours wages then lol
crossy, I also dislike the phone. I find it intrusive. People don't understand when I don't feel I need to answer it. To me it's an option.
i love the smart phones.they take not only messages but voice mail.i turn it on at the end of the day, edit it all and decide who i wish to call back
I don't have a machine. I can check caller id if I think of it.
like having your own personal secretary who gaurds your privacy with her life;)
as i remember the 7 second delay on the cable used to drive my da crzy" i am paing over a dollar a minutes so you kids can listen to the hum of a open line!" lol
hmmm, more than 7 second delay in chog.
The C's are killer...
Killer C's...more deadly than killer bees.
Hey, Molly.
Hi Bea
I agree Molly
2 c's left.
I'm finding this a not too friendly grid.
fireworks. Monkeys worked very hard today.
Congrats, mixi.
hey everyone :)
hello?

I am.

roil
oops, hey how are you?
fine, you?
Doing well, taking a break, wasting some tome
yeah... i'm procrastinating haha
dumb = when you've already monkeyed a word and you don't realized it and you're still trying to monkey it
also typing realized when you mean realize
been there, done that, lol....hello all...
How about when someone asks for a hint for the kr5 and you look, and look and look, only to find out, there is no kr5.
well, that's their fault, not yours
they did ought to be more careful.
True, but I have learned not to fall for those hint requests. : )
well done you. if you're still listless, you are wide open to them. so i can't learn.
Another good reason to stay out of chat until I'm done.
i admire your self-control
there's a kr 5 ?
:D
It's not really self-control. I like to find words on my own. And chat can be a non-stop stream of hints.
i need... the co6/27 before jointly record a journal entry
and one of the last co6/24's, i have the one that is a food thing like raspberry co6/24
co + first three of a brain altering operation + vowel
ty
my brain-altering days are over :D
The other co6 ends in a double vowel
ah i see, thanks
done
Never heard of the raspberry word. Where I come from we call that a puree.
it's a french cooking word
tomato too
i think chefs feel that the more words they have to describe their food so that you don't know what you are eating, the more you will find it delicious.
Yes, but as you well know, I do not do fancy pants cooking.
i don't DO it, i just watch it on tv
*buy fancy pants for Molly*
and then i make vegetable soup
I make swordfish with a yellow tomato/saffron co 6
without fancy pants :D
Probably pants-less
sometimes :D
unless I"m working with hot oil
At 50$ an ounce, saffron is not on my spice rack.
i'm just mad about saffron...
I have friends bring it back from Spain..it's much cheaper
*Mental note: Make friends with someone who travels to Spain*
down to thirty..it's much tougher now
They call me Mellow Yellow...
where is Donovan these days?
*heads to list... i'm stuck
The Wikipedia says he was inducted into the Rock and roll hall of fame last year.
Still mellow and still yellow

Ahh thank you, Hego..so he must be on the mend by now then..that is good news.

Right...time for iron sudoku..before my eyes totaly droop to sleep...hapy babbling everyone...byee!
you never get the whole picture going in and out of chat.
night Zooz
Night zooz, tc
They thought it was pneumonia at first, then it turned out to be salmonella. Either way, it's tough on a guy his age.
trying to figure out how you mistake salmonella for pneumonia????
ty for the update
It's kind of a long story but the initial tests came back with a questionable lung x-ray.
still kind of strange.
glad they got him diagnosed.
Well, I don't know. High fever and questionable lung x-ray and over 80 led to "could be pneumonia". Further tests revealed the salmonella. I guess it's all in who is doing the diagnosing.
right
Does salmonella show up in blood tests?
I don't think so Bea.
You can culture it from stool.
Finally through the crappy C's!
not me. lol
Jusat a few left.
Hello all! Actually, it was a double whammy with my Dad. Pneumonia & salmonella. Luckily both conditions are responding to antibiotics, but the whole episode has taken a great toll on him. I'm very grateful for you concern. :-)
Good afternoon/evening!
Oh Soodle! I am so glad to hear he is getting better!!!!! {{hugs}}
Sheesh..... Sorry. I didn't factor the time difference. My bad.
Pneumonia is tough on the elders.
((((Car)))). Thanks Hun. It's been a difficult week!
Sure is, Molls.
HI Molly!
Hi Car
Apparently, clinically, salmonella is akin to typhoid fever! Who knew?
Soodle, glad your dad is improving, hope you and all the family are holding up x
Thank you chrissie. :-)
Surprisingly, finished! Bless you Lickety :)
Amen!!!!
anyone have the cr 8?

Enable, the dictionary that babble uses does not accept a lot of words
yeah it's silly
fi5/20 pls
it also needs to be updated with the word blog
I was just thinking that. it is way out of date
sorry, i can't get the fi5 either
I don't even see it on morewords
huh?
fi + be***....to make rude noises out of your mouth, esp. after eating....
fi word means to steal something, i think....
tyty pen
oh :( i didn't understand that clue
yw...
The Enable word list has not been updated since 2000. And apparently there are no plans to do so. Why it is still the go to word list for word games is beyond me.
yeah, that's weird
wow that is a long time, Molls
though, blogs did exist in 2000
at least the early version of blogging
ok....fi + tall letter + we call communication here the **og....
i suck at getting these clues
blog is a contraction (technically) a combination of web and log. I will guess that is why Enable doesn't recognize it.
it's okay, you can give up on giving me a clue for that one
I don't think she know **og, pen
well yeah, but it's become its own word now
yeah, i don't
subsitute...**at for **og....talking like this
haha got it
**og? really? never heard of that word
yay for Rows
fi5 rhymes with a zi word that means zero
good!
sounds weird
thank you :)
yw
I have no idea where **og came from, since this spot is called the chat box. Seems it would be a chox.
one of the babblers made it up but I do not remember who
I think it comes from that little icon to the right up here where it says "view entire chat log" maybe??
oh, weird
haha
well when people pontificate, it becomes a cross between chat and a blog... ;o)
Apparently a lot of things were made up here. Monkeys, babblets, choclits.
hi all!
hi mag
true, Molls
Oh MagMom, you are so observant. I never notices that. : )
hi magmom
Or noticed it.
I occasionally use it to go back and look for clues if I'm getting desperate. LOL
hey peri and rows and Molly and pen!
haha
hey
If you haven't tried the vanilla tootsie rolls they've got out for Halloween, you should. Yum!
ooh
i should ask someone to send me a care package of Halloween candy
bl
They roll out all the flavored ones at Halloween. Cherry, Orange, Lime, Lemon and Vanilla.
ugh i want them!
I had to hide them from myself.
hello everyone - just back from golf and diving in :)
Hi Nan!
Just checked on my meatloaf. Smelling delish.
you could always fi 5/20 some candy, rows
Mmm, meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Comfort food.
Yep Molly. Cool and overcast today. Perfect for comfort food.
blog isn't a word?
we were talking about this before, nan, apparently it wasn't a word in 2000, when Enable was last updated
apparently it wasn't in 2000...
My kids (who are usually eat on the fly types) were over for dinner last night. I filled them up with lasagna, salad, garlic bread and coconut cream pie for dessert. They were happy campers.
Good evening to my fellow babblers! How is everyone doing
By the way, congratulations to all the finishers! Way to go!
Hi Min
Yum Molly! Sounds fabulous.

Keep on Loving You was the hit. lol
And Can't Fight This Feeling was pretty big too, if you like that kind of stuff.
They also had another song called "Heard it From a Friend"
I aw them in concert a few years ago since I was too young to see them in the early 80's. :)
*feels old now*

I think all women need a few pervs to wave at them.. just so they can spot the nice guys
for everyone's laughing enjoyment I changed my icon to a big hair pic of me in the 80's
You think THAT is big hair?
OMG
you look like you're sixteen

it is a brutal grid today
slow slow going - each word is a struggle
this one was really hard for me to finish
Good Evening Everyone. How are you all this evening
HI nef
I'm pondering not finishing. I keep getting sidetracked
Ugh, I had forgotten how bad Carrie Underwood's Sunday Night Football song was
hi nef.. have to run out to the store to get STUFF.
I don't understand the fascination with Carrie Underwood.. she's not incredibly talented
hi nef
Agree
well, it at least sounds like you know who she is; I know she's a singer but that's it.
Another American Idol product, Nef
I have to say I only like two american idols contestants in the whole sheebang
Carrie's interview on Oprah was pretty vacant
okay. I've seen just 1 or 2 of those wasnt interested after that
good for you nef
bbiab
could someone give me the stats or a clue for that lone I in the 4th column? Please
ig4
thanks, Molly

does how well a person feels during chemo have any relation to how effective it is? i.e., if the patient breezed through it does that mean it is not doing its job?
co6, co + vowel + best 10 ***t
I don't think so, TO -- different chemicals have different side effects for different people.
No, TO, from what I know and have seen, there isn't much correlation at all.
finally, ty, Penq and joso

Are you worrying that the chemo isn't working?

ce sha*** (Hebrew, peace)
ty
it was sunny, and relatively warm but with that bite to the edge of the sunlight that heralds cooler weather on the horizon.
Forecasters are talking sunshine all week, but I have my doubts.
How is it for you today, LBD?
go magmom go!!!!
okay. I think it's probably like stid said: we all react differently to different chemicals/drugs. Whether it's side effects or just the specific way the persons' body metabolizes the drug; is dependent on how it affects that individual.
okay, help for the U word please?
it was a definite fall day. sun did shine and was "warm" but the clouds rolled in and the wind was a bit chilly.
and then the Lone i in....

hi Min
I love seeing the trees changing color. some are so vibrant!
hi min
help with last CO 6/24 please
the colors here were gorgeous yesterday, then it rained. They were still nice today but much better yesterday.
we have some very pretty sweetgum blooming right now. Not native to the area, but a planting craze about 15 years ago means we now get those colors even when it's a "rusty-weather" year as this is. (that's what I call the years that the rain forces our bigleaf maple to move from green to brown without the gorgeous yellow they can carry)
Hi Nef and lbdawger! You must've arrived during my Babble break. I came back to get my last two words. Tough puzzle
