cooeee, from me
Hugs and Hi Rose--has everyone left alread
{{hugs}} to my miz pugs. how are you and the sister doing?
dear, relatively easy grid....words just flow.
soon as I get rid of my headache--I will be fine and she is too----and you?
okay, trying to come down off the strong pain meds. successful thus far. have had only 2, instead of 4 by this time of the day. ugh, about your headache. i wish i could work out what causes it.
sleep is the only thing I know
ruru, you okay, mate? saw your run in with o-o. i do wish people would stop hurting each other.
so did it cool down as you had hope Rose
pugs, * delicate question coming* do you snore, that you are aware of? don't answer if here if you don't want to. email me instead.
not often Rose, but Ive been told I do at times
yes, pugs. thank goodness!!! only got to 85F today, humid but bearable.
Iam very quick to fall asleep though. When my aunt was alive and I stayed overnight with her, she said she had never seen someone fall asleep as quick as I did
because to me, it sounds like a hypoxia headache. when you snore, your breathing is not right, and you don't pull enough oxygen in. and that can cause an headache.
aha...typical of someone with a case of sleep apnoea. i was the same. then i had sleep studies done which proved i had severe sleep apnoea.
when don and i were first married he was astounded. i would fall asleep mid-sentence. it was very frustrating and worrying for him.
I hate to tell this, but I have fell asleep in the middle of my praying---I dont even feel sleepy but I will wake in a hour or 2
Hi again. I fell asleep at my keyboard and am heading to bed; but I bet I fall asleep faster than you pugs
so what can I do about it
okay, hun. you need a sleep study done. can you afford it? is it available on the public health system?
Hi nef -lol--night
lolol, nef. xoxox, and i hope you sleep well.
I dont know Rose. Have not heard about that around here
I agree with granny, get a sleep study. (My ability to fall asleep is due to narcolepsy, not sleep apnea)
pugs, talk to your GP about it. he/she will know what to do.
eek, nef. now that's scary, hun
Okay--but right now I dont have one
and this will stop the headaches
no, it isn't scary, granny. I've been on meds (Ritalin)since first diagnosed when I was 21.
pugs, my DH has sleep apnea. There are something like 60-70 different reasons for excessive sleepiness; you do need to find out why you have a problem
as granny said, if you have some types of sleep hypoxia, you can get bad headaches
pugs, the sleep study will show if you are having breathing problems while you sleep. then doctor will know what to do. you actually need a referral to an ENT specialist.
okay--when I can I will check into it
thanx nef, for backing what i have said. i found out that my sleep apnoea is from the brain, not obstructive.
thanks guys
i became suspicious when i had that feeling i was falling, even when i was awake. now that was scary.
is there a reason you don't have a primary doc right now, pugs? If you don't have one, and you're having this headache problem; find a good internal med. doc as your primary doc.
pugs, please forgive me if i nag you. it is so important.
I have no money for one or insurance for two
your sleep apnea made you feel like you were falling, granny? Wow!
which is why i asked if you had access to a public system of so4 sort
I know Rose--and you dont bother me at all
lol, nef, i would stop breathing when i was awake.
Iam not old enough Rose
Pugs, do you live in a state that has the Affordable Care Act (aka "obama care)?
I live in Indiana, Nef
over to you, nef. i don't understand the american healthcare system.
so, they aren't one of the states that refused it, are they?
If I get care right now, they will take my home
no I dont think so Nef
HUH??
to get state care you have to sign over what you own
nef, get puglet's email addy, will you please, hun. i can't help her with this. maybe you can.
You can go online and fill out the forms and see what they'd charge you. You don't necessary have to sign up
and then pugs you tell me...promise?
the Affordable Care Act is not medical assistance, pugs; check it out.
where online do I go? Heres my email--nncy96@copper.net
Excuse me.....Pug, has something drastically changed recently? Because you could get Medicaid but you could own one home, have one car and have not over $4,000.00 in the bank. Please look into it.
okay Nef
nice, peach. everyone, please pitch in. this is so necessary.
Peach Iam not on state help
Hi all - just wanted to say hi - can't contribute to this conversation but hope you can sort something out, pugs.
I was a few years ago but once I paid off my place they dropped me saying I own too much
i just cannot bear that dear puglet has to wake up with an headache everyday. it just is not on!!
Pugs, my real name is Jenny; I'll send you info; but probably tomorrow since I need sleep
Hi Liz
xoxox liz
okay Nef, thank you
Pug, I know of people who milk the system and get away with it. But it is for people who really need it.
Also unhappy about all the headaches pugs gets.
thanx nef. you are a real sweetheart.
Once the MD get ahold of me they may not let me go--lol
Darn, hit the enter key.I haven't heard about any states that don't have Medicaid. This is something you and your sister need right now. You won't lose your home, honey. I don't know who you would talk with in Indiana, perhaps call a doctor's office and ask how to go about it.
srry, I gott to go to bed now.
My sister does have it, Peach
Sleep well Nef
night Nef, and thanks for the help
Oh, pug, there is something called SSI that is money you may be eligible for (and your sister). Please check into it.
sleep well nef. and thanx
Don't want to interrupt the conversation and please feel free to carry on, but just wanted to check that all your family is safe, Rose.
Peach, that is what my sister is on--ssi and hubby has SS and medicare--but I cant get either yet
Peach, that is what my sister is on--ssi and hubby has SS and medicare--but I cant get either yet
My bh and I did get food stamps and he got medical help but once I paid off my place they dropped the food, and part of his medical help
soni
Here Rose if you have life insurance or own property you have to sign it over to the state
sorry
my sister cant have life insurance to be bury with, so I had to buy it and put it in my name so I can take care of that.
Oh, pug, I just wish there was some way I could help you.
sorry Peach, I didnt even say hi to you
That's ok, pug.
thanks Peach--I just got a few more years then I will be able to draw SS for myself
In the meanwhile puglet, consider 2 things: 1 physical allergy to something in your bedroom? allergy doesn't have to mean just itches and spots can manifest itself as headache or migraine. and 2: maybe you just are not comfy and need a different bed, or at least a new mattress?
for goodness sake!! pugs!!
heyya scouser!! how are you, hun?
hello grannyrose - am always up for looking at the environment instead of rushing to the medicine cabinet!
Hi Scouser, thanks for the help. I just got a new bed last summer. I have tried sleeping in my lazyboy chair and theres no different. If I sleep over three hours I wake with these darn headaches
which is why i am going the sleep disturbance route. maybe pugs needs a CPAP machine.
I think Nef will be able to advise you as to whom you should contact.....there's got to be an anser here.
answer.
Puglet - maybe like me you don't need as much sleep as others. For last 30 years I only sleep 4 to 5 hours at night and catnap sometimes in the evening. True, it is a benefit of being generally solo !
ta peach...i agree...there has to be an answer.
I dont feel tired nor sleepy, I just dont sleep much
and neither did i pugs. but could fall asleep at the drop of a hat.
but I do hate these headaches. Between the headaches and my hernia--thats really my only heath issues
I just wish I could go to sleep before dawn. LOL
and we are gonna get them fixed, dear.
I dont do that Rose. Its only when I sit to relax and wham before I know it Iam out
there was interesting programme on radio the other day about how much sleep people need - especially teenagers evidently need lots more, and elderly far less, than the magic average of 8 hours. The trouble does come when you share sleep-space with someone who has opposite requirement to your own.
then we would miss you Peach :)
Well, hell, why don't we contact our President? Don't know why I didn't think of that before.
oh, dear, peach. my first very unchristian reaction was...maybe you are part vampire...but you also must have a solution somewhere, dear
LOLOLOL! Good one, rose.
anyhow fireworks here. byee all
Congrats, scouser!!!!
WTG SCOUSER!!!
Congrats scouser
congrats Scouser and night and thanks again
bye now puglet. Keep calm.
Rose, did you see the cartoon I sent you yesterday
Peach, are you getting nasty weather again? We are
yes, dear. it gave such a laugh.
I could see you saying something like that--lol
oh, dear, pugs. have i given the wrong impression? lol
or is my sense of hu5 sadly lacking...that i can laugh at it...
I was trying to find something funny to send Sprite cause shes got the flu and was down a little and I ran across that. No but remember awhile back you were talking about canes and crutches
Pug, we are having a cold front now, windy but no rain in the forcast.
us too peach--only snow and wind and dropped temps through all next week
Bundle up, pugs.
I know--of course its going to below 0 next week when hubby goes to do time. That puts me having to take care of his outdoor animals :(
brb--coffee
Any neighbors that might be able to help you with the animals?
ugh, pugs...of course. everything the worm does is so inconsiderate.
don's car is packed to the rafters...lol...lots of boxes for the charity shop on monday. he is going to ask the shop about their truck for collecting furniture at the same time.
hi all
helloo sir joso. your harem awaits you...lol
packed to the rafters that was a good show
yes, joso. how are you, mate?
HI Sir Joso----how are you
ah the harem is ready, well time's a wasting, lets get nerkid
lol, you ot your sunglasses on??
*got*
No Peach....its no big job but just having to go out into the freezing cold
good Rose--getting it close to ending that mess
we are soooo close..
I'm well, sorry pug is still stuck with the headaches, hope rose is still mending well, and sorry peach still can't sleep
nice response, joso. well done, mate.
a suck up from way back
can you scoot all the furniture into the middle Rose and then you can wash down the walls as you want
lololol
Thanks much, joso.
peach, are you fit enough to exercise?
pugs, once the furniture has gone, the curtains come down for washing/dry cleaning. then we move the furniture we want to keep into the 'dressing room' move our bedroom furniture in and move everything else into our new 'bedroom'. move the other furniture into our new loungeroom.
I keep seeing r4 and its making me want a huge, frosted mug of r4beer!
No, joso. I have post-polio syndrome. Just trying to keep moving.
oh, dear, pugs
I hope that is the royal we I hear moving all that furniture rose
who is going to move all that stuff? Surely not you! :(
pity, I find excess exercise helps me sleep best.
lolol, joso...am gonna call in a lot of IOU's from sons.
I can do it, send me a plane ticket
If Joso gets one I want one too--I can help
You want to go too Peach?
party time in oz
oh yeah why not!
Wish I could.
lol....let me know how much!!!! i am an heiress, don't forget.
IOU's is that like 'help or the baby pix go up on the net'
we will help you Peach, wont we Joso
lol, exactly joso....have helped them out on many an occasion.
how many guess rooms do you have Rose
come to think of it....both times on their weddings...
absolutely, pushing a gurney can be fun, in the right conditions you can get quite some speed out of them
strap in peach
Well I hope they come through for you Rose
will have two...but you will have to fight over them...lol...looking forward to the bun fight.
Iam not to proud to bunk on the floor
pugs, the sister will have to come with you...so...peach, how many in your party?
pillow fight with the harem, sounds like fun
LOLOL, joso
Peeps, I need to do some emailing and other odds and ends.....Blessings all.
night Peach
xoxox peach. later my dear
g'night peach
have you guys notice that there seems to be alot of grumpiness on here for the last week? Recon its due to the winter months or what?
hadn't noticed, but spending less time on-line than I used to
are you still doing your gaming thing Joso
pugs, staying away from the antagonists, dear. maybe it's stir craziness..due to them being confined indoors?
thats what Iam thinking too
when I can pug, about eve3ry other week
joso, very important for you to stay in touch with your gaming
dinner has arrived. bbl
Is this just all guys that do that
chicken? enjoy and see you in a bit
might not be important, but important to me, and as I can be a self centered SOB it 'll keep happening
it is Joso , if its important to you
what game are you into now
lots of games, settlers of catan is the last one i played
I wish they had something like that here. It would be nice to get out for a game day
it's just visiting friends who like games
buy a copy of, settlers of catan, read the rules, ask a few friends over
do you guys bet money on your games too
nope, just play for joy
I just might fix up a game night this summer when we have friends for the week ends down
in the winter months no one moves about that much
is there just two words with the x in it
another 3, pugs, start with he. he6, 7 6
joso, what pugs said, mate. game on !!!
okay Rose, thanks
Hello everyone :-)
have had a yummy dinner of lasagne and salad...
GOOD MORNING, ZOOZ!!!!!
ZOOM! you were on my mind this morning! Havent seen you in a while---oh and HI
ooh i love lasagne..a bit heavy but very yummy and filling.
did you make it Rose
ditto, zooz...and lots of parmesan...
Aww thanks, Puglet, hope the thoughts were of kindness..lol
lol, pugs...no hun. will do so once i have a functioning kitchen.
Oh yes, Rose, it has to be fresh parmesan cheese..not keen on the packet stuff...smells like sick haha
of course! Just was wondering what had happen to you is all---Iam a worry wart I guess--lol
yup, zooz. exactly, mate
I have been here..just babbling on and off through out the day & night.
off to get meds ready...brb
I was even on here the other day/morning i think i finished about 03:20am on the 400+ sized grid lol
ahh, guess our ships have just passed each others
okay Rose
hahah yes i lve right next to the sea...so ship is rather apt..lol
so how are things with you Zoom
any luck on finding you a computer
Yep i am feeling very good...helping sister pack boxes for when she moves...helping parents as usual..playing babble..life is ok at the moment.
Is she moving closer to you? That great Zoom!
No not yet, Pugs, still looking...i am too fussy thats my problem..i kep looking at eack laptop and thinking..that one is better but cheaper..why? then oh this one looks really good but too expensive..lol
She is moving more central to my parents and myself yes, Pugs, So good all round..thanks for asking :-)
Nad how are things going with you?
how..not nad??
well it is a important investment. When the right one comes along your gut will tell you
Will you get to see the kids more with her moving? Things okay with me
I see her children mostly on a week-end as they have school. Plus they are getting their own friends now and are busy going to them..so all is good..lol
I know you really enjoy them. Do they ever spend the night with you
I am glad to hear things are ok with you, Puglet, hope it continues too :-)
thanks Zoom
No i do not have room here for overnight stays..and too be honest i would not want that either..i love the children don't get me wrong..i kind of like the hello lets play for a while..now bugger off and leave me in peace..lol
and welcome to the world of aunties and uncles, zooz.
LOL---Zoom, I understand
We do play for many hours when i do see them though..and they have a great time..and are very pleased to see me as i of them..but i would not want long stay overs i could not handle that any more.
you are sounding like a old man Zoom
It is wonderful, Rose, I love it..just could not handle being a full time parent anymore..i get the best of the children now..we have fun i get to hear all their stories of adventure..but none of the moaning..the parents get that..lol
how old are you nephews and nieces, zooz?
I feel like an old man, Pugs, But i am happy with that..lol
did you get all doped up Rose--lol
I think i have had a lot of badness over some years and have taken its toll..but onwards and upwards :-)
10 & 7 Rose..and full of beans
Iam glad things are better for you now Zoom and stays that way too
as a granny to a so4-to-be 6 year old, and a so4-to-be 4 year old and a 6 month old.
kind of like jumping beans, Zoom? lol
not yet, pugs, but the meds are ready to be taken in about 30 minutes.
all your grandbabies are very young Rose
ugh, zooz...they can be so ti4 consuming at that age...hugs mate.
Yes pugs hahah they are full of the zest of life.
well iam a young granny, pugs. lolol
I think we are all young at heart...it is our bodies that are getting older.
sorry Rose, I forgot
with you, zooz. my own mum was only 48 when i made her a grandmother. lol
My mother had surgery the other day..and has been in bed for the last few days being sick and the other end too...because of the anesetic (sp)
its fun getting down to play cars in the dirt but when its time to get up----bones pop and cracks
ahh sorry to hear that Zoom--so you been nursing her then
poor zooz's mum. my heart goes out to her, mate. there is nothing worse than post-op nausea and vomiting. bellieve me. i have been there.
Yes been trying to help bhut very hard when they don't want anything.
I am guessing GR..wasn't studying math in high school and got diverted into something else.
oh I bet they like it Zoom. They just dont want to feel a burden to you
Hello, Ruru :-)
zooz, just give her lots of tlc...she will come out of it, mate.
xoxox, ruru
I know they appreciate me helping..but it is hard when you do ot know how to help with sickness..lol
and theres Ruru! Hi Ru--things still safe there
Probably still involved counting though
good morning all!
Yes i agree, Rose, give it a couple more days iand i think she will be oki.
Just being there means as much as anything Zoom--I bet
Hello, Sprite :-)
zooz, there is nothing YOU can do for the sickness. just provide your love and offer to help...that is all your parents need.
Oh hugs and Hi Sprite! feeling any better
xoxox sprite
ugh, sprite, you have the 'flu? yuck!!!
How is Sprite today?
hi zooz, sorry to hear about your mum. *hugs* Just what the rest said, be there for her and stand fast, and she will be better soon.
Ru are you nipping the bottle? Cause I do not understand what you are talking about
hi pugs and rose and ruru *hugs* I am fine. Just a rotten flu bug.
then you are not fine Sprite!
* hands sprite a tissue * there, there, dearest, grannyrose is here for you.
I FEEL rotten, lol. I AM fine. Nothing serious over here.
thats more truthful Sprite--lol---------I feel for you and hope it passes quickly
Thanks everyone..i am sure she will be well again soon..Sorry to hear about your nasty flu, Sprite, soothing hugs to you to try and make you feel slighty better and a nice warm cup of hot chocolate (low cal one) for you too.
thanks darlings :) And how are you all today?
Iam fine and dandy now
sprite, have managed to halve the strong pain meds. so doing okay.
I am feeling good thanks for asking :-)
oh that sounds very good, pug! Yay for you.
glad to hear it, zooz! *hugs*
rose, WOW! Good for you! That is a very good sign.
Silly question here...does having the flu play havoc with your diabetes?
and Sprite, shes almost done with MIL's stuff too!
totally, zooz. Not silly at all. It goes up and down like a yoyo.
It can Zoom
better times ahead for you, rose!
zooz, no such thing as a silly question, mate
I think Ruru has fallen asleep..lol
you also have to watch what kind of meds you take from over the counter for diabetics too--or I do on sister
lol
indeed, pug. I don't take anything except paracetamol for the pain and fever.
I dont know what he was talking about on the counting thing, do you Rose cause it was tented towards you
I hate paracetamol..the tablets are way too big.
usually don't have trouble with pills. My painkillers and sugar meds are twice as big. But yesterday one paracetamol stuck in my throat. That was not funny, blech.
Have you had any flooding where you are, Sprite? been widespread over here.
no, so far so good, zooz. Are you ok?
I seen on the news yesterday that someone is coming out with a eye contact for diabetics to wear that will tell the sugar levels without using needles or machion. Wont that be something! I dont know when it will be available but it sure will beat all those pricks with the needle
Yes i hate that too, zsprite then you have to get a bit of bread or something..chew on it and swallow and hope it takes the tablet down with it..lol
wow, indeed pug, and what a smart idea.
Yes i am ok..a few houses near me have flooded..but i am slightly higher up.
Oh that was on our news too, Puglet!
seem like the sugar will be tested through the tears some how
lol yes zooz, that is what my husband said too. He has trouble swallowing pills as well. He was kinda teasing me... that finally I knew what it was like to have trouble swallowing. And I said he should count himself lucky I usually didn't :)
makes sense, pug, also a body fluid.
I know my sister would love that!
pugs, he was in the middle of an altercation with another babbler.
oh, Rose--I didnt mean to pry but I didnt know what he was talking about and felt bad no one answered him
I normally gag when i try and take tablets now..due to when i tried to OD a few years back...but i can take smaller tablets now..just not those brick sized paracetemols..lol
Oh i did not know that either, Rose, oops
Zoom, I hope you dont try that again!
*hugs zooz* Am so so happy you are still with us, dear man.
yeah me too! Zoom
it's all okay, zooz and pugs. ruru rises above it each ti4.
Yes i am so much beter now..i can even talk about it and even laugh at the silly things i tried to do to end it all..so glad it all back fired...just a cry for help i feel..as the attempts seem half hearted thank goodness..lol
I have done that before myself Zoom and now and then have thought on those lines but I know its not the answer.
There has been a few arguments going off on babble latley i have noticed...just been keping well out of them.
Glad you know that is not the answer to ((Puglet))
re all
ditto both of you...the only thing which stopped me each ti4, was the knowledge that one of my kids would find me.
that was babble at its best, zooz... and yes, maybe a cry for help... but one has to be pretty desperate to do it and it was no sinecure. Very glad you had the courage to climb back on.
Hello ,Joso :-)
hi joso *hugs*
((Rose))
re hi Sir Joso
g'day sir joso. nice to have your presence...lolo9l
I know it would kill my husband and children if I did... that is what kept me here a couple of years ago. Right now, I feel much stronger and more positive and don't think of it anymore.
see, we are all important to each other
absolutely sprite. all our loves are intertwined.
I can stand the thought of what would happen to my sister or animals
seems to be a fairly frequent line of thought
(cant)
we are, pug and rose. We all need eachother, one way or the other.
you too Joso
almost suprising mankind survives
see??? we all have some one or thing dependent on us...their lives would be broken without us.
they'd be helpless without you, pug. And we can't do without you either. Nor you, rose. Or any of you.
it is, joso
yes pug, kind of seriously toyed with the idea when my true love left
wow i am suprised that so many of us have had similar thoughts of badness...glad we all have come through thiose dark horrible times..and i know there are a few more babblers out there who have felt the same way too..so (( too them too.hugs))
*hugs joso* you are very important to us, dear man. So glad you are still with us.
Geez my typing just does not get any better.lol
we will never know, zooz. but us few, we know, and can cling to one another in the knowledge we are understood.
indeed, zooz. A *hug* to all those wrestling with staying alive. It can be a helluva battle.
but thank God we are all still here and we all can help each others--Babble seems like a life line more so and more so for us all
never acted on it beyond talking to a couple of people, want to see a doctor hop, tell him about suicidal thoughts
much more important than fighting over stuff in chog. Let's celebrate our diversity, be there for eachother and not dwell on the differences.
wow joso, that is so good! You are wise.
hear, hear sprite
maybe those reacting in anger cant reach out like us
and now i have don...my love and my mainstay...i give thanx everyday for him.
oh I can get angry too, no doubt about it.
not you Sprite! lol
pugs, anger is so much an irrational emotion.
got great service at the doc's office after that, was bumped to the head of the que for a couple of years after that
awesome, joso. Glad you got adequate help, but that is partly thanks to your adequate way of asking for help. Very well done.
Same here, Sprite..i even i can get very angry to..i even killed a chocolate bar yesterday by biting it to death...how mean am i..donjt mess with me when i am hungry...i mean angry :-)
pug, trust me. I once slammed the receiver of the telephone on the table a couple of times to make my father-in-law listen :)
lolol zooz... you should take on a bar of your own size :)
not sure it was the best idea, apparently I narrowly avoided being bundled off to the booby hatch.
LOLOL, zooz...if it wasn't for the nausea i would join you
oops, joso. Well, it worked out pretty well, thank God.
Good to hear you got some help, Joso, it is important to just say to youralef i need help here..i can not do this on my own..so good on you for that.
ahh Rose---your poor tummy
Oh, Rose, didnot knjow youe were feeling sick :-(
but joso!!! you would look so well in a booby hatch...or body hutch...or ....
What on earth has happened to my typing today..geez
joso would look good in anything... or in nothing... hmmmmm *drags mind back out of gutter*
zooz, the pain and pain meds make me feel ill. appetite down to one meal/day.
we can still follow you perfectly, zooz, don't worry
roflol, sprite....
That sounds just like my mother too, Rose, she just can not eat anything at the moment.
pain is a bitch, rose, I know. So are pain meds. And so is changing dose and frequency of them. Hang in there, please take it slowly with building down.
tnx rose, but fortunately they don't make strait jackests big enough for me
I have no trouble with reading writing like that cause thats how one of my sister writes(but much worse)lol
will do so, sprite. i am trying to listen to my body...
hahaha you do make me laugh, Joso..you were kidding ..right??..teehee
very wise, rose.
;)
nothing that will keep you down, joso :)
looks like that -tion ending is a big waste of space.
I'm sure once you get to play in the pool alot of your other issues will start to fade rose
Joso, I seen a pic of you and you are not that big
nearly 10pm here. if i vanish, it's NOT squirrels..
but meds
Yes i have noticed that too, Sprite.
was trying to be discreet, sprite...thank-you so much...*giggle*
lol rose, ever so sorry, subtle is NOT my middle name... :D
You ladies get worse i swear....lol
don't tell the men in white coats pug
lol zooz, and you wouldn't have believed it possible, right?
ahhh, zooz, and what would be left for you to laugh at?
okay, Joso--lips sealed
annnnnd......... they're coming to take me away, aha, they're coming to take me away...
*raspberries* to you joso...
and to pugs...ROFLOL
,,,,To the funny farm Where life is beautiful all the time And I´ll be happy to see Those nice young men In their clean white coats....
why do I see this conversation wrapping up like the benny hill show did
how is that, joso?
ummm, because....
Oh great now i have the benny hil show end theme tune in my head...wonder if i will be typing in babble words really fast too..lets hope so..lol
roflol zooz
oh, dear, so do i...and benny hill is running all over the place...
it always wraped with a comic chase scene with speeded up filming, very keystone cops, but more chauvistic
oh, LOL
yessss
Are you ok there, Puglet, or have you snuck off to get a coffee :-)
Iam just enjoying your guy's chatting
as long as she brings me one too, it is ok with me
and as they say in the classics...just what is it they say in the classics?
Okay a cup for anyone that wants it
I want to do jigidi puzzles :-(
still no other computer, zooz?
Sweet dreams, Rose..i take it you are saying..thats all folks?
soon Zoom---Iam sure you will find what you are wanting
oh, yes...so long, fare well, i bid you a fond adieu
Not yet, Sprite..Still have not decided yet.
To Be Continued... it says in the classics.
Jilli put the bust she make on there Zoom--I still cant believe she made that
bye rose, sleep well my darling. Dream even better. And take good care of you. *hugs*
hugs and Bye Rose
jillibus is an artist, pug
hmm, that too zooz and sprite. xoxox to you all.
What is her user name?
same as here, I think
reset time
jillibus. Zoom
she is Sprite! that bust is something else
a multitalented lady, our jilli
do you know if she has made other carvings
I think so, yes
Ok my friends..i am off to parents..have a wonderful day and see you soon..byee!
bye zooz, have a good visit and *hugs* for you.
bye Zoom and enjoy your day
you taking it easy today Sprite
yeah, I guess, sigh. Bit bored with doing nothing. But no energy yet for anything more.
are you going to be up to do group monday
hope so. If I can drag my sorry ass over there, I will go.
I know dear, but your health is important
won't go if I have a high fever. Otherwise, I will.
I was trying to find something funny to send you yesterday and ran across that cartoon I sent you. Hope you didnt mind it
no of course I didn't mind, lol. LOVED it. So funny.
I just was hoping to make you feel a little better
it did, hun. I have an evil sense of humour, you know it.
Iam glad it gave you a laugh then--soon as I seen it, I thought of Rose
lol yes, indeed. I have even worse pictures in my collection... will send you a couple for a laugh later today, ok?
okay--lol
OO, hasent been on this morning or in lurking---hope hes okay. Worries me he has no one to look in on him
not a bad grid today. I even found biggies without much trouble.
have a little faith in him though, pug. He has weathered many many years and came out on top.
I have found 2 on my own, but been talking too much and got on late too--but Iam pass half way though
I know, but you hear all the time how elderly are not found
good job, pug
Ruru's old goat meat is in the grid today--lol
lol yes
Ro7 must be obvious but just can't see it! Help ....
hi Alleyn, expand the flower
part of the plant thats underground Alley
Sprite do ;you have all the 8's
or: grannyro** *** her dinner.
yes pug
do they all have the same ending
all but one, I think, let me check
Thx. Flower no underground!
no, pug clued the ro8, Alleyn, not the 7 :)
ho, mo, ro, ru: all same ending
thank you
te8: sort of a compound. It is a gambling spintop.
really, Enable! You know what outies are: they're the opposite of innies. How else can one describe one's bellybutton?
jwr, all too tr4. Enable is so random.
want more of a clue for the te8, pug?
pleasse
Ah, in the Netherlands too! Hi sprite, always comforting to see you.
first 3: used in golf, or spell out the letter T. the rest: as the native american animal pole, change last vowel.
aw, that is a very nice thing to say, jwr. Thank you.
got it, thanks
yay pug :)
fireflies. Anything else I may help with before I go?
no thanks! hugs and bye and take care of yourself
and you do the same, pug. *hugs* Bye all, I hope you will have a blessed day and a peaceful evening.
hello hello
Hi annie
hi pug, did I miss sprite? How is she feeling today?
she just left, Annie, and shes got the flu bug
sorry to hear that. and how are you?
Iam fine and you
fine. Im up early today. made coffee and here I am babbling.
it seems to be a fairly nice grid today
good. Im starting at the top today and working my way down.
morning, all -- got up super early to watch Nadal v Monfils live from Australia :-)
Hi une
Hi Une! You are a true fan. Go Nadal, go!
Une, this is calendar is the best yet. I save them all. The pictures are wonderful.
glad you like it -- my daughter agrees! LOL
will definitely use pics of last week's very pregnant mamas (and their babies just days after transport) in 2015 calendar :-)
did someone adopt the mother and the pups?
right now the 2 moms and pups are with long-term fosters
oh okay..as long as they are not in state or city kennels.
pups are only a week old -- will stay with moms till weaned
and it's Rafa in 3 sets! woohoo!!
Une, are these some of those that was tooken from that mini van?
nooooo
rescued from shelter in TX
2-day transport to wonderful fosters in Minnesota
oh, did you see all those rescued from that van
heard about it . . .
do you make the whole drive or are there others meeting you too extend the trip for them
lots and lots of drivers volunteer for a leg or 2 -- a leg is around 65 miles -- it's a chain of drivers -- the coordinators are amazing
and this can be cross country, if needed?
thats so wonderful that you all can save so many animals, Une
yes! often from southern states to New England -- sometimes to Canada
wonderful folks doing wonderful work
good morning everyone:)
hi crossy
a labor of great love for all involved, pug
Hi Crossy
including pilots!
hey crossy
that's a wow!
NBT for crossy:))
go crossy!
Hi all :)
Hi Liz :)
hey liz :-)
re hi Liz
back in a mo . . .
Hi again Pugs - also Annie and Une
Sorry I missed sprite - I see she's got flu! Poor thing :(
shes feeling pretty yucky
How are you Liz
Perhaps I'll catch her tomorrow. I'm fine thanks. Sorry that i didn't chat earlier - really couldn't contribute anything useful - so much advice (all good) coming at you!
Has your headache eased?
I hope you didnt feel left out Liz--didnt mean for that to happen
yes, thanks
phantom--monsoon
Of course I didn't - the chat was relevant and important.
I hope that you can find a way to get things to work for you. The medical system sounds horrendous!
thanks Liz
have you had a chance to work Jillibus puzzle of her bust
Yes, I did it this morning - fantastic. What a talented lady! I left her a message after i completed her puzzle.
I must do that puzzle later. Jilli has many talents. Fabulous lady.
I agree.
Iam almost done with it---just got the blue to do----I know---its a beautiful piece of work
do you have puzzles on there too Annie
I'm really enjoying the puzzles on there - so many different types.
no, I dont..but am happy to do others puzzles. I wouldn't know how to put a puzzle on jigidi.
I know--too many--lol
Did you know I have a few puzzles on there, Annie?
Liz, no I didn't..will look for them.
I cant remember all the babblers that has puzzles on there
crossy and sprite have puzzles there. sprite's name is spritelet on that site.
have you added new ones Liz
jbp too.
Not yet, pugs. I will soon if I think of something worth putting up. Perhaps some more birds.
I really like the ice one
I seen a puzzle on there the other day of 2 pieces--dont understand the reason of that
Thanks - well, I'll have a look tomorrow if I have time and see what I can find! Do you like them more when it's one picture or when it's lots of them put together?
either way Liz
2 pieces! How weird!
Is there any way to get a picture of the puzzle to work off of it or do you have to do the puzzle from memory?
I know! nice pic too
I have to admit that I use our laptop for the picture. I worked the first few by colour and shape and pausing regularly so I could look at the picture in another window.
I will let Liz answer if she wants--she writes better in explaining
I also asked sprite the same question.
You could've explained it just as well, pugs.
Liz, are you saying you have the picture on the laptop and you work the puzzle on another computer?
Yes, Annie.
Why not just open the picture in another tab?
only way I found is by clicking the arrow and it bringing on the pic of the puzzle
But before my hubby suggested using the laptop, I opened 2 jigidi window and minimised one and kept flipping between the 2 to see the picture. Much slower that way.
LOL, well then, I have to buy a laptop. Really, I wish I could afford one.
Just what I did Molly but I still prefer actually being able to see the picture, while I work.
HI Molly
Print one out?
Hi Molly
I also still prefer having a real jigsaw on the table.
I printed one out but the picture was not clear at all
Good morning everyone.
It depends on the resolution of the picture.
but I will print one out again just for the colors, at least.
Good morning to you, too.
Opening a 2nd tab is probably a good idea too.
I agree Liz. There is something about the satisfaction of feeling the pieces click together.
Yes, it is
Also in jigidi, the pieces are all the correct way up, which I guess takes a bit of the fun out of it!
How do you open a second tab? (asked by a computer-illiterate)
If Molly has a windows computer, it's better if she explains. Mine's a mac and might be a bit different, though the principle's the same.
Just minimise the first jigidi tab and through your browser open jigidi again.
Does that make sense to you?
Liz, I wrote down what you said and will try it. Yes, it makes sense. Thanks!
this is like reading Greek or some other unknow language!
Another terrific jigsaw puzzle site is "TheJigsawPuzzles.com. They have some great categories. I'm now working on Castles and, wow, how beautiful these MANY castles are.
But hello everyone, it's grappa girl reporting
Hi Ruby - hugs.
Hi Mimi too - hugs.
{{lizlin}}
((ruby)) you understand how I feel.
hi mimi
hi, mimi
Hi Ruby and Mimi
((Liz)) So good to see you here!
((ruby))
((annie)) I'm too old for all this and without enough time to add another additiction
Thanks - I've missed a lot of people recently - been on a different times or something!
Hi, pug! Were you the one who told me about The Jigsaw Puzzles.com? Great site.
I dont think so
ruby dear, I asked my friend Barbara what a browser was and she almost clonked me. Yes, it is like Urdu.
Hi, Annie!
Looks like a good site mimi - mind you I've got so many puzzles bookmarked on jigidi! I think they'll keep me going for quite a while.
That's funny, Annie. I guess being in teaching meant I had to become reasonable on a computer though it the 5 years since I've not taught, technology has moved on even further.
you can imagine what it's like when my son visits. He acts like I'm an idiot!
later dear friends, need to go--hugs and bye
Liz, I just found this other site to have more variety in the types of puzzles I like. Yesterday I put together the Disneyland Castle all lit up for Christmas--gorgeous.
bye, puglet, have a peaceful day
See you tomorrow Pugs - I won't be here much longer either - need to cool down!
Bye, pug!
{{pugs}}
Liz, I got a digital camera so will be taking pictures of my new balcony tropical oasis...will post them for you.
I'll look forward to that. Is the balcony finished now?
Annie, in Windows there are tabs at the top of your screen. Like file folder tabs. Just click on the small one to the right, and that opens a new tab.
Perhaps turn one of your pics into a jigsaw, Mimi.
Thanks Molly :)
It's mostly finished. Just a couple of little things to do. I'm SO enjoying it..and so are the cats. Perfect weather here---75 degrees and beautiful.
Liz, I did create 3 puzzles in jigidi using icons I've used here in the past...same name as here.
Molly, what do I click on to open a new tab? File? and then what do I click on to get a new tab? What the heck is a tab? (Im not really this dumb, I hope)
Sounds lovely - like a warm winter's day here! Today it was 30 C here but it's a bit humid tonight. At least we didn't have the heatwave that Melbourne did.
I'll have a look tomorrow, mimi.
ho 8/45 plz
ROFL, Annie! I know just what you mean...I only started using computers a few years ago myself...still learning.
At the top of your screen, there are tabs, like file folder tabs. The one you have open now says "Babble: The Ultimate Word Game". Next to that, is another small blank tab. Click on that tab to open it.
holler the mostest
Just looked mimi - says you haven't created any! Have you published them for open use - or something similar. it was a question on the page when I created a jigsaw.
ty
Hi o-o
Maybe not, Liz---I'll take a look later and try to correct it. Give me a day or so since I'm working today. Nothing is easy in life, right?
Molly, Im on Babble Expert but when I am on windows then I will probably see what you are saying. Thanks. I am going to ask a stupid question. Is tab short for tablet? Oy, I cant stand being so ignorant
Think it stands for tabulate.
lol mimi
Molly, don't know about Annie but I don't have any blank tabs next to the ones I now have open. Couldn't she just go to the search engine and open another one through that?
thanks Liz
If my grandsons were here, I would be an expert by now. Kids are amazing on the computer.
Hope you work it out, Annie. I'll catch you all again soon. Heading for an air conditioned room for a while. Enjoy your days everyone.
Bye, Liz, stay cool.
Bye ((Liz))
I once asked my grandson Jack a question and his fingers flew so fast across the board and then he said, "see, Grandma Anne..get what I did"? Huh!
Igive up..I will be content but will bombard Molly with questions now and then. Thanks for the help, Molly.
Annie, when I first started learning just how to get emails going, my daughter got so frustrated with me that she said "Mom, I'm not going to help you anymore unless you promise me you won't right-click...every time you do, you get into trouble." So, I stopped right-clicking. Then took a job where I HAD to right-click (after all, it IS a VERY important tool) and the first time I had to I was so scared.
LOL, Mimi
annie, when my son tries to help me, he goes so fast \I can't follow. The only one who can help me is the gardener, and he goes slooooowly
I don't know how my kids seemed to be born with computer knowledge since I was the one who gave birth to them.....
The new generation has a "computer" in their DNA
For me, it was a matter of that light bulb in my head that finally illuminated and once I understood the functions better, it all clicked in my head (no pun intended). But I'd still like to take a few computer courses.
half and lie-down ti**
I am still in the calculator generation
bye ruby
I'm more like abacus....
Bye ruby!
ruby, that's me...rofl
The blank tab is a little blank box next to the tab that says "Babble: The Ultimate Word Game"
I'm very bad with mechanical things...lucky I can use the toaster.
I'm good at mechanical things, but the computer isn't mechanical
not on babble expert, will look for it on windows
I can fix a lamp but can't move photographs
So I am not alone!
I can change a typewriter ribbon. Anyone remember that?
hahah, annie, remember Royal manual typewriters\?
Molly, I swear I don't have a blank tab there...am I missing something? We should have to pay you for your help, Molly!
I had a Smith-Corona as a teenager. I cherished that typewriter.
OMG, yes, I remember those all too well, ruby...and the ones that had different space allowances for different letters---awful. Loved the Selectrics, though.
in high school, we had to learn touch-typing on Royals with blank keys
Hey, you know how you can tell if someone has a blonde as a secretary? By the white-out on the computer screen.
I wish I still had that Smith-Corona.
Here is a screen shot. The grey box is the blank tab. http://tinyurl.com/kzn89dh
lol, mimi
I still have an IBM Selectric.
that was a great one, Molly
I also had a Selectric but when we moved I gave it away.
Don't have the gray box, Molly, but just realized I can open a new tab by just choosing the + sign at the right.
Your tabs are all the way at the top of your screen. On the same line as your red X that you use to close out is. Mimi you must be using Internet Exploder.
Nope, using Firefox. My tabs are beneath the File, Edit, etc. options.
in firefox, the tab box has a + in it
I always have many tabs open...have 19 right now.
Ah, okay. I haven't been in Firefox in a long time.
I'm not crazy about Firefox these days---it malfunctions A LOT. What are you using, Molly? Chrome?
I have Explorer already loaded and use it to connect to the remote computers for work.
Yes, I use Google Chrome.
What are the advantages to Chrome, Molly?
It's faster and better at blocking pop-ups.
Hi! Google Chrome loads faster on my (older) computer then Internet Explorer.
I'll have to try it again. Firefox keeps not letting me load search items...get an error message. Very frustrating. But Explorer does the same thing sometimes. Will see if I can get used to Chrome if it's better and faster. Thanks.
2ND olumn 2ND T stats please?
I hate having to restart every time those things happen...just a pain.
Gotta get to work. Good seeing everyone today. Molly, sorry to put you to work! Have good days, everyone, and hugs all around.
bye Mimi

Tell him I sadi thanks for the game time. Now I won't have to look it up.

this is the extreme weater and violent weather we were warned about well over ten years ago. Also my dad gave a prophetic speech 60 years ago about population overtaking food supply
i'm off to a paperback book sale to get a supply for the little bok house I will put on my street--look them up on the web--they're all over madison and minneapolis
halfway, NBT and NBS - time for a breakfast break

may be in Minneapolis in March... which I think is insane. Who plans a conference for minnesota in the winter?!?
The planet does go through cycles, but humans have been glib with proper care of the planet
Great idea, RB. There is a nice one at the park near me. I have a pic. Are you on FB?
go see Nef--she staffed a conference for me. Spfld Il has had some nasty winter conferences this year
indeed! no one has te 8? to clue?
spfld?
went to a conference in Minneapolis in Feb many years ago during the time of their Ice Carnival - all the hotels were connected with enclosed walkways - went on a bus tour of the ice sculptures
I once went to a week long conference in Minneapolis in February and it never got warmer than minus thirty during the day.
True, kje. A storm could impact attendance.
good morning, babblers.
ooooh, wv that sounds cool
The enclosed walkways are wonderful!
my kids are on facebook--so address it to rb and they'll get it--tell me--i think it's in my name but they know if I get on facebook I won't wriite and they want my books FINISHED before I am.
Hi Gail, Owl, everyone
we had a grat time at the conference - also went to the giant mall there on a bus tour
Good morning.
hello, scrabbler. some of us are having thunder snow, several miles north, but I have not heard any yet.
never heard of thunder snow
oh wait - i take that back!
Thunder during snowstorms is eerie.
Help with du6 please?
du6...chores
it's a squall, a clipper. i cancelled my plans for winterfest; who wants to celebrate winter when its cold and dnowy? ;)

Yay! Now what are your plans for the day? Hiking somewhere?
no, writing a grant
Grrrr. Seeing much Flu there yet? We have not, although we have had some very ill young infants with wheezing.
flu is really bad here
H1N1?
and of course, CA is also seeing an outbreak of pertussis, several deaths in infants
We see lots of pertussis. DTaP just isn't immunogenic enough.
yes hini
oops h1n1
wears off too fast
I have a 4 mo old with an AV canal that I pray gets through the winter without getting ill.
hopefully they aren't taken him out much
She is being kept home but 21 mo old sister attends day care. Grrr.
ugh
ok, must run - hagd all
Bye, kje. Enjoy your day!
Good morning, all. Oooh. Doctor talk. Poor sick children.
Hi Guys
Hi Judi and hego
Flu in Frisco, sounds bad.
There are big bad germs out there that can kill kids, especially the most vulnerable kids.
I never knew pertussis could be fatal.
aren't kids getting their dpt's?
I infants Judi, yes.
Wow. A friend of ours is down with the flu right now. Then again, she always gets sick. I think she has an immunity problem.
Yes, but babies need 3 (by age 6 mo) to get almost full immunity, so they are vulnerable prior to that. And, of course, we see parents that refuse vaccinations.
Drives me crazy.
Make her take vitamin D, Judi.
vitamindcouncil.org
Used to be a vaccine nurse at a clinic.
why do some people seem to catch everything?
Always wondered about that.
She has a doc appointment for Monday. I feel bad that she doesn't have health insurance.
Have heard there is a psychological aspect sometimes.
Not washing hands before touching face, exposure to germs (kids), low vit D, ...
Depression can impair immune system
She has her own house cleaning business. And she works as a waitress on the weekends. I think she just gets so run down, the germs make a bee line for her.
Lot of exposure there too.
She does suffer from bouts of depression too.
Depression can be secondary to low vit D. Make her take at least 5000 IU/day. I take 6000 IU/day in the winter.
Reminds me, yet again, that I haven't gotten my flu shot yet. Perhaps I will go to the pharmacy today and get it.
Judi, like your icon. :)
GET IT!!
Yes, Judi, flu is spreading across the US.
Ty, hego. YES! I will. You needle chasing vampires have convinced me.
34 to go but I must vacuum downstairs before toddler greatnephew arrives. He is terrified of the vacuum.
lol Judi

nbt nbs and hello all
It's not a bad grid so far
i'm having connection problems, so i can't even properly start on it :/ trying though
ooh this grid has my name in it :)
Hello babbleworld! Hi rows, bichon, shorty, harp and alleyn
hi jill :)
hello jillyjill
i'm going to make some rice and milk pudding later today... i found a recipe online that looks good, but do any of you have any experience making something like this? if anyone else has a recipe or advice i am all ears :)
My Grandma used to make it, but I don't have her recipe and no advice...sorry rows
it's okay :) i'm just excited to try it... a coworker of mine gave me some that she made last week and it was delicious... i'd ask her for the recipe, but it would be all in Spanish and that kind of daunts me
do you mean rice pudding, rows?
I have not made it in a long time
ty for the te8, odd word
I used my new humidifier last night and I had to get up 5-8 times to pee. Along with the coughing I hardly got any sleep.
Sorry peri...interupted sleep is the worst
Rows, try this recipe: http://tinyurl.com/q53geok
and yes, rice pudding... it's rice and milk and you put vanilla and cinnamon and whatever else in it
does anyone else have that problem when using a humidifier?
using cinnamon is so common with Spanish-inspired American dishes (not familiar enough with continental Spanish flavors!)
yes, arroz con leche! that's what it is :)
peri, when did you last clean the humidifier?
ty stid :)
we used to eat arroz con leche when I was child
hello
Medically, not sure how humidifier would affect bladder
I just bought it and used it for the first time last night. HOw often do I have to clean it? I know I have to replace the filter often.
hmm, heavy cream isn't something i can get here... i'll have to improvise on that big
moist cool air made the room cooler. I don't know. I did not drink much fluid before going to bed.
*
Hi Rows,
bit
humidifier may turn out to be more trouble than it is worth. we will see
I see you're from Honduras.
yeah i live here
humidifiers are perfect environments for growing mold, which might explain the coughing. Also, since the air is moister, you don't need to drink as many liquids to be well hydrated (we always experienced the opposite, needing to drink A LOT more when visiting my grandparents in dry climates)
i'm not *from* here, but i live in Honduras
How are things there since the election? What's the status with the Libre Party and Xiomara?
great, mold I do not need
I would follow the instructions on the humidifier for cleaning. We once bought one that was "new" but turned out to have been returned to the store. It was already damp and nasty when we got it.
should I empty the water out during the day when I am not using it?
now my dream accessory for decades has been a DE-humidfier... but we never managed to find one that worked that we could afford.
Well, halfway through, nbt/nbs...off to clean house!
i'm not really in the loop on politics, as a foreigner here... but during the elections i know there were fears of rioting and violence, and everything in Copan and Gracias at least seemed calm, which was nice
I would definitely have it dry out between uses, yes.
my sister has one of those in the basement that seems to be working well
it was fairly obvious that Orlando would win, though
have a lovely weekend, jilly
brb
so Gracias was happy about the win, but of course it was a bit nerve wracking cos we didn't know if people from outside Gracias would come in and do things here because they are angry
(Gracias is Orlando's hometown, and where i live)
I never got to Gracias but I really liked Copan, the bird sanctuary and the ruins.
yeah the ruins are amazing. i was there during the election weekend, that's why i was mentioning it
Gracias is cute and quaint... quite small and historical
where are you from, zas?
I spent a week at the language school there. They do one-on-one teaching. It was awesome
Rows, would you tell me how to pronounce your national capital?
I live in California but originally from Indonesia
tay-goo-see-gall-puh
so how do you know about Honduran politicians?
and harp, we often call it Tegus for short, which would be like tay-goose
From being there two years ago when the Libre party was still in its infancy
ah
thank you, i will probably have to ask you again...
Planning on going to Honduras, harp?
could I have a clue for the t8 pls?
te8 - looks like a Latin description of one who does not drink alcohol. Or join up a golf term and a misspelt native American pole.
ty haz
You're welcome, rolin.
oooh. thanks Haz (and rolin)
Glad it worked, stidmama.
Hi Hz, stid, Rows, harp, rolin
Hello, bichon. I'm just heading off to get the evening meal underway. Enjoy the grid.

my sevond HE 6/36 is same as first one just change last consonant
Hi ruru and teach
thanks!
hello all
Hi again, kiddos! Reading back in chat about humidifiers. We've always had one. I have to have at least 50% humidity in the house or I start getting nose bleeds. We put a capful of bleach in the water every week or so. That keeps the mold from spawning.
in 5, 10?
nose bleeds?
in + tennis match
hello bich
Yep. Dry air dries out my nasal passages. I'm sensitive that way.
that's a drag judi
I hate nose bleeds
Ta!
It's very annoying. Hardly ever happens now though.
I'm not a humidity guy ... it tends to bother me
That's why I will never go to Miami again :D
Well. I did it! I need to go prepare a dish for a party tonight. But, before I go, can I offer anybody a clue?

The sky is falling! The sky is falling!
snowing here...
Pen, hasn't it been snowing there for about a month now? How do you stand it?
Hi Cos & Molly
I hear Colorado has decided on a State meat today
no, we just had a warm spell of March like weather for a few days...and had rain before that that took away most of our snow in the Midcoast...
Oh, that's good that you got a break then.
*Waiting for the punch line*
Pot Roast
: D I was thinking munchies...Slim Jims
i was thinking mountain goat... ;o)
our weather has been weird...severe, then unusually warm, then severe....wet, icy, wet, etc...
that was too easy even for u ru :P
well.. it is a Saturday and I'm just getting going
reading an article. quite a few denver restaurants and bars are banning Pat fans for tomorrow. I think thats extreme

hi Jane
hi hego
howdy again my friends:)) ty for te 8. is a new one for me
hi Crossy
hello crossy
well, this is underhanded as hell but the total truth and as one who is about to embark on a sodium reduced diet , I was shocked that the Canadian and u.s food inspectors green light this practice. http://tinyurl.com/64jbszq
crossy, I agree. We always look at the labels and make sure there are no additives, no extra hormones, no salt injections, etc. Certified organic, locally sourced is best.
Hi crossy. It is shocking that this is done! I agree that organic chicken is the way to go....
i was totally unaware of this practice till recently
On a related note, I join in the throngs of well wishers who extend sympathies for your reduced bacon diet... but glad you are taking care of your health.
i am not totally cut off of bacon but it is been severely cut back
What?? Crossy will be skipping the bacon from now on?
Did the doctor at least allow you to gradually step down, or give you a bacon patch to ease the withdrawal?
i am allowed a gradual step down
for example make mrs dash a part of my table condiments
and buy the 50% salt reduced bacon
Oh, that's better. Because of my beloved's need for less sodium, we have discovered a world of herbs, meat rubs, and seasonings. He really doesn't miss it now.
Crossy, I'm sorry your sodium is being restricted so much. Mrs. Dash comes in many flavors these days though, so maybe you will find some good flavors there
Once you start watching your sodium intake, you discover the insane amounts of salt in processed food.
very true, Molly.
i am just starting to discover that ,molly:(
that no-salt stuff is horrid btw
all chemicals
I've always followed a low salt diet (since I started working in CVICU, 39+ years ago; and I found some seasonings that I recommended to my patients all the time back then (it's a local company)
Nef... do tell, please.
Crossy, thanks for posting that info. I just checked the chicken I have in the fridge, and it says "non-pumped" on the label and there is no ingredient list. Geez, one has to watch everything so carefully these days! I've been on restricted salt for over 20 years and so many foods hubby brings home are so salty I can barely stand them!
crossy has his listening ears on...
just think, in "plumped" chicken, one out of every ten pounds is sodium injections;(
Here is a link: http://tinyurl.com/mwazrcj
Wow, it's a whole website that sells salt-free items. Thanks, Nef.
ty nef
I go to the State Fair every year and buy about 3 or 4 sets of their seasonings. There aren't any extra chemicals in them; and they are for cooking. I've bought their salt substitute also but I like the seasonings best
yw. I really think sodium is addictive, so we try not to use it much at all. Eating out at restaurants can sometimes make us very thirsty due to the salt.
That's why I make my own soups
me too, bichon. (home made soups just fast so much better than anything else
taste, not fast
Well, unless you're eating the soup I tried to make a few days ago ... then it's definitely 'fast' ;)
Soup is really creative, but I don't care for creamed soups
I don't care for the creamed tomato soups, but I love mo4 every other type
I don't like tomato soup by itself, but it's okay in another type of soup.
The only time I make tomato soup is if we are having grilled cheese for lunch. There is something about that flavor combination.
that is a good combo, Molly.
I like to make Black Bean soup. It has cumin, oregano and chili powder
And, of course lentil
mmmm, home made soups...
I used to make bean soup for DH's Aunty. I'd make a huge 2 gallon batch and then package it all up in single serving seals bags so she could just put a pouch in a pot of water and heat and eat. I haven't made bean soup since she passed away... :-(
love having soup around - had the last of our turkey soup for lunch today - had chili earlier this week
Beloved made a succulent, savory beef stew last night. Uses chopped onions, carrots, 3 cups red wine, and a bunch of herbs - cooked for hours. Thick, rich, delicious.
I always make huge pots of soup and then freeze it in the sealed bags. It makes a quick meal when you're pressed for time
need to put together a Babble cookbook - lots of good recipes out there
Sounds delicious, ch! (good idea for supper, but I need to start it now I guess!)
reminds me, anyone who wants my slow cooker Jamacian pulled pork recipie, just e-mail me or let me know in here. i have it on my desktop and ready to go atm
I made a great spicy butternut squash-coconut soup. But I failed with a cabbage and pork experiment a few days ago. My beloved husband is valiantly taking it to work for lunch (or maybe kindly disposing of it after he leaves the house :) )
te 8 /50 plz
I think I'll save the beef stew for tomorrow night. I just went to get the beef out and *someone* took it out of the frog (where I'd put it last evening after grocery shopping) and put it in the freezer
a golf ball holder + a decorative first nation pole but change last vowel
golf te* + misspelt Native American pole
ty both!
:)
I hate be sabotaged in the kitchen
(I'm having trouble seeing any 7 letter words today)
drives me nuts as well .i have stuff i have a specific plan for (leftover meat) and my kid slaps the entire pound and a half tween two slices of bread for a snack:(
I have returned. You may all relax now.
whew! was worried there for a sec, cos
Oh well; we need to go watch our str. playing roller derby this evening so this might have been a stretch to get it done fast....
crossy, our son does that too. So he'd had a leftover pizza in the frog last night and DH and I ate it! :-D (I had to snicker when he went looking for *his* food!)
all we need is ruru in here and we can tear the place apart;))
revenge is sweet ,nef
spell check and I are fighting again. DTR= daughter (it isn't str.)
Not to mention the frog in your kitchen : )
ribbit
BBS, I'll go find something in the freezer for supper tonight
frog legs?

tis indeed, cross. (I found homemade turkey soup for supper.
seems nef has a frog in her kitchen
no relative of mine... ;o)
ty for the reminder.i must also delve into the winter wasteland of my icebox and see what is hibernating there
nope. Just someone who moved my beef (I'd had in the frog for tonight's supper) into the freezer; so I had to change my ideas for supper
FRIG, Not Frog! Yeeesh!
trying to set up outlook with gmail.. pain in the ass
Spell check, learn MY language!
(now I understand why you guys are talking about frogs! DUH!)
lol ribbit
that's my line... ;o)
sorry pen, take it away:)
I don't care for Outlook
screw it i give up/ ill stick with gmail.com
me either. We had to switch to Outlook at work (last year when I was working) but now they've switched to another type of program and everyone is missing Outlook because it seems easier in hindsite
i use gmail for my real life stuff and outlook for everything else, like when some software site demands a valid addy but i do not care to wade through their spam for the rest of my life
I'll have Ryan set it up. He knows more about that crap :P
My son gave us an IPad and we can't get off the Setting page
did you try clicking on the bottom....that circular thing?
missing one i.. I have in4 in5 it4
io 4
ugh I thought I had that already so I didnt bother entering itb efore.. thanks!
Yes, I did, but I have no idea how to get off the Settings page
you clicked on it from the settings page?
shut it downa nd restart
how do you shut it down, just hold down the button on the bottom?
yeah..til it shuts down.. then turn it on again. should be back at home screen
hold down on the power button....(not sure where that is on an ipad....it's on the top right on an itouch)...
yuppers. works with most tablets
lol I am sitting on a desktop babbling, while playing facebook slots on my tablet and texting on my smart phone.
Ooh I love my iPad more than life itself! (Bich, my son also was the generous benefactor).
Cos, you need an intervention
lol! cos is wired in!
crossy loves his asus transformer infinity tablet!!
lol yes I just put the tablet away
Okay, did that and it won't reboot
It's an old IPad, been dropped a few times and has been sitting under a couch
if you hold down the power button a little longer, it will reset itself...
when rebooting , press and hold for 5 seconds or so (some will beep and mine vibrates) then you let go and she will boot up
yeah sometimes you have to hold it longer than usual.
On a cold winter's night, tumbling into bed with my iPad, with Prison Break on Netflix, and the electric blanket on full blast, beats the alternative (!!!) into a cocked hat. I'm old!
i LOVE laying in bed and doing the ole Netflix on my tablet
i am in season2 of prision break and it rocks!
I have a roku for netflix and hulu..watch it all on tv :)
The first three seasons on Prision Break are great, but the 4th wasn't so good
any luck bich?
us Canadians are not allowed hulu:(
agreed, bichon....
Oh, Crossy, I've just begun Season 4. I don't want it to end.....
No cos. I need to get in touch with my son.
Wah! I'm sorry to hear that.....
soodles, i am just at the part where Lincoln and son get caught
Oooooh Lincoln.....
Hopefully it's an easy fix!
the guy from prison bad came out a few weeks ago..
Your right, Cos. Wentworth Millar.
I saw the first episode. Liked it added it to my queue. Not as good as Oz was though.
But Dominic Purcell is my particular fantasy.....
is Oz on Netflix?
Sadly no.
:(((
I thought maybe it was too graphic for netflix but now dexter's on. so i dont know
Which one Linc or Michael?
Too graphic for Netflix? I didn't know they had restrictions.
they don't i was just making an assumption :P
I hate it when you assumpt : P
You know the guy on PB who plays Haywire. He is on Grimm
lol assumpting is so fun though
<----- too long since I assumped!
43 left. hitting a wall.
I'm glad there is a lot of room in the handbasket to hell.

evening all!
Hi dan2
was watching an episode of prison break last night and commented once again on what a little slime ball T- Bag is in a variety of situations then i pulled myself out of the immersion of what i was looking at and realized what a great actor this person is to make me hate him so much as the series progresses (the rest of them are darn good actors and actresses as well)
howdy dan

fireworks!
congrats!
nice going bichon and cos
Dinner first is good. But when breakfast afterwards is provided, then you know you have a keeper!! In my 'umble opinion!
when single, i always used to practice the art of the perfect breakfast. That is why crossy is so good at breffast, anything to get them to stay overnight..well almost. The first time i said to my mrs "well, how do you like your eggs in the morning?" and she snapped right back, "unfertilized" i knew i was in for a rough go of it
hah
I am watching Will and Grace reruns
Lol, Crossy.
I do a pretty mean breakfast, myself!! Bacon, eggs, sausage, black n white pudding, tomatoes, hash browns, all with lashigs of tea & soda bread.
Was watching a britcom the other day and they mentioned full english breakfast.. what does that consist of?
I just looked up black & white pudding Soodle. yuck
When So
When So
I could not even think about starting the day with that in spite of my Irish ancestry
Sorry. Black n white pudding is glorious! Cos, the full english is as I described... Bacon, egg sausage toast, and on a good day, you might get mushrooms, beans, puddings & fried potatoes.
it's a full fry up of eggs, bacon, sausages, tomatoes and mushrooms. Black pudding is a Northern British favourite and they do include that.
ah thanks sounds good!
Bugs, have you ever tried black/white pudding?
ah no, thank you very much. I can't do head cheese, oysters, clams .... any of those things with that texture of snot does not go down
I can eat cooked liver but still don't look forward to it
Jaxx, my son is living in London. Whenever he comes home, he has to take back at least 10 white puddings... And at least 20 bottles of poteen, for the ex-pats!
I love black pudding but the ingredients aren't the best. I take it white pudding is what we call Hog's pudding which is similar to the black but without the blood.
I'm with Bugsaw on liver. I am the same with any offal. To me it smells of its function.
Rofl @ Bugs' "texture of snot" remark! Bugs! Oysters are snottish! Not puddings.
Love an english breakfast but am not a fan of black pudding.
you can't tell me coagulated blood does not have the texture of snot. I am not convinced
My husband was a mussel and oyster fisherman before he retired. He cannot eat oysters, he says he likes his food dead!
*changes channel from Weird foods network*
thanks ruru
I am nursing a nice soothing cup of tea right now
So am I!
Ooh yes a nice hot cup of tea..now you are talking :-)
jaxx and I have the same shakey stomach. No snot foods, just tea
hi zooz. long time no see
snot foods doesn't sound appealing
I hate oyster, clam, mussells, cockles etc..YUCK
for table settings do you put down kleenex instead of napkins?
LOL
Oh, ha-ha!
Not keen on sushi either.
I can't possibly eat sushi
that's horrible grammar.. excuse me
Hello, Bugsaw.i have been here...just different times..Nice to see you :-)
I couldn't possibly eat sushi
My son went back to the UK after Christmas. In his van he had 32lbs of flour for some Irish ex-pat friends who hanker after the taste of home. I sweated bullets as he was travelling, fearing that the Customs people would pull him over & query what a 23 year old young lad was doing bringing 32lbs of white powder across international frontiers!
I thot gourmet cooks were adventurous eaters ruru. Some of the meals you describe sound very elaborate
I do.. I have limits though bugs
that applies to all parts of my life :D
lol soodle. my son got stopped at the border for bringing his brother a sword. He didn't think it would count as weapon since they had been fighting all their lives...
lol
A friend of mine once sparked a bomb scare by leaving a parcel of hand-made holiday mementoes in front of the zoo when she couldn't deliver them. Easily done these days.
ok ruru, but some of your boundaries are looser than others hahahaha
for sure.. and I like to test them sometimes too
I think it is funny when you get carried away in the chog with your puns. I have no talent for that
Lol, Bugs! Pre 9/11, we visited Kenya & brought home spears. Absolutely lethal weapons, and we were allowed to take them on the plane as hand luggage.
laughing is good for the system
Soodle, you do not need anyone's permission to enjoy the food you like.
no she doesn't o-o, but if I ever get there to visit her, I want her to remember, none of that breakfast pudding for me please
greetings babblers
hi Gwen
any clues for the ro 7, please. I can't find the ending...
a pink dawn bugs
or evening
ok, moving on but thanks for trying
ro7 = ro4 (a flower) = past tense of, to consume with the mouth
Thorned flower + PT of consumed food.
Snap, BDG lol
valentine flower + consume food
oops, that second = sign should be should be a + sign
hah, you already got it *-)
OH, the past tense of eat. thanks fellas
and Gwen who is not a fella, sorry
no prob bugsaw
thank you o-o.
guys is universal nowadays isn't it?
fellas is not equivalent to guys
well.. gwen.. uh...
Time for my head to hit the pillow..happy babbling everyone....*Poof*
Nite zooz
happy landings zooz
nigh zoom
nbt and 66 to go
ty for ro 7/28 new one for me:)
Interesting. I'd always associate 'Guys' with everybody-male & female. Fellas, I'd always assume were males. In this part of the world, the all-encompassing word is 'lads'. 'Lads' are everybody. Grannies, grandpas, newborns & everybody in between.
hi all. just been out on a night out and read the chog.i laughed at your son's flour trip soodle.i know it wasn't laughable to you but tested he would have been ok :)
all languages change and evolve. certain words used to be okay and are now taboo, and vice versa
is it too late too start?
Hi all :)
start what? lol
and as for lethl weapons!!
and as for lethl weapons!!
Hiya Lil n Liz! Lil n Liz. Liz n Lil? You two could be a double act!!!
Good thought, Soodle - also just read about the flour trip. LOL!
But yes, also understand your concern.
it annoys me what we can get on planes now and what we can't.i hate the 'itlle suitcases' that apparently are hand luggage!!
Amazing the size bags people get away with as hand luggage on domestic flights from our airport!
hi liz and gwen
And why do some airlines allow you to take a bottle of water on board and others don't?
two words: security theater
we can take water on board any airline from GB but we have to buy it at the airport liz. any water or pop bottles are taken from us at customs
and my new phantom is duotone
Here I can take a bottle of water on board brought from home - in Singapore I can only take an empty bottle on board and ask for it to be filled.
Ha! You've never flown Ryanair then, Liz! If your bag is half a milimetre over their specs, they will fleece you for about €50 or €60! Shysters!
I know all about Ryanair - weren't there plans to also charge if you wanted to use the loo?
Yup! And they were considering charging passengers according to their body weight.
I'd forgotten that!
Easijet were similar I think!
the airline should just sell tickets with no dates, then you go the the airport and wait until there's anought people there to fill up the plane, then you vote on where you want to go. HA HA HA
aye, soodle's right, the cheap airlines will charge you for everything, but it still annoys me that people take small suitcases which are allowed by the airlines as hand lugggage and when people try to put them in the overhead lockers they nearly knock you out putting them in and getting past you when you're sat in your seat!!That is my hubby's and mt biggest gripe travelling
(that would completely foil all hijackers)
Confused? Well yes!!!
there are airlines that will charge bigger people two seats as they don't fit into one.i saw that on airline us once
frankly, if i could afford a plane ticket i would be happy for all the effing abuse. (joke!)
Not wanting to offend any Canadians, but the worst airline I've travelled with recently was Air Canada. The staff were not at all helpful to some of the older people trying to gett heir hand luggage into the lockers.
It really contrasted with the staff when we got back to Australia and many of the same people transferred onto a domestic flight. Smiles and helpfulness all around.
to be quite honest, liz, some of the "hand luggage" weighs more than a big suitcase!
True - I can better understand regulating hand luggage by weight - though of course, space is also an issue.
Air Canada is considered a joke is Canada
But they need to readjust their thinking (some airlines are) because now so many people are carrying computers and heavier cameras and other electronics that they don't want to store in the hold.
but because it is smaller, it passes as hand luggage but it never get weighs and it takes most of the overhead locker up which is why i get annoyed
I thought so Saani - didn't think I was treading on too many toes!
Ooops! Sorry!
Nonewhatsoever (except the stakeholders)
I remember when I was at school. The absolute highest that we were expected to aspire to was to be an air hostess with Aer Lingus. Forget about science, medicine, the arts etc. a trolley dolly was the pinnacle of sucess!
Especially for the boys!
Rofl! Liz 😃😃😃
i think they do too liz, as many people are getting away with paying for weight!
Phew! Suddenly realised that could've sounded offensive!
really soodle?
well, the flight attendant does get plenty of free miles, don't he/she
I remember thinking as a kid that being an air hostess sounded so glam - get to see the world!
or maybe not, dunno . . .
Yes but my friend's son is a trolley dolly with BA - but he is pretty fed up with it and doesn't seem to have got much benefit from the air miles.
when i was at school, the careers advice we were always told, army, nurses and air hostesses :)
Though his mum got a trip to the Caribbean out of it!
I was always told be a teacher, even at uni, when I swore blind I didn't want to teach, just to get them to suggest something else!
i got almost no career advice at school, and when i visited the little office where they help you find a job they pretty much said fast food or nothing
cat infront of computor doesn't help!! :)
Cat wants to join in conversation.
aye, and her job would be fish taster! :)
lol
really book? that's terrible!
i agree! i don't have much good to say about the public schools in the suburb i grew up
Afraid I don't have much respect for career advisors at school and uni - I think they have set goals or maybe sponsors, and that's it.
well, atleast you proved them wrong gwen :)
Gwen, they used to tell the really smart girls they might try becoming a secretay...
That's what my mum was told and she wasn't allowed to go to uni or college - I know she always regretted that.
no, i didn't prove them wrong i worked in fast food 8.5 years before getting into book business. but still, sheesh
At least you got out of it into something you enjoy.
ask me anything about pizza and i will tell you all the secrets LOL
I think that attitue towards women is awful. And it still seems to persist
but you doing something you love so eh, it doesn't matter how you got there..you did :)
yep, i am doing what i love, no thanks to the tweezerheads at school LOL
Gwen did you have a bookstore. or publish etc
done it all: self published, published by "real" publisher, book doctor (editor), bookstore manager (real store), online bookdealer (out of my tiny apartment)
WOW!!!
Do you specialise in any genre or just general?
wait, i haven't been published in ebook yet 8-)
at the end of the day we all have to go to school and learn what they teach, and we learn some things from it and some from life after we've left.it is up to us after we leave what we do.i learn't more from getting a job when i was 16 than i did from school and the job helped me grow up quicker and learn more about life
ditto liz gwen
Well said lilli - as a teacher I got more and more frustrated by what I was expected to teach at primary level, rather than what I (and many others) thought would be useful for the kids.
http://tinyurl.com/2qqmxx (one of my proudest moments, this article published in a tiny online bookdealer journal, sort of an ebook, but not a book)
Interesting, Gwen. I've put it in my browser to read later.
it's an old article, but the issues it describes are ongoing
Ok 15 left - ti4 to go and start the domestic stuff! Yawn! Have a good evening all and thanks for the chat. BBL.
i think with school liz, every child in primary is treated the same, as in year classes but not alla re on the same level, but saying that i was a governor in a primary school and would help the 'best in class read and the weakest ones, but there was never any help for the bairns in between and i was told that the best could be violin players, actors, etc and the weakest needed help, and i argued that time and time again saying that the middle ones could be better with help, and the weakest ones could do better with more help
great artice Gwen! I marked it to reread in depth, learned a lot, Thanks
True, liili - I regretted the loss of nature walks and similar stuff and just learning about the world around them. Became so much more difficult to react impulsively to the mood of the class.
you're very welcome, saanichcat!
But I really do have to go now.
i've writen it down gwen and will read it later
bfn liz, i only have 1 word so will still be here later :)
are you going to do books for e readers gwen?
Good article, Gwen - thanks :)
i'm working on a bunch of manuscripts right now and hiope to do them all as ebooks as well as PODs (that's print on demand)
thanks, lizlin!
sadly i must admit that i buy more books for my tablet than paperbacks, but i have arthritis and weak wrists and find holding books in bed more difficult that holding my tablet.so i'm looking forward to reading your stories on my tablet
no stories, per se, i'm strictly nonfiction 8-)
but one of my ideas, half-written, is a short piece on why the beatles are such a big deal -- for people who think the beatles aren't
which is still nonfiction, but is popular culture, a much broader audience than most of my stuff
i just signed up for a free online course about the Beatles at coursera.org...
hello, peeps
i actually prefer non-fiction books gwen but i do read non aswell
cool, penquis! i make no claims for originality for my book, only claims for conciseness 8-)
well, i have grayed out everything except the middle row. my grid loks like a mayo sandwich on pumpernickel
i just went on to yahoo, to look up your website Gwen and a news article grabbed my attention.apparently haribo will stop selling some of their liquorice sweets in Sweden and Denmarkbecause they have been called racist.they are apparently in the shape of ethinic masks from African,Asian and Native American art.we've just come back from a African island which sells thier masks for tourists to buy so i don't see why it would be racist.liquorice is always black and apparently they have sold this for years
that's something that if daniel tosh hears about it i bet he will feature it on his show
my website is on my profile, no need to use a search engine 8-)
daniel tosh?
well,l he's an american, does a tv show on basic cable (i think) so you maybe never seen him. once in a while he does a bit called "Is It Racist?"
oh ok
but him main focus is on running funny video clips he finds on the web, and doing sick jokes about them
sometimes i think thinks are blown out of all proportions and we are too much the health and safety, racist and sueing world now
http://tosh.comedycentral.com/ there he is
the candy might not be racist so much as the packaging, the advertising, or something like that
like, what was her name, the tv chef who said something racist, and instead of apologizing, acted like what she said was perfectly okay
paula dean
yeah, her. ugh. LOL
there goes that empire
apparently it is just the Scandinavian countries that don't like it and they also banned tin books from 1 out of 10 libraries
hi ru :)
unless Chika-fila needs a consultant
hi lillian
*tin tin
nice to have you back around
nice to see your goat face too :P
*bleat*
is tin tin racist, or something like that? (admit I'm not too familiar with them, even though we had some at my store back in the day)
Rin Tin TIn is a racist?.. what to other dogs?
then again, i never though jar jar was racist, just effing annoying LO)L
did he offend a bichon or something?
i think it was to do with the 'el congo' one, where there was a black man
or worse yet a poodle?
well, dumping on racist celebrities is one thing, but banning books is something all together different and i'm agin it
UNO
MAS
sirens blazing, finito
e-beers for everyone! LOL
well done BDG
i just think we are too over the top now on all sorts of subjects and making more of them than what there is! but as i said it is a sueing world now, sadly
i agree
Yay!! wtg gwen!! :)
i'm in favor of banning Danielle Steele books however
cheers!! :D
i was proud to work for a bookstore owner who believed as fiercely as i do about selling "offensive" books right along with "tame" ones
fierce and Librarian don't go together :D
we sold Mein Kampf and the Anarchist Cookbook, for example, books which you can't find in a lot of other stores, or public libraries
edgy
librarians seem timid but if you try to take away their books, you'll get a reaction all right LOL
:D
hands off the huckleberry finn! LOL
time to make dinner.. see you later..
i think we should all be able to choose what we read or buy without being taken to court over it.there is a place and time for everything and as long as certain things aren't pushed into peoples' faces then so what, but now if you sneeze in the wrong place you get sued for spreading germs...it's got way beyond normal!
enjoy ru :)
i want to read the anarchist cook book
am diving in so others can chat :)
soory if I offend anyone.....but....seems to me you can only do or not do what people fight for.....whether they are right or not. I don't push my beliefs on anyone, but I have a right to them. BTW I have high standards and I think great beliefs, I hope when my life ends that people remember me for holding true to my beliefs while loving all.
good night and have a great day tomorrow everyone.
i'm off to make dinner too. later all
night ana and i agree.in todays society someone is always going to offend someone, whether we mean to or not.i seem to do it alot, sadly
Evening all.
May I please have a clue for ho6-24? Thanks
hey everyone
((((((((LILLIANN!!!))))))))
hey all
Hey there, stiddie.
hi peach and rows, sorry i, only have a ho6/24 peach
hey peach and rows :-) down to 56 and fading fast
((((((stid)))))) lovely to see you. how are you and family?
i only have 33 words :D
hi all!
The ho6-24 is the one I need....thanks.
we are well enough, lilliann -- pics of house progress up at my site (screen name) dot com. I think we will get drywall by the end of the month!
i went out with hubby and had a few drinks as i ahve a head cold and couldn't get rid of headache so i drank more than normal to get rid of it...stupid i know, so typing slowly and words are hiding:)
ho6/24 is the "maid of" at a wedding, spelled the British way
how are you all? other than the headache (I had a bad one today also)
hi sue, lovely to see you. i haven't seen you for ages.how is frank doing. well i hope
thanks for ho 6/24
hi
((sue))
Dang, you're good, Molly. Thanks
yes, he is fine, lilli, except now he is getting a lot of overdue dental work, which he doesn't like much
Hi there, pen.
Hey, sue.
ty molly, and soory peach i meant ho6/21
hey penquis
That's OK, lilliann.
could I have a clue for the bottom row E please?
think gasoline, harry -- the Valdez oil spill but misspell company
ex4/9
and its plural
I do think your remedy for head cold is excellent....enjoy! LOL I would love to do the same thing.
ty! nbt :)
go harry go!
90 to go - there's no way I'm even close to finishing tonight
es6-21 please.,......thanks
we're fine thanks stid. i will definitely look at your house pics.i'm glad everything is going well.hope you can move in soon :)
I hold you in very high es6
high regard, peach
Thanks much, Harry and stiddie.
I hope we can too, lilliann! :-D At least I know that it will be before summer. I will have a whole summer to enjoy my gardens again.
sue, i'm so glad he is doing well but sorry about his dental work, i know he doesn't like dentists, but hey, after everything he's been through, it should be a doddle.give him hugs from me :D
will do, thanks lilli!
and you are right, he hates the dentist, and didn't go for at least 10 years, hence all the work needed
well, as soon as soon as you're settled int he house stid i expect to see your lovely garden
who doesn't sue?. i'm the same as frank. i had a bad dentist about 20 years ago and didn't go for years and now have less teeth and have to grin and bare it when i go, but i did it for the bairn when she was younger so i could get her to see a dentist.i miss my old dentist from a couple of years ago but i can't go as it is not wheelchair friendly and hubby not about to get me up the stairs in my chair so the bairn and i go to a more commercial one which is basically get loads in and out...money orientated!! and i hate it so does the bairn
ty harry
we were able to find a good dentist for him - he is gentle and has a lot of different painkillers he can use, including gas, so that is good - it's going to be a few months of going every week, though, to get it all sorted out
just read back, i'm a bit slow tonight!! lol peach
It's OK to be slow, lilliann.
once he gets used to him sue, he'll be fine. i was like that with my old one and i miss him and don't feel so relaxed with the new one but saying that now we don't see the same dentist as it is a practice so i never know who we will see, which is what i don't like.our old dentist knew everything about us and me not being comfortable with dentists and he always asked me how i was doing.i miss him, and that's saying alot for a dentist..lol
hi all
Hey there, jmc.
here just for a few minutes. . .
hi jmc
he's ok while he's there, but his mouth is sensitive and hurts for many days afterwards; that's the part he really doesn't like, and there doesn't seem to be much to do for it. He has painkillers to take but they only do so much.
hi jmc!
hi
aww, that's a shame sue.i can understand why he doesn't like going then.is there nothing that will help the pain...something herbal maybe? clove oil?
hi pen :)
very warm drinks. . .
hi... :o)
nbt
haven't tried herbal things; with the celiac disease he has to be so careful
hi pen.. . i just got here too so thought you were replying to me. . .
warm brandy especially ;-)
and he's on a couple of medications now, for ADD and depression, so he can't have as much single malt as he might like :-)
i was...
haha i guess i am confused as usual. . . *waves*
oh, i don't know much about celiac disease so don't know whether clove oil is good or not, i just know it's good for tooth ache
oh poor thing.. . . well still warm drinks help. . .and cold ones if he is not sensitive to cold after the dentist. . .
warm would be better than cold, I think. I may suggest a bit of single malt anyway.
clove oil is good. . . cloves have no gluten
Single malt: Cure all for everything
well if he warms it he will get more bang for the bucks. . .
i will stick to Jack thank you!
there you go :-)
at my work they have already figured out I like jack
nice, jmc :-)
hi molls! *waves*
i like a hot chocolate made with milk and 2 cap fulls of tia maria when i'm feeling down or poorly but i don't know if he will drink that or good with his medication
53 to go and I'm at my wall...
Hi folks ... logged on just in time to see single malt. My favorite beverage :-)
sounds yummy, lilliann...
hi
hi harry, I'd be at a permanent wall if it weren't for lickety and morewords
hi origami
i can't stand whisky, which is a shame as hubby gets very expensive ones that are sort after for alot less. he gives them to my dad for christmas presents
I can't decide if I should visit lickety or call it a night
*hands harry a keyhole saw*
I kinda like the idea of hot chocolate with Tia Maria , myself. Sounds good on a cool night. Low calorie of course.....
hot chocolate is good with peppermint schnapps also
ofcourse pida..:)
it does pida. . . I have found jack not so good in hot chocolate but brandy is dandy. . .
would you rather have a sledge hammer harry?
it is pen, which is strange to me as tia maria is sort of coffeeish and i can't stand coffee
fireworks, finally!
whoo hooo uu!
Hey, congrats, sue!!!!!
Congrats Sue....WTG
i've never tried peppermint schnapps sue. i will see if we get that here
congrats!
yay!!wtg sue!!! :D
hi origami
snapps is austrian so i would think you could lill
schnapps . . . forgot a few letters
okay i think i will wander off. . . 119 left. . . maybe back later. . . *waves madly at everyone*. . . .bye all. .. *poof*
we do get schnapps here and i know we get orange but i don't normally drink it, i only ever have it in a chocolate occasionally
later jmc
bye jmc, tc :)

monet
oops ... maybe there's single malt in the penalty box.
there's always something there origami
Don't think you go to PB, origami. Good word, but not in grid. I believe that is the way it goes.
change the first letter and you have a word!

L, maybe you just need to drink more. : P
Heyas kids ..
hi
that's what i meant molly.when i go out with husband when he's home i have a few drinks.sadly he's not home much or i'd babble quicker and type better :)
hi tor
that is the only time i go out for an evening is when hubby is home
hi torg and molly
no, a bottle of whisky a night is enough molly :P
You're probably right, L. Moderation and all that.
you know when you type something and wish you could take it back...well, that's me most of the time here...if only we could delete our chat
is your icon suppose to do that molly? as in lovely baby and then go on your icon and lovely older lady?
my windows crashed and when i restored, molly's baby became an old lady!....didn't know that much time had passed, lol....
it's funny if it is but i know it's not suppose to be like that
they age quickly nowadays penq :D
guess so!
don't we all :)
so ru, how's life?
life is better lillian.. thanks
any wines you can reccommend/i seem to do better with alcohol.
wines for what.. just drinking?
not that i drink loads but i do like a dry white wine
red or white?
as in here i meant and i was only joking
ok..lemme think.. what's the budget?
a fiver
or less
hmmm domaine bernier Chardonnay. in England not too much $$
i know, i'm a cheap skate
is that under $10 US?
yes pen
that would be $8.99 US
anything other than a chardonnay?...not fond of chardonnay...
is that easy to get here ru? i think i prefer a pinot grigio than a chardonnay. i don't like creamy or vanilla type wines
it's not creamy or vanilla
You might try the Gini Soave 2012 lillian
there aren't many pinot grigios worth a damn to be honet
oh ok, ty ru, i'm writing these down
g
honest
I drink the Gini around the house all the time..it's delicious and goes with everything or by itself
suave genie....i might even remember that one...
oh, is there not.so what would you suggest for me? i don't like vanilla at all.as i've got older i prefer a drier wine , a bit fruity but not overly sweet
you can find it penq..it's fantastic
Don't forget to rub the bottle to get your three wishes, Pen.
i am going to look tomorrow.. :o)
yes, molly!
can i get it here ru? and i get most of my wine from the supermarkets
it would be in supermarkets lillian
GINI
I buy mine in suermarket all the time
dhould set you back about $12 US
i have seen soave and the supermarkets do their own, but i've never boughtthem
sounds good...
what alcohol content is that ru?
12%
not really alcoholic
ok,ty ru
great with fish, pork, chicken, salads, cheese etc
12% not alcoholic?
15% is alcoholic
12 is normal
we go upto13% alcohol here, which i suppose must be the most?
no.. 17% + for still wine over 20% for port
oh no, obviously not
and sherry
see, i wouldn't class sherry as wine
it is wine
or port
can you explain the difference to me then please
port is a fortified wine
hey joso...long time no see...
hey pen, had computer probs for a while
They pour brandy into port
hi joso, lovely to see you:)
Sherry is fortified too
good to see you toolil
i know martini is a fortified wine. i used to drink that when i was younger
glad to see you back, joso...
nice to be here
so what is the difference between a fortified wine and wine, or spirit?
V
Wine just has natural alcohol based on its sugars and fermentation
fireworks . i'm in love. new puppy today for my grandkids….so sweet and snuggly
during fermentation they add a neutral favor brandy to it to halt fermentation, keeping it sweeter and upping the alcohol content
Fortified wines have added neutral spirits or brandy
Spirits are distilled at higher proofs
Yay!!wtg dorens :)
congrats, doren...
what's the puupy dorens?
Nice siren

Doren...

I like the story of brandy more, originally was supposed to like OJ from concentrate, distill, transport, add water then sell. but when it arrived they said this is fine, why water it down.
that's interesting, joso.....didn't know that...

821 would be a riot.
If just to see the reactions
821 we'd have to go to Lickety excel :D
now I have a cold :( and I am hoarse from coughing last night.
I don't think 800+ would be possible
some people would be reaching for their blood pressure medicine :D
we had a 744 nef
