I am well, thank you, although disheartened by the sound of rain yet again. Dempsey is also well, he got trimmed yesterday so is looking sleek and smelling good!
yeah, no winter at all here either. Eternal autumn without the lovely colours. Yay for Dempsey! So nice when you can bring him indoors without holding your nose.

He's an indoor dog most of the time, but he loves his runs in a local park. His hair just soaks up and retains water to an amazing degree.

Liz,t when we first had a dog, my husband insisted that it would be outdoors most of the time and only be in the house for a limited period at night. Then the next dog managed to be outside and night and indoors during the day. This one just rules the roost and husband is the worst at indulging him.

choccy labs - I keep hearing a lot about them the last few months - they have the 'dumb gene' one owner was telling me (unlike the OK golden lab he also had)
I wouldn't describe her as dumb - not at all!
I think they have the reputation of being livelier than the blacks or goldens.
I seen on tv that these people had a dog afraid of climbing the stairs and it would climb them backwards---so big dog, looked like a greyhound type
And they all love their food! (Labs, I mean)
I can't believe thay are dumb either as my lovely vet used to breed them and he is tres smart
We grew up with a dog - fine on stairs unless they were slats. He hated those!

Terra gets meat now and is happy and healthy as can be.
Terra is slim, but that is because of our portioning him. Or he'd be big as a house. The vet is always very happy with him when she sees him. Always exclaims how slim he is.
Being fit and healthy is the most important thing.

my father was great mentally 9mths ago and could get around. now after a stroke, that the hospital in NY said he didn't have but a recent MRI showed he did, he is quadriplegic and has bad dementia. worse of all, he know it.

For several ye5 after residency I could not return to the NICU or PICU (to see patients from our practice) because I recalled kids that died in specific beds.
