My budgie obviously goes through a moult (feather drop) about once every 2/3 months but only loses his bigger wing feathers a couple times a year. Thing is he has one on his wing that is sticking out at an angle. I thought it was a dropper but they usually fall on the day they start coming away from the body but this one has been like it for 3/4 days. I'm just wondering if he has knocked his wing and bent it instead? It doesn't appear to be bothering him though

ok kate thanks for yours. I think his calcium's ok, but he is about 9/10 years old. Very active though for his age. I constantly worry about him falling off the proverbial perch now he's of a certain age, but I have heard that they can live for sometimes 15 years or more so with his active behaviour I think he's here to stay for a little longer, bless him!

Kate I did some research online about feather drops and it appears all budgies seem to differ. Some can moult once a year, some can moult a couple times a month (in rare cases). It's horrible for him when he does moult, he hates it, but it doesn't last long thankfully

No his skin and feathers all seem okay. Like I said it's not affecting him - it was the first day I noticed it, but he seems to have grown accustomed to it now, so it probably was a bent feather. He probably knocked it out of shape. As for the frequency of his moults - it's probably about once ever 2 months or so, depending on the weather, funnily enough. But like I said he is fine within himself, very active for a 9/10 year old, and very happy and mischievous

i've always been lucky with pets and longevity. Had a cat that had feline aids and was run over 4 times, fell through a plate glass roof and lived until he was 24, two different dogs that lived until they were 18 and 19, a goldfish that lived for 23 years. I often accredit it to the love I give them

Am totally against real fur products. The fur looks much better on the animals God put them on!
what about other body-gripping traps (padded plate, snares...)
These traps all end in maiming or slow painful death. And imagine being a pet owner whose dog gets caught in one. These barbaric people that place these need to be banned from public lands!
Even our wildlife refuge placed snare traps in water areas to trap beaver, supposedly to aid wetlands for ducks, the poor beaver drown.
Yeah, I know how the traps work -- but several years ago there was a bill floated here to ban "all sorts of traps" and it was so vaguely written that it could be interpreted to ban live traps for mice.

OK, my goal of mediocrity (nbt, nbs, all ≥ 7s) is met. For those of my vast fan base who don't know, I'm recovering from a total hip replacement, rendering me totally hip, I suppose. Anterior approach surgery, on my feet six hours post op. I'm about 2 1/2 weeks post-op, getting around with a cane, owe much to my two great kids and to friends who visit and bring yummy health food. And to the über-friendly Babble community. Later!

what i like about family feud is that the "correct" answers are coming from 100 ordinary people, so it's way more fun to try to guess what they are
like, there was a measurable spiderweb inside the computer tower so i got out my paintbrush and nailed it (it's a clean, dry paintbrush used only for dusting and stuff)
why am i dusting with a paintbrush? because i'm a bookdealer, that's why 8-)

She did not want to see a doc or go to the hospital all of this time. She is so stubborn and she distrusts doctors, even though I am one.
