Hi all :)
oooh. halfway and NBT! now for NBS...
hey liz!
Hi stid - how are things with you?
Things are winding down now Liz -- less than a month now until the end of school for me.
How are they for you?
Good here, thanks. That year of school seems to have flown by :)
hello everyone :)
Hi Nan
hey nan
yes, it has, liz -- I am looking for a position for next year already. It's a good thing to be a teacher, though I admit that this particular time may be more challenging than some.
Do you not want to stay at your current school or was it a 1 yr contract?
just peeked back in (I keep wandering off) -- sorry I missed une (yes, it's been my bday), and hi ruru, liz, nan, mixi, torg...
Hi Jilli :)
Happy birthday, Jilli. Hope you've had a wonderful day :)
I'd have nbt if it weren't for that lone R on the right.
Thanks, Liz -- it's been fun.

Hello Stid!!
sorry I wandered off Liz -- it was a one-year contract, AND the funding for my position has been cut. So a miracle could happen and they would hire me back. OR I can use the excellent references they are giving me and find a "continuing" contract somewhere. I am half hoping for both. I really like this school.
Saanich, how is Cleo? My mother's dog is so enjoying the warming weather... the local cats seem pretty happy about it, too -- or did you have rain today?
np, Stid - lots of luck with the job search. What's with your house now - is it finished? I've been very out of touch with your news!
no, house is still in progress. In fact, that is why I wandered off. I am uploading some pics to use on the blog. Will have a finished post in about 20-25 mintues.
minutes.
Clio was put on a diet and and has run all her weight off in the sun/cloudy weather
I am really hoping to move in before June begins. But then, I was hoping to move in before March, before April, before May...
ground to a halt at 133 -- good night all :)
I'd love to see the pics.
Sleep well nan :)
Hopefully it won't be long now.
Stid, when you move, it will be the right time.
Very true.
I can hardly wait to see the place!

I've been following your blog, stid -- that house is going to be fabulous!

cooee and g'day from me
Such an easy one too!
Hi Rose. Good to see you. How's your day been?
cooee rose!
nice. church, followed by grandson's footy match, followed by some retail therapy, followed by lunch, then home. and you?
okay, sorry I vanished again. The post is up. A few pics are blurry... I have more to post tomorrow and Monday -- the kitchen has all kinds of pots and dishes being washed (we got our possessions back from the cleaning service -- they didn't clean much...); and Grant's senior project in the front yard really looks like something now!
~~~~~ Happy Birthday Jilli~~~~~~
hey again rose!
Regular Sunday - domestic day - cleaning and shopping. But also had some fun putting together some CDs of music, for when we travel and hire a car without an iPod link.
thank you rose!
*giggle* hey again stiddy. can't wait to check the pics out
Stid, can I see your blog somewhere?
yes. my screen name dotcom, liz
gonna check out stid's blog -- Liz was asking if it's public
Thanks, Stid, I'll check it out later.
I put a "more" link so all the pics don't completely bog down people who visit the site.
Found it! So will definitely check it out. Funny how computers think for you. I'd barely finished your screen name, when it suggested your blog!
:-)
*mysterious mama voice* I am everywhere... roflmao
lol
good grief, stiddy, i hope not. where were you two nights ago?
let's see ... two nights ago I was tiling the <unspeakable> *mutter mutter mutter* shower stall.
Also three nights ago, four nights ago, last night, tomorrow night...
Love your kitchen :)
whew!! i mean, oh were you dear? terrible place to be.....lolol
Thanks liz -- it is HUGE. But we cook a lot so it will be perfect.
back from the stidblog -- even more fabulous. Those who haven't seen it, scroll back to the kitchen. I envy it -- and that shower -- wow!
I like jill's kitchen though. It is nicely set apart from the main living space (ours is so out in the open) but still close to guests, and big enough to work in but not so big you need a phone to talk across to the other side.
Your kitchen reminds me of my SILs kitchen. I love the space. Ours is also large but I'd kill for gas to cook with!
stid, it is amazing what you have achieved, dear, considering all the set-backs you have gone through. it looks truly amazing.
My kitchen needs re-doing, and I find it too cut off from guests, but I'm $tuck with it.
Well, it's propane (not quite as hot as methane) but better than electric.
LOL jill -- I "hear" you on that one!
* faints * himself has just walked through to have a shower....his second for the day. it takes a team of wild horses to get him to have one.
I am already making a mental list of upgrades, re-dos and improvements for later on...
wow. Is it that hot?
I'm with you about gas cooking, Liz, but don't have it.
i love gas cooking, in all forms. and when the kitchen is done it will be entirely gas (natural )
We'd have to cook from a gas cylinder if we wanted to cook with gas. There's no natural gas here.
not really, stid. he's been out, cleaning the gutters. it appears every tree within a forty mile radius has dumped it's leaves in our gutters.
Ditto, Liz
we have our propane trucked in, liz -- a 500 gal tank in the backyard provides heat, hot water, cooking... and power when the electricity fails in the winter.
watch out for gutters GR
Huh! Would he like to clean ours? They haven't been done for a while.
ah, ya4 work will do that to a person -- First thing Grant and Tom do when they get back from their outside activities is shower!
yeah, i know, they will gut you every time....lol
so how long would a 500 gal container last - approx.?
It used to last about 4 - 6 months (less use in the summer of course) at 80% full (the most they can fill it legally). I expect it will be even less usage now with the upgrades to radiant floor heat and all. Although... the fireplace might tempt me to use more than I might otherwise.
Interesting. Might be something to consider one day.
liz, that's close to 1900 litres.
Especially because we need to install some sort of heating in our living area - cheaper than reverse cycle air conditioning, which is what we use now - not that we use heating that much in a year.
Thanks Rose - gals are also OK for me, coming from the UK.
well, you wouldn't liz, not up there. does your unit have ' home leave ' on it?
oh -- sorry I always convert the heat units, forgot volume conversion!
Home leave?
LOL I don't know what reverse cycle air conditioning is, unless it's like our "heat pump" systems in the states where they use the heat of the earth to heat the house?
We probably need heating on about 20 - 25 days in total - to take the chill off in the morning and at night.
yeah, a setting for when you are out of the house, or at night when you are in bed. it runs at a lower temp. but keeps the house warmish.
Reverse cycle air con can be set to a Heat option.
We have no heating system here Rose, other than the air con.
Last week was cold - down to 6 - 8 C at night. Back to about 13 C at night now.
How lovely that you don't need a heating system!
that's what we are using, liz. a reverse cycle unit.
But then WE don't need Air con
Gee -- we went with radiant floors because I am almost always cold in our climate (except about two weeks in September when I think that the north pole looks pretty good...)
We find that's fine, while it's on - but the living area is quite large and when it's turned off, it cools very quickly.
now the floors stay about 17 C (68 F) all the time and the whole house is finally comfortable. On the really hot days where it was over 85 here it stayed about 18-19 C. Loved it.
year yearn
My body has acclimatised to Queensland living! I used to laugh at people in hoodies and jeans in the winter - now I'm one of them!
Jilli's working the y's now everyone
Liz -- there are little propane fireplaces that can be both pretty and useful. We put one in our house for an additional boost in the main living space in the winter if we have guests who need it warmer.
at least until the ducted heating (gas) is put in, and that's not until after the kitchen is done, which is not until after we have emptied said kitchen and laundry, and gutted the rooms....
oh rose -- that is a LOT of work
But it will happen :)
oh de4 I did it again :-(
:D
Yes, Stid - we've been looking at that type of heating - we were going to do it this winter but will probably wait until next winter now.
oh, yeah....we are looking into having some-one do the whole thing from woe to go...
Pleased to hear that Don has given up on doing it himself.
some things are just better left to the pros... not because we "can't" do it, but because our time is far too valuable. :-D
* giggle * thank heavens for small mercies, liz. didn't want to be entirely without a kitchen of some kind for 3 ye4s
That's another upgrade I want to do -- my gas fireplace doesn't have a remote and is a pain to light -- now they are available with remotes which light them with a mere click, and control the heat given out.
Perish the thought, Rose!!!!
Go for it, Jilli - you don't want to get cold.
FWs
WTG DIZ!!!!
Oh, I don't get cold -- baseboard electric heating is the main thing.
Congrats, Diz.
YAY dizgrannie!!!
ty
Hooray for diz the whiz!
see you all tomorrow at the flip.
enjoy your evening,diz
see you tomorrow
Have a good evening, Diz.
I am outta here too -- down to 84 words and more tilework to do tomorrow. enjoy the rest of the weekend, all! *poof*
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, STid.
Did I mention I got nbt, nbs, and nbg some time ago? But not even halfway yet and heading for bed. Goodnight stiddy -- take care of yourself -- so glad your guys are helping.
WTG Jilli. Sleep well.
And goodnight all ...*poof
night, jilli. hope you sleep well, dear. nice to have you back on board.
Greetings Friends
Hi Pugs :)
How are you today?
Hi Liz
I'm good and you
Good thanks.
you get a break from your busy schedule at last?
Sort of. Things are still busy but today was a domestic day - cleaning and shopping and I had fun this afternoon compiling some music CDs for when we travel.
swamped with red boxes-----------how soon are you leaving out
I'll e mail you about that - don't put that sort of thing in public!!!!
okay
We're lucky though because when we do travel, we have people staying here.
I wish you loads of good times
thats good
Just sent you a very short e mail. But have to go now. Been at this for 2 hours - have 45 left, which I'll tackle later.
Definite babble blindness now!
alright Liz--take care and bye
You too Pugs - I'll probably have my iPad nearby and might make the occasional comment! Take care and hugs.
back in, hello and {{hugs}} miz pugs
hello and hugs Rose
did you have a good day
quietish, church, then deacon's footy match, some retail therapy, lunch, then home. and yes, i sat down for most of the service...lol...;-P
have you had a good night? i don't think you answered me the other day about the headaches. are they still happening?
good for you! I guess you get a big gold star then for doing good-lol
Rose, I took your advice on that which I wrote you about and I had a visit last night and it was as if nothing happen---lol
i am so glad, de4. good on you...well done. do you feel more comfortable about things now?
yeah---lol
she even brought me a new blouse her daughter got her and it wouldnt fit her--she wouldnt let me pay her for it ---sometimes its so hard to figure out people-lol
may be she had a rush of hormones....you would understand that.
I dont know what it was--shes a few years older then me
ah well. the saying goes...least said, soonest mended. it would seem that it is right.
what was your message on at church today
I was watching a pastor on tv and they were stating that one out of two marriges end in divorce but couples that prayed out loud together the rate was one in ten-thousands---isnt that something?
the sermon was about how thomas had to ask where Christ was going, and Phillip asked Christ to show them the Father. from John 14 : 1-14. vicar said they must have been palm-forehead moments for Jesus. when he had spent 3 ye4s teaching them those exact things.
Ours is suppose to be on Angels today--so I'm kind of looking forward to that
that should be interesting. and amazing facts re praying aloud together. don and i pray together every night.
you are so lucky Rose
one day i will email you and tell you our love story. it goes back 30 ye4s.
I cant wait :)
did your first hubby attend church with you
he did, but wasn't baptised/confirmed until our first boy was born. it was very strange. straight after his confirmation, he rushed out to the toilet and was violently ill, like something evil was trying to get out.
thats weird--for sure
he didn't practice what he said. we would leave the church, and before we were 50 feet from the church, he would be reaching backwards, punching and pinching the kids for some supposed infraction during service.
just attending dont make you one with God
no wonder my eldest hates religion. he would remember that.
I can see that and thats sad
the two younger ones, well simon worships openly, and josh at least believes in the creator god, but doesn't formally worship.
He may when he gets older Rose
at least he hasn't slammed the door.
thats a plus
good morning all
g'day my dearest sprite.
good morning Sprite :)
xoxox. are you good this day?
*hugs rose and pugs* Hello my dear friends.
did you get all rested up yesterday
yesterday was a lovely day :) Just got up after a night of bad dreams, will feel better soon.
sprite, i finally got out and bought my new dressing-gown. it's made of polyester polar fleece, but is very light, so i won't get too hot. it is, of course, the most luxurious shade of deep purple.
oh wowwww sounds wonderful
*gentle hugs and butterfly kisses* fell our love pouring over you, dearest.
*feel* for gosh sakes
hehehe :) Thank you.
as Rose says
yeah, let the newsprint show up on that colour.
*hugs her friends again* So nice to start my day with you guys.
* smooooch *
I love purple too. And I love to combine it with deep deep red.
*giggle* sounds like a marvellous colour combo for a fuschia. are you pa4 fuschia, sprite?
I think so. I may be channeling my inner fuschia.
*chuckling to myself*
and how are you today, my friends?
I just found the 8 by myself!
did i tell you we have blossom buds on our decorative pe4, and my cecil brunner rose is trying to flower, yet again? we haven't got to winter yet!!
oh wow, good job pugs!
I'm good
i'm good
no you didn't, rose, sounds so good :)
good to hear, darlins.
i think winter will be on a tuesday this ye4...
it might, grin
yeah Rose was real good for once--lol
we are gonna slide straight from autumn/fall and into spring.
do you have to wear a coat in winter there Rose and hats and gloves and boots-lol
about the same as here in the netherlands, rose. We didn't have a winter worthy of the name either this ye4.
not me, but the rest of the population does...lolol
no you guys sent it all to us-lol
next year is all your guy's turn
can't think of any where more deserving, can you sprite?
hehehe pugs deserves the best of everything
and its still ccold--even had a bit of frost last night
geez thanks guys :)
yeah, yesterday she kept trying to give worzel her red boxes, really generous of her...
poor pugs. Stuck in eternal winter. Shoot that groundhog next ye.
where is your son Rose
* kiss, kiss * pugs
all 3 are here in the same town as me.
I'm talking about your adopted one
things still okay with caya, Sprite
probably slept in...it's all frogface's fault. she probably kept him up late.
she is living it up this weekend. Went to a friend in harderwijk, then on to riding lessons, then on to another friend for bbq and another sleepover.
I dont like calling her that--just dont seem right or nice
omg found the 8 as well. Woot.
yay, caya, you rock girl!!
good for you too-lol
she said it helps her to keep occupied. No time to think. So I am letting here, even though I can see it is tiring her out too much.
I bet it does
Rose, I cant believe you adopted him and not Sprite and I--lol
yes I have to say it is good for me to be a weekend on my own. Except for the boy who drops in and out for food, lol. But he is low maintenance atm.
sprite, tired is good. she needs to be drop dead tired, dear. while her head gets around what has happened.
count your blessings on that-lol
we are sisters of the soul, pugs. No adoption needed. Closer than this is hard to come by.
true
right on, sprite
I know, rose, that is why I am letting her. She has to be able to follow her own wisdom in this.
and caya knows you are there for her, 100%. and that is very important for her to know.
Iam so glad the others stepped up and supported her--that was a big healing right there
it really was. And a friend from school called for her yesterday to invite her to another bbq, lol... she could choose and pick. I think that is indeed healing for her.
caya is so fortunate. a mother like you, and friends like hers.
yes she is
that is a beautiful thing to say. And she deserves all that, too.
and its great that she can come to you to talk too
you know what my mother was like...and i was never invited to a friend's home for any occasion.
that is what she said to me. That she knew, no matter what, she could always talk to us about everything.
God Bless her, i hope she heals rapidly.
wish we could have locked your mother in a room with my father, rose, lol. And you are invited to my home for anything and everything.
Rose, is Fang now out of your guy's life? You havent said anything about her for quite some time
thanx hun, and i know pugs wants me over there. hmmmm how to work this out. have to fly pugs to sprite's, and then fly all 3 of us to pugs'. yeah i can do that. just need to work out when.
strange you should ask, pugs. we haven't heard hide nor hair from her since MIL's death. apart from don's birthday party.
lol indeed, rose. And we need to kick the neighbours out of their house then, so we can find beds for you.
I have decided to go job hunting, hopfully tuesday
oh wowwww pugs! What kind of job?
did she come to the party then
np's sprite. book us into the nearest motel/hotel.
whatever I can find--not going to be too picky
awesome, rose.
what will you do about your sister when you are out working, pugs?
yes, pugs. we didn't have a lot to do with her. but we would have heard it all if we didn't invite her, and she found out. anything for peace, right?
for right now Im going to try for part time and she how that goes
I havent said anything but the mentalness is getting worse
sounds good to me. Am so proud of you, pugs. You are so strong. *hugs*
might be good for you to be away from it all for a couple of hours a day too, darling.
yay, pugs, re the job hunting. if it's right, you will find it. your sister is too sad.
thanks--just hope I can find something--jobs are not that easy to find and right now all the school kids are out for summer jobs too
red boxes again
pugs, lay it all in God's hands, darling. Just heap it up there and let go of it, and He will sort it out.
I think to start out Iam going to all the nursing homes and put in for housekeeping--I dont think my body will let me lift people any more
pugs, do you have a minder for her, if you do find employment?
no Rose
if I can get a few hours aday--that might work out
I have to do something to pay for these doctor bills
it sounds like the right way to go about it, pugs. Will pray for you.
thanks
pugs, dear....something has to happen, soon.
I think I would feel better too getting away from here for a little time and I like working
yes I think it will do wonders for your state of mind.
exactly, pugs. and now you understand why i have to get back to work. i have to get out of here.
I understand Rose
we never did not understand, rose. We do. We just ask you to take it really slow and pay attention to your body. You won't be helped by pushing it and then being stranded at home again for ages.
you do tend to over do it Rose--lol
what pugs says
*sigh* yes dearest friends.
I do hate reminding you of this but you are not 18 years old
we want you to be able to ride out with Don again and have adventures and fun. Rather than going to work, hurt yourself and sit home in pain and nausea.
i am watching a young man who goes around, administering music therapy to dementia patients. to see them become aware of his music is amazing.
good morning!!
helloooo ruby...xoxoxox
hi ruby :)
MORNING RUBY!
wow rose, that is special. I have once seen a movie about someone who administered, I think, parkingson meds to catatonic elderly people and got them back to talking and even dancing.
It was about 40F during the night and early morning and now it's actually hot in the sun. What a pleasure
could I please have the stats for the lone r
nice, ruby
yvw my de4 pugs
yes, sprite, the actor was robin williams and robert de niro?
yes, I think so. The movie was Awakenings.
yup, sprite
awesome movie, that
nice, ruby. i hope your day continues to be kind to you, de4
and sad too, they way they all reverted...
oh hell yes, it broke my heart, rose.
did we lose the chog?
I am getting red boxes now and then and have to keep refreshing the page
nope, still here. lol...watching the premiers of our states and territories arcing up with the new budget cuts.
how frustrating, pugs :(
have you read any of Oliver Sacks' books, sprite? He is one of my heroes
let me see, ruby. Am always so bad with names.
brb I need some coffee
Wife for a Hat, for example. He writes a lot in the New Yorker, but because he himself has had mental health issues, he writes with enormous compassion
yes, The Man who mistook his wife for a hat. And he wrote the book on which the movie was based as well, I see.
The Man Who Mistook*****
oliver sacks is one of my heroes too ruby
hi rolin
fireflies. Smooth grid today.
hello, rolin. Do you read the New Yorker?
hey sprite
no ruby i dont... but i have read all of his books
g'day rolin. are you good today, dear?
WTG SPRITE!!
*hugs* to you all, and may you have blessed day and a peaceful night.
He has a problem recognizing faces (!!) and used a lot of drugs in the 60's and 70's
Hi Rolan
im good granny and you?
xoxox, sprite. i hope you have a blessed day, hun.
yay sprite! It starts easy and then the jaws begin to clench
right back at ya Sprite--congrats and hugs
rolin, disgustingly good, considering...lol. no pain, which is always a plus.
that's how I measure, too, rose. If there's no pain, then it's already a good day!
absolutely...pain is the most debilitating thing
now....ask me tomorrow, same time...will have had hydro in the morning...
oh, for goodness sake. this so called expert is saying there is an alternative to oral opioids. i am allergic to tramadol, and already take the maximum of paracetamol and ibuprofen each day. hello??
i use a TENS machine, and am working in a heated pool to exercise my muscles. what else is there??
Hugs to all--going to try get in a couple of hours of sleep before service--take care--:)
When I get up, I can barely walk, sort of "lumber" like I weigh 200 lbs. The the paracetemol +codeine kicks in and I am fine and moving properly again
love you dearest pugs. enjoy my dear.
Can even walk the wayward pup
{{little pugs}}
good morning everyone
ruby, i can't use codeine as my body metabolises it too quickly, and i end up high as a kite.
{{crossy}}
yay....and here's crossy. xxxxx
((ruby))
howdy rose:)
I have the resistance of a very large man. When they gave me morphine in the hospital, they couldn't believe that I would stay awake
i have a nasty combination of high tolerance and poor breathing when put under
lolol, ruby. when one surgeon wanted to knock me out for a gastroscope, it was ditto for me. at the time i was less than 50kg.
I am really crossy but without the beard
may I plld have a nudge in the direction of the r on the right? and maybe stats (or a clue even) for the 8
hi all. I am just back from a 2 hour hike (not strenuous) in a local park. Learning how to identify and taste wild edibles. It was fun.
ty jes - another new one
I like the non-strenuous kind of walking, Peri. Those people who are "power walking" never look like they are enjoying themselves.
I have never tried power walking but I might. I meant that there were no high hills, just slopes and little hills. I am not a hiker. But I would get better if I did it more. It was a lovely day. This was along the Schulykill river and the whole area was mobbed. Boat racing and other things.
wr 5/22 -- this is english?!!!
power walking is hard on pedicures peri :D
most of the event with this and a lot of the groups on meetup.com cost money. this one was free.
I was wearing boots, silly
looking for the wr5/22
i love hiking. I no longer have the knees for power walking
i have actually seen the wr5/22 before, nan
need to take my time at it:)
*!* ta da *!* - ty for the help
probably mostly in this grid :)
yay nan!
yaa for cybernan!
wr 5/22: to twist something until the exess water is removed -- change vowel
What is meetup.com?
I monkeyed it, ty nan
*excess
on my way -- hagd everyone :)
it is something I found on line. Molly. I chose the Philadelphia one since that is closest to me.
No, I mean what is it? A dating site?
just type meetup.com in your browser and then select the city closest to you. No it is not a dating site.
there are many different groups, ie, hiking, wildfoodies, meditation, etc. I just went to learn something new and to meet new people.
wr5/22 scottish word used by Robert Burns apparently. bet you all knew that!
it does not cost anything to join meetup anywhere. some of the events do cost money tho
g'bye, nan!
it is just ways to meet new people and make new friends.
lol, there are no meetups within 1000 miles of where i am located:)
babble is safer:)
But will the moose hear him?
moose have great hearing
yup
that's why they're so cranky about people talking close up - it gives them headaches
46 to go and slow going...
a moose with a headache is a bad thing
Will crossy hear the moose' reply
i cannot speak moose.. well just the calls for hunting, but my conversational mooseze is a bit rusty
use Enable, that should help
lol, you never know with Enable
Enable loves obscure words and non-words. It will have moose words, trust me
would not surprise me at all
There you are then; problem solved
i mean with words like du4/6 ag 4/7, why should there not be moose lingo?
Not really
ty jaxx and Bugs
Bugs how is your foot/leg. Are you all recovered?
I wish I were peri. It has not healed because my body is rejecting the metal that they put in so now I am waiting for a hospital date to have it all removed!
Oh, Bugs, I am so sorry to hear that.
and then what happens?
I still have huge swelling, anything fron tinglling to pain all the time and I still limp.
:(
(((((Bugs)))))
I forgot what happened to you?
The surgeon says when they take the metal out I will have to be non-weight bearing and wear the boot cast thing for a while but not as long as before. This time we only need the soft tissue to heal itself and the bone to fill in all the screw holes.
Just slipped and dislocated my foot, then tried to stand on it and broke my ankle (the two leg bones at the bottom). Very dumb
yikes!
are you having a lot of pain?
Yes. Last time was a long tme off my feet because all the tendons and ligaments had to reattach and heal as well as the bones.
more discomfort than pain. I get migraines and compared to that it is not too bad.
Hello again Babbleworld! Hi to peri and bugsaw! Glad you are healing bugs!
What I am most worried about is that because of the unconscious limp my opposite hip is going out much more often! I am considering going to a chiropractor...
Hi Jilly. How are all the people in your world today?
that might help.
hi Jilly, a belated happy birthday to YOU!!
If you are in a lot of discomfort, Bugs, try acupuncture
Thanks peri....LOL
peri is being sympathetic which helps in itself. The best thing is that my husband is FINALLY fixing the back steps so I can get up and down into the house easier.
And bugs, my world is pretty darn good!
Good idea jaxx. I have never tried it and always wanted to.
Oh I'm dumb. I thought it was Jillibus's birthday.
Jilly I didn't realise you and Jilli had birthdays at the same time. Happy belated birthday to you!
glad to hear about the back steps being fixed, Bugs. You can e-mail me anytime.
Jillibus didn't you have a recent birthday? or am I confused?
We don't, mine was April 30th, hers was this past week.
Jilljill not jilibus peri
ooops. I meant Jillibus and she is not here
I love Mr Bugs very much but he sure is slow to get around to things. I have needed the steps fixed since January. He had 3 months before that to fix them. he is only doing it now because his sister-in-law needed her car fixed and he said he would do it. He thought about doing it every day for a long time and finally phoned her to find out she had fixed it and SOLD it a while ago. He was insulted until I reminded him about the steps..... today is the day :)
I suffer from migraine too. The hemiplaegic sort that mimic a stroke and they are Hell. You must be very stoical if you say the ankle and other bones are less painful than a migraine. My daughter slipped om ice a couple of years ago and did the same thing. She wasn't allergic to the metal but they made a mess of the op and she is still in pain. I sympathise totally.
jaxx I am sure the surgery was done properly. I can see that in the Xrays. It is the tissue all around my ankle and half way up the thigh that is bothersome. Then the swelling drops down to my foot and ankle area because of gravity. I still have to wear a shoe 2 sizes too big on that foot. I think that is adding to the limp too.
Bugs, it sure sounds like you have had a lot to deal with.
I feel badly for your poor daughter. At least I have hope that it will feel better one of these days! i will always have arthritis in that joint but it is much worse in my lower back so I guess it is relative.
My husband's motto is never do anything today you can leave for the next few years. If pushed he will start eagerly but always stops before he has completely finished. When he repainted the house he ran out of paint with about two sq yards to go. It was like that until the house needed repainting 10 years later.
LOL jaxx! That almost finished part sounds like me and the slow to get going sounds like Mr Bugs! Our whole house is a semi-wreck.
Bugs, are you on any pain medication? read the leaflet that comes with it. I read only last week that some meds cause the ankles to swell any way?
<---!!FW!!
yay for Jilly Jill!!
Mr Bugs' favourite motto is Start off slow and taper off.
YAY Jilly Jill!
YAY Jilly Jill!
My husband , bless him, is so laid back that he's almost horizontal. It can be useful sometimes in that he rarely panics but very annoying if you need something done at once.
I shall print that motto off and pin it on our noticeboard in the kitchen.
Sounds they they were separated at birth. I say my husband moves as fast as advancing glaciers.
Well done, Jilly.
I asked him once if a tsunami was coming and I screamed at him to RUN NOW! would he do it? He thought for a bit and told me I had better prepare to be a widow.
what a thing to say!
Your husband isn't a fisherman by any chance? My husband was a commercial salmon fisherman before he retired. he always went by how far the water came up his hand when he put his finger tips on the bottom. Time, no, tides? well now you are talking. lol
Pretty easy grid today. May not be on this next week...too much on my plate...studying for Pediatric Advanced Life Support class, painting shed and next weekend heading to Yellowstone!
that was when we were trying to get down island for our wedding peri and we had car trouble. He was so laid back I went straight to panic mode. It did make me laugh and I am much calmer now too
ok
I love Yellowstone Jilly. So much variety and wonderous things to see.
He has the patience of a fisherman but not commercially. He is a boat builder by hobby
FW!!
Your husband must have Devonian fishermen in his family tree!
Hurray for peri
WooT WooT WooT peri!!
ty bye for now
Oldest son working his 3rd season there. About a 6 hour drive from our house. But it's a 3 day weekend.
Bugs, I will send positive thought your way
YAY peri! I should be quiet now and get back to the grid. He is a Swedish speaking Finn jaxx.
Right Jilly I remember now that he is working in the park. So you are going for family more than experiences. I wish you all a happy time together.
So will I, Bugs, that a miracle happens and you get your easy access and that it is completed before that tsunami arrives. lol
Thanks Peri for all the good wishes. Some days are rougher than others and everythng helps
Oh, we'll have experiences! Yellowstone never disappoints!
Blessing to you all
Healing blessings to you bugs!
All that chatting and no spelling. Now it is gone midnight and my bed beckons. Take care all of you. Jilly don't work too hard and Bugs you will be in my thoughts. Peri, I hope to meet up with you tomorrow.
nice to meet you jaxx. I will be your way one day
I do hope so.
Good morning all :)
Good morning Lizlin
And thanks, Molly, for you Beatles clue for the de 6/24
Well hi there Liz.
Oooh...ty Molly
You're welcome Liz. I figured I had a slim chance of most people getting that since this is not a rock music crowd (for the most part)
Rock music is my fav!
Me too...especially 70's
Same here.
There was rock music in the 70's?
Oh ha ha
Only kidding, but rock was so overshadowed in the 70's and 80's by horrible bands and pop/disco musicians.
The Billboard Music Awards just started...talk about NOT rock music. UGH
PitBull needs a tuning fork
Billboard is a joke these days. All based on how many teenagers buy what recordings.
Just googled Billboard Awards - hadn't heard of it.
good evening everyone:). I am back to see if the last 44 words I need will show themselves:)
In the 1950s, Harper Lee moved to New York to become an author. Her 1960 novel To Kill a Mockingbird won a Pulitzer Prize, but aside from a few nonfiction magazine articles she's published since, she’s refused to write anything else—including a foreword for her lone novel.
My friend just had a baby girl and named her Harper
