Hi
hi worzel
Hi flo
{{hugs}} worzel, just emailed you, mate. and g'day flosey.
Hi mum. Yeah I just read your email and thank you xx It really has upset me that email, to be honest (not yours, lol, you know the one I mean) x
i'd like everyone to know that we have a cyber bully among us, here in babbleland. this twerp has denounced me as a friend, simply because of whom i choose to chat with. i WILL NOT BE DICTATED TO about who my friend's are.
lmao - twerp - now THERE'S a word I haven't heard for years!!
would never let even my parents dictate as to who my friends were....not going to let this twerp get away with it.
yeah * grin * very descriptive, isn't it?
May I please have a clue for gr9-66? Thanks
I always thought it was a Devonian word (Devon being a part of the UK). My parents always called me a twerp when I was little and being daft lol
quality of being gr5. or add loch **** monster to colour
Oh, Golly, thanks much, Rose
lol, peach.np's hun
speaking of friends, rose, I haven't seen the young woman who I believe has 4 girls, has she been playing?
such a sweet young mom
worzel, i have emailed my closest friends about this. i will not name the babbler, as it only gives them mo4 notoriety, and besides, it then becomes gossip.
flosey, you mean sarah, with 6 girls?
ah, that's right rose, do you hear from her?
yes, flosey. she's fine, as are the girls. sarah is very busy at the moment, with lots of stuff to sort out. she was here about a week or so ago? i think.
sorry I missed her, please say hi to her for me, if you are talking to her
Yes, Mum, I agree. The thing that strikes me is that they seem to think I'M the paranoid one, but, having trained in clinical psychology they are the ones showing classic signs of displacement sydrome. Still, moving on, let's just play the game, chat with each other, and actually be FRIENDS. I have a lot to thank you for Mum - along with Sprite, RuRu, Flosey, Frogface (my fiancee) and all the others who talk to me and accept me for who I am. Blimey, who'd have thought, eh, a chatroom on a game site turning into a social media warzone pmsl
i will, flosey...* makes note on to-do list *
thanks rose, and I'll watch for her to return
as a matter of fact i owe her an email. maybe later, now that i have blocked the cyber bully, i won't be so afraid of logging into my emails.
Funnily enough, Mum, the one I was sent went straight to my junk box which, to be honest, is exactly where it belongs!
oh my, this person has emailed you in person with nasty comments???
roflol, oh my, talk about kismet.
yes, flosey. for some time i considered them to be a friend, but in a private email, i was denounced as a friend because of those whom i choose to chat with. for goodness sake!!
Hold on here - you mean to tell me that someone from our game is trying to tell you tow who and who not to chat with. that's insane!
Another thing that made me laugh was the bit about me - ME - showing classic signs of stalking with some of the things I write on here - and then the chat log being shown in the email in great detail. Now THAT is stalking behaviour, in my opinion, because some of the chat log didn't even appear when this person was online, so they must have gone back through it somehow and searched for it. THAT creeped me a little!
*two
lol, dianne, exactly. not very pleasant.
Mum a quick question - I'm assuming you are the "old bitch" to whom he was referring? Pleasant man, I must say
ah well, pitty the poor soul, must lead a very empty life
i know mate, it's so rude to do that. ummmm, no worzel, that's in referral to another player, who the bully has been ranting to me about.
Oh Dianne, I tell ya girl, it all goes on in here lmao!
Has this person "bothered" any others that you know of?
oh ok Mum. Not that it matters, but I think NN really needs to get a grip and just enjoy the game - maybe take some Prozac or some wacky baccy and just chill out lmao (not that I'm condoning that kind of behaviour, but some people really need a little assistance!!)
*shaking head* it's so sad, because the bully is such a nice person, but allows this other facet to break through.
Hey, at least it gives us all something to yak about I suppose!
yes, dianne, quite a few others. and they of course shun their presence. i tried to be a friend, thinking that the bully just needs to let off some steam. but it has gone all out of proportion.
and worzel, please be careful in how you refer to the bully. try and keep it as neutral as possible, okay?
ok mum, soz xx
You mean to say that this person is e-mailing other in our game telling them how and how not to behave?
hi everyne
hi pink
good morning pink x
like i said, no obvious recognition does not allow any magnitude of importance.
hi flosey worzel gran rose
yes, dianne. and most of us could give this person about 20 years and still be older than them.
sorry, pink, darling. hello, sweetie
Well maybe it's time for you to contact Dr G about this.
On a slightly different matter - I don't like this grid lol
grannyrose how is work going/
*shrug* dianne our email addys are there. i don't think dr god can do much.
Dianne the thing is, like Mum (Rose) said, if we escalate this it just gives prominence to the person involved so it's not really worth it. To be honest the person hasn't upset us too badly, it's just slightly irking. Like all LITTLE annoyances once you ignore them enough they soon go away
neons
o my sorry
yep, got that one pink - any bigger words please? lmao
pink, very slowly, sweetie. fell in an emotional heap last week, and had the resr of the time off. returning to 1 hour only shifts this week, starting later to avoid peak hour traffic.
I am sure you are right, worz.
down to 41 here so I'm off to bed was a great weekend but travel is tiring, goodnight all
and who's the one with the psychology degree?
by flosey
Rose, how was the roast beef?
sleep well, dearest flosey. i hope you awaken refreshed, dear
ty rose
one hour really?
to die for, dianne. and himself cooked the potatos so nicely.
no degree, sadly, didn't sit the exam 'cos i was too wasted the night before
yes, pink, one hour. the whole idea is to get me used to my usual morning routine, get up, shower, dress, get in car, drive to work.
Does Don do most of the cooking?
sone
oh crap so sorry!
ook got it gr
drats worzel had that one lol
he does at the moment, dianne, as he removed the cooker just after we were married and never replaced it. just bought things like vegetable steamers, horisontal grill, you catch my drift.
I tell ya - i really do not like this grid at all!!
Why did her remove the stove?
i gave up about 3 years ago, and told him that i would not do any major cooking until he provided me with a kitchen to cook in.
can I pls have a clue for 4 th column lone 0
the stove, she was broken. and we were going to reno the area anyway. so i, stupidly, said, wait until we do the reno, and then we can convert to all gas cooking.
or4/4 - or & Te** of the D'Urbevilles
pink, os6/18
eeeeek no!!! T**S
Well right now you don't need to be standing on your feet in the kitchen. Maybe by the time you are ship shape he get the kitchen in order.
omg ignore me im on the wrong o altogether! That coffee obviously didn't work, did it? lol
lol ty both
hope so, dianne, i love cooking.
it should happen sometime this year. he has agreed to having a builder come in and do it
Hi all :)
hey liz, dear
how was gym?
Good morning liz x
tiring :( especially as we walked about 5 km this morning too! But it will pay off in the end!!!
Can't say I love going to the gym but I know it does me good.
and what a pretty end it is too
lol!!! didn't know you'd looked!
a very good morning, all
Hi Sprite :)
Good morning Sprite x
hey liz and rose *hugs*
hello worzel too
BRB need a smoke (filthy habit which I intend to give up in the next couple weeks) *mini-poof*
{{hugs}} my darling sprite.
where is our pugs?
haven't se4 her, sprite
Hopefully sleeping
she's not on-line yet.
answered your email, my darling rose.
sleeping would be good
I think I hit reply all on my reply - oops!
i saw that, thanx dearest. you know something, i feel really fr4 all of a sudden.
lol, Liz, np
It's always as you send it, you notice these things!
I can imagine, rose. Insidious, stuff like that. And it eats away your energy time and again.
i think we 7 are all linked anyway, aren't we?
yeah Liz, a fraction of a second too late to prevent it, grin
But, the thing to remember is that it's only words - hurtful as they can be. Still true friends are always there to love and support.
i know, i'm just sorry for that person. just think, living like that, thinking that everyone wants to destroy you
Sad too that they "want" to be so exclusively liked.
sad but poisonous. Good to be free from. Freedom cannot be overrated.
Poisonous if you let the poison seep in - and at times, that's too easy to do.
unable to share...that's usually an only child syndrome. but i know for a fact this person has a sibling.
As you said, liberty is good :)
not sure about any facts about that person, grin. Anyway... revenons a nos moutons... how is this grid treating you guys?
anyway, you get on with this grid. it's not too bad.enjoy
grannyrose, please don't spend a lot of time trying to understand hatefullness. You are much loved by those of us who are truly good judges of character.
Not liking it here - too many phantoms for me! 60 down and a hell of a lot to go!
Well said, bugs - and good to see you again.
Please keep talking to whomever you want when and wherever you want. That is liberty.
A-freakin'-men to that, Bugsaw
I just arrivevd in time to hear about bullying going on. The only way to end it is to ignore it. People can't argue with themselves.
thanx bugsaw. much appreciated, as all my friends are.
*pictures this person sitting in front of a mirror, going "You are betraying me by talking to me!"
Have you recovered from your leg surgery, bugs?
bugs, have spammed that person, closed my googletalk account with them. now i'm gonna get on with life, loving you all.
It does sadden me tho that some people seem to think that if they play the game, it means they are the boss of the game. I have played now for a few years and have seen this time and agaiin. You are full of caring and kindness granny so just hold onto that and "consider the source" as the saying goes.
Not a picture I want to keep in my head!!! But funny!
I am fefeling so proud of you grannyrose!
Yay Rose! Strong lady :)
bugs, did i miss something? you have had surgery?what? when? how?
Oh Lizlin I have not yet recovered the way I should have. It seems my body is rejecting all the metal they put in my leg to mend it so now I have to have more surgury to have it removed.
Oh Bugs :( You poor thing.
awesome, rose
omg Bugsaw, that is awful. Am so sorry healing isn't progressing the way it should.
A long time ago in November granny. I dislocated my foot and then tried to stand on it so I broke the leg bones down near the ankle. the bones, tendons and ligaments have all healed but the leg is still huge and bothersome. When they take the metal out it shouldn't be as long a recovery. I am waiting for a date
oh, bugs, you poor dear. not something to go through again.
have the bones at least mended ok?
When I start to feel sorry for myself I just think of you granny and all the misfortune you have had with surguries and more surguries and more misfortune etc and I keep on trucking, albeit with a limp!
yes sprite. the bones have been mended since January. When they take the screws out that hold the metal plates in place then I will have lots of holes in the bones. Apparently my body will fill these screw holes with calcium and all will finally be well.
Really hope that you don't have to wait too long for the surgery and that it helps.
Sprite - how's Caya? I read in the chog this morning that she'd been having a tough time.
me too. the nice thing about unviersal health care is that it is free but there are waits.
*giggle* us old gals have to hold each up. how do you think we would go in a three-legged race?
You'd win - of course!
If we didn't win we could swing our canes around and scare all the opponents ;)
Or knock them over.
or trip them up with the walking sticks, or they would fall over laughing...
Laughter is a good healer
Or you'd fall over laughing
it is late here and I must poof off to bed. I am glad I popped in just long enough to head to bed with thought of good friends who have terrific senses of humour on Babble. Too bad it is not a requirement.
Sleep well Bugs :)
Sleep well, Bugsaw, and may you heal quickly after the new op.
and sweet sleeps to all you dear people
lol, bugs, sleep well, dear. keep me up to date with news of your poor leg, please.
Caya is doing as well as she can, Liz. She has been keeping herself extremely busy this weekend, to keep her mind off things. Yesterday she said she is feeling better, more angry now than hurt.
all in the grief process, sprite, as you well know.
I like humour being a requirement for babble. Can we suggest it to drG? :D
That's good progress, Sprite - and she's lucky to have you as her mum.
I do, rose. Am so glad she is loyal to herself through all this. In the end, that is what will heal her most.
including laughing at yourself.
So very true.
sorry, that was inresponse to sprite's comment re a sense of humour.
Wish I knew why I was struggling on this grid - sigh :(
Yes, I know - and my response was to your laughing at yourself comment - very important!
i monkeyed some, nearly fell off my seat when they were accepted.
it looks like a no-brainer, Liz, but it is sneakily nasty. That is why :)
Hm! Definitely nasty for me.
laughing at oneself is one of the most important skills in life, I think.
Sorry for resurrecting the topic, but I'd like to add my tuppenceworth re cyberbullying. It's totally unacceptable. Hugs to all those who have been blighted. Returning to stealth mode....
*hugs Soodle* Wish you'd pop in here more often, we miss you :)
*giggle* soodle, you get back here right now, i need to give you a bug hug.
Lol! Open for hugs! :-)
oh, Liz, that plus the phantoms. Half the grid is a phantom today.
{{{{HUGS}}}} and lots of xxxxxx
Hugs from me to all who've experienced cyber or any type of bullying - not fun.
bullies should learn to get over themselves at some point. Let's put them into a big room together so they can bully eachother to their heart's content.
Yay! Half way.
and the last one standing? what do we do with that one?
Now that would be fun to watch.
yay, liz, nice job.
Send them to a deserted, very remote island - for life!
with a recording of????
10 people, berating them for what the bully had done.
Anything else would be too good for them. My vindictive side is coming out, methinks!
oooh, nasty, liz. i was thinking along the lines of someone reading one of dickens mo4 boring works, in a monotone.
*giggles* We are mama lions, Liz... don't touch our friends!
Too good for them, Rose. I know that with time you should forgive but that's something, in this particular instance, I find very hard.
nah. Ignore them. Best there is for people who are nonstop jumping up and down, yelling: "Notice me! Notice me!"
And no, don't ever hurt my friends.
lol, sprite, if you only knew....
you can't forgive if you haven't been angry in the first place
ooh, that smarts. put them in a group of people who completely ignore them.
rose, knew what? Tell me! :)
I've been angry! And over 10 years have passed. I don't wish harm but I can't forget or forgive.
how much i have been roaring, dear. like i said, i have been subjected to many rants.
Liz, being bullied is so intensely hurtful and damaging. I don't blame you one bit for not being ready to let go yet.
And yet, indirectly, my wonderful life now with my lovely hubby, wouldn't have happened without that situation.
oh, I know, rose. Or at least, that is what I thought. Always worried a bit about it eating up your energy.
liz, i am so sorry, dear. i was finally able to move on, and forgive my ex. not forgotten, but forgiven. one day, i pray you can move to forgiveness.
I hope that you're right Rose.
one day, Liz. And in the meantime, don't beat yourself up for still being hurt and angry.
liz, ditto with my life. it's sad isn't it? to achieve the happiness, we have to be devastated first.
No, I won't. Hubby won't let me!
good for him :D
Yes it is sad, Rose. OK - disappearing for a while - hubby's got another meeting tonight, so early dinner. Hopefully that's the last meeting for a while.
daily thought when praying: "Thank you for teaching me to appreciate my current love."
Hope to catch you later, but if not, hugs (also to Pugs, when she appears).
69 left - a good number!
*hugs Liz* Have a lovely dinner and evening.
greetings friends
yayyyy there is our pugs. Hello darling.
night, liz. enjoy your evening, dear
hehehe Liz, good number indeed. Not when eating though.
Hi and hugs everyone
whoot, whoot. {{hugs}} miz pugs
omg....lolol....depends on what you're eating, sprite
how are you today, pug?
how is all my beautiful friends
roflolllll rose! Errr yes, indeed.
I dont know yet I just got up --lol so far so good :)
oh, my. is my face red? absolutely...did i say that out aloud?
am fine today. So far no noise explosions outside, they are working with high pressure spouts and mortar, it seems.
*loves pugs bedroom hair* nice touch, dear....lol
I hope you slept reasonably well this night, pugs
rose, my darling, yes you did. Red becomes you.
I am taking a bunch of clothes down to a free will store and then spending the day with Carol
ah, great, pugs. Did you get my email?
if only you could really see it--lol
nice one, pugs.
havent been there yet Sprite--got the one yesterday (is that it)
the one about Carol
oh yes and I answered you back I though unless it went awry
must have gone awry then, I think.
while heading down to her home Iam stopping at a few places to pick up app. for jobs
wow pugs, going strong.
well as is well there--I will reanswer when I get back tonight
I meant all is well there
all good, darling :) Am glad things are well.
so how are you and Rose today
Holding resentments ... what the Mayo Clinic says: http://tinyurl.com/omqbpmx
I am fine. Not too much noise atm.
doing okay, pugs. went to hydro this morning. going to work tomorrow, for just one hour.
morning OO and thanks got it
hello o-o, good to see you.
thanx o-o. and how are you doing today, mate?
how are you feeling now Rose
one hour of work and several of travelling. Take care, rose. Enjoy it, but be careful, ok?
not too bad. did take strong pain tablet about 2 hours ago. knee was spasming.
i have the name of a good law firm, from my union. i think i really need to visit them.
sounds like a plan, rose.
I got a email from Liz and Iam not understand it--did something happen to you rose
geez I cant write this morning
pugs, i did send it to you also
oh pugs, nm the email thing... I see you sent me a card as answer, reading it now, happy for you both!
o-o, yes, i have been to that site before. thanx for caring, mate.
part of it must of not came through then
okay, will resend it
okay--rose----okay Sprite
done, pugs, give it about 5 minutes to arrive.
someone is bullying you Rose from here?
ok-thanks
yes, pugs
yeah, trying to, pugs. But Rose is better than that.
I am guessing it has to do with Wor, maybe
only indirectly, pugs.
like i said to my eldest son, wash your mouth out, clean up your act, and don't you dare speak to me like that again.
roflol... only good response, rose
I feel sorry for people like that, they must have a sad life
*giggle* sprite
amen to that
On the Angel service--it was real good and I got a Bible study here on line--I was up late cause I was into it--there are good and bad angels--more about them then I knew were in there
am with you on the forgiveness thing, o-o. The only thing is, people should allow themselves to be hurt and angry first. Or it will be a fake forgiveness that does more hurt than it heals.
Lucifer was a fallen angel, right?
He was
and he took many angels with him as well
I read somewhere that holding on to resentment is like eating poison and expecting the other person to die from it.
do you know that the dutch word for matches is lucifers? :)
no I didnt
always makes me smile. A lovely word for matches. And we call a ladybug a Good God bug. (Lieveheersbeestje)
yay, pugs. nice. was going to send you a couple of things via snail mail. okay? just a couple of meditation guides which you might like to use, and a copy of our service. so you know what i mean about gloria excelsis.
good Rose and thanks
pugs, lucifers were a brand of matches here, many years ago
*hugs rose* That is a great thing to do for our pugs.
side note: this grid is kicking up a fight. I am with Liz. Poopy grid.
forgiveness is a process .... there will be some trial and error .... my treaters frequently reminded me self-righteous indignation is problematical. Holding on to a grudge only means the downside of not forgiving lasts longer and may leave residuals.
may i help you, sprite
on my way to church, a neighbor's steer had gotten out and so I had to go to their home and let them know before it got on the highway and they had a big old dog I had to fight keeping off of my dress--lol i thought I was going to be late but I wasent
yeah, self-righteousness is hurtful to yourself, even if it feels kind of good. What I mean is the natural anger and hurt. We need to allow ourselves to feel those emotions before we can start letting go.
*shrug* o-o, i think your treaters are correct, mate.
rose, I still need a whopping 62 words, lol. Can't even ask for one yet.
OO, those words are easy said but doing the action on sometings is not
lol pug. A good deed never goes unpunished ;)
np's dear sprite...play on....
I still need 143--lol
thanks for the offer though, rose
i had to start with saying out aloud...i forgive...it took a while for the words to reach my heart.
it helps to realise we aren't perfect either.
So what? Getting better is very difficult ... one must do the work or accept the misery.
oh, Lord. i never going to be perfect...i'm too human.
just cause you say those words that does not always reach the heart and I am taling of myself, not no one else
ain't that the gospel truth, o-o. And hard work it is.
some people are stronger, such as you OO to do all that
I used to tell myself if I sat on the floor ... I could not fall down .... or get anywhere.
oh, pugs, now I must butt in. You are strong. You are far stronger than you give yourself credit for. Trust me on this. I have seen it in you.
ouch, o-o. Been there as well. And then was peeved when people walked over me.
Iam just saying I say I forgive some things that were done to me and I mean those words but there are times that bitterness returns
that is ok, pugs. As long as you can make yourself work on letting go, and not feeding the bitterness.
which is why forgiveness is a process ... and you are the beneficiary
and then I feel guilty for that
and that is why forgiveness often starts with learning to forgive yourself. You are only human, darling.
and how does feeling guilty help the process>
I am really trying Sprite--OO has been helping a bunch---its mental draining
it dont OO but adds to it
I know, pugs. It is a tough process. Am glad o-o helps you. He has great knowledge and experience in processes like this.
“It doesn’t matter how slowly you go-so long as you do not stop.â€-Confucius
I dont see how you guys have that kind of strength
it is all about not giving up, pugs. Keep making another step. No matter how small.
and pugs, you are good at that. taking the next step, no matter how small. you are one amazing woman, sweetie.
what rose says
I wont give up and I will keep plodding through the junk---I know I have forgiven someone before over and over for hurting me and it didnt help at all when it kept happening
And back to try to find a few more words! And to chat with friends :)
Hi pugs
Hi ya Liz
no, that won't help. You have to grab your power back first, and change your situation. With hurts like that, you need a bit of distance to start the process of forgiving.
wb Liz! How was dinner?
yes, love...and that is their problem...so long as you forgive them....keep on, keeping on, dear.
Good luck with the job hunting - saw that yesterday, I think.
thanks Liz
Yummy chilli. Hot enough to make my nose run but not too hot!
oooo sounds so tasty!
I keep entering french for hell. And it just is not valid.
I taught my hubby how to make it and now he makes a really yummy chilli.
high praise for husbands who can cook!
ugh, you can keep it, liz. please scratch it off the menu when i come up. believe me, you won't like my body's reaction to chili. i love the taste, but my body hates the stuff. * sigh *
my love can cook so well and is willing to do so... I can't tell him enough how much I appreciate it
He does most of the every day stuff. But I also cook and at times we cook together.
OK! Noted, Rose :)
oh, I have that with tomatoes, rose. Not the raw ones, but in dishes. Can't eat tomato soup, for instance.
which is really strange, considering i can eat most 'warm' curries, so long as there is no chili.
I might sweat later but it's worth it.
I have just started cooking again. Once a week, for now. Learning to like it, maybe.
Hope you do learn to love it. I know how hard that is for you though.
yeah, still a long way to go. But not giving up :)
Have you made that salmon again?
give me a good kitchen, i wilol cook the pants off jamie oliver
yes I have, it is a great recipe
*will*
hehehe rose :D
Good. If you email me the sort of stuff you like, I might be able to make some other suggestions.
and bake...i love baking....that's when i go completely nuts.
Watching yesterday's masterchef right now.
Also love baking.
lucky you, liz. don would go absolutely banans if i insisted on that show.
I watch when he's not around!
we like almost everything here, Liz. Would love a couple of suggestions for 'easy' meals.
But he also loves UK Masterchef so we watch that together.
yeah, right...and that would be when??
pug, if I had a dollar for every time I failed I would be a miserable millionaire
I'll have a think sprite.
lol he can go read a book when you watch, rose.
food is good
*hugs o-o*
Rose, he's just gone out but at other times when he's playing with his photos on the computer.
geez OO--how did you know thats how Iam feeling right now
How are you with plaice (or similar flat fish) stuffed with cheese and apple and cooked in cider, sprite. Much easier than it sounds.
wow... sounds pretty complicated to me, Liz, but I think it will taste awesome!
ugh, o-o. ditto here.
Not complicated really.
failing is only failing if you give up trying. If you keep on trying, failing is only not yet succeeding.
mind you, o-o. my last major decision was to say yes to don's marriage proposal. haven't regretted that one yet.
lol Liz, first question that pops into my mind is, how does one stuff a flat fish?
*chuckling* and how do you milk a duck?
Buy fillets and then you roll them/
ohhhhh! Ok, that, I can manage.
lol rose... I give... how??
I'll send you a couple of easy recipes now. I've already got them on my computer.
what?? down the hill? or do you use hair curlers?
sprite, on a very low stool
awesome, Liz, thank you so much!
roflollllll rose! That is almost like a very old dutch joke... how does a hare catch a cow?
oh, dear...am i gonna regret this...how, sprite?
sorry, the other way around... how does a cow catch a hare
it hides behind a poll of grass and imitates the sound of kale
aagghh!! too funny...roflololol
it is an old joke because we have this saying... you never know how a cow may catch a hare... meaning, you never know what happens, things may turn out better than you think.
piecosts and henweighs
yes, sprite.
lol o-o
oh, my...o-o...lol
email sent - it's format is really odd though - 2 chicken, 1 lamb and one fish recipe!
and has anyone here sent an apprentice out to bring back a long weight(wait)? or striped paint?
i sent a junior nurse to the sterilising department for a packet of fallopian tubes..
And one more just sent!
lol rose, no, but we do send out apprentices to bring us a spool of checkered thread, een schop met het voetje (can't be translated, will explain) or the mopboard stairs
Really Rose??? The nurse! LOL!
thank you, Liz!
*giggle* liz, which one?
lolol rose!
Let me know if there's a problem reading them, Sprite.
Fallopian tubes!!!!
schop met het voetje: 'schop' can mean a shovel or a kick. 'Met het voetje' means literally 'with the foot'.
OK back to iPad and master chef! Back in a minute.
yeah, i know. i was very naughty.
thanks Liz, I can open them just fine!
oh I got the sent of a polecat coming through the window--lol
lol pugs. As long as it is only the scent.
sprite...what??? you can open the fallopian tubes? nice going!!
Know what open Fallopian tubes leads to -----babies!
oh, you found that out,liz?
was it in time???
No I never did!
my fallopian tubes are wide open. Just not for seedy stuff.
Lol
okay...next weekend planned. claudia's 4th birthday. last weekend she and braxton were suffering from tonsilitis. hope next weekend she will be well enough to have her birthday present.
nice going, rose. I hope they will be well by then.
Oh yes. The bike, isn't it?
Hope they're better by then.
at last, fireflies. Nasty little grid this was.
yes, to both of you. have just put it on charge, so that the parents will get the full benefit of it...lights and sirens...lol
congrats Sprite
WTG SPRITE!!
Congrats, sprite. I'm going to list before too long.
thanks, all :) Yes, it is a list grid for sure, Liz. I had to take several peeks to get it finished.
She'll love it - parents I'm not so sure!!!! No, it'll be great.
*hugs* to you all. May you have a blessed day and a peaceful night.
Have a great day, sprite. Hugs
hugs and bye Sprite--enjoy your day
sprite, i hope your day treats you well.xoxox
I just read my mail and think I missed something awful!
{hello, my friends
am taking my friend out for coffee tomorrow. her father died last week.
Hugs and Hi Ruby
Hi Ruby. Hugs
{{rosie, liz, little pugs}}
{{hugs}} dear ruby
That's lovely Rose. So sad for your friend.
ruby, the kerfuffle was mainly in my email. but there was a lot of discussion here in chog.
Since I now have to accompany my husband for his Monday shopping, I bought myself a present: a hand-made metal dragon, rusty, about 3 ft long, for the garden It's fabulous!
oh, wonderful, ruby. please take pics and post.
oh sounds cool Ruby
I've misplaced (lost) both the battery and the charger for my camera in my awful mess
Pooh I love dragons.
Pooh? Supposed to be oooooh!
ruby...so sorry, dear. when you are ready is also good.
When I was exhibiting my abstract paintings, to make enough money to frame them, I used to draw really scary dragons and sold all of them. Also owls.
oohhh!! our ruby has hidden talents.
Fantastic, Ruby.
We have 2 dragons outside.
I collect sculpture of crocodiles and alligators in all materials, from tiny ivory ones to large various wood ones, from all over the place
what kind of dragons, liz? Komodo? Or sculptres?
Sculptures though ones a total fake made from polystyrene or similar. The other is stone.
But we also have live water dragons running about down by the creek. They're all over the place here.
How big are the live ones and what color?
I like all reptiles, as long as they're not poisonous
The best answer is to google images af australian water dragons.
Will look this afternoon
They're not poisonous - quite small but perhaps up to 1/2 metre long.
my step-daughter collects statuettes/sculptures of dragons. she used to be part of the gothic culture.
that's a good size. I would love that but there's nothing that exotic here.
I've always loved dragons but that became even stronger when reading anne mccaffrey.
ruby, i did email you re the cyber bully.
Everything's exotic here, for me!
I saw it and am very curious, but I think I know who it is and there was something from the unnamed person in my mail which I marked as spam without reading it
Everyone seems to know but me! But that doesn't matter.
I might be wrong! lol
good for you, ruby. well done. this needs to be put in it's place...under a stone...
Doesn't mean I'm not curious though!
I'll ewrite you an e-mail later, liz, with my idea
*giggle* liz, don and i are still very curious re australia's 'hidden' treasures.
ar4 describes the person, I think
Liz - we are the "odd men" out on this thing.
Thanks Ruby. I'm interested but it doesn't matter if I don't know. Most important is that it doesn't continue.
*explosive laughter* ruby...exactly
quashed the q's
hello dianne
Good description. Straight to the point.
i Dianne
Hi ruby - nice gift you got your self.
*hi
and liz, you are not losing anything by not knowing the ID of this bully.
No like I said, curious but not bo versed!
Hi liz - if I could eat fish I'de ask for that recipe I saw you talking about before.
* bovverred
Or even bothered! Catherine Tate impersonation failed!
If you liked fish, I'd send it.
liz, i will give you a nudge, nudge, wink..if i think you need it.
Love fish but now allergic to all flaky white fish.
I'm sure you will Rose. Friends!
That's a shame, Dianne.
Friends!!
dianne, can you eat salmon and tuna?
Rose, fortunately yes - and shell fish (yum).
all the fish here is either frozen or not fresh enough and the shellfish come pre-cooked
oh, yeah...i love scallops. how about lobster/crayfish?
Unusual. I think more are allergic to shell fish.
growing up in NY, all fish and shellfish was perfectly fresh, or even freshly caught by my father
lucky ruby...
mons
sorry
np's here, ruby
my sister has what could be a fatal allergy to lobster. She often talks about "suicide by lobster"
We get fantastic seafood here. We go to s street market that has outdoor "dining" (folding tables & stools) that serve the yummiest baby clam in black bean sauce.
i think i must have gills. i looove seafood, no matter what...
Where you are, Dianne, surrounded by the sea, I can imagine how wonderful the food is. Who needs flaky white fish anyay?
sure you are not a great white Rose--lol
*drooling all over the keyboard* move over dianne...we're coming over..
Hi Dianne
Hi pug - how are you doing?
I have to go and make my poor husband some lunch
* giggle * pugs
See you later, kids
Bye ruby
bye Ruby--hugs
Pugs, do you fish in the local river?
I'm okay Di and you?
no Ruby
see you tomorrow, ruby. hope your day treats you nicely. xoxox
I like sitting in the water and petting them
Enjoy your day Ruby. Hugs
I'm good. Thinking what else to make with fried chicken for tonight.
great image! Little red-haired pugs petting fish!
Okra, Dianne (or gombos, as they call them here)
and i am outta here. dinner being served. love you all. xoxox
*woof*
Hugs Rose. Have a lovely evening.
night Rose and hugs and love
Taking a break with 55 left. Not enjoying this grid :( will list on return, I expect. Hugs, pugs and others
hugs Liz
So pug - it's just you and me left.
good morning everyone:)
looks like Di-lol
Hi crossy
oops theres Crossy--Hi Crossy
yuppers;)) coming up to 6 am here, and it looks to be a beautiful day coming on.
How nice for you Crossy--are you mowing grass there yet
one mowing in already and the trees are coming along nicely now
I love the smell of fresh cut grass and hay too
yes, there is a nice gr 9/66 to the lawn now:)
brb coffee time
thanks crossy
np:)
a very odd email in my in-box this morning;(
about bullying?
to the babbler so sent this, to me, grannyrose, worzel, sprite and others: though i have never had a problem with you, after much consideration, I find the depths to which you went to to put this all together a bit.. disturbing. I wish you a good life. but have removed you from all my contact lists
was a long, long letter, puglet
sorry didnt mean to n4 crossy--
no, no, puglet. no problem at all. I am quite sure we are talking about the same e-mail
Im not understanding what is going on myself--I just got a short note
well, best just to let it be, i think and babble on
true
have you started your new classes yet Crossy
yes indeed!:)). I am in a 6 week workplace law class now
going good for you?
wait, it is college law, not workplace
not bad so far, but fast paced and i best not miss a day!
makes the pace of the college English i just wrapped up seem sedate
what plans do you have with all this knowledge you are getting? Running for some goverment office?
lol, heck no! Not going to waste it by working for the government
oh so no time now to be leg watching-lol
nope, all the lovely lasses are left to their own devices
thats probablly good for your neck--lol
lol, getting too old for that anyways. It will vapour-lock my old carberator
I bet your wife is glad of that
and you can only hear how you remind them of thier long lost daddy so many times without getting a tad depressed!
poor Crossy-lol
on day one, I was sitting there, getting ready for the day and at least 5 of them asked me if i was the teacher, and where they should sit lol
well from the pics I seen of you, you kind of do look like a professor of sorts
the class ratio is about 75% 18-25 year olds who are missing one credit for a diploma, and about 25% mature students coming back just to learn
I just need the cordorouy jacket with the patches at the elbows
Don't forget the pipe.
yes:) a nice pipe to finish off the look
at least it dont sound like you are alone in the learning group---that is why you are there isnt it-lol
the grey is already coming in nicely in my beard
yup, it is all part of the experience
Is this your last course Crossy
and i have never done so much peer editing in my life:).. nope, one more 6 week course this september, pugs then i am done.. unless they have a summer course i am interested in
was hoping to finish with the 2014 class, but it was not to be. I needed 7 classes in all and there was not enough time
maybe you can put some of them on the right track then
popping back in briefly to say g'day to crossy. thanx for your support, mate. i am pretty distressed by all this. i have tried desperately to keep this babbler quiescent..
((rose))
{{hugs}} and xxxx to you mate. i hope mrs crossy is goodly today?
I got to get off here and get ready to head out so love and hugs to you all
all is good rose, and it is going to be a beautifull day here
the mrs is fine as well:)
and crossy? i have to say how proud i am of you for all you have achieved.
granny, send me a quick e-mail at the addy in my profile please so i have you addy. I have to pass something along to you
nm, you did lol
*giggle* i tried so hard to up-date my qualifications a few years ago....when the uni started talking about stuff i laid the groundwork for, i said...st8FF it. not doing it...lolol
already done so, dear crossy.
lolol, crossy. god i love you guys and gals.
rose, check your mail,please
an re: schooling: tyvm rose, i am finding it all highly satisfying:) I should of done this long ago
good on you, crossy. i hope you are happy. i just decided it was too much...especially when they tried to teach me what i had written in the text book...lolol
well, I do not know how far i will go with it, but the 95%+ i have received in the three English classes have opened up some doors that i never had the chance to use before.
time will tell. I am just going with the flow for now.
i am leaving my mail open and running if you need it today , ((rose)) If you pop over, i can even put together a nice crossy breakfast:)
crossy has big lumberjack shoulders for the ladies;)
so4, crossy. if not this year, then the next. i am so looking forward to meeting you in person.
I always wanted to get one of those fuzzy red checkered shirts and a pair of bright red suspenders to finish the look
*chuckling* thanx for the offer, crossy. but himself's shoulders are enough for me.
that is well:)
well, don't let me stop you...it might be the only way i will recognise you and joso...
the season down there must be sliding into your "winter" now eh?
supposed to be....but it remains quite warm. i think winter is going to be on a tuesday this year...lolol
lol, I love that picture of flosey, joso and myself. She looks so small. I best she has not had that much beef around her since the last time she went to the calgary stampede!
our daffodils are sprouting, and the fruit trees are in blossom...
out trilliums are up and the fiddleheads are ready for harvesting and the tree are getting new leaves for the year:)
oh, lord, i am lololol, and don is looking at me very strangely. flosey, jilli are both part of the equation.
:)
and bugsaw, she is in canada also, yes?
we are getting more babblers from Ontario all the time. it is nice to see
yes, bugsaw is a canuck as well, i believe
oh, dear...the dollars are starting to add up...but, you know what? it doesn't matter. i would rather have my friends around me, than have the money.
bah!. Never mind the money. You can get that junk anywhere. stuff just causes probems anyways
sprite, pugs, ruby and i are gonna have the meet of all times...that will be definitely this year...
i so want to pull this off. and then i'm going over to the UK. so many babble friends to meet there.
Know what has value? A Mate you love, some good friends, a few creature comforts and a bookcase that is too full to add another book.
oh, my, crossy, friend of my heart...exactly...i have so many unplaced books...and no unplaced friends.
as for my mate....he is my soul mate....we pray and play together...we weep together...and support each other, no matter what. he is my husband, my mate and most of all...the love of my life.
lol. I once seriously considered turning my living room into a mini-library with naught but two or three wingback chairs a few small side tables, and the rest all book cases and a few antiques for decoration. E-readers came out the next year. The wife was greatful;)
lol, i bet she was....
so now my book case is still full and i have 400 books on my E-reader
and is your e-reader full? by the way, have you ever tried to read dickens...hard times...it is mind-blowingly booooring...i have been trying to read it for the last 4 weeks...any reason i should persist?
no, this e-reader is a grand thing. i think i will be able to fit about 1000 books on here , including the 200 pictures that are in there
I have read dickens. You have to almost reset your mind when you read his works
nice, crossy. so an e-reader is a good thing?
They are works that must be read two or three times, then the depth of the work comes through
I love my e-reader for travelling
i have read a tale of two cities and oliver twist. but this takes the cake.
sure beats carrying a suitcase of books
first time through, read it as a chapter play. Do not take it in big bites
okay...so i must persist...*pout* was hoping for a let off the leash...*sigh*
the last one of his i read was david copperfield
it shows how things were long ago. Just a room full of people introducing themselves, and all the niceties that were required for it can be a daunting read:)
i have read, avidly, shakespeare, the lake poets, and a lot of other classic authors...but dickens?? ah well as you say, small bites. will do so.
*giggle* to me, david copperfield is a walk in the park....
good morning, babblers - grannyrose, I'll just offer a word of encouragement to keep reading Dickens - a work that has stood the test of time and is still meaningful in today's "hard time"
times
It is like reading Poe; they wrote for the top 2% of society at the time and not the general huddled masses. Twain, however, wrote for the common man and enjoyed huge success.
I read it a long time ago, but I think I remember it also comments on the value of education and differing views on what a good education consists of
forgive me, it's been a while, I may decide to read it again : )
thanx, jbv....i will persist...give up is not in my dictionary.
yes, it is a valuable commentary on education.
It is good to touch on the classics now and then. They are rare things in that they open a window to the past that you can walk through and see life as it was.
I used to use the scene with Mr. Gradgrind in my teacher training sessions - as a lesson of what not to do as a teacher
I wrote an entire English thesis on the dangers of the new trend of "sanitizing" the classics to male them politically correct. My example was when Newsouth books did a reprint of Twains Huckleberry Finn in 2011 and removed all the words they deemed offensive
oh, dear. have taken my night-time meds...and now i am yawning hugely. as a matter of fact, just about dislocated my jaw with the last. work tomorrow...just one hour...and starting late, after peak hour traffic. wish me luck, dear friends.
omg
tc, rose and have a good sleep
good luck, grannyrose and good night
jbv, i can relate to that. and crossy?? thanx again for your support. xoxox to you both.
((rose))
good morning babblers
good morning, annie:)
hi Annie!
hi crossy, my bookcases are getting full too. I donate books to Housing Works in New York. They advocate for the homeless and homeless people with AIDS< They also help them with activities of daily living.
They have a great bookstore and cafe in NY. All their workers are volunteers. Whenever I get down there I always find good books to buy at a good discount.
I am terrible. I have every single book i have ever bought, or has been given to me since 1985. I cannot part with them.
I enjoy passing books along to those who may enjoy them
though i do loan them out
Hi all :)
howdy,liz
Hi, JBV. My friends know they can always find a book here to read. You should check out Housing Works, jbv. Great place. It's in Soho..on Crosby Street
Hi Liz :)
how are you all doing with this unfriendly grid?
thanks, Annie - one of these days we'll have to have a meet up in NYC
Liz, I keep looking for a T that is not there
tough grid
JBV, sounds good
i've been looking for an se4 that must be invisible
So many phantoms. I've got down to 54 and am going to list now.
and I have to stop typing "orient"
unless there's a mistake in the list
it happens sometimes
I tried that too.
Good morning/afternoon
the list says there are 4 se4s
howdy car:)
ah, just got it
babble blind
Hi car
hi car. ")
:)
Hi Crossy...hello everyone
hi Liz and car
and now it is time for crossy's tidbit of the day!!
Did you know that a "jiffy" is an actual unit of time?? In computer engineering, it is the length of one cycle of the computer’s system clock (around 10 milliseconds). In chemistry and physics, a jiffy is the amount of time it takes light to travel a distance of one centimeter — about 33.3564 picoseconds.
Wow!
I'll be there in a Jiffy Crossy...make some bacon!
:)
lol, I best get cooking then!
i love how they rounded that to the fourth decimal place:)
Probably some huge recurring number!
Ugh....none of the usual words work today
Is a picosecond a tenth of a nanosecond?
a picodegallosecond is when you have more salsa!
Ole!
godthaab, a picosecond is 10-12 units of a nanosecond
i do not know the reason for the varriance
i am sure uusue can tell us:)
Enough for tonight. 38 for tomorrow. Perhaps the grid will look friendlier in the morning. Enjoy your days, everyone :)
tc, liz
sweet dreams, Liz
No, a picosecond is 10 to the power of -12 of a second. Or, written 10-12 on websites that copy other websites and don't display exponents properly. There is no variance. :-)
ty for the clarification:))
yw :-)
I love it when my tidbits create interesting discussions:)
Stats for the middle E please?
one trillionth of a second.
morning, o-o
en 5/12 and 6/27
hello everybody
72 words this AM but the garden beckons. I just picked up about 200 pinecones that came down in the weekend's wind
the handyman is here to cut the grass, mulch the tomatoes (ty Molly) and generally clean up this mess I call a garden
save the pine cones and use them in a layer in your fower beds to discourage weeds
flower
((ruby))
maybe they'll make bbaby pine trees....
{{annie}}
lol, you never know, ruby
{{crossy}} I was just in time for your tidbit which flew, at the speed of light, over my head
it is also the speed at which bacon vanishes around my house
contrary to doctor's orders
indeed
this grid is too hard for me. 75 words, no 8'sor 9's, not even close to nbt!
actually, crossy has been a good boy. It has almost bee 2 weeks! gasp!! since there has been bacon in the house
been

You know, there really should be a Maypole here, for all the dancing around that gets done. : D
Molly, I bought mulch today, thanks to you an the handyman just put them around the tomatoes
gr9/66
That is great Ruby, it will really cut down on your need to weed.
now if I could mulch my studio and the papers would disappear.....
may I ask what is going on in the chat between real people?
Just reading the word "handyman" makes me happy. Every woman should have a handyman.
evidently something bad happened this AM before I got here
got it thank you Ruby
Maybe we could dance around the maypole with the handyman
I just found an ir8 if anybody would like it

I miss that one a lot.
Yeah, but it's in this one all backwards and twisty
I've never heard of either one of those r words.
car i dont understand the ro i have is a ro6?
Judi, seriously? You don't use a French word from the 1500s in your everyday chit chat?
r + vegetable that makes you cry, substitute sometimes vowel for the i
i have heard of that so 6 before
Then plural it
There are 2 RO 6's...just insert the sometimes vowel for the i, and then plural that for the RO 7
My comment to Judi was about her comment regarding the R words
Well, I may have a so6/18 every now and then, but I would never invite an ro6/18 or an ro6/24.
and plural ty molly got both
i greyed the first column woot

You don't have to be sent to the PB. You can always go in there voluntarily.
just found the little horses... they were jumping off the grid and I couldn't see them!

eno, not far
I wsn't far :)
My icon today is someone's idea of the PB.
hego, That was FM rendering of the PB. I printed it out. It is terrific.
It's a few years old, so the cabana boys weren't here yet.
I have saved it Annie.
and that is me flying through the window. That icon is about 6 or 7 seven years old. I miss Fiona terribly.
me too.
I love Haz and George Clooney too.
and stidmama.
can I get a clue for en 6/27 please
That was hilarious. Haz still plays but no longer chats. I miss her too.
annie, en + an agricultural laborer bound under the feudal system to work on his lord's estate.
Annie, I don't get you flying through the window. I see a black image with a white flower.
Thanks Eno, I never see that word
ty eno needed that too.
the last part is also a word in the grid
3rd pr5,12?
Molly, I am in a nun's habit. I am the first Jewish flying nun. There is egg on my face. The first word I entered into the chat was cu 4/6 by mistake. I was sort of surprised to see that word. Now anything goes.
Ah, I see. The resolution on the image I have is kind of grainy.
lol Annie
do you sometimes go to the grid and see words that were missed that you were sure you had???
Sister Bertrillenstein
yes
I think it's my lousy typing that causes yhat.
Done, finally.
funny Molly
Congrats Annie!!

any clue for the last mo 6/21 ?
It ends in charged particle
Molly...isn't that the 7?
Nope, but the 7 does too
It is the same, Ouwachita. Just take away one of the consonant.
I cant seem to monkey type it
Hey Zoom, I was trying to leave a little bit of thinking room : D
that is the first mo6
Sorry, Molly :-)
isn't there one after that and its 7
Yes, and that is the one Zoom and I are talking about
I am brain dead today...I had it and dint bother to look at my word count
Oy
I had all 151 and kept looking for another one...lol
I am not thinking to clearly at the moment, Molly. My brother passed away yesterday and we are trying to arrange everything. My mother is in bits bless her heart...that is enough about me..off to try and get some rest..I am so tired of crying.
Here I was trying to figure out how the plural of cash ended in charged particle.
Zoom ♥ I'm so sorry about your brother. Prayers out for your clan.
Afternoon Babblers
My condolences to you and your family zoozzoom
Zoom, I am so sorry.
Zooz, I am sorry for your loss and wish you and your family the best in this time of grief
(((Zooz)))) my condolences and sympathy to you and your parents
and now it is time for Crossy's tidbit of the day! The atlas moth is born without a mouth, and as such, has a life span of about 2 weeks
blessings to you and all who loved your brother Zoozzoom
Hi, bugs. How are you today?
good thanks jaxx. I have been tidying the house and need a break.
fees
oops......... sorry
We have been trying to fit a quart into a pint pot. We have our stuff and all Nigel's late mother's and my late mother's stuff in a two up, two down cottage. Chaos isn't the word for it. We have started throwing things out but my husband is a squirrel and as fast as I put stuff in a black bag he is taking it out again. 'It might come in useful' yeah, but when? We are in our 70's now.
I learned a tip from a TV show that could help. Instead of trying to keep everything that reminds you of your mothers, keep just a few things that symbolize
lots of aspects of them. Frame or display those things proudly in a prominent place and get rid of the rest by letting people who need those things right now have them
Mr Bugs also goes thru the garbage so you have to bury things under coffee grounds to be successful
It isn't like that. My brother and sister wanted things but wouldn't come and pick them up. My Australian stepsisterw
neon
I am SO SORRY people. My Expert broke...
Bugsaw, as long as your giving words away, how about a clue for the ar7? please.
Wants anything connected with my stepfather and come s over once in a blue moon. I am not sentimental and I have chosen my favourites. Nigel has two brothers who never seem to find the time to come and take what they want but moan if we say we are going to throw things away.
if I had it gramma ;)
Tya
Got it
ty want you for storage it seems
they
ar + vowel + what you don't cut off to spite your face.
was same with my brother-in law. they wanted my wife to keep every scrap after mum died
I wonder if there is some way to send it to them postage due.
ty gramma
How 'bout en6?
you rent a small storage unit, put all the stuff in it, but only pay for a week and mail the family the key with a note that they better hurry
or it ends up being auctioned off
you are devious crossy but that just might work! I am sure they will MAKE time then
got it
i have used that tactic. I know it works:))
you get your space back in your home, and they pick what they want, it is a win/win
Hi, crossy. We have to do it now as Ashley's school have brought in Social Services because he went to school last week with smelly socks and soiled underwear and one day without lunch. I am willing to swear that my grandson never leaves this house in a morning without all clothes washed the night before from the skin outwards. As for lunch, my husband packs him up with lunch and drinks every day and reminds him to take it. As an added insult they have threatened to fine us £60 gor taking Ashley out of school for his grandfather's funeral!
good lord:((
that school do a sniff test on all their students?
for Pete's sake jaxx. That happened to me too until the kid admitted he was eating his lunch on the way to school after having a good breakfast
3e enosis
at the end of my son's schooling, the school system got so overbearing just like this example. I told them that if they want to raise my child, they can file for adoption
funerals are always an acceptable reason for absence
en6 pls
my son used to eat his lunch on way to school, lie about it and say he had no breakfast or luch, so he could sit in on the school breakfast programme lol
en + a feudal slave
I feel so much better now crossy.
ty grama
he liked that they served pre-packaged cereals instead of oatmeal and yogurt
We couldn't believe it. We had told them when David died that we would be taking Ash out for the day . This is a child with 100% attendance mind. Then we wrote the week before the day and told them again and got a mouthful from the school secretary about not having arranged it earlier! Today a double paged A4 form arrived for us to fill in to the effect that they reserved the right to consider whether to fine us or not even though we had asked before taking him out.
that is totally ridiulous jaxx
a funeral is acceptable. someone at that school has it in for you for whatever reason
schools butt in too deeply into the lives of the family in my opinion
I used to send a note to school saying "Please excuse ____ from ?-? Thank you. I never felt I owed anyone a reason fro removing my child.
How old is young Ashley, jaxx? It sounds like the school has a young social worker type who just graduated from school and does'nt have kids yet
times have changed. It is called "helecopter schooling"
I would not tolerate that.
if the school thinks you need help, this is not the way to offer it for sure
He is 8, 9 in july. We look after him during the week because his mother works nights and it is easier for us to get him ready each day. Also he can walk easily to school from ours. I have no doubt that he has left his lunch somewhere or he preferred the school lunch that day and told a whopper. He knows they won't see him without a meal.
School is to educate, family is to raise.
When my son was... i will say in grade two or so, he was being balky about getting his hair combed for school. I turned him around and gave him a tap on a clothed behind. The teachers noticed he was sad in class and grilled his as to what was wrong. he said "my dad spanked me with a brush" when i got there at pick-up time, there were three police cruisers and two CAS agents and i had to explain why i should keep my son and stay out of jail. helecopter schooling
I totally agree gramma!
helicopter schooling, never heard of it and don't like it
google helecopter parenting, peri, it is the same
I can see that the schools have been asked to look out for child abuse but there has to be a better way
sounds like your family has a great arrangement for everyone jaxx. Perhaps the boy's mother needs to step in a lay down the law to the school
I remember when I worked in a hospital I was called in to see a young african american girl who had burn marks on the side of her head. After talking with the family I found out that a curling iron caused it and it was not done on purpose.
sounds like you have a good set-up jaxx. Like i said, my son used to lie about his breakfast and lunch to get the pre-packaged crap at school
help with in 7 pls
crossy when this same boy I am talking about was in Grade 10 he didn't study for a Math test so he decided to ask to see the counsellor during that class. He said he and his father had fought the night before. He meant arguement but the police were called, Social Workers came to the house with more police to take the younger ones into foster care and the big one ran away because of all that had happened. It took him phoning me and being brave enough to come home and tell the truth to get things back in order. I have not approved of the power some people have ever since
As for the underwear, I have no idea. It was clean on in the morning. He has the smelliest feet ever. I have thought of offering him to the military as a weapon - cheese gas. His shoes take up the aroma and there you are. I used to work at the high school site and Julie went there too. Julie has not minced her words a couple of times on review days which has not made her popular with the Principal of the Academy. He never liked me either so he's scored a double whammy here. nevertheless the Social workers will be here on June 9th to inspect us.
often, it seems, parents are deemed guilty till proven innocent
crossy has always had stinky-cheese feet since youth:)
ahh, private schools are even worse. Principal proably thinks the atmosphere parts before him
underwear = 8 year old boys in a hurry don't always clean themselves very well
I wonder what's going on.
I wonder what's going on.
