nice job diz!]
Doing OK, Liz. It is too hot to even open the door. Ninety something today. The wind way too strong for getting out and enjoying the summer.....been blowing for months now. I'll stop gripeing
Congrats, diz!!!!!
Do you have fans or air con?
I have central air and ceiling fans.....I don't use the fans much......stirs up the dog hair and dust....LOL
cooee and g'day from me
Hi Rose :)
Hugs and Hi Rose
Tough for you Peach, when it's too hot to go out.
Hey there, Rose.
hi liz, and dearest pugs. how are you both? how was work, pugs? are you exhausted?
hey peach
I feel great from working--but my darn back is something else and personal junk other then that I A-okay-lol ---and yourself?
good news except for your poor back. it's saturday...lol...need i say more?
I have never had back trouble before and I dont get this--Ive od on pain killers I think-lol and its not touching it
you probably need to icepack, 5 mins, hot pack, 10 minutes. see if it's just muscle spasm. the cold/hot treatment breaks the spasm up.
if you have time,do it for 4 cycles, about an hour. then go for a gentle walk around the house/garden for 5 minutes.
this back thing started about two months ago and has just gotten worse---its right about where your bra comes together
I will give it a try Rose
Sounds really painful.
that high is usually spasms/cramps.
it is Liz and no pills seems to be helping
from what though Rose--old bones--lol
This grid just got tough!
no darling, well, yes i guess so. my theory is that as we get older, our discs in between the vertebrae get thinner, and we get shorter, right?
I am now working five hours a day and five days a week
we still have the same muscle mass, but now it is getting squashed into a smaller area, and nerves etc start to be pinched in the soft tissues. and we get spasms/cramps.
pug, I suggest a good massage. That area behind the heart is one we often protect by contracting muscles there. If you have a roller to stretch out on that would be good too.
our neighbor has one of those iron yard rollers--Iam about to ask him to run that across it--lol
thanks Roses
LOL! not quite what I meant, but I know that pain and it will drive you to do almost anything to relieve it!
pugs. do you have a firm, large ball? you good put it between you and a wall/door and roll around on it.
FW and off to bed, goodnight all, see you tomorrow night
I do Rose
night flosey
Congrrats, Flosey and sleep well.
night, flosey dear. sweet dreams, hun
good idea granny! I have a tennis ball that I use like that. try it pugs!
The ball is a good idea - of course, your dogs might think it's play time!
whatever I need to do I will have to do it myself
Congrats, flosey and sweet dreams.
will do guys
my massage ball is very solid with firm pointy bits on it, which, depending on how hard you push, can get qu5 deep into the muscle.
leaning against a wall with the ball behind your back is a great idea. It can be hard to keep the ball in the right place - it wants to roll away!
well Beulah is big enough to put some wieght on it
tennis balls are so handy!
beulah has a horse ball I could hang and try that!
and don't forget the cold/hot packs as well.
LOL - we all want to help pug! you're getting lots of sympathy and empathy here!
okay---thanks for all the advice
bbl
bye Peach
roses6 - is that rose from a bush of yours? very pretty
Bye Peach
wish I could say it was - though the roses are looking fantastic lately. this is the season!
Rose, how was work for you this week
Mine havent even got blooms yet
it was good, pugs. much better starting later, and doing only the one hour.
That's really good news, Rose. Positive.
Am very glad for you Rose. No pain either
not in the knee or muscles of leg, no
what about Don? Has he went for his shoulder yet
What's wrong with don's shoulder?
oh yeah! thats good! About time
don't make me laugh!! i have reminded him several times to ring and make his appointment. but, nooooo. it's easier to sit here a bitch about it. *sigh*
are we talking about Don or Wor-lol
liz, don has a tear in the supraspinatus tendon, and a large spur. he has a referral to our specialist.
Ouch. Poor Don. Does that cause a lot of pain and what part of the body is that????????
well if he dont get it fixed, he will be sorry when you guys are on your world tour
Just what I was thinking, pugs.
spinatus - to do with spine?
poor Rose you will have to do all the packing of luggages
all up near/in the rotator cuff region of the shoulder. if you put your hand over your opposite shoulder, so that the heel of your palm is reating on the top of your shoulder, your finger tips are right over the rotator cuff.
OK - thanks for that. You need to get stern with Don - withdraw favours til he sees the specialist!!! LOL!
now move the whole arm backwards and forwards, that muscle is part of the rotator cuff
what kind of favors Liz-lol
Any kind Rose wants!
laughing
Can see how that's painful and limiting in his movement.
The threat should be enough!
or rather any kind of favour don wants....lolol...bit late for that now. you could have suggested it yesterday.
LOL! Effective from now!
hmmmm, may take a bit before it is effective....lol
my girlfriend, Carol is down to camp so I will have fun with her. Yesterday we had a little b-day party for her 4 yr old great granddaughter
lol!
Sounds lovely, Pugs. So good for you to have your friend nearby.
lovely pugs, for you and carol.
thats not right Rose if you have to take it--lol
we missed you yesterday, pugs. were you sleeping in? or rushing to get to work?
the 4yr old and her 2yr old brother and a cousin thats 6 all wanted me to take them hiking and they were cute--they all had to have a walking stick like me--we had a nice time
BBL - need to go and shower off this sunscreen from our walk earlier today. Hugs. Yes, I know it's in the grid but I can't get into this bracket business!
lol, enjoy the shower, liz
I havent slept good since I dont know when--I was having a down and out spell, Rose
later Liz and dont slip on the floor-lol
pugs, how gorgeous. and as th4 were so small, it meant not too great an effort needed for you to keep up.
walking does seem to help my back though
awww, my poor pugs. sorry to hear that, sweetie. (gentle hugs and kisses).
so what time do you start work each day? and do you walk or drive to work?
I been wanting to write you but its just hard to put such things in words
I work from 7am to 12pm
just chuck on the page, pugs. i am very good at reading pugsese now.
lol--okay Rose
I am doing better now though
just one of those bad days when all seem to be against me
you poor darling.those are the hard ones.
Have you heard anything from Joso or Zoom--been thinking of them both
oh, and i caught up with zooz, passed on condolences etc.
hellooooo
are you doing better on that, yourself Rose---I know you were there too here awhile back
crossy says joso is on night shifts, so am guessing thatis why we haven't seen/heard from him.
Hi neniac
:_) nenia, hello dear.
<3
well Iam glad he found a job and I know he must be glad too
that doesn't look right. let's try it again...:-)
this is a holiday week end here in the states--so Iam off until tuesday
nice, it will give you a chance to experiment and find out what works for your back. btw, what sort of work are you doing?
We make all kind of gaskets for like semis and whatever and use several kind of material--like cork to rubber and we also make the gaskets the goes under like kitchen falcets etc
We make all kind of gaskets for like semis and whatever and use several kind of material--like cork to rubber and we also make the gaskets the goes under like kitchen falcets etc
they have really down size there. There is only 10 of us working there
then you were very fortunate to find work there, hun. someone is watching over you.
yes I was and He was for sure---but I am the only christen there
let your light so shine...unquote. you know what i mean, don't you?
I do
Matthew5:16
I will look it up after this
three are on drugs :(
which is sad, I think
oh and pugs i am reading an incredible book called ' in the steps of the Master' the writer goes to palestine, israel, jordan etc and traces His journey for the 3 years of His ministry.
I bet that is good Rose
fuel fuels
it is lovely. and i am learning more about Him and His ministry.
hello mari, nice to see you, dear
we are suppose to know this sunday if the new pastor will take over--I dont want to join until I see how He is
Hi Mari
who wrote it Rose
brb
need to go for a bit. next chore awaits. bed to be made. see you later. it's a very old book pugs, written in 1952-4 i think. by a man called H. V. Morton
okay Rose--love and hgs
and back
welcome back :)
our Sprite must be sleeping in
she had a busy day yesterday. shopping and cooking
thats hard for her, I know
or she may have had a bad night with nasty dreams again. * sigh * i wish there was something i could do to help her.
I know, I pray for her every night along with you and OO
i'd offer to sing her lullabys, but that would probably give her more nasty dreams. i sing like a frog with a sore throat...lol
now kermit sings and he dont sound all that bad-lol
to know that such a beautiful mind is being tormented like that drives me totears.
yeah, but he hasn't got a sore throat...lol
what else can be done--or we do to help
I like men bass singers
love her, pugs, with all your heart and mind. she is a very special lady.
I do all three of you
plus a few others but not as much due to I dont know them as well is all
good morning dear friends
Back
and i you all. plus a few more, th4 know who th4 are. i hold you all up in prayer, even if you don't believe.
there she is!
Hi again and hi sprite :)
and here she is....THE LADY OF THE MORNING!!!! xoxox
morning Sprite--love and hugs
re hi Liz
nice to see you as well liz...lol...{{hugs}}
we was just talking about you Sprite--were your ears burning-lol
*hugs* to you all :)
talking about me? *scrolls back*
all good stuff! who could say anything bad about you
awwww those are such kind things to say about me. Thank you. And hmmmm about saying bad stuff about me... not naming names, grin.
no wait....too late...now she's gonna have a big head as well as ....* ducks, shrieking with laughter, behind don*
well not from us anyway
*giggles* Walking so far next to my shoes that we need a double door opening to enter a room now!
whats you going to throw now? You guys already ruint all the pillows
*pours bucket with water*
roflol, pugs
she still has the water pistol...
super soaker fight!
* squirt, squirt*
how is our Sprite today
i was referring to pugs...she's the squirt here...lol...*chucks a loaded sponge at pugs*
and how are you today? Liz, are you well? Rose, how are you coping with all the bodily stress? Pugs, how is work going? And is the pain a little less now?
why me? lol
ther, now she weighs a decent weight, dripping wet....
why not??
yeah Thanks Sprite, you made me feel better and its going to be okay and work is going good--my only grip is my back
Everything's fine here :) using iPad and watching 24 - so only half paying attention right now :(
all good, Liz :) *hug*
sprite, have taken it very slowly today. nearly 6pm and all that is left to do is have a shower, and wash the hair. it took me from 9am to 5pm to do all my chores.
Stephen Fry playing British prime minister! Type cast!
was thinking about that, pugs. Your back muscles will have to get used to the new demands too... things might get better once they do.
stephen fry is so brilliant
its not from working Sprite
wow rose, well done pacing yourself. Not easy.
Rose after the supersoaker, you surely dont need a shower now
from what then, pugs? Stress?
but i did them. just kept sitting down every half hour or so. even doing the bathroom, i took one step at a time.
not at all bad, rose. And did you spread the work over several days as well, as you said you would?
no soap in super soaker, thank goodness...sprite got me right between the eyes.
I wish I knew Sprite--it started a couple months ago and just keeps getting worse---yesterday I think I od on pain killers and it didnt ever touch it
just pure water, rose.
giggles--bad Sprite for doing that to poor Rose
yes, dear. i did one bathroom and it's attendant washing yesterday.
very proud of you, rose. It isn't easy changing our patterns. And you did. *hug*
bad sprite? Hmph cleaning her up out of the goodness of my heart and then this.
sprite, we have advised pugs re cold/hot pack regimen, and to use a ball between her and a wall/door to massage sore spot.
I cant believe Rose is at last doing as she should--lol
pugs, please have the doctor look at it?
good advice, rose
I will tell her when I go in a couple of months
the pain is high up, sprite. sounds like between shoulder blades, and ribs.
its right almost where your bra comes together
pfft, pugs. ;-P
That's too long to wait pugs. You might do some damage but in any case you shouldn't be in such pain for all that time.
I have never had back trouble all my life
that is a known stress zone. Please don't wait several months, pugs, go sooner. Let the doc check it out and maybe give you advice on how to handle it.
I cant chance it be something to lose my job right now
All the more reason not to leave it.
you can't chance it getting worse, pugs. The doctor is not going to call your boss, so getting her look at it won't hurt your job.
Sprite is talking good sense, as always.
no but if its something to cause me to have to take a leave--I wont
I know--but I already owe them people enough now
so, then you won't, pug. That decision is yours anyway. At least you will know what it is and what can be done about it.
I'll stop nagging now!
I might have to borrow some of those druggies stuff at work--lol
I will try calling after the holidays and try getting in--okay
lol that would a quick way to lose your job :)
please do, pugs.
np Liz
hi all, got up to see the meteors but there were only a couple
Can't believe with only 16 left, I just found the needle case! That one should've been obvious! Come back Jilli!
you mean borrow from the druggies Sprite? lol
Hi Sue
hey double U sue :) Sorry about the meteors.
yes pugs :)
Hi Usue
well, one of them was pretty spectacular, so I think it was worth getting up - would have been nice to see more, though
lol Liz. Babble blindness.
As ever!
I will try getting in Sprite next week---:)
hi ya sue
anyway, nice to see you all!
*smiles at pug*
how was your shopping and the dinner Sprite
oh yesterday was odd. It was like the little bears in the bed, lol. I had planned to make garlic soup and a spinach bread dish for 4 people. Then Caya asked if she could eat at a friend's.
then I planned to make the flounder recipe from Liz. Then my son asked if he could go away for the weekend with a friend.
and then my beloved didn't know if he would be home for dinner or not, lol. At that point I gave up. Ordered takeout. Done. :)
Carol is down camping for the week end - so I will be down there alot over the weekend and that will help
Easier for you! And the recipe to look forward to!
good for you! So what did you order
ah that will be so good for you, pugs.
indeed, Liz :)
I think so too
Just made granola! Have it on fruit every morning. Yummy!
sounds good, Liz
Too good - too easy to go and take some when I feel hungry!
how do you make granola?
I'll send you the recipe. Most fiddle bit is cutting up the fruit!
I'll be back!
awesome :) Thanks Liz!
I was telling Rose earlier I took a 2yr old, 4yr old and a 6yr old hiking yesterday in the woods and along the creek. They each had to have a walking stick--cute-lol
aw that is awesome, pugs :)
the little 2yr old boy cant say my name and calls me anthony-lol
awwwwww oh dear, I am melting. That is so sweet.
so what plans do you have for the weekend
lol when I was little, my grandparents had a neighbour who was called Jo. I was asked to call her Oma Jo (Oma = grandma). But I always called her Oma Majo. Because I knew the world Maillot and in my mind she was Oma Maillot.
lol--my cousin's little girl use to call me EE--I dont know how she came up with that and now that shes in her twenties she still calls me EE
not many plans here. Tomorrow is my son's birthday but he won't be home until somewhere in the afternoon. Will give him his gifts in the evening, probably. In the afternoon will go hear Caya singing.
I think it is so cu4 when children adopt names for us.
is this his 18th b-day
yeah me too
yes it is, pugs.
you making him a cake
no. He will barely be home at all. Just the presents, and hu4.
what did you get him
we got him a watch, all black, very nice. And a pillow with build-in sound system, for snoozing with music without ear plugs. And for him and 3 friends a couple of hours fun in a WipeOut thing. Will get him some snacks as well, he loves to snack.
nice! I havent ever seen a pillow like that around here
I like that song wipeout-lol
Something like this: http://tinyurl.com/qaw53h5
I got all his presents with huge discounts... kept an eye open for them for months.
will check it out
thats smart and good
:)
caya doing okay
since Iam working I wont get to go to Gradyn's school award thing next friday. so Iam going to send him a card with a little money
yes, she is, mostly. Had a long talk with a friend of her ex-friend. I got the impression she was ok with the results. It is always hard, stuff like this, those girl friendships are always so intertwined.
yeah it is--I think it is at any age but the first time seems to hit the hardest
aw that is sweet, pug. Sorry you can't go.
yeah for teenagers, their peer group is everything.
Rose must of fell asleep on us
was just thinking the same thing. Squirrel!
nearly, not qu5. contemplating my navel...
take out all that lint since you are at it ;)
well, how did that get there? am thinking i will have my shower soon. in nice clean bathroom. :-)
OK sprite - recipe sent. It looks complicated but it really isn't!
thank you, Liz!
So you're going to mess up your nice clean bathroom?
yw
I hope you enjoy it.
well guys Ive been up all night, think I will try for a couple of hours of sleep before heading to the campgrounds so I wish you each a blessed day/evening--love and hugs to you all
Sleep well pugs and feel better :)
Hugs
I hope you will sleep well and have a lot of fun at the camp place, pugs
hope you catch some good zzzz's, pugs. and i hope you day is spectacular. xoxox
Clue for the sq word pls
rhymes with what you use to hang up laundry
sq5, sq + most of what you use to hang clothes on the line
Thanks. That must be the only combo I didn't try!
lol smack those monkeys
Lol!
*snort*at least she didn't say 'spank' this time...
Lolol
*grin* No gu4 around today, so saying spank the monkey isn't enough fun ;)
for which we are truly grateful...lolol
hehehe you know you love my wicked sense of humour :)
A very good type of humour.
twin to mine own, sprite. of course, dear. btw, is your hubby easily shocked?
fireflies. Not as bad as I thought at first, this grid.
WTG SPRITE!!!
WTG, sprite. 8 left here. Might finish them later.
Rob? Lolololll he is married to me... nothing shocks him anymore. No, he has a great sense of humour, thank God.
close, Liz :)
roflolol, exactly with don. good...we are going to be great together, and put the pugs into the mix...oh, my, what a time we'll have.
Same here. Can't imagine being with someone with no sense of humour, wicked or other!
it is what I tell my kids... what to look for in a partner... forget looks. Go for kindness, the ability to let you be yourself, and a sense of humour compatible with yours.
rose, if only! That would be so awesome.
sharing a joke/laughter together everyday is the recipe for a happy marriage.
Can't wait to hear all about it!
sprite, dear, it is going to happen. i don't care how much it costs, it is going to happen.
oh I couldn't agree more. Sometimes something happens and we only look at eachother and then we are laughing so hard. The kids say it is embarrassing.
Gotta take loads of photos.
rose, that is gonna be so great then! Omg, being able to hug you guys for real!
oh yes, Liz. I am not a fan of being in pictures, but for this I will make an exception. Loads of pictures!
well, ill bring the photographer, how's that?
Me neither but some things are special.
ohhhh that is true, Don is a great photographer! He might even be able to catch me in a non-ugly way, grin.
like new grandbabies, and long-time friends meeting for the first time.
(I am the moron who always has eyes half closed, or mouth half open, in photos)
You're not ugly!
no, I am not ugly, just not at all photogenic.
sprite, my darling, you are NOT ugly ( which btw is a phantom).
6 now!
go go goooo Liz!
c'mon liz, you can do it....
5
oh Liz, lol, your link for the puzzle did not work for me. Then I went to your page, found a great puzzle of emblems, made it while thinking too bad it isn't bigger... and then I noticed you had it in bigger format as well! Am gonna do that one too.
hmmm oxymoron, someone who has soaked in sard prewash....
But 3 have 6 letters
you know there is trouble when the biggies are only 6 letters long, lol
Don't know why the link didn't work. Rose said the same. Jbp asked me to are my puzzles about 100 , so I'm going through them doing that now!
6s: 2xC, F, 2xH, 2xL, Q
okay, 6's are co, cu, fi, ho, ho, li, lu, qu,
and the L biggies are stupid words
why do i bother?? sprite, we are gonna have to do something about this mind thing we have going.
I don't mind at all, sister of my soul :)
Huh! Missing 2 x l6!
thought so
you are so gorgeous, sprite.
Li6: L + eskimo house with mixed up last syllable + vowel
And co 6 keep trying cohosh!
as are you, rose.
close, Liz, Change last letter for the co6
almost, liz, try sharing a tv show
Thanks for that.
Lu6: Lu + vowel + nervous habit
Thanks sprite. Still thinking about TV show.
Have it!
liz, co + compere of show?
Now for an s5 and a t5
good job!
whoot, liz, you the one!!!
tu5/18, sort of hat thing
sh5/12, almost a piece of weaponry to stop swords, arrows
Sh 5/12 the middle one after shoeing a horse.
Th 5/12 - neither should be hard with that point score.
sh5, sh + the w***d, planet we live on
T + some babbler we won't name is an ass****
th5, t + what we lower the coffin into
Thanks. Tried that before but now see auto correct changed it to a wh 5!
oh, my, sprite....lololol
ah, impossible to do babble with an autocorrect!
Fireworks thanks to my good friends:)
wtg Liz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WTG LIZ!!! you rock, girl
No, you both do. Thanks.
ok, am gonna go. Big *hug* for you, my friends. Lovely start of my day with you. May you have a blessed day and a peaceful night, all.
enjoy your day, my dearest sprite. what plans for today?
Hugs sprite. Have a lovely day.
Almost dinner time here so have a lovely evening Rose. See you tomorrow, I hope. Hugs.
getting the last little gifts for Tim, go listen to my daughter sing in the park and probably, do the groceries. Unless my love's elbow is better.
you too, liz. see you tomorrow. xoxox
*poof*
xoxox sprite
Li6 anyone?
hey ya ruru. how's NYC?
good morning
li6, li + most of seabird + vowel
and my darling ruby. hello sweetie.
{{rosie}}
ruru, li6, from l in first column
How are you feeling? We have wonderful weather, rain at night and sunny in the daytime. Flowers!!!
nice dear ruby. doing well. have taken my time and finished all my saturday chores.
Nyc is awesome
Having a great time so far
hello ruru
Hi rubes
say hello to NY for e. If you get to Chinatown, try to have dimsum for brunch!
I am working today sorta
when do you hook up with dorens?
Sunday
It will be great to see her
okay, will be thinking of you both. hope you have a great time. and what are your plans til then?
I am doing a lecture today at my friends wine store
Then cooking dinner for 9 or ten
hope your friend supplies plenty of libation.
Yep..15 wines
egad, ruru, are you nuts?
It is a tasting..not a drinkfest
so you spit it out, no?
the lecture or the dinner?
The lecture is 15 wines..dinner is three wines
that's better...
Did you ever see "sideways" with Paul Giamatti?
whew...i thought we would have to wipe the floor with you..lol
Lol..i am not that big a partier
Yes ruby..cute film.
That wasn't his best film
so, what are you cooking for the dinner?
No, but the subject matter was great and I loved the cast (and, incidently, the story)
Lamb chops...mushroom compote..roasted potatoes..beet amd blue salad..and a shrimp dish
sounds ambitious and tasty
Its easy for me ruby..
This time it will be out family style
nice
Last time i did 6 courses ...was too much work
beet and blue salad?? what's that?
I used to cook elaborately but not any more
Two color beets..plus blue cheese..arugula..oranges and a balsalmic dressing
It relaxes me ruby..i love to cook
We used to entertain a lot but now I cook one thing for husband, another for the pups and something else for me
One thing?
Husband likes spicy food, so I'll make a big pot of something for him for a couple of days, plus a salad, shrimp cocktail and fruit salad
Then, boiled assorted meat for the pups
Then whatever for me, mostly vegetables
Ah ok
I used to make couscous with all the trimmings
Now that i am single .i cook whatever i want
And Indian food, including homemade breads and deserts
thanx ruru. sounds interesting. could you please send me the recipe?
Sure gr
When I was between marriages and lived alone, I always cooked for myself
You could use roaring 40's blue in the salad from aussie land
I once made an Indian buffet for 12, when I was a faculty wife
Those days are long gone!
That sounds challenging ruby
I used to love it
I cook chinese. Thai.. some indian..and other styles
dinner being served. ruby, ruru. hope your days treat you well.
Mostly curries
I never learned to cook either Thai or Chinese
Yes night i should try to fall back asleep too
Thai you would like ruby..mostly veggies and light cooking
I learned to cook Indian when I lived in London and learned "tricks" from Indian friends for American substitutions (it's hard to find Buffalo milk in Binghamton, for example)
I love Thai food, just don't know how to cook it
see you later, kids
Bye
outta here. enjoy the grid. xoxox
good morning everyone
*popping back in briefly* crossy {{hugs}} i finished 'hard times" moving on to ' a tale of two cities" i am proud of me.....lolol
yaaa for rose!
*giggle* thanx crossy. it was amazing. the last 4 pages were riveting.

Looks like it's going to be a nice day here, sun is out, sky is more or less clear
could not think of peg, all i could get my mind to dredge up was clothes pins
lolol, ruby, crossy male of the species. probably doesn't hang the wash. just sticks it in the dryer...lolol
beautiful day here as well, sukee
i do laundry, just call then pins, not pegs;)
beautiful night here
so, crossy, how do we/i clue pegs?
i am just saying how my poor excuse for a mind works. your clue was quite correct of course
we are watching a dvd...heath ledger as ned kelly.
awww, crossy. if you call them pins...i have to think of another way to clue the last bit...how about sq + product of female chicken, minus last letter?
i wish i had a 3rd of your mind capacity...
That clue helped me granny, ty :)
good, sukee.
sadly, i have been in an apartment setting for a while now and it has been many years since i have had the joy of sleeping under sheets that have been kissed by the sun and freshened by the breeze off of the bay:(
aww, crossy. there is absolutely nothing like sheets dried in the sunshine and wind. the smell is like nothing else.
okay, it's or real this time. i am going. xoxox
tc rose and have a good sleep

lol, rose. I read through the typo. Did not even see it untill you pointed it out. All seasoned babblers should be fluent in typonese
Finding this puzzle easy with Lickety :)
But then, I hit the ho s :)
i try to make myself work for these small ones and do not use lickety until the last 20 or so. Yes, I am into pain and self-abuse:)
I usually go through it once to see what pops up, then I work from the title state, then I use the list
And the hos are done :)
morning!
All things considered, "ho words" is probably a better way to go than "hos" : D
LOL
Good morning Enomis

When asked in 1993 why The Professor couldn't just fix the boat's hole, Bob Denver said, "He absolutely had no talent for boat building." The Gideons, who went on to place millions of Bibles in hotels, prisons, hospitals and military bases, first did so at the Superior Hotel in Iron Mountain, Montana, in 1908. How can you tell snail tracks from slug tracks? While your typical garden slug leaves a continuous trail of slime in its wake, snails leaves more of a dotted line, since they move forward in an up-and-down fashion, kind of like an inchworm. The area where Washington, D.C., now stands was originally a mosquito-infested swamp. It took years to drain and clear the land before our nation's government was moved to the city in 1800.

How is mom?
Slowly improving and probable discharge will be in 2 wks or so, but she is very pessimistic right now about being ready to be at home. She hates being at the nursing home but she feels safe there.
slow process
Yes. I will visit again today, take tomorrow off, then go on MOnday and Tuesday. I will spend time cleaning her house today and Monday, to make it safer for her.
will she be home alone?
You and her would love talking to each other--she spends so much time reflecting on her childhood and all of the Italian folks, the family tree, who stayed in Italy, etc.
I have a cousin who is our family historian and does all that.
What was your maiden name, mia amica?
Rago
a rather common name
Signorita Rago. And your parents came from Italy too?
No, actually my great grand parents.
We have been here a while.
Do you know when? My grandmother came from Napoli in 1912 and my grandfather from Sicily in 1914. My grandmother's 122 birthday is Monday.
1880's
I enjoy hearing all of the stories, don't you?
yes, I do.
My family originally lived in Brooklyn.
and then Manhattan.
Have you ever visited Ellis ISland? I have not, but I have been on the website and found the ship manifestos for my grandparents and other relatives.
My grandparents settled in east Utica which was all Italian.
I have visited, but did no research there.
One branch of my family lived upstate when they first came, but I don't know where.
They left because there was no Catholic church.
Interesting!
yes, imagine.
My grandmother would not let my uncle be al altar boy because of known abuse of altar boys by priests in Italy!
now, that's interesting.
Yes, it is not a new problem at all.
I finished the Q after finally seeing it.

Hello grannyrose! How are you doing? Welcome to chog.
Hi Min. I hope your clue story was totally fictional. It was fun to read, though.
What's Irish and lies around in the sun all day? Patty O'Furniture.
LOL, o-o. Not much chance of it doing that this Bank Holiday weekend in UK - rain from coast to coast!
Hi Jacul! Yes it's fictional,however, I DO like McDonald's.
Hello o-o! How are you doing today? Welcome to the grid
I signed in to see if my friend Linda, someone I played a wordgame or six on FB with and then recommended she come here, has signed in yet.
Min - Maybe Mac in USA is different. Fast food, I hate!
Hello friends. I have had a busy day and need to relax. Is this grid relaxing or annoying, please?
bugs - it
it is a nice grid - enjoy it.
thanks Dianne. I think I will jump in
Having said that, we had hot dogs for dinner last night - 2 versions. The first was cooked (for himself) by my O/H using what he called 'proper hot dog sausages' from a jar, with onions, proper bread rolls etc. The second was cooked by me for me an my son - British pork sausages with onions and proper bread rolls. We read the ingredients on both types of sausages and, guess what? There was meat, herbs etc., in mine and my sons. O/H's so-called sausages ingredients list began with 'mechanically recovered chicken' (that's the stuff they sweep up off the floor) and then read like a chemistry experiment.
I have never had a sausage from a jar and that is probably why Jac
He got a bit cross when we went on about it for a bit, saying he'd enjoyed them. :(
I never had sausages from a jar either - and now I never will.
Dianne - glad to hear it! Glad to have done someone a service in life.x
Incidentally, the ones in a tin are no better!
Tho I must say the weiners hear that are considered Proper hot dog sausages are filled with unidentifiable things too
I bet they have a long shelf life.
Bug - I think weiners and hjot dog sausages are the same thing. Weird filling with casing you wouldn't eat if you knew what it really was.
That's why kosher frank are the best to eat.
Hi Bugsaw! How are you doing? Welcome to the chat log.
Hello Dianne! How are you doing? Welcome to the puzzle.
I am doing fine Min - enjoying a lazy Sunday morning.
Min - I'm glad your clue story was mostly fictional.
hey Minveryork. Went to an Irish dance concert today. It was fun. The little ones are so cute!
Does anyone need any clues for the grid, btw?
just the hard ones Jac ;) I just began
LOL, Bug. I have no idea which ones might be difficult for you.
that is why I don't know what to ask for, but thanks for the kind offer.
co6/24 - if you and I stand up on a stage and chat to an audience, e might be co6/24ing a show.
*We not 'e'.
got 2 words from that. Thanks
You should have got 3 words altogether for that group. bug.
hmmm...
If we are looking at pictures of babies, kittens or puppies,we might say, 'what a cu5/14', or 'what a cu5/18'. Cu6/30 is the plural of the second version.
li 6/27 li+ a mix up of the 4 letter word for sticky liquid you would use instead of paste (does that make any sense?).
I found those thanks
Bug - co + hooker. Plural that. Then the doing a show together word you've already got.
Thank you Jacula! You just clued last word I need.Hooray
I am finished! I have fireworks! co6/24 was my last word
I am still looking for the hooker...
Well done, Min!
I'll be here off & on until the flip to clue if you need them
YAY for Minveryork!
Bug - I hope the post you just made about still looking for the hooker is never copied and pasted out of context. ROFLOL
oh yeah... oops!
Just the first two letters - no pro words or rugby word needed, Bug.
I found the li 6 finally!
Don't know if you will be able to view this link the Kylie and Hugh Jackman playing innuendo bingo. It's hilarious.

Jac, you mean the fish! I didn't know I had it until I looked at the list LOL
Oh! I need to find my tiny url to post that again.
Tiny url done. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p01z7\n6mr
sq5/20 = blend of a squeeze and a peg.
found it!
tu5/18 = the French/Canadian version of the French for hat or bonnet.
figs
we all call them that here Jac. What do you call that kind of hat?
A bonnet.
I called them "watch caps" until I did a lot of crossword puzzles.
Don't know anyone who uses tu5 in real life
Kind of like early, but enclosed at the sides, baseball caps. LOL
Hello rastapopolous! How are you? Welcome to the grid.
people don't wear bonnets here any more. They referred to those hats women wore to protect them from the sun in the 1800s
Hi - just cleaning up the last few, trying to look up the really weird ones
Not many people here in UK use the word bonnet any more, except for we writers. LOL
Jac is giving great clues rasta
I'm done now, just trying to learn a few new words by looking them up what the heck is lu6
et4/5 (last one) - French needlecase.
oho - don't want to be lu6, that's for sure
A bonnet to me is made of gingham, has a visor and strings.
lu6 means sufferinf from syphilis.
A tu5 is knit and is for cold weather
me too rasta
ye4/6 (speaking of cold weather) is The Abominable Snowman.
yu4/7 = the Christmas season.
py4 is another lovely word. I think we should write a poem about this stuff.
Any more clues needed or has everyone finished?
I think I am good now thanks Jac. Only 33 left and once I opened the list I was away
Haiku about pus (just for rastapopolous)
Pus, the relief/ho outpouring so good/that feels better!
*hot
Stricxly speaking haikus should be about the seasons not pus. LOL
No sign yet of my FB friend, so I'll be off for now, I think.
It was so nice of you to stay so long and offer clues. Do you know her name on Babble? If I see her I can tell her you were here.
Bug - she hasn't joined yet, so, no, I don't know. Her name's Linda and she's from Iowa, so welcome her and help her out re the way we clue etc., if she gets here when I'm not here.xx
Congratulations rastapopolous on fireworks!Good for you
but that haiku is only 4/6/4. Aren't they supposed to be 5/7/5 ?
Will do
I must go now. Happy Babbling all still struggling with the grid. xxx
It's only thanks to lickety and morewords alas.
5/7/5 - but it's 5.03 am here and maybe I miscounted, rasta.
What are you doing up at 5:00 Jac! Cripes!
Award winning poet nips off to bed sharpish, having got her haiku wrong.
Bug - I'm called Jacula because I'm the mistress of the dark and a night owl.x
rasta, still here? it's mom
That is just WAY too early for me. My heart doesn't beat until at least 9:00 but I still am tired by 2:00 ish
well i guess she's gone--i want to know the word she thought shoukld go in a poem. I just wrote one about a cow's tail.
you guys and your poems are hilarious. I love Cows with Guns
actually jacula people take considerable license with haiku syllables--rasta knows that--
bugs, my grampa gave a bride a cows tail just butchered--she didn't know what to do with it--never heard of oxtail soup. she and her husband, our herdsman, took it miles away and buried it. Grampa had really given them a handsome gift, though not wraoped like in the grocery store.
