I'm trying my very best saanich..
whoa, the gang is all here. hugs and hello everyone.
sorry for you Ruru--hugs and hope its better for you tomorrow
hope your whole life is better too
I'll get some Peace and quiet on the weekend.. just have to survive one more day this week
That's tough Ru. Hope the days better tomorrow.
How's your day been Rose?
are you going away for the week end Ruru
no.. but i'm seeing my nephews and that always cheers me up.. taking the eldest out for a private driving lesson to get him less afraid of learning how to drive
Rose and Liz if you go to my profile I got a surprise for you there
in your brand new car???
that will be nice Ruru--hope you survive it-lol
yes
I hope so too LOL
busy, hydro, then up to doctors to collect some signed forms, to the bank ( it's pay day!! yippee!!), over to jeweller's to pick up my new ring, lunch out with done. been home about 1 hour.
Lovely pics pugs. Thanks for posting :)
sounds busy Rose--are you sore Rose
You must be exhausted rose.
I promised and got it done at last-lol
yes picking up jewelry is exhausting rose
Glad you did.
hello pugs, you are exactly as i pctured. well done you.
Lol
diamonds are very heavy
thanks :)
You look lovely
knee a bit sore, the only thing which is exhausted is don's wallet. it got a really good workout today...lol
those are my kids-lol
Just the way things should be rose.
makes it easier on his back-lol
They're lovely too.
Lol
thanks Liz
that is one chubby pug
shes healthy Ruru-lol
the dane is beautiful
is that a pit bull too?
do they all get along the dogs?
Iam not real sure of her breed Ru--I got her from the pound
I love the adoring look on the annapoohs face!
yes they all get along--the pug is the boss and the dane is afraid of her-lol
I think pugs are so cute.. really they are such characters
Did I get the name right?
yes Liz
annapooh? Is what?
Phew!
The pug.
oh.. that's her name?
annapooh is the pug---beulah is the dane and else is the other
elsie?
yes Elsie is the tri color dog
okay..
all three are rescue dogs
You don't talk about her much.
which one sleeps in the bed?
the pug Ruru
oh.. lol thought so
Is that where Dylan sleeps?
yes..he's a cuddler that one
she also has hair everywhere! From the bed to the car--lol only thing bad about her
Love cuddly dogs.
give me a break pug.. own a couple golden retrievers and you'll never complain about hair again
I vacuum every day
its hard to wear dark color clothes due to her hair
Is your icon Dylan or just a random dog?
I brush her often and it dont help much
that's Dylan liz.. that's my dog
Beautiful.
jilli helped me frame the picture
he's cute.. his father was gorgeous
He is, isnt he Liz
i'll go fetch a picture of his dad
How is Jilli , Ru, havent seen her for awhile
My brother has 2 springer spaniels. Father and daughter.
I miss jilli but glad she's keeping busy with Great Dane stuff.
those are pretty dogs, Liz
They are - also affectionate.
are they the red speckled ones
The male is a bit speckled but the other is mostly white.
I'll send you a pic of them.
okay, thanks Liz
if you refresh liz... there is a pic of Dylan's poppa
I haven't seen jilli in like forever
ooh hes a beauty Ruru
A real beauty.
he was a really gorgeous great dog
he was the #1 Golden in California for many years
Pic sent, pugs. It's a couple of years old though.
I think Dylan is just a pretty Ruru
he's the father of the National Obedience Champion
thanks Liz
Dylan is a very nice looking boy. .very cute face.. well built and very smart.
They do have wonderful temperaments.
Pugs, the lab died in December.
She was my favourite.
labs are wonderful dogs
they do and are suppose to be smart dogs too--are they not Ruru
goldens are very smart pugs
sometimes tooooo smart
ahh thats too bad Liz--beautiful dogs
Lol
I know they are used alot for the handicaps
they are great therapy dogs for sure.. and great guide dogs and companion dogs.. they are very devoted dogs ... like labs
you don't see many pug guide dogs :D
I have never had a golden but have owned labs--very easy to train and laid back
:)
in the organization I worked in with my previous dog.. there was a pug that was a great therapy dog for little kids
lol--I dont think I have seen any
me neither pugs :D
pugs are pretty hyper and bullheaded-lol
hmmm.. most of the pugs I've met are pretty laid back
bullheaded I could see
Don't know that I've met many.
well mine is but shes like a jumping bean too--before these dogs I had pits and boxers
my pug is much like a pit in a smaller body-:)
I have seen them mostly around dog shows.. might be different a bit for dogs that are around shows and people more. I don't know
true Ruru
Are the j's usual words?
they are sorta biblical liz
Hmmm!
How old is your dog Ruru
he's going to be 5 in december
My dane Beulah will be that in nov
I refreshed my picture to my previous dog.. Dylan's uncle.. the love of my life
oh, he is a beauty Ruru
yes he was.. incredibly beautiful..sweet as sugar too
Sure is :)
did you show him? Though that dont look like something you would wear
There will never be another like him
we showed him as a pup
he became a champion as a very young dog
lol pugs.. I don't look good in skirts
I can see why--he seem short in the pic, was he?
no.. it's just the way the photo was sized.. he was mid-size.. smaller than Dylan though by 15 pounds
Dylan is a big, big boy
yes, he looks smaller than your dylan
he takes up the whole freakin' bed
I was about to ask whether he left you any space!
get a bigger bed--lol
I have dreams of falling off of buildings and cliffs and realize he's pushed me to the edge of the bed
So practical! Lol
Lol
lol--he wants to get close Ruru
his head is on the pillow next to me .. I kid you not.. he's right next to me all night.
maybe you should put a matress on the floor on your side-lol
it's going to be quite the scene if I ever have someone stay over :D
Warn them!
My old boxer was like that and wanted a blanket too
Love me, love my dog!
well it is his bed too
I like boxers a lot.. nice dogs
I had a deaf white one that I used hand sign with to talk to
wow
you will just have to go to the guess room Ru then-lol
amazing
that's not the point pugs :D
Dylan would follow
be back in a minute.. have to brush my teeth
well as Liz said--they would have to except you both
things going good for you Liz
Very good thanks :)
How about with you.
great! My back was killing me yesterday due to the press I was on at work but other than that just fine
Are you enjoying being back at work?
yes very much so--its a nice break from here
That I can understand.
I always liked it there before
I worked there about 17 years ago for over 10 years
Are there other people you can talk to or doesn't the work make that easy.
What kind of press?
a large punch press Ruru that you walk in
not while on the press Liz--too noisy--but when stripping out parts then we can talk
That's good - I'm happy there's a chance for you to talk to others.
we make all sorts of gaskets from cummins semis to delta faucets--from out of cork to rubber
Oh
when I worked there before we had about 40 workers now its been downsized to about 10
OK. I'm outta here for a while. Thanks for the chat. Hugs.
hugs Liz and enjoy your day
Bye liz
you feeling better Ruru
well, I'm away too. Thanks for the fun dog chat! 'night all
Yes somewhat better
Bye saanich
nite Saan
a good night rest should help too Ruru
Yes that should help if i can sleep
you need to try and clear your mind, if you can
do you meditate Ruru
I never can do that pugs
I know its hard to do
I medicate.. not meditate :D
LOL--its not healthy Ru to carry that junk around in your head all the time
Rose must of fell asleep at the keyboard
That is what i was thinking
Or that ring is so big and heavy she can't lift her hand to type
LOL-might be that Ru
she might be paying don for all that money he had to spend on her-lol
Woopsie
haha, pugs. just letting you folks visit without interruption.
ah she got her hand up-lol
well you are apart of the group too Rose
i told all my doggy tales the other night. don't need to be repeating them.
Our Wor must really be sick--three days in a row now hes not been on
well I didnt hear them
Rose my sugar was down to a 101 this morning :)
yay, you, pugs. well done.
Iam hoping to stop the pills the next time I go to the doctor
Iam going to get the Bvit. and try to get the other today
good pugs. i hope they help you.
me too-:)
you have big plans for the week-end Rose and do you celebrate father' day sunday like us
oh, yeah, it is father's day. i can tell you one thing for sure. don will hear absolutely zip from his kids.
thats sad Rose
don's dad is under a rose bush in our garden, and my dad is under my mum in the cemetery.
are you having a dinner or anything for him
though my dad didnt get along, I always remember him and mom on those days
haven't thought about it. it's kind of hard when your head is screwed up with drugs, and discomfort. i'll talk to him, see what he wants to do.
I understand that Rose
do any of your boys pay him honor
yes, they do, or they used to do so. but now their dad is dead, i'm guessing their heads will be full of him.
it will make him feel good if someone remembers I would think
brb
Hugs and bye Rose. going to head out--give Sprite and Wor a hug if they come on
sorry i'm not good company tonight, pugs. i hope you have a good day, hun. xoxoxox
Could I get a clue for jo7, please?
jo7 is a female name
ladies name, plural. start with the maid of orleans.
good morning all
hey ya sprite, xoxox
got it does the jo7 build off of that?
*hugs rose* How are you today, darling?
if you mean jo8, boy version of name with *ell, hades as the third letter
that is a dutch name, that 8
up and down sprite. been really busy, just getting stuff done. and you, sweetie. good night, bad night, indifferent night?
bad night. But good evening, had a lot of fun with the girls.
jo8 it is eluding me
:-( sprite....
okay, jo + *ades, hell + girl's name + plural
thanks got it
your beloved it is the grid, rose
yes, sprite.
has our pugs been and gone, and off to work?
yes, hun. she and ruru had a good chat about dogs.
am glad she had a nice chat with ruru. Sorry to have missed her though.
her back was bad yesterday. she was on the press all of her shift.
ouch, poor thing.
okay, you have my undivided attention. sorry sweetie. was watching the alternative endings to ' silver linings '. very funny, intense film.
np rose, real life comes first
no, you are part of my real life, too. i was being rude.
*hugs* all good, dear friend
Hi Sprite and rose again :)
have you seen " silver linings "?
hi Liz :) Are you well?
wb liz
no rose, I haven't.
Just a quick revisit!
Thanks for the Jo 9
did the chog die or are you guys just busy?
just sitting quietly, waiting for you to come up for air...lol
lol! I answered your question about the movie.
oh, did you want to hear more?
of course! Would love to.
it's a feel good movie, jackie weaver, robert de nero, jennifer lawrence and bradley cooper.
oh nice!
bradley cooper plays a young man with bipolar, just out of institution, living with parents, jackie and robert. he thinks he is still married to his wife, who has a restraining order against him.
aw :(
it's about him trying to come off meds, then realising he does need them. then he meets jennifer, and they enter a dance competition. some of the lines just cracked me up. all delivered perfectly.
sounds good, writing it town
down*
if you can find a copy, it is worth watching. not black humour at all.
Sorry. Back just to say bye. Alls very good sprite. Catch you both soon. Hugs
we thought it was weird, jackie playing robert's wife, but strangely enough it works.
*hugs Liz* Have a good one!
ummm, sprite, also sitting here watching the hockey world cup. australia won their match, and the netherlands won theirs. they are talking about us playing for the championship....what a buzz!!
us, as in australia and the netherlands...
lol :)
i'll wearthe orange, if you will wear the green and gold...*giggle*
lolol ok :)
that netherlands goallie is amazing. she actually fended off the puck with her foot.
sounds like a dutchie :)
in our match one girl scored a goal between the opposition's goallie's legs. it was an amazing shot. this level of hockey interests me...they are so skilled, no matter which country they are from.
I never watch sports. It just bores me to death.
well i'm a bitser, i like a bitser of this, a bitser of th4. but it all must be top quality, or like you, i am bored, bored, bored.
:) You are a lovely bitser.
EXCEPT....... when it's a bunch of under 8 year olds racing around an oval, trying to grab a slippery ball. then i laugh and laugh.
I might like that, if one of them was my grandson
give it time, sprite.
urghhh yes! Not yet. Let them kids enjoy their young lives for a bit.
fireflies
WTG SPRITE!!!
*hugs* my darling. May your night be peaceful, your day blessed... and your tv watching fun and relaxing.
thanx, sweetie. and may your day be kind to you.
do you have a busy day ahead?
okay, she is gone. * sigh * will hang around to help if anyone needs a hand.
good (late) morning
rosie, are you stil here?
yes, ruby. are you okay, sweetie?
I read over the chog and I LOVED that movie!
ahhh, {{hugs}} it was very good.
what's funny here is that although the movie may be in English with French subtitles, they translate (usually badly) the title, so I never know the real name
good. a 21 year old burglar who bludgeoned a baby of a few months to death for disturbing him during the burglary has been sentenced to unparoled 32 years.
bad story! ugh
he has shown no remorse whatsoever. i just said to don, it sounds like he has a mental disorder.
for sure
tahoe
whoops, but not a word
half and hit a wall
back later
maybe see you then, hun
{{rosie}}
ya5, just realised tomorrow is saturday...i get to sleep in...

Not foggy but awaiting the deluge

I was sitting at my computer yesterday and a coyote carrying a dead robin walked by my window.
well, that's something. I didnt know there were coyotes in CT.
Yes, lots of them. We live in a built up area, but surrounding it are wooded areas and fields
sorry to barge in and then run out..must leave to get ready. be back later.

Is the JO 7 a shorter version of the JO 8?

sa 5/14 please?
thanks! car!!
for the JO 7, take out the second vowel.
Whoops...you need the 8 too....JO8burg is a famous city in South Africa.
And I think you meant consonant not vowel

hi all
hi peri and ty for the information. . . too lazy to look today. . .
Of course it is because every freakin' obscure form of currency ever heard of is in the Enable word list.
very true, Molls
is there also a jo7?
yes
is it similar to the jo8?
yes
I am looking but not seeing it
<===sharp lawyer mind only answers what is asked
I will ask for more help In a bit
drop a letter
sorry i botched that *smack*
ah, got it ty
obviously i need to sharpen my lawyer mind. . . haha
yw
I learned that from a lawyer acquaintance (yes, I said lawyer acquaintance). The answer to "do you know what time it is?" Is not 5 PM. It is yes, or no.
that looks like a girl's name that should start with a capital J
that is correct molls. . . pedantic but correct
i would think so too peri but who are we mere mortals to question enable?
anyway this mere mortal must go off and earn some money. . . the mortgage company doesn't think babble fireworks are enough. . . .

Happy Freakin Friday, y'all!
*Does a little Friday dance*
Hmmm. The 13th. Where's Scrabbler? We need enough rabbit feet for everyone.

Cute rabbit feet, with rabbits attached and alive. Just thought I'd clarify that.
now how am I going to goof off the rest of the day......hmmmm!
Congrats, River! You go goof, girl!
thanks -- need any clues before I go?
I'm good, River. Just getting started. I'll probably be whining in about 15 minutes tho.
happy whining then - off I go to other fun adventures.....
My office is overrun by tiny marauding ants.
Trying to protect my coffee cup from being carried away.
Marauder ants, the worst kind.
Argh mateys, we'll be stealing Judi's coffee and hauling it off to the ant hill.

good morning, all - this should be short and sweet!
Hi all
as4
hi cybernan
not so sure about the sweet part.... ;o)
ty molly...
hi sukee
ay 4/7
I wonder how much that certain social network pays to be mentioned in the grid so often?
The other one is ay4...which I thought you would get right away, Pen
Ty cybernan I didn't see that word
duh....ty!
I'll get all pedantic and say that ya5 is a search engine and not a social network. : D
True
Although, there are lots of chat groups
ya5 is also an email service, and these is some kind of social network inside it, but i don't use it and don't know how it works
i think of it as an email place....
isn't it both?
thought they had a chat feature now too
it is all of those things...
Think I have hit the wall at 38 left
uh oh, i have 38 to go also . . .
May have to go to the list
Well, it is primarily a search engine that offers other services as well.
Did you hear that David Tennant is going to be on Masterpiece Theatre beginning this week Gwen?
I'm just picking nits : D
nope, but then, i don'
what's the show, sukee?
> don't have cable
Sounds good looks like a legal drama. Oh, sorry. And they are saying they can't stream it online.
however, i can have a friend DVR it for me 8-)
PBS Gwen
I don't care for it, but as it becomes more powerful and takes over other things, we are forced to use it for some programs....e.g. Flickr photo sharing site.... only available through it now.
yep, i do remember masterpiece theater from back when i had the cable
I never use Yahoo
Except Flickr of course, but I'm lost that password.
me neither
I've
PBS is one of the reasons I keep basic cable.
stats for corner e, please?

jo8burg South Africa
ty molly -- thought that was a proper noun
Ty molly :)
me too
29 left and haven't gone to the list yet
Portuguese currency...add that to the other thousand weird currencies that Enable says okay to.
what is a jo8?
interesting
A Portuguese gold coin minted in the early 18th century
well that's a roll of the tongue word <gg>
There is an echo in here : P
:-)
I saw a coyote with a dead robin in its mouth in my yard yesterday
oh yuck!
While the dead robin was nauseating I don't like to see a coyote in a suburban area
dangerous to pets.
Bichon was this in Ct?
Pets are snacks for coyotes.
I wouldn't let your dogs out except on Leash for right now
right
Yes, right in Middletown. We live in a highly dense residential neighborhood which is surrounded by trres and clearing
hiya Ru!
This is why I would get an electric fence
good morning hego
*trees and clearings
I never knew we had coyotes here in the east.
scary.. coyotes are stalkers and smart
thinking of our Brooklyn Babbler as I type in ca6.21.. hi all
lots of cougars in New York Hego :D
hi Aloy!
We see them a fair amount, but further away from our house
Yes, Ru, in the north part I thought.
I used to see Coyotes all the time in Saint Helena
(-: wonky internet this morning, so I've been lurking.. posted twice but they were lost in cyberspace so I refreshed, then rebooted
I meant in the Bars in New York City hego :D
Oh in Ca, they are everywhere.
lol ruru
lolol, Ru I'm slow today.
You gotta watch those older broads who go after younger men
Ruru how was Mormon?
hysterically funny.. it was terrific
great!
dinner was great at NoMad too
except my friend got plowed on Champagne
I can imagine.
good for him.
.. not Doren..
her
Fleur de Lis is closing.
Her, then, sorry.
giving up on the j 7 -- thought it might be a single 8 :(
she powered down three glasses of Bubbly on an empty stomach and got really drunk
Was she okay?
yes.. it is kind of a dinosaur in the SF dining scene.. he's had a great run..
my sister's name, pl!
just found it.. but Jo has a hyphen in her name
she got vertigo.. Doren helped here and was a champ
I'm glad I got to experience it, though.
Can I have clue for the jo 7/48
I enjoyed it.. it's not SF's best though. Keller is really talented
Doren to the rescue!
ty
Yes Keller is a legend.
*!*~*!* ta da *!*~*!*
congrats Nan!
add the Queen's daughter, pl , sukee
hego, just saw that you are a Jeopardy fan. We watch it every night.
Did you love Julia?
hagd everyone -- see you tomorrow :)

But the 7/48 does not take the jo 8/70 singular
Okay, let's guess Gwen's nickname. Toot.

hi annie
Hello babbleworld *happy Friday dance*
Hello, everyone! I'll dance with 'ya, Jilly!
*joins hands with mimi*
Of course, being Friday the 13th and full moon, perchance we should be on broomsticks!
Fri. 13th has always been a lucky day for me. My first child was born on Fri. 13th the day before Valentine's..I always called him my lucky little valentine.
Of course....his father (my ex) was also born on a 13...
This is the only Friday the 13th this year, and there is a full moon, and there are solar flares
Friday the 13th has always been lucky for me as well:)
Mimi! I have a son who was born on Friday the 13th too. I always consider it a lucky day.
((crossy)) We're so in sync it's downright scary!!
How nice of the sun to celebrate by sending up flares!
See, Molly...it's all what you make of it, right?
Can I please have a clue for ca 6/21?
Had a really difficult time with our first procedure today, but all turned out well. Friday the 13th lucky here as well for my hubby, born on a Friday the 13th..lucky to be married to hi
Yes indeed it is.
The last one
The doc I transcribe is on vacation so now work for me until next Thurs. I have projects galore to attend to!
NM, found it
And next time a Friday the 13th occurs on a full moon is in 2049! Not sure I'll be around for that one!
But the lady I work for made me really angry yesterday and I had to just push it down, as usual, for fear of being fired....HATE THAT!!
yes. and me with a bad foot. no dancing wildly tonight.
TO, I will moon dance in your stead.
I did send an em reply to her and she EDITED MY RESPONSE telling me I should have made it shorter and used different language....how rude and pretentious!
:)
Dance wildly in your head, TO...works for me!
*Pours Mimi a drink* Here's to the rude and pretentious!
So how many of us will be playing that Van Morrison song tonight?!!
I know what your'fe feeling mimi....I applied for a position in Recovery Room, more hours, less stress than endo, my boss told me she didn't know about me changing as she needs me in Endo...ya, you mean all the times she has questioned my hours!!??
*accepting drink*
How about a clue for ha 5/12 the first then?
I won't be playing Van Morrison. One of my friend's bands plays that song so much that I am beyond sick of it.
i will be seeing the pine leaf boys tonight.
It surprises me that mine is so defensive and doesn't ever offer praise since she has done this work for quite some time. She just cannot accept any challenge to her, whether real or perceived.
Oh, but Molly, no one can play it like Van!!
IS today no clue day? I was ignored earier too
sorry sukee...I'm doing grid...will look
Fine.
Sorry, sukee...maybe no one has those? I just started, so I have nothing.
sorry, phone...brb
This is a tough grid, imo.
i have one ha 5/12= a group of medevil merchants sounds like what is at the end of your arms
like the one before it with different end
now i have the other:))
When you ask for a clue, and don't get a response, it is not about being ignored. People may not have that word yet, or people who "seem like they are around" may be busy with other things.
or not listed
Going to get some lunch and then start a project...love being able to putter around my home. See 'ya later and hugs all around.
yup. life happens. For example, I am playing babble and doing my summative assignment for law class;) I may be slow in responding:)
sukee did you get the word you were seeking?
tc mimi
back...hello crossy dear!
and TO...meant to tell you that we can put you on wheels to dance!
<---!!FW!!
howdy, jilly and yaa for FW!
Well, pretty easy grid today...
How long til summer break crossy?
end of next week i believe and the exam is on the tuesday the following week and we are done for the summer:)
Then the great outdoors will be at your beck and call!!
I go back in september for a 6 week university Writers craft course and i am finished
my beloved and i get out for a 5k hike on the Bruce Trail every other day:)
Wow! Great...and good job "ole" man!!
lol, we pack some water, a Lifestraw some trail mix and our hiking stick as we are off:) In my pocket i have my swiss army knife, a Firesteel and a Fox40 whistle around my neck> Am ready for anything nature can dish out:)
and DEET, lots and lots of DEET:)
I'm hearing here that the mosquitos are HUGE this year. We are heading to Yellowstone on the 4th of July; will be hiking to avoid crowds for sure! And will have bear spray!
huge?? my god! I can almost batter them and fry them up for a shore lunch!
take a whistle, jilly. Just keep it on a lanyard around your neck. has tons of uses and one of them is to help with bear issues
and about 50 ft of paracord, to string the food up in a tree to avoid attracting the bruins overnight:)
our local black and brown bears hate loud noises. I have seen it make them wince and go off in another direction;)
I would love to see a B.C ghost bear:)
but that is on bucket list
Oh, my hiking stick has built in whistle...and we'll have our son...noisy one...so all is good.
Yah know what a tourist in a sleeping bag is right?
taco?
lol
biab.. semi-poink!
Soft taco...LOL
Heading out.... *full poof*
meanwhile, back in the scrabble lab...."hey! Let's make a wicked tiny grid with words no one EVER uses!"
babble lab, sorry....friday....
you got it, sistah
Hello proud graduate mother.

Doomed wives, so many of us...
Same word, plural, with a cons inserted after first vowel, for the 8.
Beah ha ha Molls! N
Eh... Bwah ha ha!
Did you ever get to watch The Tudors Molly?
thank you got them
Another minor miracle! A Soodleclue that was uderstood. Yay!
Have not watched The Tudors.
Have you watched "24"?
Do yourself a favour, Molly, seriously. ... Watch it. Don't worry about following the storyline (you know it already). Just sit back & wallow in the beauty of Jonathon Rhys Myres, Henry Cavill the beautiful women etc. it's a Middle-Ages Downton Abbey that stays good till the end!
No. I haven't watched 24. Should i ?
Yes. Jack Bauer (Keifer Sutherland) is the most bad badass there is in a series that will keep your head spinning through all 8 seasons.
I don't watch TV shows based on how much I will drool over the lead character. I am more interested in a good continuing story that is well written.
I cannot find my last word, the first to5/12. help pls.
to5...2000 pounds + the note before re, mi, so, etc.
ah, ty Molly
FW
I have never watched 24 or The Tudors
bye for now
Could I please get a clue for et5, please?
No et 5 Marc
Hmm. The Drool Factor influences Soodle.
Sorry en5
En & what a thespian does...
A country will often en5 laws to protect it's citizens. And the one who does that.
whew.. I thought Soodle said Lesbian
I don't mind the drool factor if the story in question is worth watching. But as far as what I like to watch, it's more about good writing.
You were lovin' it, Ru, & don't deny it!!
not my thing soodle.. talk to crossy :D
Ahahahahaha!!!
I must say, I perservered into the final, ludicrous, season of Prison Break for the eye candy.
How's that old jalopy of yours going, anyway, Ruru? (<------absolutely pea green with jeasously for your car.
been driving it every day now.. my other vehicle is in the shop
it's pretty nice..
If I had six pack abs.. it'd be more fun :D
even 4 pack abs :D
Absolutely CLASS car. I am well impressed.

Did you know that xylitol (used in sugarfree gum and candies) is 100x more toxic for dogs than chocolate is? I certainly didn't (although I do now!!!)
I knew it
we are more pragmatic up here. We just lean over the forms at tax time, hold out our arm and open up a vein:)
i did not know that suze
So the pups got into some of my son's sugarfree gum, and went to the doggie hospital overnight to get their blood sugars back up - fortunately they seem none the worse for wear, although I can't say the same for my bank account
how much gum did they eat?
Yoiks. An expensive lesson, Sue. Are the doggies ok now?
well, we really don't know, all he found was the chewed-up outer wrapper, could be several pieces
my guess is the little one got into the wrapper in the first place - he likes to chew stuff up although he doesn't actually ingest much, and then the big one took over and ate the rest.
anyway they seem to be fine, had some more blood tests today which we should get the results of tomorrow, but they are their usual perky selves
Yay Sue.
but when we took them to the doggie emergency room they both had low blood sugar, so it was good we took them in
"it is amazing how things you would not even dream of in your nightmares suddenly blindside you on some random, sunny tuesday afternoon...
meanwhile Frank's CT scan came back showing enlarged lymph nodes, so he has a PET scan scheduled for Monday, and we are anxious about that
I have a very depressed dog here this evening. My daughter emigrated to England yesterday, and the dog absolutely knew she was not coming back soon. Poor Daisy has been slouching and mooching around the house for the past 24 hours.
hope franks tests come back fine suze
oh, dear, they really do miss their people, don't they?
I hope so too, crossy! I'll put something in my profile as soon as we know.
my second cancer was in the node system. that was the one i had to do heavy Chemo with:(
Praying for good results, Sue & Fraqnk
thank you all! I have really relied on my Babble friends through all this - you all have no idea how much you mean to me!!
Hello all. Reading the news and sending positive thoughts to all my Babble friends.
hi gmere!
yes, many oncologists, though no fault of their own, end up treating a symptom, or a disease, not a patient. It is nice to bounce your cares and concerns off of people who have been there, done that, and come out whole on the other side:)
Hi uu. We had our Murphy in for a check up and he has antiinflamatory medicine for a coupel fo weeks.
indeed it is, crossy! although we have been very happy with both oncologists so far.
ah, hope Murphy is ok, gmere!
Going to play games with Murphy now. bbl
tc stidmere
bye, gmere! Hugs to stidmama for me!
Sue, speaking from personal experience... if a babbler decides to share a personal difficulty, fellow babblers rally round. It's quite amazing, and truly awesome how much support can be garnered from the good people on Babble.
((((soodle)))) you are so right!!
((((Group Hug))))
ohh.. it tingles...
fireworks!
yaaa for suze!
better go walk the small dog, then write some problems about gravity...
Back with congrats for uu!!
I added a picture of the dogs, home from the doggie hospital, to my flickr, so you can see them on my profile
bbl!
one problem is gravity seems to increase in direct proportion to our age as we get older.
hey all, just sitting down... nice to put my feet up!
and now it is time for Crossy's quote of the day!!!
"Madness takes its toll. Please have exact change"
howdy, stidmama:)
cross, I just "fixed" the water heater that had the air intake all clogged up... I would say the problem with gravity is that it works most on the little hard-to-see screws that are integral for putting things in the right places... and it seems to have a knack for drawing them into the dark corners...
LOL on quote
ahh yes, the agony of getting teenie-tiny screws back to where they used to be:(
(but we irish-types are persistent, if not smarter than gravity...) ;-)
I have a pile of magnetic screwdrivers and sockets for jusr such emergencies
and a nifty little magnetic retrieval wand that is basically a magnetized retractable antennae
the magnetic screwdriver did its best, but the screws were determined! LOL
good for digging them out once they fall into crevicies
naughty screws!
OH! *facepalm* Tom has a wand like that somewhere... but in which box??? *sigh* I will have to find that this week and put it in my toolbox
yes, they are very handy
how are you and the lovely mrs cross these days? I have missed "seeing" you!
she is fine and sends her best. I am done my classes soon and have one more 6 wee university writers craft class in september and my beloved has decided to go back herself and take some courses:)))
our house is done... I am sitting in the living room with so much to put away, but need a break after getting up early today.
*waves at mrs cross*
yaaa! i did not know you moved into the new place:))
good for her! *approving mama look* I am taking the summer off this year, no classes planned unless something comes along that really catches my eye. Missed out on the one I wanted to attend when it filled up really fast.
how badly over budget did you go? lol
I don't have many pictures up, because yesterday was the last day of school and I want to "clear the decks" before I take a lot of pics...
budget? what budget?
my descendents are indentured unto the seventh generation...
a old contractor I used to work for gave me the golden rule of any construction job once: "take your initial estimate, deduct 10% for deals and good material purchases, then double what is left and you will be close"
evening all! right column done
howdy, dan:)
howdy
we actually stayed fairly close to budget, using most of the money from the "contents coverage" on the upgrades and deciding to use the furniture we had put in the storage locker (as too old/stained) and the few pieces we bought for the apartment... and the few large wooden heirloom-type items that we had cleaned after the fire (they still smell and look bad, but some steel wool, primer and paint will fix that this summer).
hey dan!
bottom row done :-)
your friend was wise, cross!
hiya stid!
sounds like a good plan with the reclaimed furniture
so the house itself is pretty decent, but the furnishings and "decorating" is a bit lame. LOL
it is amazing what you can do with well constructed old wooden furniture
I used to often hit the re-use centres around here years ago, and several of our finer wooden pieces in the apt are things that were buried under 10 coats of ugly lead-based paind. have one that is solid oak and a small end table made of walnut!
yes, my grandmother's dresser is only sooty (they "cleaned" it supposedly, but I have to get the actual soot off myself it seems); the hutch and sideboard bases were mostly unscathed, but the tops were scorched so we are using the bases now and I will refinish the tops later. The bookcases my dad built were salvageable and mean a lot to me. So happy to still have most of them. :-) And my grandmother's table got scratched but was otherwise so covered with "materials" (my secret plan for furniture preservation) that it survived just fine... I recommend not having unfinished furniture, or pieces with lots of plastic bits. Those were not salvageable.
paint
wow! you are a GREAT shopper!
Ah, time to warm up left-overs. Best wishes to Stidmama and all who are working this grid (which I just completed).
and the garden is finally starting to take shape also --
Love you, Mother -- thanks again for the coffee earlier!
and YAY stidgmere!!!!
always look at the legs of the table or chairs or dressers, or the underside of drawers. they will tell you volumes as to what is hidden
hmmm. strange sound outside. better go investigate. brb
Good by to you, too.
I do not know what happened in the 60,s but everyone seemed to want to paint everything made of wood!
I have spent more time stripping paint off of 1900's vintage furniture that was buried under paint in the 60's:(
and those beautiful door frames in victorian homes. Makes one cry sometimes to see them.
tc stidmere
I wouldn't paint the tops of the sideboard and hutch (they were a lovely honey-maple finish) but the scorching is deep enough that if I don't paint I have to scrap things down too far. The bases retained their finished pretty well so I will keep them pretty much the same. I love wood -- it's an amazing material, and only paint it if it's something like pine or basswood that is too soft to survive real use.
going down to 5c tonight. summer is taking its sweet time around here:(
yes, if the scars are too deep, then there is no choice in the matter
if the scarring is on top or the side or another flat surface, and you have the patience of the gods, AND if the damage is in the right places, you can set a router to half the depth of the wood, remove the damaged section and do a wood inlay:) I did that once as a hobby, but no longer have the patience for it
that seems a bit chilly, even for you northerners, cross! It was cool here last night (for June) -- I think around 13. Inside, it is keeping to about 16 easily. Which I have discovered (this morning, when it was raining so hard and very gloomy) feels much colder when there is high humidity. So glad we added the gas fireplace for drying things out!
yes, i miss a fireplace:((
haat haot
the humidity was so high here 2 nights ago. our bed sheets almost felt damp
oh, I don't have the time or patience or skill to work on antique furniture in that way... I'd rather just paint it, and use it and know that my ancestresses will be pleased that I still remember them AND that I am thrifty enough to find inexpensive ways to keep things around.
yes, it is satisfying in saving good, solid old furniture
We haven't had a fireplace before in our married life together, so it was a little gift to ourselves. It's a nice one, though not big enough to heat the whole house, if the radiant heat ever fails this can heat the front part of the house with ease.
natural gas? propane?
and hello wht! :-D
propane, we live too far out for a natural gas line. Just got filled today in fact. Kept it under $600, which was nice.
I like propane vs nat gas. There is something reassuring about being totally self-contained with gas for heat and the kitchen stove.
they come every three months, and we have never (I think) had it need more than 200 gallons (500 gallon tank)
yes, they can only fill to 80%
yes, the range has a propane stove, but electric oven (last house had propane oven and baked goods just never worked right)
crossy used to run a propane station:)
Hello, everyone. I don't even know when I will show up in the chog.
that's right, I had forgotten!
but I love the instant responsiveness of gas/propane cooking
i can still remember all to old formulae. C3H8 the air gas ratio is about 9:2.1`
each cubic cm of gas expands to 240 times its volume on contact with air and it freezes(gels) at minus 40f
now we just need to get the generator properly tuned (after a year in stasis I am not sure it would even "crank" over) and installed and we will be ready for almost anything
love the stuff for cooking. I miss open flame cooking:(
good , good. is it a deisel genny?
we'll NEVER get to -48! too much water around here that moderates the climate -- not that I am complaining...
no, propane. Pretty old Honda, could run almost the whole house before, and probably WILL do this house (except the washer and dryer) because our heating no longer has the furnace with a blower.
if it has been sitting a year and is gasoline, remove the plugs and pout 2 tbs of thin 5w30 motor oil on top of the cylinder heads and let it sit a week
ahh a propane generator. do not see those too often
I wanted to have a single-fuel requirement, instead of multiple cans and tanks of different types. It's a solid work-horse, if a bit loud.
we used to have a full size propane fridge up north
yes, single fuel whenever possible is best
our hunt camp used to have a propane lighting system
Happy Friday everyone
howdy, gramma
When we have money again (pipe dream, with Grant getting ready for college soon...) I'll replace it with a unit that will turn on automatically. That way even if it's nasty outside the well will still work and the heat will stay.
hey gramma
Clue for the jo7/8 please.
You all are talking propane and I'm fighting a gas pipeline
The generator powers the little bit of electricity we use for the fridge and freezer and well, and more than enough for the small pumps that recirculate the heating water.
yes, all the large gennies we used to have, you used to have to test fire them once a month and manually go out and start them up
wht, I have 3 left and they are all jo's
yes, this one needs a monthly turn-over too
why are you fighting it -- fighting to keep it from being put in?
I don't have the J yet wht, sorry
Darn tootin"\
well, this is on site heating. no pipelines:)
Well the 5 is Casey *****
It's a high pressure transmission line
wht: german "john" and plural
ugh. I read horror stories about those hig pressure lines
sorry, that is the 8, it's "plural" only, not the singular
I don't know about those, gramma, but the natural gas line that runs through our county at the south end is always venting and it smells bad
thanks for the jo 5
There is nothing natural about this gas. It's all fracked gas being pipped down from

FINISHED!! VERY EXCELLENT!
nice work
wtg godthaab
best heat we ever had was the central wood furnace we had up north. We had a bit of acerage and used blow-downs and select cut in such a way that the hardwood was always there.
yaa for godthaab!
Thanks!
ya5 godthaab
We have a wood pellet furnace and it's great.
ahh yes, i looked into those.'
clue for the first to5, please. I can use some fish in my diet.
it uses a corscrew type device in the hopper to feed the pellets into the burn pan, correct?
Ours is in an outbuilding witha big hopper to feed it. It keeps this big old drafty house pretty warm on those cold Vermont winter nights
corkscrew*
Yes. it does
very nice:)
the feeder needs 110v though right?
to 5 is around painting
Yes. If our electric goes out we can have a mess in the furnace
just found it, thanks Gramma. It was twisting around the wrong way for me to see it.

Clue for the jo7 for fireworks
I always thought of to 5 as a drum
nm just found it
