We actually had some sunshine today! It was lovely -- once the really high haze burned off. But it's supposed to be cloudy for much of the rest of the week. I am tired of clouds... I want it to feel summery now that it's actually summer!

I think the heat and ambient sun get you almost as severely as direct sun... at least that is true for our family
I guess long sleeves and big hats and lots of sunscreen are essential then. I am sorry you have this problem. For me, the sun is one thing I really need.

I have pretty bad D deficiency... have to take supplements, but it's better in the summer. Otherwise, we are finally home, dee -- and the unpacking is driving me crazy. I keep having to go out and buy shelving and things so I can put things away!

the really exciting news (I think) is that, for the first time in 16 years we have an abundance of tadpoles in the fish puddle!!! One of them is actually starting to turn green like its parents... and all of them now have both sets of legs! So excited. The native frogs are called "waq waq" in Lushootseed, and their singing is so pretty. In April and May they are glorious to listen to.
I posted a few pics tonight -- I don't have the energy for a lot at the end of the day, but had some time for a change.

Frustrating stid. I don't know how you did it. I find things I like and can afford and then find out they won;t fit in the house without taking a wall out which I won't do, so I am back to planning . Now I think I will have tile in the shower area.

thanks flosey -- it really is good to be home. My garden is a disaster, but the "bones" are still good, so I am hopeful we can have some late crops (the fruit trees and shrubs are fine) and get things ready for next year.

yes, sprite, once a year, lasts about a month or 6 weeks. but the poor little darling was moulting for nearly 12 weeks.

actually, ruby, although hiking is fun and you get to see amazing things, it is the lazy persons way to fitness. Just walk. uphill, downhill, over trees, over boulders and before you know it, you have shed 20 pounds of fat;)
It is a beautiful and enjoyable way to be fit. Way better than being on machines in a gym, looking at a TV screen.
I wish I could walk as much as I used to, used to walk everywhere. Harfer with a walker.

I've said this before...told my kids when I die to scatter half my ashes over Ouray and the other half along the 17-mile drive in Carmel. That way, if they want to "visit" Mom, they get a nice vacation!

hi, all. I am having trouble focussing on things today. One of my dearest friends of almost 30 years is in the hospital. She has cancer in her lungs, breasts, ribs, spine and hip and I am seeking prayer support for her. She will have a procedure to drain fluid from her lungs today, and she is on morphine for pain. Also, one of our cats is having a biopsy today.

interacting with friends and family with cancer is critical. providing a sense of normalcy as much as possible is priceless and can often pull the cancer patient out of themselves and remember that cancer is what they have, not what they are. I was so grateful for the simple everyday things my friends and family did for me during my treatments. makes you feel human again

Just getting to court has taken over two years. What do they expect people to do? This is supposed to be there for our rainy days...well, it poured down on me and they didn't care at all.
We lucked out with hubby...but we had to pay a lawyer to do it, the judge reviewed our case (which had the diagnosis of Alzheimer's) and approved it without us going to court
I really think they hope many of us will die before getting to court. I know one guy who DID...had terminal cancer, was denied and he died.
It's a sad joke
I have a good law firm...this is all they do and have been in business a long time. No complaints against them.
The judge we drew has a 35% approval rate...she said it could actually be worse...but, of course, could be better. No choice, though.
Our legal counsel came from hubby's disability insurance company...vested interest in alleviating some of their burden
I'm just going to show up and look pathetic...really good at that by now.
