my oldest daughter did a semester in Australia when she was a sophomore and lived with them. I am DELIGHTED to host them here in an even small repayment for all they did for her

I do understand. It just aggravates me that every time I read ANYTHING now, no matter what it is, there is always either a typo or incorrect grammar.
When i edit, I go though and simplify complex portions and remove any weak or passive portions to aid in ease of readability

Dean Koontz has book out now that is such a pleasure to read called "Innocence." His use of language is nothing short of melodic and I can't remember the last time I read something so beautifully written.
I used to think of Koontz as 'Stephen King lite" a book to eat up while on a bus or a road trip , something that can be breezed through with little effort. However, I have grown to enjoy his style of writing and have several of his books in my bkkcase.

With this novel I am writing now, mimi, I find the key is to do some each and every day. A writing mind is very much like a muscle, and must be trained and used every single day. Even if it is only 50 or 100 words, as long as you get something down each and every day.
It is like grains of sand on a beach; one at a time they are nothing, but before you know it they combine and you have something resembling a novel
I've always been very weird about writing, crossy, and still wake up in the middle of the night and must write down thoughts/ideas. They actually make sense the next day, too!

I have found it is much easier for me to write fiction than this autobiography. Obviously don't have the same kind of "license" when writing about real events and people.

It is a rare person who will put forward the rough times in their life as a lesson for the rest of us to help overcome the trials in our own lives. It is well we have people like you, mimi, who are willing to share their experiences to help others.

I am getting excited now, reading the trail map. Last year we made a wrong turn due to a downed sign. We ended up hiking 4.5 miles to a river rather than 3 miles to a pond. Still fun, but it was 90 degrees, humid, and dominated by mosquitoes.
