haven't seen Tim yet, but Rob and Tim and Terra did. They had a wonderful trip. Good weather, great river, good company.
Didn't realise they'd taken Terra. That's real alone time!
Realised when I read your email.

Glad the canoe trip went well.
Almost finished Book 3 now.
Next is Winds of Fate
there it is, thank you Chrissie!
oh wow, nice going, Liz.
Enjoying them very much. The more the 3rd book continued, the less it sounded like McCaffrey.
Anyway, how are you?
yes she develops her own style.
I am fine. Only had really bad dreams last night. But awake now and starting to feel human again.
Occasional pinches - like I'm sure I saw Fellis juice mentioned as a medicine.
Did you have the dreams when you were home alone?
no, not one
Hm! Remove the stress, remove the dreams!
Have to send boyo off to friends more often!
yeah, most likely. But if I have to choose between my family and no dreams, I take the family with the dreams, lol.
Of course! I know that really. Just kiddin'
a few more years, I think. At some point he will move out, right?
I hope so! Not normal if he doesn't.

So so, started on a course of anti biotics yesterday, the first couple of days are not pleasant :)
But, other than a small sinus infection and a spider bit I am fine :)

From Lord Of The Rings, Strider

Oh sorry, I thought you were someone who had seen the movies
Lord Of The Rings clues are hit or miss in here

howdy,dan
Good morning/day everyone!
howdy car:)
oh i found it
does anyone else need it
Me too dan! Wheeeeeee
It's like Mensa in here, I tell ya.
:)
Puppy has so many toys...why does he chew on the kids ones instead?
because puppy is not dopey! LOL car
same reason the kids play with the boxes the toys come in instead of the toys themselves:)
or your cat like the empty shoe box better that the $1000 dollar custom made cat climbing tower:)
true dat
(to be fair, I bout a 100 dollar cat tower 2 years ago and it has saved all of our furniture) :)
bought
thee levels, two boxes to lay in, two ladders to climb and a kitty hammock:)
My cats love theirs too
but they still scratch my box spring
it is that or they climb on your plant stand, killing all your plants in the process;)
Don't keep plants
Got tired of them peeing in the pots and destroying them
WQe have learned from harsh experience that there is no sense in bringing a spider plant in here. it would have a life expectancy of 2-4 days tops
Occasional fresh cut flowers only placed on the microwave where the cats do not go
Why don't they go on the microwave?
Its on its own stand and is just not a place they have ever jumped on.
they go under the cart though
We thought we were smart once, and got one of those hanging pots and put the spider plant in a corner on a hook lag-bolted into the ceiling.. did you know a health Bombay kitty can launch himself a full 15 feet from a window sill and land on a hanging plant? well, we do now;)
Especially with all those dangling bits!
:(
They sleep in the empty hanging pot now as well
That is awesome!
=^..^=
Ooooh! Hawk screech outside my window!
cool;)
That is why I asked about the microwave. Seems like from what I have read here, cats climb all over everything.
he wants breffast
For some reason, not this, so I go with it!
Oh boy....rigth column grayed as well!
our cats, thankfully, do not climb on the kitchen counters
I'm thinking he may have just "got" his breffast and is letting others know to stay away from it
count your cats, car!
that must be nice crossy.
They are all indoor.
as are ours. I do not need them to become road kill
I feel bad about it, but it is for their own good.
Until I am rich and can build them one of those cool outside enclosures.
Oh that's nice. Honestly, cats on the kitchen counters kind of gross me out. My kids cat is constantly on their kitchen counters. Which is why I don't eat at their place much.
I clean my a lot
I just have the one cat that gets up there, and he is just doing it so he can drink from the faucet
our three cats drink a fair amount of water every day. i would say about a litre tween the three of them.
TU 6 please?
tu 6/30
a type of pasta
must be new pasta for me, not seeing it
bit of help with the L in the rightmost column please.
clued earlier...sweet smelling flower, purple usually? li

I had to look it up as well, babs, the babble dictionary had no reference for it. Found it it urban dictionary
ty babs, ruru
Hiya!
Got it. Ty
think of the ending of that large round pasta you stuff with rice etc
Fireworks!
Hi Hego!
yaaa for car!!
hurray for Car!!
Hi Car
how do you look things up in urban dictionary distinct from other dictionaries?
HAGD all!
I just seem to run into it a lot when googling obscure words babs, it just pops up in the search engine
And now it is time for Crossy's quote of the day!! This particular quote makes more and more sense to me personally as I continue my journey as a writer of fiction novels. lately the best course for me had been to overrun my word count by 20k or so, then brutally hack and slash my way back to 70,000 or 80,000 words. By that point it is just about right:))
Perfection is achieved, not when there is nothing more to add, but when there is nothing left to take away. —Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
You do a Google search on the word and "urban dictionary"
Like if you didn't know what hagd means, you would do a Google Search on hagd urban dictionary
the devils dictionary is also a fun one. If anyone wants this in epub reader format, just mail me and I will send you a copy

I like to find the words on my own too. But it seems many people enjoy asking for help and shouting out cl4s, so the chat archive is full of answers, for those who go that way.

Hi, Chrissie and Bichon
Hi jaxx
Are you ready for Atlantic Storm bertha?
I think you may be expected to be hit worse than us. Better batten down the hatches!
We had a beautiful day today though, did you?
It has been a very close, dark sort of day. While we need a storm to clear the air we could do without a downgraded Hurricane.
It was only january when we had all the floods and gales. Here we go again
Yes, you definitely had it worse down south. My daughter's road is still closed since a landslide in January
More rain in the UK jaxxx?
A Hurricane from across the Atlantic that has been downgraded to an Atlantic storm called Bertha. We have been warned to batten down the hatches, as Chrissie said. It is due to hit at 3 am in the morning
We didn't get it at all here in New England
Chrissie, where does your daughter live?
Godalming, Surrey
She lives at the top of a hill
The government promised all sorts of help but have been unwilling to cough up the funds.
perhaps she should have built an ark!
The town was flooded twice. We joked she would go home after christmas here and find her flat at the bottom of the hill, but we were only half joking!
I will suggest that to her :)
Too bad you don't have the equivalent to our FEMA
What is that?
Federal Emergency something something
Management Agency
Federal Emergency Management Agency
Oxfam were asked to help the people of Somerset but refused as this country is too rich. I now refuse to donate to them or the Red Cross who also refused.
We just have politicians walking round in wellington boots
That's too bad. Vote the bums out
'Call me Dave' came and made empty promises.
No plausible options bich, all a waste of space
Can't you get rid of those dudes and vote in some people who care about you?
Unfortunately, unless you live in Inner London, all politicians regard the West Country as disposable. There is only a population of about 2 million so few votes to be had.
Bich, their representation to vote ratio is different than ours.
I think if the governor of our state, Connecticut, did that he'd be out on his arse
Got one eye on the tv. Michael McIntyre, he is so funny.
You don't have county government?
We have one railway line and one motorway into the West Country. When the gales hit The railway was undermined by the sea and the mainline looked like a jungle bridge with two sets of rail lines dangling in the air.
You've been at democracy much longer than we have. You'd think your politicians would know what happens when they aren't responsive
We do have Local Government but that has become increasingly politicised over the years so it toes the party lines
A pity. You could try witholding your taxes. That works
They don't care, Bich, until the General Election when they arrive and spout hot air.
We have our problems with our Congress,, but people have long memories
hint for a 7, pls
As Chrissie said, there isn't an option. All they are interested in is lining their own pockets.
Where's Nancy Grace when you need her
cl 7 - cl + ou /14
5/14 even
Fa7 x 2 - end in not in and not on
ty folks
Fa7/56 - we met on that fa7 day

Before I eat dinner, I will tell you that states like Mississippi, which is the poorest US state, complains about federal interference, pays the least in taxes, and gets the most in federal aid. Go figure
Chrissie, my son has worked in the Godalming area. It's very possible that your girl has been stuck in traffic jams caused by myboy. He works for Southern Gas Networks!
Don't let politics give you indigestion bich :)
Clearly, the more noise you make the better
((soodle))
'The squeaking door gets oiled first'....
Exactly, soodle
Daughter works for UK Power Networks. Together they could bring Surrey to a standstill, lol
Hi Jaxx, Chrissie, Bich (if you're stillhere) & all. :-)
Hi Soodle
Lol Chrissie - ultimate power!
Perhaps she should join forces with soodle's son and hold Surrey to ransom until they repair her road.
I was very happy to get home a short while ago. There are severe weather warnings. I hate driving in stormy conditions.
Phantom - fluff
We were just discussing that Soodle. here we go again
Glad you're home safe Soodle
Home safe & treating self to a nice glass of wine. Bring it on!!! Lol
have you got a lock for that cupboard then, soodle
Jaxx is being siily, don't need locked cupboard for empty wine bottle :)
No need now, Jaxx. The offender has returned to the UK. My stash is safe:-)
Yesterday, soodle's drink cupboard was bare due to helpful off spring

First 3 letters of the preceding tu4/11 @ anagram of JR Ewing's commodity...

Blushing.... My cl*** are usually useless!
Another successful meeting then, soodle. Any ditties this time?
Not this evening!
Today's awkward moment. I meet friend who has been living in Spain for 14 years and the first thin she asked was how was Tim!
We did recite some Yeats poetry, though.
thing even
Oh heavens, Jazz. That must have been difficult for both of you.
I am not familiar with Yeat's work. I am a Philistine.
Google 'The Ballad of Father Gilligan'. Its a gem.
Especially as she has a brain disease and remembering anything is difficult for her. How do you answer that?
There we were in the middle of a supermarket of all places. She apologised and I told her as she was in Spain I didn't expect her to get our local newspaper! I didn't know what else to say.
When you are old and grey and full of sleep, And nodding by the fire, take down this book, And slowly read, and dream of the soft look Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep
Wow, molly, you clearly are well versed in Yeats.
I suppose you answer as truthfully and as gently as possible.
Wahhh, Molls. After spending the evening with Dad, those lines are haunting.
As it was 9 years ago this Xmas, I didn't think anyone was around who didn't know.
Very atmospheric.
(((soodle)))
That was the first one that came to mind, although The Lake Isle Of Innisfree is my favorite.
I am going to spend time looking up the works of yeats.
Finished. Going now. Take care all
Bye, Chrissie. Take care
((((Chrissie)))
Could someone clue my last word gl5/26 please?

Thanks Stid and Soosle.
Molly, I don't know if you can see my updated icon. It's Yeats' Bridge...
Maybe not. :-( My wine is gone. I'm off to bed to weather this storm. Good night all & thanks for the company. :-)

Hi there
It's a hard enough grid
Hi sukee. The small grids tend to have lots of words that can't be built on by useful pre and su fixes.
I just have 3 to find :)
oh, good for you sukee. That is a good feeling with the end in sight.

Today has been one of those summer days that started brightly and stayed beautiful and not too hot for comfort. We picked a few blueberries off our two bushes this afternoon. Enough for blueberry pancakes tomorrow. Hi harry!
