Congrats anike
Happy babbling everyone
fw!
Congrats TO
happy babbling, all.
cooee and g'day from me
hi, rose!! (feel like I'm talking to myself, lol!)
*giggle* i could make it so....
how are you rbud?
oh, pretty fine, nothing drastic has happened recently so I guess all is well. :)
not drastic is good. weather here has finally decided to warm up a bit, at tleast during the day. nights are still brrrr
been such a cool summer here it's almost scary - right now it should be hot and humid but I've got on a blanket as the night air coming in the windows is downright chilly! Strange year.
same here rbud. we have seen wattle in bloom, and some areas are still having snowfalls. our decorative pear doesn't know where to blossom or throw new leaves, so it's doing both at the same time.
not complaining as we haven't even had to put in our air conditioners this year - but it does make one worry a bit about what sort of changes are going on!
Air conditioner on here
lightweight!! ;p
Ha!!
just kidding. we're lucky in that we have a load of shade trees, keeps the house pretty cool.
but really not normal in the least for July and August. It's that polar thingie still acting up, I think.
It has been a cooler summer here too . Very nice
Polar thingie?
Gardens around here seem to love it, the fellow down the street has a bumper crop of tomatoes and peppers this year.
oh, whatever it was in the winter that kept sticking the Midwest in the deep freeze, lol
sorry, phone call which i had to take. now where were we?
the polar vortex, they kept calling it, I think?
Rbud is going on about pokar thingies
am not!!! (not poker, anywho, lol!!)
i'm with rbud, they are either thingies or oozymajiggerts
lol!!!! thingamabob...
oh, yeah, that's the word....lol
Whatchamacallits
yeah, those, too!
roflol....yup, that too, ruru
I sooo thought gazette should be here somewhere, but no luck. :P
oh, me too. except i tried the italian newspaper...gazetta
hello again - just spent the last hour with computer tech to fix a problem with the laptop
I'm on desktop
hi flosey
hi rose, now I have to catch up!
*hands flosey the riding crop. giddyup!!*
lol, thanks
Poor mr. Flosey
lol, right up your alley, ruru?
lol, he gave up with the laptop and went to bed
that's the computer I spent an hour with computer tech support fixing
and FW - whew
am exhausted after dealing with comp.tech support
WTG FLOSEY!!!
ty rose
but bless them, they seem to have people working around the clock!
now I'll do a jigsaw puzzle and unwind
hope your problems are resolved soon, flosey. what is the laptop doing? or not doing?
goodnight rose and ru, if you're still here
night flosey, enjoy the jigsaw
it was a program that wasn't working - just a call away and it's fixed
nice, flosey. so all is good again.
hello all
Hi all, hi pink
Hi all, hi pink
hey ya pink. {{hugs}}
Hi Rose
whoot hey liz, girl
Sooooooo?
liz, i put the cat among the pigeons this morning...lol
Tell me more!
Desperate here.
i asked workcover if they were going to pay me my wages when it was my employer who told me not to enter the workplace.
Oooooooh!
you should have heard the collective gasp. and my physio has been onto her "governing' body, and they are aghast at the way workcover and my employer are treating me. my physio says, just call her, and she will tell it like it is.
Wish I'd been a fly on the wall! So what next and how are you feeling?
And how did they respond?
and my union rep says no way until they sit down with my employer. soooo here i sits....and my employer thinks they have me over a barrel...
Can't ever imagine that!
no meeting today, as there hasn't been enough time for the rep to get the papers in order
did i email you about workcover saying they knew nothing about my FM?
No
That's not the case though is it?
well....my first E.R. report says quite clearly i have a past history of FM. and the two occupational physicians, from workcover, pre-op, both mention in their reports my FM. lol...how dumb do they think i am?
That's ridiculous! They're the dumb ones!
*giggle* i am sitting here laughing quietly to myself, being ever so polite when talking to the workcover insurers.
Like I said, fly on the wall! How are you feeling about it all?
i am okay. i have the funds to ride this out. that's my ace up my sleee. because my employer is under the delusion i need the money.
*sleeve*
Keep them thinking like that.
yeah, * grin * do you think a few tears are in order?
Definitely - liberal tears. How are you going to cope with no funds to fall back on?
but i do, liz. i can coast for nearly 10 yeaR
No. I know that but they don't and won't!
but i do, liz. i can coast for nearly 10 years
Keeping them in the dark about things they don't need to know must be best.
ahhh, i see what you are saying? yeah, good thought that...let them think that. mind you, i woke up to the fact that without being paid, my union fees will not be paid. i rang up, and paid in advance this morning. so now i get the union rep AND the lawyer free.
Canny lady! :)
*grin*
I'd never advocate lying but not saying too much never hurts. No more than need to know.
my union pays for my lawyer. it is one of the perks of my union.
That's a great perk!
Time for dinner. So happy to have caught up with you. Hugs.
there are some who say it is lying by omission...but if the question isn't asked, how can i give the answer
xoxox, enjoy, liz
Exactly xoxox
okay, time for dinner.will bbl. xoxox
Hello., today I s a religious "fete" day, but my housekeeper doesn't even know what it is! lol
Ascension, Assumption, Annunciation???
Assumption of Mary says Gogle
thank you Diane. This used to be a very Catholic country but, from what Ive read, only 10% of the people go to mass and not very often
And now, off to lunch. Because the people at this resto have been so nice to us, Ive made 6 pots of Mirabelle jam for them. Too much work, but I think they'll like something homemade.
*woof*
Could I get a clue for the en7 please?
en + folding camp house + vowel
thanks does the 8 follow it?
No, I have all the e words. I don't have the 8 yet.
OK
the 8 is te8/50
*pops in briefly to help marc* te8, extend the person who rents a property. xoxo
Thanks Eva - I had the te 6 but didn't extend it.
it's and odd form
You are right Eva - we are use to the word with a c in it.
yup
thanks I am looking for it
good morning all
good morning sprite
hey Marc :)
nasty hiccup!! are we back?
hi sweetie *hug*
let's begin again....{{hugs}} darling sprite. i'm baaaaack
welcome back, rose :) How are you today?
not too bad. sprite i set the cat among the pigeons this morning. workcover rang me about something different. but i ended the conversation with the question.....
which question?
are you going to pay me, when my employer won't let me back into the workplace to work?
oh, good question
lolol, i am surprised you didn't hear the gasp from there....
*giggles* And what what their answer?
something along the lines we will call your return-to-work officer and let you know...and surprise, surprise...i have heard nothing.
your sil is in today's grid, lol
yeah, i know. and why can't you add sometimes vowel is what i wa4 to know...
yeah. We have seen lots of fa4y behaviour. Anyway, work cover is gonna yell the socks of your employer, lol. Wish I could be a fly on the wall.
lol, that's what liz said...
:D
and my physio rang her 'governing' body, and they were absolutely aghast. she says to call her, and she will let them all have both barrels, no problem
oh how lovely. Am so glad you have all their support in this, rose.
next monday, tune your ears...i have an appointment with my doctor....i am betting she will go ballistic...in her quiet way...
oh, quietly ballistic is the most dangerous form. She might sent a letter to them if you ask her...
*giggle* i don't think i would like a letter from her when she is being quietly ballistic....
yes you do, as long as it is directed at your work...
anyway, my dear. have you had a good night?
ha
nope. horror movie night. A huge house with a party going on, and when people were somewhere in shadow, they became killers. Very odd.
oh, and i am so proud of you for remembering to take the extra magnesium when you start to hurt.
hello Bremen
g'day bremen. nice to see you
yeah that works miracles, rose.
and my feet and ankles remain normal, with the change of med.
ah that is wonderful. Am so glad, rose.
neertheless, compression socks are the order of the day for me.
fireflies. A rather tiny and easy grid
WTG SPRITE!!!
and what are you planning for today?
they help me too, rose. Don't have to wear them everyday, but yes, regularly
laundry, dishes. Bit of reading. Bit of gaming.
Good morning
hi sukee :)
yeah, if i expect a day when i will be on my feet a tad more, i make sure i have them on.
ooohhh, sukee...new icon
same for me, rose. Did I tell you how great they are with family constellations? Almost no swelling at the end of a day.
Yes, we were talking how people could not resist Babble :)
darn, sukee, i have refreshed, and your profile still shows your old icon. * sigh*
*giggles* We - are - assimilated. - Resistance - is - futile.
no, sprite, you didn't. what a blessing!!
control + F5, rose
tw6, please?
tw6 it between your fingers, Marc
marc, what you would use to remove a splinter or hair, minus it's last consonant
sprite, nope, did that, still the same profile picture, but new icon in chog.
thanks got it
when you open sukee's profile, click in that window. Then do control + F5
yay you, marc. well done
yvw Marc
that worked, sprite. gosh, you are amazing!! is there anything you don't know something about?
roflollllll don't start me on that :) Soooo much, rose. Soooo much.
*grin* i find that hard to believe, my dear.
*giggles* Trust me. But thanks. I feel smug now :D
smug is good...
Control + F5 is force-refresh. Basically you tell your puter to forget what it has seen before and just show you what is NOW. :)
we people could use a force-refresh option, actually.
af 6 plz..i cant see it at all...
absolutely....
and good morning all
hi ivesy, good morning :) Af6 = af + fighting, a mess, into the ****

So this group is rocking the Kasbah! not me, it feels like November here.
hi ruby :-)
whoot!!! and heeereees ruby. {{hugs}}
hi Ruby, I'll take your November over this yucky muggy heat.
hi wolvie. It is so cold, I feel like making a fire!
We barely had any summer, very odd for here. On the other hand, winter wasn't very wintry, either.
well do so, ruby. whatever you need.
nice and chill this morning here- but will be hot this afternoon :-)
I brought 6 pots of Mirabelle jamto the resto at lunchtime and they were delighted
Mons pays c'est l'hiver. C'est Novembre ici. ... A l'apres-midi.
good for you, ruby...and did you get a discount on lunch?
tadone!! finito! can't believe I ended with a 4/10,
bonjour dose

nice dawg! congrats
WTG LBDAWGER!!!
hi dose!
it's a small, round, yellow plum. Fairly rare and I have one tree
hi dose
ooh- sounds good
it's special but a PITA to cook up
took me 4 hours to make 6 little jars and that's not including picking
g'day doseffing
always the way :-)
i, unlike dawg, am bogged down at 20 left. must take a break and take the doggie for her bath- bb later- hagd all!
later, wolvie. hope doggie enjoys her bath.
hagd, Wolvie
wolvie, pls come and take my Raffie for a bath. She looks like the companion of somebody who sleeps under a bridge.
canning always seems to take forever.
*giggle* where did you say you slept, ruby??
And these small plums don't have a lot to offer, mostly pits. One of God's mistakes, like avocado
almost my pumpkin time.
getting rosie's cach ready

sleep well
have a good night rose
And now it is time for Crossy's quote of the day!!!
"You are a big country. You are the kindest country in the world. You are like a really nice apartment over a meth lab" - Robin Williams on Canada.
Miss you already, Robin
good morning all
howdy, teach
good morning crossy
Morning all!
Interesting little grid; It has enough teeth so that you have to respect it, but not so many teeth that you end up bleeding out over your keyboard.:)
Nice
howdy car:)
crossy, your te 5/12 are gonna bite you
thnx annie - missed that one
darn... off I go... i did not even see that word!
*bacon on the griddle*
got your addy, annie and it is in my contact list for those wanting postcards:)
mmm,bacon
thanks a lot, crossy, nice of you
I want one!
send me an e-mail, car!
OK!
Then you can send me your addy and I can send you taffy!
I have re-learned the love of postcards of late. They are very handy just to say howdy and I usually pre-stamp them for ease of use(except for annies, it will have a special, I know of this amazing polar bear stamp, but you have to ask for it special)
mmmm,taffy
back in a bit...must take Mom to her day program.
will save your seat
lol, I know that I am in heavy edit mode when I go though 50 pages of the book, make seemingly hundreds of changes, additions and omissions and the word count changes by exactly 2 words!
bbl
morning all, left column gray
can i have stats for the z and 5th column, 3rd row N for nbt. and for the 8 for nbs
ZA 4/11 and ZE 4/9
TE 8/50
ty for the z and the rest will have to wait. if i dont walk now I know i will sit here forever. bbl
enjoy your walk - and yvw
Happy Friday!
Eek! Tiny puzzle today.
howdy, judi
hello judi - but it is not too bad
it has a few te5/12. Careful you do not get nipped:)
morning friends. I have completely greyed the left column - FEAR ME and my mad Babble Skillzzzzzz
It is like one of those small yappy pocket dogs that run around your feet in circles and bark a lot
Ha ha! Me too, Trif!
yaa for trif!! you rock!
Three whole words. Let's see if we can even it out by getting the three words in the opposit column.
go trif
good luck, trif. The lone in in the far right column is driving me mental
lone E*
if you folks ever saw the utter NONSENSE I enter in an attempt to find words, you would all shun me from the flock, I swear
EN 7/28 is the lone E (i think)
it is, teach
it is like a gill net, trif; we toss out tons of the stuff in hopes of catching a single fish:)
ty teach
thanks for saying that crossy, says the woman who just tried "antfry"
only way to find some of these "words" that we have never seen before
ty, teach found the en7
well, we had anting yesterday
yvw
Care to clue that en7?
en+camping shelter + vowel
en+ camp shelter+ vowel

I'm going to go write your EXACT book today! hahahaha
lol, go for it. Do part #3 please
then send me the rough draft
could I please have a count for one of the a words in the top row?
I have an af 6/42 from the top
AF 6/42
AT6/18
ty crossy and teach - looking
AT 6/18
and judi - thanks!

Geez loueez. Been trying to get through to Subaru service for about an hour now. Busy Busy Busy.

:)
thanks, teach
Recorded message from Service now. Need first oil change and tire rotate. Left message.
I also need first oil change. thanz for the reminder
thanks
need clues for te 6 and 8
persons who rent property
a renter of an apt and extend it for the 8
thanks crossy, I had no idea te8 was a word
np:)
completed ta da
ty cross great clue. I was loopking the wrong way
congrats steve
huzzah for setve!
steve
** finito ** last word AN 5/10 - no list
huzzah for teach!!!! if you look carefully, you will find a tiny number all by itself in my profile - it's the number of grids I have completed with no list :)
....and I greyed the right column too! watch OUT!
25 - congrats trif
I have been a member since 2008....it's not exactly a stellar number, but thanks.
I also have been a member since 08, but I have never kept track of my finished grids, listed or otherwise:(
I rarely finish anymore. happy to hit nbt, nbs, and halfway
as am I
First year I used to sweat blood to finish each and every grid, but no longer
me too crossy - babble rather took over my life there for a while. there were some days when finish a grid was my SOLE accomplishment for a day...not too good, productivity wise
the first years i was still working and never had time to finish - but now i klike to try to finish - but don't feel bad about not even looking sat babble while we were on vacation for two weeks
Agreed. Even as we speak I have my nice wide screen monitor in split screen mode with babble on one side and my work in progress on the other:)
so now it is time to get productive - make a bean salad for this evening's picnic and some cookie dough for cookies to bake klater
mmm..coooookiesss
peanut butter blossoms (with chocolate kisses)
Now I want a big batch of soft oatmeal cookies...
next weekend it is the oatmeal cookies
is that a dough that has eggs in it? Can you do that? Make an egg containing dough ahead of time, but cook it later?
i make the dough and refrigerate it for several hoursso it is easier to handle - you can also freeze cookie dough and take it out when you want to bake the cookies
wow....so good to know, thanks teach!
yes, it has eggs in it
Or you could just eat the raw dough.
JUST FOUND A PERFECT RECEPIE FOR OATMEAL COOKIES!:) sorry caps
going to make oatmeal raisin cookies later:))
That's it. He's gone over to the dark side.
mwahaha
Hi, crossy. How about this? Social worker to mother currently moving house. I don't like the fact that you have these boxes everywhere. Duh111
nice simple one: butter, eggs, flour, baking powder, brown sugar, vanillia
They can be evil, jaxx:(
the worker, not the boxes
When our son was younger, a worker told us the solution to our issues with our 8 year old child and our pets was to kill the cats
WHAT!?!
well, I and being dramatic.. she actually said "ship them off, get rid of them"
She then went to the new bigger house and commented that she hoped this one would be kept tidier than the other. You try moving house with 3 kids, two cats etc and not make a mess.
I think you would find that social worker buried in a shallow grave in my back yard if that was ever said to me.
they get retentive real fast. You just have to grit your teeth and wait for them to close the file
Obviously a caring compassionate person in the wrong job
Or a sociopath.
and EVERY worker I have ever come into contact with has never had children of their own. they Just go "by the book" or whatever horrid reference material they consult as their bible
i thank god every day that my son is now an adult in the eyes of the law. I love it here, but Ontario has become a true "nanny province" as far as kids go. they want to raise them for you.
Ah, we are in the clutches now. A meeting next week with the 'core' and then another in November. In between there will be planned and surprise visits. Oh joy. On asking where Ashley played, she was told out in the park below our house. You do sipervise him, don't you, as he's only 9?
Phooey. Just dangle him on a rope from the jungle gym... just out of reach of the wolves.
I read on CNN the other day that a woman was arrested for allowing her 8 year old girl to walk to the park at the end of the block unsupervised
And a new word for Babble - ideation
it is getting out of hand
brb, must make a few soft-boiled eggs;))
Just what I need for the next visit. lol
Clue for Af5, please?
af + fr4,9
Ty ty. And I did mean Af6.
eggs and toast soldiers are ready!
Fireworks!
Bravo, Judi
Gotta jet, y'all. See you tomorrow! *POOF*
i want to put in "gazette"
i tried it already.. 20 times:)
oh good it's not just me then
nope, you're in good company
Toast soldiers?
toast cut into strips for dipping soft-boiled eggs, molly
i don't find the 8 word, can someone tell me
a person who rents an apt. and extend it for the 8
oh thanks it would have helped if i had had the shorter one
ha
that is why i do not clue like this "ext of te6"
smart
any clue for the 7 out there? and ty for the 8. good clue
it's an en7, but I don't have it either.
en+ camp dwelling+ vowel
Most of the time, definition clues don't help either. I doubt anyone got gnathite yesterday from " zoology an appendage of an arthropod that is specialized for grasping or chewing; mouthpart"
en + canvas shelter and add second vowel
ty crossy. fw.
ty for 7.
worked that time:)
amazing that with all the e and a tiles there are so few words.
a single s would have made all the difference
there are , of course "oddball" words that cannot be clued descriptively with any chance of success..
then you are down to basically spelling them out
all that "squiggly letter, round letter, 3rd vowel" type of cluing
<-- didn't understand the 8 clue duh moio)
wb (9ruby))
I feel like a squiggly letter, myself. It is as cold as Nov here, very weird!
I am the landlord, you are the te6 in my apartment then extend it for the 8
merci mon pte!
pote* can't type, either
Soyez le bienvenu
and it's raining, AGAIN! We're all getting moldy, along with the fruit
lots of rain here as well:)
I can never type and I have not let that stop me:)
it' very green, though, so I shouldn't complain. Usually, in August, the lawn is brown. Not this year: it's full of "wild flowers"euphemism
I've tried antenna several times.....
was 9 c when i awoke this morning
and you will try gazette as well:)
NOW I will
lol
you french girls are wild and crazy!
Ruby is a US girl at heart ♥
te8...clue please
for sure
te8 clue at 10:08
qeb: crossy gave a great clue recently
(fr keyboard)
I got it from yours Molly...neverheard that word in 71 years
lol, it is a rude Parisian keyboard?
21 left and time to further organize dinner, the usual extravaganza
q's and q's are switched so if I don't pay attention, voila!
q's and a's
it adds spice to the conversation;)
judt read your profile aeb; I'll bet those terriers are fearsome to rats!
*woof*
Oh yes ....Rats in animal form and in human form!
I've got woofer but no tweeters(LOL)
I have no woofums but have three pussums
good one!
Finally found an n word for the rightmost column!
and that is NBT and NBS for Crossy
what is it cross
na 4/7
just work your way down
ty
np
that gives me nbt and nbs also
I do not have the other as of yet>
anyone here ever do the hcg diet
I do the "eat what the heck I like but hike 5 k a day " diet:)
tried that this summer, didnt lose a lbs. I have been walking 4-5 miles 5-6 days a week for 2mths solid.
you would be surprised how nimble a 250 pound(down from 285) has to become:)
I trail hike, sue. lots of rocks, boulders, inclines and steep descents
Help with the AF please?
end up sweating bullets
af 6/42
a public fight
I need a clue please
got it! Ty!
yaaa!'
my goal is 200 pounds as it sits well on my big frame and 6foot 2 inch height
but at age 50, I expect no miracles
mine is 140
at age 50 i do. I have 30lbs to lose.
lol, my left leg weighs 140...
lol
i am 5'5'

Sue if you are walking that much and not losing weight, you should mention it to your doctor. It could be a thyroid or other metabolism issue.

Hello, Sue :-)
hi sue, how is Frank today? how are you holding up?
hi peri! Frank is doing better today; I am doing pretty well.
and hi zooz :-)
((((Frank)))) ((((Sue))))
I finally told him yesterday that there is no reason for him to stay in bed all day, so today he is up :-)
that is good
Sue, do you ever get the chance to get out with some friends and get away from the sick husband thing for a while? If not, it might be a nice and well deserved break for you.
I haven't in a while, Molly, but I hope to in the near future
I missed a 4-day women's choral festival when he was in the hospital :-(
Good. This kind of thing is tough on the caregiver too. I had a friend who went through something similar.
it is indeed! I find myself spending a lot of time in my home office (at the back of the house) reading things and playing games...
fw happy babbling all
yay peri!
Congrats, Peri!
Sue, my friend said she lost her whole sense of self for a while because everything seemed to revolve around the sick husband. I can see how that could happen very easily. Be good to yourself.
thanks, Molly, I will. And I know what she means.

Well I did correct myself quickly :-)
And done. Rather easy for such a small grid.
*Pours another pint for Zoom*
Time for Sudoku.Happy babbling everyone!
Cheers, Molly :-)
dinner extravaganza was a great success: guinea hen with Corsican pig liver pate stuffing, asparagus and sweet potatoes and violet artichokes
I don't thik this is an easy grid
Oh my Ruby, why in the world do you go out to eat when you are such a good cook?
Oh I see little butterfly Ruby flit into the grid and then flit back out again. Another version of the Peri dance.
hello Molly. I may be a good cook but it's too much work.
Ah, I see. Cooking never feels like work to me, I really enjoy it. Good that you take a break from it if it feels like too much work.
When I was younger, even two years ago, I didn't mind it and used to entertain a lot. Now it is hard to be on my feet for the hours needed to do elaborate cooking, so I try to do it in stages
Don't forget, I was a faculty wife, so had to learn to cook when I was 19 for much older people with sophisticated palates.
I still enjoy "cooperative cooking", i.e. if a friend is in the kitchen with me
Not forgetting anything. It has always sounded to me like you were a very good cook. I'm sorry that age has taken some of that pleasure away from you.
I used to love it and learned a lot of exotic stuff from friends over the years
We've pretty much stopped entertaining now and Burt will eat anything I make with great appreciation
I try to make things for a couple of days as he will happily eat the same dish for a week
Oh good. I got the impression from what you have said that he turns his nose up at a lot of what you prepare.
not any more. In his decline, he is really appreciative
Well that's a good thing, that comes from a not so good thing, I guess.
I guess
I wish you had more friends and family around you. It's hard to go through something like that alone.
It's not so bad, just that our early schedule prevents me from seeing my local friends as much as I would like. We eat dinner before 6 so I'm preparing food just when they would like to have coffee, etc.
It could be much worse!
You have a good outlook on all of it. Good for you.
The people here are really friendly; it's just lucky that I speak the language. It would be a disaster without it
I am stalled at 20 left, so I'll say Good Night, Molly
Bon soir mon ami
Merci
good morning, all
Good after noon
*!* ta da *!*

yw
Hi jaxx. How did it go today?
I thought it wasn't too bad but developments this afternoon have made me think again.
No light at the end of the tunnel yet then?
I am also not sure if my daughter is telling the truth. I am so fed up with the whole thing.
If that's the case it will undermine everything you have done
We managed to sort most of the house out so we let Ash take her around the house on his own. He was really sensible and grown up about it all. We got a letter about another meeting next Tuesday. They want us to be paid the child benefit and to be responsible for Ashley's various appointments which we had already arranged to do.
That sounds positive
Then Julie got on the phone and said that they had decided to go to court on Monday and get Ashley taken away as they don't consider her house or ours as safe for him.
is this the truth or Julie up to her old tricks? I can't see that they would leave us at 11 am saying we would see them next Tuesday and then go to court the day before.
Nigel thought she was in her cups. I do wish she would grow up and stop drinking and telling lies.
Oh, I see. What is your gut telling you? Has she lied about this sort of thing before?
I am so inclined to let her get on with it but I am worried for Ashley.
Julie will tell you that she would rather tell a lie than the truth as the lie is more exciting!
I tell you, chrissie, all this tension at my age is soul destroying
Is Ash with you tonight
No, he has gone home to go and fit up his new bedroom at the new house
Is that the new house she can't afford
Yes.
I can only imagine that you must be physically and emotionally exhausted
I am fit and raring to go compared with my husband.
It's a pity you and hubby can't get away from it all for a few weeks and to hell with it all
We just can't afford it.
Am going now jaxx, banging headache. (((Hugs))) try and get a good nights rest, make the most of the weekend with just the 2 of you, and face next week when it comes. See you tomorrow x
Sorry about the headache. You should have told me before I burdened you with my woes. Good night and sleep well.

One box had assorted boxes from plumbing fixtures... two boxes were partially sorted and easily redistributed! I made progress!! :-) AND we found the screen for the skylight, so no more late-night mosquitos!
YAY penquis!
Go stid ..
how are you tor?
Doing fairly well ..
Sounds like you're getting settled in ..
yes, we are -- thanks (Tom served supper)
Little by little. But I am almost out of summertime, and school starts up in three weeks, whether I have a job or not I have to be ready for students. I will substitute if I don't get a permanent position this year, and then next year look for something else if I am still not hired on permanently.
Hi stid. Just got back from dinner myself. Please don't give up looking for a permanent position after only 2 years!
hey bugs. It has been three years, and one more year makes four. :-)
It takes a while on the sub list to let the old ones retire before the fulltime jobs open but lots of people make a good living as a sub
Our credentials have limited time, so I really have to either find a permanent position soon or have to deal with the whole recertification process. Not something I look forward to.
Keep the faith. Not many people want middle school kids
:-)
I really enjoy working with them! Most of the time... although there are moments I would be very happy to trade them all for a week in a the bahamas!
They have a very high energy level so sometimes you just have to plan a 5 minute sock fight into the curriculum. hee hee
LOL -- only at the end of class, so a DIFFERENT teacher gets to calm them down! *wicked tacher look*
I worked with them in much smaller numbers so I used to send them off to run around the school once. It worked like a charm to settle them and give them the ability to focus.
I have done that -- The classroom last year was right off the school track. I would send them out for 5 minutes -- sometimes before we started, sometimes as a reward after a task.
It really does work for most of them. Some just need a place that is quiet to get recentered
I love that you used it as a reward as well.
If I am lucky enough to be rehired at that school I should have a similar classroom, with easy access to the track again.
Do you know if there will be a position there:
yes, there will be.
Just depends if I can be the best interviewee.
oh , so there is still hope! How lovely! Fingers and toes crossed
thanks!
Our poor kids still have teachers out on strike so the parents don't know if they should be buying clothers and supplies or spending it on day care or tutors.
so I hear
I wish things could get settled soon.
Very hard on children when they are left hanging like this -- but teachers know they need to fight for what is right, and if they give in too easily, children inevitably suffer in the long term.
Three of my grandkids and their Mum are coming for a week the day after tomorrow just in case school is able to start on time. It will be very chaotic tho because there has not been any planning done all summer - class composition or who will teach what etc.
That will be lovely to see them, I hope that it won't be as chaotic as you fear.
Most of public opinion is with the teachers but it is still hard on families.
Oh our house will be chaotic but I kind of like that for a short time. I meant the schools will be in chaos
yes, it is very difficult
We had to say good bye to a young nephew today. Only 38 years old with a dear young wife. His parents and brothers are gutted. I have lost interest in this now so I am off again. Take care and hugs to everyone you love.
oh no! So sorry, Bugs...
I think I am heading out again too. Down to 19, and ready to knit instead of look at a glaring screen.
(((hugs all))) be well. *poof*
