jwr i don't mind them living there - well, the first one i met, anyway - whom I have named Icabod, naturally. It's the fourth spider I found that I object to. Small and medium spiders are fine, but this bugger is the size of a plate. I'm not scared of spiders, but I wouldn't want him waking me up in the middle of the night by crawling on me mush!

Yes, smooth wall now and the brick base will be going. Annie we've painted it a Dulux colour called Calico Unbleached at 1/4 strength - it's a really really pale peach colour.

It has been years since I have done a fishing trip shore lunch:) we would pull the canoes ashore on some small island in Algonquin park and break out the trusty cast iron skillet. we would get a few rashers of hickory smoked, maple kissed bacon going, a few diced mini new potatoes and leave the thin skins on then the trout. Freshly caught that morning and field dressed Speckled trout drenched in a flour/herb/spice coating and fried till golden brown:))
