hi all, just in, have had a power outage since 2:20pm and is now 7pm
g'day diz. bad news about the power. how frustrating for you.
hey Rose....hubby reckon I was having withdrawals...and I agree with him...LOL
*giggle* diz....i have problems if i'm not home...of course i'm not addicted.
lol
good morning all
{{hugs}} my darling girl. have you had a good night?
not too great, tbh. How was your day? And *hugs* for you.
i've caught up just about on the clean laundry. folded, sorted, ir4ed.
wow well done.
ugh on your night, poor thing. i have developed a very sore left hip since hydro last week. took endone and i was up and running by 9:30am. seeing physio tomorrow. will ask her what she thinks has happened.
good idea. Afterpain is acceptable, but not that badly. And not for so long either.
Morning every one :-)
g'day zooz. {{hugs}}
*hugs zooz* How are you today?
consider yourself well hugged, zooz
I am well thanks :-) How are you two diddiling?
Yes it was nice, Rose..lol
pretty good, all in all. Am happy as a clam because 'my' coffee, which was unavailable for a couple of months, is back in the stores.
cruising today, zooz.apart from a sore left hip when i woke up.
Sorry to hear about your hip, Rose :-(
whoot for store in getting sprite's coffee in.
Nice, Spritey! Hope you are sipping it as we speak :-)
so silly, isn't it. But it really makes my day, that cuppa.
I myself am sipping on a nice hot cup of tea!
not yet, this morning... husband is still sleeping. He has the week off.
sounds good, zooz
i'm sipping on a bourbon and lemonade
No not silly at all.I always have to start my day with a cup of tea.I love it.Like you say..sets you up for the day :-)
:D
ooh very nice, Rose. Are you getting tipsy..lol
your health, rose, my darling :) Enjoy!
nah.....otherwise i wouldn't make sense, silly...
will graduate to red wine with dinner. we are having steak and chips plus vegs.
Have you planned anything for the wek your husband has off, Sprite.Or is he going to just relax at home for the week?
any idea what she means by that, zooz? *giggles*
Sounds delish, Rose!
*giggle*
week*
Nope was hoping you knew hahaha
zooz, he is gonna relax, do some canoeing, work on his canoe paddles. I am gonna go about my days as usual, mostly.
Well I hope he jolly well helps you around the house doing house choirs??
Teehee!
you two will keep. just keep watch over your shoulder.
oh yes, my love always does a lot of chores. He is great.
I always do, Rose :-)
hehehe *hugs rose* Now I am watching over YOUR shoulder.
Sorry *chores* my spelling is getting worse.
you could say choirs as in singing whilst doing house work LOL
am picturing us doing that. Almost a disney movie, lol.
i have a choir in my shower....doesn't everyone?
oh yes. Always waiting there for me to get naked, wet and singing.
lol
Does the alcohol mess up yur meds, Rose.or is it okay with small amounts?
your*
How are your siblings getting on, Sprite?
it's okay in small amounts.
Alright I will let you off then ,Rose..lol
my siblings? I only have a sister. And even though we love eachother very much, we find it hard to maintain a good relationship.
Oh sorry to hear that.do you see her at all like christmas or birthdays?
And how are your children are they doing well?
we should, but it has been a while again. It is on my to-do list and am keeping postponing it.
yes, my children are doing very well. Both will do an exam already for Cambridge English! Tim for Advanced and Caya even for Proficiency. Am so proud.
Well maybe a letter would be a good start just to see how it goes maybe.
good idea, zooz
That is very good, Sprite! I bet both you and your husband are very proud indeed.Good on them both!
I should think summer is almost upon you now, Rose?
no flipping idea where to get the money for those exams, but we will somehow manage. It will look so good on their resumes. Gives them an edge.
I agree, sprite. On the money side have you thought about say like things you do not need anymore and sell them on ebay?
yeah. We don't have much left, lol.
It is easy to do just take a photo of the item add a description set a selling time length and wait for people to bid.
I bet if you looked around...you would be surprised at how much there is hanging around you do ot need anymore..lol
hehehe good advice, will do
zooz, still having a few cool days interspersed with days of temps 30c/86f.
30c wow that would be a heatwave here..lol
here as well
You should be getting the wet & windy weather we had yeasterday, Sprite? stil wet on and off here today too.
right now it is a lovely autumn day. Blue sky, good wind. But cold. I had to get an extra blanket last night.
In that case perhaps not..lol
Still mild here thank goodness
antirip
well, it is the netherlands. Just wait for a bit and the weather will change.
oops not a word anyay phew
phantom: innovation
Good one, Sprite!
where did our rose go?
Not sure. maybe having a quick go at jigidi then popping back again.
i'm here, slurping...umm sipping on my drink
I only say that as that is what I do when the chat is slow..lol
Teehee! enjoy Rose enjoy!
plus i was on the phone. a friend called to see what happened last friday.
Oh oh ring ring why don't you give me a call..
lol, zooz
Sorry reminded me of an Abba song..lol
the happiest sound of them all
Hope , Ruru is not still around otherwise he would cringe at the thought of Abba..lol
hehehe rose... ok! Yay for good friends.
let him cringe. Great band. Brilliant song writers.
Yes I think so too!
Although my music taste is very broad..lol
mine too. And very eclectic, lol. Abba is one of the very few bands I love almost everything from. Most, it is just one song or two.
so is mine, zooz. my parents introduced me to swing as a child. and my kids introduved me to heavy metal and head banging.
awesome :)
Teehee, was just picturing , Rose with her Superwoman cape on doing headbanging..lol
I can easily picture that
and i found i love cool jazz, plus through learning to play the piano, and my ballet, i like the old classical stuff too.
I would love to play the piano.Starting to wish I could go back to childhood and start over again..lol
I love classical music. Jazz not so much, it is usually too... don't know the word... restless?
at my eldest son's 18th, they were headbanging, and i slipped into the circle beside my son. you should have seen his face when he realised his mum had been headbanging with him.
never too old to learn, zooz!
Love classical and I also like jazz too, but only a certain style.
lol. He should have cherished that.
True, Sprite but when you are a child it is much easier to learn..so I am told. Not sure what happened to me but then there is always one who goes against the grain..lol
hahahahaha love it, Rose.would of loved to see that on video LOL
yeah, everything is easier to learn when you are a child. But that doesn't have to keep us from learning on a later age.
Very true, Sprite..very true.
or re-learning as i will be doing once the piano is tuned and in it's proper place
as I am doing, rose. Trying to get back the old routine :)
I am sure you will soon pick back up where you left off.
i am still stunned when i found out i could still run up and down a simple scale.
It always amazes me when I see people playing the piano with all their fingers as with me it would be one digit and slow LOL
that is how you start, zooz. The rest is practice over time.
fireflies. Delightful grid today.
For me depending on the type of mood I am in I choose what song I want to listen to.But if you can play an instrument you can just play how you feel. That must be a wonderful feeling to create your own tunes to how you feel at that time.
Congrats, Sptite!
WTG SPRITE!!!
Sprite*
sorry about that.
am gonna *hug* you both and get some things started here. Rose, sleep well and dream even better. And zooz, have a lovely day!
{{hugs}} sprite. i hope you have a great day, hun
You too, Spritey!
Has your husband finished the house decorating yet, Rose.Or is it still on going?
lol, zooz, i think i will be dead and in my grave before it is finished.
LOL
Bless him I am sure he is trying...very trying..LOL
it is slow work as there is asbestos involved, and he has to be very careful removing it.
Here you would not be allowed to move it yourself. You would have to get a specialist in to get rid of it.Maybe that might be the best option in your case also.It can be very dangerous as you should know.
Phantom : Partition.
dinner ready, catch you later. xxx
Enjoy your meal, Rose :-)
May I have the stats for the J please anyone?
It can't be a four letter word as I am sure I have tried every combination going..lol
I knno the stats for it now as I looked at lickety.

jo5
Thank you, Macadam :-)
no problem.it makes a change when I know the word.
Well I am hoping I will know it soon too..lol
I just monkeyed it, and according to other dictionaries, it's a name!
A name..okay

Biblical, if that helps.
It's also a computer program :)
or something similar
Really? I didn't see that.
The son of Ahab.
Got it thank you!
I just googled it
I monkeyed it then checked
I did too but got the name. Oh well, glad we got it!

jo5 is a large drinking bowl according to my scrabble dictionary
Airpope - an airbourne pontiff.
good morning everyone:) -- Rose did I read correct? Your hubby is removing asbestos on his own???. Here you call a agency, and it is free, you get on a list. They tehn come over and toss you out for the afternoon, tarp the entire house, cover everything in plastic and remove it all carefully while wearing haz/mat suits. same goes for the old Urea formaldehyde (sp) blow-in insulation. Stuff can be very bad for the lungs.
In homes here and old schools you mostly see asbestos as pipe/duct wrap and old boiler room insulation
the urea formaldehyde is a more serious matter:(
We had some asbestos sheeting(in 4x4 panels 1/2 inch thick) there were 100 or so, used as insulation in a school we were renovating. By law we had to stop work, call the agency that takes care of it. We waited three weeks till some govt official came over and said "Yup, that is asbestos," The we waited 2 more weeks and they sent someone out and they removed it. lol
Would I be right in thinking the an 8 will be an4 (against something) plus four more letters of some description?
yes matty. against demonstration...maybe
ty lady
angry demonstration is better!
Oooh, thank you. I'm generally against those. I feel that's best
two pumpkin pies in da oven:)) Had some leftover evaporated milk and tried some in my tea. taste reminded me of the days of my youth when we used to go into our old fishing/hunting camp in Algonquin park. Back then the only way you could get milk in there on those goat trails was by bringing it in on your back in Carnation evaporated milk cans:)
There was no hydro in any case, though in later years the camp boasted a propane fridge
This flashback was brought to you by crossy. I am dangerous till I get my first tea finished off:)
those are the best kind of memories crossy.

because I know he can't see this, I can tell you - I got one of primos christmas gifts in the mail on saturday. I'ts SO COOL. It's a set of cards invented by Brian Eno to help artists when they are stuck on a project. They give suggestions as to how to look at things in a new way and get the muses working again.
very nice gift!
I am lucky. My muse have been behaving the last year or so:)
i heard about it in the recent David Bowie movie I saw....Brian Eno invented the cards whilst producing David's Heroes album, and they have gone on to because a cult item amongst artists
i get my best ideas while staring out the window at nature, with my mind and eyes unfocused and doing the "oommmm" thing:)
I resolve mine while doing something mindless, like ironing....

Not very good at cluing today it seems...yes thank you, Molly I was just about to say..lol
You're fine Zoom, I just didn't want people to get confused.

You have always been busy with family and writing, Angelsong.
we have had a family of four plus a dog living with us since July 3, Scrabbs...they are moving out in two weeks per our ultimatum last night.
Good plan, Angelsong.
they needed help in an emergency, but they got entirely too comfortable here and it just was not working
Too bad they needed an ultimatum to make a plan.
I sees familiar names!
yes. it is.
Nutty! To what do owe the privilege of your presence?
work training not loading
So Plan B = Babble!
gotta go....see you all later....

Bye, penquis.
scrabbs, when it reaches the point you need to leave your own home to have any peace, things have to change.
NBT for crossy:)
You did the right thing, for sure. But when people take advantage of others, without consideration, it is sad.

well, sorta.. the wireless works but something is wrong inside the desktop and I still can't access the internet on it
howdy zooz
AM + most of the crying vegetable.
tht is an5 but i got a am 5/12 endinf in e
No it is the AM 6/21
am6 is what zooz clued.
i just realized scrabbler has accidentally been saying a word
do the AM then spell out the rest of the crying vegetable minus the first two letters.
hi all. clue for the other 9?
I wonder if I already have the word, JJ
pa7
it is en 9 but couldnt find clue in chat.
so hte am7 extends to an 8?
am7 is related to am6
I did not get the earlier clue for the pr9 would someone plse clue it again
it ends on pi 4/5
TY, jj
oops sorry am 6/7
i have two pi 4/5s.
ty MLF, that helped me find it
Pr9 not amateur + fish **nk + where coal is dug.
pr9 = opposite of amateur + consonant + amphet***** (Adderall, Ritalin)
yw aloy
ty i have the pr 9.
any clues for the en 9?
i think it is a drug but it wont take it.
It is tough to clue. Let me try, mkg.
ty scrabbs
still not getting the am7 i have am 6/21?
en9 is an inversion of the eyelid. I don't know how to clue it
en9 = en + Boy Scout ***o* + charged particle
am7 = same first 5 letters of the am6 and add eight/nine/**n
I think I got those right.
starts with en tr 4/5 and ends in cham**** or pi 4/5
boy scout pledge? boy scout honor? hmmmm
never mind i got the am7 thanks to the monkeys
The group is called a *****--rhymes with group
mkg what are you talking about?
ohh mkg try looking at my clue
EN + *****cal fruit + opp of out
ty got it.
i knew it was that drug but i was spelling it wrong.
yw
ty.
en9 is not a drug, it is an inturning of the eyelid.
Should of put opp of off.but it does not matter as you have it now..lol
oh it is not a drug. hmmm. ok i learned something new. guess that is why it would not take the word
any one have clue for the E word for top row e?
is op8 an extension of one of the other OP words i have the op6?
I have no op6 or op8 yet.
never mind i got it and thank goodness i dont need it.
it is an extention of the choice word.
lol thanks zooz i guessed and got it
you have the op6 to vote as an absentee, Scrabs.. but I don't have op8 either
Choice word with a double vowel on the end, Aloy.
weird extention........like lessor and less**.
zooz is the op5 same first 3 letters?
ooh, now I do, ty zooz
Maybe I will return later. Leaving office in a few minutes.
O + type of wood or tree
thanks zooz
nice to see you Scrabs.. hagd
Toodle pips, Scrabs :-)
the M words are frustrating
just trying to get half way. ugh. would love clues for the other 8s: i have op 8. no others.
brb - maybe a sandwich will help, having a brain block with this grid
AT MKG
AN8 against fighting.
8/45
at plus rockin **bin and a type of tree pi4
op 8/45 is a very odd word and not one I see often:/
mm, figured it had to be lawyer-speak:)
zooz against fighting?
use 4 letter "against" prefix we have used on many words in this grid+ 4 letter word for violent street protest
ohh yes cross had the first four letters of course:)
got the word now thaks
then you just add street protest
:)
thanks
does anyone have all the 8s?
still missing one
an at and op what is the 8 i am missing?
pr
ty Molly, looking
molly which pr is it?
aloy did you find it?
yes.. just knock a vowel off the pr9
thanks aloy
yvw .. had the pr9 thanks to earlier clues
so did i:)
and i have one pr 7
you will have another one if you change the middle vowel
change the i?
or the e
?
the middle vowel would be the i
so that the end of the word changes from a tree to part of a window
duhhh
ty
gasoline
yay, you got the gas
yep
fw, off to the grocery store.. Happy Columbus Day to all.. poof
hi hi
have a GREAT day!!
hi all!
hi sue
help with op8 pls
hi peri!
how are you and Frank doing today, sue?
I'm ok; Frank ate too much last night and now is pretty miserable
oh, sorry to hear that. he must have been really hungry
he was; he's been going through a phase of not wanting to eat (because he doesn't want to deal with the bag) but finally he just got too hungry. I will try (once he gets sorted out) to get him to eat much more frequent, smaller meals.
poor Frank. He must not have changed any babies in his younger days. A bag is just a bag and everything gets easier the more you practice.
I can understand not wanting to deal with the bag, but being hungry is not good either.
I wish things were easier for you both.
Nope, no babies in Frank's life. I'm trying to get him to be more at peace with the bag, but it's a real struggle for him.
bbl
stuck on the ta 6/21 ?
that must be so frustrating for you Sue. To see someone you love have such a hard time with something that will save his life if he lets it. Not eating is not going to help.
Not wild + not out, SMom
Indeed, bugs! Very frustrating.
thanks for the ta6, Molly!
Well, you have my permission to scold him for me too if that would help.
help with am 7 please
thanks molly
thanks, bugs :-)
I would miss his posts of interesting things on Facebook too much.
anyway, today is my grocery shopping day (senior citizens get 5% off) so I will be back later.
hugs to you both and everyone here -- especially lurkers who never get hugs from the chog
i love the word ri/6/24... havent hear it for 65 years ... my great grampa used it
I'm one of those lurkers...I love seeing the interactions -- and I always feel hugged by the global goodwill I see here! So keep cluing each other -- you guys/gals make my day!!!
So, say hi once in a while.
It's free! :)
Hi HEgo and jeanne
Hiya Bugs!!
I do chime in a few times a year! But okay, today's a "Hello, there!" day! It's wet and cold...perfect for Babbling! Dogs at side...
How goes it in the great northwest?
lurkey lurkey youze a turkey
sounds good Jeanne.
:) evan
LOTS of rain here this weekend but we have needed it. the leaves are turning straight to brown without the glorious colours first. It is Thanksgiving so lots of people travelling. We came back early so I could work and here I am in Babble instead. oops
bright sunshine.
Happy Thanksgiving to Canada!
are you home again Hego? I loved the pictures from Italy I was seeing on Facebook.
Yes, been home a while.
It was great, though.
get some more good recipies?
Not really, been there so often.
But their ingredients are superb.
You just can't duplicate the food you eat there.
a friend has been to Italy and says the fresh ingredients make SUCH a difference but we get most of our veggies shipped from somewhere so they get picked too early
Exactly.
hello hello
hiya!
hi hego :)
I need help with the pr8...clue anyone
not yet Annie.
okay, hego
pr8..."for" prefix + the end of your One A Day
ty! good clue!
Molly, I just dont see it. It's me.
One A Day is a multiple...last 5 letters
bless you, Molly
tx molly!!
Now I can go watch the news and see what is going on in the world. Bye.
bye annie :-)
that's a depressing thing to do....
back in a bit
Could someone please clue me the in 5/16 please
hmmm......
in + +++iety is the spice of life.
thanks hego, got it
yw :)
ri 6/24 plz
compound silly word
to tear and to knock
tyvm!
yw
the ri 6/24 is silly sounding, but sure is important to our lake shoreline!!
really?
It's a construction/landscaping term
Had no idea.
looked it up, very cool. ty
Later....
I've lost my add box on Babble Expert - it says it's there (on the menu at the top, but it is nowhere to be found...
I gave up and have gone back to my Mac. No expert, but a better machine
* sees a tumbleweed roll by *
did you try to grab the dotted part of the yellow vertical line and bring it to the right?
Yeah. I think my problem is that at work, I use two screens and have the box on tother screen and now it can't find it. I prefer my Mac anyway - just miss the Expert. I want to finish a grid sometime using it!
i love using expert....less cut and pasting...
Yeah, me too - I wish there were a Mac version. My own computer is a Mac; my work an elderly PC
ah....i use a pc...
tot
sorry...
Whilst I have your attention, have you got the en7/28?
tote
sorry now me!
yes, i have the en 7/28....
Would you mind awfully giving me a wee hand...?
sure....e + word for country....
Hiya!
hi
I could have sworn blind I tried that...I'm going crazy
Hi Hego!
Poor Matty
Maybe I'm just thick. Or perhaps tired blind
sometimes we accidentally leave a space before the word and it is not recognized...
Welcome to the dark side of Babble.
hego....when you are here it is like having angels hovering over the chat...
lol..not likely
heh heh...
They were in honor of my trip to Floorence.
nice...
All that renaisance (?) art.
someday I will have to learn how to spell that.
two s's....yes, lovely city...
2 s's I think.
snap!
can someone tell me if the an 8 extends the word before it or not?
Yes, it does
ty...
it's my last word...
do not have it yet.
Well, don't start a major disturbance and begin looting. I'm against that ;)
hi all back to try and finish lol- matty an 8 is also against fighting - good clue you did there
hmmm......
ty Matty!
I was trying to be subtle :) Not like me, I know
i thought it was great :D caught me in mid type lol
well, i didn't actually ask for a clue.... ;o)
You were very subtle...
Exactly. Hence my efforts ;)
i am done....
lol
to be subtle, I mean
!!YAY!! Penq!!
congrats pen :-)
ty ty...
:)
Many congrats
ty...
hi everyone! clue for the ri6?
broken up rock for drainage :-)
compound word
hi dawg
It's a weird word. Compound - to tear and to hit lightly
totear and to knock
Or perform terrible music (IMHO)
:)
Is the en9 and extension of the en6?
no
not getting the to knock
no
Then could I get a clue for the en9, please?
dawg- new kind of music- ra*.
like the raven, on a door.
Think a style of music, dawg - spoken mostly rather than sung
en plus tr4 with different vOwel, then charged particle
or that
en + panama is in the *****cs + not off
tan
I know a woman sho says, if you can't hum it, it ain't music.
lol oops- glad that was a miscue
who says
ahhh, started with the wrong r, thank you
aha!
thanks got it
I am missing some, I suspect, blindingly obvious words. Sigh. I'll go back to them
i have 3 that i just cant see sigh.

Hello all!
Hallo
hi car, matty, nan
:)
So tired, can't keep my eyes open and can't see words for letters. I shall have to give up with 31 left - so until morning all!
pr 8/9, pls
not amateur, scottish cap and not out for pr8
add a vowel for the pr9
tyvm peri
yw
Hi and Ta, peri
hi there jaxx, hi all
Hello babbleworld!
hi peri, jaxx and bichon
hi Jilly
Hi, Jilly and, belatedly, Bich
11 left
Still got 91 to go.
My red curry soup did not turn out well :( not very tasty. I added some leftover onion soup and that made it a little better. was thinking of adding more spices but not sure I will make it again
go jaxx!
That's a shame.
I just watched an old movie with Kathy Bates and Rupert Everett and Dan Aykroyd. It was very funny.
It was called: Unconditional Love.
Sorry Peri I have found a few really good Thai/Indian spices...
what are they, Jilly. I used red curry paste yesterday
I am SO ready for a good funny movie (old or not)
I do not like lemongrass
I laughed out loud. I got the dvd from the library. my sister and bro in law thought it was funny too.
My sister is a professional caterer and she has looked after Rupert Everett and his mama over Christmas. She said he was a real old queen
Will have to see if Netflix has it streaming
Garam masala, Tumeric, Cumin, fish sauce
I need to get more garam masala. but fish sauce?
I got a cookbook recommended by Pam.
what is the name of the cookbook?
Stinks like hell, but it adds to flaovr
eww not sure I want to try that
"Simple Thai Food" by Leela Punyaratabandhu
I prefer japanese, chinese and vietnamese over thai. I also love Indian food.
One of our top chefs was recommending using msg as he maintained it has had a bad press.
I get headaches from msg
Another thing I learned from a Thai course, was that one should divide up the coconut milk, let some cook till thickened, then add spices and the rest of the coconut milk
I don't use MSG
good tip, Jilly
It makes me sneeze. I was glad when it went out of fashion
Ahh...then Peri, you should get Everyday Thai cooking from Katie Chin
tortine
I have a really good Shrimp curry soup that, after you saute the garlic, you throw in the spices before the coconut milk
What can I say?
;) not a word...LOL
that sounds good, Jilly
Yummmmm!
Stats please for the j?
propane
jo 5/22
And the best red curry dish I have made (I think more Indian) used yogurt instead of coconut milk
A real word this time!
Nice job.... BRB...
Clue please pen?
fw bye wll
Congrats Peri
brilliant, peri
congrats!
jo + ewe's mate
ty
yw..

i am still being haunted by ventriloquist dummies.....they appear as ads wherever i go!....it's because i had looked at them at Amazon for my great nephew...
pr8, please?
Those things terrify me.
Evil incarnate pen?
yes!
like a horror movie...
sorry marc..not there yet
pr word...not amateur + scottish hat + not out...

And add a vowel for the PR 9
Pen, you need to see the movie "Magic" with Anthony Hopkins.
Remember that movie, Magic?
OMG Molly! Those ads gave me nightmares for years.
will the movie creep me out even more??
Yes indeed
8o0
molly, my brother was going to take the grandkids on the pumpkin ride on Sunday (day after the tragedy)....
Now that is real life creepy
Does the op8 work off of the op6?
yes, very!
Oh dear
yes, marc...
I'm still finding it hard to process that someone died on a hayride
thanks
ty
yes, i think the investigation will reveal a lot of problems with that hayride...
yw...
ahhh....got the op8 TY
It plays off the op6 double vowels
at7?

Sorry Jilly thought you were looking for a clue

hello to all!
hi...
Hello phandmd
having a hard time breathing through my nose...
Hi phand!
Sorry phand...know what that's like
Hi, Jilly.
I think it is allergies, I probably should do a heavy duty vaccuuming job but am too lazy... (damn cat dander...)
I found when I made my kitties indoor only, my allergies dropped significantly
He is an indoor only cat (except when he escapes, which isn't often, or for very long)
I also am in the process of getting rid of carpeting
that is the best thing to do. We have mostly hard floors, but the family room, where I am sitting is carpeted. Gotta convince the husband to get rid of it...
EN 5/10 please?
en+abbrev for mini stroke
Dang it...miss that one all the time.
Well...78 left. BBS, heading out to watch news and fix dinner...no exotic dinner tonight...chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and mixed vegies..
Clue please for the first MA 6/21?
ma + ***wit (idiot) + vowel
ty pen. I would not have found that one
too many strange words today.
hi all. i have only one 8. the op 8/45. can anyone clue others to me? ty.
an 8 = against + LA ****s were a problem in the 60's...
a + *****cana orange juice + I **ed a million dollars!

That is PR 8/50, sorry
Add a vowel to the end of that for PR 9/66
dimwit is not in grid. i dont see a d.
another word for head lice...
I need the second PR 7/36 please?
same as previous word but change the next to last vowel...
ty
dont know LA stuff. dont know what a million dollars. ty anyway but still need them.
I don't think I'm going to finish...I just can't find anything. HAG evening everyone
Hag!!
instead of the LA thing....think an upheaval like in Ferguson, MO....
car i am not getting anything from this. very frustrating.
sorry car.
ty i got the an 8. ty.
LA race ****s??
Against + looting and vandalizing in the streets
oh dear i have no 9s! ouch.

i refreshed and all is fine.
try refreshing your browser....
Here in the great Northwest it is looking very fallish. Rain is coming, skies are grey with a little hope of blue showing through. Glad to have time to sit and search for words amongst friends.
That sounds a lot like it is here, G-mere
in the midAtlantic region
hello, all.
We lived in Virginia and South Carolina so know the beautiful weather you have in the fall. Hi TO.
hi gmere. watching "gotham" while babbling.
Hi, Gotham is on later here. I haven't watched it as I just haven't connected with weekly shows for quite a while.
i like it. dark crime drama, sets the stage for batman
hey, a lot of my words seem to have disappeared since this AM
the dark side of Babble again.... :o|
Disappearing words cannot be good. Many have not yet appeared on my grid. I'd better focus.
That happens to me a lot. I strongly suggest saving your word list if you are going to take long breaks in playing.
fw unaided
and it took quite a while, so saw lots of phantoms: introit evaporation pejorative ptomain\ne proprietor ripieno tenorite
congrats gremlinn - grest accomplishment
Those are wonderful words, gremlin, too bad this grid did not support them!
Congrats, grem and hi all :)
yesterday, saw hardly any phantoms at all - that one was a bore :)
Hello again babbleworld! Hi to lizlin, Grandmere, teach, molly AND...WooTs to Gremlin on FW
Hi Jilly
hello jill
and (((TO)))
is there a nurse in the house? :)
LOL....but of course!
yes, one or two
Oh good...I have back up!
any way to lessen the discomfort of scraped knuckles? i swear, they itch so they are healing. would neosporin get through the scabs?
for what it's worth...
Good old vaseline penetrates well. If not infected I'd avoid neosporin
why is that, Jill?
They also sell an aloe vera sunburn gel that has a little lidocaine in it
will that delay healin at all? i just want to lessen the discomfort of bending
I have become wary of overuse of antibiotics
no aloe, ever. except in grids.
Why no aloe?
i wish they would heal by the weekend, i am going to a dess up event
makes me itch.
I'd go for the vaseline..and phand..it was proven to go deeper into skin layers than lotions
the neosporin?
there have been quite a few allergic reactions plus don't like to use antibiotics unless warranted
<---dying to find out how TO got scraped knuckles
I agree about the overuse of antibiotics.
We have 'superbugs' due to our fixation on antibiotics...scary
tis true.
yardwork mishap.
sorry..was hoping for something exciting like a bar room brawl (not) Those pesky plants!
why does everyone jump on the neosporin bandwagon? i owuld not have used it ordinarily but the wound was swollen and gave off a bit of heat.
Well, you didn't say that...it then might be warranted
well, they have gotten me good - twice - this season. i have a ascar, will try the scar poultices.
swollen from impact. very painful but it has been nearly two weeks.
You could try warm compresses
of course, the knucklleshurt form constant bending
no longer anything but healing scabs on two of them
brb
lanolin
When I had carpal tunnel surgery the doc had me use pure lanolin..had to ask for it at the pharmacy but it did not require a prescription
<----!!FW!!
congrats!
Sorry didn't mean to kill the chog
Lanolin is great for the skin. Back in the day, there was some stuff called Lanolin Plus that my Dad always put on my cuts, scrapes and chapped skin.
Worked great for me Molly
ty...
off to watch TV for awhile til bedtime...happy babbling all!
hello everyone

I am in LasVegas, visiting my son and dil, and two granddaughters. Went to ONE last nite, the Cirque show about Michael Jackson. It was fabulous!!!!
Sounds pretty fun Nancy. We were in 'Vegas in September of 2013.
Hi Neil, Nancy - you lucky folk, I hope to make it there one day too!
Then do that, eWillow. You'll have fun. :)
That's what I hear...course since i"m a gambler I'll have to bring my piggy bank :)
Ahh. I can't afford to gamble. So I don't.
Me neither. But that's never stopped me.
Well you're better off than we are, then.
you know i live in the land of ice and snow - where else am I going to spend my money except in casinos
Antarctica! I want to live there too.
Huh. Maybe on... heating? :P
You do, gremlinn?
You'd have penguins for neighbors.
Actually that doesn't sound too bad. :)
Not quite that far north Gremlinn ha, ha
Ahh.
That's south isn't it?
Antarctica anyway.
Yup
Neil - why heat my house when the casinos take care of that....oh you're right I read Arctic
The way things are going there might not be any arctic in a few decades...
Yeah. :(
did the cirque show have little boys with Michael for realism?
372 next grid
That works for me gremlinn. I'm in the Arctic watershed
