{{hugs}} liz girl.
Hope you've had a good day
very quiet, and cold. the extra magnesium is certainly the answer. and you?
Domestic stuff :( Dull day today but still mid 20s
Hope Lickety remembers that US clocks change overnight
I am looking forward to the extra hour od sleep
I used to enjoy that in England. Queensland doesn't change its clocks.
.how can you do domestic stuff if you live in Queensland?
Why not?
oh noooo that means the flip will be at 5pm NSW time....grrrrrr
Aren't you all royalty in queensland?
Ah! Yes, the blue blood.
Of course queensland in sf means something entirely different :D
Definitely does ;)
will email lickety and remind him to change the time.
Good idea
sorry, was away taking some photos.
Look forward to seeing them
Down to 26 - still haven't found ag 8 - wouldn't mind a clue if it won't upset others.
ag8, ag + to take a break, sit down + most of frozen water
Thanks - really clear clue - would't have guessed that one!
You'd think I'd remember am 4/5 - the name of a really difficult kid I taught!
okay, it may take a while, but i have sent the photos. * grin *
Got them! Wow! Of course - roses first - beautiful. Do they smell as good as they look?
Love the reconstruction work - what a difference that'll make. Can't wait to see the finished kitchen.
Clever idea elevating the washing machine - I'm sure that must help you.
the cecil brunner against the wall of house is to die for. the window to the right as you look at the pic, is our bedroom
and the huge yellow roses on long sprays also scented.
Look forward to the day when I see it all for real :)
same here liz.
14 to go - phew!
there are some strange words in this grid
used the dictionary for 2 of the ks
A few were inspired guess work and a couple of babblers I remembered.
Those 2 x ci 6 were well hidden!
the words are very twisty today.

{{rosie cutie}}
Hugs and love to you Rose and Hi Pip
your pics were beautiful Rose--thanks for sharing
g'day pip
did you see the drawer under the washer?
i am already procrastinating
gm pippin
I did, never seen that before--be really nice for you
pugs, only half the roses are in flower. i will send pics when the others flower. oh, and i found a pair of really long bbq tongs...i can get most of the weeds out with them. my aim is to try and do 15 minutes every day that i can.
quick 72 and off to lunch with Mr. Charm
*woof*
bye Ruby
wow Rose! You really got a blooming year on the roses----I loved the red tinted yellow ones---so glad you found a way to do something to make things easier on you
bye ruby. enjoy lunch dear.
I see I missed Sprite and seen she was having trouble here :( Makes for a bad start to her day----She's having a not-so-good time right now, my heart goes out to her
pugs those roses have a lovely light scent
what are the flowers in the hanging basket? Are they some sort of roses too?
and the bush covered in tiny pale pink roses is the cecil brunner. the windows to the right are our bedroom. on a warm day i open the windows and the scent drifts in.
yes pugs. i have four baskets. one under each window.
the little red ones are single, miniatures.
how heavenly! Its so full of flowers that it dont seem the branches could hold them-lol----I bet the air there right now smells so wonderful
it does, pugs.
how could a person be down and blue with all that beauty and aroma? LOL
and i planted them because?? exactly pugs
need to send poor Sprite there for a vacation-lol
did you get the pic I sent you of the pug? lol
pugs, sprite appears to be sleeping better, with fewer bad dreams. she even slept in today.
*giggle* yup.
thats a big plus! I'm so glad for her--------I could help but to share it-lol
i don't think ruby has checked her emails yet. i did send the pics to her too.
good--I forget to do that sometimes, thanks
so...daylight saving starts over there overnight, yes?
I will have to look at my pug and see if that is on her--lol
it did Rose
I'm washing walls today---such great fun--lol
okay, i did email lickety so he could update the time for the clue list
are you, yourself doing okay Rose?
yes darling. i doubled my magnesium dose during the day. it has been good.
is your new doctor working out
you didn't he4? he went to south america for a holiday, had a heart attack and died.
((rose)) Isn't magnesium just wonderful? I use it daily and extra for leg cramps and muscle aches.
And everyone should be taking vitamin D3...they've found a connection between deficiency of that and the development of dementia.
Of course, my son says I don't have to worry about developing Alzheimer's because they won't be able to tell the difference!
Hi, pug!
My phantom - heretic
sorry Rose, I got kicked off---and HI Mimi, nice to see you
Good one, matty!
Good to see you, too, pug!
g'day mimi and matty
yes, Rose you and Sprite told me about your doctor but I thought Sprite said you found a new one---did I misunderstand that
Hi Matty, nice to meet you
Howdy Pug! And Rose, and Mimi
pugs, i am waiting to find out if the associates are going to take on the clinic.
if they don't i do have another doctor i can go to.
I hope all works out for you on that Rose
thanx pugs
mimi, which magnesium do you use?
I know, Rose, it was hard for you to give up working but maybe it was a good thing for you after all. You know you would of pushed yourself beyond the limits and now you can enjoy life with Don and so on
i know pugs. i just have to get my he4 around it...lol
soon you will have a new kitchen and think of all the cooking and baking you will be able to do---and you got many addresses to send cookies and such--LOL
I'd have to look, rose, and cannot do so right now without waking my new stray cat. There are so many natural alternatives and I've started researching those that are relevant to me.
The best supplement I've found so far and one that everyone needs as well is CoQ10...amazing and great for the heart as well as every other organ in the body. We basically stop producing enough of it as we age (so what else is new).
np's mimi. it's just that i found magnesium malate. it is only available from USA. it has changed my life.
How are things with you Mimi? Ive pretty well have lost bases with everyone
Rose, you will love not working. I work part-time at home and love having more free time to pursue all my interests....and, hopefully, finish writing my book.
mimi, tried it, didn't notice any difference. maybe i need to be older??
Things are good, pug, thanks. Still writing and my daughter got married a week ago.
or maybe i am still producing it...lol. that would be right. my body does every thing backwards.
how nice, Mimi---was it a beautiful wedding?
I'm 63, rose, and I noticed a difference in my energy level after one week. But even if you can't "feel" the difference, you should be taking it.
ahhh, okay. will get some more then
Actually, they got married at a justice of the peace rather quickly because they couldn't qualify for his VA loan together unless they were married. They're planning to have a wedding soon and he's shopping for an engagement ring now. They're only telling a few people they're already married. They close on the house just before Thanksgiving and it is a real beauty.
Rose, try to get the kind that has black pepper extract with it as it increases absorption by 30%.
thanx mimi
are you sure it isn't the pepper putting the pep back into your life?
will they be living close to you, Mimi and I wish them all the best
Be sure to take the D3...really important.
will need to check which vit D i am taking. it is in combo with calcium.
Yes, they're a 10-minute drive away. I was so honored that I was the very first person to know they were married. My daughter and I were estranged for awhile but now are back on track and I couldn't be happier.
Yes, that's the one to take, rose...you're exactly on the right track!
nice, mimi.
thats so great Mimi--so happy for you
Cannot believe I have another cat! This little guy was on the steps to my bldg. and he is so sweet and special. But I'm in a one-bedroom apt. and now have FOUR cats!! Impatient for next year when I'll move into my house in the mountains!
if you will pardon the pun....but that's a lot of pussy...
And remember, rose....you are coming to stay for a bit and we're going to see the Grand Canyon!
ROFL!!!
i won't forget, mimi.
Friends, I need to go --- hope to catch you all next weekend--May God bless you all through out the week--hugs and love
Thanks, pug, and have a great week.
hugs and kisses dearest pugs
Well, rose dear, must get started on my work...have a ton today which is why I'm up very early. Take care and hope to see you here soon. Big hug!
hugs and kisses mimi. enjoy your day, dear
i too must be away. pillows are calling. enjoy the grid. some strange twisty words in the grid.

There were a bunch - do you mean the actor or the writer?
thanks
matty i dont have it
Ah hah! The writer. Thanks!
the author of the book?
the actor...james he****
Nope, he wrote it - Christopher Timothy played him in the series (signed, pedantic polly)
duh, me, of course the author.
His real name was James White, I think
The only name I could think of, other than the author, was Peter Davison :)
can anyone help with the right side i
the H word doesnt work?
Who was, of course, also the fifth doctor and indeed, the dish of the day in Hitchhiker's Guide
oh i found them
So, it that related to the GH word?

hey mlf :-)
hi, une
GH 6?
As usual, you have to take the \n out of that link. Cute Une
ok here's the tinyurl: http://tinyurl.com/9orwop8
hey molly
funny, une :D
hey welki :-)
good morning all. windy here
help with corner F pls
hey peri
looking for ag8 but not seeing it
ag + think the condition of a cabin in the woods, but change the first vowel
going to a yard sale in a bit and then to the Y to exercise
I have no idea welki
me either
cabin in the woods I think secluded, peaceful, cozy...
ag8 - ag + relax or break from work + most of solid water
fo6 is to take care of a child or 4 legged animal until it's adopted
the words ends in a twitch ..3 letters
ty Cosmo.
ty welki, now I get your clue
gh 6 clue please?
ty welki for fo6
hi all, and thanks for the ag8, cosmo
tx cosmo -- wasn't that the name of the town in "Weeds"?
:)
hi cosmo
hi gwen
don't have it, ml
i just found the gh6 + g + not him + two diff vowels
yes Un
thank you gwen
thanks, gwen
off to eat my yummy strawberries -- later :-)
enjoy, une :)
apparently gh6 is a type of labor strike, term from India
lol, only in Babble
if shakespeare ever used it, it will be in dict forever
ugh, do not remind me. I have to read Othello very soon
No. It's a real word (here in India at least :) )... it's form of strike where the strikers block the authorities/officers inside the office and block them from going out.
why have to?
part of my class assignment
when you have pissed off your worker that much, it's time to step down! LOL
KH 5/22?
wonder if the root word means "really pissed off" LOL
:)
kh5/22 = k + the top part of your body (spelled wrong) + vowel
cross i liked Othello
thanks gwen never would have found that one
othello has fewer bloody slayings than otehr shakespeare ptragediies, am i right?
no prob, mlfan!
what else would you expect gwen lol?
It will be my very first experience with the bard:)
does anyone see my pic?
is it a pizza?
you mean what is in front of me gwen?
your icon looks like a pizza. let me click on you so i can see it bigger. probably won't look anything like a pizza then
hmmm, on your profile, you (?) sitting at a desk (?) sorry, it's way too small
I cannot tell what is in that icon. Looks like you are sitting in front of a metal bucket full of whipped cream... it is so tiny
nope gwen lol
it was a pastry before
before what? LOL
before what it is now
cross i am surprised it is tiny as it is a big photo it looks like a big cupcake but it is actually a cake
okay, i'm looking again
i dont know how to resize it on here
i enlarged it using my image viewer, and of course, very fuzzy after being enlarged, but I do see you and a giant pastry and/or small bucket LOL
not a bucket lol
(i stopped trying to change my icon long time ago, such a freakin' hassle)
gen i just never know what to use
gwen
yeah, i know, but honest, it looks kind of like a bucket full of whipped cream or something
well yes it is white frosting
sounds yum yummy
i didnt think it was real when i first saw it either ie edible
simple white cake
sorry, i can't tell you anything useful about making your icon bigger, or making it actually show up in here. all very mysterious!
i refreshed both pages so you should see it
do any of you see a person in the pic?
all right, i'll refresh too
ah ha, now i see it!
:)
i see a person...
hi pen
hi...
sorry, it is way way small, with a huge matte-type border, so it just looks like abstract art
i will change it again as soon as i think of something to put there
you need some nice Doctor Who images to choose from LOL
why gwen?
umm, because it's cool! LOL
that would be too many to choose from though lol
well, if you're a fan of ML (don't know( then you can use a picture from that!
not a big fan but i have watched all versions
but just some episodes
good morning :-)
as far as babble icons go, i have had several wolves over the years, but the one I have now is my last. Once you find the perfect icon, I see no sense in changing it again:)
okay, i have to ask, what's ML?
was wondering the same thing, gwen
first mi 6, please?
mi + ot4/5
ty une
nice pic, nan!

Thanks, Annie!!
very very close to the PB, scrabbs
I love being in the PB anyway.
we will go with you Annie.
not me but scrabbs but I will join her. Molly always has the most delicious muffins in the PB.
Ru, I didn't know Crosshair thinks you are studly. How nice of him.
Noooo not me
have to leave for a bit, be back soon
bye annie
great photo, nan
Let him down easy though. You should tell him that just because you are on the market, it doesn't mean you have switched teams.
Ru is more the lovable cuddly teddy bear type.
Lol.. i better take une's dogs out to pee now
Come to think of it that's Crossy too.
Plus, he would have to fight off all your Babble girlfriends.
I always pictured me as the beany baby type hego
:D
Crossy thinks he's studly.
Everybody knows teddy bears are more lovable, Ru.
Hi JUdi
I only love Ruru for his car.
I would rather be full of beans
I just want his stash of high-end vino
Harlot
Um, no comment on the beans.
Now both studs are here.
:-) )
No, no, we love Ruru for his wine.
Harlot in a car lot, that's me.
saw your new bunny, scrabby. great rescue!
I only love you for your blonde hair judi :D
Ah yes. Like fine wine, my blonde hair comes from a bottle.
so does his wine. hahaha
unlike wine though, it only ages once it is decanted:)
Crossy, I am amazed at how the rescue was meant to happen.
Scrabbs rescued another rabbit! Good on you, Scrabbs! Post pic!
it was perfect timing for you and the rabbit
That was a good thing Scrabs.
De-bottle, de-can... whatever.
I am anazed that woman was so f-ing stupid scrabs
he obv. needed a home where he would be cared for
Pics are on FB. He was going to be released into the wild! The woman said, "He is neglected and just sits in his cage. I think I will just let him loose outside."
I would bet he lived in a cage 24/7 with nails like that
Oy. Some people are just clueless.
I would bet he lived in a cage 24/7 with nails like that snap
Dummy!
I would have told her yeah well your kid is sick so put her out ib tge woods too
But he is sweet, calm, and loves being held. He is gobbling up hay so I bet he never had any. She was using crappy bunny food, with all the seeds and junk. Now he has timothy-based pellets from Nebraska's Oxbow Animal Health.
You had a long life with tucker, 10 years old you said? and his crossing the rainbow bridge at just this time most likely saved this rabbits life:)
hello again
wb, mlf
Tucker would have been 10 in Dec and I just happened to see the woman's newborn on Thursday. I always ask about pets in homes and then talked about my love of rabbits.
Hi MLFAN
A bittersweet/happy ending for the week
Is the second o6 related to the previous 2 words?
Don't know your facebook name Scrabbler, please IM me if you wish.
You are from PA, right?
Or e-mail rather. Duh.
I am in Delaware.
hi scrab
*!* ta da *!* - thanks for he help :-)
ty cross
Was wondering what IM was
Wrong Judi, oops.
WTG, NAN!!!!!
Judi is your email available?
Supposed to be "instant message".
ruru instant messaging.
cross help me think of a diff pic ?
congrats cyber
I'll update my icon info. It'll be there shortly.
is AM7 an extension of another AM word?
A nice icon would be one that either reflects the season or your inner self or things that please you
cross that would be too many to choose from dont you think so?
you shall have to narrow it down some:))
cross what is your icon?
on my way - hagd everyone
only too me 6 years to find my perfect babble icon
Judi, I don't know how to find you on FB. Are you friends with other Babblers?
my icon is a First Nations artist's rendition of a spirit wolf
oh now i see it that is so cool cross
I don't have her Scrabs.
I will e-mail you my Facebook name, Scrabbs. :-)
judi are you and i friends on fb?
Thanks, Judi.
may I have it Judi.
greetings from the great white north - then again, when it's white, it ain't that great
i love snow
Hi welki. I awoke to a snow-covered world too.
Just checked out the new bunny Scrabs. Love the stripe down the back.
Hi Welki
Remy is a tri-colored mini-Rex.
snow is fine - so long as everyone is home, safe and sound. here, the roads aren't kept well and it's an exercise in survival driving if you dare to go out
The black and orange variety of the tri-colored kind.
Remy, ah. Nice name.
Cute bunny.
Male?
he's beautiful, scrabs
My local sister is here for the weekend and came with me to get the rabbit. We had a list of names then she thought of Remy. Yes, not neutered yet. I am not sure I need to neuter him. He is well-behaved so far.
a Remi-saurus-rex:)
haha Crossy
And since mini-Rexes were originally bred in France in the late 1800's a French name like Remy fits.
or remy-Martin
Everything I know about rabbits I learned from Scrabs.
lol
love their fur - if you put your hand gently on their fur, palm flat down, it feels like you've put your hand in a dish of whipped cream
my chog is stuttering very badly atm:(
Judi has a giant icon, don't know if that still slows chat down
Mine is okay
Mine is fine too
I love to be pet with whipped cream too welki
it is me, I have been having this issue for several days now, including posts vanishing in their entirety
oh.. sorry misread your comment :D
no, you didn't!
i already know that, ru - i read it on the bathroom wall at redd's
Haha
HA
lol Welki
Uh oh. Oversized icon. I will change it. IPhone photos tend to turn out that way. Not sure why.
AM7?
lots of long island towns of horror
There. No more bloated photo.
ty Welki!!
thanks welk
great clue.
must go. Later....
Signing in.... good morning everyone!
bye hego
Hi Miss Decoder
Hi, Di!

AR5?
hey,man, pass that over...
we don't, welki..... just a wee shower yesterday morning
we've got about 4 or 5 inches so far and still snowing
wee showers mean something else out here in SF
At 92/84 I need a break. Maybe I will return later.
Uhg. Losing consciousness, must scoop litter box.
not only the bridge that's golden, eh?
welki is sharp today !
judi lol poor thing
nah, you've just been feeding me great opportunities
ruru your icon cracks me up
Whoof. Small cat, big stinkum.
male cat judi?
No. Female - kitten. Now doing happy poo dance.
aww
ar 5 please help?
Yeah. She's a doll. We just got her two weeks ago.
we have a small female cat it doesnt smell too bad
morning, folks
we got ours under a yr old. we think she is about 2 now
hi jes
phooey. "yoink" isn't in the dictionary.
hi jess
But what the piggy says is, jes.
ahahahahahahaa. welki, i love your avatar :)
65 left. Must throw in the towel. Mucho work to do around the house. Later gators! *POOF*
bye judi
bye, judi, have fun
it's a keeper, jess :)
how goes your weekend?
I think it is a little crude actually
yeah, but i'm not as classy as you are, ruru
well...
is someone going to put Judi's towel in the wash?
I mean, wine tasting in france? how can a back-woods girl compete with that? :D
if you can brew some kick-arse moonshine we will forgive you:)
hahah. sadly, not in my skill set, crossy.
I can ride an alpaca though, if that's of any use?
only if you can knit me a nice alpaca sweater;)
I can crochet, but someone else will have to spin the wool...
never learned knitting.
i am of no use to you... *le sigh*
:(
no moonshine...no sweater.. can you dance?
Hello babbleworld!
How's your weather crossy?
I used to be pretty decent at swing dancing, but am rather out of practice
morning, jilly
Hi jes! How's the menagerie?
actually, you can be handy, jes. My kitties, all three of them seem to be itchy and have developed scabs in certain areas, no fur has come out and nothing is open or running, but is there something I can bathe them in to help untill i can save for a vet visit?
I can do a dog c-section in 45 minutes or less though, that's gotta count for at least a little? :D
did someone say DANCE?
menagerie is chaotic as usual, jilly. Know anybody that needs a 3 legged cat? :D
are they all scabby in the same areas? what areas? you've looked for fleas first off, i assume?
all inside cats, no fleas. scabs running along back of the spine and highly sesitive on top near tail
I'd take him jes...just a bit of a drive...also Harpjane is catless...
{{crossy}}
((ruby))
Yipes crossy..poor little dears!
what are they rubbing under? did anybody put shampoo or lotion on them? change hand lotions/lotion your hands before petting?
how are you ruby?
I'm willing to transport for a good home, jilly :)
and Montana's not that long a drive from Washington
we use a pet approved condition shampoo by Hartz but they developed the scabs and itching before that
Hmmmm....will have to approach jane...
I'm OK, thanks Jilly, just dealing with poor old husband
However, we've had nicer weather in Sept and Oct than in the whole summer
I know ruby..any help from docs?
Is HE7 a plural?
There's nothing to be done for him
*Picks up Judi's towel with a stick and tosses it in a hot wash*
hello MLF
(((hugs))) so sorry ruby...wish you weren't so far away!
and here at least you cannot go near a vet for anything unless you have MINIMUM of $200 to burn:(
hello ruby
hmm. well, you can try bathing with dishsoap, and wiping them down with benadryl spray in case they got into something that set off an allergic reaction
that's cuz canadian money's like monopoly money... :D
My dogs are getting their winter fur and look enormous! Baby girl is almost as big as the male
(or is it actually higher value than USD now?)
lol, it is on par with your greenbaCKS ATM:)
you could bring them to visit me, exam is $50...
just vets need lots of them:))
lol,jes
ruby?
ty, jes will try the benadryl spray
I thought I said "Hello" MLF, how many words do you have left? We're usually about the same at this time
yes we said hello to each other:)
What about oral benedyl jes?
won't they lick off the Benadryl?
i have 38 left
yes, what about them licking the benadryl off?
You are way ahead of me then
oral benedryl is fine, but they often don't like the taste.
sorry ruby
Crossy..... where do you figure that our dollar is par ? We've been watching it closely, being as we go to Az. right after Christman. Right now, it is only worth 89 cents against the U.S. dollar.
anyway i am out of here poof
give it in a piece of banana the benedryl
When Rufie scratches too much, before I put him on steroids, I give him half a Benadryl capsule but it makes him sleepy
1mg/pound is the oral dose
mm.. last i saw here at the store it was taking $1,05 to buy a greenback
it changes constantly, dianne
bye MLF
sleepy is good if he's itchy ruby
It's been below 90 for qute a while
as of this split second you need $1.11 CAD to get a U.SA dollar
I check one a week, not hour by hour:)
an extra 11 cents!? see, monopoly money! hahahahah
and about $1.30 for one euro
not that i order from the U.S that often
lol,jes
you are jealous of our pretty polymer bills
i totally am.
When I worked in the bank years ago, it was the other way.
though stater money's getting more colorful the last few yeas.
years, even.
a Euro note went through the wash and it was barely OK after, not like US money
was just a few years ago we were over par and in the late 70's as well
our new bills are bulletproof as long as you do not put them in a hot dryer
I'd rather have monopoly $$ than monopoly healthcare...
Mi6,24 help please?
do they actually melt?
skinny dog says she wants to go poo... back in a bit :)
poor jilly:(
they can, ruby
In 2011, we got just over par.... didn't last long though :-( I never order good from the States, but we do put a "little" into their economy when we spend 3 months down in Az.
sorry erda, too early in...will go look
but good thing is you can go swimming with them no problems'
and a trip through the laundry does no harm :-)
past tense of what bishops wear (mi6)
yes, duty on stuff from the U.S is horrible. i ordered a special plushie from Disney store in U.S, the duty was just as much as the cost of the plushie!!
was a classic style eeyore for the mrs:)
That's the second one. I need the first one...
more of Walter Mity
mi + neur****, psych****...
ty all
sorry, guess that is the third....have not listed yet...
had to go move my car for the plow guy.....snowing all day so far....wet, heavy stuff....UGH!
gosh.. it's so warm out here I have to apply sun tan lotion today :D
well my outdoor hanging plant still has flowers....
now with snow on them...
We were supposed to have some snow, but it stayed above freezing....mountains look like it came down to about 4000 ft
well it's 38 on the ground here....
back again
39F here. but clear and dry so not bad for dog walking.
Humidity high enough to make it feel nippy here
Yuck...too much re4/5ing to the left today!
very windy here,too.....large branches on a tree broke off when I was moving the car...
Well, halfway and nbt/nbs...off for a couple of chores.
work to do....bbl to finish...
no wind here , tis 4c and bright blue skies:)
bye, penquis
I am trying to work up the will to do some laundry:(
and failing:(
haha. daylight savings time is messing with skinny dog's he4, she thinks it's lunch time now.
for a skinny dog, it is always lunch time:)
she eats like a hobbit - 6 meals a day :)
but she's up to 32 pounds :)
of course, breakfast, elevenses, lunch, afternoon snack, tea time, supper, evening snack and bed time snack
biab
exactly!
Actually, Hobbits have 7 meals a day. Breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, lunch, tea, dinner and supper.
oh, I'm sure Effie would love a second breakfast too :)
Second breakfast is the best.
maybe....but the only time i have 2nd breakfast is if i've been rousted from bed entirely too early.
hello, back again
morning, annie
hi jes :)

ty
it's awful here
What are the stats for the lone F please?
fo6
to take in a pet before adoption
sorry harp
hi harp :) Jilly says you are currently catless and might be interested in changing that?
thanks, jilly is a big fat liar! (um what have you got in mind....)
hahaha. i have a 20 month old s/f short haired kitty that lost her leg in a dog fight
she's super cute and friendly, vaccinated, microchipped, and has the adorable name of Pet Ball
(which could totally be changed if it doesn't suit)
lol i thought i read "pit bull"
ha! that'd be a great name for her! (She started the fight with the dog, because it was eating her food)
Gee, and I thought of lager when I saw fo6
so i think you could say I'm ambivalent
so i think you could say I'm ambivalent
photo
Are you in Montana, jess?
I'm in washington, but could transport
It's got to be warmer in Montana than here today
pictures: https://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/30\n185875/
Hi everyone! Happy Sunday!
hi nrkii :)
hi nrkii. Do you play QP?
yes, bichon, I do
I love QP
Tiny url for Jes's link: http://tinyurl.com/nsgvqak
I recognized your name
hello friends. well, november is playing us a nasty trick....smowing!
ooh, yes, you are there too! I've become a little tunnel-visioned lately because super busy, so I had not noticed that you were in both places... :)
We don't have snow, but it wicked windy
where, Trif?
oh, sorry... i always forget to do that.
massachusetts
I usually notice you
Penquis said she had snow too. Even weirder, my sister had snow in North Carolina.
it was snowing SIDEWAYS on the way to church. Booooo
Funny, there is a 3 leggedcat on a local bulletin board also
Ooh, I should call my mom and see what she's getting. She's in western MA.
We have big wind here too, but it's not that cold.
no snow here in NC. your sister must be in the mountains.
Very windy here in NJ, and chilly. I'm hibernating.
tripods are cute :)
Yesterday it was 42 and raining, today the same with no rain but awful wind
She is in the mountains Mixi
Bichon, I notice that you are always a high scorer on QP. I notice you there, but never made the connection back to here. Ciocia Judy also plays both. And Scrabbler. Probably others.
riter
sorry.
what is qp ??
I tried to recruit more people over to Quote Puzzler a couple times on Babble before, but it's tough to add even more games to what people already do. I love that QP only takes me about 30 minutes each day, so I always go there first and then come to Babble after that.
Yes, Scrabbler and Judy. But I wouldn't call me a high scorer. Sometimes
will have to look into QP.
Haz is also nrkii, but I rarely see her on Babble any more
must run. bbl.
http://quotepuzzler.com/default.asp
QP is lots of fun if you like word games. It's time too.
FranMag is on both as well.
I don't know here, what is her name on QP?
*I meant timed.
Looks like she didn't play yesterday. I think it's FranMag there.
back home from Hawaii. Was so awesome, and it is so blooming cold here. So ready to go back!
count for the lower middle i please?
nm....nbt
in5, in7, in8
BBL.
ty
Welcome home Phan. It is not that cold here. You are fortunate to have been in Hawaii.
looking up QP
It's Quiz Puzzler Ruby
I didn't know what it was either until someone explained what QP meant
in5 isn't a word, it's a prefix! bah.
Molly, have you ever done QP? You'd be good at it
Of course, Molly, but it is hard going from 80's to 40's in one fell swoop
No Bich, I barely have time for this game.
I know what you mean
<---Weeps for the tragedy of Phan's predicament
But it doesn't take long as it is timed. I can finish in under 15 min
haha!
What are the stats for the bottom row O and i please?
oi4/8
in7/32...in8/45...ic5/12
Wait, scratch the ic...it's in5/16
got the i thanks
lol on the piggy word
thanks, nbt now
nbs
ag8 clue please?
ag + short period of relaxation + almost frozen water
I wish i could help you jes
thanks molly
Apparently, it describes the area in which Jes lives : D
thanks :)
back for a spell. feeling housebound.
it sounds as if the win has died down a bit.
Unless it's really cold (and it's not) I love the wind. Great reminder of the force of nature.
i have 3 left and my brain has exited the arena
yes, had to dodge some large branches down earlier, after all of that rain.
Bon soir, mes amis :-)
Oh look, she is practicing her French for her trip : P
*Sets the timer*
May wee!!!
bon soir soodle
I used to massacre French on purpose to aggravate my husband. Bone sewer
Ah, Harp!! Long time no see. :-)
Oh poor forgetful Soodle. She was just asking Harp about her Ireland trip the other day.
Oh my. My head is melted!
*Pats Soodle on the head and pours her a glass of wine*
Alas. Sunday is a non-vino night, on account of the horror that is Monday morning. :-(
A nun taught me French. Sr Josepha. We used to delight in massacering French to torment her.
Are you such a light weight that one glass of wine would destroy your Monday?
Tis a long time since I was called a light-weight in any context. :-(
We used to drive Sr Josepha banannas by calling her Sr Joe-Feesa. Innocent times!
My Dad's middle name was Joseph. My Mom used to pronounce it Jofus. : D
To tease him, not because she was ignorant of the correct pronunciation.
I have a nephew named Yusuf but my granddaughters cant say that and call him Doofus - so we all call him that now!
Now see, I would have thought of all that before I named a kid Yusef.
True but his dad is muslim it is probably only the English side of the family that cant pronounce it!
Lol, kid's pronounciations can be very funny. My youngest used to declare things to be hobbirle if she deemed them horrible.
is there a discrepancy between tile stats and words in the list for anybody but me?
My sister wanted her kids to call my parents Grammy and Grandpa. That got mangled into Maimie and Pee Pot. Maimie stuck, Pee Pot did not.
trouble is you go on reminding them of their pronunciations till they are about 50!!
No discrepancy for me
No Jess, mine tallied. Can I help you with one of my infamously pathetic clues?
y twin's name is Rene but I could only manage wawa, when my daughter was tiny she called her Fifi and it stuck - luckily because before that she called her Weewee
Rofl Moll .. Pee Pot!!! How appropriate! I must remember to tell my Dad that one.
Your post got a bit distorted, Deeha. Are you a twin?
weird. my list says i have 3 left, but i've got 4 white tiles in the stats...
My sister's granddaughter calls her Granna. I love that. I was hoping for GraMolly, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen.
Yes I have a twin sister
Refresh Jes
well poo. reloaded and now they match, because i have 4 words left... it's like the list is growing! :P
st7/36 please?
I always, always, always wanted to be a twin. For no reason i could ever understand.
And Molls .... Early days yet. Never say never...
Seems I'm in repetative mode this evening. Sorry
We fought literally tooth and nail when we were little. We mainly avoided each other in our teens. We are now best of friends even ifit took 70 years!!!
I'd say you just described most twins' relationships, Deeha.
So your sisters name is Rene - what's your first name?.. (Hoping it's Renata...)
Her name is actually Irene, we called her Rene, then my daughter renamed her Fifi and her husbands family have given her a Muslim name Rehanna so it gets a bit confusing! Being born so soon after Wizard of Oz my name is Dorothy!!
Cant believe anyone remembers Rene and Renata!! They only made one record didn't they!
"Her name was McGill, and she called herself Lil, but everyone knew her as Nancy."
nobody has st7/36?
OK folks I am off to watch Downton. Have a good evening all
bye, deeha
howdy, sam
Howdy from the lurk section.
Proof of how I excel at table quizzes. I retain the most ridiculous information, yet forget important stuff
I gave up on Downton. Last season was so lame I couldn't muster any interest in watching this year.
Lol, Sam!!
I have st7/32, not 36
st7...flummoxed, unable to figure something out.
i swear i tried that, molly. thanks.
TY Molly. Thought that one required a Y
I've never seen it spelled without a y except for here.
gh6?
That one had me st7/36
g + not him + two vowels, if you can dig that word
thanks again
and fireworks once i get the grid to re-accept the first word I put in (da4/5).
Ruru, boy genius, got that gh in record time at the flip
Hi folks
woot to jes
I'm with you on the Downton thing Molls. Never did a series fail to live up to expectations like DA
Hello Bich. :-)
I liked it. I don't know if I want it to continue beyond this year
Hi Soods
On the plus side... Son of Soodle treated his elderly mother to a particularly nice Chinese take-away this evening!
Yeah for Soodle's kids. Winners all of them
Yee Gods, would you stop referring to yourself as "elderly"?
I thought boyo was out slugging poteen and shooting pheasants.
*Ding* The timer went off
Indeed he was Molly. The pheasant population in the hinterlands of Chez Soodle has been decimated. Whilst I don't necessarily approve of feathered creatures being shot, I thank the stars that he is shooting pheasants, not heroin.
Well, we would all be vegetarians if hunters did not hunt. Glad Son Of Soodle enjoyed a testosterone filled afternoon.
And hell yes on the heroin comment.
Hi, soodle and all
As darkness falls early, it will soon be time to light the first fire of the year and recite "Old Woman Of The Roads" before it, which has been re-written as "A Woman Who Needs Her Lake House"
hi all
I am not happy about early darkness
Hi, Peri
I like closing the curtains and settling down for the evening.
cire
My usual entry card - a free word
I'd rather have early darkness and be able to walk the dogs in daylight in the morning
Don't you walk your dogs at night?
yes, but they've been sleeping all night and need to wake up their elimination activity. If you get my meaning
Very polite expression bichon :)
I try to make things civilized here
I hate waking up in the dark in the morning. It's cold.
That's it for me. Anyone need a clue?
Congrats bichon 😊 no clues for me thanks, still need too many
se7 pls
nm found it on morewords

Hi, Chrissie
Hi Jaxx:) and all
"And all" waves at L
How's your hand/arm doing?
lilliann, welcome
Waves back :)
My hand is itching which I take as a sign of healing.
So L, you're okay with being called Lilliann now?
yes, i would say that is a good sign.
Molly, what are you insinuating?
Believe me, i've been called worse lately so Lilliann is better than owt, but yes i do prefer lilli or as you call me..L
Then that is what I will call you - lilli
I'm sorry but Molly and I do not get on. I will go and lurk.
I call her L-Cheeks
Jax, I've said on here i prefer my name shortened(name on here) and my real name as when i was younger and i was in trouble with my parents they would say my whole name instead of the shortened version i was used to
Jax, aslong as you don't swear at me you can call me owt and don't go.i came to chat because i saw you here
Hi ru, it's better than big cheeks i suppose!!:)
No butts about that
now i know why i haven't been on here so long ru...your bad jokes!! lol
Ouch
Well you aren't the only one L. 😉
Actually, i must be really sad as i've missed them!!
I know you've missed my butt! :)
Very much so
howdy again my friends:)
I see elf butt!!:)
Gnome butt
Your jokes may be the worst i've ever heard but they still may be giggle:)
sorry, gnome butt
Hi Crossy, nice to see you
It's a Gnome!!
nice to see you as well
I would prefer to see your butt at the crack of dawn however...😂
Believe me, you wouldn't!!
As usual, the chat has gone down hill
Lol
tushies everywhere!!
I've missed you two
Glad you are back too
My jokes are in arrears apparently
aye, i'm sure...like a hole in the head or a badd tooth that keeps playing up!! :)
OMG...they get worse, if possible
But i still can't help but giggle...
and I am behaving.. lol
You should have a colon at the end of that setence lill
Jaxx, please come and chat
You are Crossy...are you feeling ok?
As my bairn says alot lately Ru...Whatever!!
lol. I am already in the doghouse here. Must be on my best behavior:). I am making peace offering to her ofCrossy's famous pulled pork
(to my beloved that is).. though jaxx can come for a plate as well:)
Crossy? were you going to come over to the Uk this year?
I thought last year, and that fell through. Then this year is filled with my studies..:(
Doghouse? Whadja do crossy?
woot! lil's back!
Sounds lovely Crossy. What did you do?
with my pork?
Hi Welki:)
give me your email and I can send you my secret recipie
Oh dear, sometimes men are thick!!
things are going well on your side of the screen? daughter/hubby ok?
No, with your beloved
ahh, that is a long and sordid tale full of woe..
she will forgive... once I have groveled enough
Aye the bairn turned 15 last week, so normal teenage dramas and hubby away as normal.I think he might be back in 10 days, hopefully for a couple of months
How's everything going with you Welki?
It's our 14th wedding anniversary tomorrow and i think i've probably seen him about 7 years worth in all that time,if that
it's hard to maintain a marriage when there are so many long absences - on the other hand, it seems to work for you, so maybe there's some merit to it :)
doing fine, thanks - hunkering down for the winter months
Crossy, i've put my email up and will get rid of it in a few minutes.
Yes, i must admit,i'm used to it and 2 months with him at home normally does my head in but i would prefer him to be back a bit more and longer than a day and a half every 6-9 weeks
and - 15! hahaha, no light at the end of the tunnel for quite some time - girls can be rough at that age, sooo sensitive, but 'leave me alone,' you'll have your hands full. i know the two of you get on fine, but it's a rollercoaster from 15-19
Let's hope you don't have too much snow Welki
ok lilliann, got it :)
we had about 2 feet of it in september (melted pretty fast) and five inches of snow since yesterday - it's coming :(
Ok Crossy and ty
Oh no...well keep warm and safe Welki.
It's been a roller coaster with her since she was 13 so i'm sure i can cope with another few years...not!!
ok, lilliann, it is on its way to you:)
Thanks hin
:)
The bairn is going to cook us and our next door neighbours Christmas dinner this year but it will be a few days before Christmas as we are going away as normal
time here to start thinking about getting supper started - it's GOOD to see you again, lil!
Is five inches really a lot?
Of snow...
It was my idea to have Christmas before we went away as she didn't want to come on holiday and i think she misses not having her Grandad with us Christmas as he won't come with us and i suggested it to my hubby so he put it to her as his idea and suggested that she has to do everything...planning, cooking and let him know how much per head
not really, but here, all the people have to learn to drive in it again. is really dangerous out there for the first few snowfalls
You too Welki, tc hin and hopefully speak again soon.x
Ah..
by mid-December we are all in the groove once again, tearing down snow-packed roads at 80k with a latte in one hand, yelling at the kids in the back, and driving with one hand:)
I didn't like driving in the snow and it's nowt like you get Crossy.I just hate being cold and the when it snows it makes me dizzy...so it wasn't a good combination
5 inches is alot to some people Ru:)
Well....
best for driving is good solid snow-pack. The wet sloppy stuff is what causes collisions; that and ice
Yeah when i lived in oregon we had black ice...hated that
Aye, ours is normally sloppy and balck ice
*black ice
I dont care for snow
My husband wants to go to Alaska and trek in the snow..i would prefer to go and sit in a jungle with Gorillas or Orangatangs...saying that, i'd need him to go with me so he could throw me over his shoulder to get there in the first place
I'll just have to hire myself a young muscular fit man to do it:)
And no Ru, that's not you...sadly :)
Can anyone give me a clue for am7 please
Found it
Hoping I can see this grid...just worked a 12-hr day and I'm FRIED!!
Fireworks!!
Hooray for lilliann!!
It's been great been chatting ,now i'm off to see Crossy's pulled pork recipe:)
Hi Mimi:)
Oh, lilliann, you would LOVE gorillas!
I would love to see them in their own habitat Mimi.you need to finish your book hin, so i would know what it's like as it's never going to happen for me
They are so gentle and intelligent. Used to have a 500 lb. male take M&M's from my hand with just two fingers, gingerly taking them so as not to hurt me.
Pouring Mimi a drink, and putting your feet up on a pouffe and giving your shoulders a massage
If you ever go to Tampa to Busch Gardens, their rainforest habitat has my baby Kishina and her mom Inaki. Kishina LOVES to clown with the people.
Aww bless.I've seen loads of zoo programmes here and i know they like sweet things.
Am going with a good friend, his wife and kids to a great zoo here...I'm SO much fun to go there with because I speak the languages!
And I can tell the kids things no one else does.
i watched a programme here a few weeks ago and it showed a male gorilla who had to have his arm amputated because is hand was shot to pieces, literally as he got shot when he was a baby and his mother got killed, but he was 6 i think when they did it and the lady who is English and bought him up in this gorilla centre found it difficult to make the decision because she wasn't sure how the other gorillas would then treat him, but they all mothered him, which was lovely to see
If i ever get to the States, i will definitely go there then Mimi
((Mimi))
You have a very lovely place there in England with the Aspinal Zoo...amazing work with gorillas and many others.
((crossy))
You'll have to come here Mimi
I just might do that...have wanted to for years. This same friend I'm going to the zoo with just did a tour of England with his wife and kids a couple of months ago. They just loved it...especially Bath.
I could not get so close and not go to Scotland.
Did they go on a coach trip Mimi?
If you ever do get here, lilliann, I'll personally escort you wherever you like!
I used to live near both of the Aspinall Zoos and have been loads of times and loved watching the gorillas
I don't really know what kind of trip.
We only live acouple of hours away from Scotland and seeing as hubby works there alot, he could tell you alot about the history
One day I must go to Africa.
I'm a big Highlander fan, lilliann...heart palpitations just thinking about Adrian Paul...
It's just that the trips that husband does, he takes Americans all over the UK and one place is Bath
And I adore the accent!
I should say Great Britain and Ireland..rpublic and Southern
Am watching the hummingbirds at my feeder now...love them. Raised one once...every vet said it couldn't be done but I did it!
Wow!! I've never seen a humming bird but i have seen a humming bird moth which i thought was great
The cats love watching them, too. But it gets a little hectic with other birds as well and sometimes I feel like Tippi Hedren.
I've been to Africa, but not to the Countries that i can do a safari, but would love to.
We have a place here in Arizona called Ramsey Canyon that has bungalows with lots of feeders and hummers come there from all over. They're used to people so you can get quite close and some will perch on your finger.
Hummers are gutsy little birds...they tame down easily.
Now that I finally have a camera I'm going to take some pics of my beautiful balcony patio and hope to get some pics of hummers, too.
Tippi Hedren, was that the actress in "the Birds" and isn't she Melanie Griffiths mam?
Yes on both counts!
She also has a foundation and a rehabilitation center for orphaned, abused, unwanted exotic animals. She's amazing.
Oh good, my memory does work sometimes :)
It's called Shambala.
It would be great to see some of your photos Mimi.I'll have to look that up
Sorry, folks, didn't mean to monopolize the chog...I just love taking about animals.
I will post some on Babble Facebook, lilliann.
I don't go on there anymore Mimi
I'll em them to you, dear.
OK..time to get food...have only eaten once since 4 am and am getting peckish. Have a good evening, everyone, and hugs all around.
Brilliant.ty.I'm suppose to go on there but will explain in an em
....and the martinis have begun...
Enjoy your well needed food hin. It's great talking to you as normal.big hugs and tc.i'm off to bed now so bye all, sweet dreams andtc
Not worried about ebola lill?
I am fortuneate; I have stzred death in the face so many times that I have no fear of ebola--or little else for that matter. Beaides, worrying about tomorriw does as much good as trying to empty the ocean with a tea- spoon:)
Darn typos. Just read through them. Am on tablet
how are you on speeding head on trucks crossy ?
:D
Well , if agruck hits me head on know thetruck driver will be sharing in the fun
Been run over already... was a pita
pita?.. did you falafel all over yourself?
The morphine was nice though;))
oh.. I have never had morphiine
Lol now that is a good one ru;)
:D
Morphine makes a new man out of you... and he will want some too :)
oh.. never been in that much pain I guess
Break a few bones in your leg and back all at the same time and you will get there:)
oh please.. not me .. I don't want to break anything
Mean nurses cut you off after a week or so tnough:(
hmm.. I've never been in a hospital for overnight
You are not missong much
I guess so.
Missing
I have been mistyping all day too
I think I hit the enter button too quickly
a problem in my life I guess :D
I never let spelling get in the eay of a good story:)
Way
That,
That is what spell check in ms word is for:)
hi again (i've had morphine - and understand 100% how easy it could be to become addicted)
oops - time lapse.
I was st7/36 by this grid for a while, but now the firewords! tx all cluers
ty! was just looking for that one
se7?
se + a 5-letter poison
ty, good clue
hi all
Heya jmc ..
fw... anyone need any clues before I head out?
<---clueless here
Hi Ru... how're things?
nice today.. did enjoy my day
what were you up to?
I had to help my ex do some cleaning on the house and run a few errands for her.. dropped off some donations for a fund-raiser, watched some football, made a nice simple dinner.. went for a nice walk with Dylan
:D all in all a nice day
congrats on finishing spell..
Dylan = dog? Sounds productive. What did you make for dinner? If I recall you're a pretty reasonable cook (at least on paper).
Dylan = dog .. (buddy)
Yes, this one was a bear. Learned a few words though... Never heard of gh 6/27 before
I roasted some chicken breasts with herbs de provence lemon, honey, and made a 5 bean salad with a citrus vinaigrette
simple.. easy.. light
Sounds yummy.
I am a good cook.. not necessarily on paper though
cooking is easy for me really
We've two kitties, but when we go for our walk in the morning we often run into a neighbor who has three dogs, so hubs and I each take one from her.
I go in spurts with my cooking. Right now I cannot get myself motivated.
I have to be motivated.. no one else will cook for me :D
Usually I'm a reasonable cook, but I have stories from my earlier days! ;-p
Honestly, I'd be more motivated if someone else would clean up after me!
I made red pepper/heritage tomato soup last week with bacon and grilled shallots.. that was yummy and I made grilled cheese sandwiches.. that's what I was craving
I have to say.. I used to leave the kitchen not cleaned up completely, but DC Seain here got me started on waking up to a clean kitchen in the a.m. and I do have to say I really like it
We have a restaurant near here that was just grilled cheese sandwiches and cold cereal. (They're still in business 5 years later.)
have you tried Manhattan Beach Post yet?
or Fishing with Dynamite?
those two restaurants are close to you
I despise having to deal with cleaning up the next day. I will work until 3am if I have to after company to get things cleaned up, but I cant deal in the am.
yeah.. I am like that now too
No to both. Looking up Dynamite now.
it's so much better
MB Post is fantastic. I would eat there once a week If I lived near you
If they were up here in Napa the line would go around the block twice
As I suspected, Dynamite has nothing on the menu for me (vegan). It's hard to get us over to the west side these days. We have many good restaurants here
oh.. vegan.. I didn't know
several vegan restaurants in venice though
When were were on the Big Island BV (before vegan), we discovered the Seafood Shack. OMG, we wound up eating there 4 out of 5 nights! It was so good I wrote to the chef and begged him to open a location here. No luck
MB Post has a lot of vegan stuff I think.. especially if you let them know
I tried veganism in my teenage years .. mostly to piss my folks off
After a cursory viewing of the menu, it appears we'd do fine there.
My dad would always say.. "pass the Dead Flesh Dorothy" to my mom when I'd be eating brocoli
I was a very, very rebellious youth.. who knew huh?
We went vegan after a significant bout of cancers in my family (and diabetes, and heart disease). And they don't live that long
Ha! I like your dad. We changed the subway jingle to "Eat Flesh"
oh.. there's a great reason
No way Ru, you --rebellious? I never would have guessed
that's what I thought.. really.. I compromise on almost everything :D
this day-light savings time has completely screwed me up though
I feel like going to bed soon and it's only 8
It's a great reason in theory, but who knows if it will actually result in a healthier / longer life. (Or if it just feels longer, eh?)
Wow... Rebellious Ru, going to bed at 8pm.
well.. better safe than sorry I'd say spell
On a lighter note, what is your best recipe?
I could read for a bit and come back for the flip.. but I'm afraid I'll fall asleep and wake up for the 700 club
hmmm.
it involves meat.. so I wouldn't want to upset you
I had an AMAZING recipe for chix thighs on the grill. It was a balsamic rosemary honey marinade. We would eat it straight from the grill.
HELLO 60 to go
that sounds great. I love rosemary
Ha! 700 club. I can't imagine any channel that promotes that show on your tv
hi harp
Hello Jane. Let me know if you need clues
I meant the chat late at night :D
Ru - Ha! I'm 50, not 20... you can't upset me if you talk about meat.
So you've spent time down here. Ever see the Culver City Meat trucks rolling by. Their slogan "You Can't Beat Our Meat."
my best dinner is really grilled Colorado (Marinated) lamb loin chops with rosemary/garlic flan, and a grilled shitaki/chantrelle mushroom compote with a rich balsamic reduction sauce
o's are omitted!
I made this + several other courses for my friends 65 birthday a few months back in NY
Sounds rather gourmet like, Ru.... and sounds like quite the birthday gift.
NJ Jane.
the first course was grilled Scallops on crispy potatoes and drizzled with white truffle oil and deep fried black olive spirals
the second course was a beet salad with oranges, fennel, and blue cheese with a basalmic dressing
That sounds amazing... even without the scallops.
dessert was blueberry crème brulee with Chateau D'Yquem
The lamb was the main course... and what was for dessert?
I leveled the room
I was cooking in this teeny tiny Long Island kitchen
BTW, are you watching the Ravens / Steelers game?
no.. I can't stand ben rothesberger
I lived on LI for awhile... we didn't have a teeny kitchen. My kitchen here is teeny.
Ah.. we just had back to back amazing TDs
re6?
it's more challenging to cook in a tiny kitchen
we?
So, why did you not cook me a special vegan dinner for my 50th
re + cut the fat
thanks
you didn't invite me. I do cook lots of veggie meals
re 6/21 to cut the bangs again
I will some day though.
Hubby and me.
get you guys to come up to Napa for a visit
I was in Muir Beach with the Mr and Mom.
I love Muir Beach.. beautiful
Muir Beach for the 50th, that is
oh.. to be 50 again
He rented a house there; it was really special.
nice
I just turned 60 not long ago
You know, everyone says that... but to try remember what it was like when you hit 50. Approaching it from this side is not fun.
am7?
Happy BD. Mine's in March, so I've acclimated to the number.
yeah.. double that with 60 :D
may i ask how to make deep fried black olive spirals?
amicie
multiple houses of horror harp
oops
am7
thanks lol
Jane, expanding on Ru's clue.. they're on Long Island
Yes, I was wondering that myself TC
they sound delicious
you get firm black olives.. and dip them in a milk/flour/egg batter// and deep fry them in canola oil.. just briefly until they are crispy and brown.. they are amazing with scallops and truffles
36 to go. i am so hungry! would you people mind ceasing all talk about food until i get finished?
you have to use a paring knife to cut them into spiral curls
very sharp knife
thanks, I love black olives. do you spiral them first,
spiral first
you screw up a few until you get the hang of it.. it's like peeling an apple
Sounds yummy, but perhaps too much work! (Plus I don't really fry things)
that's going to be on my menu tomorrow night. yum
spell you would be a pain in the ass to cook for :D
LOl
Oh no, if you want to do the work, I'm totally okay with that.
But it does take a few weeks to get used to the "no meat, no eggs, no dairy" thing
to do the potatoes.. you slice them really thin.. and brown them in a sauté pan.. with olive oil.. until they are crispy and golden brown.. lay them out on paper towels until they dry.. then just put them inm a warm oven before serving
and how, may I ask, did you prepare the lamb?
the scallops you bread on one side and sear them on higher heat and then when golden brown.. flip them and touch them until they don't jiggle and are firmer.
place the potatoes in a line on the plate .. place a couple scallops on top.. decorate with deep fried olives and arugula and drizzle with white truffle oil and salt and pepper
The whole meal sounds wonderful!
c'mon you guys...this late at night for me here and you're making me hungry!!!
the lamb I marinate in soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic, shallots, orange peel, rosemary, and salt and pepper.. and I just grill them on the barbeque
If we ever wind up moving away from here, I'm going to miss the rosemary right outside my door. I love it too!
Sorry Jeanne...
I use it all the time.. I think I was born in the south of france in a past lifetime
were they lamb chops?
small loin chops from Colorado
not the rack of lamb chops.. but thicker loin chops.
they are sort of triangular shaped
s'okay....just afraid the drooling will short out my keyboard. ..
I trim off all the fat and cook them quickly to be medium rare
thanks for all the info. I don't like to cook everyday stuff, but would rather occasionally make a special meal and this sounds like the very right one
I'm happy to do the recipe more exactly for you if you'd like it's pretty easy
I did it for 13 people in a tiny kitchen and it only took me two hours to cook
lots of prep.. but once you get things fired. it goes really fast
Thank you so much. I'm heading up to the big city where there is a really nice meat market so that I can get the lamb.
Ru, do you wing it when you cook, or do you work off recipes?
I wing it... I never measure
I have been cooking since I was 5 years old
Sounds like you are quite the accomplished chef.
my wife would show me a picture of a dinner in a magazine and say this looks good and I could take a quick glance at the ingredients and make it later that night
I love cooking for people..

Come to LA, come to LA, come to LA....
Good progress Jane.
:D !!!!
go harp gooooo
what do you do for protein spell?
soy? Beans? nuts?
Really... sheesh. How long a list do you want.
Seitan, soy, beans, nuts, kale, quinoa....
oh.. Kale I eat a lot of. quinoa is messy
You used to be a vegetarian...
Beans I cook a lot from dried beans
Yes, but you can toast the quinoa before cooking instead of rinsing it... makes life easier.
yeah.. but I didn't know what I was doing .. I was just eating whatever my mom didn't over cook (as far as vegetables)
ac 5/12?....

Yes, we're very wussie when it comes to weather.
ten inches is a lot.. 3-5 isn't that bad
it was a lot for a first snowfall....esp after such a warm fall....
I own up to my wussiness. I've lived through 35+ years of miserable winters. You're more than welcome to them.
that's for sure.. spell. .our LA rep.. I have to listen to her complain for ten minutes before she gets to the reason she called me
I don't do snow.. not for me
too cold
ar5?
Yes. It actually rained a whole 1/4 of an inch here on Friday. It totally screwed up Halloween for most folks.
well we prefer them to mudslides, forest fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc...
I'm babble blind
ar 5/12 = ar plus anagram of frozen water
