good night
noght ruru. hope you can sleep well, mate
ugh * night *
good morning all
whoot!! {{hugs}} sprite. how was your night? how is Terra doing?
hello dear friend :) My night was moderately ok. And Terra is a lot better than yesterday. Moves easier, whines no more, looks like a happier dog.
and you, hun? How was your day?
good for Terra. pfft on your night.
hmmm, a bit busy. broke a piece on our shower fitting this am. so we have had to replace it, plus the week's grocery, fruit, veg and meat shop. oh and the chemist.
so glad. It is awful to see your dog suffer like that. Good thing was, he made perfectly clear he needed us close. Cuddled up against us in a blanket, he was relaxed.
oh dear... that is too much, rose. Preventative magnesium, methinks.
already taken, sweetie
hehehe good girl :) *hugs* for your poor body.
Hi and hugs, ladies. Not chatting. Focussing on this grid, which I am not liking!
hey Liz :D Explain to me... why focus on a grid you don't like and not chat with the girls you do like?
np's liz girl. {{hugs}}
Ok so I can't beat that argument for logic, so I guess I'll chat. Busy day tomorrow though - cooking and cleaning - friends for dinner. So the challenge needs to be met now!
*giggle* liz
:) and of course I like you much more than any grid!
hehehe you pick and choose, Liz, I was just teasing you. Sounds like fun, having friends over for dinner. What are you cooking?
Thai chicken curry, rice and salad.
oh sounds delish! When you find the time, would you mind sending me the recipe?
I knew that but still the logic was irresistible.
lol yeah :D Am glad.
Will do, tho as we also hope to beach walk in the afternoon, we'll cheat and use a paste as the base!
and rose, you said you would send me a recipe too, for easy and quick cooking and delish results.
oh yeah, so i did. writing down a prompt now.
awesome :D
What recipe is that, Rose?
for my fried rice.
Sounds good :)
it is so full of vegs and meats, and omelet you do not need anything else on your plate.
Sounds very good.
Where oh where are 73 words hiding?
I think they are sitting behind my 109 left
* peek-a-boo...i see you *
You'll find yours before me!
108 left, lol
72!
go go gooo Liz!
71 ;)
No I lie that last word will plural, so 70!
ah, going strong there, Liz.
Hi all. Hope everyone is well. Hey Rose, can I get in on that fried rice recipe?
Hi Dianne
hey Dianne :) Your recipe was a success here.
What was that recipe?
Glad your family enjoyed it.
sure thing dianne. do i have your email addy?
Liz, it was a skillet pork chop recipe.
Ah! Not for me then - don't eat pork.
just checked, yes i do
I'm sure it was lovely though.
yeah it was. You could replace the pork with kosher chicken, I think. Or lamb.
Could do! So perhaps you'd send me the recipe - I'm sure we can manage something!
I think it would be good with chicken on the bone but not as good with skinless chicken breast.
true, skinless chicken would become too dry
So thighs would work.
oh yes
Yes, Liz.
or drumettes, the little drum sticks from the wings.
Also sounds good.
hey all.... liz.... does pete still make stuffed chicken wings?
Glad dinners in the oven - starting to feel hungry!
He talks about it,Ro.
hi ro :)
Loved the poppy pics, Ro.
g'day rolin
i just had a flash of that recipe... i will have to see if i can find one...
yeah liz... den had a great time... there's another group from his work going today...but the weather is awful...so they won;t have as pleasant an experience
I guess from the pics it's a big anniversary project - is it just in London?
oh yes...only in london... there will be over 800,000 poppies planted ... one for each dead soldier in ww1... the last one will be planted on the 11th
Fantastic.
oh that is beautiful, rolin
the plan is to dismantle it on the 12th.... but ppl are now saying it should stay...and maybe be dismantled in four years for the length of the war... but there are too many practical probs...one of which is that every poppy has been bought by the public
It looks wonderful. P and I both went all tingly at the thought of it.
yeah... and i'm pissed that i might not see it!... we're thinking that we will go in first thing sunday... we're off to cardiff for rugby tomorrow
Enjoy! Rich asked if we wanted tickets for the cricket World Cup but we'll be in NZ.
Hope you do get up to see the poppies.
oh lovely..... but for now i'm off to carve into a little pot... bye all..
bye ro!
Enjoy your day.
67 - really stuck now. Will probably take a break soon and come back with fresh eyes later.
it is a twisty little grid for sure
Makes a change after the last few.

Lol

{{rosie}} are you still here?
Haven't stopped running for 3 days. I am somewhat overwhelmed
yes, my dearest ruby. {{hugs}
I haen't forgotten about "the letter" but haven't had a oment's peave.
aww, poor you, dear. sit a while, take the load off, and take a deep breath.
moment's peasce* (cose, but no cigar)
ATM Burt has gone (alone!!!) to the local pharmacy and I am waiting for the wood guy to come because it is suddenly very cold and we need to use the fireplace all day, every day
i know, hun. just whenever you are ready. btw, thanx so much for the pics of those extraordinary flowers.
will you be able to set the time on the watch for burt?
Yesterday I set the time and he can hear the funny voice perfectly. What is funny is that it is 1/2 a day later (th date) because in the afternoons, you are the next day. But I'll figure it out.
Yesterday I set the time and he can hear the funny voice perfectly. What is funny is that it is 1/2 a day later (th date) because in the afternoons, you are the next day. But I'll figure it out.
He is so grateful!
and he has my hand-made calendar for the date anyway
wonderful, ruby.
78 and nbt
waiting for woodman and B's return
make the most of it.....lol....it's a bit like when the last child has finally fallen to sleep.
exactly like that! but it won't be over 'til hes back, wood is here, dogs are safe, lunch is over and I can finally lie down
it's wonderful that burt can hear the voice so clearly. i think the manufacturer probably did research into the tone at which people would hear it best.
dinner ready. ruby, i hope your day is kind to you, dear.
Phantom: Incense.
g'day zooz
Good evening, Rose :-)
i'm watching " my left foot " have you seen it?
No I have not.It sounds like a comedy?
no, mate. it is the story of christy brown, an irish writer and painter, born with cerebral palsy.
Oh I see. I must admit to not seeing much on the film side of things.
I see he paints with just his toes.I admire people who can find a way to fulfill thier lives when things look very bleak.good on him for getting there!
it's an amazing story zooz. i must remember to not complain.
their*
Yes it makes you feel bad when you see there are many many people so much more worse off than we are.
yes it does.
Time for a cup of tea.
hi and bye, zzozz
((Ruby))
Is it cold there or does the Gulf Stream protect you?
At least it isn't raining here and no frost yet
No it has been getting colder as the weeks go by. Raining on & off here at the moment. No frost so far this winter.Although there is plenty of time for that..lol
I think our weather is similar. I still have a few flowers in the garden and the dogs are putting ontheir winter coats
How are you keeping, Ruby?
They look huge! and formidable
I still have flowers in mine too.and the birds still come in to feed on the food I put out for them :-)
oh, the birds! 3 times a day; we buy huge amounts of sunflower seeds, so they stay all winter
Off it go to lunch at the brasserie in the next village
XXzzoozz
At least they can keep you warm when the cold weather starts, Ruby. I remember you saying your hous is like mine.It does not keep the heat in very well.
Have a nice meal, Ruby!
Okay time for that tea.
Good morning people. Repeating after I typed this into the add word box :)
That shows how my morning is going.
I have done that so many times.
Good morning zoom
Hello, Sukee :-) How are you?
Better now, almost finished my first coffee.
How are you?
lol..The first one is always the best one.
Today is a gym day, going out in about 40 mins.
I am doing exercise right now.I am lifting my cup of tea to my mouth...And back down two..three.
:)
What type of work-out do you do, Sukee?
Rowing machine...walking machine..weights?
Well, do the recumbent bike, some bar exercises like leg lifts, and several machines that I don't know the name of. Ones that let you push various parts of your body against weights.
Sounds good. Hope you are feeling the benefits of all this hard work.
This wellness center is for those 55 and over. You basically get a personal trainer if you want. Plus, you get to know people and I now have a group I meet for coffee after.
I have mobility issues and these exercises definitely keep my legs limber.
I can also now lift the cat litter box with little effort :)
That sounds great, Sukee.Good for you.Glad you have found something that you can enjoy and get to chat with friends too.
Yes, since I work from home it is good to get out 3 days a week.
good morning everyone:)
My mother does swimming very early in the morning and has her set of friends that they have a coffee afterwards..and a good ole natter..she loves it!
Hello, Crossy :-)
And.... I am the youngest person there :)
Hi Crossy.
Even better..lol
I have just got my bicycle back on the road..Rode it to my parents house...not far from here. And it nearly killed me..lol I thought i was going to have a heart attack and that is no lie..took me ages to recover.I am so unfit now.
The spirt is willing, but the flesh is weak:)
Story of my life.
Yes something like that, Crossy..lol
My father said he has the mind to do many things but the body just can not do it.And he feels so sad and angry at it too.
I try and tell him he is no spring chicken anymore and has to take things easy.
well now, you know what you must do; you take that bike out every day, and you go just a tiny bit further than you did the day before, till you are biking 10 miles a day:)
I coud not agree with you more, Crossy. i used to do 10 mile charity bike rides with ease.just need to get back into the swing of things..lol
could*
it is a worthy goal and a fine exercise;) I do my penance with hiking.:)
Sorry that should of said 100 miles not 10..lol
Yes I have been getting back into walking near the forest I have here.Love trails & nature type things.
We have that in spade around my town with the Bruce Trail, so I have no excuse.
except when it rains and gets really muddy and it gets caked all over your shoes it feels like you are walking with two massive bricks on the bottom ot the shoes..lol
Though our coming winter will close down all but a few of those trails and I shall have to switch to my snowshoes and the trails we have for that.
No, I do not wade in mud:(
Bet that is great waking through all that snow with snowshoes.Would love that as long as i am wrapped up nice and warm :-)
Imagine a hippo in a pair of roller skate and you pretty much have me in a pair of snowshoes:)
hahahaha bless yer.
it defies nature and the laws of gravity every time i go out:)
who cares what you look like..as long as you are enjoying yourself and getting the exercise at the same time.
I have seen photos of you, Crossy. You are not anything you are describing there.
true words.
Now me if there is a big gust of wind, I would fly into the air like a leaf blown off a tree..lol
and I finally find a 9 letter word!
On another front, I am still wading though The Scarlet letter with assignment after assignment, and essay after essay. Wish I knew where this worthy gentleman, Mr. Hawthorne, was buried so i could dig him up and give him a shake! lol
yaaa!
Lovely, temperature is at 0
Finally gave in and got my winter coat out.
Is that on your daily musings, Crossy?
Getting nippy there then, Sukee :-(
we are sitting at 2c with a wind-chill of -4c;)
No, I have not added to my page in a bit now. i should update it when I am able.
13.4c here.
Calling for snow tomorrow
balmy 37f here...heck it's almost nearly freezing!
Well you do have a lot on your plate at the moment with all your revision so it is understandable.
Sounds cold, Evanonut.
Well, if winter is coming, i say bring it! let's get two or three feet of the stuff on the ground so I can get out my snowshoes!
lol
Good morning everyone
Okay send all the snow in Ottawa's direction.
Hello, Car :-)
howdy,car
Hi car.
Okay, I am off. Have a good day.
Enjoy your exercises, Sukee.
The Jeep is all tuned up and ready to go:)) I take especial joy in pulling peoples out of snowbanks these days:)
oh yar! i'll just sit here in me warm jammies while you candiites wax on about the chill
tc sukee
I bet they are glad when they see you, Crossy.
Oh yes found the second 9!
I'm not doing great here - I've found 87 but none of the long words. It's a bit of a slog for me today!
Well, it was a novelty last year; my first year with my new toy, so I was going down every cart path and goat trail of a road on the mountain.
Hello, Matty :-0
:-)*
Crossy's rescue service!
Crosshair rescue service it is snow joke being stuck!
lol! Not quite, If they put in in so far the snow is up to the side-mirrors then i am not much help either.
Then give them a spade and tell them to start digging..then you can pull them out after :-)
lol. Tis the season:)
As I say that..the sun comes out..yay!
sun??..what sun??... it is grey and dark and dismal here. Snow clouds if I have ever seen them.
Don't worry, the sun will not last long here.It is rathe blustery too so the clouds will soon be rolling overhead again i am sure.
Candiites...: D
Hello, Molly :-)
How are you today?
gm, everyone!
I am good, Zoom. Not one to get all ecstatic about the winter though.
Hello, Dawg :-)
hi
No I am not keen on it arriving either..but it will soon :-(
Must admit..do not know what candiites mean?
She was referring to the Canada folks : )
hi, zooz, car, Molly, crossy, matty, NUTCASE!! sukee, et.al
Ahh thank you!
Crossy what does canuck mean..if it is rude please forgive my ignorance?
Maybe i should just google it and see.
Zoom, most Canadians don't find Canuck offensive.
It's just a slang word for Canadian.
Yes just looked at wikipedia.Mostly to do with NHL hockey now.
Huzzah...I have all the vowels. I have accomplished something productive today.
I only asked as on flickr site there are a couple of Canadian photographers and they refer themselfs as canucks.
Just wondered what it meant.
Good going, Car!
That truly may be all I do today.
Ooo, lady of leisure.
Nice dodge of the PB, Molly :-)
Hi and good morning
Hello, Bichon.
I plan to do some serious walking today as yesterday was a total washout

I love to walk in the rain, but I can see how doing it with dogs would be some serious work once you got home.
Especially when they do there shake..lol
Some dogs like the rain, not Bichons. It ruins their curls
They will absolutely refuse to poop and wait for the rain to end
Oh my
And I am done.Happy babbling to you all.toodle pips for now.

my first chow, Rosie, wouldn't go out in the rain at all. I would have to take the ferry and drive her to our office which had some protected grass under the building.
Silly dog.

i think the one you asked for marc
And, as for water rescue ---hahah, chows can't swim. They stand on the bottom and wait for somebody to save them
Hah - got one 8 and nine

Hi Scrabs

Hi Bichon. I was holding Remy and cuddling him. Now he is running around like a little nut.
We were once at the beach and I tried to see if mine could swim. One swam to shore and wouldn't go in again. The other loved it and wanted more.

hey nutty :) how's the squirrel war going?
I was losing that battle till I fired the warning shot
i've got a dog that'd love to help you with it. also she'll guarantee no pesky rabbits in your yard...
my puppy just sits and stares
he's an observer
that him in the chair? he's a cutie
yup, he's my little 7 month old silver lab, thanks! had to put my Mackie down last November.
aw, sad
very, and broke my husbands heart that he was out of town when I had to do it.
:(
but its happy face now that I have my graphite!
had to put my old diabetic cat down a few weeksago... getting old sucks.

oh, gotcha. I thought you might have been drawing pictures or something :)
he is named graphite because I draw pictures actually
she's not really ready for adoption yet, TO, still on a taper of a bunch of meds. I've got a 3-legged cat that's ready to go though :)
no, no, no.
oooooooooh a tripod!
she's adorable, nut - her name's Pet Ball
no time for pets at present. perhaps next year.
and you should change that name to pit bull, jess!
yeah, i will if i end up keeping her, but still hoping to find her an else-where home :)
I don't get to have kitties, the hubber is allergic
poor kitty. realiztically, no way to keep a pet at preasent.
aww. how about hairless kitties?
wait - you HAVE a kitty.
they live outside now owl, with a nut constructed heated shelter. and maybe we can someday have a Russian blue jes, we know they don't make him sick.
poor wafflie.
i met a hippie named waffles at a dance festival last year.
ha ha ha, nice hippie name. waffles loves it outside, and sometimes he runs inside and then graphite makes him regret that decision
so they live in a coop?
i guess they are not declawed so they roam?
nope, an old dog kennel that I stitched up a nice fitted cover for and put a radiant heater in.
waffles is declawed, but he refused to stay inside when he was inside and he doesn't seem to realize he's clawless. best hunter of the three.
shoot, actual work required here, ta

Hi to anyone here.i could really do with a clue for te7 which is my last word please.I'm probably looking right at it!!
hello all - need a clue for the SH 7 - the one before the item you put on your foot. Please.
te 7/28 starts with a number and ends plural
Lilliann - sounds like nickels, dimes and P******
sh 7/32 ends in the part of a plant that grows under ground
H i Jindigo.sh7, a pronoun for female and the bottom of plants that grow under ground
thanks Lilli!

L, I thought of you the other day when I saw a recipe for pea flan. I am not kidding, pea custard. How gross is that?

Just starting on this clear-skied evening in the great Northwest.
hi there stidgmere, long time no talk! How are you? Did you get the storm last night? It was raging here, had no power almost all day and night. Please say hi to stidmama for me
Stidmama let me know the roads to her work were very rainy and windy so I did not volunteer yesterday. Bummer. We were very lucky here at home but we had already checked on our generator and were ready for any events. It has been far too long without seeing you.
Do you have a trip planned up this way in the Spring?
Not yet, but I really do want to see if Stidmama can break away during a long weekend or spring break.
Oh my I thought I was doing well until I got to all the sh words.
oh good, glad to hear it, looking forward to your visit. You are welsome to stay here, I have enough beds. Back to the puzzle for now...
We want you to be our guest, this time snnich. What a gift it is to have good friends!
OK we will trade off! You stay here with me where I am, then I will come with you to where you go from here and stay with you! That sounds like fun..can hardly wait to see you both again.
Now that is a lovely way to spend more time visiting and going to a few more locations. The island has sooo much to offer for visitors!
done deal then old friend
The idea is hatched.
hello friends! I hope I can jump into this visit too!
hi Bugs! Of course! The travelling Babble Bus!
What a great idea. .. a Babble bus
I want to be on the Babble Bus too but I live too far away.
you never know how far the Babble Bus can go peri….
:)
I think it would be so much fun to have a Babble bus travel around the continent picking up and dropping off Babblers. The part is on board.
I love the idea
It would be so much fun to see the country with friends. I am onboard if ever this fantasy comes to pass
same here!
all we need now is the bus :)
or a trailer
what do they call trailers nowadays: motorhomes I think
and a million bucks to afford the gas!
we could all lchip in for the gas
who would drive? Might have to be a non-Babbler so they don't get distracted
that is funny Bugs!
Hi just back from talking to Stidmama. She doesn't know about our Babble Bus idea yet but I think she will be on board.
I need to get a bigger, newer vehicle Maybe a bus (one of those with great paint jobs and bathrooms) is what I need. Of course I will need to sell the house, car, husband, dog, children and so.
that is the main drawback with this plan gmere. Must be a virtual bus I guess.
Right now, but bugs, you know how we think about things and they can come true.
indeed stidgmere, you never know
too true
I am having trouble with the S words, 10 left
