Hi flosey - how are you doing?

is that the weirdest word you've ever seen Dianne?

Good, thanks. Going to a friend's house tonight for Thanksgiving dinner.

a2z wordfinder
How many no 8's are there?
two have been mentioned
Thanks. Got one but can't see the second one.
i have both if you want a clue
yes, please. I have the one about not sticking.
the psychopath may be no8
is the pi9 related to the pi6?
flosey - think about a capsule/tablet and what you put in shrimp scampi for the yummy scent & flavor.
I can't find my last 7
Got it joseph - thanks.
ahhh! thanks Dianne, found it
at long last, and now I know what vampires hate
great, now can you say what the pi6 is
sounds like a bird - misspelled
oh thanks
Flosey, I can't see what vampires hate....actually, I have the first 3 of prescription.
a lady I once knew trapped and killed them because they were a pest
there's a lot of it in pesto
peach, a very strong flavoured veg
the thing vampires hate
they are rats with wings flosey :D

Thanks much, flosey and josephjames.

congrats ruru.
wow.. is there going to be lots of complaining tomorrow. :D
why, ru?

hello sprite
hi there sprite
wow thanks
Hi all
sorry about the clue timing sprite
hi Liz
*hugs flosey and ru* How are you guys?
Hugs sprite - how's Tim?
I'm fine.. looking forward to being with the family I do see
thanks ru, for the in6
Happy thanksgiving to my US friends.
thanks liz
:)
Tim is doing great! No need for the operation, or so the surgeon judged. Too small a dent. Stitches out, and things are looking a lot better. The eye is good. The mouth isn't, but they don't want to operate on the scar tissue yet. they first let the body do its healing thing. Maybe in 3 or 6 months.
whoa .. what happened sprite.. is this your son?
Happy no need for an op.
ru, those are worth a million of the kind you don't see. I wish you a terrific Thanksgiving.
very happy, Liz :)
:) is he feeling better?
And is he able to eat a bit now?
yes, my son was in an accident. Broken cheekbone, torn lip and eye, lots of bruises. But all has turned out much better than it first looked. He is healing up very well. Even the concussion doesn't bother him much anymore.
he is, Liz, on both counts. And now that he can eat again, his mood has improved too. Also almost no pain anymore.
That's really good news.
can't begin to tell you how grateful I am
a very sad day today for Australian Cricket....RIP young Phillip Hughes. xoxo
I'm sure. Big relief that things are healing well.
what a relief, Sprite, so good to hear
So sad, Diz. And that poor bowler must feel awful.
what happened diz?
Liz, I feel soooo sorry for Sean Abbott....hopefully everyone gets behind him
yeah when I realised, broken cheekbone at the front and tiny fracture in the skull at the back... it hit me how close a call this has been. But with the resilience of youth... he is up and about already :)
oh dear. What happened, dizgrannie?
I'm sure they will Diz - there's no blame there.
wow.. I'm sorry sprite
sounds like he's lucky to be alive
Flos, on Tues a young batsman got hit in the side of his head from a bowler, and he passed today -
he is, and I am deeply grateful for it.
twas a freky freaky accident
omg... that is awful. Am so sorry. How terrible for all. And yeah, that batsman must feel so rotten :(
I mean the bowler
Sprite, the batsman twas hit.
SNAP Sprite
wow, how horrible - I don't understand the game
yeah sorry. Sounds like a freak accident indeed.
Flos the batsmen all wear state of the art helmets, but this ball just found its way to a vulenerable spot.
the ball was going around 160 kilometres an hour
ah, horrible
sounds dangerous
what is the game, don't believe it's played here??
Cricket
Cricket.
ah, yes, have heard of it, but have never seen it
do they also wear a face guard?
Flos, google it - it can be an interesting game
I have seen it and didn't understand the first thing about it. But enough to know it isn't usually a sport that has many fatal injuries. A really dark moment for the sport.
Yes, flosey. The ball hit him behind the ear, under the helmet.
very true, Sprite
Damaged an artery I believe.
Damaged an artery I believe.
Sorry.
I just found some footage. Looks like he was twisted all around looking over his shoulder when he was hit. Totally freak accident.
BBL
bye dizgrannie, have a good evening

Chat not entering easily.
Clue for any 8 pls.
am learning to use my smartphone and tablet... man do I miss my keyboard and mouse!
I don't mind that. Just get frustrated when it glitches.
don't have any yet... and only one 9. Sorry.
Thanks. I'll persevere.
I'm missing one 9 - don't know which.
would be willing to bet there is at least one ca biggie.
One 9 is completely weird. I got it from an earlier clue. Would never have got it otherwise.
No8... lacking limits. ...sinful
If it is, that's my missing one!
oooo sins! I am all for sins.
Thanks, Ru. Looking.
I am in on certain sins
well... yeah. I stand corrected. Not all sins are delightful.
Found it. Thanks again.
found it too. Thanks ru.
I don't covet my neighbors wife and all that
Me neither!
mmmm I have this neighbour who is quite the eye candy... never mind seeing him in shorts.
Lol.
Yeah liz that would give "Down under" a whole new meaning :D
Lolol
thanks for the no8. it gave an am6 also. thanks ru
lol
Yqw cosmo
and hi cosmo
TY Ru. Though I did try non-li5.14 first. Hello all
Hi Lyn - long time no see. How are you?
hi lyn :) xxx Long time no see. I hope you and yours are well?
We are all very well. Can we say the same for you?
The other is another no word
yes we can. Had a bit of a scare with son being in an accident, but it all ended well. The rest of us are great.
Us, too - just need some rain.
No8 if you put static removal sheets in the drier your clothes are no8
...without hurricanes of course
thanks ru
Or cyclones.
Thanks Ru.
and it looks like I am mistaken about there being a ca biggie :( Can't find one so far.
you need a good dutch rain, Liz :)
Yup.
cyclones/hurricanes ! you can tell we don't have them down here - sorry
Ca8 begins with auto + the start if not happy + mr freuds friend
Thanks.
TY nice clue
narc
that'll learn me - sorry again
thanks lyn :)
* hides the drugs*
ru, I am stuck on not happy... must be having a very blonde moment. Unhappy... sad... ummm....
I have scads of clues regarding the ca8
think irate Sprite
Auto+ beginning of mad+ mr freuds friend
please may i have a clue for the pi9
Thanks - that helped.
found it, thanks, both of you. New one for me.
hello Jjenny :)
Hi Jenny
Pi8 what a doctor prescribes you + what people ward off vampires with
That was such a good clue.
My scads comment was a clue and a joke
looked up the meaning of the ca and laughed belatedly at your joke, ru :) Good one.
what a word
and it is good to know there are still fish in every grid.
Lol
I wasn't trying to jack you around :D
cora
ok, that pi9 is a brilliant word.
Almost lynn
still can't get the pi9
I know, i know - not moving my cursor again
Look at my clue again jj
got it thanks!!
---- cluing savant
the pi means a person you regard with contempt or pity. But it comes from a word for bald-headed guy... a peeled veggie :)
you rock, ru. But you already knew that.
I am compelled to clue cr 7/40 which no one asked for, just because I can't get it out of my head. As soon as I press Enter, I will duck and run, so there's no need to throw things at me. cr7/40: (compound word) the ultimate curse to wish on a woman
Geez. It is a tool for mountain climbing jw
lolllllll oh dear, jwr... *throws pillow curve ball*
I found the toilet paper
Toilet paper?
bu4/11
Oh..i thought that was short for being lost in nowhere 😂
Thanks, sprite
lol
I am calling it a day. Night all..but i have to clue another weird word
night ru, and please do
Sleep well ru
Have a good thanksgiving
Ca7/48: a place for tents + not ping
Lol. Thanks
not weird if you know a bit of malay, as most dutchies do.
it is a small settlement or village.
Night now
night night ru!
Night ru
capow is so a word. It is one of the comics' sound words.
Or a hat that's too tight.
lol!
I love your def. Am adding it to the dictionary.
Lol!
Taking a break now. Hugs, sprite
*hugs right back at ya* Have a grand evening, Liz.
You have a good day too.
will do :)
cooee and g'day from me
rose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *hugs* my darling. Am missing you so m uch!
got your email. Are you having raptures in the favorite place now?
{{hugs}} my darling sprite. missing you too. did tim have his surgery?
*giggle* several times....
the surgeon decided against it, rose :) The dent is not deep enough to make it worth the effort. Surgery could even make it worse, they said.
roflol. Ok, that came out wrong. And lol!
there are 3 mini golf areas here. we have been playing one/day. yesterday i managed to get sunburnt.
awesome, sweetie. I hope the burn wasn't too bad though. Do you have aftersun? Or cucumber?
okay. and how is the boyo now?
only cucumber here was in my salad at lunch time...lol. it's not too bad, just a tad warm.
he is amazingly well, rose. Once the stitches were removed, things got better very quickly. He can smile again, and eat.
aloe vera is good too, if you can find it there.
always a good sign when they start to eat again. is his nose cold and wet too?
they are very happy with how his eye turned out. Not so much with the mouth. But they want to wait with fixing it until it is healed up properly... 3 or 6 months from now, if it is still necessary by then.
haven't checked, rose, but he is wagging his tail :P
*giggle* and sprite, again we have seen some amazing things and sights. when we get home, i'll get the pics together and send them to you. oh, and we have been in the spa. the question is now settled. we are getting one for at home.
ohhhhh how delightful! I think I am moving in.
oh, and rose, new entries in the dictionary. Cr8 a new meaning, by jwr. And capow, a hat that is too tight, by Liz
so how have YOU been dear? i have beenthinking of you constantly, hoping you are coping okay, and getting enough down time.
it's been a bit hectic, rose, tbh. Felt down and totally out of energy for a couple of days. But today things are definitely looking up again. So all is well :)
okay, sweetie. i am glad things are starting to level out for you all. how has caya been? and rob?
caya and rob also needed some time to get over the shock. And caya has trouble adapting to the damp weather. But otherwise they are fine. And Terra is doing great as well.
so... how many more days, rose? Until you return?
just two more dear, then we are home, back in our own comfy bed. *sigh*
yeah... it is sad when a holiday is over, but being home has its perks :)
and thanx for telling that terra is doing well. it was to be my next question....lol
*giggles* I knew it. Went back to the vet yesterday, he got his yearly shots, and the vet was very happy with his recovery.
new pain doctor's rooms will be contacting me next week with my appointment.
awesome! Progress there.
brb, potty break
oh dear, fell asleep!! time for bed, good night all. 51 for tomorrow
beginning of third week of december i am having x-rays and ultrasounds of both hips. sometimes the left one burns even if i am sitting or lying down.
good night, dear flosey. sweet dreams, dear
night flosey... who has a keyboard imprinted on her cheek, lol
also added a new gn word to the dictionary, rose
hm, I hope all will be well, rose. Pain in the hips is nasty.
your sil is in the grid, btw
fireflies. Some real tough ones in the grid today.
lol...yeah i noticed. oh and we found a her christmas pressie down here. at the local opal store, a piece of red/pink/beige stone, highly polished, and made into a battery operated clock.
WTG SPRITE!!!!
is your day going to be active again, sprite? or can you take a slow, deep breath?
I had planned on a full day off, but Rob is gonna be late from work so I switched cooking days with him. Must shop and cook today, and walk terra. Tomorrow having that day off though :)
good for you sprite. pity you can't have the two off...
you are too nice to her, lol. I'd have given her a filling for her airbed.
whatever you end up doing, please be kind to yourself, hun.
I will, rose, I promise. For a moment I thought I was slipping back into depression. So I take it as a warning that too much stress will bring me down. I will rest and make sure I get my energy back :)
well done, sweetie. for recognising what is/was happening to you.
thanks rose :) I am learning, I really am. God I cannot tell you how good it is to see you again!
{{HUGS}} my dearest. it's great to see you again....lol...it's been only a few days, feels like a month or more.
so true. It is like you have been gone for weeks already. Get the heck back home, you! ;)
i'll be here about this time tomorrow. will you be also?
oh yes, certainly
good... oh, and sprite?? the bowls club?? the food is fantastic. and as i have now joined as a social member for the princely sum of $5, we both get discounted meals and drinks there. that's $5 / year. we saved that tonight. tomorrow we will save much more.
oh wow that is a lovely deal.
what are your plans for tomorrow?
isn't it just? tonight i had char-grilled chicken breast with creamy pesto sauce and vegs to die for. don had the char-grilled greek lamb with garlic yoghurt, and vegs. i wanted to lick the plate but don wouldn't let me...;-(
before babble, I mean? :)
I want to lick both your plates!
tell Don he is a spoilsport :(
into the spa again in the morning, a short walk along the river beach, lunch, then a nana nap, before going out for another game of mini golf. then afternoon tea, back to our room for a rest, then dinner at 7pm.
the fresh air is just glorious. and the sunshine lovely. i must remember to wear a blouse which covers my neck though.
it sounds brilliant, rose. Exercise and fresh air, and plenty of rest. Just what you need.
we aren't going out til about 9:30am....having lots of sleep time.
the perfect kind of holiday :) Are you celebrating thanksgiving?
good morning! When I came downstairs this morning, Burt was lying on the floor in the living room with a story that he had fallen in the street looking for the dogs.
don loves playing mini golf. but after the last two games i think his enthusiasm may have waned a tad. i beat him well and truly both games....lol
I couldn't lift him but, fortunately, Luisa arrived soon after and helped me get him into a chair.
oh dear :( Was he hurt?
This is getting very scary
we don't have thanks-giving much here, love.
good gal rose! You go on and keep beating him, grin.
He seems unhurt, at least nothing broken or bleeding but he's walking very funny.
I so wish you could have him admitted to a nursing home, ruby. This is getting way too much for one woman to handle, no matter how spunky she is.
oh, ruby....it sounds like a stroke ruby. is one side of his face sort of not moving.
Since he can't hear or understand French, he couldn't manage in a nursing home. I think it was another TIA
I have to be off, alas. *hugs* to you both. All the best for you and Burt, ruby. And rose, see you tomorrow :)
bye Sprite. I hope Tim is better; I'm sorry I haven't been around for you at all
{{hugs}} and kisses sprite.
FOUR nine words? Argh (not started yet ...)
hellomatty
hi again, can't sleep, matty, do you want the values of the 9s?
husband is walking around in circles. He won't let me call the doctor and denies that he's not walking upright
ca5 Is in here 2 days in a row, I guess in honor of my not being able to get a big Tnaksgiving turkey
good morning.
good morning everyone:)
He has a back problem, ruby?
Hi crossy
Listening to some music. Heard of Madeleine Peyroux? Great way to wake up.
read back. he reminds of of my da with his story about the dog. Confabulation problems
read back. he reminds of of my da with his story about the dog. Confabulation problems
No, have not heard of her:(
brilliant singer, love her
hello
howdy, kallia
She is American but is a French singer, she does a great version of Dance me to the End of Time.
She sound a little like Billie Holiday.
Hi Kallia
Jazzy, that is a grat version of that song
Lol, End of Love, but you knew what I meant :)
yes I knew what you meant :)
finding grid a bit hard today, only got 103
I have 63 so far
no 8s or 9s
Me neither
got to go now, maybe back later, bye Sukee and crossy
see you, going to go make some breakfast myself.
Why do web site designers make it so that a video and dozens of animated gif's INSTANTLY start up the SECOND you go to their site? Do they not know the result of this is that it bogs down or freezes up older computers?? Let the visitor choose whether to start the video up and keep the animated gif's and flashing banner/pop-up ads down to a dull roar!... ok rant over:)
Last two - no 8/45; ou 9/96 clues please
and now it is time for Crossy's tidbit of the other day! This goes under the category of thank God I do not live there!.. In Siberia the other day it was minus 50 celcius and there was a domestic flight due to take off at a small airport , but there was one problem; the grease had frozen in the landing gear, and the wheels would not turn! So, they did the only sensible thing, they got two dozen passangers, got them outside, 12 to a wing and had them push the airplane to get it unstuck. They managed to take off and the trip went without further issues.
ou9...not in + the bride and groom stand fa6 each other at the altar
Thanks now searching for no 8/45
Happy turkey day to my American friends:)
no8...isn't prefix + a word that means ethical or principled
ty, Molly for the no8, now have nbt and nbs.
and good morning, everyone, happy thanksgiving to the US babblers
howdy, lbd
Happy Thanksgiving to you LBD
hi, crossy.
Molly, did you see ca5, two days in a row. For moi, I guess
and ty for the ou7
I am sorry you cannot get a turkey, ruby:(( here, there are so many frozen turkeys, we just wait till they come on sale afterwards and buy two or 3 and make freezer meals with them.
We used to go to Geneva and buy US turkeys for more than $100. The same kind that are given away, free, if you spend $100 on groceries in US markets. Now I just make a ca5
$100.00???!!
I would make ca5 as well!
actually, more like $125. And I used to make the big feast for French friends who never appreciated what it was about. Thursday lunch? With a prayer? Huh?
or give everyone a stuffed Cornish hen:))
sorry I'm so hit and miss on the chog - I'm at work so can only peek in once in a while
Burt fell this AM, in the street before light, and, although he's OK, the idea that he was that confused is horrible
The local french populace does not come across as being very warm and fuzzy, cold, aloof and snooty seem to fit better:(
I think he somehow let the dogs out but, when he felo, they came back and stayed with him.
My father suffers from confabulation. His is due to Korsakoff's Syndrome. it is hard on famlies:(
and some stranger helped him back to the house
I will goggle Korsakoff's syndraome
when I got up at 8 he was lying on the floor in the living room and I couldn't even pick him up
You need help, ruby. In-home nursing at the very least:(
You cannot do it all on your own
His daughter is coming next week and she will help me figure things out
That is well.
I have a housekeeper who comes 4 mornings for 4 hrs and then comes inbetween to make a fire. She helped me get him up and thenwalked the dogs with me
That is good. Do not want to think of you all alone in this.
I couldn't even take care of this house alone. And now with B's decline, it would be impossible
do they have V.O.N there?
what is that? We're not part of the healthcare system
It is a in-home nursing group
And your family Dr may have some ideas.
He doesn'tquite need that, yet. And I could certainly get a nurse if I pay for one, but the question would remain "How many hours.day" etc.
But I certainly would not do "personal care" myself. NW! whatever that means
I'm no martyr, merely prasgmatic
With a modicum (or more) of selfishness thrown into the mix!
can anyone help with the pi/9 please?
Sorry to hear Burt fell ruby
hello Bichon
and ty
howdy,bichon
We are going to the movies today to see "Interstellar". Tomorrow we have turkey. Daughter working today
hi crossy
hi ruby, hi bichon
hi droman
hi dawg
hello ibd
pi9 ends with what you make a necklace out of to chase vampires away
hi...found it......if anyone needs it, the pi/9 is a porker plus what one wears to ward off vampires
ty you molly/ found it just before you posted
new word for me:)
I don'tknow what you make the necklact of; no wonder the vampires keep following me around
something you mince up to put on pizza
comes in cloves
aah
got the ending but porker???
I buy it in three styles, we use it so much around here; in paste, dehydrated in chunks, and in fine powder form
oh, and whole cloves in olive oil. lasts forever that way
love the smell of cooking garlic
at different times of year, we have different types of gfresh ga****. In Spring, it is wet and gren and purple - wmild and wonderful. But the stuff I bought in the US was never this good
everything tastes better in France
half and I'm going to lie down. Maybe if I put some ga**** around my neck, my husband will stay away.....
no, just the vegetables lol
probably the fruit too
yes, when it's local. Unfortunately, now they bring it from Sou America
It used to me that you got asparagus only in May peaches in June, etc. No, vegetasbbles and fruit can come from all over.
Yes, we get so many imports of produce from SA
Now*
I love the minced ga6 in olive oil in jars. You get almost 50 cloves jammed in there for under 5 dollars and it is great for stir-fry's, just plop a tablespoon full in the wok and away you go;)
but SA to US is not quit as bad as far as cost of shipping and carbon footprint.
The only thing I buy from so far away is blueberries for husband's eyes
his eyes??
blueberries, we get local because the New England soid is so acid
*soil
yes, blueberries evidently have some special substance for eyes (learned from his fancy ophthalmologist). And Burt has multiple eye problems
mm, I did not know that they had qualities to aid with vision:)
Learn something new every day:))
There's a medication for eyes called Myrtaven (myrt = blueberries) but it's not available in France, hence, blueberries every day
what exactly does it help with?
I think glaucoma, mostly. He used drops, too
He has had cataracts anterior cataracts, a detached retina, non-functional tear ducts and, now, glaucoma. It is amazing that he can see at all!
Ruby, the first part of the pi9 is you swallow these little caplets of medicine called pi**s, take out one of those *
ty ty ibd
blueberries are great for antioxidents. i eat a quarter cup of t hem every morning.
like him
tadone! not a super friendly grid but doable.

A hillbilly way of saying do it once more
ty Molly
I know there are two no8 but I do not see either one
just found no8/55
finally nbt and nbs
Can anyone give me a steer on the br 5 and 6? And/or the ar5?
ar5/12 pleasant smell
I feel very, very stupid
don't it happens to me all the time
I don't have the br words
Words that begin and/or end in vowels often flummox me
br6 is a wild horse and it ends in a vowel
drop for the br5
Thank you to my colleague sitting next to me for getting that one!
Thank you!
hint for the no 8, pls
Thanks Peri because no one in the UK was going to get my Denver clue
:)
no8...isn't prefix + word that means principled
I would - I'm American but have lived in the UK for 26 years. Happy turkey day, by the way! Sadly, I'm at work
I think it's amazing that people can play Babble at work. But a group Babble work team? Wow.
I'm kinda at lunch before a 2pm meeting
Happy Turkey Day
ty Molly
I don't see that no8 Molly
The principled word is mo5
ty Molly and I already had that mo5
i have the wrong mo5 i think
I was hoping that everyone here would go out of town for Thanksgiving but that did not happen. I will make the best of it. I did buy gin!
drink all of that now peri lol
I will pace myself.
oh you are no fun peri lol
but I do want to strangle at least one person who shall remain nameless
how many people will you have there peri?
2 adults and maybe one child
well thats not too bad
you would not say that if you lived with them
2nd column A?
peri i am stuck here with my hubby lol
ag4/6

ty dawg
Happy Thanksgiving everyone, I'm off to start chopping and mixing for this evening's repast.
dawg i am completely lost on that clue
Hi Scrabs, fan, Annie
hi bichon
Hi bichon
ca8 - auto + indefinite article + anagram of shovel the ground
Howdy. I actually have had laryngitis since Monday night so I barely have a voice.
ty dan
We are going to the movies to see "interstellar"
your voice is fine here scrabbler. but probably a pain on holiday visiting
hi dan, mixi
I'll spend the day with my mom and she does all of the talking anyway. All I do i nod my head and say hmm
Daughter working, they're coming tomorrow
lol scrab sounds like a wonderful visit
So you have a day for yourself and hubby, Bichon.
Yup, followed by seeing granddaughter tomorrow
Hello everyone! Happy Thanksgiving...I am thankful for Babble and the friends this little game has brought me. {{group}}
I volunteered to work tomorrow because almost everyone else wanted to be off.
Hi Car
That was nice of you SScrabs. Daughter in health field too
hi car.
hi car
People either want to shop or be with their kids.
hi car
I am definitely not going to a store tomorrow
can anyone help with any of the 8's sorry i am just not getting any of them please?
Some co-workers have been plotting their shopping ventures all week. They are heading out overnite
I have a 9 but no 8's yet.
ca + past tense of what a doorbell does + Freud's tiniest part of psyche
ty Scrabs...very strange word.
Tomorrow is the best day ever to be in a grocery store. No one is there.
dawger gave similar clue earlier but I clarified middle portion
I have to go to the pet store tomorrow, but will wait until the evening to go.
Now the pet store is different since I assume people Christmas shop for their pets???
finally got it
ty scrab

He/she is such a joy! So happy! Giving him/herself a bath right now in the water dish! Its been wonderful for all of us! I took a video last night of my mum singing to the bird...so sweet.

car what does it begin with car?
Bless you!
NO 8/55
omg rotfl
i thought one if not both of those big no words started with those 3 letters:)
2 out of 3
poor hubby...trying to mash potatoes for the masses
car what are the stats for the word it should go with?
what is he using to mash them with?
How many pounds of potatoes?
7
using old time egg beaters
the hand mixer
he needs more hands
the beaters just fell to the floor...the dogs are happy
ughh
Haha
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
Happy Thanksgiving phan
I am wondering how long it will take to heat up 30 servings of frozen corn.
And thus starts the traditional holiday debate...mashed potatoes or whipped potatoes...
A few days, phandmd
hmm phan that should be interesting
I vote for both Molly
haha, that's not good, I need it done by 11:45. Our neighborhood bands together to make a Thanksgiving Feast for our volunteer firefighters.
I guess technically these would be whipped?
Phan, you are having 30 people for dinner?
I like smashed!
Oh Phan! That is awesome!
phan that is so great!
Ah, question answered and how nice of your neighborhood
we have been doing it for at least 5 years now.
probably more
It doesn't take very long to cook frozen corn.
That is wonderful....start cooking them now...you can always reheat just before you go.
they are on now, have been for about 20 mins, pot is still cold!
maybe turn up the heat?
I have it on medium, maybe I should turn the heat up?
Generally you add frozen corn to boiling water
thats what i thought
I never do it that way...
You are talking about corn and not corn on the cob, right?
bu 4 it up a little
It never fails that I get goose bumps watching The Rockettes
:)
i have heard that is a tough job
this grid has a dangerous animal lurking in it, be careful!
what are the stats for that word phan?
First time I can remember watching the parade from the start..what a treat. Happy thanksgiving, everyone!
I tried the netti pot this morning as I am completely blocked up again. Didn't help and it made my ears hurt. Not getting the attraction.
Happy Thanksgiving aloy
It's a P 4
i am stalled with 93 left
It may pounce!
Happy Thanksgiving Aloy
morning all, could someone clue me the Pi 9 please
Hmmmm...that's the one I don't have...looking
Most of what you swallow plus a vampire repellent
ty...didn't know that word at all
Me either
3rd time I have rebooted Babble. Anyone else having problems?
off for now, may check back later.
Happy Thanksgiving, Scrabbler
Yes, but blamed it on my internet server
pi 9 please someone
phandmd--great gesture for your firefighters!
Happy Thanksgiving to all you American Babblers!
Hi cat
TY
Button, it was clued....still need help?

Hi Cousin Earth. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your dad!
hi all. i need all the 9s still so all clues welcome.
I have no 9's yet
Car. i still need help please with the Pi 9. please, did not understand the previous clue
pi + Consonant+ what wards off a vampire
ro9,78. when tow people fall in love there is ro9.
ou 9 is a compund word beginning with the opposite of in. Ends with gerund
doesnt a cross ward off vampires? dont see S in grid.
it's a vegetable that you mince ond put on pizza
Comes in cloves, you make bread to go with spaghetti from it
drooling
*Puts bib on Bich*
Good morning and Happy Thanksving, kids!
any hints for the in 7?
I passed halfway, so that is enough for now. Off to see Mama and bro. Enjoy the day everyone.
*Fixes Judi a Sea Breeze*
happy thanksgiving to all who celebrate..quiet holidays for us as mother was put in nursing home, alzheimer unit..but we are coping.
Aw Ivesy, I'm sorry. Blessings to your Mom and your family.
hi ivesy, sorry to hear about your Mom
Tough times, ivesy3. Prayers and hugs.
that's the best place for her. ivesy. cope well.
Ooo, look at the Planter's guy in the Peanut-mobile. I want one.
ty for clues. i got ro 9 and ou 9. dont get that clue for the pi at this point. so help would be appreciated.
pilgarlic
*face palm* Very helpful, Molls!
oops molly! i got it now. ty.
I find those clues to be the best when people just aren't getting the obvious ones.
puts choclit pie I made last night in PB for molly.
got any in's to drop molly? :)
There are two ou9s.
Plus I get chocolate pie : D
got all the 9's.
ty all.. she started wandering ..going outside, so yes it is best place for her..and sometimes she doesnt know what is going on.. we are doing ok, knowing she is safe.
Ivesy, I walked this path with my Dad and it's tough. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
ty molly..sorry you went thru it too..
Hubby's mom has been in nursing home for a few months now. Sound mind, but she kept falling. She is doing well in nursing home. Blood sugar regulated finally regulated after she had been neglecting to eat, etc.
It is a cruel disease.
ives, my mom had this too and once she settled into the home, she was actually quite happy. she loved her "room" and told me her bed was the best in the world. when i arrived she would say "dont i know you? arent you my family?" and then she would ask "are you my mother? my sister?" and then i would tell her i was her daughter and she would say "oh my, i didnt know i had such a beautiful daughter." i would hug her then. so to me she wasnt suffering. she was content. and so was i. i saw her every day at 5 pm. and stayed one hour. and we would sometimes just lie on her bed in a hug.
Happy Thanksgiving all.
at least she wasnt in pain. and so for me this was better than my relatives who died of horrible cancer. i felt her brain was the age of maybe a 3 or 4 year old. so it was not so terrible.
sorry to write so much.
my Dad always knew who I was, but after an adjustment period, seemed happy as long as he had a couple of quarters in his pocket for bus money.
Judi, your pal Hello Kitty just floated down the parade route
if they are happy and smile when you arrive, that is all i ask. and no pain. please no pain. pain is horrible.
Air head kitty! Don't watch the parade. Too busy sleeping, then drinking coffee & Babbling.
still cant find the last 9. any stats out there?
Cats terrorizing the house. The chase is on...
Ou9 x 2. Ro9. Pi9.
Sadly (due to being the mother of 3) I can do several things at once.
Ou9/96 and Ou9/84.
oh the second ou is what i am missing. hmmm. looking now. is the first three letters the same?
Yes, mkg.
got it! yeah!!!!!!!!!!ty for super clues all.
ok i am off to join family.
Double thumbs up, mkg!!!
my son is cooking the turkey....lol..miracles do happen folks
Ivesy I am going through this with my husband. I miss him and he doesn't know me but he is so content. That makes it easier.
It's always nice to get the y-chromos in the kitchen
We are going out to a local resturant. No cooking or cleaning up!
yes it does freckle..she seems content most of the time...and actually is quite healthy phsically for 87 years old
my husband volunteered me to cook dinner at his mothers. I've never made thanksgiving dinner. This is the first thanksgiving with him since we got married 14 years ago.
LOL! No pressure, mixi!
used to go to local cafeteria with his mom.
im not much of a cook...everything is pre done..potatoes..(whipped) .frozen veggies.and frozen desert.
The cook gets to call the shots. Miracles have been made with far less.
The first Thanskgiving after my mother passed away, my father decided he would be cooking turkey loaf. I was mortified. Of course, I was 13 then, so everything mortified me.
turkeys tend not to do much anyway judi
OH.. "cooking" turkey loaf
Ha. Ha. I'm still mortified by turkey loaf. It looked like a football.
probably tasted like one too
<---this y chrome.. knows his way around a kitchen
I remember it being very salty and rubbery. Blech.
ugh
salt for sure in those things
I have to peel a bunch of carrots is all
The only thing worse than turkey loaf is that veggie loaf
I am making one dish
Never had the veggie loaf. Plan to keep it that way.
double ugh
Ru, you are the exceptional y-chromo when it comes to the kitchen.
So a-peeling in a man.
it just isn't thanksgiving without some dead bird on the table
fit to a TT judi
I've seen some really lame turkey sculptures made out of vegetables.
Cry fowl and let the wings be torn asunder!
You folks are making me HUNGRY! I missed not having turkey for thanksgiving this year...enjoy!
is your family there yet molly
Hubby just left to pick up our food
i have ou 9/96 can someone clue the other 9 please?
pick up your food?
Same as the other 9, just a different 4th letter.
yes in our area a local restaurant has a meal you can buy. If you go into the restaurant its only a plate of food and thats it.. this way we have leftovers
ah ty judi
ah.. that's good mlf.. easy peasy
Off to get a little house cleaning done. *POOF*
Lots of places make the whole dinner, Thanksgiving in a box if you will.
yes and since its only two of us what is the point to cooking
or boxes Molly
I hear that
normally now it would just be me..
its good food too
UP5
has anyone seen pink lately?
I am a festive person at heart. I would cook, even if it was just me. As it is, our celebration got canceled so I am just cooking for two this year.
i am festive at heart as well but hubby and i dont do much for a lot of the holidays
KISS in the Macy's parade. You gotta love that. : D
oh god > I hope simmons doesn't lick the balloons
what happened Molly
My kids were supposed to have Thanksgiving at their house, but my daughter in law was hospitalized with a Crohn's flare up. So...Plan B
oh bummer.. that's really painful
wow.. that's a really bad problem to deal with
It seems to be the never ending story for them. I feel bad for my son, he was looking forward to playing host.
it's a really tough one to control.. I have a friend that has it.. and they are constantly in pain and have to be so very careful about everything.. i'm sorry
she.. not they
I need more coffee
Well, we do the best we can, as a family, to work around it. This year, apparently, Thanksgiving was not meant to be. We will make up for it at Christmas.
yeah..I hear that.. that's all you can do. Do they live far away from you?
No, half hour or so.
oh.. that's good
nothing like being in a hospital for the holidays
I did that one Thanksgiving with my oldest. Suspected appendicitis. Turned out it wasn't, but we spent Thanksgiving night in the hospital. Very gloomy place to be.
yeah.. been there done that with another relative once
no one wants to be there.. the doctors, the nurses, etc.. and especially the patients
It helps to have a sense of humor when stuff like that happens. : D
I've managed to never stay in a hospital ever in my life so far
*Blesses self, knocks on wood, goes outside turns around three times and spits*
you too?
Oh no, that was for you. Childbirth brought me to the hospital three times.
oh I wondered about that
Thought you had one of those do at home in the bathtub kind of things
:D
No, I did natural childbirth twice, but had the good sense to do that in a hospital in case anything went wrong.
smart
And after having an epidural the third time, I'm all for anything that reduces the discomfort of childbirth.
I can't even imagine how tough it is. It's a really incredible thing that women can do that
Makes you wonder how humanity has survived so long
No shit 2Bit. And why women have more than one child.
well.. if it were up to men dan.. it would certainly be another story.. the dinosaurs would still be around
hahaha ruru. Though I am a man, I've come to firmly believe in labor amnesia
Labor amnesia is the ONLY explanation for why women go through that more than once.
no kidding.. can you imagine what makes a woman like mrs. duggar tick?
Insanity
*family channel commentary*
wonder if their ratings will keep up with their kids screwing in church?
Strangely enough, there are RABID Duggar fans who surface every time someone comments on the weirdness of that family on a message board.
only in America.. really
well.. maybe Britain too
Never Canada
:D
I am here with my nephew and his wife. not my favorite people but I am making the best of it.
help with the ca8 pls
nm found it on morewords
happy thanksgiving to you too peri :D
I said Happy
I said Happy Thanksgiving when I first came on ruru
I better go make my side dish.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.. enjoy your day
same to you ruru
*Stocks up the PB with antacids for later
i''m hoping for a serving of sea chicken too :D
I thought you would hold out for the turkey loaf
good morning --- Happy Thanksgiving, USA
seems to me we established last night that there were 2 no 8's and a ca 8? Don't have any of them -- any clues out there, please?
Happy Thanksgiving to All Nationalities! I'm thankful for Babble and Babble peeps!
Peeps? I thought Peeps were Halloween. : D
The no8 words both start with "isn't" prefix. One is plastic wrap that doesn't work (Car's clue) and the other describes someone with no principles.
ty molly
ca8 is ca + past tense of what you do with a bell + Freud's first in the trio of personality types
found the principle one, trying to think of something other than saran
The word means doesn't stick
oh - I see - not a brand name, but the property
morning all!
ty for the ca -- a new one
and Happy Thanksgiving!
Hi Sue, Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
should have found the fish though :-(
mmm, thought I had the ca 7, but not a word
you would think that if we can have nana and nene, we should be able to have nini too :-)
Before I pack up, can anyone help with bo6/27
not seeing anything over a 5 - time for a break
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!!
french good + most of the substance that dissolves other things
(high ph)
Thanks Nan - I don't think I'd have found that in a hurry
got it with a2 z -- lots of words I'm not finding today
Happy Thanksgiving Mimi
Thanks, Molly! Hope you have lots to be thankful for.
Lots to be thankful for indeed
Excellent! :))
pi 9 please? -- have the broken english
I'm currently waiting for a total stranger to arrive at my place to exchange mixed up UPS packages....his item from Nat'l Geo was MUCH more expensive than mine. I tracked him down by name and address and, luckily, he lives about 45 min. away so we arranged to do the exchange today.
pi + consonant + odiferous herb used to ward off colds.
Sounds like the beginning of a star crossed romance Mimi : D
ROFL, Molly!
ty mixi
break time
Not at all interested, Molly, especially since I'm having a bout of neuritis in my head...feels like I'm being stabbed in the same spot every couple of minutes. This happens about twice a year...no one knows why..even had CT. Nothing alleviates it but vodka helps me not care. It will last a couple of days and then just go away.
yuck, glad it goes away.
It's very distracting, to say the least, mixi. Can't really do too much when this happens. It's awful but apparently not dangerous...just a couple of nerves that misfire until they get "tired."
Does anyone else really HATE this grid?!!
stuck at 5 left. been back several times today with this irriationg grid.
So limited without e's and s's.
You're a better woman than I am, mixi. I'm giving up already! Not in the mood to get more frustrated.
Happy feasting, everyone! Hugs all around.
in7?
Molly...he just picked up the item...no romance..but a very nice gentleman from Canada. He's apparently one of our "snowbirds." Time for more liquid pain relief....
IN 7 I use my car blinkers to in****te left or right + letter.
Yeah, a lot of people who live in Canada can't handle the winters there.
ty zz
Welcome.
Hi Zoom. I'm thankful for good souls like you on Thanksgiving. : )
Always a pleasure to see you, Molly :-)
Hope you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving, Molly!
happy day to everyone
To you too, Sammysmom :-)

hiya molly, any stats for an 8, pls
pa 7 is hiding and laughing at mer
ruby.. all the no start with the same three letters
pa7 sounds like Wendy's (from Peter Pan) last name
hi all - back to take another stab at this
without virtuer
virtue
Look out, Nan has a knife!!
without the ability of a plastic wrap
two for one, ty
pa7 sounds like a sweetie pie term that ends in a gerund?
yes - and planning to use it on this grid -- hate these ones with all the botany, biology and other odd and foreign words I've never heard of and am never likely to use!
thanks molly.............
in 6, please?
i never thought that reading the karma sutra would be of value iin a word game, but then a lot of the crap i read as a youngster has come n handy at one time or another
in + what you do to make a hole + consonant
ty molly
*!* ta da *!* - thanks for the help :-)
SMom, you never know when The Kama Sutra is going to come in handy
should I mention that sooner is usually better than later? ;-)
anyone want clues before I leave?
guess not - hagd everyone
right molly ... or vapo-rub
Happy Thanksgiving All! :-) i hope all my dear US friends are satiated, warm & in the bosom of family & friends. Slainte ðŸ»
We frown in people getting into each others bosoms in my clan.
Lol Molls. How's DIL?
They finally let her go about a half hour ago. Last I heard, they were on their way home.
That's a relief. The poor girl... i feel for her. Meanwhile, back at the ranch... Has the Tullamore Dew been cracked open yet?
Tullamore Dew is always at the ready here.
:-). And for that we are thankful.
God bless the distillers, every one.
My head has been basically completely blocked all day long. Afrin didn't even touch it! UGH!
Thank you for the Thanksgiving snot update, Phan : D
it's absolutely miserable, Molly.
stuck on bo 6/30
If it is the one I have, (Haven't used the list yet) it has a gerung ending.
bo6 first three of movie spy James + first three of hydrocloric...
Oh thank God! Gerund has not been said enough today.
whatever
It's a joke Phan : )
Thank you both and yes they are different bo6's
i am so confused... still cant get the bo 6/30
Ah yes, SMom was looking for taking the femurs out of chickens
Happy Thanksgiving by the way:D
:)
Gerund form of what you give a dog
damnnnnnnnnnnnnn thanks molluy
of course that clue is way more clever than mine; well done!
not feeling creative with all this pressure in my head.
Hi, Lilli
Are you not feeling well Phan? Migraine?
can't breath. Afrin didn't even fix it.
Phan is the pressure from a headache or your sinuses?
((jaxx)) Hi Hin :) how are you and how is your wrist/hand now?
Try steaming
Sinus problems...that's not nice.I don't know what Afrin is.
Actually, I was going to do that, but that entails going upstairs...
Afrin is a nasal spray that opens up your nasal passages like magic
at least it usually does...
Steaming probably is best. Why upstairs? Use a kettle, bowl and tea towel
Neti pot...
I tried that this morning, didn't help, and made my ears hurt. Not sure what the fuss is about.
Ah ok.
Hi Sukee. Neti pot?
So a neti pot is a sinus flushing system.
I find they work for sinus problems. You mix a solution of salt water and pour it in your nostrils and let it pour out the other side.
one nostril at a time
basically you pour water through your sinuses to clear them out. (it's not just water that's just the basic.
Ah ok.I've never heard of them.Do we get them here Jax?
Get a towel or an umbrella and get your kettle steaming and either put the hot water in a bowl with or without vapour rub or allow steam to collect under the open umbrella. And breathe the steam in gently. Pop a towel over your head when using a bowl. Another alternative is Friar's Balsam in the hot water in the bowl (not the kettle obviously). I see you have tried that this morning but try with vapour rub or Friar's balsam. It works for croup, should work for you.
We call a netti(i don't know if spelling is right) a toilet up North...it was an outdoor loo
LOL
Jaxx, I am going to try that soon.
That's funny Lilli
Thanks for the query about the hand, Lilli. have to go now but I will tell you my other news whan next I see you on Babble.
That's kind of like how American
Ugh
I must admit, i do like my Vicks vapour rub Jax, with steam or rubbed near nostrils or on chest when i go to bed
That is like how American's call nursing breastfeeding but Austrailians call nursing holding a baby.
Oh, ok.Lovely to see you jaxx, shame it's not more often and tc hin
bye, Lilli
I'm not going Phan. It's Jaxx, who was leaving :)
oh, sorry. Bye, Jaxx
missed that.
I'm still struggling on with 61 left to find.
I am struggling with 91!
So are you having to cook for Thanksgiving aswell as feeling yuck Phan?
Aye, it's not a nice grid.
No. Husband does all the cooking, and we had it yesterday as my daughter had to work today.
no E nor S makes for a difficult grid indeed.
hello everyone and Happy Thanksgiving
We say nursing for holding a baby aswell, but i have heard midwives' say nursing as in breast feeding.
HTG, Annie
Interesting, Lilli.
Thanks phand, hope you start feeling better soon
Hi and Happy Thanksgiving Annie.
hi lilliann, nice to see you, dont see you very often
thanks. As soon as I get 1/2 way, I am going to try a steam with vicks.
or just often
only need 2-3 words
phand, spoken like a true babble addict
it's a heavy cross to bear.
I feel your pain.
this grid is a toughie.
Easier than the bowl thing...the shower tablets that have eucalyptus in them.
I love the smell of Vicks Phan, i hope it works for you and you can breathe alot better. It's horrible when you can't breathe through your nose or smell.
Molly, How is your daughter in law?
The bowl thing is easy, just pour hot water from kettle and put towel ovre your head whilst listening to radio or tv...nowt easier :)
I love that smell too, Lilli
ok, can I have a U clue?
once up** a time
Hi folks
wow! did not see that for the life of me. Thank you so much.
Hi bichon
Hello...stats for T word pls

Ty...my chog was frozen
I use a nasal squeeze bottle
Molly, a step in the right direction...watched the Lions beat the Bears
That is great Molly, i hope she is feeling better.
So have you all had your Thanksgiving meals yet?
That game was pretty much of a wash out Annie. Dallas/Philadelphia should be much better.
And San Francisco/Seattle tonight. Go Niners!
Stats for the U? pls
We eat at 3 on TG and watch football. I am not a fan but I watch football on TG day and the Super Bowl. I
We went to the movies

(Happy thanksgiving all)
ty

Sounds good Bichon. What did you see?

Sorry Matty, i don't have it yet
"Interstellar" Way too long and loud
Gotya, thanks
thanks, Molly
bichon, you just saved me money
That is why I avoid movie theaters. The movies are all too loud.
up 5/26?, pls
This has Matt McConaghey in it, so for me it was worthwhile
up + what goes with an arrow
nm
ty Molly
thanks, molly
I like Matt Conaghey, but it's not my type of film
Ty Molly :)
Matthew McConaughey looks weird to me these days. I used to think he was good looking.
I wouldn't call him good looking, at least not in the roles he plays
He worked for me in "A Time To Kill". Lately, he looks emaciated.
matthew mcconaughy lost 40 lbs for the Dallas Buyers Club and I dont think he gained it back
I think he lost tons of weight for a film
That is what I thought Annie.
,
Soodle!
Oops. Hey Annie. Happy Thanksgiving to you & Bobby ((()))
He's never been good looking but there is something about him which makes him attractive.I liked him .I liked him with Kate Hudson(that is Goldie Hawn's daughter)? theyn were in a Fool's Gold.
Thanks.
I loved Matthew McConnaghy in the Pelican Brief.
It must be hard to lose that much weight when he wasn't exactly big to start with and then have to put it back on.I would think he would have to put it on slowly.
Hi Soodle :)
Im going to have dessert now. Pumpkin pie is waiting. See you later.
and whipped cream
Bye Annie.Enjoy your pie.
*Makes Soodle a turkey sandwich with stuffing and cranberry*
Talk about favouritism!
And he was in Runaway Jury. Done lots of Grisham books
Help with 2nd row A?
a rainbow is an ar* + a vowel
He was in Majic Mike aswell, which i quite enjoyed :) He's been in loads of films. He's a good actor
*magic
Did you see the TV show "True Detective?" He was outstanding
ty bichon...that comes from the corner A...found an4/4
nbt/nbs
a and mo5/12
there's also an ag4/6
No Bichon, i didn't.i don't know if we have that here yet.
Oh wow! I can almost Molly's sandwich. I'm drooling.
ty
It was on cable, not networdk. I think it should have won an Emmy
Time for me to bow out. US Babblers, enjoy Your Thanksgiving Day! Mwah mwah.
I'll keep an eye out for it Bichon and hopefully we'll get to see it.
Night Soodle, Sweet dreams and tc hin.x
well one side of my nose is open now. Other side still completely block. At least it is easier to breathe!
Well, atleast it's better than before Phan.Just keep putting vicks under the blocked nostril and hopefully that will help
Bbiam, i need to go and take holiday clothes of the bed before hubby thros them all on the floor.

L can go to the PB for the abra cadabra word
li 6/27?
li6/27 - indian word for penis
great, rolling off the tip of my toungue
*Waits to see if Bich gets it from that clue
If you think I'm googling that
L + gerund + in credit card land, what comes before "Ex"
ty Molly
It rhymes with that checked/plaid fabric, but I never know who knows fabrics here
I think Dorothy's dress in The Wizard Of Oz was made of it
Am, back, thanks for the penis Cosmo, not something i'll probably remember and thanks Molly and i'm joining the pb party for Thanksgiving for a word i gave away and never had in the first place.
*sorry, i meant to write 'male appendage).
That is okay L. It's always nice to say "thanks for the penis" to a man. : P
haha :)
L is polite to a fault.
Well, i did choke on my drink when i saw Bichon's reply, so mines quite tame.
I didn't mean it to sound quite that way
Lol, i know hin :D
It was kind of an historic Babble moment.
It certainly was :D
the first no 8, pls
no8, no and con and a hrrible filmy stuff that wraps food
Anti static..or anti sticking??
ty lili, zooz
That's a better clue Zoom and hi again.I hate that stuff!
Horrible?
*horrible
Why is it horrible?
no 7/36?
It is horrible and nasty because it's awful :)
I don't have that one yet, Bich, sorry
no7 isn't hydrocloric
Why is plastic wrap horrible, awful and nasty?
It's the worst thing to have ever been developed. You take it off the roll and and it just sticks to anything and not what you want it to.
Molly, was that a clue?
I get you lili
Same three, Bichon + opp of alkaline?
It gets full of static...it's nasty! I prefer aluminium roll
ty zooz
Sorry just saw, Molly's clue.Much better.
Ty Mooly and Zoom
yours was easier Zooz
*Molly
Zoom, no-one's clue is ever better.they are always different and some we get and some we don't depending on a lot of factors.I appreciate your clues.
Every clue is sacred.
And to be honest, i probably get more of yours because of the British words.
Yes Zoom, I wish you spoke English so I could get your clues. : D
I do try..lol
I meant the clues are more British, as i don't always understand the 'overseas' ones, especially when Presidents and some actors are used....
Sorry was trying to get onto the currys black Friday website for the sales at midnight. But there is a waiting time to connect to the website of over an hour!
Two great countries separated by a common language
You have Black Friday too?
I could say term that's used up here(as in up North) but i don't swear...as i'm a lady :D
Yes, we do Bichon
I need to go shopping to for short
We do But for some reason this year they are really going for it with tons of adverts for all these different firms..lol
We have people linging up before dawn fighting over a $20 crockpot
oops...for shorts for the bairn for Christmas.I did tell her to get them in the Summer, but no, she waits until the end of November to tell me that alot of hers don't fit her anymore! What joy, when Christmas is coming up, looking for shorts!!
Are you looking for something in particular Zoom?
It's like that here Bichon, when there is a Next sale on and that's anytime in the year
Was hoping to get a £ 370 Sonos wireless speaker system for about £ 100 but am not waiting that long just to connect to the website.
ro 9, pls
Have you tried Ebay or Amazon?
bichon, what swains do, gerund ending
nm
The problem is Zoom, at this time of the year everyone is going to be on the web or in shops looking for a bargain.I hope you get one
Wjat lovers are Bichon.
Gerund.
Hello, Annie :-)
Nah not waiting that long, Lilliann..lol
Hello zooz, I hope you get your speaker system
ty all
I hope you enjoyed you pie Annie.
I love pumpkin pie. Many people dont like it but it is one of my favorites.
Are you still here, Lilli? I am back
I must admit, pumpkin isn't my favourite thing but i do like butternut squah
Sorry I had to rush off last time
I'm always here jaxx.I'm like a bad penny...:)No problem hin.
Are you ok Jaxx?
No, I would say a good luck coin.
Me? no that's what i'd call myself .I can think of other things though...
My hand is slowly getting better but it still itches something chronic and then I get nettle rash on the burn site.
*not what i'd call myself
We have a SS meeting tomorrow. Jess has been removed from protection list but Ashley is still on it because his stupid father won't attend the meetings.
Your skin will take months to heal as you had a really bad burn and as the good skin comes through it will itch. That may be to do with the cold of going out and then the heat of being inside?I don't think it's a major problem but if you're worried, contact your doctor or nurse at your surgery
I have had enough of my doc's surgery to be honest. I had a well woman clinic and the blood tests showed up all sorts of things and I have to go back on Dec 5th for another set. the main one is an excess of calcium. I looked it up on the net, got as far as parathyroid cancer and decided not to look any further.
Well, it's good that atleast one has been.that is something to celebrate. Is there not something that can be done about his father not attending?
He says there is no need because his older son isn't on the list as he's OK. However this angel has not gone back to school this school year and has started smoking cannabis, so it is only a matter of time before he is on there
Jaxx, you sound like my daughter.I had 3 weeks to live as i had ebola according to her as i had a bad cold and a few symptoms.Sod the net, as so many things have the same prognosis...just wait and see what the test results say and then go from there. There's no point in worrying until you know.Life is too short to worry about 'what if'!
I stand here duly chastened, lillia
or perhaps that should be sit. lol
ca6/24 pls
:) I say it how it is....Life's too short, enjoy it whilst you can.
Hi, and sorry Peri,i don't have it yet
Hear hear lilliann!
My daughter turned up yesterday with a bailiff in tow - how about that for an experience?
Evening ladies :)
FW
Hi Peri and ((Chrissie))
Congrats peri
well done, Peri
Seems it is bye peri. Well done
Well, i hope his life turns around and he thinks about the things he's doing as in missing school and drugs...the more anyone pushes, the more he'll do it, sadly
Hi Chrissie
WTG Peri:)
How are things with you, Chrissie?
Omg Jax...Why would she bring a bailiff yo yours?
he had threatened her with arrest over unpaid council tax and she has no money. Ran for mummy
Chrissie, have you kept in touch with your family since they went away and seen your cute grand bairn on skype?
OK here thanks jaxx. Sorry to hear you're still having lots of crap to deal with
I start to think life is going my way and someone upstairs decides otherwise.
Yes, we had a face time last night. She's getting cuter by the day ðŸ˜
Little girls are the best
So what happened? She's have to have alot of months of unpaid tax before she gets arrested and she'd go to court and say that she hasn't got much money and would be happy to pay a fiver a month as that would be all she could pay
Silly me thought about the meeting tomorrow and bailed her out yet again. I know I am soft but I can't cope with any more dramas. My next door neighbour the previous day had smoked a legal high anf ended up allergic to it and collapsed. Cue police, ambulance and panicked people.
and even
Awww, that is great chrissie. That's what is great about computors/phones...you can skype, you may be missing out physically but atleast you can see her at the same time she smiles or laughs...that's better than photos we took years ago or even now...it's now time and something you will remember.
It is thousands , Lilli. then they add their fees. they worked out a 'hardship' payment of £85 a month. Now she has decided the new house will have to go. Can I dig myself a big hole and sit in it letting it all go over my head?
Thanks lilliann. You are right, it's so much easier today
Jaxx, look at my profile and i will put in my email in so we can chat.
OK, Lilli. I am beginning to think that killing my only child is the way to go.
look now hin.
But if she lets the house go where will they live
Only joking, but I wish she would grow up.
Chrissie, on the street?
jaxx, it is there but i want to get rid of it
The profile or the e-mail?
hang on i got rid of the email.look out as i don't like putting it out
It's there.
Have you got it?
Been watching "can't pay, we'll take it away". It's grim
I haven't seen that Chrissie as husband wanted to watch something else
Lilli, I have been having trouble with my e-mail but I have jotted it down and will try and sort the darn thing out tomorrow. Thanks
It has to be bad when people want to take your belongings away and the thing is my dad was a policeman and said that they can't come in to your house without a court order
Some you feel sorry for, others are taking the p***
Chrissie, i think I have a voice for such people. When he left he said remind me never to get on the wrong side of you.
The programme follows the High Court bailiffs, so they have the necessary authority
no problem hin.If you can then you can tell me everything from the beginning as i seem to have missed some and i don't want you saying everything here.
:) good for you,jaxx
This man had all the identification and was all set to get the police to arrest her there and then and take her to court the next day.
Clear that address from your profile, Lilli then you will be happier.
Jaxx the lioness, lol
I have had plenty of practice over the last few months.
I was threatened by a cowboy builder that we had to do work on the house and he knew that my husband worked away so basically tried to scare me by telling the other builder he worked with that he knew people that would come knocking on my door and then take everything in it..as he knew i was disabled and had the bairn...It takes a more weaslier man than him to intimidate me...
...and now you have a de-cluttered home...
Also this week there was a scam tried over the phone. Something about Sky changing the viewing card and needing the sort code and account number. I asked the woman for my password and she put the phone down on me. You have to have your wits about you sometimes
That was for jaxx
The world is full of ba8s
I do and some lovely treasures that I found in all the clutter. Positive side of negative situation. The SS don't visit us now as Ash has gone home full time and Jess has been taken off the child protection order.
Good for you Jaxx. There are so many scams about. They woul;d never ask you for your bank details, only your date of birth normally and a password.I'm sick of the phone calls...i just put the phone down.
Yay for small victories 😉
My auntie is on my case because I haven't phoned her for months. Good heavens, I haven't had time to breathe let alone phone relations
I hate it when you get cold calls on your mobile. I hardly use mine except to my daughter or a few friends. How do the get my number???
Chrissie..Is ba8's a word on this grid...lol( i'd be surprised)
There's cr** which is apt as well
No, but I am in the PB for using cr4
They buy the details from firms who take them off the electoral role or forms you have filled in.
I only answer my mobile when it is a number that the phone recognizes and it will tell me names that i have programmed in.I know it's not the same for people who just have a cheap mobile as in phone and text like my F.I.L
I think it should be made illegal to sell your details to other companies, It is an invasion of privacy
But if the number doesn't come in and you answer and you don't like what they are saying, just kill the call.
That is true I'll check more carefully next time I get a call. Luckily I am Billy No Mates so I don't get many!!
When you fill in your electoral roll form before the general election make sure you ask to be put on the restricted list which the council don't allow firms to see.
I'm sick of getting phone calls from companies which people can't understand my accent, because they don't live here and i'm not being racist or predjudiced but i can't understand them either.
Just keep on asking what did you say and they will soon get tired of repeating themselves.
And that is not to say that they don't live in GB...before people complain...
I usually say -this is a really bad line.........!!
Happy nana. Just had a short face time with son before he goes to work, and baby Amelia of course ðŸ˜
I always tick the no box for 'other companies on emails
Hi Deeha
Isnt being a nana the most wonderful thing?
My husband always says'What do you want'?
Best line for unwanted phone calls is "sorry, I don't have a phone" (think that was Rose's hubby)
Hi lilliann
It is Dee
There, that has made you happy when you go to bed so you will have sweet dreams. I am off to my bed now as That meeting is at 9.30 and we have jess' other nan's funeral at midday. Night all.
Night jaxx. Best wishes for tomorrow x
Deeha, you have friends here hin
Off to bed too. Night all
lol Chrissie. I once got someone really thinking I was going to buy a conservatory we chatted for ages. Then I said is there a problem if I lice on the third floor!!
Love it Dee!
live - I don't have lice!!
Haha
Jax, sweet dreams hin and tc and don't forget to email me please.
LOL Deeha :)
Night Chrissie, lovely speaking to you, tc and sweet dreams hin
Think I will call it a day too. Night all good luck
Night Deeha, Sweet dreams and tc hin
Anybody here?
Me, I am for a few minutes
Hi bichon!
I'm still here(Oh no, i here you say).
hi Scrabs, how was your day with your Mom?
I am here as well.
watching the Giver and babbling
I thought all of the UK folks went to bed.
Hi phandmd too
Isn't it after 1 AM?
bbl
It went well, bichon. She enjoyed the food.
Anyone have in7 and in6?
No, sometimes i'm here late, soory
in 6 in + what you do with a shovel + cons.
in7 sounds like a North American but add a cons
don't have the 7 yet
thanks lil
Yw Luv
Got it now, LWG. I was starting from the wrong i.
By the way, it isn't after 1am it is nearly ten to one
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving
in7 = the start of someone from Delhi, an In**an + soup comes in a tin ***
just finished, any clues needed?
I am on my last 3. Congrats.
ty
WTG Luv!
I still need 26 and 6 of those are 7's so i'll just plod along for 20 minutes
ty lil
Can someone please tell me what my icon picture is? Is it a white dog with a harness or a close up of a dog? I changed it and it shows up when I don't use Babble Expert but when I view Babble thru Expert it shows the old pic of the white dog.
The dog in your icon and then on your profile are different, which happens with me, but they aren't the same as coloured ears, so are they yours Luv?
Close-up of white dog with brown ears
We must have like minds Luv :)
Thanks, the close up is my new dog, Maggie. The white dog was my previous dog, Lexie, that passed away in July
I can see a white dog
So lil, which pic shows up in chat for you and do you have Babble Expert?
I see close-up for both
I have babble expert and see a white dog with a harness
If i go on your profile i see a white dog with brown ears and nose
that's how mine works too lil, not like your Scrab. Oh well, I want to remember both my dogs so I guess that's okay
I have BE too.
Well thanks for the info. and hope you both finish the grid soon. Take care!
So, is your new dog the one with the brown ears and nose Luv?
DOne. That was not a fun grid. I used the Resources tab above to find my lat 50 or o.
Wtg Scrab!
I've been using that too but it's slow going
So, let me give you clues.
Scrabs, i don't like to ask but can i ask a question about a tennage girl and hormones?
*teanage
Sure. Lock her up til she's 25.
Actually, it doesn't matter. It's your time off and i ahve an appointment for her next week..I need a clue for ca6/740 please
yes, lil my new dog, Maggie, is the one with the brown ears.
ca7/48 aswell please
ca 7/40 is a man's name with a gerund ending
ca7/48 = what you do with a tent + smoke weed with a b***
Well they both look beautiful Luv and one has and the otherone probably will wrap you around her paw :)
ca 7/48 is what you do in a tent + if you are incorrect you are wr***
I'm thinking about it Scrab, b ut as long as she's not in the same building as me :)
thanks lil, I love my dogs and yes I do let them rule the roost-lol
People seem to have a problem with icons showing up in Expert. The new icon shows up in regular Babble Luv.
I've never smoked weed, so i have no idea, sorry
The keys are to remain her parent and not her friend, to remain calm and in control (never show that she is making you upset or frustrated), to have clear expectations and consequences...
is my clue helpful then lil?
Neither have I, so LWG' clue is better.
Ty Luv, i got your clue
good, if no more clues are needed I'm going to call it a night
Yes, ty both, i have the 7's now
I still need 24 Luv :)
Night Luv, thanks and tc hin.
That sounds great advice Scrabs, until she is hormonal and wants to bite and kick and i can be as calm and nice as anyone.I think it is to do with her periods and she's a monster from hell!
Also, frequently validate that adolescence is difficult. And remind her that your focus is to prepare her for adulthood = respect, responsibility, kindness, independence, etc.
My husband spoke to a female doctor the other day when he had a medical and she will see her and thinks it's hormonal..as long as she doesn't need to take tablets as she won't even take a paracetamol for a headache.I think it is hormonal. She gets really bad headaches and cramps monthly like i did but she then gets really angry and bites and kicks and it's for a day or 2 before her period starts
Ibuprofen or naproxen are much more effective for cramps and she should start the med a day or two before she is due.
We have done that with her Scrab as in respect and kindness, etc and she is for anyoone else that she knows or meets , so i can't complain at that.Atleast i've brought her up right.
Very good. Keep up the good work. Teach her to be a leader and not a follower. Far too many teens are followers.
She won't take them.I've told her to and a doctor has told her to.She was on some tablets for migraines as she was getting them monthly and was suppose to take them but wouldn't.My daughter is such a pessimist, that she thinks that tablets will hurt her more.trouble is she looks on the internet and listens to people who talk to the bairns at school too much and they normally tell them the worst things.
Read medication info with her so she knows that the meds are safe in the correct doses at the correct intervals, and only for a few days each month too
The problem is, she will be a follower, as she has been bullied so much throughout the years because of her hair colour and will always listen to others as she just wants friends. She's only tough with me...hopefully she'll get tougher with others.
We've done that, but once she's heard it from Tom, Dick or Harry, it doesn't matter...she always thinks the worst is going to happen
Too bad.
Anyway, that is my bairn and i will ahve to make her more pro life like me and her dad.She was definitely born a Wednesdays child! Thanks for listening Scrabs.
I have a "Wednesday's Child" too, Lilli
Is your bairn so full of woe too Phan?
Yes, she is. She is very emotional.
How old is she Phan?
Adolescent girls are emotional hurricanes/tornadoes and they especially enjoy sucking their mothers up then spitting them out later.
21 now Adolesence was full of angst for her
I'm back and I am so happy I don't have a teen aged daughter, but an adult and a mother
ca 6/24 pls
Thanks for that Scrabs...eeh god, i've got atleast 3 more years of this. She's great with her dad, doesn't swear, kick or bite, and as soon as he's away....munch time
Ladies I had the worst periods where I needed prescription pain pills before I eventually had a hysterectomy get them on birth control so they only have 4 periods a ye
sorry period a year
Phan, i take it she's better now?
Periods, what a distant memory
They don't need to suffer like I did
she is still very emotional. Or maybe I should say very passionate about what she feels.
Yep, my hysterectomy was SO helpful for me after years of suffering with pain and anemia.
Why not just take birth control pills
hormonally, her problems are the opposite, even now, she is not regular.
I was seriously bad every month with headaches, stomache pains and she seems to be like me, and i and my mam,Aunty, nan all had to have hysterectomy's in our 30's so i really hope she doesn't follow suit
But if she has all the pain we had, it will be the best thing for her
Totally agree they didn't decide someone needed to have a period every month until afterwards
I'm thinking about putting her on Birth control pills but she is just 15, so i'm not so sure
Lots of teens are on birth control
ca 6/24?
She isn't on birth control for sex but for health reasons
nm
Foam
They should call the pills somethoing else, like period management
Oops
I know, but the birth control tablet over years can give you problems
ca6/24 like comedian Charlie but drop the letter that isn't in the grid
Sorry Bich, i don't have it
True, it can, but lots of women take them safely for years
It actually is protective against ovarian cancer. There are benefits.
It's okay, got it
But she goes through hell every month
See you tomorrow, kiddos.
No girl should have to deal with that
bye scrabs
Really Scrabs? Me and her dad think she should be on some sort of pill but i know she won't take it every day as she doesn't like taking pills, and it's not that she can't swallow one, it's the medication thing, for some reason, so would a monthly injection be better
I was 16 when I got on them and it was for periods not sex. After hysterectomy at 38 I am still on hormones just not for birth control and that has been 10'years
Depo Provera is an injection given every 3 months
so that would be just as good as a daily pill Scrabs?
He
herin!
Howdy and happy thankseating
It is very convenient so that teens do not have to remember a pill everyday. Talk to a gynecologist.
Time to get into bed and read now.
thanks! I am utterly stuffed
gnight Scrabbs
ni6 clue, anybody?
Night Scabs.
Just started don't look at this fuzy heas
FW hagn
I was 18 Kristin, but i didn't have periods until i was 16 but suffered badly for 6 months before i started .i suffered with bad stomach pains and headaches before and after the bairn was born that it got to the point i could have killed myself and then i had to tell a male gynecologist how bad it was..it just seems to go through the females in my family and i don't want her to suffer the same, which is why she's seeing a doctor this week and i think the injection will be the best thing for her.
Night Scrabs, tc sweet dreams and ty
Wtg Bichon and tc hin
woo hoo bichon
(herin) lovely to see you
Lillian I can so relate and she is lucky to have a mom who understands
I just hope she doesn't have to have a hysterectomy in her 30's like we all have had to, plus my cousin got breast cancer because of high oestrogen levels
Lili - you can get the genetic testing for the Breast Cancer. It is something I have to look into myself
I had a hysterectomy when i was 35 Kristen and it has been 10 years but i've not taken a tablet since as when they gave me them after the op i got bad headaches again so i refused. i eat my way through the menopause but still get hot flushes.
My cousin is the only one to have had it so they won't test Herin
It is something that I would think of if you can afford the cost.
Sadly she was pregnant at the time and she lost the bairn before they told her she had cancer. She's younger than me by 2 years
But luckily she already had a daughter just after mine.
Honestly I am debating getting off hormones went to gyno Tuesday and go back next week after blood work results to discuss options I also have a tumor that produces prolactin so I need to treat one or the other
If more of the women in my family had it we would be tested by the NHS and if there were a couple and my doctor said that they wouldn't test, then i would pay for a test.
I would seriously get off hormones and is the tumour bad? i know that sounds like a silly question. Can it be treated?
prolactic...need to look that up
*prolactin
There's pro's and cons for the prolactin
Right now I am stewing at how I can help friends after he had a bad car accident.
I haven't taken any hormone tablets for 10 years and i don't think i'm any worse of for not.I don't need to give milk and my metabolism might not be the same and i'm not sure about my immune system..i get bad colds the same as i did 10 years ago.You can eat your way throught he menopause Kristin and changer your diet.
Oh no Herin. What happened? Is he ok?
sorry to disrupt such a heavy topic, but can anybody clue the ni6/27 ?
Driving to work a car drifted into his lane. Dislocated his ankle and shattered his foot bones. - http://tinyurl.com/ora3eh7 THIS is why you pay the frog attention on the road
Dan, ni6, sounds like someone who is on horse back
gerund ending
aha! tx lilliann - that's FW
Thanks hadn't even started yet
Sounds very painful Herin, i hope he recovers quickly and fully
Wtg Dan!
wow herin he will need a lot of help with a lot of things during recovery - feet need a lot of time to heal
So does he. Just agrivates me the other driver walked away unhurt
Surgeon has demanded he stay put for the time before and after surgery so they are keeping him in hospital where he can go slowly crazy
Was the other driver breatherlized?
Guess since they were both driving at around 60ks or 37 miles ph it meant lower injury.
Sometimes drivers do drift into other lanes because of a lot of reasons
Don't know Lil I believe so. judging by no skid marks on the other driver he was not paying the fluck attention
It was lucky for your friend that they were going slower as a faster speed would have meant alot worse injuries
Yes it was. Still super angry that the other driver walked away uninjuried
Well, sometimes that's the way it is...it's not nice for the person on the receiving side but as the saying goes 'Accidents to happen', as i say until the driver has been questioned properly, no-one knows. It could have been wind, an animal or just the driver wasn't concentrating or ont he phone etc...
We were behind a driver today who was in a mercedes 4x4 and was on her phone and was putting her brakes on every 2 minutes and was dangerous but she didn't need to have her phone upto her ear as she could plug it into the car.She wasn't concentrating and was going forward into junctions she shouldn't have done and stopped infront of others when she should have gone
That is a massive fine here talking on phones.
Lil - he wasn't concentrating and talking on the phone here is a huge fine.
It is here too, but you have to get caught first
Nope seems the guy fell asleep at the wheel. Now that just angers me
Then he deserves everything he gets herin, but atleast your friend is alive and with operations? plaster and therapy he will walk away...lots of others don't.
Yes that is true. That we are grateful for. Problem is my friend has an on the feet job.
does he know how long he will be off his feet for?
Or foot?
Any where up to 6mths
Luckly his boss was driving behind when it happened and will be putting him into control room duties
Will he get sick pay?
Atleas the can still work then
Don't know.
did everyone run off
Hello, is anyone here?
off and on
Hi jes. Happy Thankgiving. Are you on call tonight?
nope! I have the whole weekend off :)
WOO HOO! So are you doing anything special with the time off?
today we've been binge-watching old buffy the vampire episodes and eating leftover pizza :)
tomorrow i go on the hunt for wheels and snow tires for my car
Wow. You aren't a traditional turkey, gravy, and family type then?
did that last weekend (when i was oncall, hah!). mom's outta town this week.
Aah! My dtr's boyfriend's family will celebrate this Saturday; we had just 7 for the dinner (ex-DIL was here too; she just kind of invited herself at the last minute.)
hah. nice and polite of her
oh, and bruce re-arranged all the furniture in the living room 3 or 4 times last night and this morning.
I kind of thought my son would ask here to come yesterday because she told him then that she had no where to go; so when he said that I asked him then if he's told her she could come & he said "no, it's time she learns she's not part of this family anymore"
wow. she sounds special then
Bruce?? Your son, or your boyfriend/partner?
she's mentally ill (bipolar +++ other stuff)
hubby
mentally ill is hard
The funny thing is, she was much more communicative and helped set the table, etc. than she ever was when she was married to my son! She would actually skip family holidays and go get tattoos on holidays instead of being with family!
???Wowm Jes! Did I miss that?
maybe she's addressing some of the illness issues?
I didn't realize you were married!
's okay, we didn't tell anybody we were doing it either.
Well a belated Congrats then! :-)
thanks :)
i never figured i'd be the marrying type, but it's pretty good so far
(But I don't think I'd be very happy about someone re-arranging furniture in the middle of the night myself!)
heh. i was on the couch for most of it... he just moved stuff around me :)
Did you get new furniture or something?
nope
he just wanted to hook his computer to a tv instead of using the laptop monitor, so then the tv had to be a specific distance from the couch, and it rather snowballed.
still, having someone move furniture would be nice….
now we have a wall of monitors, it's kind of hilarious in an uber-geeky way
but means we can both be online and watching tv simultaneously
