Hi all :)
Wow! 2 days running no e in the grid!
Hi, Liz. Yeah, I was disappointed, too.
BBL for my last 25 - g/kids to feed.
cooee and g'gay from me
hi Rose
hey flosey, dear.
*!* ta da *!*
WTG NAN!!!!
3 or 4 new words, but monkeyable
i must be getting old. a lovely young cricketer, aged 26, has died over here, after being hit in the neck by a ball. even don is tearful as he reads out the media releases.
it doesn't help that my youngest is just two years older. my heart goes out to his family.
yes, it was covered in our news this evening as well -- very tragic
I don't think anyone will need clues for this one so off to bed -- see you tomorrow :-)
goodnight Nan
nan, his injury is usually instantly fatal. but the club doctor kept him alive until the paramedics got there. he had all the best possible options open to him.
sweet dreams, nan. will catch you tomorrow when i get home.
down to last word and can't get it, any clues for sc5 before the man who wears the kilt?
sc5/22. sc + *o* are you today + vowel
thanks Rose, I never would have monkeyed that one
now you can sleep with a clear conscience....lolol
for sure, lol, now off to bed, see you tomorrow
xoxox flosey, dear. sweet dreams
thanks Rose - and you enjoy the rest of your day
lovely to go on trips and such but always good to get back home, eh!
forgive the Canadianism
absolutely, flosey
bye now
Hi all - hi Rose if you're still here.
liz..you there?
Hi ro
Not long now ....
hey...did you get any blow back from the brisbane storm?
No! We had some rain. Enough to fill the tank. Nothing like poor Brisbane. Did you see the size of the hailstones?
Still desperately need rain.
i did..its been on the news... there was footage of someone in the car having their windscreen cracked!
Rumbling thunder last night but def no storm here. Lucky, I guess.
absolutely.... and yes... not long now... getting really excited
Bet Bec is too!
How long are you with her?
yeah...lol... and she's got her panto as well...so her tiggerness will be working over time...
we have 8 days with her
Lol. She emailed about her friend too.
Awesome.
yeah... this is the second time xmas and stuff has pushed her to fess up about a man.... THIS one looks like he has a lot in common
I think it's your visit that pushed her to fess up!
Hope so.
yup...me too...
You'll have to feed back your opinion after. Puhleeze!
oooh yes... worry not...
:)
How has semi retirement been? No regrets, I'd guess.
lol... hmm...lemme think about that for a nano second... nope.. nope... no regrets...'cept i cant win a million quid on the lottery so Den could join me...
but.... for now...im off to pottery.... catch ya later...
have a good day.
good morning
cooee and g'day from me
cooee to youee
just back in from dinner. omg...i have eaten soooo much.
Quick hi before dinner to both of you
Is the food wonderful?
{{hugs}} liz girl. has sprite been on yet?
Sounds like you're having a wonderful time.
Not that I've seen - but I've not been here all the time.
Did you catch her yesterday?
liz, do you know the place where Rose is?
ruby, tonight was an all you can eat buffet. bbq pork spare ribs, veal medallions, honey sesame prawns, roast lamb or pork, mini dimsims...
No but it's somewhere I'd like to visit.
liz, i did see her yesterday. it was just after you went.
OK.
SORRY I MISSED YOU.
that buffet sonds like heaven (unless you're a vegetarian - lol)
sorry for shouting!
Or kosher!
ruby, plenty of veg di4es available
Veg us fine - fish too.
*giggle* liz, it's okay, you have to be heard over don's ramblings on...
just kidding; I'm def a carnvore/omnivore -- if it holds still I'll eat it
Lol!
Since it was just the two of us, I made a guinea hen instead of a turkey plus plus plus
*yawn* have been out in the fresh sea air for most of the day. we have played mini golf each day.
Time for do dins! Hope to catch you again soon - probably not tomorrow coz we're going out. Hugs to you both. Hugs palsy to pugs, if you see her tomorrow.
Dindins*
np's liz. catch you when we get home.
<-- misses the ocean, any ocean!
Damned auto correct! Palsy?!
(I was wondering.....)
ruby, how is burt? any improvement?
he got up at 3AM and started to get dressed!
egad, ruby....what time did he think it was??
I have no idea as he has as clock right net to his side of the bed. Fortunately, he got back to sleep.
I can't type, again.
thank goodness, dear. how worrying for you.
He gets odder by the day
was Mother Mac like that toward the end?
she had all her marbles til the end. my mother was the one who went off to fairy land. she didn't even recognise me the last 3 days of her life.
I'm really glad his daughter is coming next week as who knows how fast this decline will do
i think it's all to do with oxygenation of the brain. any cardiac issues, or respiratory issues, or like what burt has, the TIA's will induce the same lack of cognitive function.
My father lived to be about 93 or 4 and had his marbles, too. My mother had hers, too, but couldn't speak after her strokes but still hung on for a couple of years
It is possible that he had another Tia yesterday before he fell. YThere is no wasy of knowing and he refuses to have any more tests
i think it is highly probable, ruby. given what he was like after you and luisa picked him up.
do you check his hand grips after each episode?
All I can do is try to keep him safe and well-fed. I can't make him happy and he won't take an anti-depressant
He holds my hand very (too) tightly
ruby, compare the left to the right, dear. if one is weaker, then he has had another TIA
OK, will do. For now,I have to go
XXRosie, sweetie!
okay, love. i hope you can have a nice day. xoxox
good morning all
{{hugs}} darling sprite. i was about to give up and ho to bed. lovely to see you, dear one.
*giggle* ho...go...which ever, both are good...lol
hello my darling rose :) Sorry, I slept in all of a sudden. Guess I still need a lot of sleep.
well you are here now, and that is what counts. yes, sweetie, lots of good healing sleep.
how was your day?
lovely, despite the sunburn. found some aloe vera at the chemist, and some roll-on SPF 50. have applied both liberally.
good girl :) Sunburn is so unpleasant. But glad you had a lovely day. What did you guys do?
just shows how much it was needed....you could almost here my skin slurping it in.
*giggles* Ssssssssslurp!
another round of mini golf...i let don win...his poor male ego was becoming fragile....lol. in the spa first thing for about 30mins.
ah sounds great
light lunch at the bakery. afternoon nap, then out for dinner at the bowl club.
great program
how was your day yesterday? did you manage to rest up between shopping and cooking?
oh, and walking Terra of course.
yes I did, and I felt better too. More energy. Am getting over the whole accident thing, I think. Back to normal :) And today is a free me day.
nice to have those me days. very essential for our sanity.
so true. Haven't even dressed yet. Sitting in my bathrobe, babbling and yawning and feeling good.
we will be travelling for mo4 of tomorrow. should be home just before the flip. i think i am gonna be tired then. my body simply does not like being hurtled through space....lol
traveling is very tiring. Especially when you are HSP. So many triggers and impulses and impressions.
good for you, sprite. have you a little special something planned just for you?
no not really. Being home by myself without any obligations for today is special.
yeah, i know that feeling all too well. you feel like running screaming through the house just because you can.
hehehe exactly :) And enjoying the silence.
tricky little grid, isn't it?
no one saying where are my socks/jumper/coat/shoes? what's for lunch? when is dinner? what are you reading/doing ?
or the ubiquitous Mummmmm! Mummmmm!
a few nasty curly ones...
phantom: stomach
oh, yes...i forgot about the muuummmm!!! these days it's more graaaannnyyy rose? *sigh*
ah but that is occasionally, and sweet, grin.
oh yeah....but i had my fair share of muuuummmm i can tell you.
Oh I don't doubt that, lol. Those boys... Seems they can never locate anything on their own.
*giggle* did i ever tell you that deacon talks as fast as he runs? it is so hard to understand him. i told him he had to speak slower so that my ears could keep up...lol
lol! I told my kids mothers go deaf when they are on the toilet. All well again as soon as the door opens again.
nice one, i wish i had thought of that when the boys were little.
survivalism, grin
because i had polished wood floors, i could always hear them coming. they used to go down on all fours and peer under the door to speak to me. manys the time i tricked them by lifting my feet up off the floor.
lololllll
* chuckling* at the memories
oh... reminds me of one birthday... lots of people in the house and serving cake. One of the guests hid the children's cake when they weren't looking. The kids were like, huh? And I told them it was 'run-away-cake'.
the guest put it back again when they weren't looking, and then took it again, it was hilarious. The kids totally believed it, and held on to it while eating it.
and we still call that kind of cake 'run=away=cake' here in the house
poor kids....how old were they?
around 4 and 6, I think
i can just imagine it....
so sweet. And a great memory.
name that proper noun: famous french singer
sprite, love. nearly 10pm here, and we have to be up and packed and out of here by 10am. i think i had better try and get some sleep....and allow myself some leeway in the morning. my body simply hates it when i rush around doing stuff.
indeed, sweetie. Sleep well and have a save journey home. And rest when home... you will need it. *hugs*
sorry hun, not up on my french singers...
hehehe ok. It is Adamo.
ahhhh, thanx for the enlightenment. a recent singer?
no, my generation.
{{hugs}} and xxxxxx dearest. will catch you tomorrow. hope you have a lovely day.
salvatore adamo, born in 1943. Belgian, actually.
*hugs*, rose, for you and Don.
good morning everyone
Hi Crossy, just got here
morning, all :-)
Une, people should NOT do that to their dogs. : D
just a graphic i found online :-)
am sure it was just for a quick photo!
back in a mo!
Do not get me going on politically correct Christmas greetings. We do not ask our Jewish friends to alter the way they refer to their festivities, so why demand that any other religion do the same? I get tired of kowtowing to those who create a cause just for the sake of the chaos it generates:)
I make it a point to shop at retailers who are not afraid to say the "C" word in their advertizing
so hypothetically, if judaism were the dominant religion, and you were a christian, you wouldn't mind being wished a happy hanukkah everywhere you went
If it is the time for Hanukka, then yes, it is fine
I'm a little perplexed that in our county schools, kids cannot sing anything but "Holiday Songs" but The Dreidel Song is acceptable.
It does not offend me
good point, molly
Should we go to other countries, other places of worship and dictate how they refer to their beliefs? no.
All I'm saying is if religion doesn't belong in schools, then that means all religion.
I am not even Christian,; it is the point of those who are being ordered on how to refer to that which they celebrate
Public schools, I should have said.
I am all for other religions in schools, as long as there is a student population to support it
But , at last count there were over 2400 seperate and identifiable religions... not enough classrooms for all of them:))
I went to a Catholic high school and took a course called World Religions that I found very interesting. I enjoyed learning about other religions. I don't know why we are so "religion phobic" these days.
IMHO those who worship in their own way should be free to do so without me or anyone else dictating how they refer to it or go about it
There are so real interesting ones out there:)
In Asia, are they forced to use some generic term for the way they worship?
that is my 2 cents woth.
lol
and if Judaism were the dominant religion, Joseph, I would be polite and wish them happy Hanukkah as they celebrate and not hold forth on how my own view of God differs from theirs, and that they should alter their greeting because of it.
Now we can discuss puppies and kittens:)
good morning all, help with middle I pls
I am not going shopping today but I will go to the gym after I do laundry, what an exciting day!
howdy peri... please to not say laundry... it may hear you:)
haha
I am almost out of underwear *blushing*
Just a day in the life around here. The laundry always wins
Off to class. tc all...poink!
I was looking at photographs of WalMart on Black Friday thinking "Why do people do that?"

It's part of human nature to want to get a bargain, no matter whaat
Hannukah has become the consolation prize in America. You don't get Christmas, so we'll turn a minor Jewish holiday into something really big so you don't feel left out
Why is Hannukah a consolation prize? I think it's a beautiful holiday with wonderful history.
Yes, but left alone, it is a minor holiday. It's not like Christmast which is central to Christianity. The idea isn't presents.. My ancestors would be shocked at the idea of presents
Well, the central idea of Christmas (the celebration of Christ's birth) isn't presents either.
Good morning, all!
OK, I absolutely love the definition of the wa7/56. I looked it up. I shall use it, probably in a slightly rude sense
I think observant Jews abhor the idea of a Jewish holiday being linked with a holiday of of another religion.
matty, letting my imagination run free
Seriously, look it up. I shall use it next time Jeff is sans attire
I looked it up and I fully understand
Oh wow, I'm sure that will be provocative for him.

Got the ap5

Nbt/nbs
need to check on dryer and go to the Y. bbl to finish with G&T in hand :)
I don't think having some wine or drinks on Thanksgiving indicates that anyone is a big drinker : D
Drunk posting is another story all together : D

Change the last consonant and you get another TA 7
ha....when you said that about the ta 7, mlf, i looked and found one, too....hello all....
hi pen
hi...ta 7 ends with the three letter word meaning belief ....
hi pen
ta7...you have this kind of "ometer" in your car. Two 7 words having one who is and belief endings
rhymes with the catholic book of q & a and prayers used in parochial schools...
hi bichon
ty Molly, pen
has to do with art
did somody say "bbig drinker"
Grppa girl signing in
25 yrs of art school wasted' I never heard of that ta....
mollly the meter word does it end in a vowel?
hmm i wonder why ruby?
no
Hi Grppa girl!
mlf.....didn't you already get that word?
hello car.
no i got the other 7 letter t word
Just change the consonant at the end MLF.
i have the one having to do with art
they both do -- one is the one who does it, the other is the school
got it ty
one ends like the belief and one ends as if it's the person....
phantom: wampum
Well if I had said "meter word" it would end in a vowel. But I said "ometer" so it ends in a consonant.
Hello Everyone. Happy Leftover Day
Waaaaaaah! We don't have any :(
hello westford, nice to see you
hi...
hi car and ruby and pen
nice to see you too ruby
Hi!
we're hardly ever on at the same time
leftovers heating up, but it's not turkey, just guinea fowl
and we ate all the dark meat so this is less than interesting
I wanted a Cape Codder yesterday but our dining room is in turmoil..new ceiling and walls due to bathroom leak..anyway, we couldn't get to the vodka so my husband wanted to borrow some from the neighbor. I said you may not go over there and ask to borrow a cup of vodka
83 words and see you later, kids.
I totally would have....
Bye Ruby! Enjoy
same here... ;o)
Nothing wrong with borrowing a cup of vodka.
we settled for Jack and water instead
but we are the nice older couple..whatever would they think?
That you totally rock
Jack & water sounds pretty good to me
in more ways than one, lol....
It was good..always is
then again, I'd drink almot nything
*woof*
Ugh...I over schmeered my bagel with peanut butter
I never thought of putting peanut butter on a bagel..bet it's really good
bliss
now I want one
Each time I made one, a child came and took it, so I was just not paying attention by the time I got to the third one.
My soon to be 12 YO confessed to me last night that he "knows" about Santa. Broke my heart.
aww that is sad
Well Car, most kids know WAY before that age.
He will keep it quiet for his little brother. I told him that I still believe in Santa...the magic, the goodness, the hope....
but are they really sure Molly ?
I know. He says he has known for a couple of years.
In this day and age, sadly, they are really sure. Kids fake believing because they think they will get better loot that way
my little man is growing up <sigh>
the Santa in the Macy's parade was the real thing..I'm sure of it.
He was a great Santa, West.
time for the original Miracle on 34th street again
Car, once you start getting into the "F YOU" fights, you can be sure that hormones have taken over and your "child" is gone.
:(
I catch a glimpse of him every now and then...like this morning while he played Legos on my bed and showed me all the guys he created.
Speaking of the Macy's parade, I was really looking forward to hearing Idina Menzel sing, and she had to sing that atrocious Mariah Carey song. Blech.
I really don't care at all for anything about Mariah Carey
Nor do I
phantom 2: mosaic
If it were not for Tommy Mottola, Mariah would never have hit the charts.
CA 6/36 please?
ca + sh4/9
ca 6 - like the nut, but different vowel at the end
ty both
yw ;-)
morning babblers!
Hello
Is the WA 7 a word I should know?
no - looked up definition (it's supposed to be a verb) but wouldn't know how to use it in a sentence
same as the DA 7
ty! Fireworks!
congrats car
Any clues need before I go play with Dylan and then nap?
well done!
Earlier, Matty said she was going to use wa7 next time her boyfriend was without clothes. Not sure if that is the way to go though.
LMAO!
Men don't seem to find humor in things like that.
OK...on that note....HAGD all!
Although it does seem a very British thing to say to a naked man.
Blimey love, you're looking a bit wa7
Cheers, Molls et al!
the gym was very crowed today. I did not like that. went 5 miles on the bike in 27 minutes and that was it.
-hi folks!
hi peri
now for the important question - shall i have pumpkin pie or apple tart for breakfast?
i choose pumpkin pie
I had pumpkin/cheesecake pie for breakfast
yum, molly
i just wish i had some whipped cream to go with
*Passes Pip the whipped cream (actually whipped from cream)
om nom nom
we actually enjoyed the stuff from the can last night
not the same thing as Swampthing is it?
more enjoyable
I think I like the real thing better than the can .. but that's just me
i like them all, real, fake, each one has its own specific pleasures
hmmm
I can think of only certain pleasures with canned whipped cream :D
for all my adventures, i've never done that
it actually sounds more fun than it is
i was gonna say, it doesn't really sound like all that much fun
and a few seconds of pleasure doesn't sound worth dead brain cells
oh.. you're talking about huffing.. I was way away from that
okay. then i don't know what you're talking about :I
good.. let's drop it
sounds fair
hmmm.. grid gets tougher at the end
very sad that mochi not in the dictionary because it is delicious
also very hard to type when one arm pinned down by purring cat
try a 74 lb golden retriever on you lap
no thank you!
i'll keep my 14 lbs, tyvm
ah, one too many pets and I am free to capitalize at will
ok.. found my last word.. sc5/22.. jeez no wonder this took too long
Congrats ru :)
not even close to that, but still going steady with no cheating or cluing yet
well done ru!
FW!!
yay!
Have a lovely "black friday" y'all. :)
Being a grammar geek, the Ç was a word I actually know : D
wow, I got all the 7s on my own!
i totally grammar nerded out this week
the ? was what?
i posted on fb how i wished there were a word for the way people use decimate
and i lecture my thanksgiving feast peoples about the correct use of lie vs lay
bad vs good huh?
because it makes me crazy when people tell dogs to lay down -- what do you want the dog to lay down? oh, you want him to lie down? then tell him THAT
Watch that grammar stuff here, people get their panties in a wad
I so wanted wadish to be a word today
Sadly, you missed the discussion about wa7
oh... I don't seem to understand why people worry so much about grammar here and not tyops.
a wadish is what elmer fudd puts in a salad for color
teehee
i do wike pickled wadishes
Watch it mentioning those tyops buster. The bitter will strike at you.
Need clue for the sc5/22 please
the bitter, or the biter?
The bitter biters.
:)
sounds like bourgeois.
sc5/22...Ç
--heads for French clues
Good clue, Ru

Ah good, that's what it's all about.
my sil nailed it with the dinner.. everything was delish
It must be nice to be cooked for when you are used to doing all the cooking.
I bought them a new oven for xmas.. it was installed in October... their old one died and they couldn't afford a new one
Wow, that was nice of you.
you know? it really was.. I was just happy to be with them.. and it was nice to have someone cook for me. I really enjoyed it.
I thought something useful and necessary for xmas was better than flannel socks and crap like that
I always appreciate the useful over the superfluous.
yes.. me too
I came home with an apple pie too.. ,--living large
that was her way of saying thanks for the oven :D
quick fw for me today
would love to stay and chat and catch up, but i have statistics quizzes to take and have got to get my coursework under control!

have a good weekend
enjoy the holiday, those who are celebrating a long weekend, and have a great day and weekend!
you too pippin
and here is the queen of tyops!
hi ruby..

I can be the Prince of Puns
Theree once was a lady fro L|imerick, Whose husband was know as a ****

hi dan, molly....hello john-boy, mary ellen....
Hi ..
hi, tor.
Sounds like an AA meeting
hi ru. my name is saan and I am addicted to Babble
Ha
and hello to everyone else too!
Watches saan's first 12 steps
I didn't mean to kill the chat
Picking away at this grid like leftovers ..
Ha! Thankfully i didn't take any leftovers
hope everyone had a good holiday...
Oh no, just an apple pie : D
Apple pie doesn't count :D
Hello babbleworld!
hello jj
I left behind the delicious mashed potatoes and stuffing and ham and turkey and yams etc. Apple pie is another story.. :D
Belated Thanksgiving wishes to all!
Our Thanksgiving tradition for more than 20 years is that my family and my best friend
Oh wow. I'm impressed with anyone who does a ham AND a turkey. That is a lot of cooking.
she went all out.. it was pretty damn good too
best friends family meet to potluck the day. Then we come to my house in the next several nights to eat leftovers
I saw some great left over recipes on MSN jilly
My philosophy is that anyone who spends days cooking Thanksgiving deserves a day at the spa the Friday after.
That
dang it all
that is why my friend and family get together. Quite the feast but no woman has to cook it all
good call Molly
it really is a lot of work
That it is ruru...
OMG, for over two decades I did Thanksgiving dinner for a family of five with NO help. Then had to do the dishes! I'm DONE. Now some Thanksgivings are at my son's but yesterday I made a little turkey breast for myself with some sides....SO glad to now have to do all that anymore!
not have to do
I cooked for my wife's side of the family for many many years.. without help.. it's a load.. especially the clean up.. something about Thanksgiving uses a ton of stuff in the kitchen
I never minded when I was younger, but my hubby has always done the dishes. I miss the gathering of family...but do like it better now.
But it's sort of bittersweet now with my friends and my family having grown up and moved away. Much less people.
I must admit I'm my own worst enemy as far as cooking. I like things done a certain way and I seem to be the only one who can achieve it so no one COULD help me.
in my case I was a better cook than anyone else and I got the burden laid on me.. that's why yesterday was so special. I only made one thing..
Absolutely (ruru).. I must humbly admit I'm one of the best cooks as well.
I have always brought the infamous green bean cassarole. But hubby bought too many mushrooms and so I tried a 'from scratch' recipe this year. It was wonderful!
I learned a nice trick with the turkey from a friend.. to cook the turkey breast down for an hour and a half and then flip it to finish
it comes out moister that way
Ruru, I have always made the turkey that way! Keeps it so moist. And, Jilly, try using Golden Mushroom soup instead of cream of mushroom...much more flavorful.
I also tried a new thing with mine too ruru. I separated the breast skin and inserted a herb butter. It also kept the breast very moist, I roast too big a bird for flipping it.
yeah.. it really mad a big difference when I last cooked a turkey
I like my homemade one, but that is how I make the soup one as well. I heartily agree mimi
made.. a big difference .. sorry
Yes, Jilly, that's a great way to add flavor and moisture. Try using Celtic sea salt...I use it for everything now...so much flavor but less sodium and really good for you.
But was glad hubby was asleep as I was arm deep under the skin spreading out that butter! What a sight that must have been.
I'm enjoying a very unusual wine right now
Do tell ruru!!
it's a grape I've never had before called Passerina
What vineyard?
Another good trick is to use Knorr condensed "gel" stock. Just lay it on top of either turkey or chicken and it kind of melts over the bird.
I am gaining a taste for reds
it's called Abbazzia de Propezzanno Paserina Anfora
$$$???
Just love finding new wines. I did more of that when I lived in California, though. Had a different lifestyle.
passerina juice aged in clay amphoras.. it's pretty damn good
It's about $36 jilly
That's not bad...probably can't get it up here in the frozen wilderness
I doubt it
I am going to have it with roasted pepper and tomato/basil soup
and grilled cheese quesadillas
Just going to have to visit you ruru! LOL
homemade by the way
My hubby loves leftover turkey, so we are having leftovers.
with canned tomatoes from the summer
I love homemade tomatoe soups!
leftovers are wonderful.. jilly.. no shame there
Jilly...I feel a road trip coming on for you and me to go visit ruru!!!
I prefer leftovers with most Italian food...just so much better when the flavors get really acquainted.
Nope...LOL, I wouldn't have to cook a turkey with our potluck, but hubby HAS to have the leftovers and I like to boil the carcass down for broth.
oh.. second day lasagna is the BEST!
My chicken paprikash is like that...I don't serve it until the next day.
Wouldn't that be fun mimi!
I haven't made a lasagna in a long time
That would be SUCH a good time, Jilly!
I make my yams with rosemary cream sauce the day before. It is much better
Hello all. We are also in the midst of left overs. But that is a reward of the meal well-cooked.
We have an Italian place here, ruru, that makes great lasagna and their meatballs are the BEST!! Have look for decent meatballs in this town for 30 years and finally find them when I'm going to move next year!
Gotta go feed cats and put leftovers in oven. Probably bbl. BTW, I'm thankful for all of you guys!!
And we are heading into deep winter weather tonight. I detest the snow, rain, freeze, warm, then bitterly cold
going to rain here tonight
with 7 boys aged 14 to 23, there are no leftovers...we were looking ofr holes in the table cloth
We <3 you too mimi!
booooooh
Rain....sigh...
I took two walks with the dog already.. so he's exercised
i heard there was an earthquake again in Napa last night. So glad it wasn't a big one
really?... I didn't feel it.. I was dead to the world however
hi folks
hi doren
LOL...that's funny TO
hello welki!
hi dorens!
are you recovered today doren?
Hello welki, ruru, jilly to and all!
But sadly, must head out to make dinner....bbl. 24 left
*waves hello/goodbye to stidg!
g'night, jilly - heading back west in the morning to that weather you're having
laying low. find out on Monday how all these meds are working... Otherwise it's the hospital. But I'm sure they are
ut oh - doren, you're not well?
carved half a turkey for the boys table and they found and decoured the other half!
bad bout of COPD, but it is most likely under control now
i've been in heavy denial
Dinner is important, too. Hope you are getting stronger!
sorry to hear that,doren.
that is a bad business.
oh lord, the amount of prednisone I've been on.. raging hunger!
egads - they have you on symbicort, ventalin, all that stuff?
are you talking now with an Austrian accent now Doren?
oh please.... you name it. The latest is a nebulizer, and it seems to be making some headway.
aside from the good medicine, nebulizers force you to sit for a few minutes
daughter's on the way, must head out - g'night everyone
night
ventalin, advair, tudorza, heavy duty antibiotic, and now duoneb. + guafinesin, hycodan, and vicodin for the very sore shoulder I had and flexeril for the shoulder and ceflex for the stitches i had to get in my hand when i stupidly cut myself last tuesday.
night, welk
wow you are a walking pharmacy
night welki.
oh dear. did your family come over and cook for you, or did you have to bag thanksgiving.
well, took the last ceflex today... quit the vicodin severyal days ago... think i'm almost done needing the flexeril
they ended up here... were supposed to be at rachels new apartment in Brooklyn but I nixed that. they helped a lot, but I was flying on the prednisone yesterday and running around doing much more than i should have. it WAS delicious though, i must say
glad to hear that you were not alone. we were up at the lake again.
you can send the leftovers out here doren
Good Evening Everyone.
hi nef
hello friends. just coming in for the last ones
Hello Nef. Happy to see you on the chog this evening.
Dorens, sorry to hear that you're having troubles; but it looks like you have the right meds to fix anything there! ;-)
i sent most of them home with the kids... jeremy and family went to spend the weekend at Rachel's. And I've eaten well today. TUrkey soup to make tomorrow and also turkey/cauliflower casserole for tomorrow's dinner
Dorens, I sure hope you feel well soon. COPD is hard work.
thanks nef... i think that's true
and thanks also bugs.
Hi Bugsd, stidg, ruru, Dorens, TO and everyone not chatting
hi, nef.
hello neffers
love your icon TO!
COPD is tough! And the steroids can drive a person nuts; so I understand the bit about flying around overdoing it
hi, gmere.
gtg, feeling restless. happy babbling
Bye, TO! stay well!
yeah, kind of funny that I'm supposed to rest, and feel like I need a straitjacket. I'm doing things I'm normally much too inert to do... Love the energy. bye owl
bye, doren, hope you heal quickly, wihou hospitalization.
Just be ready for when they start tapering the prednisone. Between DH and myself, we've described it as major PMS. If someone even looks at you wrong, you want to scratch their eyeballs out (DH's description)
wow
(maybe I should preface that statement by the fact that they really hit DH with high doses of steroids to prevent the MS relapses)
I didn't realize cortisone had THAT much effect on people
my aunt was on high doses of cortisone for her life due to asthma
maybe my mother could have used massive doses of Cortisone :D
it wreaks havoc on bones
done yet doren?
steroids do, ruru. That's why they talk about athletes who use them illegally have steroid rages
yeah.. I've heard about that nef
toat
the new year lorena?
oops
or a frog in your toat?
not a word, lorena
:D
doreeeeeeeennnnn?
You're safe, you can come out and chat! ;-)
Noticing I still have 62 words left. Need to focus on the grid.
i'm going to lie down for a bit.. I'm a little tired. Have fun all
I started just a few minutes before I first chatted; I only have 85 words left now. Maybe I should focus on the grid too now.
sorry.. ran into the kitchen
sorry.. ran into the kitchen
Noticing I have 24 words left.
upis
oops. sorry folks
well, it wasn't a word, so you're safe! ;-)
I have 54 words left and just realized I still don't have any 7 letter words.
thanks Nef. I left on a food hunt and didn't check where the cursor was. Some people get quite affronted apparently.
Noticing I have 13 words left. Now trying all combinations of letters. Monekys are doing very well today for me.
WTG, stidg!
(I need to stop trying to chat in the WORD box!)
lool
Bugs, this is a GAME to me. I like to come here to relax, occasionally chat with people who I've "known" through this game. If someone is taking it too seriously; then They aren't any fun and they must have a dreary life
I try not to chat when those types are on; I shove the chat log off so I can't see it for my own sense of control
I agree Nef but sometimes I just get tired of offending people who feel the need to tell me they are offended.
what a great idea! I should do that too. Just never thought of it.
I hear you; but wouldn't it be nice to just tell them to put a sock in it and PLAY the game?
Hahaha. I agree with you, Bugsaw and Nef. This is a game, a place to relax, unwind, escape from life, and chat with cyberfriends.
:-D
Hi Scrabs. you are 100% correct! :-)
This isn't real? Darn. I thought I met some really cool, real people but illusions are always nice too. I have the illusion of fitting into really small sizes of clothes. Not going to happen anytime soon.
But, as in real life, some egos are searching for power and control.
HI Scrabs. I must say you are so patient when people ask for free medical advice.
and you are right too gmere. Most of the people here are wonderful and caring souls.
LOL, stidg! I have the same illusion! ;-)
I want to help people negotiate the medical world and avoid unnecessary medical care or tests. It can be dangerous to be a patient and one must educate onself and be a self-advocate.
Hi Scrabbs. Saw your relatives yesterday and they seem to be doing very well in real life.
Scrabs, there must be some way to not allow them either the power or the control.
Nice, stidgmere
I ignore the meanies, both here and in life.
I agree with you about the medical field, Scrabs. I find that now-a-days dealing with health issues is pretty darn scary and a person needs someone to advocate for them
I want to be an advocate for people because I know the problems as an insider.
Well, with 6 left I think I'll fix some left overs and enjoy the evening. Always great to see you. What a good way to end the day. Keep up your spirits and remember, You have the power when you include others.
Wouldn't it be nice to ignore most of the irritation-causing people in real life? <dreaming of ignoring things such as the ticket I got the other day…>
wise words as always gmere. Please give my regards to M. Gmere
niters, stidg. Take care of yourself!
Nef do you have the as 6 word yet? I could use some help with it
Fancy neckwear ..

I even tried truish even though it was such an obvious oxymoron
I tried that one too, Bugsaw.
I find that some non-words that I monkey these days are really ingrained in my mind. I'm down right positive that they MUST be Words because I've tried them so often!

And I am ready for bed. I've been sick since Sunday--laryngitis and cough. Not much of a voice since Monday night. Very tired too.
See you tomorrow, kiddos.

Hello there Nef!How are you? HOw was your Thanksgiving?
I'm fine, Min. We had a nice Thanksgiving; but we've all had colds so I was a bit stressed about that
How about you? How are you doing and how was your Thanksgiving?
I had a nice Thanksgiving in Connecticut with my S-I-L and her family. Only bad thing was I had no internet yesterday so no babbling for me when I got back from S-I-L's house.
I'm glad you had a good day with family; what happened with the internet connection though?
Nef, I typed "Peruvian Brandy" into Reverse Dictionary and the closest thing to letters in grid was "pichi" which isn't in the grid. Can I please have another clue for that pi 5/14?
I got 8 inches of wet heavy snow and there was an outage.
Did you ever see a TV show called the c**** Kid? Just change the first letter to a P
