May I have a clue for the second in6/18 please?
goodness, am I alone here tonight?
Hi Flosey - just here for a few minutes now - I have 2 in 6/18 but haven't used lickety so don't know how many there are!
No I have 3 of them!
cooee and g'day from me
Hi Rose :)
And hugs
I don't like this grid as much as yesterdays!
{{hugs}} liz girl
flosey, 2nd in6, to be assertive, ie, i in6 that you call me rose
OK, I have that one!
I don't have any i before that! So many vowels today!
thanks Liz, had just stepped out for a minute
agree Liz, this grid is moving very slowly for me
Yay! Have greyed the 6/6 i box! Shame about the rest!
Me too.
i think it's because of all the vowels. yesterdays grid had a nice balance of letters.
I agree - found the last 50 or so hard - strange words but this one.....!!!
stats for the 9 pls?
ne9/60
ne9/60. it's a plural
Thanks - will search.
Found it! Had the unsex words, which are similar.
No I don't :( found an ne 8 and thought it would plural. It doesn't!
Even then it was ne 7 - I can't count today!
there are 5 'unsex' words, well they all start with the same four letters.
OK - thanks for that.
and that's the only hint you'll get from me unless you ask for more.
ne6 plurals but isn't related tho starts same - ne8/45 plurals
Found the 8/9 - thanks to my star trek days!
Wild guess - wouldn't have spelt it like that!~
well done liz....i doffs me 'at to you
Lol! Pure luck. Haven't listed or anything yet, so feeling quite good about that.
So wanted asinine to be a word.
so4 of describes this grid a lot...lol
Yup! That's what I thought.
me too
LOL - always good to know I'm not alone, when I don't like a grid.
Nowhere near half way yet.
nor am I
Love your icon, Flosey - totally describes the way I feel about my voice.
I use to sing in the church choir, for years, now I'm thinking, at least I was a warm body there and moving my lips
LOL! I only used to sing when I was alone. I now sometimes inflict my voice on my hubby!
lol, flosey. when i was at school it was compulsory to be in the school choir, and have singing lessons. my closest friend at that time, who was an absolute treasure, she could sing like a nightingale. me.....she quietly told me....i had the voice of a frog...
in grade 7, teacher decided our music grade would be judged by having is sing in front of the class - if you wished, you could sing with someone else - my best friend couldn't carry a tune - you can imagine.....
Time for a shower. BBL - hugs to both of you.
hugs liz
later, liz. hugs.. and lol flosey...so4 of like the debacle when the school tried to make me take part in a drama production.
I was very shy and hated doing anything in front of the class - next was the speaches, I actually got sick from worrying about it
i was perfectly okay, up on the stage, doing ballet...anything else....forget it. i just froze, my mind completely blank.
I didn't have any problem playing piano during opening exercises, those of us taking lessons took turns playing for the National Anthem
at that time, it was God Save the King
Oh Canada later became our National Anthem
i remember with my ballet, i was wrapped up in the dance and music, i never even noticed the audience.
good morning all
good morning Sprite
*sigh* pure bliss...{{hugs}} my dearest, sprite. lovely to see you.
*hugs* Hello dear friend :) Hey flosey :) *hugs*
sprite, i wish i had taken a pic of my physios face when she viewed my x-rays. no more land based exercise, pool only...
at least they can all treat you in an informed way...
how was your night, dear? and what did you get up to yesterday?
yesterday? Laundry, toilet, some knitting, telephoning with instances, walking dog, talking things over with Caya. My night was bearable. How about you? How are you feeling and did you have a good day with your friend?
yes, dear june arrived at 1pm. she is so good. has started clearing the weeds out for me, and because i had someone to chat with or not, i achieved a bit too.
lovely :) Am glad you enjoyed her visit.
and i finally dug up all my tulip bulbs, to discover they have trebled in one season.
hehehe good bulbs!
some are very small...i think i will persist and plant them out also next spring.
oh yes, give them a chance. They can be very strong and dedicated, them tulips :)
sprite i was in tears this am before physio. and on the way there the left hip was so so4.
oh my darling :(
its okay, hin. i was overdue for a good cry.
sometimes it's a good thing - clears the head, etc
*hugs rose and holds her close* Just cry yourself out, my friend.
that is true, flosey
did i tell i checked the date on the current box of endone? june for goodness sake. how can i be addicted if i have made 20 tablets last nearly 26 weeks.
wow, I'd say that's pretty darn good, rose
told you exactly that, remember? :) You are fine, doing very well with managing your pain meds. Doc is just overly careful.
I must get to bed, after midnight and a full day ahead, goodnight ladies - will try to get the last 104 here and there between other stuff
or not!!!
night flosey, I hope you sleep well :)
sweet dreams, my dear flosey. btw, thanx for the email giggle...lol
lol, thought a little interjection would lighten things
loved it, flosey. thank-you so much
is 'unsil' the same thing as 'defang'?
i wish....put it in the dictionary
hehehe too specific for the dictionary, I think. Just a wink to you.
;-)
think I'll make a curry today, with rice and veggies. Easy does it. Any super easy but delish dessert ideas?
we received our christmas card from fang. all it said was...to rose and don from merrilyn and paul. i think that is quite indicative of just where don and i are on her list of need-to-knows.
we are having freshly picked raspberries and icecream. ( courtesy of june)
she so needs to be kicked where it hurts
ah well, it means we don't have to be subjected to her foul-mouthed friends on christmas day.
I need to move to your neck of the woods. We can't pick icecream here in any season.
good morning.
roflol....you silly dill
oh, oh, oh...{{hugs} ruby
do you usually celebrate at her place then?
DIL is gone and the house is quiet again. Unfortunately I had barely any time to look at yesterday's JUICY GRID
hey ruby :) *hugs*
only as it made the mil happy.
peace, perfect peace, ruby.
I had to get up at 6AM to take her to the Geneva bus, but at least I didn't have to drive to Geneva. It was the first time I'd driven in the dark in a very long time
good thing then, sweetie. You and Don go celebrate the way you like it, with the people you love to have around you.
good job, ruby
She was a perfect houseguest except for talking constantly.
She was a perfect houseguest except for talking constantly.
It is nice to be on here so early and to see my good friends!
yeah well, there can only be one Cass, ruby ;)
what??? sprite doesn't talk non-stop?? this i gotta see/hear....lolol
no no, Sprite speaks only when she has something to say and it is always interesting! No bla bla bla
believe me, lol. I can be si6 for quite a bit. I like the silences that can be between friends.
moi aussi
oh good sprite....i like those quiet times also. they are so comforting.
ruby and I shared quite a few comfortable silences.
I agree, rose.
ooh, just found ro** in the grid, duh
hehehe
bbl, dinner ready. xoxox
enjoy, sweeite :)
bon appetite!
the trees here have all gone bare suddenly. The hard winds have pretty much ended Autumn.
we're having harsh wind today, too. But we've been lucky as they've predicted snow which hasn't materialized
we are having lots of hail atm. Very nasty rain that turns icier and icier and then changes into hail. Brrrrr.
horrible! We just have wind and cold sunshine today
even Terra, who loves a good storm, wants to stay indoors, lol.
the dogs are very frisky in the wind and they have so much fur that they're never cold.
Raffie looks very different since her entropion surgery
what is an entropion?
the eyelids turn in and the lashes infect the eyes. It's very common in chows
Ruby had it somewhat, but it just made her eyes a little weepy, so she didn't have the surgery.
ah I see. Poor things. Is he more happy now?
Raffie's was much worse and she had crusts and occasional pus.
But now she has stitches which have to come out in a week
*she
I don't think she was aware of the problem but it's very hard to put the ointment on; she doesn't want her head touched
at least that is usually quick and easy, removal of stitches
and the vet will do it. It will just be her to get her into the car
great service
hard* she weighs 29 KG
omg, lol. That is more than 3 times our Terra.
and Rufie is about 36!
that is a lot of dog! especially when they both try to sit on me when I'm on the floor. I have to brace myself against a wall
should be careful they don't suffocate you, lol
and when they start to roughhouse with each other, running in circles, I have to get out of the way
I don't want to be knocked down by "flying" dogs
ugh no
yay, half
but no biggies or nbt and Burt needs me.
See you later {{sprite}}
bye ruby, have a good day :)
phantom: nutrients
and back....oh my....those raspberries....
hehehe :) Look, there is our rose... the one with the full belly :D
you're not wrong. started with chicken and cashew honey soy egg noodles.
yummy :)
I am gonna be brave and go out for the groceries after babble. Once everything is in the house, things won't look so daunting. Am too tired to cook, rose :( I want to sleep, and laze about.
how about a lie down and a nap before you go out, hun. set the alarm...
I thought I might get the groceries, then lie down and take a nap, then cook.
good point, then you would be refreshed before you have to cook.
yeah and it is easier to sleep knowing I don't have to go out anymore.
i see the point....no demons waiting to tap you on the shoulder.
you got it :)
fireflies. Nice grid. Good words.
WTG SPRITE!!!
I give you a big *hug*, rose, for tonight... sleep well and I hope you won't have too much pain. And to you all, a blessed day and a peaceful night.
hope your day is kind to you, sweetie. xoxox
good morning everyone:)
Good morning, another big one I see
good morning, sukee, crossy
ahh, there is life:) Morning, ladies:)
I forgot to put some dry food down for the cats to nibble on last night, so I awoke at 4 a.m to the sensation of a cat licking my eyelids:(
I made the mistake of trying to fall back asleep, and the next time I awoke the cat was standing on top of my head:)
I know the feeling. I'm trying to cut down how much I feed my cat and he bugged and bugged and bugged me.
only one out of our three cats are hefty. the other 2 are fine
Mine is actually trying to gain weight but he eats too much and throws up :)
The food has always been there, trying to change that.
yup, portion control training:(
Check the ingredient list on the bag of dry and make sure corn products are not first on the list. They just poop it out and there is no real nutrition in it, just filler.
We like Iams for the dry food
for the wet food the cats are more flexible (as long as it is shredded and not pate)
His food comes from the vet
ouch.. good but expensive
Yes :) He had urinary tract problems in the past and needed CD, now he also gets a wet ID for his intestines.
last time we did that it was $1.75 per tuna sized tin.. yes the low ash food
One bad of dry used to cost me $90 and was good for six months. The wet food is more expensive.
Bag that is
fortunately our current three cats like drinking water and are not prone to UTI's or crystals in their urine
our first kitty shredded her insides due to crystals in urine.. was quite an ordeal
we use $25 of dry a month and 40 dollars of wet a month for three cats, and roughly $40 of litter
so, $105.00/month to maintain three cats(
Whew.
Anyway, have to run.
anybody stull here?
moi
bonjour, toi! DIL is gone, but I've just received a huge bill from the IRS for 2006 and 2007. I feel like writing to them and saying "Are you insane?"
ruby, we do a trivia quiz called Learned League and one of the answers is Chow Chows. Beautiful picture of 4 of them
There's been a lot in the news media these days about U.S. ex-pats being dunned by the IRS
in total, they are asking for more than all the money we have PLUS the house etc. It's ridiculous
The IRS will haunt you forever, even if you renounce US citizenship
I can see why you can't return to the US
as sit is, they take 15% of our social security every month. At that rate it will only take 561 years to pay off the debt
It is ugly and weighs heavy all the time.
I'm afraid to travel as I have no idea if I'll be arrested at an airport
Ruby, if this is indeed the fault of your husband, and you had no knowledge of the taxes not being paid, you should look into something called Innocent Spouse Relief.
I tried that a long time ago, but couldn't do it because he put most of the money into my name
The IRS is too hard hearted to take mercy
Sheesh ruby
now he remembers nothing and is fading, and I am stuck with the bad guy hat!
gm, everyone! help with the st6/18?
hello ibd

he has basically ruined my life

I am sOOO sorry!!!

kitten on the keys.
I am cleaning my keyboard and did not notice my cursor in the box!!! OOPS and many apologizes for this
well, at leat you're not a troll...lol
no problem
I am so not a troll...mostly a lurker with a now very clean keyboard...you should see the dirty q-Tips, lol
I need to do that too
mine is full of food.
crumbs galore! lol
if it's just a keyboard...pick it up, turn it upside down and shake
I do that frequently, phae.
mine's a laptop...usuaolly gets clean when i take it somewhere
clue for the en6/18, the first one
Funny we should have ne 6,21 today as Jacula took her 3 kittens for just such a procedure today.
I only have the going in one.
anagram of the 2nd en6/18
my keys were gross looking! I am sure there is dust/hair/crumbs and fiber from yarn lurking with in the laptop. SHUDDER!
out of sight, out of mind.
The newer keyboards are closed around the keys and don't allow things to drop inside. I highly recommend them if you like a clean keyboard.
interesting, Molly
I will look for that when I replace this one. Who knows when that will be?
Must move on. see you all later.
12 bucks from Amazon, it's an inexpensive replacement
Thanks, Molly!
is it available in laptop form?

it's pretty wet down here
I saw animals walking by in pairs yesterday
Ruru: very funny....
lol - no damage in your neighbourhood, I hope
Sympathies to the wet and soggy. : D
We're just on the very edge of the pineapple express -- had high winds sporadically yesterday, but not much rain. A lot of fog today.
The islands and Vancouver are getting the brunt of it -- I imagine it is pretty wet on Salt Spring Is. where Jill and Flosey live
May I have a clue for the IS 8 please?
Hi, yes, it is wet but sunny here this morning
oh - glad to hear the worst of it has passed, flosey. The pictures on last night's news weren't pretty!

ty luv
You are too kind but I am probably older than you at 63. I only remember the good night moon story don't remember the good night song you are referring to.
lol - marc - you are almost 20 years younger than me
not - 20 - 10 years younger -- looked at 63 and saw 53
OK I will give you that but you sound much younger than me
It must be the Canadian influence
What are the stats fro the 9, please?
Such a charmer, Marc :-)

Jaxx, you still here?
I am lurking. lol
Just popping in myself. At daughter and sil's having an early christmas with Swedish relatives
But saw your post about health issues and wanted to wish you well
A worldwide family eh? very cosmopolitan
lol, yes it is now
Will be having christmas again in August when son's family come home for a few weeks
I had a well woman check up and several things showed up. After three weeks and several blood tests, the last today, they now think it is my parathyroid. Hopefully they will wait until after Christmas is over to give me any bad news. I find Christmas very trying as it is.
What are the tests for?
Excess calcium and a chemical I can't remember.
Just had a quick google of parathyroid. Hopefully it can be removed if that is what's wrong
Initially it was kidneys but the test didn't show that. Now they have still found excess Calcium so it is an indicator of parathyroid problems.
I am always full of problems when I 'speak' to you. You must think I sit in a corner wringing my hands.
How are your burns now?
They are still an odd colour when it is cold but I can stand warm water now so taking a bath and doing washing is a lot easier.
No, I just know some people have a rougher ride than others
I seem to stagger from one small crisis to the next. How are things with that lovely granddaughter of yours?
I'm lucky enough to be having smooth ride at the moment
She's 11 weeks, found her voice and how to turn over!
You have had your ups and downs already. 2014 seems to be a difficult year for me. Hopefully 2015 will be better.
wait until she can converse in Mandarin!
Yes, I believe it will be a better year for you
Got to go now, speak soon. Take care x
and you x
Hello
Hi, Annie
hello jaxx, hope you are feeling well
anyone have a clue for is 8 ?
Not so bad. The hand is healing well and the family, touch wood, are quiet.
jaxx, glad the burn is healing and things are quiet. Lovely.
It is a chemical annie, starting with the chemical term the same.
thanks, jaxx
I am multi -tasking: playing babble, chatting, making Christmas cards and catching up with TV
found the is 8, thanks
Good.
You are SuperWoman
it will be OK until i start giving words away and sticking things upside down. lol
hello trip to the mall yeilded nothing suitable for gifting. :(
Hi TO. Worry not, you have 12 days or so to go.
jax, don't encourage my procrastination. :)
Hi Owl, Have you considered ordering online?
try fancy preserves. I have a friend who buys something unusual every year. We wait to see what she will find each year
Hi all - back to try and finish this bitey grid.
You could knit hats or scarfs in fancy yarns.
no. i need to see and feel things. there are no specific requests for things of that nature.
HI Liz :)
Hi, Lizlin
Owl, then it is back to the mall.
hello, liz
TO needs ideas for Christmas presents.
yes, i really don't mind the mall, i just need to make the trip productive
i have two gifts. need four more.
Not a lot of help there - don't celebrate Christmas. John Lewis (UK store) used to have lots of interesting foods though - different oils and jams etc.
Browse on the net. Select some ideas and then pop to the mall to enjoy a hands-on experience.
That's a really good idea, jaxx.
How are your burns now, jaxx?
ty , it will work out in the end.
i am knitting away like a mad thing at the moment. I managed to get Ashley's Christmas sweater finished the night before Christmas sweater day.
All ready for Hanukkah Liz?
Christmas sweater day - was that a school thing? Cute idea.
Just about Molly. There's a big Chanukah in the Park celebration on Thursday - we usually help out there.
It is healing nicely, thank you. It still goes an odd colour when it gets cold but I can now stand warm water so I can bathe without a rubber glove and do the washing.
That's nice, Outdoor celebrations are usually very festive.
BTW my spelling of Chanukah was not a criticism of yours! That's why i hate transliterations - so many variations! That often catches me in the grid!
We've had huge storms this week, so hopefully the weather will be settled by Thursday.
Glad to hear that, Jaxx.
and there's Hanukah, too.
It is a Save the Children Charity thing. Adults can join in as well. Ashley wanted a penguin but I couldn't find a pattern so he chose a snowman instead.
So many, Annie!
What a lovely thing to do, jaxx.
I usually just spell it whatever way the dictionary I'm using spells it.
lol - about right.
My daughter and family are coning down on Sunday. So potato latkes and chanukah gelt is in order.
Do any of you ladies knit?
hora, horah, tora, torah!
I guess we'll make latkes too and I'll probably have a doughnut at the park celebrations!
tref, trefah, traif and then there is non-kosher
Annie, I made latkes the other day. So good.
I do not knit.
I once knitted my brother a Spurs scarf, when I was a kid, then discovered I used the wrong blue! Haven't knitted since then.
Molly, Latkes are manna from heaven.
Those too, Annie.
Spurs being a soccer team.
When we were hard up in the 70s I used to make Aran sweaters for extra money.
So many recipes - all depends on where your family comes from.
yes, that's true, liz
major mistake there Liz. My late son favoured Arsenal but bought his own gear.
My recipe is pretty basic, being a shiksa and all that. : D
It was but it was such a warm scarf that he sometimes wore it hidden under his coat, when he was at matches.
Shiksas (hate that word) can cook Jewish too!
Well it was a half success then. I still have Tim's awful Arsenal hat that he never took off even indoors.
Shiksa is a term of endearment from a good friend of mine who is Jewish. He refers to me as his "Irish shiksa" : D
Ours was definitely a Spurs home - still follow them here in Aus and occasionally half watch a match.
I dont like that word either. Molly is a good cook.
OK Molly - I've always found it derogatory but when a friend uses it like that, no problems.
Molly, yes, it can be used as a term of endearment from a good friend.
Like many things, it's all in the way it's said.
Hint for or 6/7 pls?
Liz, China, Japan
or the Express
The mysterious land in the east and pl
Duh! How did I miss that? Thanks both :)
I think that is going to be my swansong, peeps. I have one last card to finish and then I am off to my bed. Night all. Take care all of you.
Sleep well, Jaxx.
Night, jaxx
Done. Would anyone like a clue before I leave?
Still have 66 left here, so not yet - not sure what I'd ask for! Enjoy your evening.
Thanks Liz and enjoy your day. Bye.
heya babblers
Hi pip
how are things, lizlin
rite
oops, sorry!
All's fine here - and with you? How did your interview go (did I remember right that you had an interview a while ago?)
sorry it couldn't be an interesting or useful word\
lol - towards the end of the grid here - 30 left.
i did have an interview in late november. it felt like it went quite well, now just waiting to hear, might not know anything till january...
Wow! That's a long wait.
trying to think positive and yet not jinx anything, bit of a balancing act
Good luck. Think positive without getting hopes too high!!! Is that possible?
that's the goal. i want this one BAD, but trying to not get too down if i don't get it, because it's so much my dream school that i know it would be unrealistic to assume it's a done deal
I'll think positive for you too!
it's the #18 med school in the US, they get like 1800 applicants for 30 spots, and interview 300 of us
so the odds are against me, but i made it pretty damn far already!
yay positive thoughts, i like those, thank you!
Not good odds - but to get an interview is fantastic and they must've liked quite a bit about your application. Hopefully they liked you too - can't think why they wouldn't.
;D
i did my best to be charming and enthusiastic
And knowledgeable too, I'd think ;)
i really think "assiest" should be a word
I tried that - I bet most people did.
i keep seeing anise and it keeps not being there
Tried that too - more than ones. Also anil.
and sizzle
No, I didn't see that one - lol.
that's just me then
well it's cold here and i have the radiator hissing behind my head, makes one think of things sizzling
Good luck with the grid - taking a break to work on photos from our UK holiday in June! Making a book. Have a good evening.
enjoy!

Here in the dark Northwest the storms have moved off and we are on a clear, cool night at home Babbling. Put up some festive lights today. Remembered why we sometimes leave them up year-round. If we get them up, they may be there for long after the winter holidays!
