oh, my....zooz. we are watching 'would i lie to you christmas' it is so funny
I think Rob brydon is such a funny person.watched him when he did a live show on TV. he was hilarious.
Another person who is always on that show. Lee Mack is also a very funny guy. He has his own comedy series called 'Not going out'
hmmm, must look that up.
A lot of my posts do not seem to be showing..Strange.
Will try again.
I am off to do other things for a while. To those who celebrate Christmas hope you have a wonderful day.To those who will alone for Christmas i send you a big warm hug((())) A bit soppy but hey ho. Toodle pips for now.

good morning
good morning ruby
hello, westford. I'm happy to see you
I'm happy to see you too. I have been trying to remember your black dog's name..the one who was found in the pond
I think he's the one in your profile pic
{{hugs}} ruby. nice to see you westy
hi rose it's been busy around here
that was Max and he'll be my avatar forever Now I have Ruffio (Rufie) and Rafaella (Raffie) and Rufie is the most beautiful and affectionate of all the 7 chows we've had over the years.
{{rosie}}
Max. I was trying to think of another R name
Ruffino* (can't type thisAM)
and my first chow was Rosie, back in 1990
all the R dogs were red or reddish
I wish I had known him and all your chows
Rufus was another red one and Cleo was another black one
the current ones are the best and, since they are only 11 months apart, they are best friends
they all look like big fur hugs
they are amazing and each has his own definite personality
Rufie is the only one who gets on my lap all 80+ lbs of him!
I had watercolor portraits done of Ruby )RIP\) and Rufie for my husband's Christmas. He'll be very surprised.
and you must not be more than 80 lbs yourself
what a beautiful present
no no, I'm up to 105!
time to go on a diet then..NOT
haha
It's all new muscle bbecause, as husband gets less able, I M DOING MUCH MORE STUFF
whoops, sorry for shouting
keeps you young and agile
agile, but not young any more
I think you are younger than me..I'm 69
71!
okay, you win lol
last time I looked you were 68 time does fly
actually, I'm 25, blonde and 6 ft tall with a phd in physics! hahaha
oh yes, I remember now
are you having Christmas-y weather ? we are having rain and wind and 60 degrees
it's just about freezing in the morning, so there's a cr*** of frost but then it's sunny and lovely in the afternoons. We keep a fire going in the living room all day, just to make it co**
thanks for the co** word
we can't even get into our living room..bathroom leaked, walls and ceiling have to be replaced and no one works during the holidays
on the bright side our daughter-in-law hosted family Christmas on the 21st
we are in the midst of maor "refreshment" but the electrician promised to fix the lights in the kitchen this afternoon. I'll believe it when I see it. The painter (his friend) messed up the lights but |I am trapped now and fear I'm being taken for a ride
it's the same the world over isn't it ?
and it's all that much hARDER INfRENCH!
I'll bet it is
oFF TO LUNCH, SEE YOU KIDS LATER.
{{WESTFORD}}
happy Christmas eVE TO EVERYBODY!
bye ruby big hugs
{{ROSIE}}, IF YOU'RE STILL HERE
thanx ruby....enjoy your day, hin.
rose I thought you left
nasty hiccup. three posts disappeared.
I just noticed that
yay, and i am back. westy, i tend to sit quietly when two old friends are catching up, hin. how are things with you?
crazy busy and he has a 'man' cold
ugh on the 'man' cold.
I know poor thing if you have extra money to invest Kleenex might be a good buy lol
*giggle*
are you planning to go to the beach ? would love to experience Christmas Down Under
no plans as yet. we live in the edge of port phillip bay. the water is not the best to swim in. i prefer to swim in the open ocean. it is quite a drive to such a spot.
we are 30 miles from the ocean here in Rhode Island but in Maine we are a 10 minute walk
will you be seeing your kids and grandkids or do you do that on Boxing day ?
we do it on boxing day. i let them see their in-laws on christmas day, and i get the whole day with them on the 26th.
that's such a good plan
we get together for a picnic in a park, eat, drink, crack jokes, swap gifts. it is usually a great day.
we were down to 10 on Sunday..everyone has moved away
that's quiet.
Christmas Day will just be me, husband and my brother
brother suggested Chinese food but I told him we weren't going to do A Christmas Story..funny movie
just me and hubby here. still can't face a big fuss on the day. it is the one year anniversary for both our mothers,
that's right it's a sad time. my mom passed away this past August
it's hard isn't it, westy?
yes it is
the little ones don't really understand though so we make it happy for them
I'm down to 50 left and I think I'll try to get some sleep..nice talking to you rose
Have a very Merry Christmas and an even Merrier Boxing Day
sweet dreams, westy
thanx sweetie. i wish the same for you.
Good morning, happy Christmas Eve.
It might get up to 12C here today :)
hello sukee....a white christmas for you?
Nope. But I don't mind :)
They said it might be warmer today than it was at Halloween.
Hungry now, going out to breakfast in 3 hours...
a piece of fruit perhaps, shouldn't hurt the appetite much.
Yes, I may have a banana.
Are you all ready for Santa, Rose?
as a matter of fact, yes!!! we spent the entire morning wrapping up all the children's gifts.
Happy Christmas eve everyone:) Though it does not feel like it. it is quite warm today and supposed to go up to 8c later on.
food all ready. cards written.
Hi Crossy.
whoot!! g'day crossy
howdy sukee
((rose))
Hi all
You can almost hear our ski resort operators wailing in anguish from where I sit:(
Hi Liz.
howdy liz
{{hugs}} liz girl
I'm all ready for my Doctor Who marathon :)
Lucky you Sukee. I'm looking forward to the Christmas special, which shows on Boxing Day here.
Hugs, Rose
I'm going to watch it on the BBC tomorrow.
Was about to email you, Rose, to wish you and all the family a very happy Christmas.
I guess because we're ahead of England, we have to wait until Boxing Day.
awww, that's so sweet, liz. thanx for that.
lol, I love the Dr. Who fan club in babble. Last show I saw had a Dr. Who with an afro, and wearing a harry potter-type scarf, so it is funny when i think of it:)
Ah yes, Tom Baker :) He is one of my favourites.
That was Tom Baker - many moons ago, except for a cameo for the 50 year special
tom baker!! he is one of my fave dr who.
The Tom Baker era is when I really got into the show. I had always known about it and watched it, but didn't become obsessed until then.
We used to see him in action on our old Channel 17 which was the public broadcasting network. they used to cut the show into 12 minute chunks and beg for donations between scenes
I like Peter Capaldi now - a much darker Doctor than others recently.
Me to, David Tennant had become a favourite but I am loving Capaldi's Doctor. He has a great dry sense of humour too.
I watched the very first series with my family and have watched most since then, tho I did take a break and missed out on Sylvester McCoy.
Also really liked David Tennant.
I had a toy dalek when I was a kid :)
That was the same place I used to watch Magic Shadows with Elwy Yost
Yes, I used to love Magic Shadows and all those great movies they showed.
My cousin's son used to go to any and every kids' party dressed as a dalek.
Actually, Doctor Who is the first TV show I remember watching.
Clue for ov 6 / 7 pls?
Sorry, have no O words yet.
OK. Thanks anyway.
ov6, ov + most of number before two + In Charge
Thanks, Rose.
lol, don can actually list all the dr who's without hesitation, and in order of their appearance.
Hate to say, but so can I - but not the dates of the shows!
I'm not that obsessed :)
And I might have to think a bit around a few of them.
No, could do it without hesitation!
Stuck on my final 8 words. Think I'll leave them until tomorrow. Good night all and if I don't see you before, Happy christmas.
Have a great Christmas too.
Thanks and enjoy Doctor Who :)
You too :)
oooooh are we talking about doctor who? I ordered a doctor who scarf for my husband for Christmas.
nighty-night everyone. pillow time for me. apologies for being so absent. happy christmas to all who celebrate, and to those who don't enjoy the silly season. xoxox
I'm back, did I miss Rose?

Hi Annie, how are you feeling today?
Molly, I am starting to feel better.
I am so proud I did this whole grid so far with no clues from the chat room or from asking or from using A to Z. Now I am stuck on my last ic5/14 and no it is either going to hard to clue or very obvious.
Snape was the po7 master at hogwarts
no7 is the pl of the no6 an idea
in7 in+ the outside of bread
ic5/14, please?
Where did everyone go?
ic5 ends the same way as fe5 (baby in the womb)
no f's in this grid
thanks Molly, good clue
marc, molly is referring to the end of the word, not the beginning
Sorry don't get the clue
I didn't say the fe word was in the grid. I said that ic ends the same way. If I spelled the word out, I might as well spell out the ic word
you are correct but I still don't get the clue I am sorry it is my last word of the grid
ic5 ends the same way as fetus
ic+ elephant's ***k
I'll head on over to the PB now
ic + consonant + not me but all of **
I
Thanks I tried that before and it didn't work. I feel very stupid after a great grid

HI car. :)
Good morning, all. Yeah. Rain is the precipitation of the day here too.
And here. Will be 60 degrees tomorrow. Yuck
Yuck?? For 60 degrees???
Hi Judi, rain here too, all day
Not on Christmas...should be chilly
Yep. Weirdly warm Christmas.
Okay but I'll take warm weather in December whenever Ma Nature decides to serve it up.
Deal
Amen. This rain could be snow and then we'd be buried.
Mental note: Remind Car of her "warm weather yuck" when she's up to her keester in snow
LOL
Just think of all the kids who will get bikes and skateboards for Christmas and can actually go outside and use them.
<---- boys getting skateboards!
Not to mention all those remote control cars for the D̶a̶d̶s̶ other kids
make note to take back all toboggans and snowshoes...:(
I never bought my kid a bike for Christmas as it seemed evil to get him something he had to wait five months to use, but I guess the winters of old are passing:(
You can still have snowmobiles and yeti shoes, Crossy.
<---- would love snowshoes!
The new ones are great, car!! Nice and lightweight:)
So cool!
<---Loves "yeti shoes"

not yet. Tomorrow.
aren
aren't you ahead of us in time? It's Christmas Eve day here in the states
ar7 clue please?
yes we are ahead of you. It is 4 pm here, not yet Christmas Eve.
ahh...tomorrow is Christmas. I get confused on the time and days as my daughter and her family are in Japan and they are even further ahead in time.
yeah. The Aussies are much further ahead as well. Then Europe and finally the USA. Not sure where Japan falls.
about 14 hours ahead of the US so about 9 hours ahead of you.
so.... then it is Japan first, then Aussie, then Europe and then USA. Babble can be confusing :)
lol...I get it straight on New Years Eve...just watch them all in order
:D
mlfan: ar + negation + not from
when i first started playing babble i thought it was at midnight for everybody but for US 1am and not midnight:)
Sprite why isn't it Christmas Eve where you are? In England we're only an hour behind you and it's Christmas Ever here.
too early, ChrisP. It isn't even evening here yet.
Oh - we call the whole day Christmas Eve
I call it Christmas Eve day...lol
ty sprite
same difference on the name lol it is christmas eve day:)
it is different here. The day before Xmas is mostly a normal day. Shops are open until dinner time. Then after dinner it is considered Kerstavond = Christmas Evening.
pretty much the same as the US sprite
but some stores are open late on xmas eve
I think some are here as well. Especially grocery stores. But our local ones close at 6 pm tonight.

Santa just flew over Kuala Lumpur. I hope all the kids there are asleep.
Do you call the people from kuala lumpites?
I don't know, but the people in Lusby, Maryland call themselves Lusbians : D
Lumpers?
Everyone drives motorcycles in Lusbia?
Probably a lot of dammed up water too I bet.
Lots of pride in that town
Little kids with muddy fingers
I am in some kind of pre-Christmas daze. I think I have made everything but a figgy pudding.
LOL.. I bet.. I have a feeling your house is totally geeked out with Christmas decorations etc
No, I don't go overboard. I do a tree and decorate the mantle. A few other decorations here and there. I've seen it a lot more elaborate. Someone here said they decorate every room in their house. I don't have the money or the stamina for that.
I don't think I believe you :D
Cos is the Christmas geek in this posse.
oh.. I miss having him around
I think snitz should be a word. What bitchy women make for Christmas...snitz cookies...
isn't that a german dessert snitzel?
schnitzel is a veal cutlet.
and MerryChristmas!
Oh.. a politically incorrect german dessert :D
yup!
Isn't Schnitzel the name of Arnold Swarzenegger's illegitimate kid?
could be. lol
ah.. I best get my show on the road.. before the freeways are a nightmare
It may be already
I have to be back for dinner tonight and i'm guessing the freeways are going to be packed.
It's a madhouse out here.
have a nice Christmas eve hego and Molly..thanks for all the laughs this year
Am wrapping presents for my grandsons. You know what I like best about books? They don't require batteries!!!
you too!!
And are easy to wrap.
Merry Christmas, everyone!
To you also Molly.
Off to lunch, bbl.
Hi Mimi, Merry Christmas to you as well.
Thanks, Molly. Just popped in for a moment. Hope you have a lovely Christmas. Back to wrapping for me!

still only 2 of the 7s.
help out there at all with clues for 7 letter words? pretty please?
no6/7 idea(s)
ar7 = ar+negative+opp of from, co7 = plural of transmit, in7 = in+outside of bread, na7 = sleep inducing, no7 = ideas, ov7 = plural of electronics property
po7 = mixtures
ty Knight, looking for the ar and co
got the co6/7 ty
ty for na
ty knight. i got several. i am missing ov, na, and co if you have any further clues.
not seeing the ar7
if i could, I would co 6 the co 7 to you
ar + negative word + preposition
i keep thinking communicate.........hmmm. transmit by what means knight? radio? phone?
ar i got. great great clue.
carry
got it! ty. super great clue.
got the ar. I was confused since you said negative ion
mkg, think of a long line of trucks on a highway, then change the last vowel
ty
how about the na 7? sleep inducing. is it a medicine or chemical?
missing two of the 7's
the na7 is an adj
no7 = night related
are there two no7's
i have na5 and 6. but dont see the 7
ok add a vowel to the end of the 6 and i got it. ty ty ty
so still missing three. hmmmmm
drug agent + sugar suffix
got the na as well. so two left.
ty for all these super clues.
anymore coming? i am missing two of the 7s still but they werent clued.
oh well. off to change clothing
which are you missing
I am missing two of the 7's but don't know which ones. they were not clued
i thought i clued them all
but not knowing which ones you have and don't have I am not sure
pu7...starts like the color of your icon, Peri + ends like p5...don't get in a p5, you should calm down and enjoy Christmas
good morning :-)
just went through the chog -- no idea what the electronic property is
just went through the chog -- no idea what the electronic property is
oh dear -- an echo!
monkeyed the ov -- still missing one 7 and have everything that has been clued
can't find the ov Merry Christmas, nan
aaah, ty monkeys
ends like what you mix with gin, ruby
I monkeyed it, but thanks. (and I mix gin with water -- very bland drink)
ty Nan.
Do you have the pu7?
yes
hello hego and Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas Ruby and Nan.
molly's clue, starts with the beginning of peri's color
pu 7: take the it out of strictly saintly
ends with what you shouldn't do if you run out of food
I was wondering if that is the one Nan is missing.
I'm Italian. We never run out of food. lol
good night
Night Ruby.
It's just us and there'll be enough for 10. Thank God for dogs
That's what I'm saying. :)

not getting the clues for pu7
pu + faster than walked + most of frozen water
think of early religious settlers in US, take out the it and end with most of frozen water
*!* ta da *!*
Merry Christmas, everyone :-)
merry christmad, nan!
Anybody still here?
Hi Scrabs, I'm still here working on my last 14
Hi LWG. I just passed halfway.
well let me know if you need any clues
TY
just finished and am heading up to get the mail before it gets dark, good luck and Merry Christmas!
2nd sc5?
sc 5 - I think of a dog dragging his bottom on the floor
Duh, thanks.
or if you add a er at the end it's a kids wheeled toy you push with one foot
15 to go, but I finished the 4's. Maybe I will be back later.
Stuffing made, veg prepped, trifle done. Prawns defrosting. Once-a-Year china, Waterford Crystal & Newbridge cutlery gleaming. Candle lit in theront window to indicate that there's room at The Inn of Soodle. House as clean as it's ever gonna be. It's time to open a bottle of festive cheer, I think.
That would be the 'front ' window....
*Thinks bottle of cheer is already open*
Ye Gods Molly. Not untill what needed to be done got done. And now's that time. Slurp....
When there is a lot of doing to be done, it's better to lubricate the doer. What's happening for Christmas Eve?
Will you have one or both of the lads with you tomorrow, Molls?
Hopefully all 3 o'dem. And the girlie too.
Yay!!! How's the health with her?
Better, for now. *Fingers crossed*
Very happy to hear that. May the 4 of ye have a lovely day! Re lubrication of Soodle.... I'll self lubricate ( that just sounds So rude) when all my all my jobs are done.
So, no word about stockings all hung by the chimney with care, so this must be all about a clean house and a show stopper dinner. Has Mother Soodle arrived, or is Santa dropping her off?
And we are 5, last time I counted.
I only have one no7 (ideas)
It's almost 10.00pm here. The stockings are hung. The mince pies & glass of Guinness for Santa, & carrot for Rudolph have been set out. Mother is being collected by daughter of Soodle tomorrow mid-day. A visit to Geanda in the nursing home & then down to me. I can't wait. 5?. 2 sons, one girlie in law, one Molly. Who have I missed?
A night-time piece of music, Peri - No 7/36
ty Soodle
And N + portion of circle + last 3 letters of nasal aperture...
I have 3 sons. And tis a shame you will miss my annual rendition of The Irish Night Before Christmas.
Good Lord above! I had always thought you had 2 boys. My bad. And to the Son Of Molls I had discounted - abject apologies! Feeling foolish now.
Molly, may 2015 bring us the wherewithal for me to witness your performance of The Irish Night Before Christmas. Be it here or there or somewhere inbetween.
And now, the neighbours have just arrived ( which I need like a toothache ). Gah. They better not make a mess. Poof
Twas the night before Christmas And down the glen lane The candles they twinkled In each windowpane
I guess there is no room at The Inn Of Soodle after all.
Inn of Soodle sounds like a horror movie
<---afraid to take a shower there
The Inn of Mimi would likely scare you as well, ruru.
...it often frightens me!
The Grand Soodle Hotel is probably jumping right now. Her neighbors came by to tank it up on Christmas Eve (Soodle will tell you they came by for a prayer meeting)
LOL!! Soodle was the hostess with the mostest! Sweetness and light, that was me. And no, Molly, they came, they had a drink, they dispensed gifts and they went off on their merry (!) way. All is calm, all is quiet.
Oh, okay...um...Round yon virgin....
And, if I may.. Can I suggest that if you guys only listen to one Christmas song this year, let it be this one..http://tinyurl.com/lbt5ozq
That one is too sad. I prefer Boyz II Men's Silent Night
The acapella one
No no no, Molly! When son of Soodle was about 5 or 6, his teacher told me this story. She was asking the class to identify the characters in the crib. Jesus, Mary, Joseph, the angels, the shepherds etc were all correctly identified, until my Paul was called upon. He pointed to a statue, and said - Thats John Bergin! The teacher was mystified. Who? She said.. Pauly says.... Like in the song.... Round John Bergin, Mother and Child....
I'm listening to Maddy Prior's A Tapestry of Carols right now - with medieval instruments - just my cup of tea
That is priceless Soodle
I wish I was there too matty
True story!
Well, I'm in the bedroom with earphones in - it's not anyone else's in the family's cuppa
*Gets dulcimers, lutes and legs of mutton out for Matty and Saan*
My idea of heaven (though I'd go for lamb rather than mutton - I have expensive tastes)
Yeah, so do I. But not the income to enjoy them.
certainly mine taste, and so is Molly's additions, except lamb not mutton, thanks Molly! Appreciate the sentiment
How have I missed this album?! It's superb.
we are wishing Molly, that's all. Luckily we have Salt Spring Island Lamb here year round, at reasonable prices
and maddy Prior is so amazing, all my albums left with my ex (sigh)
A glass of sherry would be perfect right now - I have some, but I think I'd get disapproving looks from my brother, his wife and my daughter. Families can be fraught and I'm apparently the annoying black sheep of the family if brother and (adult) daughter's behaviour is any indication
hmm that is a situation familiar; brave you for having them all in. Is there anything lke hot rums they would enjoy without censoring you? Bummer. Have your sherry and a good mouthwash after
I'm at theirs in the US - my mom died on the 16th so I came over for that - my daughter then decided she'd come (in truth more for Christmas with her uncle whom she adores than anything to do with her grandma's death - not to say she didn't love grandma, she did but as she got frailer Sarah had less to do with her especially given the ocean between us)
I was here when my mum died (I came over for that) so at least there's that (I'll put the self pity stick away now)
wouldn't it be Mimi Motel?
You two are making me laugh. I always think of sherry as an old lady drink.
ah.. poor molly doesn't know about great sherry.. in spain it can be wonderful with dry sherry and mussels and clams
And I am amused that Matty travels with it.
I only drink it at Christmas (Amontillado) - it's kind of tradition - my folks used to drink it
Matty considering what you have been through you deserve a glass of sherry, sorry for your loss
it can be a revelation to have great sherry molly.. not the horrible stuff that most people serve
I don't travel with it - it was in mum's house which we are slowly clearing - there was an unopened bottle
Poor Molly knows zippity doo dah about wine in general.
LOL
I know about wine.. but need to learn more about zippity doo dah
IN defence of sherry: sometimes I think I'm an old lady! When I was growong up it was an honour to have some. Perhaps you are thinking of sweet sherry? The Dry Sherries are amazing
And Ru, I will trust you that there are better versions of sherry than the swill I have tasted. *Think Trader Joe's 2 Buck Chuck*
For the love of god, Fortunado (kewpie doll to those who get the reference)
yikes
sherry doesn't need to be expensive either and it lasts forever
I love dry amontillado sherries..
Do you always drink it out of those teeny weeny glasses?
yes..
Less of the weeny, maybe a bit of the teeny
Well all I wish is for matty to have a good slug and continue to enjoy maddy prior, merry christmas matty
weeny glasses are in SF
of course
:D
when they toast in the City of SF.. they always say pecker up!
*observes a moment of silence for the horrified lurkers*
I am restraining myself with difficulty from making even more comments, worse than ru's
oh.. sorry
I like to work over the lurkers
actually I waS ABOUT TO HAVE A LOT OF FUN WITH THAT BUT RESTRAINED….whoops caps sorry
Heh.
Let us all remember that Matty is the one who said she was going to use that word that means flopping around the next time she saw her boyfriend naked
what's that word?
*now wants to know what saan was going to say*
Haa! I'd forgotten that
Now, what was the word? It was a great word
....waiting...
I don't know Matty. You are the one who said it was a keeper. I don't even like to use the word "premature" around men.
Well, I hope Soodle has put her butt in bed because Santa is heading her way.
Pint
Crap sorry
Wampish - that was the word
she's having sex with Santa Molly?
that Irish vixen
Ssssshhh Ru, dammit
GREAT word matty!
Well that all depends on how much fun you have in mind. I have a feeling that after using the word wampish to a naked man, fun goes right out the window.
Yeah - mine wasn't impressed ;)
unless he's playing creature from the black lagoon with the maiden thing
oh wampish :D
I have 64 words left (not opened the list) - finding myself distracted by chat, music - haven't got a word in ages. I am still at 0 for the I in the first column, the O in the second, The R and U in the last
Got the R
And the I in the first column
up4 is the u
the other u is Ur 6 relating to radioactive material
or a planet
need to take a nap.. I'm taking myself out to dinner tonight.. see ya kids
have a grreat evening ru
Good morning and to all those who celebrate, Happy Christmas.
Final 5 words found, so hope you all enjoy your evenings.
happy christmas Lizlin, enjoy every moment
Thanks for the Us
hi matty, I hope you get this before your 'duties' begin; have a calm and peaceful time as possible, indulge in the sherry or whatever; it is the old pagan ritual of light returning, and most of all, enjoy yourself
Thank you saan. I opted for a beer instead - I shall take the sherry back to the UK with me and share it with my other half when we have our own Christmas dinner on new year's day. It was my mum's favourite brand and you can't get it in the UK - it seems more appropriate with someone who will appreciate it
And me.
glad to hear that matty, safe returns xo
Boxing day, we're all going into NYC to stay the night (we're currently in Bucks County near Philly) and then I'm going on Saturday to see my cousin in Boston - I shall enjoy that - let my brother and daughter be as sarcastic as they like when I'm gone
that sounds like fun! And an excellent fumigant from others' bad vibes, especially family! I have resorted to either going away or passing up on family Christmas, pretending I am sick, whatever, anything to get out of doing it All again as I have always done! Enough I say! Rellies can be the hardest. Have fun in Boston. Apologies about my complaints, it has been been bugging me tonight, of all nights. Keep safe from the bad wolves and have a wonderful time. And a happy trip home to the wamp.(kidding!!)
Happy Christmas friends. I hope you all have the kind of celebration that suits you!
Obviously, I have missed a lot of chat tonight but I am finally able to sit and calm down after a day full of visiting.
Hi there Bugs, it is so good to see you
Are you unhappy about something saanich? I have seen no complaints beyond normal ones for season
I may write to you, but to clear up reasons for my bad mood, I am going through nicotine withdrawal. AGGGH!
I am really sory for having brought down the jollity of such a special evening; my apologies but mostly MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!
ah.... smoking is SUCH a hard thing to give up. Worse than alcohol I have heard
worse than heroin
I am not unhappy. I just gave up on following traditions and do what I want when I want around Christmas. Traditions were great for the kids to give them a sense of family and living history. Now they are grown and gone and celebrating some they inherited and some they are just starting.
not that I have experience!
as an old fart, I don't have to please anyone anymore.
Poor saanich. Do write to me any time you like . I can't believe another whole year has passed without us sitting down together. My fault because I don't go down island nearly as often as I once did.
I think you and I Bugs agree and I look forward to the Spring Dinner with ru on SSI
are you using some chemical aids to quitting?
Do they help at all?
patches. (although stronger "chemic aids" have gently crossed and then left my mind! Are you going to listen to "THe Shepherd" on AIH tonight?
anyhow, I am sure you will make it through to the other side. I still remember vividly the last time I had a smoke. It tasted terrible so I tossed it in the fire and never took another.
Tell me about the Shepherd. I thought AIH meant Artificle Insemination Husband.
good for you bugs. I will make it. I quit a few months ago but but it jumped on me bigtime over christmas. No worries. I am forever a non-smoker, just haivng a bad patch
Keep the faith then. Bad patches kind of jump out and blindside you. Of course you will be cranky.
turn
As It Happens, CBC AM 690 here. It is read by the now dear and deceased Al Maitland. It is a story about a pilot over the English Channel lost in fog. It is ½ hour long and lasts in your mind forever.
AIH starts at 6:30; the story usually is about 7:30 or 8:00 --- CBC would have the details
Of course. Every time they give out their address they say AIH and I think, how unfortunate. I will listen. What time is the start? It is the Antoine saint- exupery story or have I misremembered that too?
I will check. Thanks for the tip
AND WHAT, ME, CRANK???????
hee hee hee or perhaps Ho Ho HO would be more appropriate
HA HA Bugs you are cheering me up! The original story was by Frederick Forsythe (sp?)
It sounds vaguely familiar in the deep recesses of my addled mind. I am looking forward to it now.
We will listen together then my friend. Have Merry Christmas..all of you xo
and God bless us, every one!
**hugs to BC friends** miss you, ladies!
Tom is here... down to 113! back later *Poof*
