Enable doesn't like dosh. Dosh is money - everyone knows that!
never heard it, Liz
Must be English then. Bet zooz knows dosh
dosh*
Teehee! I did try that one earlier too, Liz!
Hm! Computer auto corrects then changes the word back.
Slang word..like dough
It will take a plural though. Thanks!
Really - doesn't work for me!
oops - no that's the nightstick
ah, dough I know
Tanks for making me type it over and over, Lynxxx and geting no where hahaha!
dosh was used here too - but a looong time ago
Me too!
Thanks even.

WTG DEE!!
ty (((rose))) how are you doing?
hello lyn. and liz girl. where ya bin?
Missing you on babble it seems!
coping okay, i think. has anyone he4 ever had a cramp so bad it has torn the muscle.
What have you been up too - that sounds painful!
i had a cramp a few days ago, and my calf is so tender i can barely walk on it. i was wondering if it possible to tear a muscle in that way.
my mum used to get horrific leg cramps, but nothing ever tore
Hugs and sympathy.
you sure you don't have a blood clot?
Worth getting it checked out?
ugh, dee, don't say that!!! the thought is lurking in the back of my head.
You need to get it checked ASAP, just in case.
To the doc tomorrow then!
Or to the ER now!
i thought it would settle quickly. i have had bad cramps before. but they have never been sore for more than 24 days.
lol....hours, hours....
Side effect of your meds?
I had a blood clot in the leg, Rose, And it hurt like hell..if it is so painful you can hardly wal on it...then I would get it checked out...Was on warfrin for well over six months.
definitely need to get things checked out... shouldn't last that long
don't think so, liz.
Hope you get it sorted soon, Rose.
Taking a break here - back later.
will talk it over with don....ultimately he will have to do the driving.
Nice to see you, Liz.
Same zooz - not usually your time of day!
I'll be back in about 4 - 5 hours, I'd think.
Think i will take a break too.
Sleep well Dee.
No bad dreams got me up..lol
bye you two
now.
ty, liz, you, too *poofing with hugs* Get your leg checked, rose!!
That was supposed to be ..Bye for now.
Night all; have a great eve / day!!
sweet dreams dee. xoxox

okay....you use the letters which are next to one another. but the same letter may not be used in a word again unless there are actually more than one in the grid. for example although there are three s's in the grid, you cannot make a word with a double s in it.
oh my, amikap, how did you do that?
OK
welcome amikap!
THX ALL
the tile stats below the grid tell you how many words can be made starting with that tile.
ok
the word stats tell you how many words of each length are in the grid.
its acepting all new words 4 and above letters
g'day skheiny
each game is a day long ?
Above the chatterbox, who's online, my friends..is a help link you can click. It has a wealth of information on the rules of playing this excellent game. :-)
if you need assistance, please feel free to ask
yes, you have 24 hours to find all the words. so you can play, the go away, and come back later. all your found words will still be there
thats good
yes thanks
just saw archive .. champs here make 4000 plus points
so long as you come back to finish before 'flip' time. then a new grid appears.

good morning all
Hello, Sprite :-)
my lucky day!!!! {{hugs}} dearest sprite
*hugs zooz* Hello dear man :D How are you today?
Surviving..lol And you?
*hugs rose* Hello dear friend, just read your email, so great that you slept well! Will write back after babble.
waz the maxm opoint score u guys have made so far
aw zooz... what is the matter? I am fine. Slept through the night, not too many nightmares, getting over the flu.
hang on amikap. checking on lickety
hello Amikap, nice to meet you and welcome to the game. I think the highest was the 744-word grid.
ok.. i wanted to know points
yeah I know, must look up the points
i made wishers for 48 as max
the largest grid was 744 words with a point score of 13761
wits end by now :)
13,761 points
I am fine, Sprite..just had to get up eary today//not a good night dreams and that.
poor zooz. {{hugs}} mate
i meant individual word in this grid that must be total grid score
good job, Amikap. Only, please don't post words from the grid in the chat. Other people want to find them by themselves too.
oops
what does 18/78 mean
I know those nights, zooz. *hugs* Low on energy for today, poor man. *sending you a truckload of energy*
today's largest word is 8/50
it means there are 78 words of 4 letters length in this grid, and you have found 18 so far
Thanks, Rose & Sprite. But I will be okay..on the good side I can have some naps later!
ok tx
if you are talking about a tile stat it means 18 of 78 words have been found
as sprite said...
naps are good. Never would have thought I would love naps so much. Hated them back in da days, lol.
Rose have you told Sprite, about your leg?
*giggles* you and me, rose, you and me...
if i don't wear my CPAP for a nap, i may as well not had one.
ummmm....errrr....not yet....she's gonna yell.
ok. Tell me. Now.
i had a very bad cramp two days ago. today my calf is still so sore i am having difficulty walking. it doesn't feel hot. but it is very tender to touch and hard...i drove the car yesterday with no problem other than the knee.
no reason for me to yell, is there? Cramp happens, alas. And it leaves the muscle sore and hard for days after. Not related to the knee pain, I think. But it sucks all the way :(
Some of us also said to get it checked out to be on the safe side..I have had cramp lots of times and the pain does not last for that long..others did mention to get it checked out incase of a blood clot and best get it checked to be on the safe side.
checking is always best. Better safe than sorry and better err on the side of caution and all that.
it's just i don't remember the post-cramp pain lasting more than 24 hours. if i go to the doc, he/she will order an ultrasound. if i go to the emergency room, doc there may well order an immediate ultrasound without me having to wait until the department has time.
when I have a cramp, a bad one, the pain and hardened muscle last for days.
but going to the ER means waiting for hours, maybe. I can see your dilemma
i am gonna have don compare the calves. if the right one is hotter/warmer i will have him drive me straight there ASAP
good idea
sprite...if i tell them i suspect a DVT, they will move fairly promptly.
Well to be fair. The original question from Rose was can you tear a muscle from having a cramp which happened a few days ago.My thought being..if the cramp happened a few days ago and it still now feels like a torn muscle that is some serious pain you are having..Best get it checked out.
right... yes, that is a bad pain indeed, zooz. That is more than sore for sure. Rose, listen to zooz.
Jus thought I'd come back and say hi to you all :)
hi Liz! *hugs* How are you doing?
like i said, will get don to check it out for me. because my hands feel temps differently, i can't tell.
Cos I've missed chatting to you!
Hello, Liz And welcome back :-)
nice, liz girl. {{hugs}
and vice versa, Liz. Lovely to see you.
All's really fine here - are you feeling better Sprite?
welcome home :)
Saw Hobbit this afternoon :)
Another thing to Don to check, Rose is if one leg is a lot fatter than the other.
yeah, flu is subsiding for real now. Feeling lots better.
oh, how was it, liz?
how did you like it?
Mean of Rob to be so sharing :)
Loved it. Didn't have high expectations but really enjoyed it.
isn't it! I told him to give me more kisses and less bugs :)
3D of course.
Is the Hobbit in several parts?
Definitely lots of kisses!
Glad you are feeling better, Sprite :-)
ummm zooz....that would have to be tomorrow, as over the day my left leg swells more than my right.
awesome! I have seen it with the family too this holiday and we all loved it.
yeah, The Hobbit is in 3 parts, just like the LOTR.
This was Part 3. We originally thought 3 films too many but I can't see how it could've been done it less to get to know the characters and get all the grandeur.
I'd forgotten so much - I can't have read it since I was in my 20s.
precisely, Liz, I am right with you on that. It is well done, imo.
I emailed you Rose - did you see it?
the hobbit and LOTR are friends of mine that I revisit once every year. I can quote whole passages, lol.
I have LOTR & Hobbit in book form..love them!
I should probably reread them. I couldn't get on with Silmarillion though :(
same here, zooz. The LOTR in bible format too... just one book with very thin pages. So nice.
not yet liz girl, will go and check. xoxox
Yes mine is written on rice paper.
Not important.
Silmarillion is a whole other barrel of fish. It is more like a history book on the world of LOTR. I liked it, but it isn't an exciting read like the other books.
My parents bought it for me, when they saw how much I loved Hobbit and LOTR
lovely, isn't it zooz? I enjoy such books so much.
But anyway, right now, too busy reading Mercedes L - about to start Bastion.
yeah, they probably didn't know it wasn't a real story, Liz. If you start with low expectations, it is very informative and interesting. But if you start thinking it is another LOTR... ugh.
Just wondering if we have the same type of book then, Sprite. is your cover black inside a black case and the edges of the pages in gold?
oh wow! You are almost done then! We will need to get you another series, grin. Have you read the Sword of Truth series?
No, my parents did know that. They'd also read the Hobbit and LOTR.
No, I haven't.
no zooz, mine is green linnen, and no gold on the edges :( Mine is a dutch version, too. I have an english one, but that is in 3 parts.
awesome, Liz. I'll make sure you will get them. They are awesome.
Thanks so much - you're keeping me in fiction!
Fiction!! you mean it is not real!!
for the rest of your life, if you want, lol Liz. I have so much. I read a lot, and I am happy to share.
Shhhh! don't tell everyone it IS real - let them stay in the darkness.
they just call it fiction to spite us, zooz
LOL
Sounds good to me but I plan on living a long life!
so do I, grin. Let's stay friends forever :D
Best idea! Sorry - just reading Rose's replay!
reply*
no need for sorry, grin.
Get yourself over here to Aus!!!
I think I would love to. Who knows, once Rob is eligible for pension.
I told Rose about my iPad frustrations with listing. That hasn't improved. In fact it's got worse. I now lose the list if I go to another tab or if I don't use the page for a while.
oh man, that is frustrating! And I cannot help you at all, I never owned an iPad.
Someday I'll sort the glitch out - or apple will. I love my iPad in every other way.
and there is no babble expert for apple, alas.
Also true, which is why I go as far as I can, then leave for a while, come back, get more words then list!
Is that more words or morewords or both lol
probably i had better not enter this discussion re ipads...or ianything. i have a very low opinion of apple products. but that is my opinion...and i will not shove down anyone else's throat. each must make their own decision. and i will not be judgemental whatever they decide.
hehehe best way to play anyway. A bit of a challenge to the brain makes us feel so smart when we manage.
More ........... words - morewords only if I'm totally stuck
*hugs rose* Everybody has a right to my opinion, sweetie... errrrr... yours.... errrr. theirs I mean!
Oooops - totally apple here Rose and love it. IMac, iPhone, iPad!
* giggle * sprite....
But agree - each to their own!
and rose... on the other hand... computers are like airplanes, you know. Whatever you do, never open windows.
LOL
:)
love it sprite
*grin* It is a quote. Wish I had thought it up, but I haven't. And I am a windows user. Because that is how I started and I am too lazy to make the transition. But whatever the issues are with apple products, they can't be worse than windows, which is one barrel of bugs.
Fireworks for me.
Congrats, Zooz.
wtg zooz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sprite: Did you hear about the cleaning woman who lost her job at Microsoft because she wouldn't do windows.
We both went Apple, when our old desktops died.
Groan - lol
My washing is done..I hd better take it out of the machine and tend to it.
ugh....you want me to put don on with the subject of windows?? it really is trying to find the leesr of two evils.
lollll jwr, no I hadn't. Good one!
*rolls eyes* nice one, Jwr..lol
sorry, liz
WTG ZOOZZOOM!!!
way to zoom!
exactly, rose, lol. I am with Don. But still using it anyway.
please read...lesser
jwr...chuckling he4
Toodle pips everyone...Hope you all have a wonderful day..and for those on the otherside of the world a wonderful eveing..bye for now.
Enjoy your day zooz - keep warm :)
byt zooz, have a lovely day. And lovely naps too.
don was a guinea-pig for windows new version. after a week he told them where to put their new version.
Time for me to leave again (keep leaving at same time as zooz!) We really are on the opposite sides of the world though!!!! Hugs :)
xoxox zooz. enjoy your day
I stuck with XP until it was taken out of roulation. It was the only stable version. But I have to say, windows7 isn't at all bad.
hehehe Liz. So you would have us believe. *hugs* to you both and have a lovely evening/night
xoxox liz girl
oh, for something completely different and unimportant... I have such pretty nails today! Mine were splitting all the time and I stuck on stick-ons last night. Am enjoying them so much.
nice sprite. what do they look like?
they are a bit like a po4 version of a french manicure. Natural nail colour, whitened edges, and with a little extra white line, and tiny flowers in subtle brown in one corner.
I'll try to send you a picture, grin
oh, lovely
i am fortunate...my nails are so strong i have to use toe-nail clippers to cut them. that or a horse-rasp....
oh wow, how lovely. Mine haven't been great the last couple of months. Kept breaking and splitting. No wonder, knowing how low on vit.D I am.
fang is gob-smacked. she has never seen another set of fingernails as strong as mine.
Better strong ones like yours than catty sharp ones like hers ;)
I found a dwarf!
ooohhhh....meow, meow....lolol
hehehe true, that was catty. Hiss!
ah well, if the fingernails fit....mind you, when don and i visited christmas eve she was definitely a little softer.
all the more reason to keep an eye on her
fireflies!
don's older sister is battling melanoma...i really must push him to go over and visit her.
WTG SPRITE!!!
oh how awful, rose, I am so sorry. That is such a vicious kind of cancer :( I have lost quite a few friends to it.
yeah, let him visit her. Much better force himself now, than forever feeling rotten about not seeing her in time.
yeah, it may well be her last year with us...after the medical panel i will encourage him even more.
tell him I visited my mother and intend to do so a couple of times a year from now on. Not for her, but for myself.
it's very strange....don's relationship with his siblings. i am the one who tells him to visit/contact them. he never thinks of it on his own.
ok, am off to answer emails. *hugs* to my friends :) And to all, a blessed day and a peaceful night.
isn't that a guy's thing, rose? It is the same here, with Rob and his friends.
{{hugs}} my dear friend. i hope your day is nice to you.
sh
hellooo...anyone he4?
nasty hiccup
ahem...as i said...np's i hope all enjoy the grid..xoxox
Good morning.
good morning everyone:)
Hi crossy.
See you later.
HIYA
grannyrose still at the grid
just back
hello everyone
Prest
Slow chog this morn:(
hello?
{{crossy}}
((ruby))
I am still feeling sick about the Paris attack
It is a terrible thing to be sure:(
aere
seer
seers
sorry, I had better be quiet....
All because of a satire magazine posting a comic that offended someone:(
hi ruby, hi crossy -
terrible day for France and for all of us
howdy jbv
and in yesterdayday's issue, I read in the paper, they questioned Jesus!
what do you mean, ruby questioned Jesus? who?
Just imasgine Catholics, murdering journalists! That won't happen
Charlie Hebdo. They poke fun at and question everything. They are totally irreverent and funny and satirical.
The magazine is allowed to question. They deserve free speech as much as the next person
yes, of course, that's what a satirical magazine does
And France is on the forefront of free speech and secularism
but I'd be careful about saying that Catholics are not murderers
not lately, anyway
well, we're having a conversation here (in the US, that is, listening to talk news, etc) that when insance terrorists cause mayhem here we never talk about their religion unless they happen to be muslin
muslim
we've had Timothy McVeigh kill 160 people in Oklahoma, people did not link it to his religion
that is true, of course, but like McVeigh, they are paranoid anti-government types
I'm interested to find out more about these three individuals - who are they, what are they connected to, etc. r
Timothy McVeigh did not invoke the name of his God as he murdered people.
right now there's not much info
I didn't even know about it until |I watched the news at 8PM
good morning friends
*Passes Trif a steamy mug of hot cocoa*
hello trif
holding one now, molly, wishing I could be sitting in it!
hello ruby!
Is your school open today Trif? I read that the Boston schools were closed.
warmed up 10 degrees here, it is all the way up to minus 14c:) and the wind chill is only minus 20:)
-10c*
yes, we are open today. Many of the children in boston walk to school, thus the closing.
Its a nice, fat, round ZERO here today. But hey - it's New England - what did people expect, 70s?
0 F.. ok I remember, tis minus 18c:)
Yes, I have read that "walk to school" logic before. Shame it doesn't take into account the many kids who stand freezing waiting for a bus that may or may not arrive.
though I must admit, it was gaspingly cold when I left the house....found tertiare curled up asleep on the couch, in front of a fire she built in the night...sweet girl
amen to that molly - I passed several on the way here, in the next town over, and they looked truly miserable
gm, everyone. clue for the first po6.24?
po6 fancier?
one before that, ruby.
:(
ty for the attempt, tho
One who does, sounds like loud sound
One who does form of composure?
not getting your clue, Molly. the po6/24 before striking a po4 for the camera
one would have o have p05 before striking a po**
I got it molly, thanks!
only po 6 I have is "ring around the rosie, a pocket full of po6/21..."
Oh, I clued the wrong word. po6/24 ends with the first three of the high official in Iran
Hi all. Could anyone help me with my last two words? I need rh6/27 and he6/24?
rh6...combine the first word of a US State and the first two of frozen water
Thanks Molly. One down...one to go
thanks molly! you are ALL ABOUT the clues today! :)
i must be really dense today, I'm still not getting your clue, Molly.
for the po6.24, that is
po + ge**** girl, harem dweller
LB, think of what the head of Iran was called before the Ayotollas
Can anyone put me out of your misery with the he6/24?
he + f*** swim in water + vowel
That's it - thanks Molly (again)! I gather it's cold over the pond - hope you're all wrapped up warmly
It's one of those grids where if you type random insane combinations, they work. Not exactly a vocabulary builder though.
oi! that po6 had be going all over the place. thank you Molly and Matty!
bell is going to ring....see you laters, alligators!
Tadone!! finito!! head feels like it's in a vice
Let us all bow our heads and be grateful for indoor plumbing

hi again
hi river how is the new hip (from one bionic woman to another)?
oops - guess i missed her
Hiya, Babblers!
hi judi
hi judi -- really quiet in here this am
I guess so.
I was getting some red boxes.
hi folks
Sounds like a personal problem, mixi!
58 left and stuck
Just found the 8 and its relatives. *chuffed*
2 left.
it's cold outside. It was 10 when I got up this morning.
Cold everywhere it seems. Only about 16 here in Delaware right now.
just looked. it's now 20.
hi peri, mixi -- I had just stopped to eat breakfast when you came in
Judi, nice of you to fly the French flag in solidarity
Ah. Global warming then!
Ty, Molls.
Get with the times Judi. The Global Warming people got laughed at so much, they switched up to "climate change"
solidarity with france? --what is going on -- been out of circulation for 3 days
Still just 5 degrees here
Meh. Who can keep up with the latest henny penny buzzwords anyway?
Terror attack on a satirical magazine office, Nan. All over the news right now.
: D Judi. Every time I post THE SKY IS FALLING in a global warming thread they get all verklempt.
oh wow -- haven't watched a newcast since I got out of the hospital yesterday
Uh oh. What happened, Nan? Are you unwell?
The sky is not falling, it is overheating. *passes out foil hats*
had to stop and look up verklempt.
Ha. Cat thought he wanted to go out. I opened the slider. He took one sniff, turned around and retreated to the living room.
I think his little whiskers froze.
I'm just a schmuck.
Kudos to Mixi for actually putting her computer to good use : )
I closed the cat door last night. Figured to keep a bit more heat in.
does anyone have a clue for the rh 6?
rh6 starts like an American state and ends with almost frozen water
ty molly
...of or containing rhodium, especially in the tetravalent state...like anyone uses that word...
FW
Right. Tetravalent. The 51st state.
Good news! Hubby gave me tech and travel for Christmas. I just booked our trip to Phoenix/Tuscon for March. Wheeeeee!
Desert warmth sounds real good right about now.
Oh, that is ever so much better than a garage door
lol. I have to agree.
Please tell me the tech was a new computer
A Dell tablet. :-)
I got new pots and pans.
Whooo, Mixi!
Oh, my father learned a lesson the hard way with the pots and pans thing. My mother's reactions was "What? Am I some kind of old tinker?"
One thing if you ask for them, quite another if the hubby thinks it's his own good idea.
Husbands rarely have their own good ideas. *Shudders remembering the fugly green bathrobe I got one Christmas*
Ditto, Molly. We established early in our marriage that my husband was to never, ever attempt to buy me clothing of any kind. It was a horror show.
we got a new kitchen a couple years ago. Now I guess I need to learn to cook. Been looking at cookware for 6 months.
Smart plan Judi
As I recall, it was a pink, green and yellow rugby shirt (about 10 times too large). It was quickly returned to the department store from which it was spawned.
my mother in law gets me T-shirst. Anything else and I have to try it on.
Oh the irony of it all. I cook all the time and I have no new kitchen. *Sniff*
now if hubby would just eat it.....
sorry -- you have to wait 50 years for one of those!
LOL...my husband bought me the most amazing winter coat last year and this year, two pairs of boots! I'm wearing one right now at the office and the other pair was a pair of Uggs. Yes, I'm spoiled but he has good taste...
You are one of the lucky few, Krysten.
Yes, it must be nice to be spoiled
Admittedly, we spoil each other because we can...no kids helps and both of us are fortunate enough to have our health and good jobs. All things that I'm grateful for.
he 6/24, please?
he + last three of what you do with a rod and reel + vowel
They are Native American beads, but this dictionary can't be bothered to define the word
I have the ic4. What does the other i start with?
io
Ty, Farmer Brown.
Farmer McDonald, rather.
Who the hell is Farmer Brown???
Sorry, the E is in the shop
I don't know Judi. Maybe he is the guy in the dell.
ty molly -- was called away for a moment there
*!* ta da *!* - thanks for the help :-)
Stuck with 54 left. Have to toss a load of laundry in and then go get my eyeballs examined. See y'all tomorrow! *POOF*
off for another snooze -- still getting caught up, I guess. see you at the flip - hagd
night 'nan
Greetings from the relatively warm Bay Area
Lucky you, Bich.
it's all the way up to 3 right now!...yea!
oped
oops!
Wow, the Amazon, the Bay area, our Bich is quite the traveler
Couple of Father Browns. The one who marries the couple in Winter Wonderland and the mystery solving one by Chesterton.
Yes, but after this we'll be at home. At least we're not at home now
Sorry, mind obviously elsewhere.
It is Parson Brown who marries the couple in Winter Wonderland
Hi All :)

hi from the frozen north
hello from worried France
((ruby)) What a tragedy.
Ruby, so very sorry.
No first amendment in Paris, France
I'm sure there is some version, Annie.
Just people who have no respect.
There probably is. And terrorists.
So awful.
France has always been on the front line for free speech. But the news is making me weep. Charlie Hebdo waS GOING TO PUBLISH AN ISSUE CALLED "cHARIA hEBDO" (THAT'S HOW THE French SAY SHARIA.
bUT THEY'RE PUBLISHING AN EDITION OF 1 MILLION COPIES NET WEEK!
sorry, I didn't mean to shout
Paris has a large Muslim population, I'm surprised they print things like that.
That's the point! Charlie printed the Danish cartoons that were so controversial. The journal publishessatires and skewing of all religions not just Muslims
Interesting.
They make fun of this wonderful pope and raise questions about Jesus. They're fearless and when their offices were fire-bombed for publishing those cartoons, the editor (who was killed yesterday) said that he'd rather die than live like a rat without the right to free speech
It's all very upsetting.
|Has the mosque fire in |Lyon made the American news yet? Lyon is just an hour away
very upsetting. I hope it doesnt cross over to the US. There was a rumor about targeting the NYC police dept.
I havent heard anything about the fire.
They had better be careful about targeting the NYPD. They fight back!
And what about the shootings south of Paris....a young female police officer was murdered
Haven't heard Ruby.
Good!
It is making me sick
I typed "good" for hego's post.
(I know)
America has a large Christian population and yet there is plenty of satire printed about Jesus.
and you don't see Christians targeting journalists
Christians aren't supposed to be into vengeance.
I really don't know why people are supposed to tiptoe around the Muslims.
Everybody here is afraid of the Muslims and my friend just called and thinks this is just the beginning
ruby, that is exactly what I am afraid of.
yes, annie, all of us are afraid.
If I may jump in, I think what we need to be aware of, predominantly, is the fact it isn't "muslims" in general that have psychological issues. Each religion have their own extremists, it's just a small minority of religions - or should I say splinter groups of those religions - that have dangerous tendencies. These splinter groups are the reason that muslims - in general - are feared. Muslims are, as a whole, one of the nicest groups of people around. Just sayin . . .
But still they will not police themselves or report other Muslims.
I agree, worzel, but what is going to happen here, I think, is that the far right is going to start attacking innocent Muslims who will, in turn, become radicalized and further isolated
hego the thing that proves that the splinter groups really don't care is the fact that the policeman killed yesterday was muslim himself
Maybe not Ruby. Most people are reasonable. (I hope)
I don't think they checked ID's
That is very sad Worzel.
Trouble is, ruby, radicalisation isn't just a religiously internal thing - it is spread by fear and paranoia which, in turn, is fuelled by the media
True
Unfortunately, the far right here has been gaining strength anyway and this will just fuel their movement
One thing I hate is that somebody is judged by the way they look for example anybody wearing a naqib (facemask) is feared. The fact that 99.9 per cent of muslims can be identified by the fact they look like muslims should have stopped the gunmen in their tracks to stop and think "Hey, maybe he's a muslim brother - we'll spare his life". No, they just fired indiscriminately at him because he was trying to stop them
If I may jump in.........one way to fight the fear is what some groups in the States did after 9/11........Muslims and Mosques were being attacked, so many groups surrounded these mosques to protect them and those attending
Where I live has changed so much since I moved here in '98. Whereas you rarely saw a woman in even a headscarf and the local Muslim women were friendly, now they wear scarves and sometimes even hijabs and don't make eye contact.
Yes, why is that? I have noticed that here also.
We used to shop at a halaal market and were friendly with the whoe family and, often, with other customers
I find it aggressive
They probably don't make eye contact because of their beliefs which is why they wear the masks in the first place - modesty. I don't think anybody should worry about who lives where. If you look at the deep south of the USA 150 years ago a black person was seen as an outsider. Again, down to fear, paranoia and ignorance. Please don't think I'm calling any of you ignorant though x
It's part of the paranoia, I think.
that's not the cae with other women, worzel, that is just with men
The women in the butcher shop used to give me their recipes
My ethos is - and always has been - I am a citizen of the world and we are all human beings. We should all live where and how we want as long as we do not break the law and do not hurt each other
sorry, worzel, I think that's simplistic even if it's a nice sentiment.
Now if we could only get everyone to think like that....
Je suis Charlie and I'm going to bed.
Bonne nuit, mes amis
Good night dear Ruby.
sweet dreams, ruby
Au revoir, mon petit ruby xx
tMerci, mes petits
I do hope I haven't upset anybody
nope. :)
hops
oh crap, sorry
lol Worzel
have to say i do not like this grid at all
Some are more fun than others.
Later...
bye hego x

thanks, Molly, would not have seen that one

One of those obscure foreign monetary references that Enable is so fond of
** finito ** last word CE 4/6 another foreign monetary unit (from Ghana)
interesting comments in the chat - but I do wonder what planet worzel has moved to -- in the deep south a person of colour is still considered an outsider!
*not by all, I must add, but by many.
can I have a clue for the first HE 6 please?
