hey GR
I am down to 71
i'm down to three but lost now
go ruru go!
just started!
down to 69 but have to be up and out early tomorrow, have to go up to Nanaimo for a funeral
hi ru and stid!
bb after dinner tomorrow
hey saanich and flo -- sorry about the funeral ((hugs))
diz can I have a hint on the un8?
never mind
that has to be the stupidest word I've ever seen
hey stiddy
wow stid you are up late!
I am, mcurl, but was so sick I slept from 8 last night until noon today... Better now, so ate a little and will be asleep soon.
how are you? I hope this cold of mine didn't get transferred to anyone else... Tom is okay so far, and so is Grant.
poor stid. xoxox
you needed the rest then and I'm glad you feel better
*note to self: start calling stid "sniffles"
Yes, I did. But lost a perfectly good day! LOL will just take it easy again tomorrow and catch up on Monday.
*coughs delicately in ruru's direction*
*sprays bleach in sniffle's direction*
thanks, ruru, your kindness will be long remembered *grin*
don't mention it :D
my Tom made me home-made cream soda! It is lovely for cool, rainy days like today. He will bottle the next batch of beer tomorrow... he is loving this foray into brewing.
Sounds like he's hoppy
I think so.
my hubby loves to brew his own beer as well!
I'll have to bring you a bottle of this last batch -- a Christmat Wit.
It's a nice hobby -- thanks to Grant, Tom has rekindled this. I am not a very big beer drinker, but Tom has an appreciation for the chemistry. And I love the microbiology of it.
I can't drink beer it gives me headaches
I don't care for it either but D enjoys the brewing. He's hoping to eventually take the plunge and concoct his own recipe
I found that the gluten-free beers are more palatable for me, perhaps because they are wheat-free. I also know that I am not all that fond of hops. :-) Someday, I want to try mead...
May I please have a clue for any 'ar' word? Thanks
well.. that kind of eliminates a lot of beers stid :D
ar + not pencil
Thanks much, ru.
yqw peachie
it really does, ruru - I have a few favorites from the "Standing Stone" brewery in Ashland, and a couple GF brands, but otherwise I avoid beers.
I have friends that live in Ashland I should ask them if they've tried it
I suspect they have, they are a very good restaurant. We always take my grandfather there when we visit. :-D
I kind of like that area.. it is a bit hippie-ish though
Yes, it is. But that is why it is comfortable for me -- and my grandparents. They once lived on a commune a little ways north of Ashland, but when they got older they needed access to more services. Because of the free spirits, the town has many restaurants that are safe for me to eat in!
I bought a nice jacket there a few years ago.. visiting my friends..nice weather there
maybe someday we can meet up there -- catch a couple plays, NOT drink lithia water *classic yuck face* and enjoy the scenery.
maybe
there's good music there too in the big theater..
:-) sounds like a possibility, then.
well, I am down to 50. I think I will head out and leave the rest for tomorrow.
**choclits for all** *poof*
nite
Hi all
hey ya dianne
How are you, Rose?
good today, thanx dear. and you, dear?
I am good thanks. Have you finished?
clue for any 8 please
yes dianne
Then how about a cllue for the un 8?
jenny, pe8 is a plural. pe6/24, persons + *ed, colour
un8/55. un + persons
thanks rose
ruru was right 0 stupid word. Thanks.

dianne start with the abbreviation of representative, re* + brown colour + *ea or coffee
Thanks - I don't think I've seen that before.

Byr Rose - have a good night.
night dinne. did you finish?
ugh...dianne
Can anyone give me stats for the E in the fifth column, second row?
ET4
whoot!!! g'day zooz and matty.
Hello, Rose :-)
How are you today?
Howdy!
I'm still in bed with my third cup of coffee - Jeff's gone for a bike ride. I may shower before he gets back. I may not
ET4 is a volcano, Matty.
zooz, all goood today. and you, dear friend?
matty...lol...like your style.
Thans Zooz - a common Babblet
good morning all
We're off to the movies later to see The Theory of Everything. Last week we saw the Imitation Game - I think this may be the first time ever I'll have seen two Oscar nominees before the Oscars
Hello, Sprite :-)
{{hugs}} my darling sprite
they are both sensational matty,,,we saw one after the other too
Hope you enjoy, Matty!
*hugs rose* Hello dear friend :)
Hello, Rolin :-)
*hugs matty and zooz and ro*
i am waiting for the medical panel's decision before i venture out.
Phantom - potato
ohhhh. rolin, dear...how are you?
phantotato
lol
im good rose...and you?
good as can be, rolin. taking the easy way...lol
LOL Sprite!
;)
Punt is not allowed :-(
isn't it about bedtime, rose? On Sunday night?
Yes it is....
i have it zooz
ummm zooz, try again
try it again zooz.....
hiya Dachef :)
mornin'.
OMG! I put tried the first time and it did not allow it...Very sorry everyone!
I have gone red..and no one can see me..haha how silly is that!
Hello, Dachef :-)
don't worry, zooz :) This happens to me quite often. Always makes me feel so stupid.
I think its a conspiracy. Must be. How many times have you been mising one word from a tile and then you check the list and its a 4 letter word that you KNOW 100% that you entered first.
poor zooz....it's not your fault....you are probably typing faster than enable. your word is good.
oh, my, dachef....too true
gremlins in the keyboard! Yeah, that happens a lot. With me, it is either a typo, or words entered during a lag or the hiccup.
I agee, Dachef.I know I have entered a word..only to find it has not taken.
what sprite says....goes double for me....xoxox
isn't eparto one of those oddball words? reparto? something like that?
*hugs rose again*
sprite, esparto, dear
riiiiight, that one. Thanks darling.
Sounds spanish or italian to me.
*giggle* np's sprite
No idea what it means though.
I have a number of words I always miss... like ocean, asea, esparto. Vowel words, mostly.
I have four Us - all UNs - un5,6,8 and 4 - what am I missing?
*loves sprite's hugs* can't wait for the real ones...
Oh it is a grass..just googled it..lol
nm
Could have sworn I already entered it
lol zooz, yes. All the things we learn from babble!
wtg matty, pulling a peri on us
I am not a fan of AE words.
esparto....supposed to be a universal language....i failed in esparto
*giggles* Esperanto. Close, but no cigar.
me neither, zooz.
well duh....* hangs head*
*chucks rose under the chin to make her look up again* Don't, darling. You are in good company. We all do stuff like that.
*drags butt into pb*
hold it! You didn't pay your entree word!
Just thinkig the same, Sprite.
Scannning the chat log for the culprit..lol
:D
okay.....unpeople, un8
Thought I would chuck in an extra N there..lol
*ducks behind bullet-proof wall
lol rose
ROSE!!
call me wicked....
How naughty of you.go to the PB at once!
creative use of language, zooz. That extra n tells us how intensively you were scannnning
i am feeling very naughty tonight....don't push it.
Yo! Wicked!
LOL very good, Sprite.I'll take it!
phantom: atlatl
*looking very wickedly at don*
uh-oh Don, hide the banana or the monkey will get it!
HEY!!! who you calling a monkey??
You! *runs*
*too slow, no go* gotcha!
too true. Haven't been able to run since giving birth to my girl, lol. You are safe. For now.
phantom: aorta
*tickle, tickle*
I am not doing phantoms for a while. Last one i did I typed gallon.Tehn realised there was a word galleon.I promptly left before I could get shouted at.Did not return untill the evening..lol
awwww poor zooz! Don't run off like that again. Because A. it happens to all of us and B. a freebie is often appreciated.
awwww, poor zooz.
*snap*
oh, dear....zooz do you see something which sprite and i share?
up to the number of Ws, mind you
Yes I think you two are long lost twins..lol
w's are all good, sprite
exactly, rose. And yes zooz, we are. Born to royalty, bad stuff happened and we got split up and both placed with a wicked stepmother...
zooz, you are so close. sprite and i have discovered a closeness only available between identical twins.
See you both did it again//lol
deep-down we always felt the loss, but we didn't know... if it had not been for babble, we'd never have found eachother again.
*eye-roll* of course we did
always, lol
*shuts up* What rose says!
:-)
zooz, when don and i come over....you will be amazed.
the men will feel so excluded. They will be happy to leave on their canoeing trip.
following in twin fashion...what sprite says...
I can not canoe to save my life.
zooz, the only other woman who knew my thoughts and heart-felt desires died several years ago. sprite stepped up to the mark and has been sister of my soul ever since.
my husband is an avid canoeist and teacher. They will be fine.
*hugs rose*
Rare that happens, Rose. So it shows it was meant to be :-)
I bet it is great fun once you get the hang of it, Sprite.
we are so fortunate if we find just ONE companion of our soul's...we have found a second.
yes it is, zooz. Very relaxing and you see nature from a whole other perspective.
Yes I can imagine , Sprite. I did enjoy it when I was young and we had a couple of boats one being a long boat.It was wonderful.
sounds good to me, zooz! :)
to find two companions on our life's journey is extraordinary...not including our spouses.
ain't that the truth, rose.
Very true, Rose. Not found mine yet..lol
*smothers sprite with kisses*
you deserve one, zooz.
Although to be honest I am not looking either.
thanks ladies :-)
zooz, my dear friend....it is so when you never expect it...
I know, zooz... but that is when they might show up, you know ;)
lolol....snap yet again
lol
If it happens..it happens..if not..oh well!
zooz...it will happen dear friend....
with a heart as loving as yours, zooz, it would be a shame if it didn't happen.
This heart has been broken a couple of times before, Sprite (of which I am still suffering) very reluctant to let that happen again.
But still onwards and upwards!
good man! And yeah, that was me when I met my husband. Absolutely adamant not to let anyone close again, guarding my heart. But he was unstoppable, thank God.
It is nice to hear a story like that, Sprite. It does show there are others who are out there and right for you!
oh yes, zooz. Never doubt it.
Word couldn't be added. Please try again in a minute!! arrgh!
hate it when that happens
Where the hell did my post go!
Oh that one got through.
eaten by the server lag, apparently :(
I am not going to say much on here. But just to let you know, I am getting help for my PTSD with a twenty session programme. (post try number 2)
awesome, zooz. I know how hard that battle is. And I also know now that one can heal from it. WTG on getting help and good luck. If you ever need to vent, please feel free to email me.
That is a shortened version of what I posted.Could not be bothered to type it all out again..lol
Will do :-)
:) looking forward to it
zooz...i was divorced from first hubby in 1993...second hubby i have known for over 35 years. i hope you will not close your mind to older friends, mate.
fireflies
WTG SPRITE!!!
Congrats, Sprite!
That is great to hear, Rose! I will try not to :-)
xoxox zooz. you really are a sweetheart, mate.
thank you :) I think I will go answer emails. *hugs to you all, and an extra one for zooz and for rose*
OKay going to risk a phantom! : Operaters.
Toodle pips, Sprite.Have a wonderful day :-)
sprite....will look forward to your email. zooz...hope you have a great day, mate.
Sleep well, Rose :-)
106 words found - I think I now need the list
Good morning all.
Can anyone give me a clue for the pe7/32?
Believe it or not, it's an extension of the 6 before it
Nope, that's the 7/36 (sorry)
hi all
Hi sue.
Sorry, add consumed to the 4 before it
read back some. Zooz I met my fiance on Plenty of Fish online dating 8 year ago. I went through a few throw backs, but then i only met for coffee. Online dating allows you to begin the weeding process even before you meet.
*Gets more coffee*
Yes, and good for you, but online dating is not for everyone
true
I have several friends who tried it and had very bad experiences
yes molly, that is why i kept it to coffee for 1/2 hr.
i just dont drink and drive or want to meat anyone at the singles church thing. and i did not misspell meet.
i seems that here in the south where i live, you have to drive everywhere, meeting someone is harder then in NY.
And that is a smart thing to do. I have seen many versions of on line meetings, be they dates or just friend things, that rush right into overnight visits. And that can turn into something very uncomfortable with someone you have never met in person.
Thanks Molly. Could have sworn I'd tried that
That my dear, happens in bars all the time. That is why I will only meet people when I am sober :)
TITT (THought I'd Tried That) common Babble issue : D
I will risk the PB: couldn't resist trying "upwent"
lol in this game, you never know what will work.
Well, not just hit and run between men and women. I see people arranging to meet friends on line all the time and the first meeting is an overnight stay at their house. And it can turn into an awkward thing if the people in question are not the friendship match in person that they were on line.
That could end up in death. No, i just mean it a nice way to meet a potential partner. I did end up with a great many friends, end still cherish them.
hi sue, molly - I like TITT - is it trademarked yet (should be posted on Sprite's profile list)
lol
I was thinking the same thing jwr
I'm not sure I understand it. I mean, if you tried it then you'd have it, right?
I can see why you make friends easily, sue.
?
?
why jwr?
tried what molly
Anyway Sue, I'm glad you found someone nice and I'm glad you are careful about how you interact with people you meet on line. (Tried it meaning tried the word, as in thought I'd tried that)
my ? was for Molly.
oh.
I think that was about me - I said I could have sworn I tried a word - not online dating ;)
I think I got tangled up in three conversations -- typical babb.
it is also a great way to meet people how like the same things. eg hiking groups, exercise groups, camping... you get the idea.
lol matty
how many un words?
4
arggg
It's unfortunate that people so rarely meet those with similar interests at actual face to face events these days.
true
it is kind of nerve racking to go out alone
ok, i found 3 un words. 2 start with the same 5 letters one is un** itself
what are the stats for them. i have un4,5,6
I used to love to ask people their "how you met" story. There were so many romantic responses. Now, the answer is so often "we met on line"
do you all know the cat toys on the sticks, my kitten love walking around with the toy in her mouth and dragging the stick. If i take it off the stick, no go.
i guess you can look at online like a friend fixing you up for a "blind date".
Who knew, years ago, that there would be a way to fix yourself up for a blind date : D
lol
re 6/21?
Which one, there are three of them
there's also up4
i had a date lined up for Friday night 8/4/06 but got canceled. I had spoken to Dale and was planning on meeting him if my date didnt work out. Well the guy called and canceled, so i called Dale to see what he was doing. He was at the hospital in my town with his son, who was moving and smashed his toe, so i asked if while he was waiting we could meet. he said he was a mess and would meet later. I told him i had just gave my x's dog 5 flea and tick bathes and was a mess also. we met and i fell for him right then.
Five left. Can anyone help with the te7/32?
no sorry
i have 2 re6/21 one re**** is to say it again, one is to apologies for your sins. what is the last one molly
Just two left now - the te7/32 and we6/33 - any guidance available?
a gun is a we6
Oh, silly me! Thanks. Just one left
te7 starts like a kind of reptile with a shell and ends like a bit of DNA
which t matty
Sorry, it starts like a college basketball nickname for that reptile
I nothing utterly nothing about college basketball...
I found pe7 and 8 but can someone help me with the other 8s?
Last two re 6/21 and re 7/32 clues please
University Of Maryland
The start of the word sounds like a word for belch
The War on ***ror is never ending + write with a *** + e
ty joseph
Thats me done - thanks all!
congrats matty
Sorry, I try to go for clues without the ***
i clued my two re6's earlier
is *** bad?
hi all, just in for a few
hi gwen
hi sue
Can anyone help me about those other two 8s?
no, joseph - as far as I'm concerned, only actually spelling out the clue ("third vowel") is verboten, but everyone has their style. Molly's is the more challenging and it's good to start with that if you can.
not i joseph
W*ll, u*ing s*ars is a l*t l*ke sp*ll*ng th* w*rd o*t
I probably woulnd't start with that either but it seemed like a UK person wasn't going to get the Universityy of Maryland thing
Nothing is verboten here.
Ah! Nice word - te 6/21. My son had a girlfriend who he used to call Te 6/21. Or 'The Te6/21'. He steadfastly refused to tell me why he called her that. She was neither short nor stout....
I don't see that, Molly, since "3rd vowel" or "20th letter of the alphabet" is an exact letter but an asterisk can be anything.
well, any letter ...
bottom row done, woo hoo
Maybe she'd get all steamed up...
Perhaps, JJ. However, I always got the feeling he was being less than complimentary...
Soodle, let's just say he considered her a "source of comfort" and leave it at that. : D
Hmmm...
good morning everyone:)
Hey Cross :-)
nbt and i'm off, byeeeee
Molly, I agree that giving a definition (the cleverer, the better) is the best way to go and you're good at it, but sometimes it doesn't work, especially with cross-cultural vocabulary, slang or less familiar professional jargon. The person seeking the clue can always ask again, which is what happened with your reptile clue.
Good thing about cluing is that if you find it too informative, you can always turn the chat off until you get stuck. I tend to clue by definition, or a clever witty-style clue, but that is just me
There is no hard fast rule on it:)
bye gwen
Exactly, crossy. And putting the clue into context, as Joseph did, seems to be an acceptable as well - at least, I see it here most frequently. Of course, there's no hard/fast rule; that was my point.
what are the stats for the bottom corner T?
Yup there are many ways to the finish line
nm
I will take a stat for that if you found it sue:)
tick or tr5
lol ty and fish me
i thought the same thing when i found it
I will apologize, however, for using the word 'verboten' as far as "3rd vowel" is concerned, though I can't see how that could be considered a "clue" for anyone who knows the English alphabet and can count up to five.
oooh jwr, are those cats i hear fighting
not meeee - ow!
here kitty,kitty,kitty
but let me say, your writing is wonderful to read. It is so eloquent. i am not being catty, i love reading it even if i dont agree with it.
the u
sorry,my kitten is making me bonkers.
no, sue - I am guilty of bringing up the subject, but it is a pet peeve and I acknowledge it. Crossy spoke about turning off the chat, but I'm a very fast reader (usually I'm at work -- can do anything including play Babble when not answering phones) so I duck in and my eye catches the spell-out so-called clue - and there goes my fun. The only reason I come in at all is to chat, anyway. I am rarely a finisher, in fact, after over ten years playing.
my cat woke me up at 5 am by sitting on my face:(
the u's are also. I have 4, unx3 and ut, what am i missing
that is why she is not allowed in my bedroom.
me too jwr. I just love coming in and visiting.
if i finish then all the more fun
my sister Pam introduced me to this game and at times we meet here.
I have been playing babble for 7 years now, and I used to fuss and fret over the small issues in addition to killing myself by trying to finish the grid each and every day, but now I am more relaxed about things. i take each grid as it come and take the clues for what they are--a kind offer of assistance and leave it at that. Half the enjoyment I get out of the game these days involves the chat anyways
And about that kitten, Sue - if not already fixed, she will make a great mom ... already carrying her babies around in her mouth.
lol and she goes in on 1/29 to make sure they are just stuffed babies
you are wonderful jwr, i am glad to meet you.
Really? I haven't seen Pam here in ages.
up4/6 is one of the U's
I always stop and read your posts, crossy. It makes me sad, though, to think about you when I'm at the butcher's counter.
Same to you, sue. More later.
lol. why ty jwr:) The bacon dilema makes me sad as well.
sorry phea i have that one also
sorry to bring it up, though I have to say that my doctor would rather I had your problem
My doctor once told me that for each slice of bacon that I eat it would take 6 minutes off of my life. I told him that if that was the case I would have died in 1855;)
rofl
ha ha ha ha
i eat turkey bacon
really about to go poof. On my favorite volunteer kick, in the middle of working two of my favorite film festivals at my favorite theater (the world's best way to see free movies if you're not related to a cinema owner)
very nice jwr. I truly has been a pleasure.
lord save me from ever having to eat turkey bacon
great, crossy - just copied that out to email to my doctor - he'll love it
that is like eating beef made of chicken.. what's the point? lol
ok, back to business, i need stats for the center A and the last column E please
at5/10
et4/4
I agree about turkey bacon, what's the point indeed.
i love the crunch without the fat cross. Also, it hurts my feeling when i put a big wonderful piece of pork bacon in the pan and i get a little taste when it is cooked, lol
I miss my bacon...sniff
once you get the stats, it makes the words pop, ty phae
darn pigs must be made of gold these days
yw
you can shoot wild pigs here anytime
and it only cost $80 to have it butchered
you can stay at my house!
before I go, anyone interested in fun movies (whatever happened to babbler Movieman?) might want to check out noircity dot com.
ty jwr
ta all. poof
I saw Selma yesterday, very powerful movie
I'm glad you liked it Annie. I'm a little tired of all the whining about the Oscar nominations though.
still dont have that last u, sniff sniff
nbt and halfway, but no 7's or 8's :(
I dont pay too much attention to the Oscars. I think it is all political anyway.
i have an 8
I agree Annie, very political
extend the pe6 to 7 & 8
the only pe6 I have is a plural
Molly, your icons are terrific. Going to start the Cuisinart now.
what about the song pe8, who need pe6, are the most wonderful pe6 in the world... Barbara Streisand

Thx phaeton
if you use dryer sheets they coat the lint trap and makes airflow an issue and your clothing starts taking longer to dry. I, for the past month, have starting using two balls of tinfoil to ground the static and washed the lint trap. it has been working beautifully. I also took the took the lawn blower and but it over the lint trap and then took the back hose off and blew it there and what a difference. the clothing dries much faster.
There are so many things about dryer sheets that are not good for your clothes or your dryer.
true, but the tin foils works great and then i give them to the cat after a good bit of use as a toy
i have 2 8's un & pe what is the last one's stats please
I just clean the lit trap after each use.
But I do not use dryer sheets that often
lint*
When you're using a laundry room, it's always a good idea to clean the lint trap before using. You never know who was drying what before you.
hello dear friends. count for the e in the rightmost column, please?
et4.4
oh duh....thanks annie
that sneaky little volcano
be back soon
Hi folks
First column U?

Hiyas, kiddos! Well, this grid is more than three times the size of yesterday's.
et5/12
Hi Judi..How are you and your hubby today?
hello, all :-)
Hi Une :)
hey annie :-)
We are good, Annie. Keeping busy. Going to look at a potential new adoptee today.
I see MLK in your profile. I saw Selma yesterday, powerful film.
Yes. I want to see that. We tried to go see American Sniper last night, but it was sold out.
Hi All!
No one can replace Gert but you can give a good home to another dog.
hi hego :)
Thinking of you Judi.
Thank you, Annie. Hubby says he's no good without a dog, so we are going to jump right back in. A puppy is a joyful thing, so all good vibes there.
Absolutely.
You should talk to Une. She has access to dogs of all sizes, ages and descriptions.
And she delivers.
are you thinking large or small dog, Judi? Hi everyone
Hi Aloy
Hi Aloy
Hubby wants a husky mix, so the search is on. He had already applied to several rescue organizations. We were already getting calls about dogs before Gert made the final trip.
We are going to look at a husky/lab mix boy today.
nice
aww, should be a cutie
sounds good
I'd like have one a bit smaller. But, whatever hubby wants, he'll get to pick.
Either way, I'm sure the cats will be THRILLED!
the cats will put him in his place and peace will reign
:)
I'm not really too worried about the cats. Discipline and training (and cattitude) will settle down most dogs when it comes to cats.
Phantom: Poptart.
:)
lol, I like your phantom
I keep seeing parapet
and apparel
was reading about the dryer sheets.. we bought some wool dryer balls and they do seem to cut down the amount of drying time.. got the idea from my daughter who uses them
they are like big tennis balls
interesting
Do they soften?
yes, they claim to, probably by beating up the clothes, lol
no aroma tho if you like that
right
No, I don't like that.
Aloy, where did you buy them?
hi folks
Off to breakfast. Later peeps!
Amazon has a selection
Hi Welki
Aloy, ty
bye Judi, hi welki

that's it!
Quite the difference between poink and boink : D
crossy says "poink"
:0 Hi Crossy
howdy, hego:)
I used to say "poof" but it is a derogatory word in some cultures so i altered my exit sound:)
very thoughtful
Though i tend to avoid political correctness whenever possible as a rule:)
lol
hi all
hi
hego, I wanted to reserve the book you recommended. There are almost 400 people ahead of me at the library.
oh gosh
I have never seen that many people waiting for a book. I will wait a while and try again
I buy very few books

te8...the first part sounds like a word that means belch + the last three of DNA material
You should put yourself on the list anyway. You have nowhere to go but up. :)

icy rain here. all classes at the Y have been cancelled today
very icy roads
bbl
People who drive in freezing rain are nuts
ty. how about ne of the gone with the winds twins?
it caught folks by surprise, it froze up after hours of pre dawn rain.
Molly there's no d in the grid. I assume you're referring to andy, correct?
Close, their last name had an O at the end. Good clue for Gone With The Wind folks though.
No clue who Andy is
sorry woody
but thx i got it now
There is no D in Arlo
it also makes me think of rhyming with one who is a fraud. sometimes rhymes help when thebrain gets stuck.
I thought of that too TO, but figured it would get a lot of ???
lol, i have days where everythingbrings a lot if ???
: D Me too, mostly from myself
Love the song City of New Orleans
oh my, the sunday AM talking heads are lambasting kerry's brining james taylor to france to sing "you've got a friend". i cringed when i saw that.
lost in translation doesn't even begin to cover it.
Yes, that was just a little too cutesie pie for me
talk about ???
i thought it trivialized a solemn event.
I agree. And don't get me started on who should have been in Paris. Hint: It's not James Taylor
but then again, the idea of formality has changed in the diplmatic world as everywhere else. we are dinosaurs.
The funniest comment I read about Kerry's lame stunt was "The next time the US has a terrorist attack the French can send the mime, Marcel Marceau, to stand in front of Obama and make a sad face."
And yes, I know Marcel Marceau is dead, it was a form of satire
oh, that is funny
i cannot believe i was out this AM. what a day to pick to want a bagel.
Yea, especially since he sings out of tune anyways!
I Had to Google this Kerry fella to see what idiocy in action looks like.
The scariest thing about Kerry is that he was actually endorsed as a Presidential candidate in 2004
i would not call him an idiot.
and i doubt that the decidion was his. those at the top don't arrange things of that nature. but someone did not think. but probably time to move on to other things.
like cleaning! bbl
Hello all!
hi, car!
Meanwhile, I would deeply appreciate some help for re7,32...
grr, the more i try to purge things, the messier this place gets. I guess it's notgoodtocleanout closets unless you have a plan for what you unearth.
When I clean out closets it's one of three options: Trash, Good Will or Keep
I just baby proofed for a visit from my grandson, 16 months old, and am planning on getting rid of a lot of the things I moved out of his reach.
yes. but i am bad at it, so i will make the goodwill trip immediately before i change my mind
tabby, that is lovely.
re7...start like what a snake is, end with picnic pest
I'm also getting ready for a community yard sale in Feb. Whatever doesn't sell, goes into the car and directly down to the Salvation Army. I don't bring anything back into the house.
Thanks, Molly
Thank you, Molly!
i've given up on the yard sale idea. i found a consignment storebut the things are small and it was disappinting.
bad time of year for seller, but good for buyers. post christmas clearout, esp clothes
Since it's a community sale and advertised, we get a lot of traffic and I usually have very little left over. I have tried the consignment store route, but didn't have good luck with it.
I'm in Florida so the weather is good and all the snow birds are here.
I have never had good luck with yard sales. It's appalling how people try to talk you down from already ridiculously low prices. I would rather donate to Good Will.
it is ok for higher end clothes, but recently have had disputes with priceing. like unworn leather shoes for $10. of course, they sold but you cannot get plactic shoes at ross for less than 19..99
I price things very low and don't usually go any lower. I tell people, "No, I think this is a fair price". If they don't buy it, I don't care and will just donate it. By the time I decide to get rid of things, I've decided they are worthless to me.

*Tries to wander unpredictably*
ah, there's the problem - you're trying. gotta just let it flow.
I think unpredictable wandering is a misdemeanor in some States

You asked for the 6/21, right Bich?
Hello Babbleonia.
hello
Is everyone off watching the football games?
Hi Wht. Only one game on and it's half time.
well, sort of wht! the seattle green bay game is bad if you are a seattle fan!
It is certainly not the game I expected.
Living in Boston, I am not sure that I like the story of this weekend becoming upsets.
I can only root for Green Bay. I can't stand any of the other teams involved. And I'm not that much of a Green Bay fan, so it's pretty meh for me.
Fireworks
its not the game seattle thought either I'm sure
I have to go and start cooking dinner. Happy Babbling.
hi all
ta8, pls. Hi jmc
hi jmc, how is your holiday?
check out the icon pip! :-)
lovely!
Yeah, tough life indeed.
just finished a light lunch of ceviche fresh from the pacific and modela now considering a nap. . .
sounds glorious, i love ceviche
but thought i would babble first. . .
me too pip. . . well done ceviche is ambrosia to me
i have been napping myself, after a friend set me up with her buddy the young doctor and i got not much sleep ;)
ooooooooooo
i wish someone would set me up with the not too old doctor. . . or lawyer. . . or lobbyist. . . i am open minded
Ceviche=fresh fish in citrus and peppers, for those of you who are not jet setters : )
wouldn't that be lovely! it would be nicer if he lived in town, but hey, maybe now i have an excuse to go up to new hampshire to rock climb
i ate down in Texas long before becoming a "jet setter" is spending nearly 24 hours on planes and in airports is much of a jet setter
Send out a Babble email alert: Pip got busy last night
ta 8 pls
well there you go pip. . . and you don't have to have him in your face all the time either. . .
LOL molly; glad someone did! ;-)
sorry bichon. . . not ignoring you just started the grid

Back to the previous conversation, brings a whole new meaning to "didn't get much sleep last night" : D
sorry. . . dozing. . . . thought i could get nbt but a nap is calling my name. . . . bbl
who, me? o:)
enjoy, jmc
It's a tough life lazing on the beaches of Mexico
how am i craving cake? so random
Cravings usually are
there is that
and i do have some leftover birthday cake in my freezer
Maybe it was the workout you got last night : P
well, i am certainly out of shape in that department, this has not been a good year for dating
yet another reason i am ready to go to chicago
whats in chicago?
i have some good friends and family there, and am hoping to get into school there
oh was just wondering since i live there
but also it's just better for social life and dating than nyc
what school are you looking to attend
aha! i like it there. i am still waiting to hear from northwestern's physician assistant program, crossing my fingers!
nice very good school
i went to university of illinois in chicago
nice, one of my friends teaches marine biology stuff there
they also have a great medical program there
they do! if only they had a PA program...
well my daughter majored in biology with a minor in chiemistry now she has an excellent job with a pharmaceutical company here in illinos
Wait, wait, Chicago is better for dating than New York?
well people are friendly here lol
i would say for women, and for what i am looking for, yes. the ratio is not skewed in my favor, and mewn tend to be on the lookout for the next better thing, it's a frequent complaint i hear
well im old and all past that stuff lol
and people here in general don't have a ton of time to meet up, and want to go out and do things that cost money, as opposed to just hanging out which is more common in chicago
but better to get to know someone by interacting and hanging out together
Pippin, any acceptances yet?
sadly no
but no rejections either...
Any interviews coming up?
:( negative there too
:-(
What is your back-up plan?
tuesday i will call my 2 backup schools that i have not yet heard from and offer them my latest transcripts and tell them i hope i am still in contention. maybe that will tell them i am serious since that's the only reason i can think that they never contacted me
Such uncertainty and stress for you.
and if i don't get in i move to chicago anyway so that it's easier to apply a second year and not travel for interviews, and i guess potentially broaden my net
not a big fan of the uncertainly, but it'll turn out if it's meant to be, and i will find a way to make it happen
I recall the med school application process.
evening all
Hi Dan
I hit 100 and need a break.
do you need any hints?
Hi all - back to find my final 11 words.
hiya again, good luck with your last 11!
i have 30 left, getting quite hard
Hi Pip - how are things with the med school applications?
I agree. These last ones are challenging me too.
ugh. playing a waiting game - details below in ghe chog
OK - will look back.
how is summer treating you?
Lots of luck with Chicago! Hope that you get there.
Summer is unpleasant at the moment. Very hot and VERY humid. Unusually so for here. The news said that the temp yesterday was 7C above average.
:( yuk
But I prefer that to being cold. Can always use fans and air con.
How's your winter?
The ocean is 27 C today - never heard of it that warm in the 6 years I've lived here and our pool was like a bath at 32 C yesterday!!!
i prefer summer as well, but winter is not entirely miserable. today was nasty and rainy but much warmer - high of 45. what is that, like 7? 8?
Don't mind hot or cold as long as it's dry!
6C now here
Warm indoors though, I hope.
yeah, it poured today, and i didn't have my raincoat, but fortunately i don't melt
I hate p's!
there are SO many of them
Funny how many teachers I used to work with worried that the kids might melt!
i only have 4 left but they hate me
I also have 4 x p left and I think that they hate me too.
maybe we have each other's missing ones?
3 now.
nice
Listing helps.
drat, no, i have 6, i forgot about the other p. grr
3 left from the first p.
Have you got singer Dolly's last name? Just guessed that one and it worked.
i do have that one. all but the first pa
That was one of my missing ones but found that a few minutes ago.
ps done!
ha, just monkeyed the first pe7
1st pa has 3 vowels in it.
4 to go! 3 x t and 1 x r
go liz go!
*Hands out pom-poms*
2 - found a plural I'd missed :(
Almost ready to accept!
Fireworks.
hooray!
And without dictionary help! Happy :)
Thanks.
i will be using dictionary help, but one more pass thru the list first
Any clues wanted?
Lovely icon, Molly.
too many to clue, and i don't see any major big ones
OK, so I guess that means I need to go and start cleaning the house. Had stepson and g/f here for the last week.
Good luck with the rest of the grid, pip.
ty liz! may your cleaning be swift and painless
Also good luck with the applications. Hope you get some good news soon.

Good news to all. I'm sure everyone could use some good news.

Good day for soup.
congrats pip & wvt!
Lots of wind down here, too Saanich. We've been inside most of the day with football playoffs.
good place to be!
Our dog has had surgery on his leg and has three more weeks of very quiet living (no walks). After that he may be allowed to walk on a leash.
Signing off for tonight. 37 left and soup is just about ready. Good night all.
