Hello everyone :-)
you just caught me zooz. g'day mate
Hello, Rose :-) How are you?
doing well, thanx. and you?
Not too bad thanks :-)
did you see the other night? medical panel decided in my favour.
Any sign of autumn arriving your end...If not can you tell it to hurry up.I am fed up with all this cold weather..lol
Oh great news, Rose!!
our summer is here with a vengence. temps predicted 37C by next weekend.
I bet you are glad that is all over now!
Hi all - Rose. great news. Now what does that mean for you?
Take away at least 30c and that is about all we have left..lol
i am, zooz. conciliator is urging the workcover agent to settle up ASAP.
Hello, Dianne :-)
dianne, my 'wage' payments are to be reinstated, plus physio, hydro AND pain doctor to be all paid for ad infinitum.
Wondering what the workcover ASAP equates too in time length.
That is absolutely fantastic ! ! !
lol, zooz they have 7 days to settle up.
Oh well that is even better, Rose!
soooo this time next week it will all be over bar the shouting. anyone for a glass of bubbles?
A bit early...but what the heck...why not!
*giggle* surely you have heard of a champagne breakfast??
*Clink* *cheers!*
Never had one, Rose.
awwww thanx
* makes note * must introduce zooz to a champers brekky when i am over there.
Heard of them...just never had the pleasure of enjoying one..lol
Not that I am that bothered about it..lol
I am not a morning person, rose, Normally, But I can make acceptions..lol
good for you, zooz.
It is about time things went your way, Rose.Very happy for you!
zooz when i received the email, every muscle in my shoulders relaxed. i swear my shoulders were up around my ears.
LOL..bless you!
what the best part is...workcover have to pay for pain doctor with respect to the nerve damage in my knee.
Well I am happy nnow.As I have now found all three eight letter words in todays grid!
this is going to cost them much more than if they had accepted my claim originally.
whoa!! well done zooz.
Serves them right, Rose!
i will email you zooz and fill you in on the nitty gritty.
Well they are easy words.Nothing like a medical word..lol
Okey dokie, Rose :-)
Glad I caught you before you went to slumberland, Rose. I am now off to see parents.Sweet sleeps, Rose. and see you again soon I hope.
bye to you too, Dianne :-)
bye zooz. enjoy your day mate
Thanks..And gone.
sprite??? i stayed for as long as i could. xoxox sweetie. i hopefully will catch you after the flip tomorrow.
good morning all
awww... missed you by minutes, rose. So sorry.
{{sprite}}
hi ruby :) *hug* How are you?
I was all a5 in here, trying to take my mind off my sore chest
*healing vibes to your chest*
It is taking very ong to heal, not much better than 5 weeks ago. The only thing that helps is staying in the tub for an hour, but I am starting to look like a prune
better a prune than in more pain than is necessary
with meds, I can keep the pain down to a 5 except when I change positions. Then, it's a 12
time to go. I am happy we got to say "hello" as I haven't been in here much
chronic pain is such a tough thing to live with
take care, ruby
yes, it is vvery tiring and wakes me during the night
*poof*
Hi all :)
hey Liz :D
just read your email. *hugs* and good luck with all the busy times.
Hi sprite and hugs - back here to finish off my last 24 words.
Thought you'd gone already.
goooooo Liz! I am at 3/4 and not going fast
I got stuck and have listed and am now using a bit of extra help ;)
hehehe nothing wrong with that
Just found co 6 - 3 vowels at the end :(
lol yes
Finding I've missed a couple of very obvious words.
Are you still feeling rough?
I usually do.
no am feeling ok. Bit sleepy, lol... might go back to bed for another hour. No duties today except laundry.
That's good - hope someone else folds it!!
no they don't. But I don't mind, I fold straight off the line.
that's OK then.
Has the young one calmed a bit?
yeah he has. I have straightened him out and told him that if he cannot see he is aggressive and intimidating when he stands over someone and yells, he will have to learn to always keep a few paces distance.
That sounds like very good advice - personal space is really an important thing for someone to understand.
he then folded and agreed he had been being a pest. So... another episode behind us...
Glad it's over - hope it's a very long time before the next one.
yeah. Most of us have sensors for it and won't do it unknowingly. It seems he has trouble figuring it out.
from your mouth to God's ear, Liz!
LOL! I've met others who stand so close - even when not shouting, sometimes it's really off-putting.
it really is. I start feeling breathless and my heart starts racing when they do that. Nowadays I kindly ask them to take a step back, please.
Hasn't happened to me for a while - don't remember who it was - just that it irritated me!
I believe it!
Can't believe I'd missed the writing material - duh. Must've been tired.
de 7/36 clue please
I don't have it yet either, I think. No fountain there... though the last part is.
I think I've only used that once. could be wrong though.

Hi sukee
And fireworks! Got tricky for me towards the end - except for some very simple words that I'd missed. Still, there's always another grid!
Time for me to go - hugs to sprite, when she gets back. Hope you enjoy your day, sukee.

I just had the most irritating conversation with a ISP tech:( I have a DNS #105 error that has to do with router/proxy settings, preventing me from accessing particular site, and all this woman did was spout back pre-programmed canned macro responses and advise me to turn off all my browser security:(...grrrr!
Sigh...ended up having to research it and fix it myself. I reset the router then put the browser set-up back to its default settings, and running Ccleaner twice. I often wonder why we pay them all the money we do for such crappy IT service

good morning doc
how goes the battle against evil, ruru?
well.. my superhero costume is at the cleaners right now
so you're fighting crime naked? bonus!
well.. at least from my computer
computer crime is an important evil to fight
hmmph. seems like a waste of a q not to have any words start off it.
it is unusable in this grid
no q's in anything
someone posted quelp I think

heheh
one letter off of the flying bird women.
and need an extra a for the jet... i can't achieve liftoff here
well.. there is a similar word
hey - good spottin', I hadn't seen that
and a small fracture too
do you tailor your clues for me? take the medical meaning if possible?
well.. I tailor clues for everyone
in your case you're easy to clue :D
so kind. also the amount of brain space to keep track of everyone's needs is imp....hey, now, i've mostly grown out of being easy, what with getting married and all.
<--back to easy
oh, hey - have you heard of/watched the show Dollhouse? it's old and no longer broadcasting, but I just discovered it last week.
nope.. I don't watch much tv to be honest
yeah, me either. We don't actually have any kind of television receiver or cable provider - i was just looking for background noise via netflix
it's weird and fascinating in a way that might appeal to you. basically, an organization called the Dollhouse has figured out how to download and re-write personalities.
oh.. I watch a little sports and that's about it
they keep a bunch of people (dolls) that they program for whatever task they are hired to get done.
oh.. we see that here.. a lot of people here rewrite their personalities :D
I'm actually a hot young blonde pole dancer.
which is nominally ethical only because the dolls are all volunteers... but there's one who's gone crazy and is hunting the rest
I knew that!!
:D
You're so perceptive.
you mean you dn't look like tom selleck?
hego likes hairy men I guess
God, I hope not.
I'm Italian Ru, what can I say.
(hego changes call name to Magnum)
well.> I sure like Tom Selleck better than those stupid weemees :D
But they are so me.
not really
You mean they don't drink?
no.. they don't..
Hell with that then.
they are in therapy groups with Precious moments dolls
good morning
Hi Nan
good morning party-nan
whats a weemee?
little avatars
it's that goofy Icon car.eee and hego usually have
You can design your own
little ghoulish creepy cartoony things
Car got me involved with those in the first place.
She made me one for Christmas.
well.. I would tell her where to put her weemee if she tried that with me :D
but she's so nice.
seems like it .. yes.. a little on the wild side though

Hi Shirl
We've had a lot, the most in about 5 years and it's beautiful, but it makes things more difficult.
glad you asked for it matty.. no list yet, so it clued me too
Back to bed for moi.

ty for posting the address for BabbleExpert, hego.. don't have it on this old computer, so I'm going to try to download it.. bbl to finish, 35 more to find.. ci4 for now
I'm on a Mac so no expert for me
i like tom selleck too.. i think he would be perfect as jim qwilleran in the cat who series

only obscure. lol
kind of a crusty clue
hi ru - apoquel won't be on the market up here for another year or more. so it's back to ceflexin, benadryl, that HP diet and maybe more vanectyl if it flares up again
cefalexin
but thanks for the info, just the same. my vet will keep looking, in case it shows up early
somebody have an itchy dog?
yep
cephalexin can cause long term problems however
sorry about the apoquel. maybe someday it will provide baxter some relief
just looked up the side effects - damned if you do, damned if you don't
well.. it's more than that welki
but we seem to be having some success with the salmon oil and vitamin e supplements (and the occasional egg and sardine don't seem to hurt either)
you eventually build up a stronger reaction to staph infections over time by pulsing on Keflex (cephalexin)
maybe my search wasn't that far reaching
fish oils are really helpful
oh, i see. yes, i understand. and he is on it for 3 weeks at a time, but only a couple of times a year
it's such a drag what we have to deal with..
later in life .. it will be harder for him to fight off staph if he's on Keflex a lot..
what's a drag is that, even though we try to help, the meds can wreak havoc in the long run
yes, but what are my options?
yeah.. but what choices do we have..exactly
bathing him once a week can help too
Saturdays are Dylan's bath days
if you use medicated shampoo, which one?
I use the aloe and oatmeal vet kem formula
and malakyte
that may not be spelled right though
ruru in the penalty box.... what goodies are hiding there today?
malaket shampoo?
the problem with the aloe shampoo is that you have to really rinse it out..it's hard to get out of the coat
web says the vet-kem aloe/oatmeal is a flea/tick shampoo
it's not a flea shampoo.. it's a soothing shampoo
it does help
malaket is correct.. thanks doc
i like the malaket idea - antibacterial, antifungal
yeah.. you rub it in and leave it and wash it out
thanks, jes :)
I leave it on for ten minutes
welcome :)
do you agree on the Keflex issue jes?
sorry, wasn't actually here... what's the issue?
(now to try to find suppliers in canada)
read below
not exactly - cephalexin doesn't affect the dog's immune system. if you use it at low doses or for short terms, what you can end up with is bacteria that are resistant to it.
one of my dogs is on it now - a golden, 1000mg twice a day for 21 days
I ended up with bacterial resistance for my last dog
you can, in theory, end up with the same from any antibiotic - it's not a cephalexin specific issue. that's one of my major objections to things like antibacterial hand soap
shouldn't use antibiotics for things other than bacterial infections... used to be used a lot as growth additives in feeds too.
i totally agree with that too
so I don't disagree that an individual treated repeatedly with an antibiotic may later have decreased response to same antibiotic later, but it's not that the dog is more susceptible, and using a different antibiotic should work.
that's not the case with my last dog.
he came down with a serious mrsa infection from long time use of anti-biotics
yeah... the problem with mrsa is that it's resistant to multiple antibiotics. slutty slutty bacteria trading resistance codons.
i have had Dylan on two anti biotics right now.. nursing him back to health
ri 6 please?
I feel for Welki.. sometimes you just want to give up... it's overwhelming at times for me

3 more and need clues for all -- ridiculous words and non words few of us would ever use or know --- getting disillusioned with this game
reading back a bit on the talk of antibiotics. I watched a interesting show yesterday about how our days of effective antibiotics may be numbered and how the newest infections are "pan-drug resistant." The show was basicallt saing that we should enjoy our antibiotics while we can because they are the only class of drug we have at this time that is made useless the more we use them.

Good Evening Fellow Babblers. How are you tonight?
Hi Nef. I just finished. How are you?
hi nef...
I'm fine, Bug. We had our grandson overnight and I took him home a while ago, started here about 45 minutes ago
Hi pen, how are you tonight?
i finished earlier...
YAY, pen!!!
ty ty!
It must be nice to still see him but have him all the time. You both need time to get over withdrawal
Hi pen
hi bugs...
Are you up to your armpits in snow, pen?
yes... and could get 10-15 in. more in the next few days...hope they are wrong...
Grandchildren areva blessing in that you get allthe enjoymentvof inteacting with a energectic' inquisisative child, but still get to ship him or her home to mum and dad at the end ofthe day:-)
I think this was the first time he stayed overnight (or maybe the second?) since they moved out. I miss him terribly
Ignore typos... am on tablet
Nef, I missed the part where he moved out. Is he living with Dad and are they managing well?
hi crossy. We fed him the remnants of the ice cream cake from DH's b'day just before I took him home! ;-)
Lol i love pumping them full of sugar before sending them home
Oh, Bugs, they (my son & grandson) moved out the week of Christmas. Unfortunately, his mother is now living there too (a 2 bedroom apartment!) because her living plans fell apart too about then.
I am sorry Nef. I was hoping that she would be able to play a smaller part in his life. My DIL has the same condition and it is destroying her kids.
ahem....good morn/afternoon/eve to all
Howdy (rose)
G'day granny! hope you are well
howdy to you too crossy. g'day bugs. all is okay. sitting here with a goofy ear-to-ear grin.
I keep trying to keep my mouth shut; but I definitely think that this is sick. SHe's bipolar and can't get a job; her own family is nuts too and my son is enabling her so she won't be hospitalized long term.
Hi granny
hi nef
why the grin, granny? Good news I hope?
hi...
Love tohear some good news, rose:-)
thanx for asking...lol. heard from the medical panel re my workcover injury. they have overturned the last doctor's report....in my favour
Yaaa!
workcover agent has nowhere to go, not even the supreme court. they have to pay up and say nothing.
Woo Hoo granny! Does that mean that you'll get workers compensation?
what does "workcover" mean? is that like workmans comp?
Then itbis done. Time to payup.
What happened?
yes, nef. restoration of fortnightly payments, physio, hydro AND pain doctor, plus travel expenses
yes leslieann
WOW!!
well congrats, although sounds like something they should have done in the first place
nef, someone washed the floor at work, no signage, i fell onto my total knee replacement knee, tore the medial colateral ligament. had to have a revision knee done.
Such terrific news Granny! I hope you will soon be doing the Highland Fling without any pain
happy for you, rose...
bugs, fingers crossed, hin. i am so hoping the pain doc can help me.
<---hopes for fling.. with or without a highland
thanx dear pen.
Oh, granny! How awful! How long have you been out?
lol, dorens...
granny, my mom had a similar incident, except she was carrying a cash register she dropped on her wrist :/
nef, work sacked me last august when i couldn't return to my normal hours and duties.
ouch, leslie
yeah, had to have all sorts of metal put in there
Are you able to work anywhere at all, granny? Or forced retirement?
short story, nerve in knee was damaged by second lot of surgery. not the surgeon's fault. can happen to anyone. workcover would not pay for pain doc to treat it.
nef, at the moment on disability pension. the doc report which put me out of work says i was unemployable due to the other medical things. which was totally untrue of course.
I can sympathize with you on that. My 2nd ankle surgery damaged a nerve in my foot and (8 years later) I still can't be on my foot over 2 hours at a stretch without severe pain from it (but I don't have anything for it; I get off my feet).
A knee would be so much worse because of how tricky knees are.
i hear you nef. poor thing. i too have two lots of ankle surgery on same ankle. and i too have to be very careful how long i am upright on it.
I also have same thing....three herniated disks i my neck. It is a matter of taking things in shorts bursts thsn medication or damaging surgry
Mine was a workplace injury too, but because it was a foot, I could do desk work; so no disability pension.
i apologise to nef and bugs for butting in. too sad about son and grandson still having his mom with them.
No problem, granny. Chog always ebbs & flows from 1 topic to another.
all i can say nef is that your son is a big man in every way it counts. but i hope not to grandson's detriment.
Okay, my crazy mind says that Babblers are all physical wrecks it seems! :-)
that's what makes this site swing. we each understand what another is going through. best support group i have ever seen.
My son has a very tender heart. Then again; that's probably why he got mixed up with her in the first place.
Sometimes it's support group here, sometimes I feel like it's a family (& that's why there are sometimes disagreements too)
Babble is unique in the suppot and help that is on hand
not a physical wreck here
I think so too, crossy.
No, not completely one yet ruru. (How is YOUR knee lately? ;-)
i think ruru that is a moot point. i would love to lead the debate on that....lol
I don't have to get on my knees anymore.. unless I want to
(rolling my eyes on THAT comment, ruru!)
Think i shall let that one pass....
i don't know...ruru on his knees....that would be a sight to see......
*thinking that i am glad i am lurking*....
I muzt bid you all a good niht. Sleep well my friends, and dream of a better toorrow...
Pionk
Niters, crossy!
...just sayin'...
sweet dreams crossy
Well, on this grid, I'm going to list before halfway I guess. I swear, I don't see any words anymore in this letter jumble!
i think I listed at 45....the end was tough....
I have 88 words left; so close to half; but nothing here. (there are days when I wonder why I play this game because I'm so thick-headed!)
we all feel that way sometimes....
thanks, pen. That makes me feel better! :-)
good!
just watched the weather forecast...expecting 6-12 in. of snow over the next couple of days....ugh....
Are you in the northern part of the state or southern, pen?
kind of eastern....midcoast....
How much have you had so far this winter? (We're getting very little snow this year; but last year was horrid for us)
not sure...perhaps close to 4 feet....
had an early storm....then nothing much for 2 months....and then bam....i think there have been 4 significant snowfalls in the last two weeks or so...
WOW! And you guys aren't used to dealing with that amount; are you?
Do you have the equipment and ability to move that much?
well everyone who lives in maine is used to dealing with snow....but midcoast usually doesn't get this much....
oh yeah we have the equipment....
it did not come all at once...
oh, that's good.
biggest problem now is where to put the plowed snow...
Yeah, that's another thing I was wondering about
the snowbanks are pretty high....makes it hard to exit a driveway or small street....can't see what's coming....
thinking of going out to move my car tonight....supposed to start snowing around 4 am....
Yeah, we had that problem last year. The snowbanks at the end of our driveway were probably 6 feet; My 4 foot high chain link fence was *maybe* 6 inches above the snow in spots, etc. (thank goodness my dog didn't venture out into the yard; he was only 11 lbs, but if he would have wanted to go, that fence wouldn't have kept hime in
ah....same problem here....and it's been so cold that nothing will melt for a while....
That sounds like our winter last year. It was winter almost all through April too I think.
glad i don't have to go anywhere tomorrow....have an exercise class Monday, but i may skip it...
LOL! If you have to keep shoveling, who needs a class (other than socialization reasons)
true....but i would rather stretch and do balance exercises than shovel...have to be careful....tendonitis in my right forearm...
Oh, I know. It's like I'd rather do anything else but shovel too
i don't mind it as much as cleaning off the car, especially if i have to scrape....
When I do have to shovel; I always use a shovel with a bent "ergonomic" handle because it's easier to use
mine is just a shovel but it's very lightweight...
and *my* snow scraper for the car has a telescoping handle so it reaches up to 3 feet. Makes that whole job easier too (even scraping off the windows isn't too bad when you have a big (but light) snow scraper
yes, mine has a handle like that, too....
DH gave it to me about 2 years ago; last year we gave 1 to each of our kids for Christmas. They were just so easy to use
yes, they are better than the ones with ordinary handles...
Yeah, my DH's scaler is one of those hard plastic ones, & he will grab mine if I'm not using it first
i am knitting a scarf right now....it's for an upstairs neighbor who usually shovels the walk....
Nice, pen. :-)
well i am off to move my car and then to bed....g'nite nef...
*waving*....
Niters, penquis! Take care!
