hi Chessy! It is evil!
not v. friendly all round this morning - words all hiding!
{{hugs}} my darling sprite. *hands sprite her glasses* 222 silly.
*hugs rose* Who are you calling silly, silly? 21. And only 14 in so far.
aha...sprite was talking about the k's....* grin *
me? Never. I don't know no Ks. Huh-huh. Nah. Not me. Wouldna talk 'bout them, I would.
how dare they, Chessy. Let's chase them out of their hiding places!
nah, leave 'em be - they might turn vicious!
true, dat. Ok, will sneek behind them then, and catch them unawares.
ugh and that kh- is unproductive as well
Good plan, that'll learn 'em
*makes room in the babble PB for all the cages
*
dinner ready.bbl. i think you will be here then, sprite. btw, g'day chessy.
enjoy, rose, and yes I will be, promise.
Hi n bye rose :)
17/21... grrrr... where are the others...
hah! There are some ke words. Ks killed.
Good morning, thanks to my cat I am up earlier than I intended.
bad kitty. Good morning sukee, great to see you.
That is what I get for not having a clock in my bedroom I guess :)
Hi sprite.
a walking, purring, warm and funny clock
21 Ks, lovely.
ikr! Don't know which idiot thought we even know that many K words.
He has a habit of licking my forehead.
oh lol! Such a weird way of waking up, I imagine. That raspy feeling on your fore head.
And 50 S words, at least those are more common.
yeah. At least I am confident I know that many S words.
Oh well, with my extra hour to play it should be okay :)
I will retract my earlier judgement. Good kitty!
Then again, I will need a nap in the afternoon :)
and back...xoxox sprite and sukee
Hi Rose.
naps are so nice. I used to hate them. Nowadays, it is often the best moment of my day.
hi sukee
wb rose, my darling :) How was your dinner? And glad the letter finally made it.
Yes, the cat lies down with me and purrs the whole time. I wonder if that is part of his plan :) Get me up early so we have to take a nap together later.
it was the highlight of my day, dearest. thanx so much.
undoubtedly. Cats are smart that way.
my pleasure, rose. Literally. Just preparing and writing it was such a joy :)
going out with june tomorrow. her power is off for works tomorrow , so she changed it. she said she would rather be out, than sit there with no power.
good thinking. Any idea what you guys will be doing?
apart from coffee, lunch, charity shopping and curing the ills of the world. nope, no idea.
oh, that should be enough, lol
i am so elated about the lower back spasms.
me too! Am so happy for you. Finally, a medicine that works for that. I bet you can't remember doing the bed without lower back spasms.
not since forever.
thought so. Well, you have earned every second without pain thrice over.
H words down, all 5 of them :)
yay sukee!!
wooooot sukee! Good hunting :D
and the Rs
going strong there
Sure, have half of the Ks
well done sukee
very good!
I like grids like this better than yesterdays
oh rose, and lovely to read that you can drive the car. That car gives you your freedom back, doesn't it.
yesterday's was too small, lol.
absolutely sprite. and no need to rub in the size of yesterdays grid. the drier would do it to anything.....col
hmphhhhh. Look m'dear, you can shrink anything you like. Except my babble!
need to get the meds ready. bbs
sure, sure, hide behind the meds. Watch it, little lady, or I will shrink your meds!
Ok, I need a short break, 95 left.
good job, sukee! Have a nice day, in case I don't see you after your break
:-P pfft and ~~~ i'm baaack ~~~
lol.... wb.... I guess! :P
hahahaha
*hugs rose* Nah, I am always happy to see you.
right two columns
greyed out
well done sprite
oh I didn't tell you yet... you know how my vit D was way way too low? And the pills aren't helping much?
yup??
one of my fellow coaches is a doctor (of medicine) and she said, no way in hell you will get that vitD up from that low with those pills. And she prescribed me a turbo treatment. A super high dose once in the 2-3 weeks, 3 times. Then check again. Repeat if necessary. And only after it is back to normal, proceed with the maintenance and take those other pills.
ordered it, had to order in belgium since it isn't available in the netherlands. Got it yesterday and took it. Can't wait to have it checked in two months.
oh?? that is so amazing!! so glad you found that out. fingers crossed, and prayers said.
did you check out the vitacost site?
no I googled, and then picked the cheapest that actually sends to the netherlands.
okay. good for you!!
good morning. Things are not getting better around here. Burt is becoming somewhat unmanageable. He insists on going up and down the stairs, unaccompanied.
means I have to save up for the socks again, but I think this is more important. The feet are just pain and discomfort, the vitD shortage sabotages the whole body.
My chest is worse again.
I am beside myself.
aww ruby...i'm not surprised dear. xoxox running up and down those stairs.
I think you have reached the stage where Burt has to be institutionalised, ruby. Taking care of him is killing you.
I'm afraid he would die in a place where he couldn't understand anything and couldn't communicate
{{gentle hugs}} for our rubyfoo
I've just written to his "too-busy" daughter that she needs to come here right away. I need the help and even if she could just sit with him, that would be something. I'm afraid if his mind gets much worse, he won't know her
at his age, darling, he is gonna die anywhere. Sorry to be so blunt, but it is the truth. And from what you tell, I doubt he even realises he is at home, most of the time. He is confused all the time.
ruby...if you are not physically to do it, then that's it, sweetie. you just have to let go. i did advise you to make sure he could do all post-op that he could do pre-op.
good job, ruby. If she is too busy to come help you, she deserves a severe asskicking.
H still takes care of his"personal" needs, even if he has a little trouble with his clothes, but last night, he thought he wS IN ny sTATE
ugh, poor darling ruby. that is so distressing.
yep. That is too much for you to handle, ruby. Get him institutionalised. And visit often. Not easy, far from easy, but this is undoable.
vitacost does not carry it, rose.
np's sprite. how about progressive health?
how do you mean?
oh wait, is that another website?
check out their site.
right, found it. Lol, typed in vitamin D. First thing that comes up is... you guessed it... fibromyalgie and vitamin D deficiency. 61 out of 100 FM patients have it.
* giggling * oh really??
and 42 out of 61 felt much better and had less markers for FM after the D was back to normal. Also started on a massive dose.
*tousles rose's hair and runs away* Na na naaaa naaa
have you had your vit D levels checked recently?
yes, i have. and it was low..surprise, surprise
indeed. Lol. Well, here is the advice my doctor friend gave me: D-cure drink ampoules, 100,000 IE. Buy 4 ampoules. Take on ampoule once every 2 or 3 weeks. Also take calcium, 1000mg a day.
on = one
and only after your vit-D levels are back up, use the normal pills for a maintenance dose.
doing that, sprite. i am taking caltrate. calcium and vit D in one tablet.
interesting, I just read that in a clinical test in saudi-arabia they found out that exposure to sunlight does not make any difference.
yeah that is what I have as well, but my doctor friend said it won't do the trick for us. When the levels are way down, you need a serious booster. My lvls were below 10, far below 10, and they need to be 50 or so.
and anything below 30 is considered a deficiency
yeah...ain't that interesting. our old GP theorised, that 10 minutes walk in the sunshine would cure our vit D deficiency.
according to him...in england, in the villages, there are paths around the villages, which the villagers used to perambulate every late afternoon, early evening. hence their vit D levels were okay.
I just read that for an FM patient, to bring up very low vit D levels, one needs to sunbathe at least 3 hours a day. Under very good circumstances. Are the circumstances less good, one has to stay outdoors sunbathing all day! And in winter, there just isn't enough sunlight to do you any good.
now isn't that interesting?? and here we are told to cover up, put on sunscreen. right!! which is it to be?
um I would say, take the darn supplements! And then cover up, put on sunscreen, and make sure you are outdoors for at least an hour a day, just because that is good for all of us.
looks good to me...but not what the medical profession are advocating. * hands nearest doctor the latest printout of information *
indeed, lol. Well, I am certain my doctor will be open to the new info. She is a good 'un. And I am certain enough of this to try it myself. Will let you know!
good for you, sprite.
this article says to take 50,000 IU every week. My doctor friend said 100,000 IU every two weeks. Sounds to me like comparable advice.
yup, it sure does.
ugh...it is after 9:30pm here. starting to feel the effects of the meds.
ohhh goodie, the silent P words. Makes me feel so smart when I spot them, lollll.
well done sprite!
yeah, it is lullaby time for our rose. Sleep well, dear rosey, relax... no you are too sleepy for sex... dream of hot cabana boys instead... Sleep well, dear rose, go to bed....
* grinning * happy to oblige. xoxox sprite.
*hugs* my dear friend. See you in email :)
am missing an S6 and 7, probably a combo. I have the musical pieces. Anyone who can point me in the right direction, please?
sorry, sprite, just started.
hi cece :) np, I will find them. Just feels like I have tried each and every combination, lol.
clue for the lone as 5 plz
as + make another word out of a word = ***gram.
and hi ivesy :)
ty and hi sprite :)
sa6 = sa + zingy flavour (+ plural)
hah, found them. Fireflies. sa + a fiery ballroom dance ****o. And plural.
that's the right one, juni, thanks :D
Heh, sorry, slow.
apart from the Ks, this grid was really fun! Anything I can help with before I go?
not your fault, juni, lol. Thanks for the clue, much better than mine.
ok, I am off then. May you all have a blessed day and a peaceful night. Or the other way around. *hugs*
hagd sprite
g'night sprite, sorry was just finishing up (7 left)
Good morning, everyone:)
good morning, Crossy! gm, everyone
Hiyas, kiddos. Too early a start for me. Gotta take hubby to his colonoscopy appointment this a.m.
hi Judi! do you have a tablet or laptop you can use whilst waiting?
I'll just be bringing my book, dawg. Can't be bothered with the tablet.
as long as you have something to occupy your time. waiting for the procedure to be done is a drag...for both parties.
Oh dear. I just realized that there are 21 K words.
they aren't too bad to find, Judi.
I think that accounts for all the K words that exist in the universe.
lol, just don't forget the esses for these words. that seems to be my downfall today. stupid hidden plurals
Yes. See what you mean.
Good morning
Hiya, car!
and the silent P's ugh
hi car!
The K's do go rather smoothly. Basically just type anything and it works. 2 left.
Off to a fun morning of waiting room. *POOF*
enjoy your reading and waiting, Judi
And now it is time for Crossy's tidbit of the day!!
Syria, China, Vietnam, and Iran have banned Facebook.
Of course this may change from week to week and from dictator to dictator:)
Hmmmm
that tidbit was a bit dull and flat, so I think I will give you a nice quote of the day to shore it up a bit...
"When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life." –John Lennon
:) For the record, your tidbits are never dull or flat! I enjoy them all!
:)
good morning. It seems to be Spring today. There'll be flowers in a week and the wild primroses are "partout"
((ruby))
Hello Ruby! Lovely!
{{crossy}}
hello car...
salut, ruby -- good to see you! here it's jonquils de partout! :-)
tulips, iris and allium are all leafed up
bonjour une
lovely!
Hello Une
hey car :-)
Minus 8 C here this morning. We will not have anything green and growing for a bit yet:(
before we went back to cool rain and clouds, we had to VERY warm days with full sun, and the flowers all over town went NUTS :-)
*two
crossy, that's like where my daughter lives in Maine --- still the North Pole there :-)
lol
We've been really lucky with this winter: a little snow, a little frost, a little sunshine, but generally gentle
Our ski hills are doing a booming business. We will give them till end of March break, then we want it all gone!
Its very cold here again today
I don't think it got as low as 25F here this year. We could use a little rain, but it's not drastic.
just the opposite here, ruby :-)
It is very different from 17 yrs. ago when we moved here. There was much more snow, even well into April
Hi everybody - so nice to read about your flowers - we still have some snow on the ground, and they're predicting 3 more inches tomorrow
Hello JBV
Hello JBV!
I overdid it in the garden on Tuesday, just couldn't stand the winter detritus on the new spring leaves
I saw a robin yesterday - I think he's a little ahead of schedule
The resident birds have all gotten their courting plumage
it's great to hear birdsong in the morning
I am so ready for spring
The closest thing we have to a robin is the red throat, but he's tiny and walks into the house occasionally since he was widowed by our window
cardinals, robins, chickadees, mockingbirds abound! :-)
We have seagulls and hawks...no pretty ones
Hello Annie
Hi car. :)
We have a large variety of bid life that has returned to join the ones that stayed through the winter.
We have verdiers (green finches, I think), pinsons, merles (black and large but with lovely voices), and more, but I'm drawing a blank. Oh yeah, chardaronnet, a tiny bird that is red, yellow, black, white and brown.
Our Canada geese are back. I am sure that Florida is happy about that:)
We'e've had two different woodpecker, one green and red, the other jut like US ones, but they are rare.
There are magpies, but I only seen one in ourgarden in all these years.
We have many varieties of woodpecker, but the pealated(sp) is the most common
I had to rescue one from the garage as he got stuck. I wasn't careful and he tried to peck me.
pileated
ty, jbv... I was too lazy to look it up
We also have beautiful hawsk, eperviers, in French, like the one that came in the house.
: )
you had a hawk in the house?
I would need an hour to list just a portion of our bird varieties:)
I was more careful with the hawk when rescuing her, got her from the back and she relaxed in my hands
We have never had a hawk in the house though!
I used to see so many more varieties - but over the years they seem to have been disappearing slowly
She was trying to pick a small bird off the feeder, I guess, and flew in the front door
had a chipmunk once
A oon as it's warm enough, I keep many doors open
You do not have screen doors, Ruby?
Have had two bats, but |I won't handle them, just turn off all the lights and close the door and open windows
If I kept doors open here, I'd have a squirrel picnic in my kitchen!
I|'ve never seen screen doors in France
We would be plagued by insects if we just left everything wide open:(
wow
No squirrels here
Maybe the French ate all the mosquitos:))
So far, we haven't had mosquitoes but with the warming climate, the may change. I think the bat that live in the cliff above us keep the insect population down
What about raccoon's and skunks etc, ruby?
as garnish for the squirrels and rabbits that they ate
and possums and groundhogs
those critters are thriving here
ad groundhogs, and hedgehogs..
snap
hedgehogs - I don't think I've ever seen one
none of either but there are foxes and a badger in the field above (never seen by me, but one eviscerated my neighbor's cat) and boar and little dear halfway up the hill.
We even see the odd mole
Interesting that you do not have squirrels, but you could wake up one morning to a wild boar going through your garbage:)
a small mountain deer? interesting - I just had a conversation with my Italian cousins about them -
I;ve never seen one, so I bought a metal sculpture of a hedgehog to go in the garden. I love garden sculpture and keep finding interesting things -- a dragon/lizard, a rabbit, a frog, a large tortoise and a heron
I really don't know what kind of deer it is, but one ate my friend's entire rose garden
oh, yes, we also have lots of hawks and various types of woodpeckers :-)
there are also chamois, but you have to go into the cliffs to see them
how cool, ruby!
I think the animals here are probably the same as in Northern Italy
yes, my cousins sent me pictures of a chamois -
yes, the other side of the mountains!
Unfortunately, rabid bat are expected to come over those same mountains one of these years, also black widow spiders.
we used to have deer and foxes but with all the new construction and destruction of native habitats, we don't see them much any more :-(
My sister sees raccoons on her deck in Forest Hills,NY, and they've spotted coyotes and foxes in Central Park!
I love living in the country
HI ruby. I have two new fosters, girls this time
names? and hello bichon and {{annie}}
My oxycodone has kicked in and I feel much better than I did this AM. Chatty Nellie!
How are they getting along with the boys?
Sadie and Sukie, almost 10.
The boys have no problems with females
Sukie follows Mr. Bich around like a ducklin after the mother duck
imprinted, very cute
They have housebreaking issues. I got some artificial grass and that seems to work
We've been lucky with all 7 of our chows, no housebreaking issues, even at 3 months
Bichons are notoriously difficult to housebreak. But, this was an owner problem
Is your pleurisy any better?
chows are notoriously stubborn in many ways, but, fortunately, not about that. If, however, you say "ome", they look at the sky and say "Ya talkin' to me?"
It was getting better but I did some gardening on Tuesday (duh me) and it's a little bit worse again, but not like before
S&S are easy going and I think that will make them adoptable
"come" or "sit"
I strained a quad muscle back in Nov and it still hurts. Went to physical therapy but they said it will take months
Did the physical therapy help? This hurts too much to touch
I do exercises every day to strengthen the muscle. Sometimes it doesn't hurt at all. Then there are other times
My only exercise is stairs and with Burt taking all his meals in bed, I do between 40 and 60 flights a day (but who's counting lol)
W What else can you do about the condition?ell, couldn't hurt.
I think it should heal by summer but I can't do any gardening or lifting
and the garden beckons
Getting old sucks
amen!
and now the couch beckons.
bye everybody
sounds like a plan
hi everybody. first day of trimester 3, so it's pretty much chaos :)

He is huge
as long as he plays well, I care not
He should.he is a really great player
at the last game I was at, Daniel nava was texting in his glove. On the field. During game play. Eyeroll. Don't see our Panda doing a lot of that nonsense.
Just hope he doesn't discover the north end.
hahahaha
I would say, with the name "Panda" China town might be in more danger....
He loves pizza

a treasure for one of your kids to inherit, Crossy
do you guys have a strategy when you start a board or is it just look for everything and add whatever you find?
and good morning everyone
hi flosey
Just used varying sizes and coarseness of round files to shape them, then rock blanket for polishing.
Howdy, flosey:)
JS: I try to find every word possible off each tile before I move on to the next
hi flosey
alright I was just wondering what most people do
oh hey jacob its noah
ruru i do that sometimes too but not always on purpose
I find one for each tile, then move on to getting the rest
Hi noah Hi Jacob
there are many ways to play a grid
I do the same, ruru
ruru beautiful dog in your icon
I know we have a few that do it alphabetically as well
its if i see more then one word while trying to get one word from each tile
I start from the top left.. as my brain warms up, I type in any word I see connected to the one I just found and then I return to the start and go from right to left, letting it all flow until I get to the bottom right.. and then go back for a closer hunt..
i have tried alphabetically i cant deal with a grid that way
hints for the 10 and 11 please
While other prefer to grey out an entire column before going forward to the enxt
next
cross i have done that but not on purpose
I start in the top left and work each letter, left to right, top to bottom. If I don't gray out a letter I just move on to the next letter. When I finish the last letter, I look at the grid more "globally" and let my eyes wander around picking out words I missed here and there. I rarely have enough time during the day to the do that part, though.

hi annie i didnt even realize it was a jar to twist the lid off at first but i love the packaging. I have chocolate peanut butter in the freezer ..tried it once and love it
Talenti gelato. Yum!
salt caramel, my fave.
fan, all their ice creams and gelato are fabulous. they are a bit pricey but worht it.
pistachio, yym
hego saw online though that flavor was recalled though i saw it on the shelves when we were at the grocery store
recalled! Oh no!
yes i think they are pricey too and i might have to twist my husband's arm to let me try anoteh flavor of it as well. Seems to be fairly healthy to eat as well?
just that flavor but dont quote me on it but google it and see for sure
gelato is much less fatty than ice cream.
hego yes
I believe they have lots of sugar though. Love them but only get them when there is a sale.
tabby i was trying to figure that out compared to regular ice cream
I think the sugar is comparable.
Depends on the flavor and the brand.
Hubby is diabetic so he can't have any. It's mine...all mine. Heh heh
what am i not seeing? clue for ar 5/10 please

hes a sweetie, even if he is a handful. :)
how old is he
just over a year. we adopted him in December, a surrender from another family.
awwwww perfect bouncing age!
heh, yes. we had a LOT of snow this winter for our area, and we decided hes part kangaroo!
Loki is part Tigger
i like it. :D
let me put an up to date pic up
there. finally!
aww. what a sweetie. :)
he's a brat and overly bouncy. but adorable :D
you may have just described my husband. ;)
LMAO :D
hello again
hello!
help with the ps words please?
I have one babblet ps5
i found the one ending in 3 vowels
they are both 5s:)
Eva is that dog a german shepherd mix?
use some different vowels then ;)
change the last letter to a different vowel
hes a husky mix. we dont know for sure, but we're guessing part german shepherd,
ty eva
one of my fav nudibranchs is in the grid, Okenia
that dog is just beautiful! i love huskies
my husband is OBSESSED with them.
we wanted one + worked through several rescues before we got this guy. we got a god one. ;)
we dont have the outdoor space much for one
i also want a cairn poo to adopt but not easy to find
we have a good-sized back yard, but its a low, split-rail fence. so far, hes only ever been out on a leash (save that one time he bolted out the front door).
we're hoping to tether-train him once it warms up a bit.
tether train him?
a leash?
we have a 30-foot tether in the back yard, but we dont feel comfortable letting him run around unattended until we know it's secure + he wont go nuts. heh
weve tathered him a few times while weve been with him, but its just been too cold to do it over the winter.
those dogs like to roam the outdoors
yeah, which is why it would be nice to be able to hook him to the tether, even if we arent able to sit + watch him the whole time...
they can get hurt that way trying to get loose via their necks can't they? strong dogs
I don't think Eva would do anyrthing that would hurt her dogs!
possibly, yes, which is why we havent done it until we can take the time to train him. if he doesnt take to it, it wont be an option.
i am sure but the tether situation but i understand
plus, he does have a prong collar, which he cant wriggle out of -- the more you struggle, the tighter it gets.
scary
we're learning a lot as we go...some things work + others dont. it's worth a try!
ata what type of dog is in your pic?
as long as no one gets hurt eva .. dog or human:)
cocker spaniel
ABSOLUTELY. we would never intentionally do anything that hurts him.
ata thought so that dog has a nice coat
no you wouldnt eva but you never know
i thought the prong collar would be painful at first, but really, its just a training tool. he doesnt take any notice of it, but its helpful to get him to obey commends when hes on his leash. otherwise, he takes no notice of it.
its a bit floofy cos he's been neutered. but its still lovely and fluffy
it got that way from being neutered?
its what each dog can tolerate. Loki cannot BEAR scissors near him so grooming is a real real trial
i used to have a great pyrenese
yeah, male cockers coats go a bit odd after neutering!
i never knew that ata
it is a bit of a strange thing!
oh, theyre lovely, ML!
yes we had one big dog but so nice
ive always loved pugs, but i think that will have to wait SOME TIME until after Kakashi -- he would probably see a pug as a snack or (more likely, since hes not at all aggressive) a toy!
eva lol and that would not be pretty
I met a boston terrier puppy yesterday, just the most adorabel thing ever
we have a cat and have no idea how she would react to a dog we had other cats and she wanted to play/attack. but she does that anyway
ata arent those adorable !
sooooo adorable
we want to get a dog but not an ankle biting yelper lol

do you have ro4 before the cooking one?
i have 3
lurking but looking at the chat -- in French scrabble there are almost no K words besides kiwi
then you are missing a plural one
the one i just mentioned ends in t
And hello ata!!
hi ruby!
ruby lol how fun
And spring has arrived' the first daff opened today.
how are the chows?
meanwhile, we are allegedly going to get snow tomorrow. saturday is the first day of spring, so it's like winter is flipping us the bird on its way out...
Someone pls tell me, what is the difference between daffodils and jonquils. The French call what I think is a daff, jonquille and they have no other word
It has been so long since I've seen you, ata, that these two are probably unknown to you: Ruffino, the most magnifique male ever (from Italy) and Rafaella, the sauciest longest-haired girl ever \(from Spain)
pi7?
i believe jonquils are a specific type of daffodil...
Raffie looks like someone's idea of an animated fluffy toy
I just remember Ruffino, but not Raffaella
Aaaah, she came after Ruby died
jonquils make clusters daffodils grow individually
So then they can call them what they like, these are daffs, just like they used to sell in subway entrances in NY
Daffodil: This is the official common name for ANY of the plants that fall into the genus Narcissus. So, if the plant is considered a Narcissus, it is also considered a daffodil as well. However, most people use the term “daffodil†when referring to the large, trumpet-shaped flowers of the Narcissus pseudonarcissus. These are those big, showy, familiar bulbs that bloom in spring that we all know and love. Jonquil Jonquil: This term actually refers to a specific type of daffodil known as Narcissus jonquilla, although the name is often used as a more general term for daffodils in certain parts of the country. They are most easily identified by their dark green, tube-shaped leaves as compared to other types of daffodils which have flat leaves. Jonquils also tend to have clusters of several flowers, instead of just one bloom, along with a strong scent.
pi 7 please?
Within two weeks I will have daffs, tulips, primroses and fruit-tree flowers
i am so jealous ruby
we have a large peonie plant on the front yard. they dont last long, but they are SO lovely.
I loooove peonies
Thank you, ata. These have flattish leaves and long stems but are not very showy, maybe because they' were here before we bought the house, so the bulbs are at least 17 yrs old
Peonies are my favorites, and they are all starting to push up
ours are self-sustaining, which is wonderful, as i have a black thumb. our house's previous owners planted them + ive never had to do anything with them other than pull weeds.
i keep wanting to get soem fruit trees and some crepe myrtle
but we have ye tto do so
once flowered, the heads are so heavy that they pull down + dont last long, so i was thinking this year i may invest in a peonie cage-thing that holds the weight of the blooms... but ill probably forget.
We have white ones with yellow centers that are the size of dinner plates. Then there are lots of ordinary pink ones and one magnificent magenta, my favorite
When I planned the garden, I had 15 trees (some fruit, some note) and lots of berry bushes planted. But this garden has evolved in many different ways. Lots of thing died off and others spread like crazy
we planted a peach tree in the back yard when my husband's nana passed a year + a half ago. im hoping it gives us some fruit this year!
Eva" I just bought soe peony "tuteurs" yesterday, basically a small metal pole with a detachable and moveable ring
A
hi gail
yes, thats it, ruby!
are they easy to use?
We had a small sanguine peach tree which fruited for two years. The second year it had about 200 peaches and then died.
last great effort
es, and you raise the ring as the plant gets taller. They're dark green and I lose a couple every year
"Gave up its soul"
And I have a wonderful fig tree that was exactly my size when it was planted and is now enormous and gives figs twice some years
phantom"akita
are the two 8s along the same lines?

Back to finish, hi, everyone!
Forecasted for up to 3 inches of SNOW tomorrow for Philadelphia. Yes, on the first day of spring. They changed all the pothole fixing trucks back to salt and plow trucks.
lol. Our road works department has to wait for the ground to thaw. This way we can go from winter to roadwork season then right back to winter again at the end of October:)
... well there is usually a week in August where it is 40c and we all burn to a crisp, then we go right to winter:)

Clued at 7:56, mkg.
there are non stinky cheeses that are ok. swiss, muenster, etc.
Chinese food? are you kidding?
Velveeta is not cheese,
true, mkg... but she prefers the more esoteric stuff.
*imagines Velveeta on a dim sum tray
velveeta is like mac and cheese i believe
even "american" cheese... i think is gross.. and so does she
Mmm, cheese food. On that note, check your Mac and Cheese boxes, there's a recall for some Kraft boxes for metal filings found in them.
hi folks

hi welki. kraft makes the best cream cheese though.

dorens, what the heck is vegetable ash and why is it in that cheese?
LOL.. I bet you do
makes it taste better welki
i don't really know welk, but it is goood.
Humboldt fog is delish
especially with a nice sauvignon blanc
they make another cheese (whoever makes humboldt fog) and it's even better. just can't remember what it is
i wish they had some info about that ash on their website - i've never heard of it, is it something common? (it's cypress grove)
i was aghast when i saw my son and his wife give Phoebe the humboldt Fog, La Tur, etc. Not because they're 'sophisticated' but because theyr'e over $20 a pound. I thought it was a waste giving that stuff to a 3 year old. But she does have good taste
they make mount Tam cheese which is killer too
It's an artery clogger though
lots of interesting cheeses on their site - hehe, lamb chopper
truffle tremor. truffle tremor is amazing!
ok folks. i'm done and moving on now. have a book to read. see you tomorrow?

Yeah, welki, life has been very busy for me up to about November 2014. Taking a break, and coming back to Babble now.

Foghorn Leghorn's pirate impression ..

Yesterday's was worse, harp, only 55 words, but I didn't know more than 20 of them off the top of my head.

and YAY harp!
I got 40 words to go, stids, can clue if you need
no thanks, JB -- I am well past halfway which is my weekday goal. Just going to keep the monkeys happy for a while and watch futurama with Grant! (btw, I am no longer the parent of a teenager -- he is now 20, and Matthew is 22!)
keenoat as in i'm the keenoat speaker at this spelling conference
LOL Harry!
I know, I've been checking up on you! Creepy that is not, because you have them on your blog :) So happy that your house is home now.
I'm not going to finish this grid. 100 left and I think I'm done
:-) Took a while. Yesterday was two years, and I am SO glad that "anniversary" is over! Now I feel as if I can get on with my life.
85 here, Harry -- I am almost ready to turn in...
I have a horrid cold and my eyes are closing
I'm so happy for you, getting your teaching job, stid, and all the good things that have happened for you and your family.
Oh, Harry, sorry you're not feeling well. This grid may NOT help, either! LOL for the keenoat speaker.
oh, so sorry to hear that Harry -- there is something going around our school -- two kids out today!
kids have all had colds, and now it's my turn. nyquil awaits!!! woohooo!!
and thanks JB. I hope someday you can come see it in person. It's a lovely yard, though there is still a lot of work needed post-construction.
Sounds like a thinly veiled cry for
'come help me weed my yard!'
LOL JB! More like "come talk to me while -I- weed!" I love to work in the yard, but must have company in case the hip gives out while I am working.
Oh, so it's more like 'carry me in the house when my hip gives out'! Ha!
*grin* you know me SO well!
Poor stiddy, I will shuttle iced MJCLs to you all day long, and we will talk all night due to the caffeine content :)
perfect! :-D
how about you? how much digging out do you need to do this spring? Seems almost everywhere had more snow than we did!
So glad we
STOOPID keyboard! we are not in Boston! All our snow is gone, BUT we are supposed to get 3 inches tomorrow. On the first day of spring!
wow. Too much! Yes, my uncle and his family who live near Boston have had WAY too much!
My mother lives an hour north of Boston, and my brother lives just a few miles from her house. She was very happy to have him come snowblow the driveway this winter, and start the generator as needed.
brothers come in handy, sometimes
well, my tom is home and I am down to 72. I will go grade those papers, eat supper and head to sleep early.
SO glad to "see" you -- hope you'll stop by frequently!

GN again, stid, sweet Babble dreams, and may you finish your next grid!
