TBH, Rose, I hardly use the pure maple syrup. it is very intense stuff in its sweetness and I only use it now and then, mostly in recipes. I top my pancakes with a sprinkle of sugar and some lemon juice instead

jmc, i have fibromyalgia. the last lot of knee surgery damaged a nerve in my knee. the pain of it constantly triggers my FM.
i now have local anaesthetic patches which i can stick over the nerve. so that pain is negligible. i feel i could walk miles, but have been told to take it easy.
i'm sorry i should have remembered that. . . fibromyalgia is terrible. . .a good friend of mine in Tx has it too. . . . i am sorry to hear the knee surgery triggered it but glad to hear that it seems you have gotten past the worst of it. . .
