Hey there, Liz.
I also have today's Lickety - just checked.
Hi Peach :)
Thanks, Liz.
BBL
Hope you sleep soon, Flosey and Peach
Thank you, Liz. It would be wonderful to go to bed and go to sleep....instead, I think about the silliest things.
I'll be back in a little while.

WTG DIZ!!!!!
a top of the morning to y'all
hey sprite :-)
hi Une :)
whoot!!!! {{hugs}}} my dear sprite
*hugs rose* Hello dear friend, that's been a while. Happy to see you again :)
ditto, dear. how were your days? you have been very busy i see.
Hi and hugs
{{hugs}} liz girl
hello Liz! *hugs*
my days were awesome, though tiring. Yeah it was a bit busy but so worth it :) How did you fare those last few days?
and you, Liz, how are you today?
Alls good here. Had a good time last night, Rose.
had to resort to paracetamol for the first time in nearly 4 weeks. i was really achy. not long to go now. * sigh *
Take it easy tomorrow if you can.
two more days, darling. Hang in there. And take it very very easy during those days.
liz, that's great. did the old biddies keep off those to5s?
(what Liz says)
Less than 2 here. Late afternoon here :)
Yes they did. We had some good chat with friends.
Got a couple of nice pics too.
oh wow!! it makes such a difference when you aren't being wound up.
Very true.
No need to bite our tongues.
like my easter family lunch together without our mother there. the atmosphere was completely different.
And the weather was lovely too. We stayed outside all evening.
how nice. it has been too long since we had such moderate weather here.
COOEE!!!!! where did everyone go? i'm bored. are we there yet?? what's for dinner?? can i have an icecream??
lol I am here.
whew!! i thought i would have to go eat some worms.
*hands rose an icecream*
short fat slimy ones
I knew some of those in my time
oh, ta, sprite. can i have sprinkles on it too, please?
One serving of worm sprinkles coming up...
and a cherry on top???
duh, of course not. This is BABBLE. Banana on top.
don't want it now. it's gone all melty and is running down my arm.
nag, nag, nag
waaaahhhh, liz, sprite's being mean to me
such a spoilt little girl. Someone has to take you in hand, little lady.
* hits sprite over the head with melty icecream *
ok, that's it for you. Off to bed with bare feet.
but, but, but.....
but me no buts.
or should i say big butt, big butt, big butt.
*looks at her butt* You got a point there.
i do NOT have a pointy butt
two points even
roflol....and don is looking at me strangely.
walk up to him slowly... bend your head towards his ear... and softly whisper: "I. Killed. Mufasa."
NO WAY!! he would have me in the rubber room quicker than a wink.
.... Back :)
*giggles*
welcome back, Liz!
wb liz...where did you go my lovely??
Hmmm. Not seeing more words though.
Not to my bed!
where do you go to my lovely.... when you're alone in your bed... what are the thoughts that surround you... I want to look inside your head, yes I do...
oh, she is quick is our liz.
;)
hehehe
and so is our sprite. take a bow, ladies.
Good reference, rose
*takes bow. Runs off with bow. Watches Liz's dress unravel*
oh my, is the world ready for this... an unravelled liz...
More like shorts and tshirt
darn she is beautiful
Totally unravelled.
tsk Liz, you cannot have a bow on a tshirt. Or on shorts.
Hangs head. Why not. Pouting!
careful liz, she has already sent me to bed with bare feet.
because it looks like... well... never mind. Here's your bow back. Put it on anything you like. Can't resist that pout.
Only the feet?
huh???!!!!????
yeah so far. But if Rose keeps it up, things will become nekkid fast.
SHE gets away with a pout...
evil, isn't it? But look at that pout. That takes practice, rose.
Lol
Years of practice. In fact years and even more years.
nooooo. not gonna look. nasty liz. nasty sprite. pfui
it shows.
Smiling now. Happy face.
*hugs rose* You've got the cutest smile, sweetie. We can't all be great in the same things, now can we?
So you don't like my smile. Pout! Lol!
yeah, liz. I'VE got the cutest smile.
lololllll I love you both very much
Eyes shut ;)
Love ta both too
Ya
i love you three
and yay for the autocorrect!@
Yeah. Auto correct strikes again.
so glad i have turned the auto correct off. it would drive me bonkers. ( yeah, i know. short drive)
I cannot stand any autocorrect or even spelling check. If I want advice, I'll ask for it. For the rest, leave me alone! Stupid machines.
Do you ever think the grid letters are all in the wrong place?
what sprite said. i like to make my own mistakes...lolol
Also have to blame careless fingers on iPad!
repeatedly, Liz. Sometimes I lift up the screen and shake.
oh absolutely, liz. not only that, but the wrong letters altogether.
Halted at 70
our LoriP used to correct it with crayons. Purple crayons, to be precise.

WTG SPRITE!!!!
{{hugs}} liz girl. enjoy your evening.
sprite, what's on for the rest of your weekend?
not much, sweetie. I am in a lot of pain, and dead tired. I think I may go lie down in a few minutes, and just read a little. And maybe doze off, if I am lucky.
will email you later today and tell you all the new developments... dietician visit was interesting to say the least, lol.
sounds like a good plan, dearest. i'm not surprised at the pain. when you are ready, email me andfill me in on the sessions with Noud.
will do! *hugs* and I hope you will be able to sleep. Warming vibes to your foot and cooling breezes to the rest of you!
thanx sweetheart. sweet repose for you. {{hugs}} xoxox
oh, oh, sprite you still here?
yes I am, sorry

was distracted by a phonecall. Wazzup, darling?
*giggle* it has been noticed o-o hasn't been on for a while. some of us are concerned.
yeah me too. I know he was in very very low spirits a while back, and I heard he was given a new medication regime. Not an easy thing, it is a delicate balance and it may take a long time to settle down again.
could you please try and email him?
even if he doesn't answer, at least he would know we care about him.
sure. Just don't know if his email addy is still valid. But will do. *hugs*
well if it doesn't bounce, surely that means it is still valid.
go and lie down, sweetie. xoxox it can wait.
dinner ready. bbl. xoxox

Good morning/evening friends!

She is fine. still abead though

Pickin on poor crossy:(
Howdy, car
You will have to bear with me. drifted off to feed the cats:)
Now I shall focus on breathing:)))
roflool....darling crossy. good for you
Good morning.
g'day car.ee
Hello sukee
and good morning sukee
Hi car, Rose, crossy.
nah, nah, nah. i get a capital R so there
:)
*giggle*
i am being so naughty to night...
good morning, Rose, Sukee, Crossy, Car, lurkers
Hi lbd.
whoot!! {{lbdawger}}
morning sukee, LBD et al:)
Watch it. Rose is feisty:))
*chuckling*
Today is a good day actually. have an interview scheduled for a new job tomorrow. Been a long two years upgrading my edumacation. Time to get rolling:)
hey lit. major...isn't it i before e except after c?
there are dozens of exceptions that break that rule, rose
I think someone counted once. Something like 66 exceptions that break that old chestnut
nope... not going there... you are the lit. major.
soooo... what is the new job??
here are a list of words that break that rule...
http://tinyurl.com/96wtcuv
English is such a fun language, glad I am a native speaker.
good luck with the interview, crossy. you'll wow them, i'm sure! must be off for now, bbl to finish.
New job is working in a retirement villa kitchen. That and my new TA duties at the school should keep me busy
zeitgeist is my favorite of those words.
The English language is a mess!
lol, sukee. Not one that hits the babble grids that often:)
Bye lbd.
HAGD Dawg
tc LBD
My fave off that list is onomatopoeia
some of those should not be there. for instance the ones with the gerund finish.
The place is a great set-up. You have a bunch of condo units in one building and the kitchen/dining room, laundry and medical clinic in the building right next door--all on the same property
ttfn lbdawger.
Nice Crossy!
Ineed, Rose. there are some debatable words on there, but most fit the bill
how many hours/week is that crossy?both jobs combined??
25 at the school and 10-15 at the villa
per wk
so, not bad at all
And I am not on a fixed, ridged schedule at the school.
not too bad, crossy. is elegant going to be okay with you away that long?
what are TA duties, crossy?
I am sure she will be fine. She chafes a bit when i try and do too much for her these days anyways. Even with her disability she like to get her hand into doing a few tings.
I assist two different teachers in high school and college level english
good for her, crossy. as i do here..
When students need a bit more one-on-one, but the teacher is trying to teach two different grades at once. that is where I can step in and reinforce some concepts or lessons.
woohoo!! crossy is going to be so untouchable we won't be able to talk to him....lololol
Like using capitals at the start of a sentence. :)))
hahaha......not this little black duck...
it is work, like any other. No better or worse that any other job I have held... well, at least I am not breaking rocks with a sledgehammer;)
with leg-irons on....
Rosie the rebel:))
you better believe it, crossy... never one to follow the yellow brick road...
I am still learning as well. It is difficult at times to just guide the students and not jump in and mistakenly alter their voice in a English assignment
Always blaze a trail and never follow a path.
i hear you, crossy. each to their own.
I have that problem too, Crossy. When I look over my son's homework, especially writing, I want to change everything...forgetting that I am NOT a 12 YO boy and he is.
There is a famous poem about the road less traveled, but for the life of me, I cannot remember who wrote it.
it can be very hard at times, car;)
robert frost
ty, found it just as you posted:)
Stats for the E in the second column please?
Called "The Road Not Taken"
that can be my tidbit of the day..
the road not taken by robert frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveler, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the better claim Because it was grassy and wanted wear, Though as for that the passing there Had worn them really about the same, And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black. Oh, I kept the first for another day! Yet knowing how way leads on to way I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two roads diverged in a wood, and I, I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference. --Robert Frost

Question for the ladies; is there a proper name for those tiny, short jackets that ladies wear with a formal evening gown?
yup crossy
Might be a bandelero or something like that?
a bolero??
bolero, shrug
good morning
shrug
ty. Name was on the tip of my tongue and driving me nuts. guess I could have just googled it:)
Yes, shrug.
Hi JBV
I just noticed you should take a short trip to the PB crossy.
If you say so *shrug's shoulders*
Hi everybody
and Rose :)
g'day jbv
hope you're all enjoying a nice spring day - temperature hit 78 here yesterday - so nice
I over-corrected a paper of my sons once when he was in primary school, and the teacher sent ME a grade--an F! and asked that I let the wife help with my sons work in the future:)
and g'day teach
We had a beautiful spring day yesterday too, about the same temperature.
a shrug is also a possibility.
78!! we would have the AC going full tilt or be off for a swim in the bay:))
crossy, are youworking in a high school?
best we hit yesterday was 9C
We got up to 20C.
jbv, we seem to have skipped autumn/fall and gone straight into winter.
well, grannyrose, I certainly hope your winter is better than the one we just had here
it was endless snow, arctic cold (sorry, crossy, I know my "arctic" is not the same as yours)
don't know why that posted twice ???
oh, nm
I am working in a learning centre. it is for 18+ age students. We get a mix of high school students missing just a credit or 2 for their O.S.S.D and also get mature student coming back to finish what they did not have a chance to complete decades ago.
i'm blind
jbv, we rarely have snow at this elevation. but up the mountain, about 20 minutes from our home, there is quite often snow.
sounds like a great job - lucky kids to have you
I am the lucky one. I have learned so much there and it has opened many doors that were previously lock and bolted.
do your teachers do peer editing and review - that is, students read, comment and offer suggestions to each other
helps reduce the reading load on the teachers and builds self-monitoring
I do peer editing if asked, but they are supposed to peer edit each other as well, but for some reason that rarely happens. they shy away from showing each other their work
peer editing has to be taught
we used to start it in third grade
it has been but they fight it tooth and nail
give them models of what to say and not say
yes, I understand
there has to be a certain level of trust among the group
You should see the battle to get them up to do a presentation or group work
but it's wonderful when you see it happening
then you run into the problem of one or two in a group having to carry several who just coast. hard to mark and weed out the ones who are just seat warmers
NBS and NBT - breakfast and need to get ready for the day ahead - BBL this afternoon
how many students in the class
ty grannyrose
small class this time around. just 20 students (had to drop about 15 over the last 3 weeks)
you mean it was 35 to begin with?
20 is not too bad
oh my...what did i do?? i hope it was something helpful.
yup, give or take
one teacher and you
yes
good ratio
Yes! Stats for the E...I am a little late getting back to you
she teacher two englsih classes in there and one on-line university class
teaches
I have a friend who's teaching an online course - she hates it
xoxox car.ee
says it more work than she ever imagined
lots of time online with each students and lots of administrative tasks
I've never done - either as teacher or student
All I know is this teacher goes non-stop. Thankfully she is off next term for 6 weeks. i will be shuffled to a high school English class. her college classes will resume in september
I"m sure you are learning a lot
Continuous learning is fun and something we should all strive for. I learn new things every day:)
The nuances of the English language are staggering and never ending:)
me too, crossy
i am up to my 4th glass of red wine.time for me to go to bed....god bless you all...
you know I'm taking graduate courses in Italian
bye grannyrose
tc, Rose, and have a good sleep:)
Daddio should so be there :)
Take care Rose.
very nice, JBV. I have always wanted to take up a second language.
Good night Rose! Sleep sweet
forgive my ignorance but do you live in a French-speaking area
if anything, i would re-learn french. Just the standard, run-of-the-mill Quebecois french. it works well enough overseas anyways.
I agree sukee
I am a 6 hour drive from Quebec
I speak French - but haven't had a chance to speak it in a long time
I watch French TV online sometimes just to make sure I can understand ti
But we have many areas that are predominantly French like the town of Timmins. We also has a CFB base that draws mostly those of Quebec descent
CFB?
Many northern communities have a large french concentration as well
canadian forces base
ty
Sorry, I should have clarified a bit;)
good morning all. help with 8's pls. I have pr8/55
np
my next language to learn should be Welsh so I can get a few more Babble words : )
problem was that when i was in school French was forced upon us. The obvious result of this was that as soon as we finished out mandatory classes we ended up dropping it
at 8 - it's a plural
I do not have at7. looking
di 8 /50 and 8/55
There are 2 PR 8's; 8/50 and 8/55
Now there is another idea--welsh, the language of my heratige. Would be very interesting to learn it
Are the two PR8s related? I have the 8/55
help with the at7 pls
If you google the singing group "Only Boys Aloud" you can hear some beautiful welsh hymns
thanks, crossy, I'll check it out
No
The other is an action / alien movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger
Ty car.
I actually had to google his movies :)
I have had a great weekend of action movies: First Blood, Rambo, and James Bond.
Now I only need 5 more 8 letter words :)
But I have time.
WEll, I still only have the one eight
ty car
I also watched Devil's Own with Harrison Ford and Brad Pitt....damn, that is one beautful man!
Oh! I also watched a Lara Croft movie
help with the at7/8 pls
Yes, Harrison sure is :)
Yes, he is yummy too!
I think he looks awesome with the silver hair in the new Star Wars movie trailer!
I know, so excited for that movie "Chewy, we're home!"
off to do a few Sunday things - bye for now
I hope Disney steps up and does the movie franchise justice. The I, II and III movies, although strong in story, were horrible.
HAGD JBV
Me too, they have to live up to 4,5 and 6.
We watched the modern version of Sabrina, starring Harrison Ford last night. sadly, the mrs is very pick on her action movies, and getting one we both agree on is like pulling teeth:(
I was not a fan of the other movies, I prefer the original cast :)
As far as I am concerned, they have to live up to Empire Strikes Back!
REturn of the Jedi was also a bit painful.
Exactly, Empire Strikes Back was the best.
Audrey makes a much better Sabrina imho
I was on the radio the other day discussing the digital enhancements of those first three movies. They should re-release them as they were originally.
I think so too Crossy.
I agree crossy :)
she does indeed, crossy
morning all - peri the at 7/8 i have is a variation on the spelling for the nightshade poison. no e at the end
I like a good romance movie too, now and then.
I agree car, the originals were fine the way they were. I even saw them on a huge screen and they were fine.
And as much as I like Harrison, he is no Bogie.
ty Wolvie
I don't know that nightshade poison (goes to google...)
ty Wolvie!
welcome :-)
Google came to my rescue
:-)
The added scenes are useless. The films stand for what technology was available at the time...and it was amazing just the way it was. I remember that first scene of Star Wars with the Imperial ship flying across the screen and it still makes my blood pump.
Great, now we have all googled nightshade poison, it will look interesting if the police ever look at our browser history.
Haaa Sukee - love it
:D
We can just say we were trying to find the Stevie Nicks album, Bella Donna.
Hubby and #1 son just left for camping with the scouts overnight. Anyone want to come take my mom for the night so I can have a day/night to myself?
dont everyone rush in at once lol
No shit
LOL
lol- seriously i understand Car- went thru a long road with my Mom :-)
I love her dearly, but I am burnt.
But in the grand scheme of things, right now she is so low maintenance
I have the nightshade poison, but still cannot see the at 7 or 8
yup- i hear that too.
Howdy, Wovie
drop the E from the end Crossy
Wolvie*
Can I have the stats for the K?
I have tried everything I can think of.
ka 4/9
got it. ty:)
well crossy that is the only at 7/8 i have - tro 6/21 with an a infront for the 7, then plural for the 8.
morning all!
Ty, got it.
Hello uusue!
Pretty obvious now I see it.
suze!!
Hi sue
lol- cool- i have to go rustle up some breakfast- those dang nerf herders :D
I need a clue for the Di 8's please?
it is always obvious to me once I know the answer:))
LOL!
Now, when I hear "nerf herder" i think of the Family Guy version and Peter belts Lois for saying it.
FYI...they are playing some beautiful music on the Pandora Traditional Country Hymns station this morning.
I do not know why, but when you mentioned "Nerf herder" I got a mental image of Homer Simpson trying to herd a field full of those chia pet sheep..see? this is what the 70's did to me:)
Makes me think nerf balls.
:)
Nerf balls... is that some sort of new male enhancement?? Just soak em in water and watch them expand lol
<--- just spit out coffee....
lol... knew that was going to happen. I better get a tea. brb:)
8 0
I too wouldn't mind a steer on the di words?
I'm off for a bit too, see you all soon.
HAGD sukee
My goal in life is to have 300 women from all parts of the globe laugh so hard they spit coffee all over their monitors in unison:)
The di words have a three letter word for "choose" in the middle and end in a Brit way
You may have succeeded in that this morning, my dear!
One ends in most of frozen water
Oh god. They are ophthalmology words and I missed them. I am so ashamed. :(
Ah haaah!
Thanks Molly - good clues
Good morning, Molly and TYVM
No need for shame, Car
Its my profession, Molly...I should be shamed!
hello all, btw - but I think we're going out soon
Howdy, Matty
Hi and bye then Matty! HAGD!
Okay then, if the shame is working for you.
huh, I thought of the di words but not of the British spelling. Thanks!
It's how I roll, Molly...LOL!
Sue, that ending trips me up every time.
Ooooh! Elvis gospel!
C'mon everyone...lets get some harmonies on!
My favorite version of How Great Thou Art is my uncle's. He's from Massachusetts and sings it How Great Thou Ahht
Nice!
Trif bought me a book for my kids, The Wicked Big Toddlah. It is sooooo funny :)
I thought that was a little kids book
It is...she bought it for us when the kids were little.
Ah
My boys brought it in to school for their classes to enjoy as well...everyone loved it. It was wicked pissah!
Does the tawdlah drink tawnic?
Nah...he's only a baby...but he does sleep in a boat for a crib.
I'll never forget the arguments I used to have with my cousins over the pronunciation of the word FORTY and the fact that tonic is tonic and coke is soda.
There are so many strange variations of words on the East coast.
I was a bit hit in Hawaii
found one of the di8 thanks
can't figure out the 2nd
At that point, I had yet to go far south and figure out the whole co-cola thing
Thanks for the di8's, got them
hello everyone
Hello Annie!
Which did you find, Peri?
found the 2nd di8 ty
The second is the same as the first but sub in most of frozen water for the last two letters
Hi car.
hi all
hi peri
bbl
is the 4th column D one of the di8's?
hi car
hi peri
hi annie
Both come from that D
Hello MLF
hi mlfan
no fan
The 4th column d is the only d that attaches to an i
are either chemical or medical?
yes, fan, sorry, it is the 4th column
There is di 7 & 8 which have to do with the amount of correction in your glasses.
But use the British spelling at the end
Then, use Molly's clue (most of the frozen water) for the ending of the other di 8
Pup wants to go out. Have a wonderful day everyone {{group}}
bye car. (())
I got the di 8/55
corner I?
io4
fan, drop the last 2 letters and add 2/3 of frozen water for the other di8
duh hiding in plain site ty molly
nbt and nbs
I am still missing the N in the middle column and all the Es in the second column...
matty, na 5/10---nostrils
nose holes?
Got it eventually
:D
hello
LA8?
You wear a fa5 dress to a formal event. My dress is fa8. Now make that an la word
And plural it
more so?
fa8 meaning more so
ty molly I just got it to work
thanks, molly
Of course there is no definition for that word, because Enable can't be bothered with such things
too fancy for them
Is my puzzle different? I don't have an F in it at all.
no mimi it was for a clue
LA8 is similar
So an f was given for a clue that has no f? Interesting choice. Glad I'm not totally going senile.
fa5 and fa8 were used as "like words" for the la8. The clue said "now make that an la8"
it makes sense though ot get the word mimi:)
Of course all that was for naught since MLF just used the fa5 word
lol I did:)
OK. Maybe too early here. Not seeing that at all either. More tea......
It's probably just easier to spell the word out with *s
no, molly, better to firgure it out and more fun
it has a strange definition if you google it
going to change a shower curtain, bbs
How many psychologists does it take to change a shower curtain? Only one...but it has to really want to change.
mimi did you try it and it didn't work out the way you wanted it to?
Nope...just let that one go. No energy this morning...not much sleep last night. I never get them all anyway. I just play for fun and the chat.
i had that problem a few nights ago
I can't stand dealing with curtains of any kind. Or blinds. Two of my most hated household chores.
i don't mind curtains but then again i don't take them down or put them up
Blinds hardly ever want to cooperate
I hate all household chores except cooking---sometimes. I'd rather work a couple of hours more doing transcription and pay someone to do that. My best friend of 49 years and I were great roommates when we were young....she loved to clean and I loved to cook. We joke that we'll be together again when we get really old, rocking in our chairs on the porch, sharing memories, and telling each other the same stories over and over...and they'll seem new each time!
Chores get in the way of enjoying life, yet they are necessary...sigh.
Not as necessary if your standards are low!
The only people I know who don't do housework are the ones with rich husbands : D
I have come to tolerate dust and clutter more and more as I get older. Priorities change with wisdom.
They still do "housework," just a different "type!"
Me, too, Scrab. I live alone and if I'm not in the mood to clean, I just tell myself that, hey, I've already seen it dirty so it won't hurt to wait another day!
My kinda housework..
Oh I don't know Mimi, I have a feeling some of them don't do too much of that "work" either.
((ruru))
Good morning, Ruru.
clue for la8, anyone?
You may have a point, Molly. Guess it depends on how old the husband is and how fond he is of "outside interests."
Would being naked with just an apron on be too obvious?
Loving the imagery, ruru..........
And what am I walking into now?
Though these days, I think I'd be more appealing with an overcoat.
It's okay if you stand with your back to a wall.
men ta

I clean them too. This all got started with me saying it is one of my most hated household chores. That and dealing with curtains, which I am doing today.
Yeah. It isnt my fave either
Actually, this started with me saying I was going to change my shower curtain
which I did
lol
End of housework for the day
Now shower curtain (liners) I will not clean. Those I replace.
Me too, just did.
The last of the snow in my yard melted away yesterday.
I did housework yesterday. Today is my day off
hurray! If Scrabs has spring, then it's officially here!
hi, all, so excited. I have a date tonight. My husband, my daughter, her father and stepmother are going to see Neil Diamond in concert!
The ski resort across the valley has lots of snow remaining. It is always interesting to see how long it takes to melt.
Sweet Caroline!
Have a great time Angel!
Are you near austin angel?
yes, ruru
Nice that you, your husband and your ex get along well enough to go out together
I was born and raised in Austin, and we live less than an hour away now.
yes, indeed. it has been a long road for us, but we are cordial now
the concert is completely sold out. we got our tickets when they went on sale in October....good seats, too.
good morning, everyone
hi Nan
Hi Nan
I haven't seen Neil Diamond in concert in a long time. He used to put on a fabulous show.

It's worth going to see him just to see Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show and Comin' To America live. I could never hear Sweet Caroline again and live a happy life though.

G'night all. See you tomorrow.
I was just hit with a nasty malware attack. over 30 hits according to Malware bytes. It disabled both my browsers and corrupted Chrome O.S forcing a re install. I was fortunate that I already had malware bytes installed otherwise I would have had to wipe the hard drive and re-install win 7:(
Show how useful some security programs can be:)
wow crossy! at least you know what to do
Indeed, bugsaw.
Must be a new improved one to kill both browsers like that
I will have to get the premium version of malwarebytes soon so I can have active scanning.
how did the malware attack you?
I use stumbleupon and visit many sites. it comes with the territory
Sooner or later you will get hit
oh.. I guess those porn sites are dangerous :D
is malwarebytes a program to protect or to find them
So i make sure that i have the tools onboard to fix it
They can be
i ask the Mrs not to visit them so often:)
hi fellas
HA! good response
Howdy, bugsaw
hi bugs
to find and remove them. the premium version adds real time protection
probably costs a lot too tho, right?
Interesting that Microsoft security essentials let it though...
Don't know, bugsaw. i am content with the free one> I have no issues cleaning up after the fact
I like free
Rems
it is 25 dollars/per year for three computers, bugsaw
that is close to free then. Thanks
Oops. Sorry. Typed in wrong box
not bad at just over 8 dollars per year per computer:)
If you are interested in the premium version, bugsaw. here is the link... http://tinyurl.com/mhgsrbl
waves to sap
firewords! tx grannyrose, Molly, zoozzoom and all cluers. at7 that ends like memory loss was my last
but this program did not stop the malware from attacking you so now I wonder if I should get it....
Hi all and congrats, Dan
No. The free has no real-time protection remember
it only finds it and eradicates it
well done Dan. I am tired of this one so will wander off for a bit
Yaa for dan!!
if they gave it all to use with the free version, they would never sell anything:)

sorry gwen
I stopped being tech-savvy at y2k.
every once in a while it just comes on by itself, as if someone is mooching off my internet, but i don't know if that's really what's happening
any1 have a clue for the K?
you can turn off the wifi
on your modem there's login information - a url and login and password. there will be options to turn off the wifi

boy, this grid is stumping me. any clues for the 8s? i have none. nor 7s.
Hi, mkg, any luck with the 7s or 8s yet?
omg, look whos here!
got pr 8. and have two 7s:both pr's.
Hi, TO! How yo' doin?
said in true Philly style
:D
mks, there
is a po7 that's a mushroom
ty. will find it.
i dont see bello in grid. so dont know the mushroom word. sorry
TO, a most gorgeous day today. Spent time (and her money!) with a friend over at a design warehouse called Material Culture. What a cool place!
oh yes, we held mardi gras dance there = but the icy weather prevented many from attending . did you eat there?
mkg, try a little pig, like in fake Italian
help with PO 6 before the mushroom please
No, too late to eat, the cafe was closed already, we had eaten at Iron Hill Brewery in Chestnut Hill, then walked the avenue and shopped the 'tiques at the top of the hill.
i am missing la 8
wv, like a pea, past tense
LA 8 - add a extra vowel to people who poke holes in you
Hi wv, think of k-cups for your Keuring, they are po4, and the po you are asking for is past tense.
thnx rose
ty, teachy.
I
I
mkg did you get the po7?
Sorry! My apostrophe is perilously close to the enter key on this mobile keyboard =O
so did you dine at their restaurant? I heard its good
No, but we plan on going back, and will try it then. My friend was assisted by the owner's son, who is also a partner in the business, and he was most accommodating. I fell in love with a chair there, if I had room in my dwelling, it would be here now!
didnt get po 7. would love some clues for 7s and 8s please. i only have pr 7s and 8.
i would like to go there. it is neither an easy nor convenient drive from here
Well, that would describe most of Philly!
Hmm, mkg. Peas are in a po4. Make it past tense with a doubled letter in the middle.
that i s particularly out of the way. btw are you still where i saw you last?
No, I left there a few months ago, and am taking a break before heading out to the work force again. It's been nice to really take time for myself, and I truly appreciate being able to. Not retired yet, but can totally understand why people want to be!
Oops, mkg, peas are in po3! Sorry about that...
ty for po. i got a six from that. past tense one. but nothing else. any other clues welcome please!
I need practice clueing
ah, yes, change. big changes here as well. life choices, etc
Okay, there's another pr8 that is the name of a movie, and is another word for a hunter.
i am not retired. sometimes i think i will want to retire and other times i say no way. so we will see what will be.
hunter? hmmm.
nope. i dont get it.
I still want to work in the workforce, I like being around people. Usually. ;)
sorry
premier is not in grid. so i dont see a movie.......
A hunter seeks pr4, that makes the hunter a pr8, the word you are seeking. (hunting? grin)
mkg:alien vs.pr8
got a pr 8 which means someone who hunts. ty.
got it. ty all.
See, TO, so clear, so easy! I like your clues.
keep those clues coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!! panting with expectation..............
i rarely clue, but that one just fits
Yay, mkg! Please don't faint, though.
12 T's left...
jb, you are not in city?
Actually, in Chestnut Hill, right across the street is Montgomery County. I would love to get something even PT in CH, or in Center City, close to bus or RR lines.
i thought of the new einstein, but not acessible via public transit.
and i need to get to green st store soon, with clothing rejects
mkg, there's a tr7 that also has that double letter combo in the middle, if you put the word "down" in front of it, it brings to mind people in hard situations, like war or famine.
Yes, the new Einstein is beautiful, but we don't really want 2 cars, and would need another just to get out there. Oh, and we did go to the Green St store, what fun! It's a really nice place, and I think the prices are reasonable for resale.
mkg, it's an extension of a tr4,5 word.
Whoo hoo! Fireworks :)
yay!
yay!
** finito ** here as well - congrats JB
i am glad to see you, was thinking about you in the last 2 weeks.
ya teach!
Yay, wvteach, wtg!
what made you think about me? time for music festivals?
Yes, TO, saw you a couple of times in the chog in the last couple of weeks. I just took up Babbling again, and am loving it all over once more, but need to be judicious with chatting if I want to finish. Sometimes I would just rather chat!
just got back from spending 5 days in southern part of the state at a music workshop
But even though I've been a member since 2005, I haven't reached a million yet, so that's what I'm currently aiming for. It's good to have a goal.
Oh, what are you a music teacher, wv? (guessing from user name)
Hey, mkg, you making progress?

teach -- I started playing percussion in January!! :-D
Mmm, Mmm, Mmm, love how you take such good care of me, stid!
Not very good at it, but I am getting better! Also teaching third grade, so a lot of "new" things for me.
I would offer MJCLs, but it's a bit late in the day for that.
many of my friends play both lap and hammered - Saturday I was at a gathering that was half hemmered and half lap dulcimers with a sprinkling of other instruments (fiddle, guitar, bsnjo)
Would that be along the lines of banging your head on your desk, stid?
what?
what?
Yah, that's why there's decaf, right?
LOL JBs -- there are some Wednesdays that I truly wouldn't make it without my drums! LOL
what kind of percussion?
*shocked at the blasphemy of JB...*
wv, we lived in Tennessee (near Johnson City) for 7 years before moving to Philly, I loved the folk music there.
we all need our outlets - music of any kinds is a great one
Eastern TN is a great area for good music - but lots of music here in WV
apparently everything, teach. I thought I could do bass drum and maybe triangles or cymbals, but then the regular percussionist (it's a small community orchestra) was really really sick so I ended up trying to play all the parts on a drum set. *crossed eyes* making progress now that I have found a lovely used sn5 drum and a friend gave me a bass pedal (I use it with a cardboard box for a bass drum).
my son and DIL lived for three years in Knoxville - loved that area
I love dulcimer music, growing up in Virginia it was all over the place. That, and clogging, are the things I think I miss most about the tidewater region.
we have quite a number of steel drum groups here in WV
Blasphemy, flasphemy, gotta adapt to getting older. It's about making the choices that allow enjoyment of the experience that will not disrupt normal functioning. I can have my coffee and drink it too! a la Marie Antoinette
Virginia has lots of dulcimer groups
older, JB? *look of wonderment* but but but I thought you were ageless, like a pixie!
I am SURE I never age... *hastily tucks metallic hair under still brown locks*
TO, from way back, Stidmama makes mochajavachocolattes that are out of this world. She would pass them out when the whirlpool was open. We are talking about the OLDEN days here!
I love steel drum music, too -- an artifact of my time in Puerto Rico as a child... actually have some on my tablet that I play for my students during work time.
Hey, even pixies can get overcaffienated, hee hee!
Lately, Grant (who is now working part time at my school) and I have been making coffee in the mornings before we drive in together... so I have that PLUS my jumbo mug of tea every day. Hoping the effects of the caffeine last until the end of the school year!
I think mkg went down for the count, she hasn't replied for a while.
mkg sometimes does that...
Wow! I am almost to halfway!
i just saw singer songwirete Paul Thorn in concert. I recommend him highly.
oh! JB! I have been writing a poem for each day this month! :-D On my blog. I can't write every day, and they aren't often well thought-out (more stream of consciousness), but it's a small goal that I am going to meet. :-)
Oh, nice, Stid. I'm currently a lady of leisure, not retired yet, but taking a break from the workaday world. It's been nice, and very much what I needed. I drink more tea now than coffee.
I know that name, TO -- *runs to look him up*
Yes, I've been seeing them, Stid, very nice, and good on you for taking that on. You have great creative outlets!
Looks interesting, TO.
Thanks, TO, I'll look him up too.
Oh, and TO, LOVE your icon sign, haha. One of my friends has that on her locker, makes me smile every time.
Oh, how nice to have a little time to oneself, JB! I have been dreaming of the days I might be able to carve out a little time on a regular basis.
Favorite singer songwriter was just here in locakl area (unfortunately while I was at the psaltery workshop) - Bill Staines - don't miss him if you have a chance
I am hoping to work summer school if my school has one, could use a little extra to help pay for Matthew (he is almost done with college, but not quite). But I also sort of hope they won't have summer school -- or won't want me. I could make gooooood use of the extra three weeks to clean the house and set up for the next year.
have seen him
We have some catching up to do, Stiddy, truly, but I take every day as a blessing, and am working to reduce my material things to lessen distractions and make more mental and physical room to welcome new thoughts and space to be.
Apparently Mr. Staines has another musician in his family! Looks interesting, too. *wishing for way more time*
good night all - have a dulcimer class to teach in the moring
GN, wv, nice chatting with you, and thanks for the artist reco's!

And I need to go as well, hubby has day off tomorrow, and we are going to do errands nice and early. Yay, grocery shopping, whoo hoo. At least we have Wegmans here.
It is getting late here, too. Have a lovely week, all! *poof*
Stiddy, and TO, SO GOOD to "see" you both, I will definitely chat you up when I next see you here! Good night! *poof*
