nononanette what have you done???
hi Rose, think I must have been asleep but wakened out of a dream!
oh my, look a the time! had no idea it was this late
lol, flosey. are your dentures still in your mouth??
MIL did that once, and couldn't find her denture for nearly two days.
oh my !!
how could one lose such a thing!!
wouldn't one leave them in a cup of water?
she was nearly blind. didn't tell us for that length of time. but i found them on thefloor under the chair she had fallen asleep in.
poor soul!
she finally admitted why she couldn't eat her food. lol
did she live with you then?
yes flosey. she lived with us for the final 8 years of her life.
wow, that must have been a bit difficult for you?
I could never have lived with my mil
it was, but she was very sweet and so independent. we did all her shopping, cooking, dishes, washing, ironing. and ferried her to most of her appointments which were very numerous.
ah, you must truly be a saint
shhhhh, don't say it out loud you will ruin my reputation.
but then, she was sweet and independent, that alone makes all the difference - my mil was NOT
neither was my mother. if it had been her, i would been in prison for matricide.
good morning :)
{{hugs}} dear sprite. xoxox
my darling rose, you could have hired me as your hit woman ;)
hi flosey :)
lol Rose, that I do understand - My mom lived with us for a while after Dad died, we got along just fine - then my sister decided it was her turn, so she went to live with them - still came to visit us - she was a sweet, gentle soul
hi Sprite
wow, did I kill the conversation or what?
lol, such as it was Sprite - MILs !!
brb. himself is going out and i am alone for the first time in days. it is his birthday tomorrow and i need to write his card and wrap his present. will fill in the details when i come back.
or should I say MIL's vs. Ms
I could have lived with my MIL for a while. She was feisty and fun and rather sweet. But I couldn't live with my mother at all. Have met her 3 times in the last year and each time it took her all but 10 minutes before she started mean remarks to me. She is not a nice person, lol.
ah Sprite, how awful for you to grow up in that environment
yes it did quite some damage. But I am happy to say that most of it is really in the past for me now. Took lots of therapy, but the rewards are all mine :)
I bet it sure would be one awful time getting over! so sorry to hear
some women just should never have children
thanks for caring. And oh yes, that is so true. My parents never should have had children. But on the other hand, I am glad to exist. They gave me life and for that I am grateful.
good for you - the light at the end of the tunnel - but what a trip!
also, flosey, I realise that they are the products of their own upbringing... they never had it easy either. It is hard to give what you never received, I think.
bless you
so true
yeah, light at the end of the tunnel, and this time it wasn't another train ;) I have been without any form of therapy for more than a year now and am still going strong. So that is good.
well done Sprite - very happy for you
and what sprite went through, ditto for me. hence we know pretty much how the other is thinking.
wow!!
thank you flosey. How about you? Did you have a nice childhood?
whew !! made it back before he came back in.
good job, rose! And yeah, we share so many childhood (and adult) experiences. It makes for very easy understanding.
goodo Rose
we did have a happy childhood - perhaps sparse throughout the war years but had all the necessary comforts and love
most folk were in the same position
that is beautiful, flosey. Though the war years must have been hard. Comfort and love are a blessing though.
what more do kids really need!
true!
were you born in canada flosey?
rose, what did you get your love for his birthday?
yes
have always lived here
series nine of Foyle's War. plus what i bought at christmas which i went overboard on...*giggle*
lovely. He'll be a happy guy.
sounds like something he'll b e very happy to receive
like me in australia, flosey. bred, born and lived here all my life. still in the same town too.
ah, well, met hubby in Toronto, he had come to work/save money to finish college, married, lived in BC for 5 years, then back to Ontario for 30 where he taught, retired on the family farm which he always wanted
sounds like a good and steady life, flosey
and how much of canada have you actually seen?
from Ontario west - have just driven through though, never really spent time in other provinces
spent a bit of time with Aunt in Montreal but was never east of Quebec
which is a pity really, would love to have seen the East coast
we still have a lot of australia to see. i have visited all our states, but never northern territory, or the top end of queensland and western australia.
does Australia still have a rabbit problem?
can't you go for a holiday, flosey?
absolutely flosey. but the fence has held a lot of them at bay.
we took holidays elsewhere - London/Paris, Spain, Greece
ah, we are having a bit of problem here - fortunately we have a friend who likes to eat them so when hubby traps/shoots them, she is very happy
you don't like rabbit, flosey?
have never tried it - I'm a bit squeamish about trying it
it does need to be 'hung' properly. does your local butcher ever have them?
first Christmas our oldest son visited his wife's home at Christmas he was served rabbit - it was a bit difficult for him
for me rabbit tastes a bit like strong chicken.
have never seen them sold at a butcher shop
dar, dinner ready. bbl.
*darn*
enjoy, Rose
enjoy, rose
me 7/36 ?
hello gran. I don't have it yet.
just looking for that one myself, gran - let's see!
I have the lady with snakes as hair, but it does not seem to extend into a 7
gave up and used morewords!! I'd never have even monkeyed it!! no idea what it means, will check
a convex or crescent shaped body - or a disk of cartilege between the articulating ends of the bones in a joint!!!
no Sprite, comes right after that one
thanks flosey
ah, I know the singular of that one. It is what soccer players always have issues with.
ah, good for you
hubby loves soccer, so can't help learning the lingo, grin
hubby played soccer, didn't ever hear of anyone having a problem though
or, if I did, it just went over my head!!
my love never played soccer but he had to have one of his removed two years ago.
doesn't sound like fun, Sprite
Still searching for me 7/36 - any further clues?
I mean the surgery
wasn't major, though not pleasant
gran, start out with guys, then a form of to be, + first two letters of a large town
ah great clue Sprite - was having difficulty
thanks :)
lots of monkeying with this grid - silly little words
*hands our monkeys some bananas*
well deserved tonight
quite a few latin endings
cine a
ouch, hit the spacebar in stead of a letter. So sorry.
Would never have found me 7/36 without help - Thanks
and back. ;-P
wb rose :) and yvw gran
wow, fast supper Rose!!
*giggle* i'm known to inhale food.
lol, no time for chit chat
we had the most divine lunch today. eggs benedict on corn and zucchini fritters instead of toast. to die for.
sounds lovely
just found sp4/8 on the pt count alone!
sounds good Rose
wtg flosey!
i find eating processed grains as in bread seems to feed my hunger, and i end up eating all day.
Hubby loves zucchini bread - made several batches last summer, we're still eating it. I also put glaze cherries and such in it, we love it
that sounds delish flosey.
just happened to have stuff left over from making Christmas Cake so tried it!! quite a hit
flosey, would you mind sending me the recipe? Would love to try it.
that's better than it going 'off' in the cupboard until next christmas.
for sure!
yes, Sprite be glad to - what I'll do is print it in my bio, ok?
thank you :D Yes, perfect, I can copy/paste it then
brb, potty break
will do it tomorrow so you can pick it up later
back. Thank you flosey! Whenever is convenient for you.
wb, dearest.
how was your night, dear? oh and before you disappear again, how is the dizziness?
my night was fine :) And the dizziness is gone for the most part. I am feeling pretty good atm. I seem to be losing a lot of weight, lots of excess fluid disappearing.
wow !! sprite, good for you. i am so proud of you, and i am not going to stop saying it.
*giggles* I love to hear it! Am happy with myself too, am doing well and sticking to the diet, and it is creating so much peace inside.
oh, my, i won't recognise you.
when i did the diet many years ago, i found the rapid weight loss was such a booster to my determination.
holding on to fluid can be a sign of the body getting too much toxins. As it was explained to me, too much carbs can be so taxing on the digestive system that it is poisonous in a way. Yes, you are right, the rapid weight loss is stimulating.
stuck on vi6, any clues, please???
Same first three letters as the other Vs + most of a fish
v + most of frozen water + last part of not walk + vowel
g'day zooz
first three of subject of a crime + last 3 of a fish T*** sandwich
hiya zooz!
Hello ladies :-)
how are you today, zooz?
ah!! finally the light goes on, thanks zooz, rose, sprite
yvw flosey :)
I am well thanks, Sprite. How are you keeping?
quite well, zooz, thanks! Was thinking of you and your parents yesterday. It was King's Day here, a national holiday, and one of the traditions is a freemarket for all. Each neighbourhood has a place where people sit down on blankets and sell their stuff, for bargain prices. I think your parents would love it.
Yes that would of been nice to go round and see what they were offering! Did you find any bargains?
we only checked out our local bunch. I found a colander, same as the one we had that had lost its foot and handgrips.
for only 1 euro :D
Excellent! I love looking through boxes of things in the hope of finding something that is useful..lol
I like it too, but I cannot be on my feet for very long. So I was doubly happy I found something we really needed so quickly!
ok Sprite, recipe up in my bio - enjoy
thank you flosey!
yw Sprite - you'll have to scroll down a bit to find it
I often mix up 2 or 3 extra batches of the dry ingredients to have on hand - just keep them in individual ziploc baggies
saved it on my computer. Thanks again, flosey, looks delicious
Good morning, my friends:)
Hello, Crossy :-)
hello crossy *hugs*
Hi Crossy, and I'm just off to bed!! must get some sleep!
sleep well, flosey
goodnight all
Sweet sleep, flosey :-)
good night, Flosey:)
sweet dreams dear flosey
g'daycrossy
How are you keeping, Rose?
((rose, sprite)) zooz, et al
doing well since my infusion a week ago. and you dear man?
I ma well thanks for asking :-)
Must be wonderful to be pain free!
Am*
Crossy you are up early again!
zooz....it is absolutely fabulous....
((Rose))
lol... just after my first infusion i had a headache, and it took me an hour to realise what it was.
it is funny with pain. You somehow find a way to live with it. And only when it is less, or gone, you realise what else is hiding beneath the surface
do you remember sprite?
Sprite, We took our dad to a carboot sale on Sunday in his wheelchair. He was not a happy chappy.we said did you enjoy not having to struggle walking around? He replied 'no all I could see was peoples arses at my eye level' LOL..Bless him.
What was it, Rose?
Indeed, Zooz> I am generally awake between 5 and 6 am these days
when I was at the dietician's, we told her about my vit D deficiency and how extremely low it was, and she said: "Omg you must have had such horrible muscle cramps and pains!" And all I could say way, well, I am used to pain. Haven't really noticed it being different.
Way too early for me, Crossy..lol
awwww your dad is a darling, zooz! Yeah, that is really nasty, the view from there. Plus the fact that lots of people immediately think that they have to talk about him to you, in stead of straight at him.
fireflies
yaaa for sprite!!
Congrats, Sprite!
WTG SPRITE!!!!
rose: no, not really. As a child and young adult, I always had headaches. And later on, the issues I still struggle with. Pain is a constant, just varies in intensity.
thank you dear friends :D Chapeau for the monkeys, who got a real workout today.
I need to go and do some weeding. Have a great day or night everyone.toodle pips for now.
picturing monkey's in French berets
never mind, too many conversations going on
have a good day, zooz
enjoy your day zooz
I answered your question, rose, 5.20 am
sprite, love. i was asking you if you remembered the instance of my headache and me not recognising it for what it was.
oh, lol, ok. Yes I remember.
darlings, I am off for now. *hugs* to you all, and may you have a blessed day and a peaceful night.
okay sweetie. i hope you can relax today and be comfortable. xoxox

Oh, good I am glad you are not near there.
am6
there is peaceful demonstration and then there is rioting.
did you see the Mom run after her kid?
I did - she ruled! Wish all the moms went down there....
I was referring to the rioting. It is an insult to Dr. King and all others who promoted peaceful demonstration for civil rights.
I know you were referring to the rioting.
she did, didn't she. Trof?
Trif

me6's: places where you journey to visit/worship, people who treat you... like EMTs... myth lady with snake hair...
me7 is the plural of an anatomy word. I don't think it's related to other me words
Oh duh - I had the five of the docs, but had forgotten to plural it
That is not a myth lady. I know women like that. : D
thank you Molly
Thanks Joseph!

I'm thinking about the hair stylist that has to deal with that mess :D
Hair stylists have to deal with a lot of odd situations.
Could be a slytherin hairdresser!
My friend who does hair says that the elders who insist on a blue rinse and a football helmet perm are the ones who drive her nuts.
Stylist to me6: take a little off the fangs?
Me6 to stylist: Yeshissssss
Said Me6 to the stylist, "Oh yes",
I've decided to try o this new dress. It's covered with scales, Much like my nails, and the bodice is fancy with mesh...

Males + last two of Hawaiian garlands + first two of Italian goodbye
And now it is time for Crossy's tidbit of the day!!... There is a United church of bacon in Las Vegas:)) http://tinyurl.com/mjq68tw
Thank you Molly. Good clue.
It's a tough word. Most people know it as the singular.
true
If you tear it, it's a nasty knee injury.
One of my daughters had a ski accident and had to have surgery and weeks to recover.
Skiing freaks me out. So many ways to hurt yourself.
I tried cross country once and fell on the edge of my ski. Ouch! that was the end of skiing for me. Walking and word games are much safer!
I agree. I love walking. Running...no way. So many ways to deteriorate your muscle tissue.
Crossy's going on a pilgrimage!
stuck on the me 7/36
