hi aloy
hi dee..you've been gone a long time.. are you ok?
hi Dee (-:
We had an amazing 2 week vacation in the Outer Banks (Corolla, NC). I soooo did not want to come home!!
nbt
oh great
wonderful
that's great
found a bug, no mammals yet
I did hurt my knee on vacation :(... big bummer... hoping it is just a sprain, but we will see.
May have torn something. Weather was beyond amazing.
ouch, hope it heals quickly
hello everyone
hi nan
Me, too, aloy... couldn't walk first 24 hours.
hi nan
re-7 if not called.
ty for the re 7
finished planting all the pots on the lower deck this afternoo...not 3 hours had gone by before the 3 pesky deer that hung around all last summer showed up again. I swear they just wait for me to get the garden in shape.
how frustrating!
try Liquid Fence.. stinky, but it works
Nan, try planting a "garden" in another location in your yard specifically for the deer. Maybe that will satisfy and distract them.
our yard isn't that big, mimi
and it's all landscaped
Too bad. Maybe just put out some already cut produce?
they have open fields with lots of shrubs all around us, but they have developed a taste for begonias, impatiens and roses
wouldn't that just bring more deer mimi?
Hi everyone, enjoyed our tea out on the deck tonight - starting to chill a bit now, time to come in
should have asked for a pellet gun for my birthday!
When I lived in the country I fed everything...it was amazing. I actually had a racoon that practically knocked on the arcadia door if I wasn't on time with the pecans!
hi flosey!
May be right, there, ruru. But worth a try?
Hi Dee, haven't seen much of you lately, have you been away?
hi flosey and ruru and Mimi.. want to stay up but getting t
deer to doe:: oh I just had the most fabulous brunch at Nan's house
When I had a deer issue there was a lot more land to manipulate so I could put food out for them a long way from the house and deck.
oops.. too sleepy, obviously, lol.. g'nite, all
night Aloy
Nite ((Aloy))!

I'll be coming back from Vancouver some time Thursday, not sure yet
cooee and g'day from me
hi Rose
Hi rose. Are you better?
hi flosey
hi ruru. temps have gone down. sweats are much better. they still don't know what happened.
Wow
Are you back home?
yes, mate home again
docs think i have had a drug reaction.
To what?
the tegretol for the nerve pain.
Ok. Well i am glad you are home.
thanx ruru. i am so looking forward to sleeping in my own bed.
back again, can't beat sleeping in your own bed, Rose
too true, flosey.
darn, have been searching high and low, bought a card and signed it, etc, can't for the life of me find it now!
Hi all and hugs (lots of 'em) Rose. So happy to see you back babbling :)
in your purse ready to post?
{{hugs}} liz girl
no, not to be posted, just handed to!
So bet you're really happy to be back home.
That's so frustrating, Flosey!
of course I'll find it after the fact !! isn't it the way
poor flosey. it must be somewhere obvious. like on a mantlepiece, table near front door
It's probably with the trainer sock I've lost!
yes liz, happy to be home again.
ah Rose, with me, it's liable to be anywhere! this memory thing is very frustrating
in the toaster, behind the milk in the fridge?
In the oven?
now those sound quite likely
can you see yourself writing the card?
yes, bought it, signed it, but then I was out all day, hmmm, could be still in the car, don't think I've driven since - tks, wll check there tomorrow
that's a good possibility, flosey
Need to get my post-gym snack. Hope you find the card, Flosey. BBS. Hugs
thanks Liz, if I don't find it in time, can use it next year!!
32 to go and falling asleep, bb tomorrow morning - briefly, have to be on the noon ferry to Victoria
sweet dreams flosey
hi all, fireworks, and bye all
rt
*pounces* Roseeeeee!
Softly, sprite. She's still delicate!
lol. Hi Liz *hugs*
Hi and hugs to you too
Good to hear from rose today :)
indeed. Still too little clarity on the cause though.
That's what I said to her too.
where did our rose go? chasing squirrels again?
Having a sleep I'd suspect.
without signing off here? Could be, of course.
I'd imagine she's exhausted. Also wanting some home time with Don.
nooooo, i am here. {{hugs}} darling sprite.
I bet Don is over the moon now that she is home again.
Might just've fallen asleep.
He must've been soooooooo worried.
rose, my dear friend. *hugsssssss* So good to see you again. How are you feeling?
I know I was. still am, to be honest.
Me too.
a touch delicate. but wide awake, and enjoying being home. * sigh *
Home food :)
don keeps coming over and kissing me to make sure i am really here.
am glad, rose. Hospitals are bad places, especially when you feel ill, lol.
That's so lovely and what I'd expect.
sprite, i was pretty much out of it for the first 3-4n days.
aw good man, Don
I believe it, rose. You were really sick. And such high fevers too.
Don did a wonderful job with keeping us up to date too, Rose.
Almost dinner. So hugs to you both
enjoy your dinner, Liz. Hugs to you both.
bless him. so he did. he came in twice/day. in the morning he helped me to have a wash, and the last few days helped with having a shower.
{{hgs}} liz girl and to peter too.
he really stepped up to the mark, didn't he! Am so glad, rose. It is so important.
still sweating at times. the nrses said it because i was still so weak and moving around will do that to me.
ok, sounds reasonable. Is the fever down? Otherwise that would cause sweating too.
no high temps for three days.
good girl! God lovey, it is so great to see you here again. Was really worried about you. *hugs*
* grin *i am so sorry for worrying you so much.
don't be sorry, silly, it is not your fault. Only apologise for things you could have done differently :)
how didn the kayaking trip go?
canoeing trip. It was awesome. Rob and I had a great time together, away from the kiddoes. And the rest of the company was nice too, and they were so glad that I was there, it made me blush. Good feeling.
i did briefly flirt with the idea of not letting you know....i did say briefly.
that better be very very briefly.
how lovely sprite. how nice that you were welcomed so nicely.
yeah it was nice. I always think people hardly notice if I am there or not. Quite a discovery to realise I have been missed all those years.
you must always let us know, darling. We may worry, but better to worry informed than uninformed. Plus, you need our prayers and good thoughts.
how are you doing with the diet?
still going strong. Another kg lost in that vacation, and another half just now. It is going slow, but at least it is going.
whoot!!! well done you, dear.
yeah I am proud of me. And of Rob too. He is willing to cook carb-free as long as I help him find recipes. We ate lovely dinners the whole week, he enjoyed them too, and with most he didn't even add carbs for himself.
yay for Rob!! what a man!!
rob is a good 'un. As is your beloved. We picked great husbands, darling.
yeah!! i'll drink to that.... lolll
phantom: requiem. Darn little pesky bugger.
easy on the alcohol with that liver, lady, lol.
yes mum.
oh, oh, oh... tomorrow my hair goes off, rose. Am gonna donate it to charity. Since it will most likely fall out during the first year after surgery, I thought I'd better donate while there is still something to donate.
*hugs rose* Good girl! ;)
roflollll.... will need pics please.
yeah, will ask caya to take some pictures of me now, with my hair down.
how is the pain, rose? Since your medication has changed?
not too bad. i still have brufen and endone if i need it.
dinner ready, sweetie. bbl if you are still here. xoxoxox
ok, that should be doable. Is there any rumour of the infusions having anything to do with this?
ok darling, enjoy your dinner
fireflies
and back. WTG SPRITE!!!!
wb darling. How was dinner?
yum, but tummy still can't handle volume. home-made hamburger
sounds delish. And even a little bite should be better than hospital food, grin
absolutely.
honey, i think i need to go and lie down. xox
good plan, darling. *hugs* and have a good rest. Am so glad you are back home :) Tell Don thanks, and *hugs*.
will do sweetie. hope you have a good day. xoxox
yaaaaawn....mornin' all

Clue please for ci 6/30?
Du Soleil
tyvm Molly :)
: )
di 5/14 please?
Make the coin a one who does
Thought I had tried that...ty again
good morning all.
Good morning
TE 5/12 please?
Good morning, everyone:)... brrr... Had frost last night and there was a wind chill of minus 1:( Planting is only 4 days away so i hope mother nature gets this out of her system:)
2 here right now :)
But they say 22 for May 24.
Good stuff. Any longer and we may as well slide from spring right into autumn
Still waiting for the thunderstorms they have been predicting for over a week.
We will have a frost Friday night. Brrr. Good thing that I won't plant tomatoes til the weekend.
Not with the air temps this cool. We need the air warm and muggy to bounce of the ice-cold water--then we will get some good boomers
It has come close a few times then just fizzled out.
Q's quashed:)
wtg, I still need 3
I just finished them too.
what makes it a bit tough is one of the base q words runs in both directions in the grid. Was o.k after that
almost missed that British lineup :)
So, now I need 1
qu8 = the state of no noise
Got it, ty :)
I swear, 2 days ago I was sweating in my flannel pj bottoms, now I have goosebumps :)
Same here.
Hello everyone :)
Morning.
Hi cat
55 left and I must get ready for work. Enjoy the day.
Take care.
Have a good day
What! The news just said there was actually snow flurries in this area.
I haven't seen snow in years :( and the last time it was only a light dusting.
We had flurries in meaford just up the road, but we were spared
Oh well, the last gasp.
Hope so. it has "gasped" on quite long enough.
You Know what this mean of course? i means it will most likely be 45C for all of July and August and we will roast
Then we will get down on our hands and knees and kiss the ground when it cools off again;)
Yes I guess :) Just got a flyer from the building management asking if I have an air conditioner. They charge about $100 for the season. Unfortunately, I don't have one.
The hot hot weather makes my muscles feel so good that I put up with the heat. It relaxes me so much and there is no pain.
They want $125.00 in our building for this year. I do not think I am going to bother
Of course, if it is too humid and wet it hurts.
Paid it last year when it was 100 dollars, and I think i turned the a/c on a grand total of three times;(
You need to relocate to one of those "dry heat" areas down south, sukee:)
And we can only have air conditioners in a specific place in the living room, where there is a cut out. Which avoids them falling and dripping, easier to catch the water.
My brother is turning into a raisin in vegas. Sun down there makes you skin look like a fine tooled leather saddle;)
I just wish we had dry heat in Canada. I don't think I could live in Arizona :)
I did see a story on Sun City, Arizona. A community where you have to be 55 or over, but everyone they talked to seemed to be exactly the same, I would never fit in :)
Okay, 46 left. Should go make breakfast.
My brother says that in the height of summer, when it is 100F-115F the humidity often sits at something silly like 45-- heck, you can make beef jerky just by laying a roast outside on the picnic table:)
4%*
Sukee, we do not have "cut outs" for the a/c's we either put window- mounted units in, and take the responsibility for any water drainage damage, or do what i did and by a free-standing a/c unit that can be moved at will from room to room. it has a dryer hose attachment that fits to a template that in turn mounts into the window you wish to use. That way I do not have to worry about any water damage or mounting damage
and buy*
Thing is about the size of a bar fridge
crossy, did you brother ever have a swamp cooler. They are perfect for low humidty climates
Is anyone else finding this an easy grid? Almost half way.
yes, It's a friendly grid
Hi Annie
hi bichon, I am finally in the positive numbers in QP
Yeah. One step at a time. I've had a bad couple of days.
I see your name in the top 10
Not for the last couple of days
I didnt play for a few days, I was in CT.
We should have gotten together. Your daughter's in western CT
SW, I believe. That would have been nice. The name of the town Is Wilton.
Yes, know where it is. On the shoreline
Darned Enable. Won't take meme
I tried that too. Enable is living in the past.
It's taken me a while to finally understand what a meme is
lol. me too
I guess we don't get out too often
As far as I am concerned, that is true.
Im going to start breakfast. Be back soon.
What I find interesting about meme is that it is pronounced MEEM but spelled like mémé, French for grandmother. Which I believe is pronounced may-may.
but it isn't etymologically connected to french for grandmother
enable doesn't accept meme, does it?
Guess not
it would memes.
Anybody have either of the 8 letter words?
ma8 product of the Y chromosome + abbrev for state where Detroit is + abbrev state where Salt Lake City is.
Wow thanks I never heard of that before
Is it another spelling for that dog breed ?

dictionary dot com doesn't have a definition for it.
Thanks lbdawger
yw. glad to be of assistance.
maybe just a weird spelling variation of malamute?
that's what I was trying to ask, yeah
who knows with enable. it could be some obscure word meaning spring. lol
