A friend told me to mix water and ginger powder and rub it on sore joints. It seems to work for a little while. I put it on my knees and hips and the thumb that is always sore.
That is why we have embraced hiking the way we have. We are both at the "Use them, or lose them" stage, especially me with my bursitis and the extra pounds that I am carrying.
I'm trying a challenge to walk more, I have a pedometer I'm wearing for 3 weeks. Walking is definitely a good way.

oh yes, it works. I notice as soon as I forget taking them. In a few days, the pain is much worse.
Glucosamine is a long, slow process, but It does help, somewhat, however, at the end of the day, knee deterioration is what it is.
I should ask my doctor about it, as long as it doesn't come in horse sized pills I could take it.

It's funny, had all these issues my whole life but never diagnosed until I was in my 50s. Made me fail grade 9 gym and the year because I couldn't do what the others could, gym teachers assumed laziness. Thank goodness you can't fail because of gym anymore. Same as I got criticized for poor handwriting as a child and not being able to tie my shoe laces as quickly as others. It all adds up. Anyway, enough of my story :)

In exchange, they had to weed.

Was no panic though. If you saw a weed, just pull it and throw it on the pile at the end of the garden on your way out
so the kids took some ownership of the maintenance as well. good lesson.

I once tried making a bacon-bacon burger; I ground up a pound of raw hickory-maple bacon, then added bits of onion, some fine-ground cheddar cracker crumbs, bit of egg and cooked up the patties. the I added strips of crispy bacon on top with a bacon ranch sauce. was nice, but not something I would do often:)
There are a couple of brands that work for me. It's better than no bacon at all. I was baconless for several years, and I'm glad I found an acceptable substitute, whew!

Sinus infection with PND?
did not mention that. who know?allergy season. will try benadryl tonight and see if it clears
dear Temple.....I took Benedryl once because I thought I had an allergic reaction(sniffles & sneezing ) to something. However I had the beginning of a Sinus infection. The Benadryl did dry up the sniffles & sneezing,,,,but it also pushed everything back into the sinus cavity and head.I though I had a 500 lb head. It made my Sinus infection worse and it made me very dizzy. Try doing this at your own risk.
our doctors no longer give antibiotics for sinus infections. you have to ride it out. no exceptions.
Antihistamines have a drying effect. Nasal saline spray helps with irrigating mucous. And a nasal steroid spray is much more effective than antihistamines.
Most sinus infections are viral = common cold. If there is a runny nose and cough for more than 2 weeks then antibiotics can be considered.
the policy is, since the course is not altered by prescribing, they do no longer prescribe for sinus even if secondary infection sets in.
three weeks healing is the same.
I am happy to know that docs avoid inappropriate use of antibiotics. The world, mostly US docs, are behaving this way.
Back in Europe, I kept company with a lot of doctors, and found out the following fact: During WWII, all allergies stopped. Just stopped. Mind was busy with other things: bombs, bullets, etc. If you are wondering about surviving, you won't wonder about hayfever. (Yes, that one, too...) So, direct your mind away from allergies. Don't dwell on them.

Most soap is not directly anti-bacterial, and those that are have their own related issues.

It will be interesting to see if it sticks. I thought my parents should have called my little sister Jim but they didn't go for it. My brother called his boy Jim and he was always the only one his age.
I can see how Abe wouldn't go over well. Maybe that is why they are considering LJ

There are far too many young James', but Jim has class too. Still, Lincoln is a very classy name

we are watching an old Dr Who... it has been a strange weekend, not what I planned at all, but not bad. Now a week of intense work and push-push-push and then a week of filling out memory books and sharing a few final thoughts and they are off to the next grade. Not me though, I didn't get promoted, so I have to repeat the whole thing again next year.

I took pictures on my iPad and tried to send them directly. Now I have tried to send them to my computer and we will see if that works better.
Oh, and I bought a (very basic beginner) drum set yesterday so I have a pedal bass drum for the concert on Wednesday... keep me in your thoughts that I don't "solo" where I am not supposed to!
