*hugs rose* Good evening dear friend. Sorry I didn't email you yet, it's been a little busy here, will try today :)
sprite, dear, ta4 your time. have been to see occ. rehab. bloke today. lollll he had a few ads for jobs he wanted me to see.
no kidding?!?!? He is totally out of his chicken brain mind. What were they?
*shrug* i'll keep him happy. ring up, and try and find out just how active the job is.
nursing jobs?
well, one was roster/quality co-ordinator. and the other medical typist for a radiology place.
oh yeah, right. Make Rose sit down for hours typing. Such a GREAT idea.
* giggling * i am going to ask if i could posibly job share. and so stick to my 3 hours/day. what are my chances do you think, seeing the positions are full-time??
the other one... well maybe. If it didn't involve too much sitting, too much standing, too much walking.
slim. Make sure to tell them you need to be within 10 paces of a toilet too.
lollll, or a commode nearby which someone else can empty??
right, that would work as well. And a curtain around it for privacy, of course.
wonders about the smell.... roflolll
can't be helped, lol.
speaking of smells.... don brought in a bunch of our own jonquils. their scent is heavenly.
awwwww
my interview went great yesterday. Very nice people, good and solid organisation, volunteers stay active for very long, some even for more than 25 years. Personel too. That is always a good sign.
wow~!! sounds hopeful.
I spoke with the office manager and the trainer. It was a good and fun talk, we all enjoyed it. And lol, at some point the trainer was leafing through my application form and she held it up, and I could read a note on the back side which said: "Sounds NICE!". Probably written during our telephone convo. Made me feel very good.
see??? i was right there with you!!
absolutely, every step of the way :)
the office manager said jokingly to the trainer: "She doesn't need training. She can start right away. Tomorrow!"
whoot !!
at the end they said they always postpone the decision until the day after, so I will get a phonecall today to hear if they want me to start the training. During the training, both parties still can decide it isn't a good fit. Once it is final, I have to stay on for at least a year because of the intensive training... very reasonable, I think
so how many hours/day do you have to put in?
one shift of 4 hours a week, and once a month a nightshift, also 4 hours. If I would be willing to do a second night shift a month, they would be even happier with me. I told them no problem. It will relieve someone of the oldtimers who are becoming too old for a night shift.
brb. iced tea catching up with me. well that's doable isn't it?
very doable. I think it will be a perfect fit both ways. Am very very enthusiastic. Hate to have to wait until October to start training!
and ughhh for the iced tea. Take your time, grin.
Three to go : ch 6/27; ch 7/40 and ch 7/40 clues please
ch6/27, make an option, this or that. both sevens are extensions of that
good clues, thanks rowse
huh.... rose. Sorry.
with the racket i make, rowse is good... loll
*giggles*
gosh !! LOLOLOLLLL. i tried to stifle a sneeze and it came out at the corners of my mouth and sounded like a rude noise.
the info meeting in the hospital was good too. Very informative, and very positive. Best thing is, she told us they almost never turn somebody down. Only if it is too dangerous. But otherwise, the decision is either YES, or YES BUT FIRST.... Makes it a whole bit less stressful for me.
roflollllllll
oh good news sprite
she also said, everybody HAS to lose 6 kg before the operation. And some a little more, like me, due to safety reasons. It is because it will make some room inside, room they need to be able to operate their tools.
oh speaking of rude noises, lolll... she told us that contrary to general belief it is quite ok to drink carbonated drinks after the operation. But that our partners wouldn't like it very much. Seems you cannot burp anymore afterwards... and the gas has to get out somewhere...
sprite, when the flip happened the chat log wouldn't load and we had red boxes. but i was able to type in words and they went on my word list.
yes?
and i hit the wrong key and the window closed. i logged back in, and you guessed, my whole list had disappeared. * sigh *
* snucker, rucker, grumble, mumble *
just checked the chog, it appears others were able to chat, just not me... waaaahhhh... and i am not paranoid. the whole world is out to get me.
lol. Sometimes you need to reload the page, several times. That's computers for ya... never a dull moment.
Rose, I have more like a rodent and the two you clued. Can you tell me the first 2 letters of the last 7?
I forgot the please. Please? With a ribbon and a banana on top?
plural word without the s tile. ti7/36
thank you
found them
gotta love the sound words!
*giggle* and i found them all on my ownsome too.
me too :) But that isn't a big feat, since I am probably the only one who actually uses them in chat
except on pirate day...
true, dat
timer just went off. dinner time. xoxox dearest.

fireflies. Bye all!

Sounds like the orange vegetable, Marc.
Or it is what they use for diamonds and alike.
Especially gold.
Okay try KA + rodent.
thanks got it
Most welcome.
Good morning, everybody:)
Hello, Crossy :-)
Allo. Anybody home?
Mornin' all. This is a stinker grid. Are there really five words from the bottom c?
Hey rubes!
((ruby)), Howdy, Bichon
{{big hug for zzoozz, crossy and bichon{{
Hello, Bichon :-)
How are you doing ruby?
((Ruby))
ti7, please?
Believe it or not, I am just bqack from the hospital, where they took Burt this morning.
Brest + squeak squeak rodent.
((ruby)) what happened?
I am actually relieved as I don'tg think it's anything particularly serious for him, just part of his general decline.

Hello, Annie :-)
It makes it easier to go for my important appt. this afternoon
Hi zooz, bichon, marc
So he will be staying there for a while I take it, Rubu?
Ruby*
loody typos.
He is very dsoriented and won';t let me out of his sight. Has fallen twice in the past 3 days
ruby, you dont need this at this time. is your son still with you?
Ruby loves loody typos
thanks got it
Oh dear so sorry to hear that, Ruby.Hospital is a good place for him and you at this moment in time then.
Hes still here and is driving me insane as he is a control freak. Hoiwever, I needed help with tax issues and he's going to the oncologist with me this afternoon.
Welcome, Marc.
hello Marc
ruby, that is a big help.
Crossy, how do you keep your w3onderful, positive attitude?
He wrote some nice stuff on the Babble FB page
hello ruby and all
Well it is he is helping even if he is a pain in the butt.
Good he is helping*
how does one get onto the Babble FB site? I would like to read that, ruby.
OK last one sc6, please?
Sounds like a big twig you throw for a dog to fetch, Marc.
I thought I wrote "hi Marrc" but since my son changed my keyboard and various settings, I don't know what the hell I've typing most of the time
I have no idea, Annie.I have never used facebook myself.
It is a tough go at time, ruby, However, i take all my problems and make a mental compartment for each, and I line up those compartment in order of seriousness. Once I have done that I only open those that must be dealt with that day. I Do not guess possible outcomes of issues that may or may not happen in the future. there are a million possabilities in life, and millions upon millions of second between now and then. I cannot change or alter what the future may bring, nor can i change the past as it is written in stone. I take care of what must be taken care of--today, and today only, otherwise, I would despair.
zooz, neither have I.
You did Ruby and I responded with hello ruby and all
Do you think I'm losing my marbles?
can I get another clue for sc6 as I did not get zooz's clue, please?
Not at all, Ruby.I think you are coping the best you can.And you sound fine to me.
jJust go to Facebook and type in Babble community
My dad alwasy said "do not fear about losing your marbles because when it actually happens--you will not know it"
Just very worried which is understandable.
so you are rine, Ruby tuesday:)
fine
thanks, bichon
... marbles were in a purple Crown Royal bag which mother threw out decades ago ... who needs marbles anyways?
First three letters of where children learn + when teachers mark your homework if wrong you get a X if right you get a **c*. for correct.
I use to love those crown royal bags!
... once had a real velvet one but it wore out and they stopped making them
zooz was that a clue for me, if so I am very thick this morning and didn
didn't get it
ahh a slapstick comedy wword!
It was for you, Marc. Not to worry we all get days like that. But to be honest it is my cluing that is not up to scratch. For which I apologize for.
Was hoping someone else might be able to chip in with a clue of their own to help you..lol
sc5/16 is a Yiddish word for "jerk"
Im also looking for sc6
or first three letters of where students learn+ a misspelling of those little guys who carry rocky mountain spotted fever.
Got that one not really a jerk but kind of a jerk just before jerk
found it, Mark, sc6-----as zooz said, first 3 letters of buidling where children go to learn (I hope) and first 3 letters of ti 4/8
More of a west coast woods thing for us. I have never had an issues with them
phantom: schmotta \(or however it's spelled)
Also a Yiddish word thanks got it
These grids would be a breeze if we all knew yiddish:)
I still think it sounds like a big twig you throw for dogs to fetch :-)
it's not too late
It does, zooz
ty for the sc word crossy
was a team effort:))
can I get a clue for the secondd ch6/27 ?
An option, Annie.
thank you! zooz
Most welcome :-)
My life has become a teasm effort, much more tan I want! I LOVE communication, payers an good wishes from my friends, but my som is makimg enormous lists of questiond to ask thencologist, most of the answers to which were covered the first time around
I just asked him to leave me alone in tis quiet place for a few minutes and he refused!
ruby, Maybe asking the questions again will help him also.
Good morning all.
hi sukee
hi sukee
Hi Annie.
anybody want an old son, slightly used?
sukee, sorry to read about your cat.
Thanks Annie.
Ruby, I'm just going to remind you that my good thoughts and prayers are with you. Last time I made a comment about your son here, I got taken to task by other players.
what happened to your cat, sukee|? I've BEEN RATHER PREOCCUPIED AND MOSTLY ABSENT.
... one is reminded of the classic Bill Cosby line about annohying sons ...
I had him put down yesterday
He had been sick for almost a year and it was time.
yOU ARE KIDDING! I CONTINUALLY WEIGHT HIS GOOD POINT AGAINST HIS BAD ONES AND JUST HAVE TO NOT FIGHT HIM WHEN HE'S ALWAYS RIGHT
Which one? I brought you into this world, I can take you out?
{{sukee}} that is so sad
... and replace you any time I want
It was hard but I feel relieved for him, he was in a lot of pain at times and he was getting a bit confused.
It's funny how such a stupid mother could have such a smart son NOT
Glad I don't have to deal with any children :)
... please ... mine's only twenty-two .. and a girl ... it's amazing how little of my life I've understood
Cats (and, of course, dogs) are nicer and never judgmental.
Isn't it amazing how we know everything when we are in our 20s?
You are doing just great, Ruby.Keep it up. The sun will be shining again for you in time :-)
... I keep repeating the title of Earl Weaver's autobiography ... "It's what you learn after you know it all that counts" ...
*Joins Zoom in the "Ruby cheering section"
<---Loved Earl Weaver
... Sorry ... I'm a Jays fan ... I can only respect him
Baltimore has had a lot of greats...Earl...Cal...Eddie Murray...
the sun will be shining tomorrow, you can bet your bottom dollar......

It's going to rain here all day today :) But tomorrow sun is in the forecast.

Sadly, I'm a die-harrd Mets fan, but at least I was in NY for the iracle Mets
The Amazins
It's easy being in Canada, we have one team. But, I also like the Red and the Yankees, when they are not getting in the way of the Jays.
Reds
Red Sox I mean, doh.

I was happy to be in Toronto when we won back to back World Series' in the 90s :)

I'm a die hard Mets fan. Got it from my Dad. He never got over the Dodgers leaving an he hated the Yankees
The Ex-pos are now our Washington Nationals
They are expecting a real canicule here starting today. It was already close to 100F at noon
Bichon, exactly the same as with my father and me. I used to love listening to call games on the radio

They'll be dropping like flies in Paris but my house stays pleasantly cool and the dog take care of themselves. Rufe stays in the garage and Raf has dug a hole in the dirt
Back in my grade school days, I remember kids bringing transistor radios with ear pieces to school when the World Series was on.
I am trying to stay calm; my oncologist apt is at 3
just zipping by but wanted to say I hope all goes well with your 3:00 appointment, Ruby -- love and hugs :-)
merci, une
bye everybody
That Une, always zipping or whizzing
Canicule, interesting word
I have a tendency to remember a word someone uses in context rather than the random oddball words found here

Hi All

And special hi to Hurshy. Good to see you!

that double a word we were discussing also comes in a double R variety for 6
Hi Hego.
Hiya Scrabs. :)
TY, Hurshy, I do not get the ci6 and sc6 clues though. Anyone have the D?
do 5/16
ci 6 is a Roman statesman.
... ci6 ... roman lawyer who got onto the wrong side of Augustus Caesar ... or a town in Illinois
Going to Google. I just don't know it.
Found it now.
TY, Doseffing for do5.
Did you know him?
He's very interesting.
Pratically invented the jury trial as we know it today.
... but a bit arrogant ... and he picked the wrong side once too often
true, Dose.
...but then I guess it went with a still goes with the profession of being a lawyer
:)
My father worked in that town in Illinois for many years.
Hi Gail!

I am not disappointed with having no-shows today. I have a migraine and would rather chat with Babble buddies.

Sends good vibes out to Scrabs' head.
We have had many no-shows today due to the good weather I think.
I think the rain storm has triggered this.
This is our first dry day in 4 days:)
We will have a nice day on Friday finally.

Hi Judi and Trif

I am researching new treatments for tinnitus which has afflicted me since my concussion 16 months ago.

Could I have a clue for sc6 please? I have looked at the previous clues but they don't help as I don't know any Yiddish. I have the sc5 before it.
Same beginning as the one before, ends with facial twitch, spelling differently
Sorry, I don't have it. Do you have the ch 7's?
Thanks Molly
ch7 words are one who opts and the plural of opt
ch7s are very twisty words starting from the botom c.
Thankyou Molly. Iv'e finished now.
Thanks again Molly
Please - a clue for the ka 5.

Sorry
ty dianne

any clues for that i word fifth column please?
itare
Mkg...ik4/8 and oh5/16
The first two sc words are both Yiddish. The 5 means a jerk, idiot...the 6 means a comedy or vaudeville routine.
Thanks
O am looking for the first sc 5/12
ty got the ik.
molly ty. got the six. they missed schtark, which means severe or strict, in yiddish and is in the grid too. silly dictionary. also schtarke. oh well. they arent yiddish speakers.
jeewhiz, ty, i got the ik but still working on oh.
got the oh. ty.
oh + first part of Minny Mouse's partner
ty got it.
still didnt get the sc word for jerk. there are so many of those. molly is that the real meaning or the one people think it means?
start of a place where you learn +**nday is the start of the work week
got the sc 5 now. silly dictionary. ty for clue
off for the day. ty all.
Well, if you look at the definition of sh5 here, it says fooish, boring person, a jerk
I wouldn't say that is a silly definition since that is what I have been told it means.
So many sc5s, so little time
A testy little grid!
and feisty too
I thought a schmuck was a jerk and a sh5 was a slow person?
what's fooish?
Like Foo Fighters?
:D
Like Jewish only different
that's PHOOEY hego :D
Oh, right
Schmuck is a dick. Sc5 is a foolish person, someone dim witted, or a jerk.
Fooish is me being unable to spell properly.
A tyop?
I thought schmecky was a penis.
So many words for penis nowadays i guess
All I know is that after the movie "Magic" my friend and I started using the word Schmucko, until someone Jewish told us it was vulgar. Then we started using it a lot.
That is showing restraint molly.
Well, you know how it is. There is always some prude who wants to spoil all the fun.
*looking around the empty room...*
lol, def very quiet here today!
hi...

*Signs up the entire Babble Chat congregation for pain relief therapy*
we sure have a higher than normal pain experience here, that's for sure!
I don't think it's higher than normal. I think this place has made it's mark as somewhere that people can vent about their medical issues.
Did someone offer pain relief therapy?!?!?
sure what'll you have, car? *opens bar*
More epidural corticosteroid please...straight up
Hmm, let's see. More spontaneous sex, more Captain Morgan and less constant care for everyone but you. That should work.
LOL
i think the population of this site skews up....and with age comes more health issues....
Those who over invest in care-taking for others often manifest physical symptoms of their own because it's the only way they can get attention.

Good evening, everybody:)

Mammary rodents ..
Pole-rodents
Just not getting it. I have the round rubber thing on cars and imagine the word comes alphabetically after that but neither my mind nor my dictionary can help. Is there a site on line where I could search?
Finall, finally got it! Many thanks.
naches girl - enable (haha) dictionary is used for the words....correct me i'm giving bad advise, been studying Israeli law, then there is babblers anonoymous, www.morewords.com, www.a2zwordfinder.com, lickety's babble clues, and of course if you join, you are able to see the stats. i've input all this as my sleeping pills are kicking in....some speech huh.
one day, if you become a babble addict - you just let the monkey find the words....savvy?
I could quit babble at any given time.
monkey or no monkey :D
spot on ru - i did for almost 7 years - checking in to see if the monkey was still alive
I do enjoy the game though and most of the people here
