hi ruru … waiting to hear :)
we have 3 offers for our house for sale
Wow, ru, congrats!!
That's great news, Ru
that's great
I hope they're good offers
I'll know by tomorrow afternoon
If you have 3, you might luck into a bidding war :)
oh.. in my dreams
Good luck :)
Getting 3 simultaneously is pretty amazing.
there isn't much inventory in our town.. and a lot of people want vacation homes there
plus it's a pretty house
Sounds like a great situation.
I'm holding my breath
it's been a long haul to get to this point
Sure has been. Sounds like everything is all falling together.
I hope you get a quick sale for more than you hoped, ruru. It will help make things feel final.
it will be nice to own my own home again.. just me
thank you bugs
then I'll really have to bring great wine on my next trip up to BC :D
Definitely well help give closure. I never was fond of renting, either, so understand that feeling.
I know how great it feels to have your own place and a new start. Wishing you lots of good things and new memories

Can I have photos, too, ruru? My em is in my profile.
Hi, everyone! ((Liz)) so good to see you!
just sent bugs
hi mimi.. how are you feeling?
Hi Mimi - so good to see you. Hope you're feeling a bit better.
ok, I will keep checking.
hi mimi
Thanks
Still can't really use my legs well and no one knows why. Being treated for fibromyalgia but so far not working. Adapting to having to do things differently.
de 7/32
how scary mimi
do you have good doctors?
I have fibro... did they try high doses of short term prednisone, mimi?
Very much so, ruru. I basically cannot leave my apt. because I'm on the second floor and cannot navigate the stairs. Good thing I'm good at being alone!
I sure hope they diagnose the problem
That
That's tough, Mimi - weird that they don't know what the problem is. Like Ru said, I hope they diagnose soon.
No, they didn't try that, Dee. I have to get my stupid insurance stabilized before I can go to a PCP and then to a neurologist. I has just in the hospital and they did 2 MRIs, 2 CAT scans, and 2 ultrasounds plus lots of blood work. I now know what I DON'T have but not what I do. At least I don't have MS.
well.. that's good news that we can take.. ms is really rough
Definitely good news.
Just repeating what ru and Dee have said - that's good news
In a way I'm glad I've been through so much in my life because more adversity doesn't throw me the way it would someone else. Maybe a distorted way of looking at things?
It took months for my RA and fibro dx... it is usually diagnosed by symptoms, medical history, and eliminating all of the zebras first. Hopefully, they will get it narrowed down soon, so you can get some treatments.
Everyone here is so supportive and I appreciate that.
Have you got people nearby, who can do shopping etc for you?
Great that you are being patient!!
That's good then - my chat's entering really slowly today.
Mimi, I am so sorry to hear what you are dealing with. It is more frustrating to not know what it is than it is to deal with it. I hope you find relief soon.
Yes, Liz. My grocery store delivers and I have my daughter, son and a neighbor who run errands for me. However, I found out Friday I may be losing my job...really bad news if that happens.
Oh! That'd be awful - well I'll keep hoping for you that it works out and your job's safe.
Right now I'm taking Neurontin (Gabapentin) which helps a lot of people but doesn't seem to be helping me and it can be a dangerous drug to take.
Oh, so sorry to hear you have that job stress thrown in. Will pray that does not happen.
RUru, your house is stunning! I am not surprised that it is getting lots of action. Did you decorate it yoursellves or was it professionally designed. Everything is so artistic with clean lines and mellow colours
All prayers welcome.
some of it is staged.. some of the furniture and art is ours
The good news is I may be coming into some major inheritance money.
Pics to my em, ruru?
that's the best news mimi
I will
When that comes through I'll be looking for a house to buy and not sure what area I'll go to. Not sure if I need to be close to my kids or not....long painful story. I just want a great house with views and land.
I thought it was clear you had no kids with the white furniture.
i designed a lot of the house bugs..
we had no kids
I held aspirin in-between my knees
tr7
I loved all the sliding doors to the outside so the rooms all became bigger by using the outdoors.
I like decorating with white because you can often use bleach to clean. I have a white rug that's very easy to spot clean.
LOL, ruru.
It is clear there were no kids, ruru. Nobody in their right mind would ever consider white furniture if they ever had kids.
the entrance is so inviting too. All the planters just draw you in.
We are on septic, Mimi. No bleach here. I am planning to redo the kitchen with dark cupboards this time because my husband is a mechanic and everything he touches leaves a smidge.
Well, I'm fading a bit so must go rest...hate that. Good being with all of you and have a good Sunday. Appreciate the empathy. Hugs.
just sent it to you mimi
hugs right back at you, Mimi. Be well
Hugs Mimi and sleep well and feel better

Bugs, in my former house I paid a lot of money to have special white carpet trucked in from Oklahoma. It was a petroleum based carpet and NOTHING stained it...not Hawaiian Punch, nothing. Even with three kids and their friends that carpet still was in fine shape after 17 years!
Have a restful sleep, mimi!
de 7 x 2
Nite all … (((Mimi))) hope it gets better for you
Absolutely beautiful, ruru. Are you sad to leave it? I hated selling my big beautiful house but it just wasn't practical anymore and I needed the money.

mi7 wrong day
(when writing a check, maybe)
Good morning, everybody:) It is one of life's little ironies; I spend the first 30 years of my working life dreading and loathing the alarm clock-- it braying shriek jolting me out of bed every week-day morning of my life, but now that I no longer need one, there is a new task master known as "bladder o'clock" that monitors and guides my sleeping schedule:(
oohhh we share a clock LO
LOL
:)
Yes, and there is no "snooze" button. you ignore it at your peril:)
:-)
morning boppers :)
Howdy, ((Sprite))
just coming up to 6 am. it is looking like a beautiful day on tap for today. lol! my son, the night hawk just went to bed half an hour ago:(
*hugs crossy* How are you and the mrs this morning?
We are both fine, sprite, and how are you this fine summer day?
lol your son needs to grow up and start working
I Made a deal with him .As long as he is continuing his education, a part-time job is enough.
ok that sounds reasonable.
Sadly, they rushed him through high school, with nothing but a 15 credit "certificate" instead of the 30 credit diploma. he lacked some skills I thought were mandatory, so when I went back, i told him that he should go back as well.
very very good of you. You are a helluva dad
If I leave him with no other legacy or gift, i swear I will make sure he has a good foundation of education.
:)
that is the best gift he can get. Next to your love, but he already has that.
it is kind of interesting having the whole family in school--well just the wife and son now. My beloved needs but two more credits and she is done.
woooot goooo Elegance!
I will most likely got back as a T.A for the duration of my wife's 2 classes. My vulnerable sector cert is good till next march, so i may as well use it.
ok dear crossy, that went straight over my head. What is a T.A. and what is a vulnerable sector cert?
Teachers assistant. A vulnerable sector check is a security clearance done by the police for people who seek work in areas like schools, hospitals, retirement homes, or other jobs where a higher standard of employee is needed.
Teachers assistant. A vulnerable sector check is a security clearance done by the police for people who seek work in areas like schools, hospitals, retirement homes, or other jobs where a higher standard of employee is needed.
oops I stuttered at the flip
ah! Thanks for the explanation. Sounds like a great plan, crossy. They will enjoy having you there.
Good thing they have no idea of my delinquent past;)
a bit of a delinquent past is needed to understand youth and get along with them :)
I told the kids that the way their parents and I used to party that they are all lucky that they were not born with an extra eye in the centre of their foreheads;)
roflol indeed!
you have read Firestarter by King, right?
Yup:)
aren't we lucky we didn't go that far, grin
Indeed:)
I will need a new book soon. I wonder if King has pumped out anything new after Mr. mercedes?
oh I found a series that is really worth reading. Good language, smart plots, interesting characters. Sara Douglass, the DarkGlas Mountain series. Wanna have it?
Sure, sprite:)
Just fire it off as epub into my email:)
Sadly, I have nothing new and interesting for you. last month or so I have been revisiting old favorites.
If you have yet to read Mr. mercedes, i do that that in epub if you wish it.
do you have Dropbox?
oh, ok, I will email, np
no, I do not.
you can also send it via we transfer if you wish
I use that one for large files.
oh yes, I use that too sometimes. Email is on its way. If you want the jpg and opf files, I can do We Transfer instead though, let me know.
it is ok. I can use Calibre to alter it as I wish:)
Calbire is my go-to for file alteration.
yeah but it sucks if you have to search for an image and all if I already did it for you, lol
Calibre*
I have exported from Calibre for you. Always use it.
let me go take a peek, brb
Got them all on my desktop now, Thank-you, Sprite;)
yvw crossy :)
my ebook reader is bulging at the seams with alomst 700 books:))
Though i still have a micro-sd port I can use if needed if I fill up the onboard storage
close to 1000 here. Some still unread.
My to read list never gets caught up, and that is a good thing:)
yeah me too. On my last reader I had the single books on the reader and the series on the sd-card. But this reader has a lot more capacity and I haven't had to get myself an sd card yet. Oh... I could use the one from my last reader. Lol. How stupid.
lol. I have then in the internal storage every which way:)
amen to that! Most of my life I always hit that darn wall of staring at the book shelves and thinking I didn't have anything left to read. But ever since the reader, I am in reader's heaven
80% with cover art, the rest without
The ereader saved me from having to turn my living room into a library;)
All my book shelves are full!
I have started over with calibre with my new reader, and now everything is with cover art and a synopsis. And a very consequent way of naming the files.
I have given away most of my books now. Still love real books, but we truly needed the space. House was bursting at the seams because of all the books.
yes. i must take the time one day to organize everything. 20% of my books are still in pdf when they do not need to be. Epub uses 50% less space
I still cannot give up my "dead tree" books, as my son calls them.
yes, I always convert them now, when adding them to calibre. I made a mess before, and found out that didn't work for me. I love it how I have it all in one style now.
I find that a house is not a home without the comforting warmth of a least a few book cases.
I have a space for both in my world still:)
oh I fully agree. A living room without any books is not a place to live in. We have books in every room. Even the bathroom, lol, next to the toilet.
and the mrs gets to keep her living room! lol
I use calibre so much i should really send them some money one day:)
oh I already did. Not much, just a little bit. It is so incredibly useful.
Think I sent them 20 dollars once, but they are due for another stipend to be sure.
good for you :D
it is one of a very few select programs that I would pay a full price for.
yes it is. Very versatile, very easy to work with and as I said, so very useful.
crossy dont know if you know or not finders keepers is the newest stephen king book.. no 2 of mr merceds
hi ivesy!
Ahh ok, tyvm for the intel, Ivesy
and good morning..!
Morning all.
Howdy, sukee
Hi crossy.
hi sukee!
crossy, it is in your email box
Hi sprite.
how's life for you, ivesy and sukee?
seems Mr Mercedes and Finders keepers is to be part a trilogy:)
So so, did you hear I had to put my kitty down?
tyvm sprite:)
Getting used to life without him.
aw sukee, how sad :( I am so so sorry. Hurts like hell, having to let go of a beloved pet.
yes crossy.. i think i may try them. havent read mr king in quite awhile
nps crossy, my pleasure :)
It was time though, I don't regret that. Just miss him :)
yeah, I know how that is :( I kept seeing my cat after I had to put him down... and then realising it couldn't be.
lol. Now I have 7 more books on my to-read list:)
You must rescue another kitty, Sukee
In time.
embarrasment of riches, crossy
I love those kind of riches:)
yeah, first mourn the loss of this one. Animals are like people. You cannot replace one with the other.
((sukee))
Although, when I got this one is was only about a month after my other died. He sort of fell into my arms due to the machinations of a friend.
was he a consolation?
He was actually, we took to each other right away.
awww so sweet :)
raindear - very dyslectic reindeer
I always wonder. He was born a month after my mother had died and I ended up getting him 3 years later :) He was almost a link to her.
aww that is special
Anyway, have seen some sweet rescue kitties already :)
Probably won't go for a kitten when I do, too much energy :)
We have a no-kill policy here. Once the shelter spaces are full, long time residents get fostered out and are matched with forever homes first.
oh I like that, crossy
it works very well, except for when the foster family has to say good-bye
I thought of fostering, but I would get too attached.
That can be hard sometimes
snap
that is holding me back as well.
Anway, handling it by cleaning up, getting rid of left over cat hair and cat litter which gets everywhere.
*hugs sukee*
Got rid of most things except his bed. Although someone said another cat would never use it,
oh sometimes they do, sukee.
Anyway, day by day it get better :)
:)
9 8 letter words? Really?
This is shaping up to be an interestin grid:)
yeah all kinds. Compound, plurals, superlatives
I am just going down my list jamming those endings on everything to see what clicks
lol I did the same thing. Works like a charm in this grid
added 15 more words just now in doing that:))
fireflies. A very very nice grid today. Not too many unwords. *hugs* to you all and enjoy your day!
tc ((sprite))
and ty once again for the books:)
I have not seen Rose lately. Is she ok?
Take care
I think I saw her chat yesterday, I missed her.
be7/40, please?
Don't have that one yet.

Finally nbt.

lone E third column please?
e + past tense of what a covert agent does
ty, Molly:)
ahhhhhhh
Hursh is still stuck in oooohhh, ahhhh mode from the fireworks. : D
di8, please?
no i HATE fireworks
di8 ends in what a group of Native Americans is called
i am in ahhh weekend morning cats are fed and now we can cuddle and find words
Ty Molly, that gives the 9 too :)
fireworks are rude and insensitive to: veterans, children, animals, the elderly, people with insomnia...
I agree, we had them on July 1 and then on July 4 in my neighbourhood. Started at 10:30 PM.
One went whizzing past my balcony on Wednesday.
Molly, i think I get the ending but what is the beginning?
Well Marc, connect di to that word using another letter
DI + vowel + ending
fireworks make me almost as mad as daylight savings time
:)
thats only 7 letters if it ends in reds?
No Marc, it is referring to a group of Indians, or the groups on Survivor.
spanish day + indian clan, is that better?
No idea here on the di8
The ****** has spoken...
Native Americans have them. They are also in Africa - the Dogon, the Zulu....
DI + vowel + tr 4/14
Cherokee and Chocktaw are both....of indians
The Cherokee, the Iraquois
got it thanks sorry so thick and slow
tr 5/14 :)
tx for the di7, 8!
:)
ty, matty
What are the stats for the lonely E in the middle column?
ES 6/24
finally! NBT:)
good morning
wtg
and NBS
Howdy, Dorens
Thankee kindly!
Hi dorens.
hey dorens :-)
Ok, stomach is growling, must go eat :)
Good luck.
back to speaking English? :-)
tip: if you were going to see Jurassic World because of the marine dinosaur - it only has like 2 scenes. :(
hurshy, it's been a long time. How are you doing?
i'm fine thanks, how are you?
A lot older, retired, and enjoying life.
wow did you know that some of a blue whale's blood vessels are so big you could swim down them?
ewwww
not surprising. They are big suckers.
that's AMAZING - just started watching BBC's "Blue Planet" :)
wow . . .
ar8, please?
The glorious David |Attenborough Hershy. He must be one of the most loved people in Britain!
:)
i've also enjoyed the "walking with..." serieses with kenneth branagh
Marc...it's where your blood flows
Recently saw an interview with him and President Obama and the President was interviewing him not the other way round
attenborough, i assume, not branagh
thanks got it
Yes sorry a couple of messages got in the way!
:)
it's a little crazy tho how much we anthropomorphize animals, with the words we choose to describe things in these documentaries
hi hurshy, what show are you talking about?
i mean i know that the more intelligent animals can mourn the loss of their babies, but when it says like the whale calf that the mother "cherished in her womb for thirteen months" or whatever - CHERISH is a pretty loaded word!
bichon i've mentioned 2 series - "the blue planet" narrated by david attenborough, i'm watching right now
True I don't suppose the poor cow (and I think that IS a female whale)really knew what was happening
I think I've seen the Blue Planet. What is the other one
and then there are like 4 sets of "walking with..." series narrated by kenneth branagh. (first set is monsters - creatures before the dinosaurs - second set is dinosaurs - third set is beasts (after dinosaurs but before people) - fourth set is cavemen)
the monsters one especially just blows my mind
You just cant believer they aren't real!!
Sounds cool hurshy, thanks
well, sure, the cgi or whatever is impressive. but to me the mind blowing part is the sheer span of time and number of crazy species that existed, and the number of mass extinctions that have happened, the scale of it all is... so vast
never thought i'd feel bad for sardines...
Not on Netflix streaming. Is it on PBS?
the walking withs are on amazon, free if you have prime
they used to be on netflix but got taken off in the last switcheroo of programming :(
I don't have Amazon Prime, are they currently showing?
you should check amz anyway, they might be free even without prime.
i don't know if they are currently showing them. i watched them back when they were on netflix.
doubt it, maybe the library will have them
maybe
sorry to be a tease...
Super. My library has them
yay!
Let's hear it for public libraries
And the people who work in them
hip hip - HOORAY!
I only have one 8 (the di8), and only because that was clued. I feel very dense.
ar8 blood vessels
So obvious, once you're clued ;)
ni8 has all the rest of its letters in common with ar8

That one not so obvious ;)

Now it is time for crossy's tidbit of the day!! In the United states it is illegal to own a feather from a bald eagle unless you have the proper permit. Even if you find one on the ground, you must contact the National Eagle Repository and in most cases turn the feather in to the proper authorities:)
Love the mo8, think Ill build myself one!!
I did not know that crossy. but I do not think I would recognize a bald eagle feather if I saw one.
here we have the same restrictions on our provincial flower, the trillium. 25k fine for picking one.
They grow wild here on Blue Mountain. They are white when new but turn a beautiful violet colour near the end of their life cycle.
Fini!!
yaa for Bubba!
clues???
congrats, bubba
Good day fine folks of Babble Land!
none for me, ty. I still have to put in some sweat on this one:)
howdy, scrabby:)
congrats bubba!
I just started so I will plod along but thanks
Hi Scrabs,
the lone e in the middle please?
i couldn't get the po8 from the clues... could you give it a go please?
when you want a check cashed pater, you po8 it
po8 a cheque marked for cashing after today
later
Hi Scrabbs
cheque.. been typing for american magazines too much of late;)
po8, put tomorrow on your check instead of today
ty for the po8... hmmm musty not have been the one i couldn't get - that was easy
What magazines do you write for, crossy?
Last evening, when I was out for dinner with friends at a restaurant, eating outside, I saw the doctor that helped me deliver my first baby in med school.
Wow!
Just a main clearing house for writers, Words of Worth.
Mya not get used, but I keep submitting them.
okay
I hesitated to approach him and his family but wanted to tell him that I learned so much from him.
mm, I am a tad dyslexic today:(
He must have been happy to be recognized and approached
My friends told me to go over. Dr Patterson is 92 years old today. He was thrilled that I said hello. His son with him is a pediatrician in California!
I am sure he was glad to see you again, scrabby
I hope you did Scrabbs, I'm sure he (she) would have appreciated it
crossy, I thought they were mags that could be purchased in a store
It was such a poignant conversation. He is such a kind man and influenced me so much, inspiring me to be a kind, caring doc.
Nope, not yet, annie. I still have a long way to go.
He is tiny and frail now. His son had to lift him up under the arms so he could stand up and then walk with a cane.
You gave that impression, crossy
Like they say "if it was easy, everybody would be doing it" :)
I am sorry if I gave the wrong impression. I am writing for them, but it may end up in the trash basket, better?
He helped me deliver that baby in the spring of 1984, so that baby is now 31!
lol. time flies, scrabby
What a thrill, Scrabbs.
so you are submitting stories that you hope will be accepted. I do that too but I do not say I am writing for them. I am submitting stories that I hope (fingers crossed) that will be accepted. Just want to get that straight.
I wanted Dr Patterson to know that a former student remembers and admires him.
Ok, we have it straight now.
I stand corrected.
:)
I will make sure to quantify it from here on in.
promise.
I have an idea to interview Dr Patterson and write a story for our med school magazine. He has so much wisdom to share at age 92.
Scrabbs, Do it. It would be an inspiring story
Great idea, scrabby! Our elderly are a fount of knowledge. when they pass it is like a library closing down.
I think he is in a local assisted living home or nursing home. His wife died 5 years ago. I will do some detective work and track Dr P down.
So, to clarify; I have one article and one short story that is being CONSIDERED for publication. They may end up in a landfill, they may not.
Let's go, Crossy, write something that an editor will publish.
Working on it! :)
This ole first gen HP compaq office computer of mine has turned out to be the best word cruncher i have ever owned:)
Then we can say, "We know the guy that wrote that article."
An article on personal injury awards for a law firm and a sci-fi short:)
always something different:)
quite a few authors in babble. Roundbarn for one and we have one babbler that write children's stories I believe:)
I've written these - https://drablr.com/mattygroves - they're short stories that are exactly 100 words long
taking a look matty...
(Anyone who does look shall learn my real name :) )
Have you put anything on poetry.com, matty. i think you may enjoy it there as well.
I have a dozen or so entries there.
Interesting, Matty. Exactly 100 words. That is fascinating.
love the "Cubism" short:)
I've been published a lot. Used to do articles, interviews and reviews for local arts papers, published a number of poems and edited university poetry journals. Wrote for one of the top 10 Canuck political blogs blogs for a number of years (we folded it a few years back, total of 1.5 million unique hits). The key is to keep writing, keep submitting, weather rejections and carry on.
I have learned to have a thick skin, bonkler. they edit without mercy:(
all part of the deal. bizarre to submit, get accepted and then read something that has been put through the editorial grinder
Great, bonkler.

((kje))--Happy July 4th for you.
foggy but cool day
I keep typing misspelt
Hello friends
thanks scrab... its a memorable one
Hi Car. Your back is still doing well?
i had a mexican coffee yesterday and I think that just became my fave drink
I've hit a few bumps but overall much better than it was. I'm still not stable and have taken a couple of tumbles.
What makes it Mexican? Tequila?
orange peel and cinnamon stick in the bottom of the cup, then they poured in a shot of tequila, then a cup of press pot, then a shot of grand marnier
OOOh coffee would be good right now... I found a drink at the local bar called Black Jacket... Espresso coffee with vodka
I love coffee and citrus together - usually eat several clementines with my morning cup
that sounds really nice kje
Ah. I just like flavored creamers in my coffee.
Yummmm
I never use flavored creamers, but I may try just an orange peel... prob shouldn't do the shots in the AM
it is 5pm somewhere kje! LOL
black jacket sounds like what we call an espresso martini
hi all, going to meet my god daughter for lunch. bbl to finish
exactly - which one of you have 5 or later on your clock right now!

1st time back in ages so I am aiming for 100 today
It is about 1.30am... cant sleep of course so babble a bit. Have been lured back by Crossy.
Hi dorens!! ((hugs))
Crossy is very alluring.
Great to see you, Katie! We need more of the old-timers to return, to make this the sanctuary that it once was.
Lots of chatter lately on FB so I thought I would come say hello. he most certainly is!
I saw it on Facebook and thought that too
And Doren is here too. Been kayaking recently? Oh, you were in Europe, I just remembered.
One person's sanctuary is another person's asylum.
We were always such a lovely community! it is nice to see the good ol' faces back!
Well said, Judi!
indeed judi!! LOL
Who says we babble addicts! we just can nnot stay away in the end :-)
Hi zooz

Indeed! *feeling warm and fuzzy* Or that could just be a hot flash.
I just passed halfway and it wasn't easy to get there.
Oh my goodness Judi! I swear I am going through that at the moment! No wonder I can't sleep
lol
this grid looks very meaty
Just remembered that I used to work through the grid logically rather than just throw words at it 😄
Stats for the center E please?
Silly Katie.
Sympathies, MrP. Although, I have to say, the menopause thing has been quite mild for me. Doc says it's because I have a "virgin womb".
es6
what is a virgin womb?
I must get covered with sunscreen and bug repellent so I can go work in my gardens.
Was never pregnant. Just a bunch of cobwebs in there, I guess.
I keep typing 'stupid'
Bye scrabbled enjoy the garden
ah of course
I had my virgin womb removed at age 41. Good riddance. Nothing but trouble for me. OK, time to go.
Clue please for the ES...I'm struggling to wake up
see ya scrabs
Have a great day, Scrabs!
E + watched covertly.
E + PT of watching someone secretly.
Snap, Judi!
womb is in the grid
Ugh...tyvm
So it is!
I better go pretend to sleep so I can fall asleep. see you all in the later morning :))
:Nice to see you! Sleep well
Sweet dreams, MrP!
Toodle pips, Mrp.

*imagines une in wxpensive sneakers*
What carries blood, Bzznbea.

ar8 large blood vessels
snap zooz :-)
and hello everybody
:-)
ruby!!! how are you feeling??
is your son still there?
depressed, hurting and overwhelmed
so sorry, ruby
oohhh so sorry :-(
Tomorrow I have to come up with a solution for my husband because I can't go on like this
((Ruby))
No kj.. i was kind of sick in bed with a migraine
Well, that sucks, Ruby. {{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}
Thanks, all. was using the wrong A...
sorry, ru
I think that Social Services will be able to help and there is a woman in my village who works with a big agency for help at home
But this weekend was the qworst
Ruby, you are still in my good thoughts and prayers and I light a candle for you every day.
hi all. sorry about migraine ru. Hope you'll find a solution Ruby.
Hello, Dorens :-)
I know, Molly, and, belive me, it helps to have you wishing me well
hope social services will have a good solution for you . . .
hey zoo. has the heat abated at all?
Trade you a broken fibia for migraine, ru.
Ms venice 2015
Yes it has, Dorens. But still warm & humid though.
I would trade anything not to get a migraine
Hi Ruby - good to 'see' you. Hope your treatment is going well.
Bea, what did I miss? When did you break your leg?
so sorry to hear, bea!
It's an agonizing decision to have to make, Ruby. My husband's family just went through it with his mum. In the end, you can only make the choice that provides the best care for your loved one and gives you the most peace of mind.
hah! Venice? More like Paris. ALthough Venice was simply gorgeous!! magical sort of. I'm so glad I got there, but Paris is my heart. Sorry to hear about your leg, Bea. But since you're 6 years old you'll at least heal quickly!!
True words Judi
You are not supposed to take it seriously bea when someone says hurry up ..break a leg
On Friday.
Has anyone hear read "Being Mortal" by Atul Gawande? He is a great proponent for having end of life discussions. Hope the medical profession will pay attention.
God, this place is full of the broken, sick and hurting. With a few happy travelers thrown in for balance I guess.
I agree, dozens - venice was nice, but paris is so much better. Venice was my least favorite place in Italy
dorens, not dozens - damn you autocorrect
My cat has no respect for my words of wisdom. She's under the desk biting my toes at this very moment.
My family is enjoying the beach while I watch from the deck...
There is an article inThe New Yorker (June 22) called The Death Treatment..quite interesting
hah. i like dozens.
You sure that is the cat judi?
Alas, yes, Ru.
Oh gosh, Ruru is off!
Was Ruby here?
annie, Gawande writes for the New Yorker... that article might have been his. WIll have to look at it - through the many piled up New Yorkers here.
Yes she was, Annie.
Just gentle love bites. Hey, I'll take what I can get.
Dorens, The article I am speaking about is by Rachel Aviv
{{annie}} I just called the local place that may have solutions for some of these problems. I am desperate
no, that isn't his work, dorens. that article was about euthenasia
no, that isn't his work, dorens. that article was about euthanasia
Gawande is one of my heroes
It is about time ruby
not assisted suicide, or death with dignity, etc... but active euthanasia as it is occurring right now in belgium and holland mostly
Anyway Ruby, I don't think all this end of life discussion was prompted by you or your husband.
Tomorrow I hope to find out if my condition is treatable
(((ruby)))
Having my son here just aggravated the situation
hugs hugs hugs to you, Ruby -- please let us know what you hear . . .
has he left?
Uh oh. I thought your son was helping out, Ruby.
Yes, he left yesterday AM and left behind a bigger mess than when he arrived
And he is talking about coming back in a month!!!!@ NO NO NO
*watches Scott crawl under desk and push cat away*
hope he'll respect your wishes, ruby
lol. Scott is eating his breakfast. No toes involved.
To be fair, he did help me with some things but messed around with all my stuff, trying to change my life.
Well Ruby, you know how I feel about your son's lack of help. That is all I will say lest I get taken to task again.
Now he's posting pictures of our family on FB
I wouldn't ever take you to task, Molly. I know you have my interests at heart and you realize what he's like
Thank you Ruby, that is the heart felt truth.
Bichon is right, you need a daughter. Come to think of it, so do I.
I neede a french maid. For all that is worth
Ruby, if you don't want him back, you should be able to tell him that. Do you have any way to dialogue with him?
Poor Ruby. Sounds like she needs a daughter, a personal assistant, a maid, a health coach, social services, a shrink and a nice long stay at a secluded all-inclusive spa.
Oh that's worth a lot ru~~
Need to do some cooking. Later, gators.
Ru , you know you can um...rent those kind of women
Bye ms. D
Judi, you're right. At the moment, I would settle for an hour to myself
Oh great start, Ru, off, Dorend, Then leave!
Dorens*
gotta run -- ruby, please know you're in my thoughts xxoo
merci beaucoup, une
Adjusts the alcohol in zooz's cocktail...
Ruby, I ask G-D every night to help you.
I know, Annie, and Soodle says masses (or has them said).
I had a great margarita yesterday. Nearly blew my socks off.
I am just praying that this can be treated with whatever combo of radiation and chemo is necessary.
I don't think surgery is an option
Not had a cocktail for decades.
Oh..if that is the case annie. Go to judi's for some toe nibbling
I've lost my desire for alcohol although a margarita would hit the spot
Soodles masses really work, especially for us Jews
:) ru
I hope so
Hey! Stop volunteering my toes as appetizers!
lol
Judi, It is my toes ru is offering. Not a bad id4.
Off to the farmers market to see if there are any greens left. Later, kids! *POOF*
Kind of a peticure session

ty
TR 6/24 Fearful or apprehensive
Not sure if I have the correct one as not listed.
nice clue zzoozz
ah, ty
*Tries to picture Soodle saying Mass....isn't working
Welcome.
on a serious note ruby.. I don't think it is out of line to tell your son.. I'd rather not have you come back unless you can be kind to me
I think Soodle would get way too much into the sacramental wine and end up singing "The Winner Takes It All" instead of giving a sermon
he was kinder this time, but he still made such a mess of my "stuff" that I don't see how I'll ever find anything again. He's into having a streamlined life
But Masses said by Irish priests have a certain kind of magic, for Jews and others alike
streamlined is good ruby ..but patience and kindness are more important
<-- loves the Irish and their priests. That's probably why I married a Kelley the first time, an Irish wannabe
<---planning to have been "married" only once
Streamlined isn't my style. I love my clippings and being able to share them with friends. It gives me pleasure so what's the harm
I have been throwing away stuff every weekend that I don't need
I like looking through my things on the weekends; it's calming.
I do throw stuff away, but not enough to suit other people.
However, it's MY studio and I knew where everything was
well.. then.. that's what is important to you.. tell him to leave it alone next visit.
have to shlep these weary bones upstairs as my husband is going ballistic because he can't work the TV
Good night, my babble friends, I hope to have good news to share tomorrow
take care ruby
((Ruby))
I planned on being married only once too. But I didn't stay in my first marriage as long as you did, Ru.
you aren't anywhere near as dumb as I am molly
I found an ep7 by accident
Oh...ha ha...we could debate that fact over several drinks : D
Ah I only need one E and I do not have an Ep7 is it a compound word at all, Ru?
no
Ok thanks.
it would describe me as someone who likes to needle people
Oh I like the clever clue, Ru.Got it!
Thank you :-)

your pic always reminds me of the Christmas when I got a six shooter with a real leather holster and a cowboy hat.... ;o)
I had a lot of outfits like this as a kid. I wanted to be a cowboy
but then Tony Romo came along and that ended that dream
She's an old cowhand, from the Rio Grande
<--loves Dan Hicks
Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be (Dallas) Cowboys
that's me!....led me to take guitar lessons, too....
uhm.. molly..? .. the dallas cowboys are a bunch of babies
Oh sorry, I thought they were show boat hot dogs

yqw nan.. <---the essence of modesty
it's two m's and two t's... ;o)
he was really a great player too
It's actually Emmitt. I forget the last "cross letter"
Oh, I see I was already corrected by Pen.
no snake letters?
di 7?
no hump letters?
Notice I did not whine and freak out about the "spelling Nazis"
:D
di7 to wade in water (shortly) + most of earth
i only posted because of ru's questioning comment about the spelling...
It's okay Pen, I appreciate being corrected if I misspell a word. I have a great love of words and it's important to me to spell them in full, and correctly.
I don't even know how to spell tony romo
not seeing that di 7
don't have it yet....
ends with most of the word that goes with Firma
oh -- see it now - ty ru
I have to jump in the shower and entertain bids on my old house :D!! wish me luck
good luck, ru!

I do love beef barley soup.. wish I could have been there too :D
Aww, thank you, my darling:)

Yup, Kate; toss any diet you may have right out the window for a day.

I'm still wanting to come, crossy. Gotta get my health back first, though.
<----refuses to diet, life's too short and food's too tasty
You get healthy, Mimi, that is the best thing you can do for yourself and us--your friends.
Unfortunately, no, Kate. Not physically well at all. My legs aren't working well and no one knows why. But I won't bore everyone with the details of my physicality again.
Hi Mimi, sorry you're not feeling well :(
My thoughts exactly, kate. in 100 years we are all a worm feast anyways.
You are the sweetest man, crossy.
good healing thoughts for mimi
lol, careful.... we'll take over and "please" and "sorry" you all crazy...
Sorry, kate;))
with a side order of poutine !!!!
Thank you, Elegant. It's been rough and I've had to adjust to doing things differently and using a walker in my apt.
Thanks, carlee.
Oh Mimi! I'm so sorry, and you won't be boring us at all! We want to know what's going on, as long as you want to share...
And a couple of Eh's
The good thing is due to all the illness I've lost over 40 lbs.!
Not a good way to diet, though.
Nobody here will deride you for voicing your health concerns.
Hurray for Mimi! Boo the mystery illness!

I'm still doing the transcription sporadically but may be losing my job...just another stressor. I'm pretty much living in meltdown mode these days.
lol @ Canuckleland
I am sorry to hear that the work is drying up, Mimi:(
And my daughter came over to help me yesterday for a short time and before she left we got into a discussion where she's blaming again for something in the past that I don't understand. Depresses me big time.
{{{{{((((((MIMI)))))}}}}} EXTRA EXTRA HUGZ FOR YOU Just hold on.... there is an end to this... it's not forever (though it may seem like it)
The past is written in stone and cannot be altered or changed one whit. I am a firm believer in moving on and living in the present:)
Yes, I know, Kate. The one good thing about getting to this age and having gone through A LOT in life is that I've learned I must endure and eventually it will pass.
(((mimi))) extra hugs for mimi!
po8, please?
crossy bear hugs no less!
She's an adult now... she needs to stop bla,ing and take responsibility for her own life and how she deals with it....
just clued it at 3:55
The kids won't even tell me what the heck I did that was so awful. I thought I was a good mother and kept my kids close but apparently I'm delusional. If they would just talk it out with me we could resolve it.
just clued Marc, want another clue?
thanks
((((((((((((((Mimi))))))))))))) take care of yourself, don't let life get you down.
You're right, Kate. She's 28, a paralegal, married and needs to move on. I think this is painful for her, too, so it needs to be resolved. The thing is, I know my kids really love me or they wouldn't be upset by whatever it is.
Thank you, Elegant. I'm so looking forward to meeting you and crossy and seeing the beautiful place where you live. I've looked Georgian Bay up on a map and seen some shapshots and it looks heavenly.
We are blessed to live in this area.
I'm hoping to move to California when the inheritance comes and my best friend is moving with me. We plan to get houses next to each other.
Share a house!
hmmm.... the chog ate my response to you...
No---I want to live alone. Next door is close enough.
Darn the chog!
re 7/8, pls
bichon....gets something prepared....and then it's the most prepared...
We'd love to have you. It's a beautiful area, Were surrounded my gorgeous forests and many small bodies of water.
Basically, I said if it's importasnt enough to bring up then it's important enough to talk about.. if they won't talk they should shut up about whatever it is...or go to a counsellor

yw...
had a decent time up that way a few days ago crossy and elegant..was in inverhuron for 4 days
stooopid chog gremlins...
I have a counselor who's dying to get my kids in a room with me. I really trust him and have seen him in "action" and he's so good. My background is psychology so I know a good counselor when I see one. We've "worked" together and I love his style.
Are chog gremlins like Cornish pixies?
5 o'clock.... I'm pouring myself a large glass of wine....
was all good until they decided to start warming up unit 6 at the BNGS at 11 pm...sounded like I was on the runway at yyz with a 777 firing up to take off
Hello all. And Elegant in particular!! How lovely to 'see' you!
even if they go separately... that would help.
It's only 2 here but, hey, it's obviously 5 o'clock somewhere....cheers!
Ahh yes, your camping trip on a flight path:(
Hi, Soodle!
well..not the flight path..the shoadow of Bruce nuclear
shadow*...that sounded LIKe a flight path
its 5 here!
((((Mimi)))) so sorry to see you have been under the weather. Get well soon.
hi sods
Just think of that warm, green glow as a big night-light:)
soods* yeesh
Hello Soodle.
5 pm here as well:))
I'm more than willing to talk and to own anything I've done. What can I do but apologize and they've seen me change a lot of one issue I had so they should be proud of me because it wasn't at all easy but I did it.
Lol, Carlee - I've been called worse!
Thanks, Soodle.
Typos are contagious.
And are deadly in my line of work!
Of course, I don't do typos when I work....?!
Oh i think I have you beat these days with typos crossy... oh well... I apologize now.. is a blanket apology... covers all of my typos for the next 7 hours...
And obviously you gave them the tools needed to live well in the world, mimi:)
My writing has to be so exact that i tend to let myself losse in here.
loose
Sorry to side-track, but I've just watched the final episode of Season 3 Orange Is The New Black. I'm all warm & fuzzy. It was a spectacular ending!!
you and me both crossy... you and me both...
Yes, exactly, crossy. They all have independent, good lives and all have college degrees. I couldn't have been that bad. Heck, they used to bring their friends home to talk to me about their problems.
That is the line of work I'd like to get into, counseling.
Was an amazing ending!
Now we are going through the new season 3 of Wentworth
I've just been offered a counseling job that, unfortunately, I'll have to decline. I'd really love to take it, though.
I am just finishing up sons of anarchy..2 more episodes..
I have more than just an education, I have so much life experience that there's nothing anyone can throw at me that I won't relate to....actually NOTHING.
I'm working on Cedar Cove on Netflix right now.
Ooooh Carlee - the final series of SOA has just been made available here..... Rubbing hands in anticipation!
I dont know that one mimi
Still need to finish House of Cards but it has gotten a bit boring for me.
ohhhh it is good..and I just went to stratford this week and saw hamlet sooooooooo .....
It's a bit obscure, carlee. I haven't heard anyone talk about it. But I enjoy it.
I am working on the education part. Then I have to decide what I'm doing, if I want to tackle college for 2 to 4 more years.
HoC got boring for me in the first season.. I started person of interest this week too
My head is spinning chog flying at light speed in all different directions!
It's absolutely worth it to get a Master's degree, Elegant. No one will hire you with less.
re 7/28, last one, pls
Already too much wine, Kate?!!
that is what I am working on now..1 more year... then on to my PhD
MImi...is that the Brit version of house of Cards? I t was fantastic!
Nope, the American version with Kevin Spacey.
re + choo choo...
ty pen
yw...
Is it based on the original, or sometyhing completely different?
Good for you, carlee. I'm actually still not finished either but had to quit after going back 3 years ago due to financial issues. Still planning to continue, though.
the chog ate my stuff again...
Yes, it's similar to the original, Kate, but I like this one better.
Aw, someone forgot to feed it. LOL
Hi, dc!
thanks mimi.. am I mjust now putting together my proposal... finished my coursework... then ethics..then interview and write
I think you'd be a great counsellor type person |Mimi. I would want to see you working with peoplke rather than pushing papers as an administrator
hi dc
hello, mimi, carlee, and kate
OK...I need to eat something. Haven't eaten yet and it's after 2. As I said, this illness has been good for dieting.
Evening everyone
Hey Seain!! Long time, etc....
carlee, it's been very exciting watching your journey through education. :) I'm very impressed with all you've achieved thus far.
And Katie... Same. :-)
why hello, soodle and katie! Long time indeed.
Hi Seain, I have some connectivity issues.. connect/'t even realise it until I go looking for something I input... like words to the list or a comment in the chog..\disconnect/reconnect... half th time I don
thanks DC..its been a journey to say the least lol
Thank you, Kate. I seem to have a knack for it. I've done paraprofessional counseling in the past and in the last couple of years have been in groups where I basically ran the show because that counselor I was talking about saw that people related to me so well that he just let me go!
It's HOMECOMING WEEK IN BABBLONIA!
LOL :D
lol.. it is rather a homecoming isnt it>
YAY!!!!
that's great MImi.. godd on the resume.. and for a good recommendation
That's wonderful, carlee...good for you. The writing is the part I like. I've always written. I wrote a one-act play when I was 10.
it is a lovely chog right now:))))
the newbies will come in and go WTH?!?!?! what happened?
i love the writing too mimi... and the connections...
ah, they'll get over it... sometimes the chog flies and sometimes it crawls...
Yes, crossy, this is the supportive community I know. I just love it here and get so much support and affection.
It is like a timewarp
Are you on Linked In yet, carlee? If not, you should sign up...it's free and lots of people see your profile.
I never knew Carleecat was Mrs. Elegant
Is she????
and if the typo thing really is contagious, |I am your "Typhoid Mary"
no I'm crossy's wife
LOL, Kate.
I try to keep it down to one wife at a time:))
wiat what? huh? what just happened?
That's what I thought.....
what do they call it? the index patient/patient zero... something like that
Really going to eat now. Thanks for all the support, everyone, it really does help. I had no appetite before this discussion and now am hungry so it really helped. Hugs to all.
Wow! Well, hi
LOL Crossy! One is more htan enough!
tc ((mimi))
You'd better or I'll kick your butt.
how in the heck did THAT happen?
(((((((((((((((((Mimi))))))))))))))))) take care of yourself.
Not sure, carlee;)
lol..I 'll join you in kicking his butt elegant ;)
<waves bye to Mimi> come again soon!!!! PROMISE....

No worries about crossy....it's very obvious he adores his wife. It's one of the things we love most about him.

Howdy, saanichat

hi saan
so... Mrs. Elegant... how is it htat you are able to join us now? Has Crossy managed to rig up a fancy tv so you can see the chog/grid? PS.. glad you're here. ... We always heard about you,but no Mrs Crossy ever appeared until the babble meet up last year...
(starting to think Crossy might be delusional)
yes, hello to Elegant in person is appropriate and long overdue
You can also see pictures of my beloved on my web site kate. She is very real:))
No, I can blow up the fonts to whatever I want. Going back to school has made me more determined not to let my disability stop me.
Bugs my dear friend, I have a very comfy bed in the basement but today was something else, right out of a Ray Bradbury story. The smoke from the Port Hardy fire has enveloped us. The sun is an orange blob. The winds picked up and the arbutus leaves are flying and it is so hot!!
Hi Saan! Welcome to the Grid which has been temporarly moved to All places with British ties...
am hoping that you are faring better
She fights for what she wants and does not let her vision hold her back;plus, i am there to aid her if she wishes it.
I see that Kate! A fun day
Congrats on the new confidence Elegant and it's nice to meet you
nice to make your acquaintance, Elegant.
I can set the font types and size to suit me needs. I try to catch posts but sometimes it goes too fast but I try.
omg poor Saanich. I have not stepped foot outside today so must go check to see if we are affected by the Port Hardy fire. It concerns me a lot to see what is happening in our province and hope we don't go the way of Saskatchewan
that makes sense, and i'm glad you know how to do that, elegant.
Sanni, i'm sorry to hear that, but am glad you're well despite it all.
Thanks Katie, nice to meet you as well. And you as well Dcseain.
welcome Elegant to Babble
this has been a very fast chog Elegant... nnot usually so quick.

Thanks, saanichcat. :)
It's so exciting seeing people both familiar and new here today. :)

oh, just noticed Elegant was here.....good night lovebirds!
that's wonderful news (as well as a wonderful story)
may i make a suggestion? meet halfway for a visit, just the two of you
detroit more of a pain bc of the border...
welki... the wisdom of solomon. a judge!
well the point was river was coming here and we were going to spend the days on my beach... siping wine etc
sipping* even
don't know whether to say thank you or poke you in the eye :D
carlee... Buffalo?
passing welki and dorens more sangria... drink up...
well, if you go to buffalo, you can meet up with scrabbler!
oh. that's different carlee welki don't poke me! I meant it as a compliment
g'nite zooz, ty for the great clues!
I am sure the Detroit border is bury
again..buffalo is a pain with the border crossing and can beheld up for hours at the bridges..either way
*busy
pass some this way please, carlee?
then, thank you, dorens (glad i asked)
scrabs and featherbee too in buffalo
i can't believe treif isn't a word.
*opens a bottle of godiva chocolate for owl*
tref
pours To some more sangria... here is another brownie too hun
so many arbitrary yiddish words. can we have tapas with that sangria please?
oooh, ty welk. *runs to get ice cold vanilla vodka*
I haven't looked for one word since I started chatting...lol!
seriously owl? vanilla vodka? an alliteration!
just looked it up - treif/tref, tomato, tomahto
go ahead and whip up a batch dorens.. I am watching that my scones don't over bake
well, i am a very literate tippler, dorens.
when drinking, i am a titerate lippler
that is part of the problem river. My life was a lot easier when I wasn't reading chog. I want grilled sheeps milk with wild honey from the Dolomites.
:D
i had that in Venice last week! It was divine. I will just hop out to the imaginary cheese shop down the road ~~ back in a jiffy!
lol welki... ( snort)
toast points nice an crispy....loaded with tomato, mozzarella, spices and bit of vinegar...ready anyone?
but the chog is fun tonight
Hi, all!
pass em over river
hail hail!
PAM!!!!!! (squishy hugs)
hey, pam
hello Pam
*passes Pam some sangria too*
OMG!!! Have we hijacked the chog? I had other plans for this evening, but this is sort of priceless.
Howdy! Soccer and a large grid and a great day wandering a museum in Providence. Plus, I heard ru has offers on his house, so I have to celebrate! Clink!
pretty much... it is an old guard evening
Hi, welki, riverdance, doresn, carlee, et al.
which soccer match pam?
He's had four offers. I predict a bidding war. His house looks like something out of Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous
Hi Pam... welcome! I believe someone is getting your drink now. please pass the toast point bruschetta....
Hi Pam... welcome! I believe someone is getting your drink now. please pass the toast point bruschetta....
hi pam
Car;lee.. I meant for River to fly into Buffalo....but I'm the other side of the river from scrabbs and featherbee too...
Owl, been to the shore yet this summer?
yea... I know the trouble with flying in at a border... the wait time at the bridges can be hours either or both ways... never predictable...but if River flies into canada.. customs taken care of in the airport.
If I could find a cheap flight to Buffalo, I would get a room for a couple days to have a babble meetup.....but will still miss out on Carlee beach!
Elegant and Crossy slipped out whilst I was pouring more wine... belated goodbyes!
no, doren. you?
making more sangria
true car.... when is she wanting to come?
Sorry--am wandering. Women's world cup. US vs Japan--finals!!!!
Nope. Beach Haven on the 15th for two days though.
The border in Vermont is not bad getting into Canada but horrible coming home.....experienced that last summer
You must not miss Carlee beach... I would go if I was invited...
way too long a drive for me to where you are
... so you're cheering for Japan Pam? LOL
come on up TK....is a private ( sort of... just residential) beach
sounds great. was just a review of a couple of eateries there in the inquirer.
Grand Bend Carlee?
LOL, TK!
if you ever want to do a beach trip and want company, let me know.
:D
I am just outside Sarnia in brights grove...is a cottage town like grand bend without all the grand bend.... ummmmm... stuff
I swear, I must gat some wheels -
just checked mapquest....10 hours 43 minutes on a good day
grand bend is 90km up the lake from me
and they have me driving to detroit
no..you would drive to buffalo.. and cross buffalo to niagara falls to hamilton and down to sarnia
ah! I keep thinking you're in London... btw, most of the "stuff" in Grand bend burned down about 2 yrs ago, better stuff now..
I am in london 1/2 my time..that is where I teach and go to school
how far above the fallls are you, carlee?
I just sleep most nights in Brights grove
i am a 4 hour drive from teh falls
she must go to detroit or somewhere then.. even Toronto to mSarnia is quite a trip..
fun to watch this chat, but time for me to go - great to 'see' everyone
that is a drive.
400 km...hmmm 275mi?ish?
I'm around the corner from the Falls...
toronto to sarnia is 3 hours... not a bad drive though..straight 401-402
I really need to get into another room so I can turn on the soccer.Bye all

night night welki
bye welki!
bye welki!
bye welki!

I am taking my kids on a trip next year.....the last hurrah....thinking Mexico in January
so... you are london... but bright's grove is your haven, got it!

I am part time in each city... I commute to london daily ( drive 200km every day)
end of July or mid August
before school really ramps up for Carlee
high season for airfares :(
I was looking at flights July 30 to Aug 3
actually september might be cheaper... school is always there for me river
but will look later in the month
niters Dorens!
I am in school now
check september rates... and lake still nice early sept
I will check for September fares
once you get to the "shoulder" season, prices are more reeasonable... is Sept "do-able" for both of you?
the only time I cant take off is the last 2 weeks of August as my boss in on vacation to I need to cover
september is fine for me
Would be fun to celebrate my birthday there even if it is later
ok... try second last week august.. last week is peak travel again

hi gwen
Hi folks!
hi feathrbee!
featherbee, wazap?
:)
just back from vacay, TONS of books bought, lol
ooooh, books!
I think I bought more "souvenir books" than actual souvenirs!
yeah, but souveniers just get in the way of all one's books . . .
very true!
I found a GREAT bookstore in Chatham, on Cape Cod, called "Where the Sidewalk Ends". Lovely displays, great write ups by staff. Found "Brain on Fire" there, devoured it in two days.
i have half of one shelf for non-books, and the rest of the shelves, well . . .
sounds like your brain was on fire all right 8 - )
You have a shelf without books??? What's that???
the horrow!
lol!
Hi TO, Kate, anyone else I'm not seeing!

hi ruru! i've peeked in off and on through the months, but have been distracted by lots of other things lately! i've taken up spinning and weaving, for one thing. :)
wow.. a good friend of mine is a professional weaver artist
beautiful things she makes
that's awesome!
i'm nowhere near that level, lol. i've made a bunch of scarves so far.
scarves are a start
yup, that they are. i had fun with one i made for my dad, did the pattern with the fibonacci sequence numbers
my ex was an avid knitter
I treasure the scarves she made me.. I love them
i CAN knit, but enjoy the weaving more right now
:)
I do weaving too
...but mostly after drinking
you do? awesome! oh you brat, lol, you had me for a second.
:D
Hi kids. Yay, Featherbee is here!
*pounces on and hugs scrabs*
44 words in, lol. chatting more than finding words!
*glad he wasn't pounced on*
*pounces on ru for the heck of it*
aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
ruru, we have a new doggie as of a few years ago...sadie...her alter ego is Tigger. she pounces on everything, and loves to bounce!
((Featherbee))
stid is in the grid. i'm sure i'm not the first to notice that. :)
And Peri
haven't gotten to the P yet!
so is Trif
Ah, yes.
Hi, again! US Women rocked the house and I am back....
hi pam! enjoy the game?
Hi Pam!
hiya pam
I enjoyed the win! 5-2, World Cup Champs!
hello again friends. so nice to see evreyone here. Also, congrats to the US women. It was a well deserved win.
hi bugs
Hi Bugsaw
hi bugs :)
Hey, ru! Congrats on the soon-to-be bidding war!
bidding war is over .. it is sold.. thanks though
Hi, bugs!
I'm ready for the beginning of my new life now
did you get it?
congrats!
no.. feather.. I sold it
ohhh, ok, still congrats!
It sold already?! Was there a bidding war or did you just get asking price?
I can buy what I want now.. and have my own home .. and maybe another fancy sports car
we had 4 offers today bugs.. it's sold.. we sold for over the asking price
wow, awesome
Cash..
oh well done! Here is to a new beginning for both of you, fulled with happiness. cash... whew
...even more awesome..
WOOOOT
thanks bugs.. that's how I feel about it too.. it will be good for mrs. ex-ru too
she'll finally be rid of me :D
Great news about selling your house, Ruru.
I have been there. We were not happy together after many years but both of us were good people who deserved happiness. It makes things so much more civila and manageable.
thanks everyone..it's been a lOOOONG haul
Saw Heather's post … dropping in to say hi all!
I like your new husband bugs.. he seems like a very kind man
hi muse!
waves to Pam, Scrabbler and featherbee. So glad you are here.
Hi mymuse! Great to see you here.
Hi Feather and Scrab!
Waves....
there's hope for me yet :D
Much happiness to all.
He is kind but his gentleness is the quality that attracted me. First husband was the boy wonder and big man on campus who came to believe his own press.
night pam
great to see you
aah.. the narcissist type.. I know that one well
ugh, re words
LOL weedie
Still here, ru.... but fading....
it WAS a fun grid :P
congrats weeeeeeedieee
smarty pants
I struggled with this one
no, no, still doing it. the fun slowed down on the RE words.
All done, Featherbee?
oh
I take it all back then
lol, fine, be that way
I need just 139 more but am not seeing any.
189 left here
*hands feather a towel*
*in case you need to throw it in*
nope, not yet! i'll just hang on to it though. i've learned how to be able to walk away from grids over the years.
I have to go switch laundry from washer to dryer.
<---drinking a delicious cava now that I'm free
I can walk away from any grid .... (NOT)
I'm totally OCD about this stupid game
lol
congrats, ru...happy for you....
hello penuqia
sorry, penquis
thanks pen
no problem...pen is fine... ;o)
fingers are a-flyin
*lucky doug*
Hello again, penquis.
hi...
congrats ruru on the sale!
thank you
Feather must be focused on those re- words.
whoops, no, shiny things on FB got me
i'm at my standstill point now, 145 left. still have a zero on that middle column, 4th down E.
es6--looked at someone/something
one who spots something...
heading out....g'nite to all who remain!
ahhh, ty
gave me the s too
night pen
Good night, penquis.
ok, grabbing the list. 143 left.
who maintains the list nowadays?
lickety still
does he still do the grid?
I rarely see him chat. Sometimes he just says that the list is available.
ahhh, k
well i'm very grateful :)
Yes, lickety's list is invaluable in saving us time.
I would find it too frustrating without his list.
i could find more words if i could type correctly....
It's late. You must be tired.
very
i've got 90% of the small bags unpacked, but still haven't touched the suitcases
I leave for the Adirondack Mountains a week from tomorrow. I will start packing in a few days--hiking and kayaking gear.
hi again all
hi carlee!
Hi Carlee
ohhh, mom will be jealous, lol
hi ya feather
and scrabs
hey all
stid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
how is this grid? Should I try it?
Hey Stid
you are planning another hiking trip scrabs... enjoy...
hey stid. I am washing clothers and getting ready
*does a backflip landing on point and tosses choclits* hiya stddy
:-)
i'm having fun so far
Three this summer, Carlee. First one was in Pennsylvania 3 wks ago.
got to 143 sans list, am now at 121 left with list
ohhhh, chocolate....
good for you scrabs
We are (mostly) ready for you, Bugs. The living/dining rooms are pretty cluttered this evening, but I am tired. I'll look through boxes tomorrow after I have some coffee. Things go quicker it seems after a little caffeine.
Enjoy your get-together, ladies.
Mother would like to go with us to Powell's on Friday. :-) And we'll see Mcurlschool on Wednesday. Otherwise, we are UNscheduled and fancy-free!
thanks Scrabs. Hope someday it'll be YOU coming to visit! We'd love to see you here.
Pleae don't tidy up all the clutter! Clutter is like digging for treasure.
have fun ladies!
sounds like a great time
*waves shyly at feather who does amazing things AND is mom to young children AND teaches*
:-) carlee -- miss you.
I am glad she can spare some time to visit too. I am looking forward to this, my summer holiday.
I will leave a fair bit for you, Bugs --it's a summer-long project! LOL
stid, i have a teacher-friend who is moving to washington state right now. she taught OT in our school for several years, and she and her husband have wanted a change. they love the outdoors.
ooooh. West side or East side? Hope it's the West side. Puts her closer to us. :-D
oh geesh stid, lol, i'm also freaking exhausted and nowhere near perfect!!!
not really sure to be honest! she's already got a position in a school there.
*puts out rating charts for everyone for feather*
I finally got to under 100 unfound, so I am ready for bed.
Good for her. I hope she'll be happy for the change.
hello RURU!!!!!
carlee -- what are you so busy writing by the lake????
pay attention everyone .. the closer you score heather to 100 the more perfect she is
hi stid
lmao!!!!
well done Scrabs! You're amazing. I have been so busy chatting I haven't managed ANY words. :-(
100 !
good job scrabs!
Let's see - so 96 is better than 208??? *confused mama look*
it's a tough grid scrabs
*wicked grin*
I vote 99.5 then. She was one of the first friendly faces to welcome me when I tried visiting here.
It is very tough for a large grid. I struggled to find 216. Nighty-night, kids.
night scrabs
awww, i do try! just don't ask my boys to rate me when i'm frustrated with them! btw, for those who haven't seen me in a while, daniel's turning 11 in a few weeks!
I can't score her that high.. she constantly sided with KJE in picking on me :D
LOL ruru! sweet dreams cousin
hehe, that IS true, ruru.
86.5 from me :D
hehe, i'll take it!
stid, ruru sold his house today.
I give feather a 99.9. When I was her age, I was mostly an invalid. She makes me look like a slug!
WOW ruru! Where are you going to live? I am unpacking some large cardboard boxes...
i'm renting right now.. I don't have to be in a hurry to buy something. >I can wait for the right house now.
ha, appearances can be deceiving, stid. i'm just easily distracted by fun things, and like to share a lot! meanwhile, my house is a disaster, and my patience often runs thin, especially during the school year. summers are for recharging!
maybe you can down size a bit ruru and save some money for a getaway place in the northwest. hint hint
I am loving having a summer where I can alternate between purposeful (figuring out how to teach better next year!) and completely naptime. It's really nice to have these weeks to focus on myself and my family.
Ruru, I hope the right house opens up here...
I am planning to downsize.. smaller is better for me now
ohhh, stid, hang on. as i was cleaning my room this year, i recently came across a book that i reread, and am planning on rereading yet again in the fall. i had forgotten, but it was a lot of what i built my teaching philosophy on. let me see if i can find the title...
smaller is good, ruru -- I am finally managing to throw out and give away things that we no longer need. It was too hard to eliminate things last year, but this year it's easier. I like having more space and less stuff. Except for crafting stuff. Never too much...
that's how I feel now.. I am throwing out and donating stuff almost every week.
:-) good for you ruru
it is totally amazing how much crap two human beings can accumulate over 20 years.
http://tinyurl.com/omkv2hd It doesn't only apply to "challenging children", it actually gives a great framework for how to set up your environment to allow them choice, control, and a positive framework for working with their behavior
it's also a VERY easy read!
found the 9!
Looks like a perfect fit for me. Thanks, feather. Will look it up!
I got completely sucked into the grid... halfway but still working on NBT
i bet you'll see things in it that you already do!
deciding where my stopping point will be
I hope so... I sometimes think I do a lot of things right but don't "know" that they are. Not sure if that makes sense.
0 .. :D
this book will definitely help. i hadn't read it for probably 10 years, and was amazed at how much what i do today comes from that one book.
nope, ruru! 107 left, thinking i'll do like scrabs at stop at 100
100 might be a good point for sure.
ok, 100 left!
done for the night
well done, feather! And thanks for the book suggestion. Have it on my want list on amazon now.
sweet dreams!
you're welcome! night all. i'll try to stop into the grid more often this summer, for sure.
night weeds
Help on the lone E in the row that is one up from the bottom row? My last blank tile.
es6/24 - noticed ..
thanks tor! thanks NBT. Now for NBS... how hot is it for you? We got up over 95 for the fifth or so day in a row... much hotter for longer than we normally get (ever) and much earlier than expected.
Not bad right now .. mid 70's to mid 80's .. nice bearable summer temps ..
that's lovely! I am hoping it will really cool down soon. I am having to water nearly every day, even for the more established plants.
We can water for 10 minutes, twice a week ..
I would have no veggies, and very few flowers if that were the case. :-( But with drought, I am curtailing un-necessary water use, for sure.
If I had a dog, she would be SO happy to have fewer baths! LOL
We got a decent rain last week, but they are too few and far between ..
Yes, you need a LOT more rain. We need it cooler. Most of our mountains are already snow-less. Anything left right now is only on glaciers, which are shrinking...
There's 100 for me.
It's starting to cool off. I am going to try to get Tom to walk in the garden with me...
Thanks for the help, tor. Have a lovely week, all. Stay cool! *poof*
Nitres ..
FW Whew!!
Yay, Une, me too! Just in time, whew is right!
congrats, JBsAnno!
