hey jmc!
Yes. Spent anither two hours at the zoo and then an hour walk along the beach. I worked off my dessert with a vengeance!
oh good.. it was a unusually clear day for this time of yeear
year
Playing on my smart phone so pleading forgiveness in advance for typos.
hy8
nice to meet you today
Did my type cone out unusually large????
I was happy to meet you too.
Hi une. . .
no.. looks normal here
Probably a cellphone quirk. . .brb
Back. . .I was thinking of posting the picture of me and kje and the future mr. Kje but not sure I have skills to make it small enough without a computer.
ah
don't ask me I'm phone challenged
Not sure I have the skills to play on the phone :(
it's not too hard
I gave up on the l's.. too hard for now
ruru - they will make you feel like a lu7 after a while.
It is the small print and scrolling back and forth. I may wait til I get home tomorrow night.
Haha ty dianne
ah.. have a safe trip home.. who won tonight jm?
Giants crushed us but we went down fighting. Ian Desmond hit a 477 ft homerun.
wow
that's hard to do in that park
He hit yhe coke bottle.
Une I was thinking about you during the tennis matches a few weeks ago.
Okay. I give up for now. Bye all.
night jm.. take care.. have a good day tomorrow

hi melon
hey ruru
wow there's a lot of phantoms here. And, poor speller that I am, I keep coming up with them.
yes.. ..I'm struggling with the L's
but struggling now no longer
well, taDah to you, then!
the grid is stubborn.
yeah it is, Angelsong.
68 words so far, need one more for nbt. Off to Lickety!
nbt, phew!
are the 8s and the 9 words I ought to know? No other hint—yet—please.
FWs
OK I got two 8s. Now for the 9 for nbs
al9/54
WTG DIZ!!!
tx grannie. I did get that much from lickety and I know sort of where it goes alphabetical-wise, and that it is all 1-point letters. Now for the monkeys to do their work. . .
Yay, diz! I forgot what FWs meant until I read grannyrose's congrats.
wow, got the 9 first try!! tks melon
yqw. I got it on about the 6th try!
no idea what it is - will look it up later
nbt, nbs. Need five to get halfway, my destiny of mediocrity!
ah but I did need your clue re all 1 pt letters
I do have mad an4-ytic skills.
I'm fading here. Have fun everyone. nite-nite. [poof]
sweet dreams melon.
Hi Rose
too tired tonight, going to get 3 more, then off to bed
hey dear flosey
how did the dental appointment go. was it too painful?
no Rose, not painful, O
we do have dentists on the island here but I chose to go to one in Victoria - which means ferry trip etc taking a fair bit of time
roflol, flosey. just read your email. still laughing.....
well you have to have someone you both like and trust when they are going to be poking around in your mouth.
off to jigidi. i hope you can sleep well dear flosey.xoxox
just emailed you Rose
guess everyone has finished! have 38 to go but will get them tomorrow
too tired tonight
good morning all
Hi and hugs, sprite
hi Liz :) *hugs* to you both. How was your day?
Did you or your hubby remember the name of the restaurant?
Sunday is a domestic day - cleaning, shopping etc, so OK but not special. And how was yynight?
I slept well, thanks :)
Any plans for too?
Today?
nothing much during the day, tonight we will be eating out with the kids and their friends. A late celebration of Tim's diploma.
That's a great thing to celebrate - no matter how late.
very true. My last dinner out before the op.
Time to splurge!
lol :)
Bet it's tempting, though.
Like Flosey, I'm stuck at 38 :(
I am gonna enjoy the food, but I won't go overboard. Just gonna enjoy being able to eat a normal portion for the last time.
ouch :( It doesn't seem an easy grid. Am running out of speed with 45 in already.
I'm sure it'll be a fun night for all of you.
It's not even helped taking a break.
that is always a bad sign
True. I'd like to finish tonight - whales tomorrow.
True. I'd like to finish tonight - whales tomorrow.
True. I'd like to finish tonight - whales tomorrow.
Chat not entering.
lol wellllll it kinda did... three times
All at once, not when I hit enter.
just teasing you!
Oooh! Found a word :)
I know!
yayyyy a whole word!
37 to go.
go go goooo Liz!
An 8 or 9 would be good! Lol.
Sprite - it was necessary for Liz to put the whales in three times: whales are very big.
Lol!
I don't even have a 7 yet. And only 3x6.
jwr, you are so right!
Ok - that's my entry for this evening. Back to work. Have a good grid.
You too.
ta
good luck with work, and see you :)
{{hugs}} and good morning sprite.
*hugs rose* Good evening dear friend. How was your day?
again not too bad. a little weepy again. i am so fed up with this ****** pain. (insert whatever adjective you like).
Hugs, Rose
{{hugs}} lizgirl
can't insert, might be minors about. *hugs* my darling. I know, pain is such a b... lady dog.
Hopefully relief after tomorrow.
oh yeah, tomorrow. i'll probably sleep the whole day.... lolll
catching up on sleep is very very good for you.
Just read a letter on FB - a joke of course, but someone sent a uni application in to Hogwarts. Got a great reply!
it will be interesting if i have the same effect.
I'll try to take a screen shot and send it to you.
good grief!! please tell me... oh you did just tell me it was a joke.
found it on the internet. Hilarious :D
very upset here. my purple mouse died. don has bought me a temporary one until the pink/purple ones arrive. it is ORANGE!!!
orange is the new purple
Copy of the letter winging it's way to you - except, Sprite, I see you just found it!
thanks anyway, Liz :)
i'd like to say yu4/9 several times but it might give you a word.
oh thanx liz
OK - back to the iPad - see you in a minute.
the biggies are very unfriendly today
it is the nastiest grid since for ages sprite
I believe it. It doesn't flow at all
Only have 2 x 8 - nothing else big.
Oh yeah, and 3 x 7 - pathetic!
I found one 8. And 2x7.
Liz, attach the rock ending to everything. It gets quite a workout in this grid. And plural.
I have a couple ending like that.
I have 6 combos with that ending so far
Hm! Not having much luck here.
Perhaps I should list?
let me see... al8/9, al7/8, cy7/8, du6/7, hy7/8, un5/6
and yes, this is a list grid for sure. I have listed with 24 left.
I have 3 of them - un, hy and cy
would you like clues?
Guessed the Al :)
good!
Al 8/9 that is. Wouldn't mind clues for the others pls.
al7/8 is similar. Loose the double cons and change the second vowel
Thanks, have that now.
the du6/7 is like the un.
So it is :)
am st5 missing one 7 now
Thanks for those.
yvw Liz :)
I'll probably use more words later on to finish off quickly tonight.
it is definitely an interesting grid
do you have an7/36?
Nope!
yeah, have that one
la7/28
that one too
Down to 30! Progress!
go Liz gooooo
nu7/40
omg... ok, my missing 7 was lu7.
see how this grid drives me mad, lol
Lol! That one I have got!
BBL. hugs to you both. Hope all goes well tomorrow, Rose.
bye Liz, have a lovely evening *hugs* to you both
fireflies. Chewy grid today. quite a few unwords. Rose, darling, a warm *hug* for you... let those tears flow... pain is a lady dog. I hope all goes well tomorrow and you will enjoy the after effects :D
WTG SPRITE!!!

she has prayed with me and is going to continue for the 12 hours of hospital time tomorrow. i hope you have a day which is good dearest sprite. xoxoxox
Good morning, everybody:)
du ct
dang spacebar... ;-)
hi everyone :)
((mrp))
(((crossy))) !
If you have not seen sprites post at 03:26, mrp, make sure you take a peek. it gives you most of the big grid words ending in ite and pl
ah thanks crossy
Good morning.
hi sukee :)
Looking good, got the W's right away :)
Hi MR
morning all- i know it is going to be a tough grid when i get all the words that start with vowels before the others lol
Hi Wolvie
off to fix breakfast- back in a bit
Howdy, Sukee, wolvie:)
Hi crossy.
even some of our best babblers commented on how much of a grind this one was:(
Great.
Be back in a flash.
The scale I end up with is this: The ones they finish with their first coffee of the day, are the ones I can finish after a few hours, The ones they say are easy, take me 3/4 of the day. The ones they say are not bad, but with a toughie or two are an all day grind for me, and the ones they say are tough i get about 25% done:))
oh crossy, I can relate :))
;)
So, with that in mind, 75 words or so on today's grid will be a total victory! :)
Had to clean the cat box.
am starting to get back into it... seeing the big words again
the big words all seem to end the same
first word I got today was the al9 so pleased with myself :)
ah cat box cleaning... should be a profession
Find myself doing it twice a day now :)
I dont know how my cat did it, but he managed to piss under the cat box!
little prick
So far these guys are good.
Just changed my picture with a newer one of the cats, they were watching baseball.
nice pic sukee... you have a grey puss just like mine
I just changed both boxes. When I got back to the places where they belong, there was a cat sitting and waiting in each location;(
Lol
two of the three are happily digging away as we speak
I'm glad I got a big box for these guys, I have no room for two boxes.
mine are standard sized boxes. I would say about 15 inches wide by 26 inches long sat a guess
at*
oh crossy it is so funny how cats do that... clean litter freaks
I have Blue Jays nicknames for the cats. Smoaky (Justin Smoak) and Muni (Kawasaki) :)
It's true, as soon as I clean the box one of them has to go in it. Even if they just went not long ago.
My boxes are much like this one, except the litter shields are not so high.. http://tinyurl.com/orjmdpf
They actually perch themselves like a bird on the edge of the shield;)
Mine looks a bit like that, without the shields. Maybe I should get them, they tend to throw it around a bit.
I had an open box for Jessie and a closed box for Lia (she preferred privacy)
The shields are handy to a point, but if kitty really wants to make the litter fly--they will.
w's whacked!
oh and it does fly!
W's and K's were easy today :)
You know you are in for it when the w's, k's and the vowel words are the easy ones;)
lol too right
Just need the top E to get nbt
et 5
et 4 sorry
Got it, ty
would be one I usually get :)
good morning all. help with the E and lone A on the bottom pls

sorry

60 left, see you later
see ya sukee :)
Now it is time for Crossy's tidbit of the day. This is a fond look-back to our days of vinyl collections nestled lovingly in milk crates and home stereo systems that were worth more than the cars we drove. I chose this one which was taken directly off an LP complete with scratch, pops, and hisses that a well loved album is sure to have. enjoy! http://tinyurl.com/qjnxcan
you oo, make my life a little bit brighter!
:))
thanks for that crossy! very catchy
I fondy recall these K-tel records. The tracks were cut super tight so they could fit 15-20 songs per side. The down side to this was you had to have a nice fresh stylus to track them properly of your tone-arm would forever be bounced out of the grooves.
We, of course, solved this problem by taping a stack of pennies to the top of the tone-arm head:)
My first album that I got was abba gold
lol! it is funny. When you speak of all this now, it sounds barely one step up from the discovery of fire:))
my first album... I have to think on that one...
ha ha ha!
what?? before videos, before microwaves, before mobile phones.... what did you do??
i think it was either a Stampeders one or one by Supertramp.
well we watched tv, went to the movies, heated our food on the stove and used a phonebooth
lol, MRP; i was a pinball wizard, a user of encyclopedias and typewriters. White-out was my friend, and my transistor radio with its single jumbo white ear-bud was my night-time sleep aid
a ear-bud! you lucky bastard!
yes, but they hurt like heck after a while
my dad was cool so he had headphones for the stereo
Used to stay up till the wee hours listening to wolf-man jack show from the U.S
we had sweet FA ... very few radio stations
I was lucky in my teens. i was given a short-wave set one christmas;)
Spend hours hunched over that thing, turning that giant tuning knob as if it were made of spun glass;)
ha! I can see that
heck of a machine. it was A/C, 12 volt emergency power or about 15 of those giant D-cell batteries
some dude called Cassy?? from the US would give us the top 40 of the week on a Sunday night
:)
Can't remember his name... Cassy Cassidy?? Cassey??
Dick Clark told us what to buy:)
kasey kasem
ah yes!!
Kasey Kasem!! Had a gorgeous voice!
I was all of 14 then :)
yes, and Kasey as well.
see! I remember something!
Now the kids load a million digital songs on a i-pod nano and off they go. We lost something along the way, i think.
my mother put the worst station possible on the radio... elevator music from D grade Bethoven wannabees
lol! my in-laws used to put on a talk-news station from the city. it was all my poor wife heard growing up. She used to sneak into her bedroom so she could tune in 1050 chum radio out of Toronto.
her station of choice was called 2CH and every 30 minutes they did the news... but it was all bullshit political news
:(
drove me mad! I learnt to hate Labour cause of that station
finished
Yaa for bubba!
on ya bubba
need any clues before I go??
yeah, how do I scrub my memory of crap radio in 1978 LOL
lots of vodka
And lot of albums from the 70's
au revoir, see you on the grid
In the 80,s I had my set set to the turntable non-stop and did not come out of hiding till 1990:)
there were, of course, some notable exceptions during that time, but they were like a rare atoll in a vast sea of synth-pop.
same crossy! loved all my 80's
One more i will share with you then, mrp, then i will let the music rest for a bit...
http://tinyurl.com/nldf5kw
lurking and enjoying the chat; some fond memories :)
hi kate :) indeed there are!
I intentionally chose something other than the studio track:)
I love the crackling sound of the track playing
lol, ok, that dr hook clip was a bit of silliness, so here is a clean studio cut.. http://tinyurl.com/nkk3n5s
omg they are so high!
haha! is so fun!
but we can't get our picture on the cover of the Rolling Stone !!!
keep them coming crossy! you need to post these to FB for everyone too!
:))
w's walloped ;)
I will try and avoid over-dubs when i post them:)
I noticed tenrec in the grid yesterday..here's to you FMitch :)

This is turning out to be a rather tough grid to solve.
it is trickier than it seemed at first, zoo

In that case I might take a trip down the chat log to see what I can scoop up!

Hi Hego
I mean hi Aloy. Geez, I am not with it today...yet.
LOL.. g'morning, Scrabbler.. Happy Sunday
am complimented to be called Hego
I'm grumpy so I'd be complimented to be called Nego
Scrabbs, you have inspired me to get back on the treadmill.. started slowly, just a mile yesterday. Temps of 85 and muggy will keep me indoors
Howdy nego!
Baby steps, Aloy. Hi Ruru
Sunday, Babble Sunday! Hiyas, kiddos!
hi Judi
*cues up U2*
this one is challenging for me
*waits for Aloy to hit the L's*
*counts aloy's hairs to start*
am there, ruru
did some at the flip before my eyes crossed.. five more to find
Hi Judi
My dog's name is in the grid.
Is it du5.18?
lu 7?
Crazy person, ru.
<---trying to guess dogs name
hope not ruru
Lu4 is my dog's name.
so if your dog has a Tick.. I had it right
ruru wins..
:D
Yep.
<---dog name savant
I was wondering why someone would name their dog luau
waves to Molly in the PB
So close, Molly.
well.. the dog always runs around with an apple in it's mouth molly.. that's why
I live in the PB
She also does a mean hula.
The idea of a dog doing the hula freaks me right out
the puka shell choker is a little over-kill though judi
*Cues up Don Ho
But she's so proud of her coconut shell bra.
The idea of a dog in a coconut bra freaks me out even more
*likes the little grass skirt
aloha
good morning ruby
hi ruby
Hiya, Ruby!
brb, monkeys need a banana or more.. down to 5
Cat biting my toes, dammit!
CUTE, JUDI
Sure, mock my pain.
Just her not-so-subtle way of saying, "pay attention to ME".
I hope they are just nipping your toes. Cat bites are highly infectious.
Just love bites, Scrabbler. No chomping.
I'd say that cat was Rex Ryan in a past life.. but Rex is still alive
Phew.
And Rex is here in Buffalo now.
Our vet got bitten by a cat while working and wound up hospitalized ass the infection was so terrible
lol. My husband, normally a Buffalo Bills fan, is disgusted that Rex is the new coach.
I hope buffalo puts their best Foot forward then Scrabs
*snort*
Time for more java. BRB.
Those long canine teeth deposit bacteria deep into the tissue. I have seen cat bites become cellulitis within 4 hours.
ugh
Buffalo is eager for winning football and hockey teams.
well...it should be a better team in buffalo this year
But it's pretty hard to get by the cheatriots in Mass.
I read somewhere that Tom Brady was depressed about the judgment from the NFL banning him for several games
Yeah, it sucks when you get caught
I think the paper quoted his wife as saying he was slightly deflated
Oh, alas, poor Gisele. She will have to rely on "other things" for her pleasure.
probably not a problem for her.. she's pretty beautiful
Haha
I like her name
Gisele Buttchomp.
weeeeeeeeeee
I'm in
lol. Please excuse my phoentic faux pas.
Haha
Well, I need to get outside and enjoy the beautiful day. Bye, kids.
See ya, Scrabbs!
hagd, Scrabbs!
I popped out to trim down some cone flowers. Those suckers are sharp when they get dried out!
also on my way out, but just for a walk on a new trail.. no weeding today.. ciao all, see you next time
I don't know what cone flowers are
bye aloy...
a/k/a Echinacea. Like an oversized daisy, only a much longer stem and a purple flower.
hello
Hi, MLF!
oh..
Hi Judi!
*learned something new*
Speaking of learning new things... I learned yesterday that Koalas have fingerprints!
First column L?
<---knew that
Shut. Up.
I did
lol. Just kidding. Useless factoid, but interesting to me.
well my first name is kanga
I watch the Washington Redskins beat the Cleveland Browns
watched
oops
*Imagines Judi is quiet the conversationalist at cocktail parties
A high school football team could beat the browns
If I ever get invited to a cocktail party, I am ready.
Get it? Get it? Kanga Ru. Har dee har
lol ruru they were actually pretty good today they lost but close game
*notes judi's cheat sheet wrist band of fun facts*
yes that was a knee slapper
I pay zero attention to pre-season.
my forty niners are going to suck big time this year
they looked terrible
I hadn't for many years but I have been watching the draft so I watch pre season to see if the hypes live up to it
Poor Cleveland. It's usually a sure bet that they will lose.
ruru yeah they are not looking good are they?
judi sad but true
Pre-season: another excuse for football players to behave badly.
Packers look good
um.. we have a corner on that market out here judi
judi no they have to behave that is the point
all they needed to do was sign Ray Rice and Greg hardy to make it a complete package
isn't hardy on the jets?
Cowboys
they like thugs too
ah that's right
I was hoping to see pot roast and the rookie who is supposed to cover rg3 but didn't see them much and because it was in the other field their names were not mentioned much
RG3 is a lost cause
looking pretty good so far in pre season
he's never going to get back to were he was as a rookie
ruru agreed
he knows it ALL already so who is going to be able to coach him. He is too immature to put in the work to be a great player
2nd column A?
a second column is bee related
he has gone downhill since his rookie season but played well today some nice passes l
Rather than an all star team, there should be an all douchebag team. All should be assigned accordingly.
that should have been WHERE he was as a rookie
judi they have that they are called the jets
lol mlf
don't understand bee related clue
ruru:)
LOL!
The Jets corners are going to be tough this season.
I love Revis as a player.. so talented
agreed ruru
can we expand on the bee clue please?
I also need the 4th column E?
Where bees are kept (like a nursery). Bee -like.
apiarist doesn't work
oh got it
You are on the right track.
nope
what are the stats?
A+ beginning of the 88 keyed instrument.
ohhh ty judi
nbt
bets judi had too look on google for the key count
:-)
to look..
that's where I thought I got the right word for the bee clue lol
Did not did not.
does the cy 8 extend from the cy 4/7 a red color?
all this time I thought you'd been stringing us along judi
Yes.
All part of my grand illusion.
Hey, you can fake anything on the internet : D
got them:)
clue for the 9 please for nbs?

sounds like thin fencing material but is latex related
5 left. All U's. Grrrr.
didn't understand, sorry ru
love your new profile doren
la7 sounds like fencing material for vines to climb up bichon
Lord knows, ruru is an expert on all things latex related.
oh I meant to change it ru. Might be offensive to some people~!
but thanks anyway
la7 ends in plural of what you do to a sprain with cold stuff
good clue, thanks molly
ty Molly, ru
I see ferns, Dorens.
Yeah, I'm trying to figure out what is offensive about ferns.
that's the old icon judi, from nine years ago. he's talking about the bio.
he's being funny
for a change
ouch
*note to self.. order cheaper wine next time* :D
oh no, no, no. I was trying to be funny myself. Not very good at it, obviously! You know I'm one of the original obnoxious ruru fan club members.
where was yesterday's lunch ru?
La Mar Cebicheria in SF
by the way, nu** St. Georges is in the grid today.
saw that
doren was in the grid yesterday
was it ceviche?
course you did!
mostly.. but they had other things too
Peruvian food
That's fireworks for me, suckers! Now it's time to go get my pedicure.
liked KJE's fiancé.. really nice guy
ceviche wouldn't really be your cup of tea. I love it though. Costa Rica with friends a few years ago and had it every single day... for comparison purposes. I could do that easily, but afraid to make it myself...
enjoy judi, and yay for you.
yeah.. raw fish isn't my thing
ah, but it is SO good when made right. And it isn't raw, cause the lime juice cooks it... turns it opaque white and everything.
no thanks
Growing up, the lady next door was from Ecuador and she made it for special occasions.
I like fire cooking
stats for the left t please? not listed yet
oceanic movement of water
relating to the water's ebb and flow, doren
thanks.. and speaking of fish....!!!

un 6/27 is get out of having sex
I can't type well
I already have that ruru the last un16 is may last word to find.
it's a plural meaning the same thing

I had another clue for the firs un6 but kept my yap shut

the un 5/16 I have means to not put something down
good morning/afternoon, everyone
good morning nan
I think "un16(the last one)" is what confused cluers
UN 5/16 x 2
is there more than one un 16?
yes
I can't get it from your clue robwhy
one of Queen Latifah's first hits is the first un5/16
I only have one un 16 so far. A chicken that does not produce eggs un----
add a sometimes vowel to your un 4 aeb
*considers audience - thinks that was probably a terrible clue*
But maybe google???
someone please clue the other un 16
missing the e and the bottom a
the un5/16 relates to my Islamic name
i did. see below.
I need the one inbetween the un24 and the un27

that was it rob why...thanx for bearing with me!
Wasn't that word clued several times? I'm so confused.

*smartypants*
People kept talking about un 16s, I had to go find one
that'd be a fun word to find in the grid someday
I've never seen a word longer than 14 letters. I wonder if it is statistically impossible for them to be longer.
Sorry, 13 letters
disestablishmentarianism
I would think that it is possible no?
I knew someone was going to throw that in DC :D
antidistestablishmentariianism
I met JMC out here yesterday DC
supercalifragilisticexpialidocious
nice, ru!
i'm sad that i'll miss her end of summer party this year.
she's exactly as I pictured her
she's a lot of fun.
one of a kind.. that's for sure
Well, I meant statistically impossible within the confines of a 25 tile grid
we'd need Steven Hawking to figure that out molly
up to 25 is possible then.
in several different combinations using each tile uniquely.
well, i must run now. i have plans this late afternoon/evening. see some of you later. :)
The likelihood of that happening is probably a zillion to 1
what are we discussing here?
How long a word could be in this size grid
Whoa, way too dense for me
na 5/12, pls
nm
but I do ne na 5/10
nm

Good Afternoon, Everyone. This isn't the friendliest grid is it? (I got so far, then got stuck
agree nef, i've been stuck at 39 left for a while4
I got to 53 so far; now just staring at the grid or entering non-words
hi nef...
Hi pen; How are you?
fine, thanks....how are you?
trying everything with a mineral ending helps... ;o)
DOing fine. AND (BIG news here!!) We went on vacation & DH did not get sick either before or during!!!!
very nice!
where did you go?
(he's been weak since, but who knows? It could be this awful hot humid weather that's causing that too
well vacations are very tiring, i think....
we were in the Black Hills for 3 days (grandsons still thinks best part of the trip was Mount Rushmore!!!) and 3 days in Missoula, MT visiting family. We were gone 10 days in all (took our time traveling)
sounds nice.....never been to either area....
You should try going sometime; just don't got when the Sturgess Motorcycle Rally is in the Black Hills full force (we were there 1 1/2 weeks before that; and the number of bikers was still unbelieveable
(there are not enough E's in this grid! Very annoying...)
maybe someday...
yep more e's would be nice and maybe an s...
or another s, i mean, in the middle
Have you been to many Nationa Parks around the country? I know that we haven't been to many out East; but we've done a good number of the ones in Mid-America & the Rocky Mountains when our kids were young
I used to want to "exchange" letters there'll, but no matter how hard I tried, that never happened
i have been to the Grand Canyon and the Redwoods in California, but that's all in the west...
and those were one day visits...
How about out East (closer to home?)
Acadia, White Mountains, Shenandoah (?), historical parks like battlefields....
that would be fun nef...'i'll trade a useless t for an e'
We went to the Grand Canyon, Arches, Bridges,Canyon lands, Capital Reef National Parks; but we missed Zion and ??? I can't remember which other one we missed even after Googling) because there was an outbreak of plague in the rodent population that year (& DH is immune-supressed)
That was just in Utah. We've been to toehrs out west too (but none in California).
i guess the White Mountains is a national forest, not a park...
Acadia is beautiful....been there a few times...
Out east we've been to ones around Washington DC, Gettysburg, & that area; the along the outer banks, etc. I've never been to Acadia, nor have I been to anywhere down south.
therea, whenever I did that, none of the words listed. (I shouldn't have planted that thought in your head, LOL!)
i know, now i'm seeing all kinds of words that don't exist lol
I think you mean Bryce Canyon - often paired with Zion
Thanks, Reader! That was it! :-)
I lived there one summer - incredible place
I can't imagine living there in the summer. It's HOT there!
And DRY!
Yes, that too. But while we were in Utah that time, there was a downpour of rain like I"ve never seen before. We had to stop driving because it was raining so hard we couldn't even see the hood of our car! Then, just like that, it stopped! (weird weather!)
Yes. I was there during a really bad fire summer. We would have rejoiced for that kind of rain. The company I worked for issued 1 liter water bottles on in processing. You were expected to drink a minimum of 3 a day.
hello, help with the au6 plz?
I think it has to do with sound
au + face of a clock (or use the phone)
.. au + what you used to do with a phone
(I was on the phone at the time I typed that It should have been face of a watch)
ahh alternate spelling, ty
nef i clued it similarly earlier (what we used to do to the phone) and i realized i was really showing my age, lol
hey dawg, I did make it to Missoula, but wasn't sure of we'd be going or not so didn't try for a meet up.
well, some days our age Does show here in our clues... but I'm positive that we are all in our 20's or 30's here, right?
<cough, cough> ;-)

Don't you just hate it when you're so hungry you don't know what will help that feeling
yes. too easy to grab snacks
yeah, I finally fixed some baked potatoes for us for supper; & that really helped fill both of us up. (I'd been snacking on raw veggies, tomatoes, & apples all afternoon but was still hungry
gtg, see you later
Bye, HAGN! (I'm down to 7 left)
you as well
Fireworks!!!
Anyone need any clues?

yw (watching Ken Burns' Civil War on PBS; I'll be here a little while longer if anyone needs clues)
If you get the chance, Nef, check out the Ken Burns national park series. It is well worth checking out:)
It ismore lyrical than cold facts and figures, but you get a real sense of what it took to make the parks a reality.
Well, 90 wrds in and I finally got nbs, but I concefe victory to the grid this time. Have a good night, all.
Thanks, crossy; I'll try to do that. We just got back from a trip to the Black Hills, and Montana (where we saw relatives. We went to the Badlands National Park, Devils Tower, Mount Rushmore, and Wind cave
Good night, crossy (sorry I was slow answering you back
