its been a good summer of concerts for me, I must admit - neil young, peter franmpton and cheap trick on a double bill, and now acdc. the best part was, the three concerts were at three different venues, so I really feel like I have "done" the boston concert scene this summer

Oh, I know, crossy, I know. I have a fairly new computer, and the backside ports are for the peripherals, and the two frontside ports are for my phone and portable drive. I laugh at the frivolous USB gadgets, but don't use them :)
right now, forexample, I have a usb keyboard mouse combo running and a dedicated wi-fi stick because this old machine does not have internal wi-fi. So, I believe i can sagely add one or two more "toys" to it all without any negative side effects

we don't have crates for them, ruru, they are seldom in the car and are generally well-behaved - one of them has a mild skin infection and was chewing on herself - that's what had him distracted

actually, no, the damage isn't all that bad, all surface stuff. Hood, front bumper, right front side panel, headlight. That adds up to $4500, and the car is worth about $5300. So it's tempting; I know this car, and it's actually in pretty good shape.

Insurance is fine with me taking the money and fixing the car. They'd give me about $3800 (subtracting my deductible and the $500 they figure they can get for salvage). So it would be about $700 out of pocket for me, and it could be less if we get used parts and don't care much about matching paint colors.
I need to talk to the body shop and see how realistic the $4500 estimate is. If they haven't yet looked for other damage it may not be worth it, but if they have, getting a car worth $5300 for $700 is tempting.

The insurance thing is a mess, ruru...need a neurology workup. They think it's because my back surgery failed. I was just getting better, able to move around without the walker and do things around the house and BAM it hit me again....no lead up so you can prepare, just hits full force overnight.
When I went to the hospital the last time they worked me up, down and sideways. I now know everything that ISN'T wrong with me.

I had two surgeries in 2000 and now they have failed. They think the leg problem is tied to that and I don't know what it's going to take to fix it and if there is metal moving around in back...thus the back pain and leg problem. I'm SO tired of this.
I now just want two things in life: the inheritance money and peace. Not even wishing for happiness, just peace.
