Nothing much for kids to do in this town, and they're sitting on the closed school building, using part of it for offices. I keep hoping they might open the gym for a few hours now and then during the week, and maybe let me move the library there. But they're all so stingy about everything, they're all related or old buddies... hard to get anywhere if you're a "newbie" like me - a mere 25 years here, lol
well, not move the library to the gym, but into the newer ground level addition. would be perfect for a library.

I'm also tired of the local cop picking on my hubby when he rides his mower to the bar two blocks away - he can't walk, can't drive, is disabled, and he still harrasses him all the time. personally I think golf carts would be great.

rbud, here in Oz we have courtesy buses who can pick up and drop off people who want to go to a bar or whatever - no drinking and driving. Maybe enquire at hubby's bar if they have a similar service
also has a perfectly good old Cushman (an old motorcycle type scooter, sort of - like an old ice cream thingie?) but they don't want him to ride that, either. It's technically supposed to be tagged for the street. All two blocks of it, sigh.

I'd take him and bring him back, but he doesn't want to give up his bit of independence. He parks right by the door, and uses his cane to get to a seat inside, and only stays an hour or two. Soon he'll need the chair to get inside, I fear.

no i'm not river. i am usually trying to lie down. infusion of ketamine, magnesium and lignocaine to help control the pain from the fibromyalgia.
Carlee and I have no set plans yet. Crossy will let us know when and if he is free.

what happened to sprite?
it is river. and we have worked out that the bursitis in both hips is triggering new attacks of the FM. i am having cortisone shots into both hips soon.
river, she had elective surgery. and she is very happy to have made that decision. she is recovering well.
I found those shots did not help me, that is why I had my hip replacement this past January. Best thing I ever did. Pain GONE!

I am sitting on a couch which I have had since 1988. It has been chewed by so many bunnies over the years. When I get the new flooring done in here in the next few months I am getting a new couch.

example - the woman we bought this house from used to be a nurse in boston. When she retired, she was given a bench from the old waiting room as a gift. When she moved out of this house she left it here, as she said it "should stay with the house."
As it turns out, it's in the way here, and we don't like it much, but I feel plagued with guilt at the very idea of getting rid of it. She didn't want it, so what is my problem?
After the snow and ice crashed into my house through the front windows in March I decided that I need to finally spend money to update the house. Insurance money is helping--good-bye old carpet with shards of glass, hello laminate flooring. Bathrooms are almost done being updated. LR will get painted to brighten up the room.
I plan on making one attempt to get in touch with her daughter, to say the bench is available. if she doesn't want it either - see ya!
I have decluttered a lot this year but have a long way to go. MY parents taught me to be a saver.
