hi, all. Just added a couple of new pages to the blog. One for coupon resources, and one for essential oils and herbal healing. working on natural and home remedies now. And just got my copy of Windows 10. I like it a lot.
without knowing it, I have been preparing for this blog for the last three years or so.
da
angel--did you have windows 8 before?
Angelsong, if you are still around, add a V to the link to your blog in your profile. The word "loving" needs one.

ah, barn swallows, fully la4n :)
Hi Seain. I haven't seen you here in a long time. Nice to see you back.
i've been around more, but not always chatting.
and hello to you, Scrabbler, very nice to see you here, too :)
I have to work today from 0830-12 as part of my on call weekend.
And it sounds like you need to sleep, Seain.
So I must get going to the office now. Sleep well and enjoy your day, Seain.
good morning
Howdy, Flosey :)
hi Crossy, was wondering if anyone was around
I have been in and out most of the morning. I just chat a bit less these days:)
ah, me too
do you happen to have a clue for mi6/27?
not yet, but i shall help you look for it :)
mi6/27 has the sometimes vowel in the middle
monkeys aren't finding it
thanks Molly
Not the best clue, but I couldn't think of another way to do it
It's a Hebrew word I did not know
got it, thanks
mi6/27 is a gathering of 10 Jewish men to conduct a religious service
interesting, thanks Annie
hi flosey and yw
*Adds mi6 to my Irish Shiksa vocabulary
lol
I always wanted to build a Sukkot hut when I was little : D
Shiksa? meaning? somewhere in the back of my mind seems somewhat negative?
No, not negative. Just a non-Jewish woman
My Jewish friends use it affectionately
ah, thanks Molly
Thanks for the mi 6! Didn't even think of trying it :(
Hi Liz
Hi Flosey and everyone
Hi Liz
Hi Annie
Goodnight from me. But hope you all have a good day.
sweet dreams, Liz
clue please for 3rd column lone a just not finding it ty
ay4
is there more than one ay4?
Oh sorry, that is not it
i think the ay 4 is from the other a....
It's an7
I think it must be an7/28
oooo ty
Ends with the first four of a stun gun
ty nice clue
ah, just monkeyed sl8
TY Flos - that gave me the p8 as well
a Sukkot hut is called a Sukkah. Lots of fun to eat out there
I learned most of what I know about the Jewish religion from a series of kids books called "All Of A Kind Family"
hints for the pi and si pls
Mr. Bich, for a goy, knows way to much about Judiasism. He corrects me
um....there is no pi or si.....do you mean pl or sl?
yes, sorry pen
don't have the sl yet....no pl either....someone misspoke...
I once worked for three Jewish women who said I knew more about their religion than they did : D
they have the most ending - one is burnt by the Irish & the other is a rock
Someone mentioned a p8 not a pl8
ah....so it is p plus mystery letter....;o)
ah...pe 8...
pe 8 is a joke. Hou can you have a comparative off that
sl 8, pls
they used to make blackboards of sl5
ty lynn
lynx am I supposed to be able to extend that?
yes - it has 'the most' ending
took me long enough to figure it out lol ty lynx
third column lone A?
an 7....as someone (Molly?) said, it ends with the first four letters of the stun gun....
nvm I have to go eat now be back
pe8 and sl8 sound like bad grammar to me.
yes, my nuns are rolling over in their graves again...
Poor nuns, so much rolling
like the word 'funner'
yes....they rolled twice this week when local newsperson said "off of"....twice in one week!
I can just imagine the big red circle on my paper if I handed something in that had "That is the pe8 bog I've ever seen", the Irish girl said...on it.
yes!
Of course, if you look at the way most kids write these days, grammar has become a thing of the past. Sad.
and penmanship too!!
yes, it's sad....i am tempted to carry a red pen....so many printed things are grammatically incorrect...
They don't even teach penmanship anymore
presume computers changed that - essays, etc, now being typed
easier reading for the teacher
Most people don't use handwriting anymore. They don't write letters, they don't write checks, heck even most invitations are sent via email. It's unfortunate.
my brother doesn't own a computer!! but writes the most beautiful letters - real treasures
Hand written letters are indeed treasures. I have a box of love letters my parents wrote to each other when my Dad was stationed overseas. Such a great family memento.
Happy "Talk Like a Pirate Day" mateys
Arrgh!
Free rum at the PB bar. Straight up, like a pirate, not those fruity mixed rum drinks.

Aye Matey!!
'oh no I have to go to the PB
well , there's free rum.
poodletoes! hi
exactly!
And for you doughnut lovers, if you go into a Krispy Kreme and talk like a pirate today, they will give you a free doughnut. If you go in dressed like a pirate, they will give you a free dozen.
my dog is wearing her pirate bandana. Would that be good enough?
Hm, now where did I leave my sword?
*wishing there was a Krispy Kreme within a few hundred miles of here*...
Blah! are you the blah from wordsplay?
yep. hi!
We don't have them either.
i play at wordsplay....do you use the same name there, poodle?
hi blah...
hi pen!
I do. what is your name there
penquis.... ;o)
penquis, are you usually on the 5s board?
sometimes i forget which names are where!
yes, the 5 x 5...
i do that one once in a while. 4s mostly
used to play at Gander Games.....liked the 6 x 6 and, to a lesser extent, the 7 x 7....
those boards had higher minimum letter requirements...
Hiyas, Kiddos!
Hi Judi
Whoof. Rough week for me. My job at the Police Dept. was abruptly eliminated. I was transferred to another building within the city to do I don't even know what yet. Depression and fear crashing in on me.
bummer!...
Bear up Judi. It will work out.
mybe you will end up liking the new job more
third column bottom a?
Try to have a good weekend and start all over on Monday.
Huh. Wish it was that easy. I've filed all the grievances I can think of. The City Administrator has alreayd shit-canned my Step 1s. Step 2 hearing with one of the (sympathetic and union supporting) Council members takes place this coming Thursday. I can only pray that he overrules the CA.
an 7....ends with the first four letters of stun gun (Molly's clue)...
happened to me (way back) Judi - I was sent to another office as a loaner - they asked me to stay, I did and stayed until I married and moved across the country
Well, crap. I'm already mattered or I might have used that strategy, Flosey!
Judi, I am sorry to hear about your job woes. There is nothing worse than starting a day with a job and ending it without one, or with one far different than the one you ha. I wish you luck.
thank you

The City ADministrator is, in our Union's opinion, trampling all over the contract. I am just in shock. He is a miserable bastard to deal with. I think I need a miracle here.
does the se9 go with se 6or 7?
Ooo, if you find the right line to stand in for miracles, let me know. I could use a few.
Off to breakfast. Later, kids.
sorry, mlf....don't have the se 9 yet....
yes mlf
se6;7;8;8;9
the 9 does??....hmmm....
9 is the plural of the 8
apparently their is more then one se7 though
It's unfortunate that so many people, who have worked long and hard at their jobs, are now being told that their job is "no longer necessary". It's a brutal assault on the ego.

help with either ad8 pls
hi all
which one peri?
Most employers are only interested in what will make them the most money. There is very little concern given to the hard work from or job satisfaction of, the employees
found one of the ad8. ad8/50
for the other ad8...add quiz to the ad5/14
very true Molly. My last full time position was eliminated. I collected unemployment and then retired at 65 altho I would have worked til age 70 if could
I think that is the one I have pen
The British term for this is very harsh. I have heard people say "I have been made redundant". How can you not take that personally?
I mean, one day you are working hard and feeling like what you do matters, and the next day you are "redundant". Ugh.
no peri...add it to the ad5 that means the best at what you do
there's nothing like a happy cat purring in your arm
that is the one I have
sorry...add comparative to ad5...to be ablle to change
peri - extend the ad5 meaning adjust to something
Unless you are the one purring.
I am trying kje.
it means the ability to ad5/14

Good clue Mixi
i have a te4 today - i am a little nervous
what are you studying?
i have to take a bunch of prereq tests before i can start a masters program in elementary ed. this one is public speaking. i don't actually mind public speaking but for the test you have to record (i don't even know if it is just audio, or video) which i feel like is kind of worse than with actual people
ah....well try to picture someone you can talk to....
i guess.
Toastmasters
are there any sn words?
ooh i just found 2
yes
Hurshy, I didn't know that you were a teacher.
I loved my public speaking courses. I took two
i'm not, yet
i just started since we moved by being a teacher aide
hated speech class, joined Toastmasters 20 years later and finally learned to a) do it well b) enjoy it.
Generally, if you communicate well on a person to person basis, you can flip that into good public speaking.
i was a high school debater....hated it....but it was a great learning experience....
yeah, i really have no prob with actual public speaking, it's the recording, with 10 mins to prep on a topic you don't know in advance, that makes me a little nervous
Wow, only ten minutes? That would unnerve me too.
i would brainstorm ideas, jot them down, and then outline them....it's what i had to do in debate rebuttal....
Pen, debate is a whole different animal. You not only have to be ready to present your side, but to rebut the other one.
yes, that's true.....but the process of prep can be the same...
And your suggestion to Hursh is very good, but hard to do in ten minutes.
we had 8 or 10 minutes to prepare the rebuttal....
also you have to be sure you have 3-5 mins of material. over or under that time is automatic failure.
time yourself reading a paragraph and that will give you an idea about how much content you need...
thanks, i think i will do that
Good luck, Hursh. Sounds like a challenge.
well i have to go....the newsletter awaits....bbl to finish...
good luck, Hurshy!
anyone have the bottom A?
an7
may i have a clue?
Ends with the first 4 of a stun gun
thank you
ah peri you said you were missing 4 of the 8s but i have only got 2 so you are doing well :)

We played a movie trivia game at a party last weekend and there were people who had never heard of that movie.
were they very young or very old?
wow
that's a classic
On the young side, but not young enough to have never heard of it. I mean even if it was before your time, like Ru said, it's a classic.
one hasn't lived until they see Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Castro Theatre
shows every month at midnight at the clay, ru - full on madness
Oh dear, I haven't lived. *Sniff*
*pats molly on the back*
people have every line of the script memorized and shout out
I like the Clay theater
There are some movies I really like, and have seen many times, but when you know the entire script from a movie, it borders on strangeness.
princess bride...
where's this new Italian restaurant you went to KJ/
extreme tenderloin
oh
ewwww
we weent again last night prior to show at the orpheum
Hursh, Ru still has Princess Bride confused with Princess Diaries. Sad.
ah.. the phantom?
you are dating yourself, ru... the tenderloin is in renewal and a hot place
yep
silly old ru
I can't stand Anne Hathaway
:D
you are lucky then, she isn't in the princess bride
I drive through the Tenderloin at night sometimes KJ..it still looks rough and dangerous
country boy
nah.. I just can't do heroin and get back home
this conversation has taken a strange turn...
you just have to tolerate the smell of pot and urine...
and losers and homeless people and mental cases and drug addicts and religious nut-cases
and pit bulls.. sure.. nice neighborhood
strange turn?
See Hursh, Ru keeps mentioning Anne Hathaway in reference to The Princess Bride. He has no clue what a good movie he has missed.
Andre The Giant would never have been in a movie with Anne Hathaway.
I know a lot about princesses.. trust me .. I don't need a movie too
No, this movie is not about that kind of princess. It's a modern day fairy tale. Good stuff and very funny. It also involves pirates.
murdered by pirates is good
ruru IS the grandson, lol
No, that's wrong, it's not modern day. But it is not about the kind of princesses you are thinking of.
Oh he is, Hursh. He was cute (like Fred Savage) when he was younger.
Not that he isn't cute now, but I've only seen a six year old picture of him.
I don't feel cute
nobody FEELS cute. little kittens feel FEROCIOUS.
People who feel cute after age 55 have usually stopped looking in the mirror.
haha
amen sister
yeah cuteness is weird that way. my niece and nephew are cute but kids usually say "i'm NOT CUTE!" when you tell them they are. like they think it means you don't take them seriously if they are cute.
So sad. When you really are cute, you don't want to be cute. When you are too old to be cute, you would love to be cute again.
<--used to be cute
Well Ruby, you still have cute shoes. That counts.
the shoes are ferocious!
stumped by the grid two days in a row. I'm stuck

clue for st5/16 please?
I don't have that sorry
st5/16 sounds like what a rock with green icky stuff is like when you take it out of the water. Change up the second to the last consonant.
It is a variant spelling of a word that means to hinder or prevent
ah thx molly
not getting that st 5/16..
ST + two tiny words that are different parts of speech from me
Vowel end then not your but...(if it belongs to me)
hi all
hi TO
got .. thanks molly and matty
got it.. that one was well hidden
i have a general question about cooking. has anyone tried making pizza crust with cauliflower? and if so, what did you think?
cauliflower and flour?
never heard of it
There are some things that do not go together. Pizza and cauliflower are two of them.
differene recipes. one used it with parmesan and egg to bind.
Anyone have the stats for the lone A in the bottom row?
cauliflower is the new kale. cauliflower steaks are a trendy preparation.
to be honest TO.. sounds like it'd be difficult to make
I can't imagine cauliflower binding
the technique is to make it rice like then work it into a crust
i have not eaten this veg except in a blend. it seems as if it would be tasteless.
it has a mild sulfur-y aspect to its smell
when baked
Pizza is essentially junk food. Cauliflower is healthy food. I'm not sure I see the point in mixing the two. I like cauliflower as a vegetable, but I would never incorporate it into pizza. The new kale? I guess that is what I miss not following the trends of the food fanatics.
it is kind of tasteless TO.. It's ok in soups and stuff.
so the answer to my inquiry is that no one has tried this. I have a Fb friend who loves the stuff, i will ask her.
yep.. never tried it.
but ty for the editorials.
just trying to help
at 6, pls
a recent report rate kale as one of the poorest greens in nutrients - spinach finished #1 - heck, bell peppers even had a higher rating than kale...
TO...I tried it. Didn't come out so great. Did the same with zucchini, which came out much better.
Oh sorry, I didn't know opinions on the question were not welcome.
Kale has a lot of Potassium Boj doesn't it?
Yes Bojazz, but people will believe anything they read on the internet about food. : D
ty champ. i think zucchini is flavorless. but i have used slices as a crust of sorts for an italian meat pie.
i am not cooking any vegetable that requires a massage! :)
Zucchini, like tofu, takes on the flavor of what it is cooked in
TO I think seain has done that
Kale has potassium content. However you have to relate the amount of kale you need to meet the potassium value and usually you would have to eat a TON of kale to get the potassium value you get from other greens like spinach and swiss chard.
stats for the lone A please?
good point molly. I like Chard a lot better than kale. I cook it all the time
jane, where is it
that's the an 7 I think harp
does chard taste like spinach?
at 6, pls
I think it tastes better than spinach.. to be honest
sort of TO
less grassy
that was it, thanks
I sauté it with some olive oil shallots, garlic, and balsamic vinegar and salt and pepper. Delish
but like it? i hate cooked spinach. in anything.
I like raw spinach. but I don't like it cooked either
except in Spanikopita
found a sea mammal
(sp?)
then that's loaded with cheese
at 6, pls
I do like chard. it's really tasty
to get or receive bichon
trying to broaden my vegetable horizons. i do like them much more than when i was a kid.
ty ru
it's harder on the east coast.. lots of veggies are tired by the time they get there.. at least in Long Island it was that way when I was there for a while
Broadening your diet with vegetables is a healthy idea. I'm not sure adding them to pizza is the way to go, though.
may try the cauliflower steaks. but if you have to put a lt of stuff like pine nut and golden raisins, not worth the effort
True, ru, when I go to the Bay Area, I can get better produce anywhere I go
Did you ever go to the Monteray Market in Berkeley?
lots of emphasis on local and organix now. and frozen is the way to go for out of season, though seasonal eating is best, the winter would be full of root vegetables and starch.
On the Right Coast, we only have "in season" vegetables for a few months. The rest of the time, they are "tired" like you said.
sure.. they are pretty good. They are better farmer's markets though
nbt nbs bbl
*new players are scratching their heads on harp's comment*
oh i hate this. 3/4 of the way through this cooking show and THEN they disclose that hard boiled egg is integral to the recipe. yuck
Ru, where on Long Island were you?
New players seldom get the "nbt nbs bbl" comments.
at least i got a fab easy recipe for apple pear honey tart. can't wait to make that and a plum kuchen.
I was in Syosset for 4 months
hnn, i thinkk i will make a plum tart instead
I'm originally from Baldwin (south shore, Nassau county)
my ex grew up in North Belmore
Ah. I personally do not miss Long Island. Except for the pizza
And bagels
And bialis
oh.. the Bialis are great
did you ever try them at bagel brothers?
they're to die for
I could eat them every day Carbs or not
I grew up on the South Shore of Long Island, Queens County
I think that may have been after my time - I left to go to Oregon in 1985, and then left Oregon for Germany in 1987 and Germany for the UK in 1988 - I've been here (apart from visits) ever since

Animals napping at my feet. Or their just waiting for me to drop some coconut chips.
You have to feed those things.
Trust me, they eat better than the humans.
I believe it.
My husband and I don't eat tuna fish... but the dog and cats like it, so I have to buy it. They write it down on my shopping list and everything. Clever little wankers.
hi hego and judi :)
Hiya, Kate!
lol smart
Hi Kate.
Judi, I hope everything works out for you job wise. Sorry you got the shaft.
Judi has great vibes. She will be fine.
Thanks, Molls. Things are still playing out. I haven't lost complete hope yet. And, I did buy lottery tickets. So, there's always the possibility that I win big and will be able to wave some F*ckyou money under their noses when I quit.

< sploosh > cannon-balled right in there.. now you're all a little damp ;)
Oh, waving that f^ck you money is such a nice visualization.
tyvm Hego....never heard of or used this word!
drying off
lol... if only I could remember grid words like I remember useleess trivia...

I'm still trying to figure out what "nacl" is.
white stuff you sprinkle on food
sa** and pepper...
na cl
sodium chloride
yup!
Ah. Sorry. Never did get around to memorizing the periodic table.
used a lot in nursing
lol judi... you have many other talents... no need to clutter your brain with silliness...
*wonders what the chemical matrix of tequila is*
No idea
some kind of ethanol
I don't really care. Just wondering.
lol, who cares?
Good point.
Where's Ruru today?
It's okay Judi. We are not all hip to the periodic table. There are other ways to clue that word.
He was here earlier, I think.
can I have a clue for pa6 the la4 one?
I did find the SA28, so nyah.
C2H5OH that's the ethyl alcohol component.. the part that makes it tequilla is probably a closely held corporate secret...
I think agave is the part that makes it tequila. Like, duh!
pa6...you get a ___ check on Friday + Jack be ___ble
ty Moll
Hiya, Dan!
Is there some reason we need to know the chemical make up of tequila? Isn't it enough to just drink and enjoy?
that's firewords! tx Molly & all cluers
hi Judi
Dan is the man!
margaritas all around!
Kte is an inquiring mind.
congratulations dan!
WTG!! Dan!
hiya TK
*dumps out Evian and refills hot tub with ice and margaritas* *runs to get extra long straws*
It be talk like a pirate day danny boy, did ye bring the grog to celebrate?
It is talk like a pirate day, so rum is the free drink at the PB bar.

<---Doesn
I'll switch to mojitos, then.
<Doesn't drink out of a hot tub full of germy people
I came in at the right time
Hi Annie!

Hi, Annie!
Hi Judi :)
Hi Annie :)

What does the 9 start with?
se
Ty.
se 7/32 before the group of 7 please?
last word mi6,27. where isit??
Gives calming drug to.
ty judi, but there is another one further down the list...
that's the last 7 Kate
mi6/27 has the sometimes vowel in the middle
before the 7's, that is.
is there an extra word in lickety?
It's a Hebrew word
ty Molly
no
No extra word in Lickety's list
the word must begin with this month's abbreviation...last 3 must be 1 point tiles, but stymied...
add pt for eat
Abbreviation for month before October + consumed food
got it...
ty molly
<---Needs to remember that when people ask for clues, they usually find the word one second later
isn't that always the way? lol...
Sorry. I'm a bit lost. Were any of those Se clues for the 9?
The 9 is plural for what is given to people to calm them down
Ah. Thanks.
howdy folks, am ready for the list.. look forward to finding that bottom A
Bottom A...an7...ends in first 4 of stun gun
thanks Molly.. anaphase won't work, looking..
No, that would be first 5
A real stun gun, not one from Star Trek.
the first se5/12....clue please
And anaphase is not in the grid
lol, ok Judi
A stun gun is a taser
well, that certainly helped, lol.. ty Molly
my phaser is set on stun ;)
Seemed like the best way to continue cluing it, all things considered
the first se5/12, clue please
it was a good clue molly, no worries...
was thinking WEApon
aeb, It's a car
monkeys said no.. hi Annie
Hi Aloy :)
ty...I thoght I already tried that
yw, aeb

A taser is a weapon. It's used by police officers.
I too am supposed to be out gardening... high winds and rain here too...
What is in your garden, Kate? I thought you lived in an apartment.
Yes, in an apartment, but it is a house, so have the yard... and am helping an ailing woman clean up her garden/yard/garage/house,,, big job!

Garlic done roasting. Now house needs fumigating.

Why fumigating? The smell of garlic is wonderful.
no vampires at Judi's
lol
lol aloy!
sa 7/32 can't really be a word can it??? (the nacl one)
There are a lot of "not really words" in this one
lol, the perpetual whine of babblers the world over....

Oh, sorry to whine

Peri! Big news. I got a bottle of nail varnish today which, when painted onto nails, makes them look like little mini-mirrors! Very cool.
wow that is neat, Soodle.
what is the brand name, Soodle?
help with first ta6/18
It's Rimmel.... Refledtive.
we have Rimmel here.
This nail varnish is a bit distracting... I can see my own reflection in my nails....Not good at all with my current facial disfigurement!
:(
20 left, bbl
bye...
well, i went through the list and whittled it down to 2... i am happy...
Sounds like a good nail polish for those who love the sight of their own face. : D
i am done.... :oD
when desperate, try the absurd... ;o)
hello 182 to go
hi...
Hi harp, pen, peri, soodle and all... I'm just getting started.
hi...i liked this grid...
so far so good. Today is my 60th birthday, and my beloved asked what I wanted to do this afternoon. I told him, 'play babble'. He laughed, because he knows me so well.
Happy Birthday ch1212 - how lovely you have a 'beloved' to share it with
lol ch, that sounds like something that would happen in my home!
Thanks, lynxxx. We've been best friends for over 25 years; married for 11. I am truly blessed.
Oh... A very happy birthday to you, Ch.
happy b'day, ch...heading out....dinner calls...
enjoy! thanks all for the bday wishes.
lots of beloveds around these parts
happy 60th ch12.. you youngster :D
Thanks, ruru. Nice to know I'm still young in some circles ;)
we're in the same circle.
:D
!!!! You got me. Good one.
Yes, lots of beloveds and DH's.
I always think Designated Hitter when people write that
I think dick head
Seriously, that is what I thought DH stood for before someone told me otherwise.
woopsie
I don't know any women who refer to their husbands as Dear Husband or Beloved
Woopsie? Oh, I'll go stand in the corner now.
hello freinds
well.. whatever happy to just "honey"
hi trif
(sets up glass of beer and some magazines for Molly in the corner)
no dinner out CH1212?
Happy Birthday, ch1212
peri always shows up for cake
not true, ruru. I am not crazy about birthday cake. for my birthday I requested a fruit tart.
that's funny peri... I just requested a tart
happy birthday ch212
Hello all
hello sukee
Hi ruru.
How are you.
today? pretty good.
are you recovering from your pain from the shingles?
That is good.
I got a vaccine when I turned 60 for shingles and whooping cough
Well, the rash is going away but the pa 4/5 is still there. I'm still taking pain killers three times a day.
ouch..
I had planned to get the vaccine when I was 60 :) It got me before I could.
it's like a nerve pain isn't it?
I told the nurse when she gave me the whooping cough shot that this doesn't preclude me from having whoopy does it ? She didn't laugh.
Yes it is. And one part of the rash was on my spine and part on the large muscle in my shoulder and that is causing a lot of pa4/5
I'm sorry to hear that.
I assume it will eventually stop.
Had a restless night last night.
I think it takes a month or so doesn't it? I am not sure
Well, I have enough pain killers for a month.
Other than Advil, will have to get more of that.
yes.. it should settle down then.. the sooner the better
Amen, because it hurts to lie down at times.
I can relate.. I bruised or broke a rib in a fall and I can only sleep on my back
mmmm - apparently I need to wait until I am 70 to get the 'free' vaccine for shingles here. O bviously you are young enough to cope with the p4 b4 then
Ours is not covered either.
Sorry to hear that ruru
It costs about $160
and considering they say i in 2 older people will get it - seems kinda crazy
I think I had to pay for mine too lynxx
I'm not big on needles either
I will put up with a shot if it means I never get this again :)
not knowing how old you are sukee.. usually it is done on your 60th
I am 58.
ah.. well.. then probably in a couple of years.
Although I asked my doctor and they said the jury is out on whether the shot can help after you have had it once.
they must be hoping a lot of 60 yo's hop the twig b4 they are 70 here...cuts down on cost
lol, hop the twig :)
not an expression over there?
no
hey lyn
You Aussies have your own language :)
hop the twig aka drop off the perch
hi Owl
I understood it but found it funny :)
glad to put a smile on yr face
yes, that is a new one for me
sukee needed to branch out
ugh. had dinner but still hungry. whats up with that?
did you make the cauliflower pizza TO?
...and we're off... Go Ru
:D.. sorry lynn.. I went out on a limb on that joke
the cauli flower pizza is happening down here too
wow.. I never heard of it until TO mentioned it this morning
Depressing, my team was winning until the 8th inning.
no. i cannot get over the yuck factor of cauliflower. i leftover pork cutlet milanese with salad and spaghetti
I love cauliflower.
I had some with dinner.
I saw it in a local newspapare last week and someone mentioned it yesterday - in a cook book? - apparently it is delicious
that's what I thought TO.. it didn't really sound appealing to me either
i watched valerie bertinelli rice the cauliflower and mix it with Parmesan, egg, salt and pepper and bake. then add toppings and bake again/
lynn, are they also touting cauliflower steaks?
brb, must start more food before i start eating dessert stuff.
saw Jamie O grill pieces and then put in a curry - looked delish. Cauli is pretty bland so guess you can use it for a lot of things
i am wondering about the texture.
of crust
i tried the microwave corn meme too but could not get it to pop out of the husk. tasted great though.
I did a dish where you cook fillet of beef with cauli and balsamic vinegar etc (all on one tray) - was fantastic
(salivating thinking about it!)
balsamic makes everything better. just roasting chicken with it is fab.
Absolutely ADORE cauliflower. The texture depends on how it's cooked. If you boil it, the texture will be more soft. But if you roast it and drizzle with oil or butter first and add spice, is more firm and has texture. Valerie did what I do...I cut it into "steaks" and prepare with whatever additional flavors I want it to have and roast in the oven until browned on both sides...yum. I also make a cauliflower casserole with chicken, onions potatoes and cheese that is yummy.
I like mashing it instead of potatoes some times.
I don't cook it that often
i was at a loss how to cook chicken thighs for the meals for elderly, then tried balsamic. yum
hi mimi
I'm off for now, take care all.
I'll tell my husband about that Mimi - sure beats the hell out of boiling it and smothering with cheese sauce
bye sukee.. get better
Yes, sukee, that's lovely. Also, speaking of balsamic, putting it on the cauliflower and roasting is great.
((ruru))
bye Sukee
Thanks
and it doesn't have to be highly ages, the vinegar cooks out and leaves the sweet taste.
oh sukee, hope you are on the mend soon.
Thought I'd pop in for a moment. Preparing to go to the hospital for neurological tests tomorrow. Guess they'll finally determine if I actually have a brain. If not, I'll have to take up the occupation of a scarecrow.
good luck, mimi
that's a good start mimi.. at least they can start on what's the matter
They'd better figure it out. I haven't been able to stand/walk for over a week AGAIN. Tired of this...want my life back. Hey, they've tested for everything except whatever is wrong so at least we've narrowed it down. I'm going to one of the best hospitals for neurology..people come there from all over the world. It's the same place that treated Brett Michaels.
Thanks, TO
*buys colorful bandanas for Mimi*
Ruru, your home is in the grid.
Hope they find whatever it is quickly Mimi
yep.. and Une's Boyfriend
Thanks, lynxx
why is it that we have three hours of news every weekday, but on saturday, the news can go to hell, it's all football all the time?
'cause boys love footy? and women indulge them?
Gonna go get some rest. Am thankful my daughter and friends are there for me since I cannot do anything for myself atm. Must find something to be grateful for. Bye all and I'll let you know what happens. Hugs.
