good morning all
{{hugs}} and good morning my dear one
hello dear friend *hugs* How did your day go?
my day has been quiet. church this morning. how was your visit with the new baby?
aw she was adorable. A very content, easygoing baby. And she loved the toy, gave it quite a workout right away :)
well done you. it's lovely when you see that something you have made is appreciated. even if it is in dribble.
*giggles* I make all my baby presents dribble-proof and easy to wash.
good for you.
what did they call her?
Hayden.
pretty. does it suit her?
yeah I think so. And they are lovely parents.
did you have a lovely sermon in church?
yes. it was a young woman, newly ordained as a deaconess.
ah exciting. Glad she handled herself well.
*giggle* poor kid. we sing an intro to the gospel, and she forgot how it went. so we sang the first two lines, and she readily picked it up. *stage fright *
yeah exactly. quite a brave thing to do, getting in front of a parish the first time.
glad you guys pulled her through, grin. If the audience is helpful, it isn't half as scary anymore
fi
ooohhhh, close spritey.
lolol
*grin*
is the pain level doable? Recovered from your overtaxing at le5? And how is Don?
homicile - where a killer lives
pain is quite prominent. next cortisone shot tomorrow. infusion the day after. i am taking it minute by minute. it's the only way
very good sprite. put it in
ugh, not easy. Indeed, minute by minute, and keep breathing. Wish it were tomorrow already. Think of how you will feel post infusion and shot though!
yeah, wednesday is gonna better GREAT!!!
absolutely. And girl, you better make sure you don't overdo stuff!
*sigh* be GREAT!!!!
lol. I understood, don't worry. I can read rosese
nice, that. what a good friend you are. lollll
:D the best kind. The kind where you don't need any enemies anymore!
roflol
how are you coping with food now, honey?
okayish. Warm food is still a challenge, most days. I can eat crackers and toast pretty easily, if I eat slowly. Fruit is no problem. Yoghurt mostly ok too.
i am sure you will get there, sweetie. it seems the slower you go, the faster you move forward.
yeah it is a bit frustrating, because the first few days I could eat everything. But it is ok, I will find out how and when in due time
the are a spate of scam phone calls here. supposedly by our government tax office. problem, the guy can hardly speak english, he tells us we have a lawsuit against us, and that the police are on their way to arrest os. what a dreeb!!!
lolollllll how pathetic
well finally, the 11
wow!!! well done sprite
pfff am almost done. Ah well, what el4 is new, I am notoriously biggie-blind
not tonight you're not.
actually, I am, lol. Finding them last of everything and only with the help of a2z
well last isn't so bad. at least you have an idea which tile they come from
too true. My saving grace, grin
fireflies
WTG SPRITE!!!!
*hugs* my dear friend. Have a very good night, and good luck tomorrow. I hope to see you in babble :)
xoxox my darling. hope you have a great day.
Good morning.
hi sukee, hi all
89 left and nothing bigger than a 7
found an sh9
I too have nothing bigger than a 7
the sh9 builds on the sh5 a sandbar
per early chat sh5,8,9,6. I just have the 5 and 9
OK, found that 8 :) Thanks
Oh, found the 8 that builds from that - not the 9....hmmm
Now found the 9
The eight is the same as the nine minus a letter
minus which letter, can't figure it out
Now have all three 8s, one 9 and no clue about the 11 (not listed yet)
I have no 8's
Minus a vowel....it has the same last three letters
ty matty
You can build a few 8s from the ending of the 9...
the 9 & 11 starts with stretchy stuff
ty lynn, I am looking
Lynxx, are they E words?
yes - just the start of the stretchy stuff actually
co8: most like black chunks of carbon
just passing thru - sorry if already clued
ty Une, I tried coiliest but it did not work
yw :-)
need help with 2nd sh8 pls
No TY - was my last 8
Why, oh why, when you said that Peri, did I feel the need to try the word that you said doesn't work?!
Most like loose stones on a beach
most like a sandbar
the other sh8 start with a type of roch
matty, i do the same thing LOL
rocK
tyty have all the 8's now
not seeing the el9/11 tho
omg I found the 11 -
one ends like the cust**** is always right
then put most of frozen water on the end
Thanks lynx!
tyty lyn
help with the v word pls
vo + french sea
see you all later
merci, Une
later lynxxx :-)
yw :-)
help with E in left column pls
IF this, do this. EL4, do that
sheesh, ty matty
hots
Who do you have the hots for Peri? : D
before I logged in to todays grid I thought it looked kinda small
hello?
v clue please?
hi fan, dont have it
ty annie
vo+ the more the ***rier
thanks annie:)
nbt
youre welcome
Good day kids.
Hi Scrabbs
hi scrab
I have not gotten anything higher then a 6
does anyone have ho7?
Not me, but I will search.
ho7----the most devout
I didn't see the superlative ending yet. TY, Annie.
youre welcome, Scrabbbs
ty annie
youre welcome, fan
It works without the T as well
yes, have that one too and hello
I found that one first
found oi7
thanks, fan
yw annie
Well, once you find that ending you can go on a roll
I don't want a clue but are either of the sh8 words anything I might know?
no list yet
Uf your name is butch sh8 makes a lot of sense
morning, ruru
If
Hi annie
not understanding your clue ruru?
It is cryptic mlf
so I noticed:)
In alabama sh6 comes with muscles. Sh8 builds on that
Sweet Home
Exactly
clue for the v?
Ru, be proud of me. I looked up a grid word and learned a wine making term. : D
The V is like cartoon Mr. Simpson only with a V
have never watched the simpsons...my bad
how many letters?
think iliad....
VO 5/18
lol, if I haven't seen the simpsons, do you think I've read the iliad??
but do you know who wrote it??
Gee, sorry. I thought The Simpsons was popular enough to at least know who the characters are.
clued at 8:09
oh hello. yes I know who wrote it Thanks
ok....think a four bagger in baseball....
I read the iliad all the time when I am watching the Simpsons
i had to take Cultural Heritage in college.....we started with the Greeks...
that may explain my limited worldview...
Everything starts with the greeks.ðŸ˜
I can't remember the words to Sweet Home either.
you can always look it up.... ;o)
More of where lynrd skynrd lived
The Simpsons is about to begin it's 27th year on TV. I thought Ho6 had become kind of a well known pop culture figure.
i have never watched an episode....only a minute or two here and there...
Me neither. Cartoons are for kids
I could think only of Bart. There is a Bart, right?
Lots of people didn't watch Star Trek. But they knew of Mr. Spock and Captain Kirk.
Cartoons are for kids...what an old fart thing to say. Ru, seriously, if you watch no other episode, you should watch the South Park Facebook episode. It's the best satire of Facebook I've seen.
molly 27th year? I thought they had their last aired new episode at least two or three years ago?
And if you go back and watch Looney Tunes, a lot of the humor was geared to adults.
i read the iliad and a long time ago i watched the Simpson's
No, like I said, The Simpsons is about to start it's 27th season. It's been on longer than Gunsmoke was.
CO8 clue please?
Another MOST ending word
Not that I agree that it's really a word.
i don't think it is a word
If Pen is still here, co8 is another red circle on the paper turned in word. "That is the co8 mine I've ever seen," said the man from West Virginia.
it has a definition
here!....and agreed!
Well, the definition given here is for co5 not co8
Old fart?
No i stand corrected molly i read theOdyssey and loved it. I read the list of characters in the iliad and said NOPE too confusing for me
still need the a 9 and the 11 for nbs
the 9 uses the most ending....builds on another sh word...
Sad day for all the women who read chick novels. Jackie Collins passed.
i never read any of her books but i always liked her
And damn, how did Joan Collins get to be 82???
pen sh?
its el 9/11?
sh 5....sh + some heat with **** (also a word in the grid that we have talked about just a minute or two ago).....
should have been c***.....
got it ty pen
yw...
shoat
oops...
sorry pen
can someone clue the 11 please?
e + not first + most of Mr. Simpson + most of frozen water
thank you molly
nbt and nbs
Oh good, I was hoping the clue would work
ty molly...
ty molly
mu7? - first one?
mu7 ends with untruths
TY FW.
well done Mixi
hello everyone
good morning car
48 to go and have to pick the daughter & bf up from the Vesuvius ferry (north end of Island)
Vesuvius! How exotic!
congrats, mixi...
sounds that way car, tiny village at north end of this tiny island approx. 7 miles by 15 miles +/-
Good morning folks
re 6/21, pls
to jump back in horror!....that's an example of use of the word...
Good morning, all. Another wasted Q. Oh, the injustice!
or a snake does this again....
ty, pen
hi judi....

TY for re6. I had co4 and should have seen re6 and 7.
Stats please for the E in the first column?

hi car, Scrabs
*getting ready to toss a cod at Car*
Hi
sa 5/19, pls
ty Scrabs
<fish>
I struggled with it too, Car,and almost asked for a clue, then saw it and slapped meself.
hi all. any clues for the 11?
matt smith
is that a clue hurshy? i dont know who that is.
HI Hurshy and mkg
75 left and I need a break.
no, not a real clue, just me reveling in doctor who
i just got here and do not have the 11 letter word
Hurshy - I just saw an article on the internet that the guy currently playing Dr. Who has quit the series.
ok.
i think you may be confused - Jenna Coleman, the current companion, has left. it is the nature of the show, people do not stay long.
sa 5/10, pls
Ah. That could be.
i have one that is a plural, bichon
ty hurshy
so anyone have the 11 yet?
mkg, see Molly's clue at 9.14
What does the 11 start with?
el 11/104
Hmmm.
elas
Sorry. Dammit.
Yes Judi, it starts that way : D
You're on the right track, Judi :)
ok question: is it all of mr. simpsons name or part? is it all of the opp of first or not?
Well, bully! Now attempting to monkey the rest of it.
i got it. whew. dont use the first letter of mr. simpsons name!
Yay, mkg :)
Opposite of first means the whole word. MOST of Mr Simpson means MOST of his name, not ALL
I found it too.
I guess the "most of frozen water" part was understood
stats for the V pls
vo5/18
ty
yw
left middle I stats pls
more frozen
I'm sorry - didn't see the stats part
ic5/12
ic5/12
np...ty kje and Biltong
yw :)
anyone have the v word? would love a clue and stats
rhymes with Mr. Simpson (of doh! fame - not OJ)
missing the lower corner i and the second row e...any clues?
nm on the i
Harry, you better get that second row E or el4
doh!
nbt and halfway...and nbs except for the 11 :)
And thank you Harry for knowing who the cartoon Mr Simpson is
Also known as Bart and Lisa's father.
was this a discussion earlier?
what about poor baby maggie?
This is serious shit, Harry. Try to keep up!
It never occurred to me that even people who had never watched the show would not know "cartoon Mr Simpson" in a clue, but I was wrong
Judi I'm so behind the times, I still think the simpsons is part of the tracy ullman show
Oh dear. Harry needs a sitcom intervention.
OK - why is folic not acceptable?
The Simpsons were drawn weirdly when they were on The Tracy Ullman show.
grrr
remember the good old days on fox...herman's head...parker lewis can't lose..
yeah - they had some huge overbites!
matt groening unleashed
They were drawn crudely. I think third graders were doing the animation.
Harry, I agree about folic. But you know Enable, only focuses on weird mammals and foreign currency.
Enable is folically challenged.
Clue for As6, please?
I burn more wood, so my fireplace is as6 than yours
Ty.
That's fireworks for me! Amen!
Deliciously refreshing breeze today. Think I'll go out there and suck some of it up into my snout.
It's gorgeous here too. I took this opportunity to spruce up the patio a bit. Almost time to call it quits with the tomato and cucumber plants, but not yet.
clue for the el9 pls
From the rubber tree or synthetic rubber extend for the el 11
mu 7/40, first one, pls
hi crossy, phae, Molly, Judi
bichon: sounds like little slippers
also sounds like little donkeys
sorry turq, don't understand
sounds like little donkeys, but not spelled like them; there's an odd-looking consonant in there
are you talking about the first mu 7 or the second?
the first; that's what you asked for
yest, but I don't understand.
mu + consonant plus untruths
thx matty; i was reaching for that
ty matty and turq, that consonant was what was throwing me off
Is there an mu7 (I've not listed) between that word and more squishy?
do you have the second mu 7?
I love the necklace in your profile pic, Turq!
I don't know, Bich, I haven't listed. I have the MU7 that we were just clued and more squishy
2nd mu 7: more like polenta
ty turq and matty
thx matty; yw bichon
Yep, I had both. Have gone to the list now. I guess I should have asked whether there were more than 2 MU7s :)
the mu 6/24, pls
First three letters of non purebred dog, followed by chemical ending
ty matty
fw! anyone want stats or clues before i go?
OL5?
spanish cheer + frozen water - e
Never mind - got it!
go hursh
I got confused because I had misplaced a word in the list (I'm on a mac) and so had too many words completed in the list compared to the game
No fast enough Hursh. Lately, you have to clue in under 30 seconds. : D
as long as i get it to show up before the "nevermind" i'm ok
I am missing the Ha5 an 6 after the golden circle my other half has on his head as he has been dry and smokefree since 1 September (I'm going to take a chainsaw to that ha4 before too long)
hawaiian word for white people?
Thank God for that Spanish cheer
why isn't folic a word? folic acid?
I have absolutely no idea what the Hawaiian word for white people is
ha + spanish cheer
use the spanish cheer again matty :)
However, Google does
Thanks
Interesting. That word is in grids fairly often and is usually clued the way Hursh clued it.
ah, i love people who are sensible enough to google
Yeah - I need to learn to pay more attention :) Also, generally I didn't used to Babble every day - I do at the moment but that is because of circumstance
hope to see y'all tomorrow *poof*
miss2bit is now old enough to qualify for drop-off birthday parties. Life just got sweeter :-).
congrats dan
could i have clues for: V word, any 8's, 9's, and 11
V - think Bart Simpson's dad but with a V
It's a good stage, 2Bit, until they are all getting dropped off at your house.
vo5/18 rhymes with a big baseball hit
ty
May I please have a steer on the TU6?
tuston
sorry
yeah but I'll take the hit once
tu6 your sit-upon
uncle jesse's mom on full house always said he had a cute tu6, it was weird and gross
Ah hah! Thankee!
Could have sworn that had a C in it but there you go
any long ones clue would be so lovely :) 8's 9's or 11
For the 9 and the 11 start with EL - word for what keeps your underwear on (strechy rubber)
You can get 8s and 9s by going to the SH - the most beachy and the most loose rocky
ah thank you
No worries. One left
And fireworks fo rme
for me
congrats matty!
morning folks
Hi Jes :) Anyone else here?
just me
hi Jes, Kate, dan
hi jes, slogging away...
hi kate and bich
guess we've been quiet, lol
i am in and out... hubby keeps distracting me
hi blah
Hi Bichon, Blah, and Lurkerz :)
jes... hubby should know that babble time is inviolate ;)
nah... babble time is scattered through the day. making it inviolate would mean he can never talk to me.
lol...
so what's so bad about that )))))
well, i actually am kind of fond of my hubby
I am too. Sometimes Mr/ Bich will come in and add a few words
ha 5/14, pls
what a ghost does?
hi all, wandering in and out.
ty rbud
hmmm... is Bichon fond of Jes' hubyy or her own? Inquiring minds want to know... ROFL...glad you both have babble-enabling husbands :D
Hi rbud :)
mine's gone now for the afternoon - free chow at the bar a couple blocks away, whee!
so I didn't even have to cook lunch. :D
if he fills his pockets - there's dinner taken care of ;)
good idea! Hmmm....
I get annoyed when he puts in easy words I have missed
it's easy to miss the little ones when you are in the hunt for the "whales" bichon,,,
ho 5/14, pls
big baseball hit, bichon
ty dan
hosnort
damn it
Hmm, I've never thought of Babble as a team sport
wrong hit
su 5/14, pls
raw fish
japanese delicacy
ty ru
bait that hipsters eat
will likely never touch the stuff, had a really bad experience with fishy food poisoning once upon a time... can't imagine wanting to eat any that's uncooked, ever... :P
guess I'm not hip, lol
*sides with Rbud*
I wouldn't touch raw fish
I couldn't bring myself to even try it...
kje is the su5 princesse.. her nickname is salmonella
it's a bad day to be a 49er's fan
quality sushi is amazing, but buying in a supermarket or off a conveyor belt can be risky
Yeah, they are getting their hats handed to them Ru
then again, wasabi can make most anything good :-)
it's pretty ugly
ah, football - it is to that I owe the lack of having to cook lunch, they have a spread on football Sundays. Quite sure Hubs had no idea who was playing, though, he's like that. "I'm just here for the food" - lol
Who has a spread?
I'm looking at a 4-12 team this year.. ugh
the Pope has already rendered DC basically inaccessible, and he doesn't even get here until Tuesday
So, no work for the Feds until the Pope leaves? I don't see how they can get to work if DC is inaccessible.
telecommuting for those who can
the bar downtown has food on football Sundays all season, a better excuse than usual for Hubs to go there, lol
(in answer to Molly, earlier)
mu7 the first one?
rhymes with "bummies" - tu word...
I think that's the second mu7?
fungus.. not "shrooms, but mu*****
dan there is a pl and a comparative...
both are mu 7/40
first one is like, unclue-able, lol - like the stubbornest of horselike critters with an extra consonant after the "mu" and no T on the end
mu + consonant + untruths (clue I saw this morning)
got it thanks all
better! thanks, Annie, was trying to think how to go that route, but confusion came sooner, lol
dan my bad on that clue...didn't look at the word properly.. not enough tea to focus eyes yet, mea culpa.. :(
firewords! no problem TK thanks for the efforts
congratulations dan!
any hints for the as 6/21 please?
just realised there was a second path for as....d'oh!
finished... last word, a four letter fishie... what el4 could hide so easily?
woo hoo TK!
congrats!
ty :) I'd offer up some clues.. but you all saw what happened with dan's clue...
i still have nothing from the bottommost E
3 em4
thanks

hm. does that re6 mean to get one's co4 bin refilled?
oh, it does. Huh.
hello looking for clues for el9 and co8? Thanks.
hi seain and enomis :)
Hi TH!
TK!
Co 8/45 - more llike the lumps of black carbom you put on your open fire.
el 9 starts like another name for a rubber band...ends with most of Bart SDimpson's dad's name
:)

soodles came back too! hello :)
Hi everybody ((((kate)))

OOPS ... phaeton seems to have gone off line.
is there anyone out there? !!!!!
well I will bid whoever is out there a good night/day ... see you soon ... bye ....
bye mo?
quiet day in the chog...
thanks (much belatedly) for the el, mo :)
Why is merde accepted but merci is not? Just curious
because the french swear more often than say thanks ? more common usage
Maybe so :)
Shh we are not allowed to question the authority of the babble overlords
Could I have a clue for the first column e please?
el 4/4
Thanks cos
Should have seen that
no prob! :)
anyone know what the mu7.40 means - I have it, just curious about the meaning (no def)
more lovey dovey?
wow
I dont know Im just guessing :P
perhaps you'd better not sidle up to anyone and say it then - you might get a slap accross the face
the first 4 letters refer to a soft cornmeal dish, kind of an American version of polenta, ( but not as good). So more like that would mean soft and mu--y.
And the mu 7 would be even more so
looks like everyone came back :)
Hi lyn, cos, tabby, and jes :)
OK - and after I searched around I found an american grass called mu7 - perhaps the grain from that makes the dish tabby talks about
hi Kate
hi lyn, I was just searching too... nothing in Oxford dictionary.. even for a root word...
If you google the first four letters you'll find it. The dish is made from cornmeal
Cornmeal is a grain made from corn, not grass. Not sure that the grass definition has anything to do with the cornmeal dish. It's a strange word with no real definition.
Actually it seems the roots of the mu** bullrush is combined with cornmeal to make the dish
at any rate, it doesn't sound too appetizing...
hi all
morning Owl
The dish I'm talking about is just cornmeal cooked with salt and water. Polenta is the same except with butter and sometimes parmesan added.
hiya lynn
ah, i keep seeing the swiss cough drop brand instead of grid words
that is why i invented name that proper noun
to get it out of one's system
be my guest.
Reeeeeecola!!!!
can you yodel and or play the alpenhorn :P
bye all
bye lyn, have a lovely night.

Hello harpjane! How are you doing? Welcome to the chog

stats for the 11 please?
Do you have porch light? el 11/104 which extends the el9
harpjane, there's a story in my profile if you need it later
lol I never remember that we have a porch light.
It might help, but it also might attract unwanted insects.
We are having a fabulous Montana Sunday porch night.
We had a beautiful weekend here in NY. Finally getting a little bit cooler. We've had temps in the low 90s in Sept.
nbt, nbs, time to go inside with 162 to go
