I am sorry Ruby, but it is for the best. With his declining health and other issues, it was either that or get a live-in nurse. You cannot do it all, Ruby tuesday.
I organized a lot of help, but the nights were still awful with him agitated, not sleeping and falling. I had to call the firemen 3 times in two weeks to lift him off the floor
Now you can breathe for a bit, get yourself healthy, then you can take care of others once you are in fighting trim once again.

That's good! People here think I sound as American as the day I stepped off the plane (in 1988). People in the States remark on how I've picked up an accent ;)
My brother spent 5 years in Costa rica and at 6 foot tall he towered over 90% of the locals and even on his last day at the office was referred to as " The big white man from away"
What surprises me is how sweet the locals are about my accent. I always thought they'd find it annoying.

you know I take courses at the university in the Italian department - they recently had a visiting professor come for a month from the Sorbonne - Paris Sorbonne IV - she was great - she's Italian but works in Paris, perfectly quadrilingual in Italian/English/French/Sardinian
It's embarrassing. I speak very rusty German but so many English speakers speak only English. Go to many places in Europe and the number of folk who are not only bi lingual but multi lingual puts us to shame

I seriously don't get the TV over the mantle thing. Not only does it ruin the entire look of a fireplace and a mantle, but like you said, who wants to sit with their neck craning UP looking at the TV?
