Hi all
{{hugs}} and hi lizgirl
HI and hugs Rose - how are you?
not too bad. how are you feeling??
Had my best day today but am sore now - have guests staying and we went all around today - lots of walking.
Still dosing myself though :(
*sigh and rolls eyes* for goodness sake liz. will you please pull back a bit? your body obviously has not yet healed fully.
I know but it's difficult when you're showing people around.
we went and saw Neil Diamond live in concert last night.
They're actually very easy guests, which is great - the niece and partner of a good friend of mine.
Was he wonderful?
oh absolutely. he still has IT. his voice was a good as 40 years ago. and he is still composing and writing songs.
So happy for you. Must've been a great evening.
wow factor 15 out of 10...loll
LOL
Did he perform lots of his oldies?
i've only been waiting 43 years. now i can cross it off my bucket list.
But how great to be able to cross off something like that.
yes he did. he performed for 2 hours non-stop too.
Bet you were exhausted today!
sent
even don enjoyed it and that's saying something.
oops!
Not my taste particularly but still very happy for you.
you must have a favourite performer you want to see.
I saw the Stones and the Who many years ago. Leonard Cohen too.
I'd've loved to have seen the Beatles
Queen too - missed them.
did you not see them at all?
I guess I'd like to see Adele or Lily Allen.
Not live - not Beatles or Queen.
I didn't go to that many concerts. I missed out on seeing Supertramp because of jet lag.
i hope your dream comes true, my dear. it's such a buzz.
Perhaps - but I tend to live for today rather than have dreams for the future!
Thats probably not entirely true though.
But I live such a dream life here - it's hard to think about what I'd really love to do.
Oooh! I passed half way without noticing.
well done liz
For some reason I'm just not finding this grid easy - too tired perhaps.
probably liz, that and the pain-killers on board.
Oh well - I'll plod on for a while then come back later or tomorrow.
What else have you been up to - I feel very out of contact with you and sprite because I've not really been around at the same times as you.
not a lot liz. trying to not aggravate the nerve.
and there goes the timer for dinner. xoxox liz and be kind to yourself.
Is the tens machine helping? What's the pain doc saying?
Bon appetite and hugs to you both.
yes the TENS is great. i really notice when i am due to use it.
good morning all
ks konkuerred
yayayay spritey. well done. {{hugs}} and good morning my dear friend
hey sweetie :) *hugs* How are you feeling?
not too bad despite all i have done. just a mo'. putting the TENS on
ok
and back. how are you doing?
I am ok. Bit tired. But today all I really have to do is a load of laundry and walk Terra. So I will rest a lot.
good for you. did you see liz has overdone it today? apparently she has been showing her visitors around and has walked too much.
aw poor Liz :(
oh and empty the dishwasher. Let's not forget that.
uh huh. boyo still not doing his chores?
yeah he is. He apologised and is doing better. For now. sigh.
phantom: licorice
and colic....lolll. something licorice can cause....
I hope ruby's care package will arrive soon. Wish I could send you one :( But all and any food is forbidden, your way.
yeah that's a bummer. i would love some of your baking. *giggle*
Good morning, everybody :)
*giggles* the cake and muffins were a tremendous success.
hiya crossy! *hugs* for you and the lovely Elegant.
((sprite))
sire
oops
morning crossy
Howdy, ((rose))
is there really no way around it, rose? When I watch that program about the custom department of aus, I see that some food can be taken into the country. But through mail they seem to have a zero tolerance rule.
you can call me sprite, crossy, I don't stand on decorum among friends
Good morning. Rose may I please ask your advice on something that I know you are an expert on? I have an appointment on 09Nov with the hospital consultant regarding replacement surgery on my knee. Both need doing but they will only do one at a time. I suffer from white coat syndrome and to say that I am terrified is to put it mildly. Your help and advice would be very much appreciated. I do hope that you don’t mind me asking.
not that i know of sprite.
"i did call you sprite at 05:27 :)
oh I get it.. the sire... I am still on my first cuppa--go slow ;)
lol yes, crossy, and then you called me sire a few seconds later.
*hugs Frances*
no problems frances. would you like to email and tell me exactly what you need to know?
Babble is a wealth of knowledge :)
Yes, thank you Rose.
ain't that the truth
Hugs back sprite.
between everybody here, we have all the medical bases covered :)
all bases in general, even. Some babblers are politically knowledgeable, others medically, again others literary, and so on and so forth
yup :)
*belatedly checks if 'forth' is in the grid... pfui it isn't*
and some of us are fortunate enough to have direct lines to those in know. ;-)
:)
hehehe true :D
Good morning.
g'day sukee
hiya sukee :)
how are you today, sukee?
Hi Rose and Sprite.
hello, all :-)
btw i had the most incredible time last night. went to my first Neil Diamond live concert.
hiya Une! *hug* How's life for you?
Not too bad, going for the second day of a stress test so can't eat. Still have a bit of shingles pain.
Name that Proper Noun - Czech poet
The worst thing is, I haven't been able to drink coffee for 2 days.
am so jealous, rose!
hey une!! xoxox
not fun, sukee. Glad that the shingles are abating, but not nice you still are in pain. What is the stress test for?
no coffee? aacckk! LOL
so sorry the shingles are lingering :-(
Still to do with my doctor checking my heart.
egad sukee. i wouldn't be able to move with no coffee
I hope your heart is as healthy as it is loving, sukee :)
I don't think I have a problem with it, I think it's more my doctor being over cautious.
ditto, sukee
how many coffees do you have in a day sukee? how many instant? how many fresh?
I think it is very good if a doctor is over cautious. Especially when it comes to the heart.
I usually have about 2 or 3 large coffees a day, fresh. I may have a cup of instant at night. I also drink a lot of tea.
hmmm, and your doctor hasn't said anything about the caffeine in tea??
I have no idea, godthaab. Kundera, seifert, capek... that is about all I know
I have to admit I was getting a twinge of pain where my shngles are that hasn't been hurting without coffee.
Yes Rose, I was told to have no caffeine at all, that also includes chocolate.
Howdy, Sukee. Sorry, I drifted off there for a bit.
Hi Crossy
How was the concert, rose? I love Neil Diamond:)
frustrating, sukee :(
Only side effect is a headache.
the caffeine habit is impossible to break and I only drink tea
NO CHOCOLATE!!!???!!!! STAND THAT DOC UP AGAINST THE WALL. *gets off soapbox*
One thing I have learned over the decades is to NEVER get between a woman and her chocolate...
if quitting caffeine gives you a headache, you are either using too much or you are very sensitive to it. Sounds like moderation is called for in future, sukee
crossy, he was wonderful. he hasn't lost any of the power in his voice, and still had excellent control over his voice. he performed for 2 hours, non-stop.
Yeah, I probably do have to cut down on my coffee.
sad but true, sukee. *hug*
he sang lots of Hot August Night songs and a few from his new album. he is still writing songs and composing.
I think with a talent like his it is impossible to stop. Did he sing anything from the Jonathan Livingston Seagull album?
crossy, do you have his new album?? Melody Road. it is so good.
Sweet Caroline?? Makes me think of summer and the Red Sox
Sounds like a great concert.
hiya jzw
hello
No I do not, however, I still have his original "Hot August Night" double lp in the closet ;) I played that thing to death :)
no he didn't, but most of that is instrumental. yes sweet caroline, red red wine, song sung blue. it was heaven. my throat was so sore from screaming and singing.
Every time I hear Forever in Bluejeans, it makes me smile :)
so do i crosy... lolll. don is going to buy the cd of it. bless him.
oh my, song sung blue. Brings back memories
and my hands were burning from all the clapping.
i wanted to scream out, the tree people are here...lolll.
Sounds like an amazing evening :)
don enjoyed himself too. he said he was only sorry that he couldn't remember the lyrics.
he knows all the music, just can't seem to hold onto the lyrics. but that's okay. i made up for it. *grin*
My weakness is that i cannot hold onto names.
I can be in a room of students for 7 weeks and out of 30 I may remember 3 names
neither can i fossy, rossy, bossy...hang on....oh yeah crossy.
hah, found the 10. Not that it matters.
call me whatever you wish, rosie, just do not call me late for breakfast!
whoot, sprite is on a roll
irrelevant
oops
darn
roflollllll crossy!!!!!!!
ty, sprite :)
geee, crossy clues really well.
*giggles*
My bad :(
My clues are the bestest :)
he sure does
that they are, crossy, that they are
that one word lead me to at least 8 others :)
hehehe yeah that is a good starting point
Now, ladies, go easy on poor ole crossy. I have not finished my first tea yet.. :(
we luv you, crossy.
:)
and that is fireflies for me... you guessed it was coming, seeing I finally got the biggies...
WTG SPRITE!!!!!
*lines up crossy's second cuppa* c'mon crossy. drink up
*hugs* to you all. Sleep well, my dear rose, and all the best for now... and the rest of you, have a good day :)
xoxox sprite. enjoy your day 'off'
tc and have a good day, ((sprite))
i think i'll go too. love and hugs to you all. frances don't be backward in contacting me sweetie. i totally understand your fear.
Back, thanks for that great clue Crossy :)
Thank you Rose. Just need your e-mail address.
frances, it is in my profile honey.
Rose I have read your profile three times and cannot see it.
apologies frances. it is there now. i don't know what happened to it. *grin*
Thank you Rose/
xoxox frances
Good morning/day everyone
Hi car
lol, finally blacked out my first tile.
Way to go!
good grief...just saw the superlative ending...
phantom: enclave
good grief is an oxymoron
Depends on the situation:)
Oftentimes, weeping and gnashing of teeth, as well as the venting of your spleen as you bay at the moon can be cleansing. :)
ookay, its a euphemism for a maid
phantom: lycanthrope
I am an oxymoron, so it is fitting that I use it! ;)
that is quite the phantom

Morning, everyone!
((Mimi))
((crossy)) Did you get my latest ems?
No, sorry, I do not recall getting a mssg for you for a bit now :(
I'll send again---of course, one re: bacon and the other a recipe that looks great for Christmas called "Creme Brulee Breakfast Bake" that you can assemble the night before and then just bake in the morning. I haven't tried it yet but thinking about making and taking to my son's for the holiday as a dessert instead of breakfast.
anything bacon works for me :)
Sadly, it is a rare treat now. Bacon is so expensive these days that those porkers must trot along on golden hooves before they make the ultimate sacrifice...
and now WHO says it is as bad as cigarettes (sarcasm there!!)
On average, for half-decent stuff, it is A whisker under 6 dollars for 375G or 3/4 of a pound!
Everything will kill us--eventually
Major milestone here--on Monday I went down the stairs outside leading from my apt. to the pkg. lot UNDER MY OWN STEAM!! First time I've done that in 6 months! My son was here to take me to the doctor so he was close just in case, but I went right down them with no problem at all. Going back up is another story but my son-in-law helps and I'm getting stronger. Had the surgical staples removed from my back Mon.---ouch.
Yaa for small victories!!
I'm determined to walk, though perhaps with a supportive escort, at my daughter's wedding Nov. 28.
your lucky crossy,i've just worked it out that we pay approx $30 Canadian dollars for a pound of bacon.
Just resent both ems, crossy.
Lots of work today so must get started. HAGD, all.
l8r mimi

It's all about the rugby world cup over here - Aus vs NZ on Saturday night UK time.

HI saani - long time no see - hope you're well.
these are the best teams in baseball.. it's a great show
I have done my time with Rugby players. What a hard drinking crew those guys are.
That's for sure, Molly.
so far it has been an exciting game.. the crowd is really pumped
last night's game was very exciting
no score so far, second inning
I think it's funny that the Republican Debate is on against The World Series. Small audience for the three dozen Republicans running for President.
got my last s
AGAINST? They must be trying to loose votes
mayb
Fireworks - finally.
WTG Liz

the at 7 is aa studion; the 6 decribesit
wow what bad typing! Time for a nap! Bye for now
Oh thank God, I thought I was reading a language I didn't understand. Or something from Dr. Who
Me too molly I cant figure out the clue at all :(
studio (at 7) plus word decribing it (at 6)
The at7 is consumed food + off spelling of one who fibs
Ty
It is nice to know that there are ions that are studly though.
The 6 is consumed food plus first 3 letters of hair bugs
That is why San clued it as the word that describes the at7
"velcro" should be acceptable, grumble grumble
Oh that is funny. Velcro...in a word list as antiquated as Enable? : D
An 7 please
it is on the morewords list
An7 is more fidgety
an7 is the picnic pest in comparative form
Lots of words on the Morewords list are not accepted here. The Enable Word List, that drives this puzzle has not been updated for 15 years.
