sort of zooz. we were out driving in it. it was like driving through a waterfall. and there was a tornado for heavens sake.
Glad no damage was done then. Not nice. We have lots of tornandos here every year. Albeit they are very small and most of the time you do not realise one has passed by lol

My dryer broke recently and am determind not to buy another on as the electricity bill so far is way too high. Wondering how the mothers of yesterday coped with wet days when the washing needs to be dried.

I don't have a dryer, zooz. And I have two teenager kids, a husband with working clothes, hobby clothes and normal clothes...
we used to hang the wash on a clothes-horse and pulleyed it up to the ceiling where the heat was trapped.
I hang the laundry indoors, one load a day.
So how do you dry the clothes on a wet week?
Would that not make the home damp or smell of musty mould?
I have a rack over the door of the bathroom. Only place where there is room

you need a drying rack, zooz. Easy as pie. And clothes pegs. Or what are they called. Pin up the clothes, make sure there is a bit of room in between each, so they can dry out quickly. Rinse and repeat.
I have had a pile of books by my bedside and have now got down to the last six books.The last six books are by an author called Marcel Proust. I opened up the first page and good grief! the writing is so tiny i could hardly see the letters! Was so used to the other book text being larger lol

Well, not the best. It seems I had a minor heart attack that I didn't even notice. Now the doctor has me on meds.
Uh, oh. Do you have to have an angiogram now? How old are you?
...if I may ask. I am a doctor.
I have had a few tests, I guess I will get more when I see the specialist.
I am almost 59 and heart disease does run in the family.
The cardiologist will answer your questions.
I guess it's possible the shingles pain covered something or maybe it caused the shingles to come out. We really don't know when it happened. My holter results were normal.
He has me on pills to slow down my heartbeat and one other pill, both low dose.
Women have atypical signs and symptoms with heart attacks.
"indigestion" etc
Both me and the doctor were surprised. I only remember one pain in my back like a knife just before the shingles broke out but when the pain had already started.
Very sorry to hear that, Sukee. glad it has been spotted now though so things can be monitored.
Will be ramping up my walking and eating much healthier. I admit I was not always eating that well.
But even my father at age 71 or so, on an EKG, was found to have evidence of a prior MI.
I think the fact I never smoked will help a bit.
It makes you wonder how many people have had heart attacks and don't even realize it.
I spend a scary weekend before I saw my doctor, but feel much better now. Had my flu shot yesterday :)

My youngest sister just did a 3 day hike in the Havasupai Reservation portion of the Grand Canyon and encountered snow in Flagstaff, AZ when she departed yesterday.
Yesterday we hit 73 but I was in the office all day.
chilly 43 here yesterday. Havasupai is a bit higher in elevation than I'm at. weather stream and el nino are showing the southern states across the board are going to get hit with more of the severe weather than up the northwest corridor

Yes definitely therealblah, I would remove all usernames and identifying information. It is just a project for a college class, the paper would not be read by anyone outside of the class.Study is perhaps not the right word.

and it's so hard b/c a color that looks nice in the store may look entirely different in your apt

Painting apartments can be tricky. Sometimes you can have way too much color in too small of a space.
it is a nice sized apt.
I am not in a hurry to paint
but it is nice that I have the option to do so
I hate painting. Truly, madly, deeply hate it.
painting is one of those jobs i happily outsource. i don't mind the actual painting, but the prep work makes me crazy
the landlord has someone who will paint and she will pay for him. I just have to buy the paint and I can get a 40% discount if I buy Benj Moore. this packing is making me nuts

I just love painting. I love starting a room, seeing it coming together, then standing back & admiring the end result. When I grow up, I might be a painter/decorator.

There are a lot of reasons why it's bad to skip meals
did a marathon shopping trip to save fuel.
my body does not let me skip meals. if i don't eat every few hours i get shaky, cranky etc. (aka hangry)
that sometimes occurs but not today. i wasn't even thirsty, just determined. the early dark is holding me hostage at night.

dancers often carpool. the night driving problem is not unheard of in the dance community. some folks just enjoy company as well.
